You can be emphatetic to the war criminals, killers, rapists and to other human-formed garbagge as long as you want but at least do not pretend to be tolerant and democratic human being.

You can write songs about power, victory and beliefs into higer pro-european ideas but as long as you emphatetic to war criminals and tolerate genocide you not much better than thus criminals.

You can tell everyone that you are pacifistic but as long as you are emphatetic to war criminals you are not. You are war criminals supporter.
