September 2013 I was in my first full month of graduate school, and I was praying for help. God told me that it would not be an easy journey, that it was not one for walking, but that we would fly together. I wrote it in this notebook and stamped the promise to remind me. Years passed, the notebook met rare use, and now I revisit it again as I prepare for the final exam of my degree. He knew I would use it to fill it with bullet points of all I learned in graduate school. He knew and He planned it so perfectly to remind me that He is still flying with me.

All Things

I've spent years aching from betrayal and heart break, reciting wrongs in my mind and justifying my pain. This past week, however, my vision cleared and saw what I had labeled as destruction and disruption quickly transformed into magnificent outcomes I had not planned. Each occurrence was followed by a pivotal change in my life course--my relationship with my husband, my closest friendships, and my journey through graduate school. Pain is not something relished in the moment, and I do not seek to repeat the anguish experienced, but my life as I know it, complete with joys and victories and traits, would not exist without the ripples in my past. He makes all things good. All things.
