Penny Wong, our minister of foreign affairs, remains committed to doing absolutely nothing besides clutching her pearls and pleading for a “humanitarian pause”. We should all be calling her offices (not emailing) and inundating her with demands for a ceasefire.

The Trump administration plans to pause some federal government websites in order to remove content contrary to the president's thinking, administration officials told CBS News.

Word spread quickly throughout Washington that action would be taken to change federal websites.

Politico reported earlier in the day that Agriculture Department employees had been ordered to delete landing pages on climate change across agency websites, according to an internal email, and the directive had come from the USDA's communications office.

Multiple officials from health departments and nonprofits receiving federal funding say they've been told to scrub mentions of gender and equity from their programs, in order to comply with President Trump's executive order this week, CBS News confirmed. Reuters first reported this directive.

like at the core of partisan electoralism is the need for every bad thing to be the other guy's fault, and inevitably that comes down to retconning away all blame.

we've watched this happen a billion times. everything that was 'you're making a fuss about this, calm down' when Our Guys were in power suddenly becomes 'I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'VE ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN' as soon as The Other Guys are in power. whether it's Tories in the UK suddenly being Very Concerned about the impacts of austerity now Labour are the ones doing it, or American democrats abruptly caring again about border violence.

but it's fucking wild to start doing that about. eg. a multi-year genocide that's dominated the last couple of years' news and is still ongoing, when the Bad Guys have been in government for literally a couple of weeks. how stupid do you think people are? we were there when this was happening under the Good Guys, it was literally less than a month ago.

I guess my main thing here is. Is there not enough Actually Terrible Things Donald Trump's government is doing? Do you need to invent fake reasons to dislike the fascist government you've got? Why do you need to focus on rewriting history to absolve the previous government in order to say 'fascism is bad'?

this is what fucking happens when you treat politics as supporting a team instead of demanding specific policy. to operate fully in party electoralism you have to be willing to fully shut off your memory the second there's a changeover of power. doesn't matter what side you're on, that's the demands of party loyalty. everything Bad was caused by The Bad Guys. The Good Guys have never done a thing wrong in their lives ever, and if they did it was the Bad Guys' fault, or the fault of wreckers who don't understand how bad the Bad Guys would be.

Israel’s New Website Documenting Hamas Atrocities, Reminding World How Gaza War Began Reaches Millions in First Week

The Israeli government’s website showing the horrors of the Hamas terror group’s Oct. 7 massacre in southern Israel has received significant online traffic in the week since its launch, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The website — https://saturday-october-seven.com/ — has already garnered more than 43 million views, including around half a million that led to people exploring the site’s content about the Oct. 7 atrocities.

 The site, which includes disturbing videos and pictures of the crimes committed, contains a warning: “Extreme viewer discretion is advised.”

The IDF launched the site in partnership with Israel’s National Public Diplomacy Directorate the day before the start of South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) charging Israel with committing “genocide” in Gaza.

The website’s content includes graphic footage from Hamas’ brutal rampage across southern Israeli towns, the Nova music festival, and military bases. All told, Hamas terrorists killed more than 1,200 people and took over 240 hostages during its onslaught, sparking the war in Gaza.
