Number 129. the Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen.  It comes from the western part of France named Vendée and can be traced back to the 1500s. Today the breed it used for hunting a variety diffrent animals.

Black-based agouti piebald with ticking is such a neat combo! I've always thought the 'grizzled' kind of pattern to her splodges is really cool, so it's fun to know what's causing it. She's just listed as a 'tri-colour' in layman's terms 😆

Mostly incurable dog autism 😅 learning about dog color genetics is probably what got me interested in genetics in general (and now I'm a biologist!). These sites offer a great intro for learning more:
