Recently, dual citizenship Palestinians managed to safely arrive back in Australia, and while it is a relief to have them out of the reaches of Israel’s bombs, it’s an undeniable tragedy that they have been unjustly ejected from their homes by an active genocide. While celebrating their arrival, remember that the Albanese government STILL won’t demand a ceasefire and obscures any attempt to uncover details about the military aid we’re currently sending Israel, all the while supplying the US and Israel with surveillance intelligence of Gaza sourced from a base in Alice Springs.

Penny Wong, our minister of foreign affairs, remains committed to doing absolutely nothing besides clutching her pearls and pleading for a “humanitarian pause”. We should all be calling her offices (not emailing) and inundating her with demands for a ceasefire.

The Greens party (the only party to have enough of a spine to call for a ceasefire and to walk out of Parliament in disgust for our cooperation in Israel’s war crimes) has also put together a petition to stop Labour exports of weapons into Israel. You can sign it here.

If you live in Sydney - a boat carrying armaments meant for Israel is going to be docking there in a few days.

Join trade unionists to protest the boat and delay it for as long as possible.

Australians - I know as a population that a lot of us are checked out of politics. You can’t afford to do that now. 1% of all Palestinians have been killed by Israel’s assault on Palestine - 1 in 100 are dead, and half of those are children. Australia is complicit in genocide and it is up to you to never give our politicians a moment of peace until Palestine is freed.

Israel’s New Website Documenting Hamas Atrocities, Reminding World How Gaza War Began Reaches Millions in First Week

The Israeli government’s website showing the horrors of the Hamas terror group’s Oct. 7 massacre in southern Israel has received significant online traffic in the week since its launch, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The website — https://saturday-october-seven.com/ — has already garnered more than 43 million views, including around half a million that led to people exploring the site’s content about the Oct. 7 atrocities.

 The site, which includes disturbing videos and pictures of the crimes committed, contains a warning: “Extreme viewer discretion is advised.”

The IDF launched the site in partnership with Israel’s National Public Diplomacy Directorate the day before the start of South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) charging Israel with committing “genocide” in Gaza.

The website’s content includes graphic footage from Hamas’ brutal rampage across southern Israeli towns, the Nova music festival, and military bases. All told, Hamas terrorists killed more than 1,200 people and took over 240 hostages during its onslaught, sparking the war in Gaza.

hm the thing north americans should understand when non english speakers complain about websites or the internet in general being very usamerican is that like. its like that everywhere online. everything is for you... its all built with you as the default in mind ... every other nationality has to carve in a little.community for themselves but theres not any website online thats like. for south americans. or for koreans. or for mexicans. etc like you get the idea. there are only communities within default US websites. that gets frustrating when youre not usamerican

legitimately if more people were making a big deal about voting in every possible election and pushing as many positions as possible blue it wouldn't bother me as much but it's like. everyone's fucking obsessed with biden. everyone's tucking themselves as far up his ass as they can while still being in reach of licking his boots. i don't know why so many people can't let "he's not only endorsing but actively aiding an ongoing genocide" be good enough reason to not vote for him! if all of the biden shills would turn the fuck up to their local and congressional elections and actually get even halfway progressive minds in those seats that would make more difference than exclusively pressing this hard for the president! if these people were willing to make a clear declaration of biden having lost their support then the democratic party would eventually have to reckon with that! but like passionately reducing it to a trump vs biden game where nothing else matters and insisting trump will be invariably worse so you HAVE to vote biden no matter what does nothing to actually push biden left, does nothing to make seated democrats stop supporting the genocide, does nothing to make seated democrats be more proactive on the countless other topics they've let us down on like immigrant humane treatment or abortion rights or trans rights or covid protections or etc etc etc. These things have actively been as bad if not worse under biden as they were under trump. get real

cannot fathom how unbelievably stupid i am. literally arrived at the airport and realised my ESTA expired while in line for check-in. attempted to panic apply for it on my phone and payment bounced back and because US government websites are the devil it just refused to show me the payment button again. so i couldn't apply until it refreshed and that took too long so i had to just miss my flight and pay to book a new one tomorrow once i (hopefully) get approval.

i am so incredibly paranoid and careful about checking everything before i travel. i am so blown away by the fact the ESTA just... didn't occur to me. this could have been SO easily avoided. fuuuuuuuck me
