I met my hero and I didn’t throw up on him like I thought I was gonna do I just stared at him like an idiot and also I didn’t get to ask the questions I wanted to ask because I was freaking out my voice tends to get all messed up when I’m overwhelmed but he noticed my prop knife (I cosplayed as himiko toga) and jokingly asked what I was going to do with it and I said I might change into him and he was all like “we’ll see” and I just AGGHH CURSE YOU AUTISM AND ANXIETY FOR RUINING MY PERFECT DAY! And other reasons I can’t say ! I practiced in the mirror of how to hold a conversation with him and i couldn’t even do that right but I’m glad I met him I’m so grateful I did and I think everyone should meet him ! He’s so sweet and he’s pretty funny

i got my isbn today for the book. 8 months to go. my mom and i were talking about what the next steps are. i was eating trail mix, standing on one foot, phone tucked into my ear.

"yeah," i said. "the problem is that tumblr as a market is like, not something that can be studied." there's this weird wave of nostalgia and affection for this place that came up over me: how lovely we avoid consumerism. okay, it sucks as a creator. but also? keep stickin' it to 'em.

my mother made the sound at the back of her throat that i also make, the one that means i've got an idea. "you should figure out some kind of reward for presale amounts. maybe you give out poems or a mug or a signed book or something. would your followers like that?" my mother is sweet, and kind, and i have no idea how to explain on this website you can buy someone crabs.

i put more m&ms down the hatch. i had to speak through peanuts and almonds. "if it passes 25 thousand i will print the book out in its entirety and eat it live on camera."

"oh god. no, you don't have to do that." she was anguished. "just tell them that you'd love them to read it, and that they've inspired you to write. you got started on that site, and they helped you keep going. raquel, you love these people. the community? you talk all the time about the other writers and artists and whatever else. tell them that you're hoping for their support, they'll come through."

"no," i assured her. i discovered i had dropped an m&m, but an ant had already found it, so it belonged to him now. i will let his little life have a surprise blue treasure in it, too. "i'm gonna fuckin' eat the book."

saying this as respectfully as possible but. Do not put fandom content creators on a pedestal. We are also just fans contributing to a community just as you are. We have boundary on our own work and that’s it. What I say is not and should not be considered sth the whole fandom should listen to. I’m just a normal ass person ranting about things on my blog. If it does not have a fandom tag for others to engage in, do not make it out to be me trying to start fights or addressing the whole community. Because it’s not.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, my art, my lore talk, is biased. I’ve never tried to hide that I view Marika a certain way and will always develop my theory following that base assumption.

Aside from translation stuffs and pointing out in-game items, everything else I say you can look at it, agree or disagree, and move on to form your own opinions. Just because I draw stuffs doesn’t mean you get to saddle me with responsibilities about managing fandom expectations. What the hell? I’m a fan artist, I’m the last person who you should look at for “leaderism” (?) WHAT?

I can and will be a hater in my own space, like I know sometimes other artists will just post their stuffs and not engage too heavily with fandom, and for a while I did try to do that here (because I’m already a dramatic ass on twitter), that’s just not me though.

You will get art and you will get my opinions as well.

Mmmm, I've drawn something in the same vein before but I have been thinking about it again, lmao.

Obviously Harvey is someone who is capable of being very dangerous. He kills based on fate, and, at least in stories I like, his victims are usually people who have wronged him or have twisted the law - they'd otherwise be people he definitely would have put away as DA.

But I can't help but imagine that there's a part of him, probably the Harvey Dent personality, that sort of watches on like a horrified jury when the fate is sealed. It's a moment where his violence reflects that of what his father inflicted upon him, and that there's an almost divine guilt at the fact he has turned to that to get the job done.

But he has to carry on. Bona fide, he keeps telling himself, probably.

Yeah I'm sure she's thought about it! That guilt + relief that Vinekit seems to not have told anyone on her so she didn't get in trouble. I think she misses that hero worship Vine used to give her but also she's been the one avoiding everyone so :<

My advice is

1. to use references as often as you can bc looking at real cats it the best way to learn how to draw cartoon cats

2. if you do make a comic, make sure to make like 5 moons/pages/updates before you start posting it! Both to make sure you actually like what you're drawing and so that you don't get overwhelmed having nothing to post while you're drawing the new stuff.
