Concept I have to post before I feel asleep: NRC hosts a Parents' Day for the students' parents to visit their children and everyone is having a relatively fun day with their siblings, every but you. It's midnight and I'm still unwell.

Have a bit of one of Maeve and Alter's early interactions in my abandoned AU.

Keith only needed one hand on the small of her back to pull her onto his leg. The simple and boring black dress she used to wear left a lot to imagination, and he had been exercising it plenty the last couple days. The way her petite body weighed nicely and warmly on his thigh gave him more welcome information. The curve of her waist a perfect fit for his palm as he couldn't help but squeeze her chest lightly against his, so soft and full. Her scent engulfed him, earthy rosemary, perhaps sweet geranium… but not quite. Either way, Maeve really was a delicious prey to be devoured.

The best part, however, was that look on her face. The glimmer in her eyes revealed astonishment, anticipation, thrill. A visceral impulse to recoil like a frightened little animal. Still, something kept her in place, captive to his eyes. Something other than his physical force, for Keith released his grip quickly and, for a few moments, just observed her reaction when offered freedom.

Maeve didn't take it, so he took her wrist with a gentle touch and guided the dainty hand underneath his shirt, right above his wound. She flinched when she felt it against her fingertips, as if she could feel the hurt in her own skin, and finally she exhaled the air she had been holding this whole time. Keith grinned and kept her hand in place.

"Why don't we play like this? I'll answer you one question in your turn, you'll answer me one question in my turn. If I fail to provide you with an honest answer, you can punish me." His thumb caressed the inside of her wrist ever so slightly, a subtle sign of what he meant.

"And what if I fail to provide you with an honest answer?" Maeve inquired, the lovely pinkish color lingering on her face, indicating her heart was probably still beating fast for as much as she tried to conceal it.

"I'll kiss you."

UMMMM okay, this is a really difficult question because i love all kinds of bread. honey oat has always been a top favorite of mine. i eat a slice of honey oat toast every morning when we have it. if not, i usually opt for the classic bagel. but i also enjoy jalapeño cheddar bread!

oh and i REALLY enjoy cinnamon raisin bread. that's always a solid choice. oh and classic wheat is pretty okay too. ummm you can't go wrong with rye though... OH but sourdough is pretty good too. apparently tortilla is considered a flatbread????? if that's the case then tortillas de harina might have to be my top favorite...

but if not, then a good brioche is always a solid choice. well then theres also brown bread which is pretty yummy. baguettes are perfect for some sandwiches though.

OH BUT BANANA BREADDDDD!! banana bread is always good if you want something sweet. but since you're making me choose ONE SINGLE BREAD...

For anyone curious about my animal based nicknames

I got 'Joey' from 'Kangaroo ki bachi' which means child of kangaroo AKA Joey

I got 'Duckling' because I kept cackling like a maniac, which sounded awfully similar to a duck quacking

I got 'Tadpole' because of the new haircut I got(I left a small 'tail' of hair so my head basically looks like a tadpole from behind)

The first two nicknames I got were from my teachers who happen to both be my language teachers

The final nickname on this list was given by my mom 🤭
