been chewing on this conversation between pearl and gem this week:

Gem: I know you didn't kill me!

Pearl: So what are you cranky about?

Gem: I'm just- you know, I wanted some drama! So, this is the drama, you're welcome.

Pearl: "This is the drama". You're telling me we could've been friends this whole time but you're just like "yoohoohoohoohoohoohoo... I hate you!"

Gem: Yeah, I mean, why not!

and i'm connecting it to gem in empires season 2, where like. in the context of the fiction everyone else had been living in that world their whole lives and that's their reality, like, it's real to them.

and meanwhile gem is just roleplaying. like, she was a being from another world who just came there because she wanted to play at being a human princess for a while. and then when she's called away she's just like. anyway i was never actually a princess or a mortal being from this dimension and we're never gonna see each other again, sorry for the existential crisis, bye!

and anyway i think she has a similar deal in the life series. like, everyone else is there because they're trapped in the Torment Nexus, gem is there because she wants to be.

im removing the mayoi (frogs in caves) bc i dont like how satori and its aesthetic was turned from something mysterious and otherwordly to yet another collectable-

so im turnign the frog idea into a single thing living in the underground as a counterpart to satori itself- perhaps it resides in a giant tree growing from the ceiling bc i ASLO didnt like how there was that at first cool looking underground tree with all the rumis (rabbit things) but then it was quite literally nothing (again)

this idea is pretty new so i am still working on the details, im all ears for suggestions :P

Thought of the Evening: Mario eagerly (and maybe a tad excessively) wining and dining Peach. They already spend so much time together, but now they’re dating, and they’re not hiding their feelings for one another anymore! He can take her on dates! Actual dates! Candlelit dinners, solo beach getaways far, far away from Isle Delfino, private ballroom dances with a string quartet playing waltzes just for them — all these grand romantic gestures he’s been dying to shower her with, all these things he’s dreamed of providing for a special someone from the time he was a kid, all finally realized! His inner romantic has never been happier.

You’d think Super Mario of all people would pull all of this off effortlessly, given how celebrated and successful he is. You’d be wrong. His inexperience with romantic relationships coupled with his adoration for his Princess means nerves frequently get the best of him, and that tends to lead to Shenanigans™️. And I’m not talking “Tee-hee, this blue-collar cutie tries dressing up but his tie is crooked and he’s so embarrassed about it! How silly!” I’m talking more like:

He’s so lost in her eyes during their candlelight dinner that he doesn’t realize he’s swooning a little too close to an open flame until his hair catches fire, and Peach empties out the last of their very expensive champagne on his head to spare his locks.

He hastily learned how to surf to impress her, but as luck would have it, surfing is one of the few skills he can’t quite get the hang of. When he inevitably wipes out while showing off, the waves eventually spit him back out onto the shore, where he blindly crawls around in the sand until Peach reaches him because there’s a Blooper stuck to his face and a baby Cheep Chomp gnawing on his ankle.

He trips while they’re dancing together. Mario is notoriously agile and typically recovers quickly, but alas, his coordination goes out the window when he’s flustered, and he’s definitely flustered now. The result: Peach loses balance when she attempts to right him, he overcorrects when trying to save her, and they end up barreling directly into the string quartet. The casualties include three music stands and a viola.

None of these dates ever go exactly the way they’re planned. You’d think that would be a source of frustration for both parties… but you’d be wrong about that, too. Even if their dates go off-course, once the shock and embarrassment wear off, they both find themselves seized with laughter and clinging to each other for support. So what if it’s not all picture perfect? They’re together, and they’re creating shared memories, and that’s worth way more than any notion of perfection.

Besides, they’ve both brought so much excitement into each other’s lives over the years. Why should that stop now?

Tactical Breach Wizards is such a GOOD fucking game, man. I thought it was gonna be a fun tactic silly game where you throw people out of windows but then it turns out it has a really interesting political plot about overthrowing fascist theocracies and stopping fucked up magic corporate colonialism??? While keeping the comedic characters balanced with some really good and deep characterization?? And it also integrates the whole "turn-based tactical game where you can rewind time" in a very hard-hitting history moment in which reading the FUCKING GAME IU gave me CHILLS--

so yeah i liked it a normal amount. I recommend it even if you don't really like tactical games-- that's like, my least played type of game and I finished this game no problem!

Goodness so much going on and its only been just a bit over a week into the month! AHHHH I've been playing Digimon Cyber Sleuth on and off again and I FINALLY digivolved my starting digimon ( Palmon ) all the way up to Rosemon !!! I wanted to sketch them for that reason... it took way longer than expected...!! But for that reason it feels like a big achievement!

This is specifically supposed to be my Rosemon ( His name is Squire ) but I think I could design him to have more of his own cool unique details as an actual Digimon oc !! So this is Squire... for now !!!
