Since “Terrible Things” has been stuck in my head recently, I thought I’d do a quick doodle of Springtrap between the Christmas art I’ve been making!

Arms furiously stretched and swung and feet stamped to enunciate visible outrage.

"Over where we're from, we have to deal with living in a giant animatronic mall and occasionally the works of cross-dimensional madness. But over there, it seems to me they really need to learn a lesson about getting along!"

"I could take them in a fight with a small dresser tied to my dominant hand." Moon stared, unblinking, body as stiff as a long rock.

The other contestants watched as the words were rocked and tossed in a staggering hatred.

At one point, Heart's wings had enlarged to mimic that of a threatened bird inflating its stance to appear larger; Mind's chest hummed with the overwork of his fans.

Suns and moons from all sorts of solar systems stationed across the multiverse watched in horror.

Two of them were those guys from Nimona, but I don't know dick about shit about Nimona so you gotta use your imagination for that one.

"Right right, you two have your trophy, just…" The celestial staff member disarmingly motioned their hands, gazing down at the two halves. "What are you going to do with your prize money?"

"(Oh, I'm probably gonna use it on an invasive wildflower and a seven hundred AUD life-sized Lopunny plush.)"

I HAVE RETURNED FROM THE FNAF MOVIE AND I HAVE SOME THOUGHTS

✨ Non-spoiler section ✨

I had such a fun time with this movie! There were a ton of Easter eggs I caught and I’m sure there’s a few that I missed! My best advice for anyone wanting to see this movie is don’t take it super seriously, you’ll enjoy it more! The makers of this film weren’t lying when they said that they made this movie for the fans, I do feel like fans will enjoy this movie way more than a general audience and that’s perfectly fine! It’s campy at some parts and funnier than I thought it would be, but that’s what made it so fun! Now for the nitty-gritty…

What I liked…

• First off, Matthew Patrick is a fucking LIAR! He does have a cameo in the movie, he says his iconic “That’s just a theory” line which was great! He’s a waiter at a diner, which leads me to my next point

• The diner was named “Sparky’s”, which I feel like only OG fans will get the reference. But for those of you who don’t know, back when FNAF 1 came out, there was a rumor of a secret/rare animatronic in the game called Sparky the Dog. There was a fake image floating around showing him standing in the door to parts and service. This was later confirmed to be fake. BUT! In the movie they also have a dog-looking animatronic in the parts and service room which absolutely took me out lol

• Acting was great! Everyone was fun to watch, Josh Hutcherson was a great lead as Mike and Piper Rubio was so sweet as Abby but I gotta give my props to Matthew Lillard towards the end of the movie, he looked like he was having so much fun being this unhinged monster! Speaking of…

• There is a spring lock scene!! It is real!! And God was it cathartic to watch! Obviously being PG-13, they couldn’t do blood and guts galore, but I think they managed to pull it off pretty well! Afton’s scene was definitely my favorite in the film hands down! And yes, he gets his “I always come back” line which put 5 years back on my life if I’m being honest lmao

• There is blood in this movie! Not a gratuitous amount, but it was enough for what they were going for I think! The kills of the people breaking to Freddy’s were more entertaining to watch than I thought! Especially Freddy’s kill…that caught me completely off guard lmao

• There aren’t too many jumpscares but that was fine with me! They do this repeat jumpscare with a little figurine of Balloon Boy like 3 times and I thought it was funny every time! They do a really good job with tension in this movie!

• The animatronics!!!! LOVED THEM!!!! They were so detailed and well designed, they were so fun to watch!! The Jim Henson company did an absolutely stellar job with the designs, I want to hug them 🥺

• So the story…I thought it was fine! They do stray from canon by making Vanessa Afton’s daughter in the movie instead of Mike being his son. They do confirm Afton was the one who kidnapped and killed Mike’s brother Garrett. The story is kind of left open ended as if they could continue the story (which I hope they do), but I think it leaves a more or less satisfying ending!

• There’s a minor mid-credit scene with Cory Kenshin and a secret message at the very end of the credits. I couldn’t hear it well but it’s spelled-out letters exactly like the ones from the death minigames in FNAF 2

• Yes, The Living Tombstone’s FNAF song is in the end credits, I felt my soul leave my body ����

Minor Negatives…

• The story is slow at the beginning, it takes a little bit for anything super interesting to take place

• There are some plot points that don’t get explained or resolved (which is par for the course for FNAF) but that leads me to believe that they want to make sequels which I am all here for

• The Aunt Jane character wasn’t super important, she was fine, but she was there just to serve as an antagonist to Mike for a whole 5 minutes of the movie, if that

• I wanted so much more Afton/Spring Bonnie time, it was too short for me but I am happy with what I got. Also, he didn’t wear any purple in the movie which I think is a crime 😂

• Kind of wish there was an R rated version of this movie even though FNAF isn’t known for being bloody and gory, but some parts felt a little tame

• Also please correct me if I’m wrong but, they didn’t use the Toreador March music at all?? If I missed it, please tell me but I was waiting to hear it and it never came from what I remember

Speculation…

• So the biggest plot issue for me was that they never explained Afton’s intentions for killing. I think fans of the games know why he’s killing, but the general audience won’t. I’m sure it has something to do with the saw blade machine that tries to stuff your head into Freddy’s head. But it wasn’t clear. Vanessa never gave us a straight answer either even though she was in on it from the beginning.

• Towards the beginning of the movie, Abby is shown to be talking to her “invisible friend”, this is before Mike is hired as Freddy’s security guard. Turns out that friend is the ghost kid who possess Golden Freddy/Fredbear (again, isn’t clear lol). I wanna know why that kid showed up before Mike and Abby even went to the location??

• I may be reading too much into this, but when Mike goes in to get a new job after being fired from his mall security guard job, he’s talking to “Steve” and Steve does something interesting. He’s berating him for his inability to hold down a job, the he looks at his name on the file and just goes “…Mike S…” and just, doesn’t finish saying his name. He looks at Mike really weird like he’s trying to find something, and then just completely changes the subject. IDK, I’ll probably have to watch it again, and I think it would be a stretch to go the “Mike Afton” route especially since they established Vanessa was his kid. But ya never know with FNAF 😂

• Also the secret message that was spelled out at the end of the credits. If any of y’all know what they spelled, please tell me because I could not figure it out! I would love to know what it said!

Conclusion…

I just had a blast with this movie! I wasn’t sure what to expect with this movie but I think Blumhouse and everyone who worked on this movie did an amazing job, you can tell they put so much heart and soul into this! I will patiently be awaiting the announcement of the next movie until then!

Anyways, Amarys does not get scared bet, like maybe a sudden jolt if she gets caught off guard but usually when she gets jumpscared she'd just go "oh, I lost." I think she'd be the type to actually try the fangames, looking for a challenge, taking Crispin's words saying the fangames have scarier gameplay and animatronics

She still don't find it scary, she did love the challenge tho hahah

Out of all four of em, she's the closest to ever beat UCN too. And Drayton, being Drayton, was all "well, my sis beat ultimate custom night, so by extension I beat it too"

Bet she'd love fnaf world tho, like Bianca she'd love the cute models of the animatronics more than their actual models hahah I think she'd like the glamrock and toy animatronics bc like,, I think they're the cutest?? Idk, I think she'd like them more than anything else. She had nightmares abt Glitchtrap tho real, refused to go in dark places for an entire month and stopped playing VR bc of it hahaha

Crispin gives off the vibes he really had a fnaf phase and never grew outta it, he always tries to make pizza whenever he plays it or if he watches someone play it, y'know, for the immersion he says hahah but also bet he'd be the type to watch every fnaf theory video out there, especially by pkmn ver of MatPat; the type to think of his own theories, make fanart, bet he listened to the fan songs and still memorized some of them by heart. It would be cute tho if Crispin got Amarys hooked w the lore hahah like him talking abt fnaf and telling her the story so far while she's playing, and ofc she's listening to ever word, even adding her own thoughts. They give off vibes that they'd actually try to decipher a lot of the codes and puzzles in the games, like really going above and beyond to figure out every hidden meaning hahah

I think Amarys would also read the books, Lacey's surprised there are actually books abt it, Drayton didn't bother reading them ofc, Crispin's attention span isn't made for it so he just relies on Amarys for more info abt the lore regarding the stuff within the books and connecting them to the mainline games

And bet when the movie was out Crispin got so fucking excited he invited the E4 and the Kitakami sibs to watch it with him, like he really made a lotta snacks and I know for a fact and it's canon in my heart he screamed when the song at the credits played I just know it hahaha

Part 2 of my FNaF movie theory post

Spoilers ahead!

However for the longest time I thought I was going crazy as I was pretty certain this wasn't the only time I heard this specific music cue in the movie. And right I was, for the same note pattern appears again here:

(Original track: "My Grandfather's Clock")

This is the second credits song that plays after the living tombstone's iconic FNaF song. And for all of those who somehow lived under a rock this whole time or only joined during the Security Breach era and haven't checked out some of the classic FNaF stuff: this song is a remix/remake of the iconic music box theme (by the same name) from FNaF 2. Which was used for the Puppet.

Now it's nothing new to assume that the Puppet will be part of the second movie, we all pretty much agree that it will be the case. And some of us (me included) even went so far as to go with the theory that Garrett might be the one possessing the Puppet.

As it seems the Aftons and Emilys seemed to have traded places, with Garrett now taking Charlie's role from the games.

However I think this little musical cue, this tiny note pattern, that's the key to confirm that the Puppet will be in fact possessed by Garrett.

Why would they choose this random little music pattern from a random scene in the middle of the movie and put it in the end credits? Credits music is either there to reflect on the score of the entire movie or highlight the most important songs from it.

So not only do we get a song that hasn't been present at all during the entire runtime, but we also have this random note pattern thrown into the credits song.

I believe that this is the leitmotif of possession in the movie. The first time we hear this theme is when we see Mike witness the animatronics move on their own for the first time and realizing that they aren't being controlled by someone behind the scenes. This music cue is associated with the realization that these robots aren't just robots.

They have souls in them. Spirits.

So now take that information and apply it to the credits scene. We have a rendition of the Puppet's music box accompanied by the musical cue associated with possession. Aka we already know for a fact that the Puppet will have a spirit inside. It won't get possessed during the second movie, it already is.

Even if us old fans already knew that it will most likely be the case, this theme, this leitmotif, basically confirms that it 100% will be the case.

Now all we gotta wait for is to find out if Garrett will be the one or not.

On an additional note: this musical cue does play twice in the credits song. Unlike in the first track where it only plays once.

Since our boy Golden Freddy doesn't seem to have two spirits inside (or maybe he does who knows) what if we still keep the trend going of Mike's brother and someone else possessing the same animatronic? Who knows really. Maybe it will be two spirits in the Puppet or just one.

And that's the end of this random post.

Could I be reading way too much into all of this? Absolutely.

But that won't stop me from rambling about stuff that I love. And I sure do love me some leitmotif connections!

may i please have some head cannons about maya and marina's reletionship

Sorry it took me a bit to get to this one!! Such an interesting pair and honestly I don’t talk about the two of them together nearly as much as I’d like so Ty for the chance to anon lmao

- first some background: their first meeting was a little awkward because Maya was a HUGE off the hook fan when she came to inkopolis (and tbh still is). From the first splatfest she participated in she immediately fell in love with Pearl and Marina’s music so her first time meeting them was mostly her staring at them from behind Marie trying not to explode into fangirl mode, and Marina awkwardly waving at her everytime they made eye contact because she didn’t know what to say + this was hardly a day after octo expansion so girl was TIRED.

- due to Marie’s friendship with OTH though, overtime the more Maya was around them the more she warmed up to them in a more casual way, and eventually they both basically became her cool aunt figures lol. But since this is about Marina and Maya were focusing on the Marina part with that

- Marina’s pretty good at sewing and 80% of the gifts Maya gets from her are different sewed together or crocheted plushies or the occasional blanket. Maya adores them all and bounces around everytime Marina gives one to her

- they’re both autistic with pretty similar sensory needs which they bond over lol. Sometimes when Maya’s over at OTH’s place and is overstimulated they’ll go sit in one of the sound proof recording studios together and bring a bunch of blankets and pillows in with them and just vibe with their own pair of headphones doing their own thing. Pearl will go to check in on them and make sure they’re not bored + are okay and they’ll both just be like “this is the best experience I’ve had all day”

- I am cringe but I am free you gotta embrace that for this one OKAY LISTEN TO ME JUST LISTEN Maya and Marina are both furries Maya’s got a sheep fursona Marina’s is a wolf, and Marina helped Maya make her first ever fursuit and in return Maya made her so many drawings of their fursonas hanging out and Marina has them all pinned onto the wall of their main recording studio.

- Maya infodumped about fnaf to Marina one time and ofc she was already genuinely interested she loves her niece and her interests, but she only like “sat up super invested” when Maya started going into how the animatronic mechanisms worked. Pearl and Lucky had to stop Marina from building a spring lock suit that day because she WOULDVE.

- on a similar note sometimes Marina will go on long infodumps to Maya about machinery and Maya genuinely enjoys listening to them. Sometimes when she gets home from hanging out with her she’ll recreate what Marina was talking about in Minecraft, then bring her laptop the next day to show her and ask how accurate it is (Marina LOVES it everytime)

- last one cus I’ve gone on long enough on accident lol; second best to Marie, Marina’s the best at getting Maya to go back to sleep after waking up from a nightmare. Maya spends a good chunk of time at OTH’s place since they’re the first Marie goes to for watching over Maya when both she and Callie are away for long periods of time for work, so they’ve had experience with dealing with her having nightmares in that time ofc. Maya used to feel reaallyyy bad about it bc it’s one thing to wake her close family up from it, another to wake her kinda family figures up who she’s just a guest at their house to atm from it, but they don’t mind and usually Marina is the one who gets up from it to sit with Maya and talk her through it or sing her songs until she’s able to sleep again. (She has the experience of doing it through Lucky also having a lot of nightmares.)

Please for the love of God someone make some more songs about lolbit, I absolutely love lolbit but i currently only know of the existence of 2 songs (I only knew 1 until like 5 minutes ago) and really... they aren't amazing like they aren't bad at all but there are so many better fnaf songs, like im not a big fan of ft.freddy but you gotta admit that his songs fucking rule

saw the fnaf movie last night and i gotta say my expectations were actually blown away. had a fantastic time (even if i was so distracted by josh hutcherson's big brown eyes and wet, pathetic, traumatized demeanor that i could barely keep up with the plot) and i literally SHRIEKED when i saw matpat and when i heard the living tombstone song for the credits.

for a sec i was very confused as to why critics seem to hate it so much but then i realized that the reason i loved it is because it was a movie made for fnaf kids and no one else. i think for those of us who grew up with the franchise it's amazing and pretty much exactly what we hoped, but for people who didn't (which is the category pretty much all critics fall into, because only current teenagers will have grown up fnaf fans), i can see how it was boring and the plot was confusing and holey. obviously, if you have background knowledge of the games then what critics see as plotholes become clever nods at what's to come in sequels, and most of the entertainment value comes from the way the movie is clearly talking directly to you and giving you exactly what you want, if you're someone who grew up with fnaf. so what critics see as a boring, hole-filled, two hour lore-dump, fans see as an exciting adaptation that gives you a story without outright telling you (and relying on background knowledge from the games to fill in gaps ofc)- exactly what fnaf fans want.

i know a lot of critics felt like the movie was way too dark and serious and should have leaned into the goofiness a bit more, but to me????? it was super goofy????????(in a good way obviosuly) but i think that's because the jokes are mostly nods to fans, and the grimdarkness of the subject matter (gruesome child murder lol) itself is played straight because there's the expectation that fans already will already view the over-the-top edginess as part of the goofy charm.

anyways i felt like i needed to write my little review because this is definitely a movie where rotten tomatoes is not exactly gonna be an accurate measure of if it succeeded in what it set out to do (which i think it hands-down did).

1. Let's start of with an old favorite of mine (to curse you all)

Yeah, I had a Fnaf Childhood, and I actually kinda miss the good ol' days when Fnaf wasn't so complicated, lore wise.

2. Now a recent favorite

Actually, I only really stared liking that song after I saw it live in February.

3. Imma cheat a little and add a second P!atd song

This song is responsible for me becoming a P!atd fan at all. Sadly, I am too young to have "discovered" them earlier than the Death of a Batchelor Album.

4. Let's get back to the spice stuff

It's also a recent favorite but boy do I love this song. The vibe is just very very nice.

5. A little bit of metal never hurt anyone

Don't really have anything to say to this. I just really like the vibe of the song. Actually will be seeing Sabaton live this May.

6. Down to our last four gotta add a bit of fun here

No joke, I listened to this for about 4 hours on a car ride and even fell asleep while listening to this song, if you can even call it that.

7. Well I think it's time for a little Imagine Dragons (this will be hard I currently like a lot of their songs)

I've decided on this one tho. I can't even pin down why I like this song so much. It somehow just hits the right spots in my brain apparently.

Really big fan of American Murder Song. Their songs are just simply *chef's kiss*. Actually, nowadays I listen to The Donner Party, but this song is what kinda got me into their music at all.

10. Finally, the last one

I had to add this. I'm not listening to it a lot, but especially when season two of Good Omens will drop, I'll probably add this to my playlist again.

I am really picky about YouTubers no joke they can have a great arguments but if they way they present it maybe is by AI voice or don’t have a great tone to the video I usually can only hear a minute and do something else.
