This 1856 Gothic Revival mansion in Oyster Bay, New York (which is out on Long Island) is over-the-top. 6bds, 11ba, $10.888M.

Who painted all the woodwork beige? Good Lord, look at this.

Very elaborate, ornate sitting room.

The 2nd sitting room is just as maximalist, ornate, and elaborate. It's difficult to see the architectural details with all the furnishings.

Here's a small sitting room. Notice how the decor mirrors itself.

Very large dining room open to what looks like a sun room. What a fireplace- Look at how raised the firebox is.

This is a nice room. There certainly are a lot of places to sit.

The kitchen has a vintage/modern look. I don't think I've ever seen the area under the upper cabinets so brightly lit. The cabinetry and counters are all beautiful. The massive island looks like an antique piece.

Through the kitchen is what looks like an everyday dining room.

What a room. Look at the ceiling. It reminds me of a refectory in an old gothic convent.

This looks like the primary bedroom. Not only does it have an amazing sitting area, but it also has a loft. This house is crazy, but as per usual, when it's a mansion like this, they rarely show much of it.

This looks like a greenhouse.

There's a lot of land- 16.14 acres.

A beautiful view of Oyster Bay Harbor.

The home itself has a huge brick patio and this is one of two ponds.

Look at this magnificent 1893 restored Gothic Revival Estate in Staunton, Virginia. It has 7bd. 6.5ba. & is listed at $1.395M.

Lovely entrance hall. Notice that whenever an older home is restored, it almost certainly means that all the wood has been painted white. Damn, I wonder what’s under that paint- look at those gothic arches.

Wow, they even painted the beams on the ceiling and the pocket doors. I wonder what color they would’ve chosen for the walls if gray wasn’t the most popular color for modern homes, today.

Isn’t this a dramatic entrance? Beautiful fireplace. 

Unusually shaped sitting room. I like the fireplace niche. In this room, the white compliments the red and black.

Well, thank you for not painting the library white. Damn! So, this must be the color of the wood under the white paint. I could never take a brush dipped in white paint and touch this wood. 

This is nice, a sunny yellow little sun porch.

Through this hall is another porch. 

Here’s a weird little room- it looks like part pantry/part sitting room. Is that a dumb waiter door on the left?

The dining room has pocket doors to close it off and a lovely fireplace. Hate that wall color, though. I think I would’ve liked a deeper brown. 

Nice archway into the kitchen. Not terribly thrilled w/the reno, but the white cabinets do match the other painted wood. 

Okay, let’s go upstairs. Man, I wish they would’ve left those gothic newel posts natural wood. Look at the window and railing- so gothic. 

Spacious upper hall. 

Nice, sunny bd. w/fireplace, but I don’t think it’s the main bd.

This I like. It’s so vintage w/the original tiles and pedestal sink. 

Very pretty room. 

Another fabulous bath. I love the sink. The baths must’ve been remodeled later, around mid-century, by the looks of the tub, but they’re still vintage.

This must be the main bd. and en-suite. Very nice.

This is lovely- a sunny little 2nd fl. porch.

They’ve got a family room off the little porch. 

Definitely MCM baths in this home.

Nice back porch with a view of the gardens.

Nicely finished attic.

Look at how nice the cellar is- what a great workspace.

Gorgeous rathskeller. 

Beautiful pergola and patio.

What a gothic manor this would make.

Arundel Catholic Cathedral by Roy Llowarch Via Flickr: A Day trip to Arundel in 2013. I took these photos with my Nikon camera. This is Arundel Cathedral from the gardens of Arundel Castle. I wonderful place to visit and Arundel Castle opens to the public on the 1st of April every year. If you like flowers, the castle gardens are amazing. The castle is owned and lived in my the Duke of Norfolk and his family. The Duke of Norfolk is the most senior Catholic in the British Peerage. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arundel
