I think anyone who had a cosmetic, non-medically important surgery done to them as an infant should be able to sue their parents and any medical professionals involved, win, and then have the guilty parties be publicly hanged as a message
#I'm once again sobbing the permanent reminder that things were done to my body i had no control over#that i can never change. never fix#intersex and had your genitals fucked with? sue and get your parents killed!#got circumcised? sue and get your parents killed!#got piercings? sue and get your parents killed!#'one of these is not like the others'. dont care. yes a small hole isnt 'as bad' as the other two#and its not in many cases! many people who dont like the scars left by piercings they consented to as adults? dont like them but theyre fine#theyre fine emotionally AND its just sorta a risk you take when you consent#but people who got them done as a baby DIDN'T consent. THAT'S why its a problem#if even one person hates themselves‚ hates their body because of something cosmetic done to them before they could even speak#then it shouldn't be done to anyone#congratulations to the people who dont care that they were circumcised or pierced or anything else#but its infinitely better to wait until someone can actually give informed consent and decide they want something than it is to force it

Family Man
Summary: Dabi meets the love of his life and leaves the LoV to care for her and their new baby
m. list / inspired by this post of mine B)
TOOTH ROTTING FLUFF • no one is dead >:( • OOC Dabi, sue me!
Being a parent was always something I dreamed about. When I was little, I used to imagine meeting the man of my dreams and starting a family with him as soon as possible. But with every failed relationship I seemed to have, my hopes that would happen diminished. I was walking home from the hospital I work at when I stumbled across a man with a long black coat and a scarred face. He had black hair and piercings and it looked like his scars had staples where they met the non-scarred skin. He was hunched over and clutching his stomach. I wearily approached him.
"Are you okay?" I asked hesitantly. The sound of my voice made his head shoot up, he looked my straight in my eyes. My [eye color] eyes met his icy blue ones.
"Obviously not," He replied through gritted teeth.
"I can help you, the hospital isn't too far-" he cut me off.
"I can't go to the hospital," He said.
"Why not?" I asked
"Just help me out and maybe I'll tell you afterward," He answered. I nodded and walked over to him.
"Here, I can help you walk. I'll take you to my house, it's not that far from here," I said with a smile. The man rolled his eyes at me and supported himself using my shoulder. We stumbled up a few blocks to my apartment building. It was a cheap place and looked run down, but the quality wasn't horrible. I couldn't complain.
"What happened?" I asked. We were now in my apartment and I had the stranger sitting on one of my kitchen chairs.
"I got stabbed. The fucker got me good too," the man replied.
"Can you uh... Take your shirt off?" I asked. The man smirked a bit at my awkwardness.
"Sure," He replied. He took off his jacket and shirt tauntingly slow. He never gave up eye contact either. He was well built and muscular. He had scars on his stomach that matched his face. A weird part of me found it attractive. But I quickly shook that thought and began working. I looked at the wound and my quirk told me everything I need to know.
My quirk was basically an X-ray without all the machines, and it gave me a description of the wound with what caused it. "You're lucky, if you were stabbed one inch to the right, it would've hit your intestines," I explained.
"How do you know? You haven't even touched me," he asked.
I hummed, "My quirk. Wasn't fit to be a pro, so I became a doctor." I walked away to grab a needle and thread to stitch him. "What's your deal? Are you in a gang or something?"
He hesitated, "You could say that."
I nodded, "Ah ok. At least you weren't some random civilian that got stabbed then."
"What? You think I deserved to be stabbed?" He asked.
"That's not what I meant. No one 'deserves' to be stabbed. I'm just saying crime has been on the rise and I'd hate it if someone defenseless got stabbed. But since you're in a sorta-gang or whatever, then you can handle yourself," I explained.
He scoffed, "Whatever. I kill people, you know. I could kill you right now."
I shrugged, "Doesn't matter. My job is helping the sick and injured, not persecuting them. And done. There, all stitched up and not bleeding."
"What already?" He asked. "I didn't even feel you start."
"Just another part of my quirk. When someone who's hurt talks to me, it gives the same effect painkillers would. Pretty nifty, huh?" I explained. "I'm Y/N by the way. If you're ever injured again, you can stop by. I usually get off work around 10 PM and go in at 8 AM."
"Dabi. I'll keep you to that offer," He simply said before putting his clothes back on and leaving.
"Take care, be safe," I said as I closed the door.
The second time I saw him it was midnight and there were loud knocks at my door. Hurriedly, I rushed to the door and opened it. Dabi was there with a teenage girl in his arms. "I didn't know where else to go," he said. "Please."
"Don't just stand there! Put her on the counter!" I instructed. I pushed everything that was on my counter to the floor to make room for the girl. Dabi gently placed her down and I scanned her body. She had 2 stab wounds on her lower stomach and large lacerations on her arms and legs. "Who did this? What happened? Try waking her up, I need her to speak to me so she doesn't feel any pain."
"We were trying to get more recruits for our group. Apparently we messed with the wrong gang. They went crazy and started attacking us," Dabi explained. He tapped the girls face and gently woke her up.
"Where are we?" She asked.
"Hi, I'm Y/n and I'm going to help you out, okay? Can you tell me about yourself?" I was cleaning the cuts on her arm first. I couldn't start stitching the stab wounds until she was awake and speaking to me.
"My name is Himiko Toga. It's nice to meet you," she answered. I wrapped her arm with bandages and moved to her legs.
"Hi, sweetie. How old are you?" I asked. She was starting to get more awake and that's all I needed.
"I'm 16, how old are you?"
"I'm 22, do you feel any pain?"
She looked at her bloodied badge wildly, "No-no but I'm sure I should? I'm bleeding!"
"Don't worry, it's just my quirk. You're gonna be okay. Dabi, can you dress this real quick? I want to stitch her quickly before she loses too much blood," I asked.
Dabi nodded and grabbed the bandages from my hand. He wrapped her leg wounds as I started to stitch the first stab wound on her stomach. "I need you to keep talking to me, okay? It can be anything, just keep talking," I said. Himiko nodded.
"Well I saw this really cute kitten! It was adorable! It was so small. It was gray with brown spots! I'm gushing just thinking about it! While me and patchwork were on our mission, one of the gang members looked soooo cute! Her hair was really pretty. Almost as pretty as yours! You're really pretty, by the way. I bet you'd look even cuter if you bled a little!~"
"Done! And thank you for the compliments, but I'm not really a big fan of bleeding. Would you like a change of clothes? I can grab something of mine real quick," I offered. Himiko nodded and sat up. I left the room and went to my closet. I tried taking her clothes into account for what she'd like. I settled for a white skirt and pink cardigan with a white undershirt. Just as I was about to walk back into my kitchen, I heard the two talking.
"She's super pretty, and nice! You should totallyyy try getting with her~," Himiko said.
Dabi scoffed, "As if she'd like someone like me. Incase you forgot, we kill people for a living. She saves them. As pretty and nice as she is, no one can look past that fact."
"Ooo so you totally would if the circumstances were different!!"
Dabi shrugged, "Who wouldn't?"
I walk over to them and hand Himiko the clothes. "Here you go, hon. You can go change in my bathroom, it's the first door down the hallway." Himiko nodded and walked to my bathroom to change. I turned to face Dabi. "You okay? Any wounds?"
He shrugged, "None that are too deep."
"I can dress them if you want. I'd rather they didn't get infected," I said. He rolled his eyes but didn't stop me from pushing him into a chair. He had some scratches on his face I hadn't noticed before, along with surface-level gashes on his arm.
"Why do you even care?" He asked. I was cleaning the blood from his cheek. Our faces were only centimeters apart. I looked into his eyes and blushed wildly.
"Everyone deserves to have someone who cares. I'm here to take care of you whenever you need me," I replied kindly. He scoffed.
"I don't deserve this," He said.
"Why not?"
He hesitated, feelings were something he obviously wasn't good with. "You're too nice. And I'm... me."
"I'm not 'too nice'," I replied. "I just... do what I can. Everyone deserves someone in their corner. And, even if I don't support what you do, I'm here for you and whoever else needs my help."
I was done bandaging him and Himiko came out of the bathroom. "I'm ready! Do I look cute?~"
"The cutest girl in the whole world," I replied happily.
"Thank you!" Himiko replied. She jumped into my arms and squeezed me. "Can I have your number? I need more girls in my life."
"Sure, do you have your phone?" I asked.
"Yep! Right here!" She pulled her phone out and handed it to me. I put my contact in and handed it back.
"Feel free to come over whenever. You don't need to be injured to hang out," I said to Himiko. I turned to Dabi, "That goes to you too."
He scoffed, "Yeah, whatever. C'mon, crazy."
He and Himiko left my house. "Take care, be safe," I said to them as I closed the door.
I was walking to my apartment when I saw Dabi standing outside my door. It had been 2 months since we first met. In those two months, he was consistently coming over. I noticed with each time he was less hurt. "Dabi? What's up? You okay?" I doted. I scanned over his body and saw no injuries.
He sighed, "I'm fine, I'm fine. I'm just... I don't know. I can leave if you want."
"What? No, of course not. Come in," I replied. I unlocked my door and let him in. "I was just about to make some dinner."
"What're you gonna make?" He asked.
I rubbed my neck sheepishly, "I was going to make some ramen. Sorry, if I knew you were coming, I would've prepared something."
He just shrugged, "You work long shifts, I don't mind. As long as I'm with you."
I flushed. "You don't mean that."
"Why wouldn't I?" Dabi asked. "You... you're good to be around. I don't know... You... You're safe."
I smiled brightly, "Well, I enjoy being around you too." I finished our ramen bowls and brought them to the living room. I placed the two bowls on the coffee table. I sat down and Dabi sat beside me. Even though the couch was medium-sized and there was way more room, we were shoulder to shoulder. I handed him the remote. "Put on whatever you want."
He nodded and put on a random horror movie. "So, what'd you do today?" He asked.
"Hmm. Well, I went home early because we were double-staffed so they sent me home. Which is so stupid? Like I literally have the x-ray and painkillers built into me. And, get this, my replacement was some girl whose quirk is growing hair. Not to quirk shame, but c'mon!" I complained. "I'm not too shocked though, my manager hates me. We used to have a fling but I broke up with him because he cheated on me. And he's not over me?! Ugh, boys are so stupid. No offense."
Dabi hummed in acknowledgment, "Sounds rough."
I sighed, "Yeah. But it's ok. You're here now. What did you do today?"
"Normal league things. I got into an argument with our leader. I couldn't stand being with him. I wasn't sure where else to go, so I came here," Dabi explained.
"You're always welcome here, you know," I said.
He hesitated. "Yeah. I know."
I don't remember falling asleep, but I woke up with my head on Dabi's shoulder and his head on mine. I blushed wildly. I lightly pushed him off of me and let him lay down fully on the couch. I grabbed a blanket and draped it over him. It was 7 am and I had to work in an hour, so I decided to make a small breakfast. I got instant pancake mix and made a couple pancakes for Dabi when he woke up. I made a few extra on a separate plate for Himiko if he saw her today. I wrote a note for him.
We fell asleep watching the movie last night whoops :,) I made you some pancakes and there should be a few extra for Himiko if you see her today (but if youre extra hungry, feel free to eat them all!! I didn't tell her about them ;) ) visit me again sometime? I enjoyed your company <3
- Y/N
Dabi has been visiting me everyday for the past two weeks. He always came around 11 PM and stayed until 2 AM. Usually, though, we'd fall asleep on the couch. It was weirdly domestic. Whenever I heard his knock at my door, a feeling of unbeatable happiness overcame me. When he walked in, it felt different. I wasn't sure how or why, but something wasn't right.
"What's wrong?" I asked. I did a scan and he had no injuries, which made me even more confused.
"My boss wants to know who I keep sneaking off to see," Dabi said. He rubbed his neck. "He wants to meet you. Everyone does."
"Oh, ok. That's fine. Um they're not gonna like... Hurt me right?"
Dabi's eyes widened. "No. And if they try anything, I have you."
I sighed, "Okay. So like... Right now... Orrrrrr?"
He nodded, "Right now preferably."
"Ok, let me just change out of my pajamas," I said. He nodded and sat on my couch. He made himself at home as he always did. I put on sweatpants and a T-shirt. It wasn't too cold outside so I wasn't worried. I put on my sneakers and walked over to Dabi. "Ready?" He nodded and we left my apartment.
It was a 10 minute walk to his base. In that time he was growing more and more anxious. We were just outside the entrance when I stopped him. "Are you okay? Like seriously, what's up?" I placed my hands on his arms to stop him from moving.
"It's nothing. It's stupid," He said.
"it's not stupid if it's affecting you," I replied.
He sighed. "It's just... God this is pathetic... I just don't want you to like them more... than... you... like... me..." He hesitated on his words as he went on.
I giggled but hid it behind one of my hands. "You're jealous! That's so cute."
He scoffed, "Yeah, yeah. Adorable." He refused to meet my eyes. But I grabbed his face and gently tilted it down to look at me.
"You don't have to worry. I'm not gonna leave you," I said. His eyes lightened and he sighed.
"Whatever. Let's just meet them," He replied. I nodded and he grabbed my hand to lead me inside. Immediately, Himiko jumped in my arms.
"Y/n-channnn!~" She cheered as she spun us around.
"Himi-chan!" I greeted back. "How are you?"
"I'm good! Did you get the cat picture I sent you?" She asked.
"Yes! He was so cute! Did you see the makeup look I sent you?"
"Yesss!! You looked so cute! I loved the red, it almost looked like blood!~"
"I knew you'd like it! That's why I did it!" I giggled. The two of us were holding hands and excitedly talking. Unbeknownst to me, Dabi was talking with a guy with light blue hair; their boss.
"This is the girl you've been meeting?" He asked.
"Yeah. She's something, isn't she?" He had a faint, almost unnoticeable smile on his face. Shigaraki cleared his throat and I turned my attention to him. I forgot about everyone else I was meeting, I was just really happy to see Himiko.
"I'm so sorry! It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Y/n L/n," I introduced. I extended a hand out to their boss, but Dabi pushed it down. I spared him a confused glance before looking back at the boss.
"Shigaraki. Dabi has told us a lot about you," He said.
"All good things, I hope?" I joked lightly. Shigaraki just hummed. I turned to the rest of the League. They were all in their villain outfits. One of them had a full body suit on with the mask being half grey and half black. One of them wore a full suit; the button-up was orange-red and he had a top hat with a mask on. Another was a lizard with purple hair and a red torn up scarf, something that obviously drew inspiration from Stain: The Hero Killer. And the final man was... made of gas? He was purple and black and sort of looked like a weird cloud.
"it's nice to meet you guys as well," I said with a wave. The man in the body suit approached me, and looked me up and down before jumping excitedly.
"Oh it's gonna be so fun to have someone new around!" He said. Then his personality completely shifted. "No it won't. Yes it will. No. Yes."
I just kinda stared at him awkwardly. I looked to Dabi for some help and he pulled me away from him. "That's Twice," he introduced. "He's a little crazy." I nodded.
"No problem! I was just a little concerned," I replied. The lizard man grabbed my attention.
"I'm Spinner. Hey, do you happen to know who the Hero Killer is?"
"I know of him, yeah," I shrugged.
"Do you agree with him?" Spinner asked.
"Well, I think there are a lot of fake heroes but like I don't think anyone deserves to die. I see a lot of people close to death with my job, and each time it doesn't get any easier," I answered.
"You do know who you're talking to right?" The top hat wearing one asked.
"Yeah, you know we kill people, right?" Shigaraki asked.
"Yeah I know. I don't support it. But, my job isn't persecuting criminals; it's helping people. So, even if I could never do what you guys do, I don't hate you or think lowly of you," I explained.
Shigaraki approached me, he placed four fingers on my shoulder and Dabi tensed. "What are you doing?" He asked.
Shigaraki smirked, "What makes you trust us? We could kill you right now."
I showed no fear. I looked him in his eyes. His red ones met my own. "I don't trust you. Nothing is stopping you from killing me. But... I don't think Dabi would walk me into a situation he knew I wouldn't leave from. I trust him and Himiko."
Shigaraki scoffed, his grip on my shoulder tightened. His index finger, which he was keeping off my shoulder, was inching closer and closer slowly. It was as if he wanted a reaction from me or someone else. I was about to say something when Dabi shoved him away from me.
"Quit it, will you?" He said gruffly, clearly annoyed. "You're lucky I even dragged her here to meet your ugly ass."
"Going soft, Dabi?" Shigaraki asked. Dabi didn't answer. He just grabbed my hand and we walked back to my apartment. His hand never left mine.
When we got home and the door was shut, he looked me up and down - as if trying to find an injury. I recognized the habit as one of my own whenever he was at my door. "Hey I'm okay," I reassured.
"The... The reason they wanted to meet you was because I've been talking about you. A lot," he said with a sigh as he lazed about on my couch. I joined him and sat curled up on his chest. These past few months have been the best of my life. He, despite being a serial killer, was safe.
"And what do you tell them?" I ask.
"I tell them I want to be with you," he admits. I could tell it wasn't easy as he hesitated on his words and his heartbeat quickened. I looked up at him.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Yeah. It's not going to be... easy liking me and I get it if you don't like me like that. Except, I might have to kill you cause this is too embarrassing to not kill over." Now, normally if a mass murderer says something like this, I'd be concerned. But Dabi said it in a light way. There may have been some truth but I don't think he'd ever kill me... Right?
"Nothing is ever easy. I thought you were cute the minute I saw you shirtless in my kitchen," I joked. "I like you too, Dabi."
He hesitated greatly at my words. "...Touya. My name is Touya."
My eyes widened, "Woah wait what? Dabi isn't your real name?"
He looked at me quizzically. "No?? What kind of name is Dabi for a baby??"
"I don't know! I thought your parents hated you or something!"
"I mean, you could say that. My old man is a piece of shit to put it lightly. I was sick of the way things were going so I... Faked my death and became a villain."
"I'm sorry, Touya. I can't imagine," I said gently. I sat up from his chest and made him look at me. There was something so cute about him, about us. He closed his eyes and placed a hand on the back of my neck, pushing my face closer to his. I closed my eyes as well and our lips connected halfway.
In that moment, we were eternal. Nothing else mattered. The cars that sped down the street and the dogs that barked, all those noises were drowned out simply by the feeling of being so close to someone else. His hands traveled to my waist and he pulled me into his lap. My hand moved from his face to his shoulder to support myself. We disconnected our lips from each other after a minute, taking deep breaths and admiring the other.
"Maybe I am going soft," He mumbles. I didn't hear him though. I was already passed out sitting in his lap.
Two months into dating and Touya practically lives with me. Some of his clothes were in my closet and drawers, I had his favorite foods constantly stocked in my cabinets and fridge, and he even had his own toothbrush in my bathroom. We were sitting on my couch when I got a call from my sister, I looked puzzled and paused our show.
"[Sisters name]? What's up?" I asked. Dabi was about to ask me something but I held a finger up. He scoffed, crossed his arms, and pushed me away dramatically. "You want me to watch your kid..? Um yeah sure! Drop him off at my house." She hung up quickly after the confirmation.
"Who was that?" Dabi asked.
"My sister. We haven't spoken in 2 years and suddenly she has a kid and wants me to babysit? Ugh," I groaned.
He just hummed. "Do you think she's gonna freak out when she sees my face?"
"considering the fact it's on wanted posters; probably," I loving tap his cheek and he rolls his eyes. I was about to move off the couch but he grabbed my hand and pulled me back.
"Do you want kids?" He asked. It was the question I was both dreading and incredibly excited for.
"I would like some, yes. But with work and everything I don't know if I'd be able to," I replied.
"What? Like it's a one person job?" He teased.
I rolled my eyes. "With the people I used to date, I knew it would've been. How about you, Mr. Murder?"
"I used to think starting a family would be out of the picture for me but I don't know if that's the case anymore," he replied simply. He said it so casually I thought I was reading too deep into things.
"Y-you want to to have a family with me?" I asked.
He shrugged, "I don't know who else I'd rather have one with. Besides, we'd make cute babies."
My sister arrived with my nephew. It was our first time meeting and I'm sure it was likely going to be the last. I brought Kam to the living room and introduced him to Touya.
"Kam, this is Touya. Touya, this is Kam," I said.
"Are those real?" Kam asked, pointing at Touya's face.
"My scars?" Touya asked. Kam nodded. "Yeah, bud. They're real. I got into a really bad accident when I was younger. They don't scare you, do they?"
Kam shook his head immediately. "No! They look super cool!"
Touya smiled. "Yeah?"
"Mhm!" Kam replied with an innocent smile on his face. Touya looked at me with a soft smile of his own. He had a look in his eyes as he played and talked to Kam. It was nothing I'd seen before. His eyes were full of fatherly love.
It was around 5 when the three of us were curled up on the couch. My head rested on Touya's chest and Kam sat on Touya's lap. He had protective arms wrapped around us. Kam was already sleeping and I was about to lull off myself, but then Touya started speaking.
"We should have one," He said. "These couple hours have been better than I could've imagined."
"You know it isn't going to be all sunshine and rainbows, right? If we have one it's gonna be a newborn and it'll cry all the time," I replied.
"Do you not want one?"
"I do. I really do. But, I don't want to force you into a commitment you're not ready for. Kids are a handful."
"I know. But... My life has been totally different these past months and it's because of you. Fuck, princess, I don't know what kind of drug you are but I'm addicted. You make me want to be a better person. But I know even if I wasn't, you'd still be there. You're the best damn thing in my life."
"Look at you getting all sappy on me," I teased.
"Forget it then," He scoffed. I rolled my eyes and moved off his chest to look at him in his eyes. I placed a hand on his cheek and and kiss him.
"I'm only teasing. You're the best thing in my life too. Before I met you, I was just in a constant loop. My days would feel the same and my life didn't feel worth it. Even if you're a crazy murderer, you're my crazy murderer."
He sarcastically smiled and rolled his eyes. "I think I'm the more sane one in this relationship."
"Only because I got you started on meds," I shrugged. "If you're serious, we can have a baby."
"Of course I'm serious. I just... Don't want to be like my dad."
"And you're not gonna. I'm not worried about that in the slightest. I can keep you in check."
"Yeah, I know you can, doll," He breathed out a sigh. He looked down at his lap as Kam shifted to get comfortable. His smile met his eyes as he leaned his head against mine.
I woke Touya up with an at-home pregnancy test in my hand. The two lines on it made me feel anxious. I was worried he wouldn't actually want to have a kid, that maybe he just said it to make me feel better. "Touya," I said as I shook him awake.
"Hm? I'm trying to sleep, princess," He groaned into his pillow. By this time, he was fully living in my apartment. I got new pillows and sheets, we painted the walls, and hung up photos of us together. It really felt like a home.
"You might want to wake up," I said. "Something happened."
He shot up almost immediately. He looked at me and scanned my body as if he had my quirk. Then his eyes fell onto my hands with the pregnancy test in their grasp. He looked at me shocked and then he grabbed the test. He saw the two lines and breathed deeply. "We're going to be parents?" He asked.
"Y-yeah," I choked. "I understand if you don't want me to have it... I know we talked about it a lot but I get it if you... want.. to.. leave..?" I looked down and refused to meet his eyes. He sighed.
"After all this time, you really think I'm going to leave you?" He asked. He grabbed my face and looked at me so sincerely. "We're gonna be parents, princess. I'll leave the league, I'll try seeing what I can do to become reformed, I want to be with you."
"You mean it?"
"Never wanted anything more in my life."
Touya came home from visiting the League with a bruise on his face. I rushed over to him immediately. "What happened?" I doted.
"They couldn't believe I was leaving. Me and Scratchy got into a fight," He smiled. "They want to see our baby when he's born and Crazy says you need to text her."
It had been three months since Touya started his reformation process. It wasn't easy. I was basically a glorified babysitter. He was put on meds that blocked his quirk, something I knew he hated. But he kept going for me. Today was finally the day we were going to see his siblings. His father, Endeavor, was someone he wanted nothing to do with. Even after all the therapy he went through, nothing could shake the hatred he felt. His natural hair was showing now, he stopped dying it black and it was now a bright white. I wore a simple light purple dress and Touya had black jeans and a dark purple button-up on.
"What if they don't like me?" I groaned as we walked to his house.
"I should be the one worrying about that. You're not a serial killer," Touya grumbled.
"Former serial killer," I chimed. He rolled his eyes. I looked up and we were on the Todoroki Family's doorstep. "Are you ready?"
He shrugged, "Only been a decade or so since I saw them."
I huff and knock on the door. A girl opens it, Fuyumi I assume. "Hi, I hope you were informed about our visit..." I asked worriedly. Touya was standing awkwardly at my side.
"No, I'm sorry. Who are you?" Fuyumi asked.
My heart dropped. "I'm your brother's girlfriend, and this is Touya." I introduced the two for him, I knew he wouldn't be able to. Fuyumi's eyes widened.
"Touya?" She gasped. She looked at his scarred face and blue eyes. A look of recognition flashed behind her own.
"Hey, Yumi," Touya replied. He acted casual, but I could tell it was eating him up inside. There was so much he wanted to say, but no words could describe.
"Does Dad know you're here?" she asked.
Touya tensed. "He knows we're here, but I refuse to see him." His sister hummed.
"Well, come in. Tell us where you've been!" She said kindly. She led the two of us in and sat us down at the table. "Nats! Sho! Come down here!"
Touya was growing more and more anxious. He couldn't stop the feeling of anxiety that crawled within him. I placed my hand in his and squeezed tightly, he gently sighed and took deep breaths. Natsuo and Shoto came down, they were expecting dinner and not their long-lost brother and his girlfriend, obviously.
"Who are they?" Shoto asked.
"Touya?" Natsuo said, amazed. Shoto looked at Touya shocked. Natsuo pushed past Fuyumi and Shoto and embraced Touya tightly. I smiled at the sight.
Touya and I sat at the table as he reconnected with his siblings. After the initial shock of seeing him wore off, they welcomed him with open arms. We still hadn't told them the "big news" so to speak.
"We didn't come here just to meet and catch up," Touya said. He glanced at me and I looked down slightly. "Are you two getting married?" Fuyumi asked. I blushed viciously. "N-no!" "Well?" Natsuo prompted. Touya looked at me and I nodded. "She's pregnant," Touya explained. All three of their eyes widened. Fuyumi immediately started doting on me and cheerfully checked over my body. Natsuo patted Touya on his back and Shoto was just stunned. "Oh my god! How far along are you?" Fuyumi asked. "14 weeks," I answered. "I hope you guys aren't too shocked." "Well, our brother comes back from the dead with a girlfriend and a baby on the way... I think we can be a little shocked," Natsuo said. I laughed a bit. "You're having a kid out of wedlock?" Shoto asked. "Yeah," Touya said as he rubbed his neck. "It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision." "At that exact moment sure, but we talked about it beforehand," I rolled my eyes. "Hey, I'm not complaining," He teased. I blushed and stuck my thumb down at him. Shoto made a fake throw-up noise and Natsuo looked away with a soft smile. Fuyumi shook her head.
"How are you going to tell Dad?" She asked. Touya shrugged, "Simple. We're not. He'll find out when he finds out but he won't hear it from either of us." Fuyumi just nodded. "I'm glad to have you back, Touya." "Me too!" Natsuo agreed. "It is nice," Shoto added. Touya just sheepishly rubbed his neck again, he clearly wasn't expecting so much support. "It's good to be back," Touya said.
Our baby woke up crying for the third time that night. It was now one full year since Touya started reforming. He went to all his mandatory meetings, took his meds, and went through extensive therapy. I was about to get up but my white-haired boyfriend stopped me. Even though he seemed annoyed, I could see the love in his eyes from just knowing our baby was alive and with us. He was happy because we had a family. "I'll get him, princess," He said. He pushed me back to lying down and pulled the blanket back over my body. I smiled at him and watched as he went over to the crib we set up in our room. He held our baby in his hands and cradled him tightly as he rocked him back to sleep. After a few minutes, our baby fell back asleep. Touya smiled and gently placed him back in the crib.
Touya crawled into bed with me and held me close. "Thank you," Touya whispered into my hair. "For what?" I asked, snuggling into him further. "Giving me something to live for," He replied.

There you were. Standing in front of a tattoo parlor.
With Eddie Munson.
How you got yourself into this situation you had no idea. Well, that’s a lie. The night before was fuzzy, but you knew you had drunkenly agreed that you would let Eddie take you to get a piercing.
“How did you even get invited to this thing?” you slurred out.
“Even the most outwardly perfect people like to do some crazy shit,” he shrugged. You remembered your friends talking about wanting to try cocaine, and everyone knew that Eddie Munson had the best shit in town. “I’m assuming you partake in such activities?”
“I’m not perfect, but I definitely don’t *hiccup* do that,” you said. He smiled at you from across the bathroom floor where you two were currently sitting. You had the spins, and there were three Eddies talking to you at this point.
“Do you want some water, doll?” he asked, and you involuntarily smiled at the pet name.
“I’m *hiccup* okay,” you said, but Eddie laughed and got up to fill up the red solo cup next to you with some tap water. He handed it down to you, and you caved and took it. You downed the entire thing, which was a bad idea because it made you even more nauseous. You dropped your head to fit between your knees, and you heard Eddie sit down on the floor opposite you again.
“Even if you don’t do drugs, there must be something you’ve always wanted to do that your friends haven’t,” he pressed. You pondered for a minute, then lifted your head back up with a lazy smile.
“I want to get my nipples pierced,” you said confidently. His eyes widened and he raised his eyebrows. “What, it’s hot! Sue me.”
He put his hands up in self defense. “Hey, I’m not one to judge. Why haven’t you done it?”
“My dad would emancipate me, then after that my mom would *hiccup* kill me,” you said. He laughed at your exaggeration, and it caused you to smile back at him. “Plus it’ll probably get me kicked off the cheerleading squad if I roll up with two pieces of metal pressing through my uniform.”
“You could hide it, you know. Just don’t wear tight shirts around your parents and wear a bra to cheerleading or something,” he said. You sat there in thought, and your drunkenness took over.
“You know what? Fuck it, I’m going tomorrow,” you said. Eddie clasped his hands together in approval.
“Atta girl, I didn’t take you for the rebellious type but color me convinced,” he said. Your smile grew wider to match his, and you were feeling more confident with his praise.
“I’ve been known to exceed expectations,” you said, and he rolled his eyes.
“We’ll see about that, sweetheart. I’m going to need some proof,” he said.
“There’s no way I’m showing you my *hiccup* pierced bare nipples, Munson,” you retorted, but Eddie just laughed again.
“I never said that, all I’m saying is that I’ll take you to the tattoo parlor tomorrow and watch you walk in and out. Easy peasy,” he said.
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
So there you stood, frozen outside of the parlor doors.
“Having second thoughts?” Eddie said from beside you. You gulped, and he chuckled to himself. Hearing his laugh made you irritated, and you suddenly started walking forward. “I’ll be out here waiting!” he called after you. You refused to turn around as you opened the doors, stomping your way up to the desk.
You stuttered as you asked for the piercing, your hand shaking as you signed the paperwork. The piercer led you to the back of the shop and laid you back on the cushioned table. You took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself. You wanted to shut Eddie the hell up, but as soon as you saw that giant needle you immediately sat up.
“Nope. No no no,” you said. You practically ran out of the shop to meet Eddie, who was leaning against a light pole.
“That quick?” he asked, surprised. You huffed as he realized you had gone back on your decision, a smirk appearing on his face. “What was that about meeting expectations? I knew you didn’t have it in you.”
“Shut the fuck up, Munson,” you snapped. “That needle is gigantic.” He walked over to you before putting his hand on your shoulder.
“Don’t be scared, it’ll be over in a second,” he reassured you. You didn’t make eye contact with him because you knew there was no way in fresh hell that you were walking back into that tattoo parlor alone.
“Can you come back in with me?” you asked, your voice small. He raised his eyebrows, then his expression softened again.
“Sure thing, sweetheart. I’m only teasing about the expectations stuff, you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to,” he said sweetly.
“No,” you said, your voice firm. “I’m doing this and you’re going to hold my hand the entire time. But if I break it from squeezing too hard I’m not paying your medical bills because this whole thing was your idea.” He laughed and looked back down at you.
“Deal.”
You trudged back into the parlor with Eddie behind you, blowing past the front desk and back towards the table you were just laying on. The piercer was still sitting there, playing with the needle before he looked up at the two of you.
“Eddie! Hey man, how’ve you been?” he asked, and Eddie nodded his head upwards as to greet him.
“You know him?” you asked. Eddie rolled his eyes and pulled down the neckline of his shirt.
“How do you think I got these sweet ol’ tatties, doll?” he asked as if it was obvious. You rolled your eyes and laid back down, your eyes glued to the ceiling. Eddie sat next to the table and took your hand in his, and you felt relieved that he was there with you.
“It’s gonna be just fine, just a little pinch and it’s over,” he whispered to you as the piercer sanitized the needle and prepared the little metal bar. You looked over at him and gave a small smile, and he rubbed little circles on your hand with his thumb.
“You ready?” the piercer asked, and you took a deep breath. You nodded, but as the piercer started to lift your shirt your head snapped back to Eddie.
“Hello? Look somewhere else!” you said. His head turned to face the opposite direction, and you looked back up at the ceiling. “Alright, get it over with.” Your eyes squeezed shut as you felt the pinch Eddie had mentioned, and before you knew it the bar was through your nipple.
“Hey, that wasn’t so bad. You didn’t even make a sound,” Eddie said, still facing the other way. You laughed to yourself.
“What was I even worried about?” you said, gaining some confidence.
“Alright, round two,” the piercer said. You gave him a nod and he readied his needle.
The first pierce was a walk in the park, but the second could have been classified as mideval torture.
“Jesus, FUCK!” you screamed, your hand wringing Eddie’s like a wet towel. His head snapped around to see you. His eyes met your bare chest, and he stared for a little too long before you caught him.
“Eddie!” you yelled again. He shook his head and looked at your face.
“Sorry I- you just blew out my eardrum! Plus you crushed every single bone in my hand!” he defended himself by saying. You were breathing hard, the searing pain of the piercing ripping through your body.
“Look away, damnit!” you shouted, and his head whipped back around to look at the wall. The piercer laughed at the both of you.
“Congratulations, it’s over,” he said in between laughs. You slowly got up from the table, trying not to focus too much on the fact that you practically got shot in the tit. Your hand was still gripping Eddie’s tightly, and as soon as you noticed you let go quickly.
“Can I look now?” he asked.
“Yes, moron,” you said, and he slowly turned around. The piercings could be seen through your shirt, and Eddie looked down at the sight.
“Damn, Y/N,” he breathed. “I really didn’t think you had it in you.”
“You happy? I did it. Now you can’t say I’m not rebellious,” you said, crossing your arms. As soon as they hit your chest another jolt of pain was sent through you, and you hissed as you quickly pulled your arms back down.
“Definitely not,” Eddie laughed. You rolled your eyes, but you couldn’t help the smile appearing on your face. He helped you off of the table and led you to the front. He stopped at the desk as you went to pay for the piercing, but your hand was pushed away by his. He was already handing the money to the cashier.
“What the hell?” you said, looking over at him.
“Consider it a reward for your valiance,” he said, smirking down at you. You blushed as you looked down, and once he was done paying he took you out of the shop.
“Alright, princess, you won,” he said. You gave him a sassy look to which he laughed.
“Thank you very much,” you said, bowing towards him. “Thank you for talking me into it, too.”
“Anything for a friend, plus you look metal with them,” he said. Your face grew red.
“We’re friends now?” you said skeptically. He shot you a look with a raised eyebrow.
“Sweetheart, I just saw your tits in all their glory. I’d be surprised if we weren’t,” he said. You rolled your eyes.
“Whatever, Munson. Just get in the car.” He laughed, and you couldn’t help a smile forming as you walked towards the van.
“So what’re you going to do about the fact that you can totally see those through your shirt?” he said as you got in. Your eyes blew wide as you looked down at the very obvious imprint of the piercings on either side of your torso.
“Fuck.”

Bakugou HC
We know canonically Bakugou is a good pickpocket (chapter 219). Bakusquad learns about it (and some more) gradually.
(It turned out to be long af and drabble-ish, but it’s basically fluffy Bakusquad shenanigans with Bakugou being talented in yet another field.)
It starts with Kaminari who wants to mess with Bakugou a little. They’re studying in Bakugou’s room, but Kaminari is exhausted and wants a break, so he steals the pen Bakugou marks their mistakes with that is currently laying on the table — alone and unprotected, easy prey. Bakugou is distracted at the moment, he’s explaining something to Sero once again. Kaminari hides the pen in the pocket of his hoodie and shoots a smile at Ashido who’s also low-key dying and has asked for break at least three times already.
“Okay, Sparky, your turn,” Bakugou says and Kaminari slides him his worksheet on the table, and then finally looks at him with an innocent face-
-and sees Bakugou marking all of Kaminari’s errors with the exact same pen he did it all this time. Kaminari checks his pockets frantically, but they’re empty.
“Something’s wrong, Sparky?” Bakugou asks in a daring tone not even sparing him a glance. Kaminari just shakes his head, blurting out one nervous “no!”. It’s too nervous to pretend nothing happened, but Sero is too engrossed in correcting his mistakes and Kirishima looks like he’s fully focused on the textbook but while his body is here, his mind is probably fifty thousand miles away, so only Ashido actually notices.
She’s the next one to try to stea- to borrow something without asking from Blasty. She wants to see if it were Kaminari who messed up or if it’s the case of Bakugou being insanely good at something once again. Honestly, is there anything this guy can’t do? So, she decides to kill two birds with one stone. She has an agenda of stealing clothes from her boys to wear them, but she didn’t try to take Bakugou’s clothes yet. It’s a good opportunity to do so.
She sneaks into his room one day, right after school when barely anyone is back in the dorms yet; the excuse of organizing a movie night later at the tip of her tongue if for some reason Bakugou is already in his room. She’s lucky though, because when she enters his room, it’s empty. She opens his closet, pulls out a black hoodie with some band logo on it — it’s the softest one he has, she knows — and she’s about to put it on and leave, when the doors to Bakugou’s room open and Bakugou himself enters. She hides the hoodie behind her back.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Bakugou demands, opening the closet and pulling something out of it. Ashido laughs nervously and avoids looking him in the eye. In this brief second she did, she felt like his piercing gaze reached her soul. She starts to babble — how she was looking for him and about the movie night, it would be great if he joined them — while he goes to the bathroom to change from his school uniform. When he opens the bathroom doors, he’s wearing black hoodie with some band logo on it, the softest Bakugou owns.
Wait.
“Wha-” Ashido checks her hands and sees a dark red jacket she’s not sure she’s ever seen before.
“I’m not gonna be an easy target like Shitty Hair or Tape Face. If you want to have my hoodie, you have to put some fucking effort into it. Now get the fuck out of my room.”
Ashido leaves.
Kirishima and Sero know because Ashido barged into Kaminari’s room, when they were playing video games together. She tells them everything. Kirishima isn’t exactly surprised, his bro is amazing after all.
Kaminari decides they should test it. See if there is something they can steal from Bakugou and have him not notice it. Ashido agrees eagerly. Sero shrugs, says he will help if he can, but mostly will be there as a witness. And a reporter, kind of, with his phone always ready to snap a photo or record a video. Kirishima isn’t sure if it’s a good idea — mostly because stealing isn’t manly — but the rest convince him, arguing that they don’t actually want to steal anything from Bakugou, just tease him, mess with him a little- The point is they don’t have any malicious intent, just want to have some harmless fun and judging from Bakugou’s reaction when Ashido tried to steal his hoodie, he knows it and already treats it as a challenge. So yeah, Kirishima agrees in the end, sue him.
The problem is, Bakugou is insanely good at it. He notices every time and it’s almost scary — whenever one of them have their hands on something belonging to Bakugou and are ready to present it to the rest of the squad, it turns out he already pickpocketed it back. He’s quick, and subtle, and efficient, and although two of these things are normal for him, Bakugou being subtle is somewhat surreal. They don’t really give up, but they stop focusing on it. They try to gain the element of surprise back, so they have to stop for a while. Lull Bakugou into a false sense of security.
They are kinda taken aback though, when Bakugou uses his skills out of his own initiative instead of as a mean to get his stuff back.
They’re sitting in cafeteria during lunch break, and Kirishima gets a text that makes his face as red as his hair in a matter of a second. It doesn’t go unnoticed by his friends.
“Who are you texting? You’ve got a crush on someone? Did they agree to a date?” Ashido floods him with questions, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Kaminari and Sero join the teasing, so Kirishima blurts out hurriedly:
“No! My mom was cleaning our attic and found a photo album from my childhood. She just sent me an embarrassing photo.” He hopes it will calm them down. He forgets one thing.
“Show me!”
“C’mon dude!”
His friends are a pain in the ass, all of them.
“No way!” he screams and tries to keep his phone out of his friends’ reach. He picks up his bag, hides his phone inside, zips the bag and holds it close, as if it was his most precious possession. It kind of is in this particular moment.
“Please, bro. I swear I won’t laugh.”
Kirishima knows it’s a lie. He refuses, stares down at Ashido and Kaminari and Sero (the traitor. Kirishima didn’t expect anything else from Ashido and Kaminari, but Sero? He trusted him) and refuses to give in to their puppy eyes. It’s tough, he’s gotta admit it. And then…. And then he hears Bakugou’s voice.
“I thought it would be something more scandalous given your reaction, Shitty Hair.”
No. He didn’t.
Except he absolutely did.
Kirishima glances, panicked, at Bakugou holding Kirishima’s phone in his hand.
“It’s not that bad, don’t be a pussy.” Bakugou rolls his eyes and puts Kirishima’s phone on the table - closest to Kirishima but not out of Kaminari’s reach. Kirishima sees this little smirk on Bakugou’s face that Bakugou always wears when they manage to convince him to some shenanigans he won’t admit out loud he enjoyed. Kirishima knows Bakugou will use his skills more often, now.
They created a monster.
Luckily Bakugou doesn’t really use his powers for evil. Well, he doesn’t use it for evil on Sero, just on Kaminari, Ashido and sometimes Kirishima, and for Sero it’s enough actually. The number of times it happened doesn’t mean they know everything about his skills though, Sero discovers one day. It should be obvious in hindsight, but Bakugou has this weird talent where whatever he does, whatever new thing you get to know about him, you’re both surprised and not at all, at the same time.
They’re doing groceries together, and they’re getting back to the dorms already, when a villain attack happens. The villain in question isn’t really strong, luckily, but has some weird teleporting quirk that moves random people to random places. They help the hero who arrived at the scene and once the villain is arrested, the hero asks them to stay here a bit longer and help people who weren’t hit with the teleporting quirk find their friends and family. More specifically help some kids, who can’t find their parents now. More specifically Sero and Bakugou are supposed to babysit the kids until the hero and his sidekicks find the missing parents.
Sero sees Bakugou frown but he doesn’t argue. Sero knows kids aren’t exactly Bakugou’s forte, especially not crying kids, so he tries his best to calm them down quickly. It’s not that easy. Sero sees Bakugou’s hand sparkle with mini-explosions. It doesn’t really calm the kids down either.
Finally, Bakugou snaps and points at a little girl with a witch hat on her head and a dark blue cape with yellow stars on it on her shoulders.
“Will you shut up if I show you a magic trick?”
The girl doesn’t look even a little bit calmer, but she hesitantly nods her head nonetheless, her lips still trembling and tears still streaming down her cheeks. Bakugou’s roar, although scaring some kids more (or, like, again; Sero actually made them stop crying and it’s all for nothing now, thanks Bakugou), brings all the kids’ attention to Bakugou. He kneels on the ground and shows his little audience that his hands are empty, then proceeds to pull a coin out off the witch girl’s ear. He shows the coin to all the kids, rotates it holding it with his index finger and his thumb, then closes his palm into a fist. When he opens his palm once again, there are two coins — between his index and middle finger, and between his middle and ring finger. He closes his palm into a fist one more time, and when he opens it, it’s empty again. The kids gasp.
“Your other hand!” one kid exclaims.
“Clever little shit,” Bakugou grins, “You thought you’re so smart, huh? Well, not this time.” He shows the other hand too; both are equally empty.
“Once more!” one kid demands.
“Once more!” the Clever Little Shit agrees.
“Once more! Once more!” the witch girl starts to chant. Other kids join her.
“Fine,” Bakugou says, then pulls out the coin again. He moves it on his fingers, throws it in the air, then catches it in his fist. Once he opens his palm, there are three coins, all between his fingers, minus his thumb. He closes his fist again and once he opens it, it’s empty once more. He looks at all the kids, then at Sero.
“Yo, Tape Face, check your pocket.”
There’s no way, is there?
Sero swears if there are coins in his pocket, he’ll start Bakugou’s fanclub. He’ll build him a shrine, because apparently Bakugou’s not entirely human.
His pockets are empty. Kids moan with disappointment (and to be honest Sero doesn’t know himself if he’s more disappointed or relieved he doesn’t have to build the shrine after all), but Bakugou’s not deterred.
“Well, then maybe you check under your hat, brat,” he addresses the witch girl. She looks at him with doubt but also with hope and takes her hat off.
A dozen of coins fall to the ground. Kids scream — excited, full of awe. Bakugou gathers all the coins from the ground, closes them in both of his cupped hands and shakes them.
“Blow,” he says to the Clever Little Shit. Clever Little Shit does as he’s told and Bakugou opens his palms. There are candies in his palms, the ones that Hagakure likes and of which they got three packages earlier, because she asked. Kids squeal, gather around Bakugou, each takes one candy and there is just excited chatter, no wails for lost parents anymore. Bakugou shows one more magic trick before the hero and his sidekicks appear with the kids’ parents.
The police takes Sero and Bakugou to leave their testimonies, and they’re finally free to go.
“So. Magic tricks,” Sero starts, once they’re on their way to dorms again.
“Shut up.”
“No, dude, wait! It was so cool! You should do it more often.”
Bakugou only grunts something that sounds like “fuck off, I’ll do what I want”. Sero knows Bakugou’s just abashed, because there wasn’t any of his usual bite. He smiles.
He has to tell the rest of the Bakusquad all about it.
Their class gets to know how skilled Bakugou is when one evening they’re all sitting in the common room and Bakugou wants to go to sleep but his friends want him to stay for a movie night. Or, at least one movie. They all deserve a break after a long week full of surprise quizzes! The rest of the class tries to respectfully convince him too, some tell him to “live a little” but before Iida, as the responsible class prez he is, manages to tell everyone that they should respect Bakugou’s opinion instead of flooding him with silly reasonings, Bakugou pulls out a sheet of paper, writes “all the fucks I give” on it, shows it to the whole class (they’re all quiet now, curious what he’ll do, although half sure he will just explode it), then proceeds to make it disappear in a true illusionist fashion.
Some of their classmates lose their shit, some stare in awe, some in shock. Midoriya smiles this soft smile of his, with stars sparkling in his eyes.

(More Hospital!AU)
Though Santana calmed down a little after her conversation with Brittany, she realizes that her anger with Kurt doesn’t fade. She doesn’t want to burden Brittany with it, not while she’s still recovering, and the last thing she wants to do is get Mercedes involved, so she bottles it all up. It scares her sometimes—well, all the time—how her emotions tend to eat her alive, and she fears running into Kurt in the hospital. All she can keep thinking is that he just doesn’t get it. There was a time where she’d drop everything to hang out with him, but now she has responsibilities that she just can’t drop...and she doesn’t want to.
Two weeks go by. Brittany is getting stronger every day, she’s hardly taking her Vicodin and she’s really killing it on the crutches. The Pierces get the house and they go back to Boston to pack up, but Santana feels okay that they’re running the house on their own. With the exception of bath time, Brittany has pretty much conquered everything on crutches. She cooks dinner, she cleans up the house and Santana is so grateful for it.
On the first day of the third week, there’s a knock on her office door. When she looks up, she sucks in a breath. It’s Kurt, and she’s still not really sure she’s ready to talk to him. He hurt her feelings, but she won’t do the weepy thing with him.
“Can I come in?” He asks, leaning against the door frame.
“I...yeah, I guess.”
“So...”
“Yeah.”
“Dave told me I was wrong.”
“And do you agree with him?” Santana raises an eyebrow.
“I...I don’t know.”
“So you came here to tell me you don’t know?”
“Yes. No. I honestly don’t know. You’re my best friend, Santana. I miss you.”
“Well I don’t have time for gallivanting in bars. I’ve got three kids, I’ve got an injured wife, I have to help my in laws move into their new house in a week.”
“You make time for Mercedes.” He mumbles.
“What was that?”
“I said you make time for Mercedes.”
“Because Mercedes recognizes that I have different priorities. Do you think the night Britt got hurt, I even thought about calling you to come watch the boys? No. You’ve made no bones about it that kids aren’t your thing.”
“I would have watched your kids.” Kurt defends. “But that doesn’t mean hanging out with you always has to be with them and Brittany.”
“What do you want me to do, Kurt? You don’t just get to pick and choose when you’re a mother.”
“Other mothers leave their kids at home once in a while.”
“Other mothers don’t have an infant son who might have cerebral palsy. Do you know how much of my mind is occupied by making sure Oliver is okay? That I’m not giving him too much attention and neglecting Liam and Max? You know better than anyone that my mind goes a hundred miles a second, now add the worries of motherhood into that equation.”
“I can’t say I get it, Santana. I don’t know what you’re going through.”
“You’re right, you don’t.”
“Then let me know. Half of the news I get about you, I get about Mercedes and another forty-five percent I get from gossiping interns. You don’t even bother to let me in anymore.”
“I...you’re right.”
“I want to be part of your life. I was hurt when you got married and I wasn’t there. I was hurt when you told Mercedes you were pregnant first. I guess I just feel like I don’t matter anymore.”
“Kurt.” Santana takes a breath. “You’re always going to matter to me.”
“I just...I miss you.”
“I miss you too, Kurt. I’d love to spend time with you, I just wish you didn’t hate my kids.”
“I don’t hate your kids at all. I love them, actually. I’m just not...good with them.”
“Just spend time with them. Come over and have dinner with us, without Mercedes, without anything else. I want to spend time with you, I just have..a lot on my plate right now.”
“Okay.” Kurt more. “I can do that.”
After Kurt leaves Santana’s office, she doesn’t feel like everything is resolved, but it’s a start. And maybe Kurt is right, maybe other mothers can take a step away, but it’s just not something she can do. She spends enough of her time away from her kids at work, she can’t imagine not being there for bedtime, she can’t imagine just...leaving them for something else.
The rest of her day is packed with surgeries. She wants it that way. She feels like Lauren Zizes is on her heels and she wants to be the best. Maybe it’s all in her head, maybe Zizes isn’t interested in competition...but they’re surgeons, so she probably is. After she finishes her last set of rounds for the day, she doesn’t even bother to change out of her scrubs. She’ll just go home and take a shower, have dinner with her family and relax.
When she gets to the house, it’s loud. Liam is shouting, the babies are crying and Brittany looks like she’s at the end of her rope. With one arm holding a crutch, the other cradles Max, trying to settle him and Santana immediately feels bad. Maybe she should have taken more time off, maybe she shouldn’t have left Brittany to deal with all of this while she should be healing. But she insisted she would be fine, she insisted that she didn’t need Maribel to come down and help. Still though...
“Hey honey.” Brittany smiles as she walks into the living room, a shock of hair fallen over her face. “You’re home.”
“I’m home and it looks like just in time.”
“Do you want to deal with babies or Liam?”
“I’ve gotta nurse, if you don’t mind handling Liam.”
“Nope, got it.” Brittany hands Max over to Santana and grabs her other crutch before hobbling into the kitchen where Liam sits on the floor screaming.
“Hi Maxie baby.” Santana coos down to him, then lifts Oliver from his seat. “What’s going on with my boys today, huh?”
“I don’t like it!” Liam screams from the kitchen. “Go away, Mama!”
“Li...” Brittany sighs. “I’m sorry we couldn’t go to the park, I really am.”
Santana’s heart breaks just a little at that. She knows Brittany wants to enjoy the kids while she’s home, but obviously, going to the park is just something she physically can’t do. And of course, it’s impossible to reason with a four year old, especially when he’s been cooped up in the house except on the weekends. It’s clear that Brittany is pained by the fact that she can’t do what she used to do and Santana just wonders if she should have taken more time, despite Brittany’s insistence that she shouldn’t.
“It’s not fair! I want to go!”
“Liam. I told you if you had good behavior today, we would see if Mommy could take you, but you didn’t have good behavior.”
“I don’t want you! I want Mommy Noodle!” He tears into the living room and hops up onto the couch, jostling the twins away from nursing and making them start wailing again.
“Liam.” Santana says firmly, hating when she has to and trying to settle Max and Oliver back on her breasts. “This behavior is not nice and you need to say you’re sorry to Mama right now.”
“No! No! No! No!”
“I’m sorry guys.” Santana murmurs down to Max and Oliver, slowly taking them off her and laying them down. They start to cry again and she has no idea if she’s making the right choice, but she needs to take Liam upstairs, needs to have him sit and regroup in his room. “Let’s go, we’re going upstairs.”
Carrying Liam up the stairs and feeling like her breasts are going to explode, Santana looks quickly over her shoulder at Brittany who has settled on the couch and is trying to soothe the little boys. Liam kicks and screams the whole way up and Santana realizes she hasn’t ever seen him like this. She thinks of something one of her patient’s moms had told her years earlier about the “fuck you fours” and she thinks this might be the epitome of that. Once she’s sitting on Liam’s bed with him, he tries to run out of the room, but she stands up and stops him.
“We’re staying here until we calm down.”
“I don’t want to!”
“I understand that, but when you’re not treating Mama nicely and you’re scaring your brothers, you have no choice.”
He screams and cries until he finally throws himself on the bed and collapses in total exhaustion. It’s early for him to go to bed, but Santana thinks that maybe he needs it. She’s sure Brittany has fed him dinner by now and she’ll just get up a little earlier to bathe him in the morning. Breathing in deeply, she goes back downstairs to where Brittany holds the whimpering twins in her arms.
“He’s sleeping.” Santana tells her, lifting up her shirt completely and taking Oliver, then Max to get them all some relief.
“He’s been like this all day. I just feel so...helpless.”
“I know, he never had a fit like that when I was on bed rest, but I know the feeling of being helpless.”
“I’m just ready for this to be healed. There’s ten million things I want to do that I can’t. Take Liam to the park, help my parents pack in Boston, go back to work...” Brittany buries her face in her hands and Santana aches for her. “I’m just...God, this is horrible but I need to get out of this house. I’m about to go back to work and at least sit in my office.”
“Is that what you want to do?”
“Who knows if Sue will even let me?”
“There’s no reason you can’t run your department. You’re all but off painkillers. Even if you just started with some shorter days. It would probably be good for you.”
“You don’t think it’s crazy?”
“I don’t.” Santana shakes her head. “I’d do the same thing. You know I would have, I begged Shelby to let me do anything. I’ll call my mom tonight and you can see if you can set up a meeting with Sue when I go in tomorrow, that way you only have to take a cab one way.”
“You really are the best, I hope you know that.”
After Santana and Brittany eat dinner, the twins finally soothed, Santana calls her mom while Brittany calls Sue. Maribel is understandably not as thrilled about Brittany going back to work, worried about how she’ll be able to rest and recover, but she agrees to come in the morning. Luckily for Brittany, Sue has a meeting open at eight the next morning, so she’ll go in with Santana, see how things go and then work from there.
After the phone calls, they spend some time with just Max and Oliver, laying on the floor and playing with them. Santana is always so carefully observing Oliver, seeing if he’s catching up, but she knows there’s some rigidity to his limbs. Contrary to his she felt before and at his appointment, she’s reconciled in her mind that it will be okay if he needs a little extra help, that she doesn’t love him any less or love herself any less if he has special needs. He’s one of her beautiful, wonderful, perfect boys and she’ll spend her whole life fighting for him to have the very best of everything.
“I talked to Kurt.” Santana murmurs as she picks up both boys to bring them up to bed. “I’m going to put them down for the night and then we’ll talk.”
Santana looks over her shoulder at Brittany settling in on the couch and she walks up the stairs with the boys. They’re both nearly asleep when she gets up there, but once she lays them down in the bassinet, she can’t help but look over them. Max’s fingers are in his mouth and Oliver has his hand over his eyes and she swells with love for them as they settle into their dreams. She thinks of how they’ll grow up always side by side, how Liam will watch over them and is so grateful for this life she has.
She leaves the room and checks on Liam, glad he’s still sleeping, before she heads back downstairs. Brittany is in the big chair and she has her feet up on the ottoman and Santana is so glad to see that she looks much more comfortable than she has in the weeks past. She sinks down onto the couch, close enough so she can touch her, and runs her hands through her hair.
“Long day.” Brittany says. “For both of us.”
“I’m sorry they were such a handful today.”
“It’s okay, Santana. We both know they have those days. But tell me what happened.”
“He came to my office. It was...kind of a lot. I don’t know, I have this weird guilt thing with him, I guess. He said Dave said he was wrong, but I don’t know, I think it’s more complicated than that.”
“What do you mean?”
“I guess it’s like...I don’t know, you become friends with someone when you’re one person and then you go through these evolutions and you’re just not the same anymore, I don’t know.”
“I think...” Brittany takes a breath and Santana thinks she’s really considering her words. “Okay, I think that friendships evolve with you, I don’t know. Like you two have been friends since med school, you getting married and having kids shouldn’t change that.”
“He was really hurt that we got married without telling him and that Mercedes knew I was pregnant first.”
“I can understand that on some level.” Brittany nods. “But he also knows you have anxiety and have to do things your own way.”
“Do you not think I should forgive him?”
“No, I’m not saying that at all. I’m just saying that I don’t want you coming out of this thinking you’re in the wrong.”
“I’m not, I promise. He started about how other mothers leave their kids to go out with their friends and I...just can’t do that, I told him that. We leave them to go to work and once in a blue moon for a date night, but I love being here for bedtime, I don’t know.”
“What did he say to that?”
“He said he’d come over and spend time with us. Also that he doesn’t hate our kids. So that’s a start, right?”
“I think that’s a really good start.”
“It was easy when we were young, you know? We were all single and getting drunk after twelve hour shifts. But that being said, I wouldn’t trade what I have now for being young. I wasn’t happy, not really.”
“I know, honey. Lately, you’ve been less anxious than you have been since I’ve known you. You’ve found your stride and it looks really good on you.”
“For someone who never thought they’d have kids, I sure am into it.”
“And maybe that’s part of what’s going on with Kurt, you were both kind of on the same page about where your life was going to go and you changed your mind. That’s hard.” Brittany reaches over and takes Santana’s hand.
“I guess, I don’t know, Britt, it’s hard.”
“I know, and it’s okay if you want to stop talking about it.”
“I do. Have you decided if you want to go to Boston?”
“I mean, I feel like we should, I just don’t know what kind of help I’m going to be.”
“Your parents understand if you need to relax. I mean, especially if Sue lets you go back to work. You’ll probable be exhausted by the weekend. And when they get here, we’ll go out to Long Island, I’ll unpack with them.”
“Yeah.” Brittany sighs. “I guess it’s still just a thing for me about Liv’s stuff, I want to make sure it’s okay.”
“They’re going to take care of it, it means as much to them as it does to you.”
“No, I know, you’re right. I’ll tell them tomorrow that we’re not going to go. They said they had it under control. Sorry, I’m just...whatever.”
“It’s okay to be like that, it’s a lot.”
“I know my mom told you I never got to grieve. And she’s right. I’ve got a lot of stuff to unpack.”
“You know you can do it with me, right?”
“I know.” She nods. “It’s just still hard for me to process the way she died. And the fact that she’d overcome so much. She wished for a life where she was happy with a family of her own and she was just getting started. She deserved so much more. I don’t know, we’re new at our family thing and it scares me a little.”
“Like it’ll all be taken away?”
“I don’t know, maybe I just don’t feel like I deserve it. I know you go through that sometimes.”
“But you’ve always been the one who tells me I do. And I’m going to tell you the same.”
“I don’t think I ever got to thank you, you know, for letting me name Oliver after her.”
“You don’t have to thank me. I feel like he has a special guardian angel, I don’t know. I don’t normally believe in that stuff.” Santana shakes her head.
“I don’t either, but yeah, I feel that. I just always think about how she would have been so calm about the whole thing.”
“Britt, you’re so calm about the whole thing. You’ve been a rock while I’ve freaked out. But I feel like we’re in a good place with it now.”
“I can tell. We’ve got this, whatever comes along.”
“I know.”
Santana watches TV with Brittany for a little while and then she showers and they go up to bed. Santana is surprised how infrequently the twins wake up throughout the night and she savors the extra sleep. It may be restless, since she’s still not taking her pills, but she sleeps. When she gets up in the morning, she’s surprisingly refreshed and she rolls over, seeing that both boys are up and gurgling contentedly in the bassinet. Brittany is already out of bed, she hears the shower running, and Santana picks both of them up to nurse. While they do, she thinks about how surprised she is that Liam is still sleeping, but she’s glad he’s getting the rest he needs.
Once the babies are fed, she lays them back down and gets dressed. She slips into the bathroom to wash up and brush her teeth, then she carries them into Liam’s room. He’s slowly opening his eyes and a Santana just looks at her oldest son. He’s had a tough day yesterday, but he’s still just the sweetest boy, and she sits down beside him with Max and Oliver in her arms.
“Hi, Mommy Noodle.” He murmurs sleepily, not opening his eyes.
“Hi, Sir.” She smiles, leaning over to kiss him on the head. “How are you feeling this morning?”
“I feel like I’m ready to go to the park. Can you take me?”
“I have to go to work, but Grandma Maribel is coming over and I bet she’d be glad to take you.”
“What about Mama?”
“Mama’s going to come with me to talk to Dr. Sue this morning. But I promise you this, tomorrow is Saturday and I’ll definitely take you to the park then.”
“Hmmm...okay, what about Maxie and Ollie?”
“They’ll come with us. And we’ll see how Mama’s feeling, maybe she can come too.”
Once her promise is made to Liam, Santana brings the three boys downstairs and puts a waffle in the toaster for her oldest. Brittany comes down the stairs, one crutch under her arm, and Santana smiles at her. Brittany looks beautiful, dressed up for her meeting with Sue and a big smile on her face. With everything that went on with her parents and then her leg, Brittany hasn’t worn that smile of hers in too long, so Santana goes over to her and kisses her, just soaking it all in.
Brittany is chatty on the way to the hospital and Santana is so happy to talk to her, she almost doesn’t want to get out of the car. But they get there and Santana kisses her again outside her office and goes to meet her first patient. She knows she has back to back surgeries all day so she won’t be able to check in with Brittany for awhile, but she hopes that things go well with Sue, she hopes her wife can come back to the hospital and feel like she can breathe again.
The day feels like it lasts forever, and when Santana finally gets back to her office at the end of the day, realizing that she hasn’t pumped in six hours and her breasts feel like they’re going to fall off, Brittany is sitting on the couch and smiling at her. She’s so happy to see her wife’s smiling face that she immediately pulls her in for a kiss.
“You’re back?”
“I’m back.” Brittany grins. “Sue said I know my body and if I feel like I can work, I can work. It’ll be a few weeks before I can go back to surgery, but I’ll take just being here and running my team.”
“That’s amazing, Britt. I’m so glad it went well!”
“Are you okay? You keep rubbing your breasts.”
“Yeah, I’m fine, I just haven’t pumped in basically forever. I’d love to wait to get home and just feed the boys, but I feel like I might actually die if I don’t get some milk out of me. Do you mind?”
“Honey, do what you have to do. I checked in with your mom a little while ago and things are all good over there.”
“I’ve gotta be better about this. My milk is going to dry up if I keep waiting so long to pump.” Santana sighs, closing the door and grabbing her breast pump from her bag.
“How do you feel about that?”
“What?”
“Your milk drying up? I mean I know nursing and working full time has been a lot on you.”
“You know...I honestly don’t know. I told myself I was going to do it for a year, especially for Oliver, but finding time to pump just feels like it’s impossible. I know they have to give it to me, but also I can’t exactly stop in the middle of a surgery to do it. I don’t know.”
“Okay. You know that whenever you’re ready to stop, I’m okay with it, right?” Brittany asks, gently touching Santana’s shoulder.
“No, I know. I guess I’m ready to start thinking about it. It feels weird to say that out loud.”
“The boys are doing great, it’s amazing you’ve been able to keep this up this long.”
“Thank you. But seriously, I want to hear all about your day.”
“It was a lot of scheduling stuff, my team really stepped up while I was out, so there were no major fires to put out. And I was able to talk to some of my long term patients who are still here. It felt good, when I was at home, I didn’t feel...useful. I felt like Liam was always mad at me for not being able to do things, I don’t know.”
“I felt like that when I was home too, so I get it.” Santana nods. “But he loves you.”
“No, I know. And I miss all three of the boys today, but it also felt really good to be here.”
“Our second home.”

Dirty Little Secret | Chapter 3: Bandanas
fuckbuddy!JJ x Kook!Reader
series masterlist | prev. chapter | chapter one
You and JJ are fuck buddies- strictly physical. But what happens when you find yourself falling more and more for everyone’s favorite golden boy even though all he can see you as is a spoiled rich girl?
Your eyes peeled open. You groaned at the lack of sleep as you shifted to your bedside table to check your phone. Almost immediately after your rendezvous the night before, JJ dashed out the window, leaving you to drift to sleep.
Sometimes, you’d get this weird feeling after he would leave so quickly- like you were being used. Well, you were, but you hated feeling like it. It was like a comedown after the euphoria of sex and it didn’t always feel the best, but you dealt with it. It had be going on for almost three months; you were way too in over your head at this point.
You sighed, staring at the wall across your bed, thinking back to the remnants of that first night. How nasty and humid the air felt as you both rejoined the party after like nothing happened:
“You can’t tell anyone about what just happened,” JJ stated as he fixed his shorts.
His words did pierce you slightly, but you put on a front nevertheless. “Please, I’d rather be caught dead than with you.”
He chuckled to himself as you both trudged down the beach. “That’s not what I heard back there princess.”
It didn’t take long for your parents to blow up your phone that night, seeing it was 3 a.m. and their daughter was nowhere to be found. You came home with the smell of alcohol emitting through your clothes. You only hoped you had wiped off enough smeared mascara on the car ride home to deter them. Your mother read you the riot act as Ted stood in the corner of the kitchen. She screamed and hollered before her palm finally came in contact with your cheek.
The following Monday, you ditched last period and drove over to The Cut, hoping to come across JJ. Driving along a narrow street, you see the shirtless golden boy mowing the lawn in a small yard. Pulling up, you rolled the windows down while a devilish grin snaked its way to his lips once he caught sight of you.
“Couldn’t stay away from me huh?”
You glared at him. “Just shut up and get in.”
Shutting off the lawn mower, he hopped in your car, smelling of sweat and freshly cut grass .
“Look,” you began, fiddling with the ends of your blouse, “I’m not looking for anything serious.”
JJ’s finger tilted your chin up to meet his eyes. It was different seeing them in broad daylight. He didn’t seem like some sleazy Pogue you met at a party. He actually reminded you of a puppy... an annoying one with anger issues.
“I understand if-”
“No, I get you,” he answered, biting his lower lip. “After the way we fucked that night, I’m down to... go at it again.”
“Okay but we need rules,” you insisted to which he rolled his eyes. “What’s with chicks and rules?”
“This island is small and talk gets around. No one can know about us.”
“Well duh.” He gave you an annoyed look. “You may think you’re all that and a bag of chips but my friends would totally clown me if they found out I was with a Kook, much less you.”
“Oh please! What do you even know about me?” you retorted, not having his attitude outburst.
“Y/n, you’re like bitchiest of them all,” he replied snarkily and your eyes met the ceiling of your car. “Not even the Kooks like you.”
“Shut up, asshole.” You tried to hide the hurt from the fact that even he knew about your reputation. “Anyways, rule number two: we have to meet on Figure Eight.”
“Hell no, why do I have to haul my ass to you?”
You sighed heavily, gripping the bottom of the steering wheel. “My stepdad will literally kill me if he finds me here. Look, I know all the hiding places there and I’ll even get you a keycard to get in through the gate.”
JJ smiled to himself. “Kill you huh? And yet, here you are, coming here, practically begging for me to fuck you. What will daddy think about that?”
You contemplated punching him in that moment. “Don’t flatter yourself. You followed me that night remember?”
JJ shrugged, leaning back in the seat. “I thought you were a touron. It was dark- sue me. Anyways, fine! We meet at the Eight. Anything else?”
“This goes without saying, but absolutely no feelings,” you stated sternly as JJ snorted.
“Oh princess, you do not have to worry about that whatsoever.”
“Fine then, it’s a deal.”
You both shook on it. JJ held onto your hand a moment longer to tug you onto the passenger seat, colliding his lips with yours. It didn’t take you both very long to undress and climb into the back seat afterwards.
A loud knock on your bedroom door startled you. “Y/n! Breakfast in ten minutes!”
Peeling off your duvet, you leaped out of bed and started doing some small stretches until you noticed a jumbled up grey bandana on your window seat.
“Fucking kid,” you muttered to yourself before reaching for it and throwing it in a bin on your shelf.
JJ was klepto alright. He also had a terrible habit of leaving shit everywhere he went. If he tried to rob a bank, he’d be caught in seconds because he’d leave some trace of him. Over the course of your agreement you unintentionally started making a collection of the things he left. What started out as a bracelet on your nightstand grew to socks, lighters, hats, sunglasses, tank tops, and the occasional perfectly rolled joint (that he’d never see again). You always meant to give back all the shit he left, but he’d always leave so hurriedly that you’d forget and the collection would just grow.
------------------------------
“Jade!” you blurted unexpectedly as you strolled into the kitchen. “What are you doing here?”
The small brunette sat next to your mother at the table, halfway done with her breakfast plate. She flashed you her killer sunny smile as your mom chimed in from her seat. “Jade here was in the neighborhood and wanted to take you on a boat ride this morning with the Cameron family.”
“It’ll be fun y/n!” she insisted, kicking her tiny legs that didn’t reach the floor.
You were a little confused as to why you were invited to hang out with the Cameron kids seeing as they have always ignored you at school and every event. Jade caught on and threw you a look that said ‘just go with it’.
“Um, yeah. I’m really excited to hang out with uh- Sierra and Ra- her brother,” you babbled, earning yourself an ‘Are you fucking kidding me’ look. You shrugged your shoulders, helping yourself to some eggs and pancakes.
“Well sweetie, I think it’s great that you’re getting to know more people around here! Don’t forget you do need an escort for the Debutante Ball in a few weeks so maybe you can ask the Cameron boy to take you,” your mother suggested and Jade nearly spit out her fruit at the mention of it.
You closed your eyes, sighing. “Yes, of course mother.”
“So when were you going to tell me you’re a debutante!” Jade cackled as you both made way to the Camerons’ boat along the dock.
“If you ever mention it again, I will personally slit your throat.”
“You! You y/n of all people!” She had to suppress her laughter to a fit of giggles. “So wait, you’ve been going to Chapel Hill all this time to learn how to ballroom dance and do all that?”
You rolled your eyes. “Yes! I told you my mother is actually insane. Anyways, what are we doing hanging out with the Camerons anyways? I thought you hated their sister.”
“I do,” Jade responded as-a-matter-of-factly, “It’s the brother that’s delicious. Oh- and Sarah won’t be there and neither will their dad or any of their family really. It’s just going to be Rafe and a couple of his friends. He told me to bring some friends too so it won’t be awkward.”
“And you chose me of all people? Jade, you have plenty of other very sociable friends you could have brought.”
“Shut up y/n! You’re hot as shit okay! You just need to get out there more and meet people. Maybe then you won’t hate it here so much. Trust me, once you experience the OBX the right way, you’ll absolutely love it.”
You crinkled your nose at her. “You’re just as insane as my mother.”
“Come on! There are hot guys wanting to take us on their very nice boats. It’s free drinks and maybe some food,” she promised.
You groaned. “Fine, but if any of them make an unsolicited move on me, I’m jumping overboard and swimming home. Also, now that I think about it, isn’t Rafe like way too old to be hanging around us?”
Jade shrugged. “A little age never hurt nobody.” The boys whooped as Jade made her grand entrance onto their very large white boat as you trailed behind. Another thing you weren’t well versed in since moving here- boats. To you it was just big and small, windows and no windows, motor and no motor, but it was like a language here. When everyone would start rambling off about engines and fishing and whatnot you would just kindly smile and nod until they got the hint and walked away.
“Who’s your friend McCoy?” a tall boy with slicked back hair asked Jade as he enclosed an arm around her waist.
“Rafe, this is y/n! She moved here in October and lives on the east end of the Eight.”
So this was the famous Rafe Cameron. You’d seen him a couple times golfing with Ted when you would hide away in the golf cart on your phone. Ted would mention a few times about how he was trouble and, telling by the way he still hung out with high schoolers at almost 20 years old, you believed it.
You smiled uneasily and gave him a tiny wave as two other guys emerged from the front with a cooler. They both coordinated with the colorful short-shorts and printed button ups. They also wore those God-awful tinted sunglasses with the band connecting the backs. You recognized them from school- Topper and Kelce.
“Oh hey y/n,” they greeted tensely, each giving you an awkward smile and one-armed hug. You were in shock they knew your name even.
“McCoy, did you bring anyone else?” Kelce asked, totally not making it obvious of your unwanted presence.
Not even the Kooks like you.
You knew you’d have a hard time the moment you stepped foot onto Figure Eight. You had a very humble upbringing, which was unfathomable to the kids at school, so it was hard for you to make any real friends besides Jade. During the school year, you ate lunch by yourself and sprinted home as soon as the final bell rang. It got to a point where, when anyone would try to talk to you, you’d either roll your eyes or just simply ignore them.
“Nope! Just me and my girl.” Jade flung an arm around your shoulder and handed you a beer. She raised her eyebrows at you to check if you were okay, and you smiled reassuringly, taking the bottle.
“Let’s hope she knows how to hang,” Topper added as he started the engine on the boat.
You sipped on your beer as you rode down the marsh. Kelce tried to make small talk with you as Topper drove and Jade macked on Rafe. It actually wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be, Kelce did have the occasional funny story or witty thing to say even if it was about swinging a golf club or purchasing some extravagant item no one ever needed.
“Woah Pogue alert,” you heard Topper warn as he steered next to a smaller boat hanging on the side
You glanced over and immediately met eyes with JJ who was casually laying back with his friends- two dudes and a girl. When he wasn’t acting like a complete jerk, he actually looked down to earth and kind of innocent. Cans of cheap beer littered their deck and a cute little ‘HMS Pogue’ lettering hung from the back.
You turned back to Kelce, thinking it was just a quick pass by until you heard something thump on the side of the boat from their side.
“Fucking rats!” Rafe barked at the group and hurled an open can of beer over towards them.
“That’s for the van you sons of bitches!” you heard JJ holler as Topper slowed down the boat so they were eye-to-eye.
“Hey that’s payback! I know it was you that fucked up my bike, filthy Pogue!” Topper snarled, pointing at JJ, tumbling more shit in their direction.
The throwing escalated into an all-out war. You screamed and joined Jade who was clearly outraged as she ducked under the cooler for cover.
“Rafe, just fucking drop it and let’s go! You’re wasting shit at this point,” she urged also throwing Topper a stern look to get moving.
“This isn’t over!” Rafe roared at the group as Topper sped up the engine again.
“That’s right, just ride along you fucking Kooks! And take your hoes with you!” JJ shouted.
You threw a glare his way at the vulgar name he called you and stuck up middle fingers his way, sailing off.
Fucking tool.

No More - Chapter 9
Summary: Frankie has been your best friend since you were in the 2nd grade. You were each other’s first’s, he, your first love and as you’d both gotten older you always somehow fell into bed together after one too many drinks with the boys. You don’t know how much longer you can keep this up but fate has other plans for you both and events are set in motion to decide for you.
Warnings: Angst, Blood and Injury, Hospitalisation, Descriptions of childbirth, Smut 18+
Pairings: Frankie/ Reader
~
You’re pulled back by invisible hands as you watch Frankie gasp and choke for air, lips turning a sickly shade of blue and you feel yourself losing control. What was happening? You watch as one of the men that helped him lowers his ear to his chest, closing his eyes in concentration as he tries to listen past the wheezing.
‘Ribs punctured his lung.’ He states as he looks at the man beside him ‘Anyone see an ambulance?’
‘Yeah, it’s coming.’ Chime’s in one of the women that are holding you.
Then you hear the sirens, you hear Brad’s screaming, Frankie’s gasping and Emma’s cries and you feel overwhelmed by the noise. You don’t know what to do with yourself. You bounce Emma in your arms as you try and calm her cries but she won’t stop, her eyes fixed on her dad. Suddenly the ambulance is there and the EMT’s are swarming, getting to work on stabilising Frankie and you decide you can’t watch, you can’t do this again.
‘Ma’am?’ A familiar voice calls and you turn to see the officers that had been looking for Emma ‘Is this Emma?’ Asks the female officer as she smiles at you and your baby.
‘Y-yes.’ You stutter as you try to keep yourself calm.
‘Hello, Emma.’ She says softly as she lets the infant wrap her hand around her index finger ‘You’ve had us all very worried. I’m glad to see you, sweetheart.’
You find her words oddly soothing. She looks at you and gives you a warm smile and you find yourself relaxing a little, able to calm your mind a little from the chaos that surrounds you. You see her partner taking Brad to the police car and you lock eyes with your ex, your blood running cold at the look in his eyes.
‘That should be my baby.’ He growls before spitting on the ground and being roughly shoved in the back of the vehicle.
‘What does he mean by that?’ The female officer asks, noting the sudden panic spreading across your face and placing a comforting hand on your arm.
‘I uh… We’re expecting another baby.’ You state as you finally tear your eyes away from the space that Brad had occupied a few moments ago ‘Brad had been replacing my contraceptive pills with placebos.’
‘It’s not…”
‘No it’s Frankie’s.’ You assure her and she gives you a warm smile.
‘Well, congratulations.’ She says, giving your arm another squeeze ‘He’s going away for a long time. You can rest easy knowing he’ll not hurt your family again.’
‘Thank you.’ You reply as you nod and give her a small smile, before turning to look at the EMT who’s walked up behind you.
‘He’s stable. Few broken ribs, one pierced his lung. Are you going to come in the ambulance?’ They ask, eyes flitting between you and the officer.
‘Yes.’ You reply plainly before placing a small kiss on Emma’s cheek.
‘What the fuck happened?’ Yells a familiar voice and you see Benny and Will sprinting towards you.
You’d forgotten that you’d invited them over this evening but you were so happy to see them both. Their eyes grow even wider when they see Emma in your arms and Ben is quick to pull her from your grasp and hug her tight, weeping as he breathes her in.
'Fuck I missed you Em.' He says as she cradles her head against the crook of his neck.
‘Brad must have seen the baby announcement.’ You start ‘He turned up with Emma and beat Frankie within an inch of his life. I need to go with him will you take care of her. Please.’
‘Of course.’ Nods Will as he takes Emma from his brother and hugs her tightly ‘We’ll get her cleaned and dressed and come by later.’
‘Thank you.’ You give them both a quick hug before sprinting off to the ambulance and clambering inside.
~
He’s going to be okay. Those words keep running around inside your head as you watch Frankie sleep, waiting eagerly for him to open his eyes again. He looks a little better now he’s been cleaned up. His eye’s still swollen and he has a large cut just by his hairline but his face was otherwise okay. His ribs were a different story. Brad had broken several which had lead to one puncturing his lung. You’d been advised that he was fine and that they just wanted to keep him in for a few days for observation to ensure he didn’t develop any infections. They said he’d be out for a few hours due to the strong pain killers they’d given him but you’d sat and waited anyway, hand resting on your small bump. You’d had time to contemplate things. You’d thought about how Frankie had done nothing but put you first in the past few months, despite his internal struggle. He’d cared for you when you were ill and he’d consoled you when you’d learned that you were pregnant again. He’s never once pressured you into anything, just supported you and cared for you and you’d come to realise. He really is in love with you. Once the initial shock of baby number two wore off he’d embraced it, shown you that it was nothing to be ashamed or worried about. That it had been, if anything, a blessing in disguise. Something to hold on to in those hard times and you’d eventually come round to the idea of having another baby with him. Now you couldn’t wait.
‘You’re thinking loudly.’ He grumbles and you practically leap from your seat, grabbing his hand as you watch him slowly come around ‘Where’s Emma?’
‘She’s with Will and Ben.’ You reply, smiling sweetly at him ‘They’re going to bring her around later but I needed to stay with you.’
‘I’m sorry I-.’
‘No shhh…’ You hush as you stand and start to stroke his unruly curls ‘You’ve got nothing to be sorry for. Brad’s gone and we're a family again. You, Me, Emma and this little Bean.’ You finish as you lay his hand on your stomach.
‘We?’
You lower your lips to his, careful not to hurt him and you kiss him sweetly. He doesn’t react at first, shocked by this sudden change but then he’s kissing you back, moaning when your tongues collide and fight for dominance. You pull away, lips swollen and cheeks flushed as you catch your breath and look at him sheepishly. Forming your next words carefully.
‘I love you, Francisco Morales.’ You start, raising your finger to quieten him when he goes to speak ‘And I’ve come to realise that you do love me too. I want to raise this baby with you. I want to raise Emma with you. I want us to be a family.’
‘I want that too.’
‘I’m sorry it took my ex beating the shit out of you for me to realise but I do know now… And if you’re not too fed up of waiting, will you have me?’
‘Definitely.’ He replies, yanking you down into another kiss more passionate than the first.
‘I love you, Lazo.’ He mumbles against your lips and you grin and each other like lovesick teens.
~
You were shocked at how many people turned up for Emma’s first Birthday. You’d decided to throw a barbecue and invited all the neighbours who had helped you when Brad had turned up. You'd become quite close to them all, disaster does bring people together. Those neighbours turned up, bringing along their kids and a few had even invited friends who had children Emma’s age. It was fortunate that Frankie had gone overboard on the amount of food he’d bought. You’d gone all out. A petting zoo in the yard, a bouncy castle which Ben spent most of his time on, with Emma of course, and for the parents a camper van bar that was complete with a vast selection of Gin. You were of course six months along and starting to feel it. You’d decided to combine the party with a gender reveal of the new baby so whatever the colour of the sponge in Emma’s cake was, that was what you were having. It had killed you both to wait this long but you wanted to make it special.
‘When are we cutting the cake it looks amazing!’ Questions Benny as he pulls you into a sideways hug and kisses you sweetly on the cheek.
The cake was amazing. You’d found a bakery in town that made the most incredible cakes and you’d commissioned a zoo-themed cake, Emma loved animals.
‘We’re cutting it in a few minutes. Will’s still okay to film it yeah?’
‘Defo babe.’ He replies ‘I reckon it’s another girl. Fish's got feminine swimmers.’
‘Fuck you, Ben.’
‘Nah I reckon it's a boy.’ Pipes up Will as he swans up beside you all ‘This is a great party sweetie. Got some great neighbours here!’
‘That we do!’ You reply with a smile ‘Where’s Emma?’
‘Over there with Sue. I’ll go fetch her.’ Says Frankie as he kisses you softly.
‘I can’t believe you waited two months to find out what the sex of the baby is.’ Says Will as he grabs the camera and tripod to set it up.
‘Right everyone if you could gather around that dashing gentleman just there with the camera. We’re going to cut the cake.’ You exclaim, making your way over to Frankie who’s waiting with Emma in his arms.
Everyone gathers, smiles on their faces and excited chatter filling the air as Will gives you the thumbs up to go.
‘So this isn’t just any ordinary cake.’ You start as you quickly glance at Frankie and Emma ‘It is indeed Emma’s first birthday cake but inside also holds a clue as to whether she’s going to have a little brother or a sister.’
There are a few cheers and a few shouts of ‘Girl’ and ‘Boy’ which elicit chuckles from you and Frankie, Emma clapping with excitement at the sight of her animal cake. You grab the knife and carefully cut a slice before sliding it underneath and holding the top so that you can lift it and reveal the colour inside.
‘FUCK YEAH.’ Shouts Ben and everyone laughs ‘Knew you had girly swimmers, bro!’
Sure enough, the sponge is pink and everyone erupts into cheers and claps, Emma screaming with excitement although probably to mirror everyone else reaction. You place the cake down on a plate and turn to face Frankie and Emma, grinning at them both as she wriggles in his arms.
‘You’re going to have a sister Bean!.’ You say excitedly as she claps her tiny hands ‘Sorry Frank. Maybe next time.’ You wink as you kiss him softly.
‘Next time??’ He exclaims ‘How many kids you planning on having?’ He chuckles as you kiss him sweetly before kissing the top of Emma’s head.
‘Maybe one more.’
‘Congrats Guys.’ Says Will sweetly as he gives you a friendly kiss on the cheek and a hug before turning to Frankie ‘Are you excited Emma?’
She giggles at Will’s question and he laughs at her reaction.
‘She doesn’t have a fucking clue what’s going on man.’ Frankie jokes as he kisses the apple of her cheek ‘Do you Princesa?’ She reacts the same way and everyone laughs a little harder.
~
You're a week late now and you're miserable. You've tried almost everything you can think of you coax the little one out but she's having none of it.
'It's her stubborn Latino blood.' You grumble as you rub your aching belly.
'Hey don't go hating on Latinos!' Frankie chuckles 'Look at Emma! She's the happiest baby on the planet.'
'Yeah... I'm convinced you're giving her pot when I'm not around.' You joke 'It's not normal for a kid to be that laid back. They certainly shouldn't love nap time as much as she does.'
'That, she got from me!.'
'No arguments there.' You reply with a wink.
Frankie booms at that and you laugh along with him before pushing yourself to your feet and waddling to the kitchen.
'What are you doing?'
'Making myself some tea Francisco.'
'I can make it for you.' He says as he walks up behind you and rests his hands on your hips.
'I do nothing but sit and bake this child. Let me make some tea.'
'You do look particularly beautiful today.' He growls in your ear as he pulls you closer to him.
So you'd learned for definite with this pregnancy that Frankie has a pregnancy kink. He couldn't get enough of you and you'd be lying if you said you could get enough of him.
'There's one thing we haven't tried.' He whispers against the shell of your ear as his hand slips down the front of your legs and he strokes a finger along your sex.
'We should try everything we can.' You mumble as you feel your arousal pooling in your core.
'Definitely.' He purrs as he slips two fingers into your heat.
He starts painfully slow and soon you're begging for him to speed up, one hand laced in his hair as the other holds onto the counter for support. He does as you ask and within minutes he's pulled an orgasm out of you. You shiver as he pulls down your leggings along with your panties before you finally kick them off and then you gasp when you feel his length nudge against your folds. He grabs your hips and pulls you back a little, wrapping an arm around you to support you as he pushes himself in. You both gasp together at the feeling, taking a moment to revel in each other before he's snapping his hips back and forth. His pace is maddening and you soon feel yourself approaching another peak, eyes rolling back as he hits that spot inside perfectly with each rock of his hips.
'Shit.' You whimper as you cum hard, your release gushing over him and dripping onto the floor.
'Fucking hell.' He breaths as he speeds up, chasing his release as he tries to pull just one more out of you.
You cum together, moaning loudly as you both hold onto the counter for support, legs shaking from the mind-shattering orgasms you both had. As Franke pulls you he grabs a cloth from the side to clean you up.
'How long does it take to work?' You ask, chuckling as you lean against the counter.
Frankie simply shrugs, pulling up his trousers before bending down to do yours.
'Um, babe.'
'Yeah?'
'I think it worked.' He states and you look down to see a pool of clear liquid beside the one you'd made during sex.
'Great!'
~
Frankie and Will help you to the car as you try to breathe through the contractions, Benny holding onto a fussy Emma who’s trying to wriggle from his arms.
‘You can’t go Em but in a little while you’re going to be a big sister.’ He says softly in her ear as he watches Will and Frankie help you into the car ‘Until then we’re going to play and eat cake.’
This seems to grab her attention as suddenly she’s beaming at him and he chuckles as he looks into her eyes, Frankie’s eyes. He looks up when he notices Frankie sprinting towards him, looking a little frantic as he plants a kiss on Emma’s forehead.
‘You sure you’re going to be okay?’ He asks as he looks at Ben with a panicked expression.
‘We will be fine man.’
‘I’ve left instructions on the table and all her-.’
‘Go before she gives birth in the car.’ Ben interrupts, patting his friend on the shoulder ‘We will be fine. Call us when the baby's here!’
‘Yeah.’ He nods, kisses Emma again and then sprints to the car, cursing in Spanish when he forgets it's a button start, not a key.
The drive to the hospital is chaotic. Your screaming means that Frankie’s swerving as he tries to keep you calm and focus on the road. It’s no surprise when the flashing lights appear and he’s being pulled over but as soon as the officers see you, red-faced and furious in the passenger seat they’re soon escorting you the rest of the way.
‘Well, this is something to tell her when she's older.’ He jokes and you managed to let out a small laugh before another contraction tears through you.
‘FUCK!!’ You scream, knuckles going white as you grip the dashboard in front of you.
‘We’re almost there baby.’
Sure enough, 3 minutes later you’re pulling into the hospital behind the flashing cop car, a nurse with a wheelchair waiting for you.
‘Wow, door service.’ Frankie jokes but you’re in too much pain to see the humour now.
He hops out of the car and runs around to your door, helping you out and into the wheelchair that’s been pushed over.
‘You head in, I’ll park your car for you.’ Says the officer and Frankie is quick to toss him the keys ‘I’ll leave them at the nurse's station.
‘Thank you so much.’ Frankie says as he shakes the officer's hand before following you inside.
You’re quickly taken to a private room, the nurse helping you out of your clothes and into a gown before she, along with Frankie, helps you lay down in the bed.
‘A doctor will be along shortly to see how far along you are.’
You can only nod, tears streaming down your face as you try to breathe through it. This is the first real labour you’ve experienced as you’d passed out during Emma’s. It’s hell and you’re pretty sure you’re crushing every bone in Frankie’s hand but he doesn’t complain, just stands there and takes it.
‘Right I understand a baby is coming.’ The doctor jokes and you glare at him but Frankie laughs.
‘She’s not in the best of humour right now.’ He says and you do manage a chuckle at that.
‘Right well you’re around 8 cms so she’s well on her way.’ He says, giving you both a smile 'I’ll be back soon so see how you’re getting on.
Another half an hour and you’re in the delivery room, holding onto Frankie’s hand for dear life as the doctor tells you to push. You do. Over and over you push until suddenly your screams are replaced with the cries of your newborn daughter and then you sob, your whole body shaking with exhaustion as the nurse hands you your baby. Frankie wraps his arm around your trembling shoulders and rests his chin on your head, looking down at the tiny infant in your arms and he suddenly can't stop the tears that fall. Neither of you had been able to experience Emma’s birth so this was a truly special moment.
‘Has she got a name?’ The nurse asks you both and you suddenly realise you hadn’t agreed on one.
Looking down at her you see that she too has Frankie’s dark hair and golden skin tone but it’s a little early to tell who’s eye’s she’s inherited.
‘I think she looks like an Ava.’ You say as you look lovingly up at Frankie.
‘Yeah.’ He replies, returning your gaze ‘I think so too.’ He finishes before kissing you sweetly.
~
‘Right you all ready?’ Calls out Will as he gets the camera connected up.
‘Yes.’ You all shout in unison.
‘Ava and Emma are getting fussy. Hurry the fuck up Bro.’ Grumbles Benny as he holds a bouncy toddler in his lap.
‘Right.’ Will sprints over to where everyone is sat patiently waiting for him to get the camera set up.
You are sat beside Frankie, his arms around you as you cradle Ava in yours and Ben is then beside him with Emma. Will sits down next to you and clicks the shutter button on his phone before telling everyone to say cheese. The shutter goes and he brings the image up on his phone.
‘First time!!’ He exclaims and you all breathe a sigh of relief before.
‘Pool!.’ Emma shouts at her uncle Ben and he chuckles.
‘Why couldn’t your kid’s first word be normal?’ He chuckles as he chucks Emma in the air and catches her.
‘POOL POOL POOL!.’ She keeps squealing and Frankie grabs her from his friend.
‘We don’t have a pool but you can have a bath?’
‘NO!.’
‘Well, that’s a new one.’ He chuckles as everyone looks at her in surprise.
‘Where did she even learn pool from anyway?’ Enquires Will as he plugs his camera into his laptop.
‘Greg across the street had one put in and he invited everyone round last weekend.’ States Frankie as he pops Emma down and watches her waddle towards Ben ‘Turns out she’s part fish.’
‘Seems apt when her dad is called Catfish.’ Ben jokes, his brother snorting in response.
Frankie just rolls his eyes, chuckling to himself as he gathers the cushions and throws you’d decorated the bench with. It had been Will’s idea for the ‘family photo’ as he’d put it and you’d thrown yourself at the idea. Frankie had never been one for photos but he liked the idea of putting it on the wall amongst the photos of you, him and his family. You had ended up selling your house and moving into his. It was larger and better suited for a growing family but you’d also liked the idea of your children growing up in the same house that you and Frankie did. It felt like everything had come around full circle. All the pieces of the puzzle had fallen into place and now you were exactly where you were meant to

I've been thinking about slytherin! Tsukishima dating a slytherin! S/o who joined the death eater because their parent force 'em. And they were so depressed and always crying every night, then tsukishima noticed and then comfort 'em. They ended up ran away with tsuki and joined the battle of hogwarts to fight against voldemort. Oh my god i love this>-
Okay I love this PLUS I’m a Slytherin (according to Pottermore) BUT I have a confession
I never finished the Harry Potter series bc I couldn’t be bothered w Order Of The Phoenix THERE I SAID IT SUE ME UNFOLLOW ME IM A DISGRACE
I DID watch almost all the movies though
But don’t attack me if this one isn’t like 100% canonically accurate though please I cannot
Btw I’m not gonna do the fight YET I might make a part two idk lolol it’s a bit too much for one fic and I need to go read a summary of the fight-
Run away with me// Slytherin!Tsukishima Kei x Slytherin!Reader
Word Count: 1800+
Warnings: None
Summary: Controlling parents are never good, especially when they force you to side with evil.
“They forced you to do what?” Tsukishima was beyond furious. Fuming. He was absolutely ready to murder your parents if you didn’t do it first.
“Kei, stay quiet! They’re gonna kill us both if they hear you!”
“Do I look like I give a flying fuck right now?”
You looked at the floor, the guilt slowly consuming you as you avoided his piercing glare. How could you face him, when you broke such a huge promise you made to one of the most emotionally unstable people you know? Fiddling with your fingers, you racked your brain, hoping to find a sensible explanation for what you did. “I didn’t have a choice! You really think I would give up on everything? Give up on you, my friends, my education, my hopes and dreams, just to fight alongside Voldemort? You seriously think I would be heartless enough, to kill innocent wizards?” If anyone was around and heard your words, you would’ve been sent to Dumbledore instantly, maybe even gotten executed for treason. Just the slightest mention of He Who Shall Not Be Named, or the death eaters, was enough to trigger almost all the staff and students, especially with the situation going on in the wizarding world currently. With Voldemort back from the dead and on the loose, Hogwarts has one upped their security, the atmosphere tenser than ever.
Hearing the click of a door, Tsukishima clamped his large hand over your mouth, the other gripping your waist as he pulled you into the tall grass, putting a finger over his lips. From the hut, stumbled out a wobbly, possibly drunk Hagrid, a huge ass axe in hand. “WHAT’S THAT EVIL SHIT YER TALKIN’ BOUT HUH? COME ON OUT MUGGERS! I’LL GIVE YER A PIECE O’ THIS!” The man swung the axe from side to side, as if he was expecting it to hit someone. Not seeing blood on the blade, the shaggy haired wizard mumbled a few curses, swinging the wooden door open as he stumbled back in, tripping on his own two feet as he dropped the axe far away, the blade sinking itself into the wooden material of his little hut. Scrambling back to his feet, he grabbed the doorknob angrily, slamming the door shut with a heavy thud and a gust of wind.
The blond poked his head out slightly, looking around to check for people that might be lurking in the darkness. Sighing in relief, he sat himself back down on the ground, crossing his arms. Sweating, you bit on your nails nervously, anticipating his next words.
“Why was I in the dark about this?”
“Because you would leave me.”
His brows knitted together in confusion and pain.
“I won’t. I’m just mad.”
“You would if you knew more about me.”
Tsukishima may be a Slytherin, but that didn’t mean he wanted it. You saw the incredibly disheartened look on his face when the sorting hat blurted out the house. He refused to talk to anyone for days. He got in trouble countless of times for talking back to Snape. Everyone, even you, hated him. He was disrespectful, irritating, provoking, and inconsiderate to everyone that crossed paths with him. It wasn’t until months later, did you realise the reasoning behind his rotten attitude for his house. A fight broke out between Hinata and Tsukishima, with Hinata screaming about how the latter had no right to be disrespectful to his seniors. That was the exact moment, when the entire school was graced with his story. Later that night, you approached him, apologetic for your attitude towards him and hoping to understand more. Turns out both his parents were killed by death eaters. He was eight, and watched as his parents burned to ashes in front of him, the two murderers laughing to the screams and cries of agony. He was quick to run to safety, the two wizards too occupied with killing his parents to pay any attention to him. Since then, he’s never had a proper home, running errands for whoever would pay him even just the minimal amount of money. His dream was to get into Hogwarts, and kill the ones that eliminated his parents from the world, but his one condition was to never get into Slytherin. He was not going to associate himself with those disdainful, cold blooded murderers known as the death eaters. It wasn’t a surprise he would be furious about this.
You were now a shaking mess, not even noticing the tears that were streaming down your skin. The moon reflected off Tsukishima’s glasses, a look of fury and sorrow buried in his dull irises. The two of you sat in silence, not knowing what to say to the other. You cursed yourself. Why did fate have to do this? Why did fate have to send your soul to a pair of death eaters? The two death eaters that bragged to eight year old you about the victims they tortured, and eventually murdered, masking the truth and portraying it as if it was something to be proud of? Why did you have to fall for their victim’s son? Why were they so goddamn desperate to turn you into one of them? You’ve known all three of the Unforgivable Curses since you were merely a preteen. You constantly feared for your life in Hogwarts. You knew how powerful your parents were. If you disobeyed them, they could’ve had all your friends, everyone you’ve ever cared for, dead in a heartbeat. As a result of that, you never revealed anything about your family, not wanting to give anything away. However, that didn’t work with Tsukishima. Infatuation is a dangerous feat. Before you knew it, the two of you were meeting in Hagrid’s field every night, getting to know each other better. Your parents being death eaters accidentally slipped out one night, and for the next week, Tsukishima refused to talk to you at all. He avoided you everywhere, sat as far away from you as possible at dinner, left you waiting for hours in the field. And yet despite his cold attitude towards you, not once did you leave him alone. Maybe that was what he really admired about you.
A sob erupted from your throat, breaking the silence of the dark, cloudless night. You were done. You were done with this. You were done with hiding your problems from him. You were done with hiding your past, your parents, your feelings, everything. The suffocating guilt, the strained throb of your heart, you were sorry. You were sorry for not telling him anything earlier on. You hated yourself for being born to two cold blooded murderers. You hated yourself for acting weak in front of him right now, but the chord just snapped. The thin, thin chord that held your emotions just gave out, and you burst into tears. Hot, salty, flowing tears. You fell forward as your hands held you up, head bowed down and shaking. Your tears wouldn’t stop, flinging themselves onto the floor as Tsukishima just stared.
“WHY? WHY DID I HAVE TO BE BORN LIKE THIS? I CAN’T DO THIS! I DON’T WANT TO! I HATE THEM! MURDERERS! FUCKING KILLERS! I CAN’T BELIEVE THEM, SERIOUSLY! OH, AND WHY, OF ALL PEOPLE, DID I HAVE TO FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU? WHY YOU? YOU SHOULD HATE ME! THAT’S HOW IT SHOULD BE!”
Salty droplets clumped up in your eyelashes, rolled to the corners of your lips, into your mouth, you could taste the warm liquid on your tongue. The blond was frozen. Never had he ever seen you like this, crying and wailing as you put yourself down for something that was out of your control. He was confused, because one thing lingered in his mind.
“I should hate you? What are you talking about?”
Chuckling hopelessly, you sniffled, enjoying the last few seconds of his obliviousness.
“Oh yeah, I never told you. My parents killed yours and bragged about it at home afterwards. I was eight.”
Something in Tsukishima’s heart dropped as his mouth staggered open. “Your parents were the killers?” You continued to laugh manically, screams emitting from your throat despite feeling empty inside. “Yeah, so hate me. Leave me. Don’t make yourself suffer any more.” Tears glistened in his eyes as his words got caught in his throat. Her parents were the murderers. Let her go. She’s becoming one of them as well. “Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!” Gripping his head, Tsukishima screamed, trying to block out the deafening voice in his head that urged him to just get up and walk away, break all ties with you, throw everything into the abyss, never to be seen again. The thoughts were dizzying as he fell to the ground, curled up. “I’m...sorry. I’m so, so... sorry.” His cries of agony never stopped. Desperate to comfort him, you slowly got up to your knees, leaning forward and grabbing his shoulders as you forced him to look at you. Your eyes were desperate, shaking and watery. “I don’t know what I’m gonna do. I don’t want to become one of them. I don’t care if you hate me, or leave me, or kill me. You have all the right reasons to. Just please... help me.” What you expected, was for him to fling you away. What he did, was lunge forward, arms wrapping around your neck as his head landed on the side of it, tears making your skin wet as he continued to cry.
“Kei, I’m so sorry.”
No reply.
“It’s okay, I’ll love you even if you don’t feel the same way anymore.”
“No.”
His mumble sent vibrations down your neck, waking your entire body up. Strained breaths made their way into the cold night air. Wrapping your arms around him, silent tears continued to roll down your cheeks as you held him tighter, refusing to let go.
“Run away with me. I’m done with all this. I’m not gonna leave you, ever. I love you. I don’t care if your parents killed mine, or if you’re being forced to join the death eater. Come with me. We can run away to who knows where. No one will find us, maybe finally we’ll be free. We can get fake identities, hide in the city, I don’t care. I’ll keep my owl here, when the school finally fights the death eaters, he’ll tell us, then we’ll come back. I’m sick of constantly waiting for evil to knock on our door. Let’s just go and live how we want. Run away with me, (Y/N).”
An arm extended towards you, willing for you to take it.
“You’re absolutely insane Kei, I’ll come with you.”
Grabbing his hand, you hoisted yourself up, giving him another tight hug.
“You wanna go now?”
“Yeah, let’s just go.”
And the two of you run.
You run, and run.
Away from the school.
Away from your friends.
Away from your belongings.
And you don’t stop.

Grandfather’s thunder. (Drabble)
A little forewarning before I post this. What this will contain is possibly some gore, a lot of violence, and the full unbridled rage that my character, Dave the Alicorn will have.
You will see one of the reasons why I mostly now keep him as a side character. On why its where I know he feels content. His adventures may be over, but, you’ll see the power he holds, and why he’s careful on how he uses it.
Oh I know, this sounds rather tacky. But the Mary Sue perspective is still there, and I am just here to remind those that read this; He earned this. This will go under read more.
After Dave had arrived to his destination, he had quickly gotten a sit-rep on the situation.
Xerneas had finally come to claim Night, saying that he was finally due. The reason why was also told rather quickly to Dave, as the stare he gave everyone was a look that would chill even veterans to the bone.
With all of this information relayed back to him, Dave gave a snort. He didn’t say anything more, which was perhaps, even more frightening. After that, he left.
Not long after he left, Joseph and Morgan had returned, and Joseph had gone to see how his boy was doing, and the result that he didn’t want to hear was rather blunt; poorly.
Of course this infuriated Joseph, and he wanted to do something about it. But, upon hearing that his father had been here, and how he had acted, it seemed all the wind in Joseph’s sails had gone out of him. He looked. Well he looked pale. Like what he was being told was something he hadn’t wanted to hear right away. And the only thing he would, or perhaps could say was; “Shit.”
After that, no one knew where Dave went. He had just picked a direction, seeming at random, and gone over there. What they didn’t know, was that it wasn’t random.
He had picked up on the magical trace of walking tree of life. He had bound himself to it like a bloodhound on a scent, and now he was going towards it.
He had to walk for many miles before he finally came to a stop. His calm exterior had never ceased, but he was finally face to face to the tree of life.
The deer looked imperiously at Dave, giving him a haughty, superior look.
“I know why you are here.” Said Xerneas. His tone haughty and his face one that you might make when looking at a particularly nasty stain. “You cannot save the boy, no matter how much you plead or bargain. His time has come, I will have him meet his final end.” Xerneas said firmly. Not pleading, or demanding, but resolute in his statements and in his actions.
Yet, still Dave said nothing. He was only staring at Xerneas, as if waiting for something.
Finally, he spoke; “Are you done?”
Confused, Xerneas looked at Dave like he had grown a third head. Taking the silence as confirmation, Dave gave a grunt that seemed to say; “Finally.” And put his terms into a firm no nonsense tone.
Too bad for him, Xerneas didn’t see it that way. The boy must be claimed, nothing else mattered. He was a paradox he could ignore no longer.
“You will cease this at once, and help us return the boy’s soul back to his body. You know as well as anyone that young Night’s life was cut short, and he was saved. Your judgement is flawed, and your actions folly.” He stated, this was his only warning to Xerneas, and the life deer could tell that it was an ultimatum. There was no need for clichéd “Or else” or other such threats. Dave was being clear on what he wanted.
“I have felled greater Kings then you, demon.” The life deer said in a scowling snort.
“And I have felled much greater gods, and sycophants, then you.” Was Dave’s reply.
Before the deer could get a word in again, his sneering scowl turning into a outright hostile glower, he found himself face to face with Dave. Whom had appeared out of nowhere, his mane suddenly aglow with energy and electricity. His hue a darker shade of blue, and the aura around him, the power was a greater magnitude then he had thought.
With a great kick, Dave sent the deer flying backwards! Smashing trees, driving logs of branches into the deer as he shot back. Coughing out blood, the deer god got up and started to pull out what he could, his hide healing up. If he wasn’t a Legendary, then that kick would have killed him in an instant, but he hadn’t and he was a Legendary. All of which though didn’t save him when the earth around him cracked and spears of earth spiked through his chest, splattering blood everywhere, and he felt himself being kicked again by a force greater then before.
Again he was sent flying, his body healing before he landed, only to be scoured yet again with meaty chunks left in his wake as he skidded to a halt.
He wasn’t given a moment to breathe as spells and kinetic force battered the deer god in every which way. The clouds around them had darkened and the world around them suddenly felt like it was in the eye of a great typhoon.
The body of the deer was rocketed upwards as something beneath him exploded with a tremendous force. Unearthing trees and dirt and bits of shrapnel that dug into his hide.
Even electrical attacks rained down on the life deer as the clouds seemed to fire the bolts like spears. They pierced his hide and he could feel his wounds heal and begin anew.
He was kept aloft by a force battering him like he was nothing but a toy in a child’s grasp as he was tumbled hither and thither by a force that broke his bones again and gain. Tore ligaments away as they healed over and over.
Dave was propelling himself forward on magic and force, his frame going at speeds unseen to the eye and he was beating down the life deer with everything he had. Using his teleportation magic to re-orientate himself as he went again and again. Making the body he was pounding with magic and force tumble in the air. Unable to scream, to cry, to do anything as he used his magic to its fullest abilities. The winds themselves seemed to help keep the body aloft as Dave showed no mercy nor quarter.
The air was filled with the blasts of magic as Dave’s horn lit up like a star and he used every ounce of mana from his deep pool of magic to render naught but pain and misery on his foe.
But like all things, it had an end, and a purpose. Dave knew he couldn’t kill the deer, but that wasn’t the point. The point was subduing it. To render him so immobile by force alone that he would need to listen.
It wasn’t a method Dave was proud of. Nor was it something he reveled in. But actions had been set in motion, and weather he wanted it or not, this was the end result.
None could say that Dave wouldn’t go to great lengths to save his family. He had had enough losses in his life when it came to family. And he didn’t want his son to feel the loss of a parent. No parent should be the one to bury their children, or find them lost to naught but the ether of the unknown. It was this that drove his actions, and he would make this deer heed.
With a final kick down on the deer, he shot the body downwards to a tree. The impact alone drove the whole tree through the deer, the body stuck against the tree trunk, even as the ground beneath it cracked, and the body of the tree split in twain.
A dust cloud filled the area, and Dave finally landed near the crater he had created with that final move.
Dave was panting from the exertion. He had after all, used up a lot of mana. But he calmed himself as best he could and approached the crater.
He could hear whet couching as the head of the life deer came to view, the rest obscured by the dense cloud of dust.
“You.. Will.. Not succeed.. I will still, come for him.” The deer couched and hacked as he gave Dave a determined and enraged look. “This, will only temporarily set me back.” He growled, and the noise of a tree trunk breaking could be heard. “Or perhaps, should I say. Not at all, because you are in my field now, fool!” He roared, and the deer lunged out of the cloud, his own abilities fired up as trees and vines got ready to wrap around Dave, but they were cut away by magic and fire, even with so much spent, Dave was still willing to fight to his last breath!
Now the two charged at one another, when there was a youthful cry of; “STOOOOOOOOOP!” And the feeling of something hitting them both.
Since neither were expecting it, the sudden blow tumbled them both out of each others reach. The magical blade that Dave had formed swung high, and instead of severing the deer’s head from his neck, it cut a tree in half without so much as a hesitation. Like a hot knife through butter, the tree fell away.
Xernias had been ready to lower his horns into Dave’s sternum, ready to scewer him and wrap him in thorny vines and rip the stallion bit by bit. But his blow missed.
The one who had yelled was a boy. No, not a boy. He was a youthful Alpaca, maybe just shy about his teen years. And he looked like... Arceus?
“Stop! Please, stop!” The Arceus, or rather The Arceus? Pleaded with them both.
“You don’t need to do this, please!” He pleaded again as he got in-between the two of them. Acting as a barrier between the two rowdy and clearly hostile entities.
“Archibald, get out of the way!” Dave commanded, yet the boy didn’t yield. Still he stayed there, trying to keep with them as they tried to circumvent and get in for the attack. Both snorting, kicking hooves and cloven feet. Making noises of their species as they got ready to finish this fight, one way or another.
“I said, STOP!” Archibald said, and his voice rang with all the authority he could muster, and the two beings buckled under an unseen force.
“Please.” He pleaded again. “Please. No more. I don’t want this. No more.” He pleaded, his voice hiccuping in tears as he looked at the two. “Please, Xernias. I am begging you. Help me save Night.” He pleaded with him.
The deer sneered. “Why? Why should I? Wasn’t it you that killed him in the first place, oh great overlord.” He said in a snide and sarcastic tone, which made Archibald flinch.
“Yes.. Yes it was.. But, yet.. Not the same me.” He said, slowly, timidly. “I.. It was.. The old me, I guess. I. I died..” He mumbled.
“Yes, I know, get to the point!” Snapped Xernias, and Archibald gave a startled whimper, but he did his best to get on with it.
“I am reborn.. And I am not the same. The family that you’re attacking, they found me. Took care of me. They could have just as easily just.. Y’know. Killed me again. Be done with it. But they didn’t. So, so it means that no one has to die!” He pleaded his case.
Xernias looked at Archibald, then he laughed. Loudly. “You think just because you are reborn that I will listen to you, whelp?” He asked, and the flinch that Archibald gave told that it had been the hope.
“No. I will not yield to you, not anymore. The cycle must not be broken. The duties I was assigned to do must be done. There can be no exceptions. None.” The life Deer told Archibald. “Not even to you. You foresaw that yourself.” He said as he looked down at Archibald.
The little Alpaca was growing desperate. “But.. But why not? I want to fix this. This is my fault. I don’t want him to die.. Not like this.” He said in a pleading tone.
The deer considered Archibald long and hard. His eyes burrowing into Archie’s own.
“Why do you really want to save the boy’s life?” He finally asked after a long silence.
The silence stretched more as Archibald considered his words.
“Because.. Its my fault. Or my former self’s fault. I.. I mean, he.. He did bad things. I learned the things that was said about me, and us. Legendaries I mean. On how the past me wanted all of this attention, all of the worship. On how he treated others. Like they were.. Playthings.” He said as he paused again. “I got to live and learn with them. Humans I mean. Be around them. Grow up around them.. I.. I mean.. They helped me. Saved me. When I never did anything good in my past life. I didn’t deserve the kindness they gave me. The chance of feeling like I belonged.. They all could have hated me. Well, one or two might still hate me when they learn the truth. But that’s okay. I deserve it. After all I did.” Archibald said, and he looked down, looking ashamed, and fearful.
There was another long stretch of silence. And in that silence, the storm clouds that Dave had summoned finally released their payload that had been formed with them, and they started to pour down the rain. It came so sudden and so swiftly, that it would leave many confused on how it had gotten there.
The silence was filled with nothing more then two old entities staring each other down, and one Alpaca staring at the ground, having made his case as best he could, and now awaiting judgement.
“It is not in our family to hold grudges against past lives.” Dave finally said. “What’s done is done. The past is the past, and those dead and buried can’t live to repeat it. But those of us alive, can only learn to not repeat the same mistakes.” He said as he looked down at the Arceus.
Archibald looked shocked at his words, but dipped his head down in appreciation.
The life deer continued to watch them, his eyes never leaving Dave, nor his horn. Waiting for it to glow again.
“And if I were to spare the boy. Then what?” Asked Xerneas as he considered Archibald. The young Alpaca looked at first hopeful, but then his head drooped, not wanting to get his hopes up. “I.. I don’t know. Maybe leave? I don’t think.. I don’t think after this, I could stay.” He admitted in earnest.
Xernileas knew himself, that the young Arceus spoke the truth. That if he did spare Night, then it was a price that Archibald would need to pay. For nothing came for free, and it was a sacrifice he would need to make.
“Where would you go then?” He asked as he looked down at him. Archibald gave a shrug. “I don’t know. Haven’t learned yet on my abilities.” He admitted. “Well.. Very little.” He admitted further, sheepish. He had managed to stop them, even if briefly.
Xerneas gave a grunt at that. “You never..? Oh blessed hells below.” He cursed. He would need to make a decision on that. He would need to stay somewhere after all.
“Fine. Fine. I’ll spare the little fly.” He said finally. “But on the condition, that you truly learn this time. And you do better.” He said as he stared down at Archibald.
The Alpaca could only nod. “O-Okay. I will, thank you!” He thanked the deer, but he scoffed.
“Do not thank me yet, youngling. You will need to help be heal the body and fuse the soul back into the humans body. Or else, he will die. Permanently.” He growled, and Archibald gulped. “Okay.” He said and then he looked to Dave.
“Grandpa Dave... Do you.. Do you want to come with us?” He asked him.
The Alicorn looked at Archibald, then at Xerneas. “Yes.” He said slowly. “Yes, I think I will.” He said, his voice tinged with distrust, and suspicion. Which made the life deer, grunt in derision.
“Oh. Please.” He said and they began to trot away. Away from the devastation, and the rain.

Ragnarök: Asgard’s Twilight
Chapter 7: Vanaheim
N/: I had to literally search up shit like Astronomy, Astrophysics, Cosmology, Physics, and bunch of theories just to make this make sense and not look like I was pulling it out my ass.
What is she doing here?
Our rangers scouted her out within the forest.
She should be in Midgard, not Vanaheim!
Take her to the healers. A fall like that could’ve severely damaged her.
Foster...
Jane’s eyes shot open, her body aching. She was covered in blankets and lying in a bed. Getting up, Jane adjusted to her surroundings. The ceiling was covered in trunks of wood and leaves. Golden dust fell from the trees, falling onto the fabric of the blankets.
Getting up, Jane could see a dress piled upon a chair next to the bed. It was a gorgeous shade of blue with purple lining and an armored corset.
Looking around, Jane tried making sense of where she was. Her head was still aching, and she noticed that her arms had bruises of yellow and purple, possibly from the fall.
The fall...That’s right. Hela had pushed her out of the Bifrost, separating her from Thor and Loki. Once her body was out of the bridge, Jane felt her breathing full on stop. The feeling of her heartbeat pausing and her body freezing was horrible.
She then felt her heart drop as she moved around the bed feeling for her diary. Jane then sighed as she found it on a small table, seemingly untouched. Jane couldn’t handle having her research being taken for her yet again. Only if it was lost, she was sure she couldn’t sue some thousand year old aliens.
A knock was then heard from the door, causing Jane to jump slightly. She took a deep breath and straightened herself “Come in” she said
The door opened, and a familiar dark beauty poked out. Lady Sif greeted Jane with a warm smile, her deep eyes piercing, yet inviting. She was clad in silver armor and red cloth, and her hair as black as night was tied back to frame her face.
“You took quite a fall there, Ms. Foster” Sif said, standing at the doorway “Had you not been found in the forests, the void of space surely would have killed you”
Jane got up from the bed “Where am I?”
“Vanaheim” Sif answered “My home. Still not sure how you were able to be here in the first place, but know that you are welcome here. The Vanir are not as...skeptic as the Aesir”
“Thor” Jane said abruptly “Have you seen him? A-And Loki? Is there anything on them?”
Sif’s brows furrowed “Loki? Loki is dead. What are you talking about? Jane, what happened with Thor?“
”Th-There was this woman. And she pushed me out the Bifrost. I-I don’t know what happened. I-“
Sif shushed her quietly, seeing the distress in Jane’s eyes “Calm now, Foster. I need you to remain calm. What was it that happened”
Jane stopped for a moment, and looked directly at Sif “I need to see Heimdall”
———————————————————————————————————–
The two ladies walked across the halls of the building, Jane now wearing the dress left for her. Sif took her outside, where bond fires and large tents were put up. Some of the people looked at Jane with curious eyes, which she replied with a bewildered gaze of her own. There were rock trolls and ogres within the camp, working at their weapons or conversing with some of the Vanir.
They then stopped at a tent with bodyguards, Sif stepping out of the way for Jane to go in first. She could see a man talking with some soldiers, and Jane could recognize the familiar voice.
“Excuse me-“ Jane then froze as the man turned to look at her. Heimdall no longer wore a large helmet and golden armor. He donned a dark poncho with leather, and his hair was much longer. No longer did he look like an imposing figure, but someone who appeared somber, yet inviting.
Jane turned her head “Oh wow...” she muttered under her breath before clearing her throat “Heimdall, something’s happened. Thor-“
“No need to inform me, Jane Foster” Heimdall interrupted “I know what was happened with Thor and Loki”
Sif was heard gasping lightly as she moved in front of Jane “You mean...it’s true? Loki is alive?”
“Yes” Heimdall answered. He turned back to the group, resting his hands on the table “It seems the God of Mischief survived his wounds in Svartalheim”
“So he paraded as Odin this whole time?” Sif asked
“Seems so. My eyes have seen what has happened to Thor. I never thought I’d see this in my lifetime. Never could have imagined the day would come”
“Brother” Sif said “What is it?”
Jane’s brows furrowed. Brother? That was new. Mirroring Sif’s actions, Jane moved to the side of the table, looking to Heimdall.
His golden eyes were fixed on both of them “It is Ragnarök. The twilight of the gods has begun. Hela of Niffleheim has escaped her prison, and she is on her way to Asgard as we speak”
Murmurs could be heard from the other men, murmurs of fear and shock “What about Thor and Loki?”
“I cannot see them anymore. Hela has pushed them far beyond my reach”
Sif exasperated “Well then how in Bor’s name are we supposed to find them?!”
Heimdall put his hands up “Calm now, sister. We will find them. All we need is a correct course of action. Hela is far more powerful than any of us realize”
The tent fell silent at Heimdall’s words “We must be cautious”
Jane was about to speak but then, a familiar noise came from outside. Almost like...Bifrost? Everyone immediately ran out the tent to see what it was. Volstagg and Fandral were moving through the crowd, pushing past the people and telling them that it was urgent.
“Heimdall!” Fandral exclaimed “Lady Sif! Most terrible news!”
Volstagg pushed in front of him “Tis Hela! She has taken the throne of Asgard and proclaimed the All-Father dead!
Everyone gasped in shock, with Heimdall’s golden eyes widening as he turned to Jane “Is this true?”
Jane nodded “Yes. Hela put a sword through his chest and took the Odin force”
“The Odin force?!” Sif said in shock “With that sort of power she would be impenetrable. Not even a thousand men could stop her!”
“What must we do?” Fandral asked “With Odin gone and Thor absent, Asgard is at Hela’s mercy. Ragnarök will come and we’ll have no way to stop it! All of the Aesir will die. Men, women, children!”
Volstagg grumbled “Absolutely not! We mustn’t let all those innocent lives fall by the hands of that murderous she-devil! Whatever actions need taken, we need to proceed now!”
“What will we do with the men we have?” Hogun said, stepping forward “Even if we manage to acquire a weapon more powerful than her, it will not stop the inevitable destruction that will befall Asgard”
Fandral agree with Volstagg “Which is why we must retaliate this very moment!”
“No!” Jane exclaimed. Everyone turned to look, causing her to feel rather awkward. But Jane stood her ground nonetheless “You don’t know what Hela is capable of! Most of you have only heard of her from stories told by your parents or your nannies. We can’t just use brute strength and luck”
“Then what do we need?” Sif asked
Jane stopped for a moment, trying to think. Her technology would be really handy right now, if weren’t for the fact that were currently on Earth. And she doubts it would stop the Goddess of Death.
But then, something clicked in her brain. She couldn’t guarantee this would work, but it was well worth a try.
Jane grabbed Heimdall by his arm to get his attention further
“Do you guys have a library I could use?”
———————————————————————————————————–
Everyone around her looked at Jane like she was crazy. Most of them were seasoned warriors who, although highly skilled and intelligent, seemed to take less interest in books and more in weaponry. But Heimdall was almost hopeful, letting Jane take the reins from there.
When rummaging through the shelfs, she eventually made it to one book that had the rune of Asgard on the cover, alongside the runes of the other eight realms circling it. Jane carefully went down the ladder and placed the book atop a table.
“On Earth, we’re told that Ragnarök is basically the end of the world” Jane explained, flipping the pages of the book before stopping at one with Yggdrasil. Before she proceeds, she turns to Heimdall “What do your people know of Ragnarök?”
Heimdall raised an eyebrow “It’s as you said: it is the end of all things and of Asgard”
Jane put her finger up “Except that’s not all. On Earth, we’re taught that Ragnarök begins with a Great Winter that’ll cover the world in snow. Food becomes scarce and people will slaughter each other for survival. The stars will fade, the World Tree will tremble, and the monstrous wolf Fenris will break free of his chains to swallow the Sun whole. His brother Jormungand shall rise from Midgard’s ocean and spit his venom into the world, poisoning the land and the water”
She continued “Surtur will march on Bifrost with his army, all the while Heimdall blows the Gjallarhorn to announce the coming of Ragnarök. Odin is killed by Fenris, Heimdall and Loki slaughter each other, and Thor dies by Jormungand’s poison. The rest of the world falls into the sea, leaving nothing but an endless void”
The Warriors Three, Sif, and Heimdall had looks on their faces that could only be described as true horror.
“All my years of long life “Heimdall rasped “I had only been told that Ragnarök was impossible. A story meant to show that all beginnings have an end. But this-“
“It’s death” Fandral interrupted, his face pale “That’s all it is; nothing but endless death to our world. To our people. To ourselves”
Volstagg growled angrily “This cannot be! Ragnarök was not supposed to come within our lifetime! Now, we have no choice but to prepare ourselves!”
“We could not have known!” Hogun stepped in “The end of our world is unbeknownst to all but the Norns who oversee the roots of Yggdrasil”
“But the signs!” Volstagg exclaimed “If Ragnarök was something that needed warning, then there must’ve been an eternal winter!”
“Which is exactly my point!” Jane finally spoke above the Warriors Three, their attention focusing on her again. She sighed before speaking, trying not to sound stressed or worried “I’m what humans call an Astrophysicist; I merge chemistry and physics together to learn about different celestial bodies. But to be in this profession, I had to also study Astronomy and Cosmology”
“Yes, we know about Midgard and your science” Sif commented. The words may have come out condescending, but her tone begged to differ
Jane flashed an awkward smile at the beautiful warrior goddess “We essentially have theories where we try to explain how the universe was created. There’s the most famous one, the Big Bang Theory, which says the our universe began with a cosmic explosion that created everything”
“Preposterous” Volstagg muttered “Everyone knows that it was Odin and his brothers, who slew the Frost Giant Ymir, that created the cosmos”
Heimdall shushed him immediately, allowing Jane to proceed. Jane sighed “Anyways...we also have theories talking about the end of the universe, like the Big Rip theory and the Big Crunch theory. Then there’s theories saying the universe will only expand further until it’s too cold to sustain any life, like Big Chill”
“So?” Fandral asked “What’s your point?”
“My point,” Jane retorted “Is that like you, humans have spoken about the end of all things too. But, as I explained, I am a Astrophysicist. Most of the theories I’ve stated have yet to come to fruition or proven to be true. Just like I know Astronomy and Cosmology, I also know Physics. And one of the most famous laws, primarily Newton’s laws, explains that an object will remain at rest until a external force acts upon it”
Sif’s eyes lit up, almost as if she beginning to understand “It’s almost like battle” She said “One person may have a plan to stop armed forces, but it can only be successful if the ones behind it act on that strategy”
Jane smiled “Yes!” She exclaimed happily “Yes, exactly! We have another law that says that for everything action, there is an equal and opposite reaction” Jane returned to the book and pointed at the World Tree “That could be what’s happening with Ragnarök. There must’ve been some sort of act that caused the event to change. Even though Ragnarök has begun, it’s already far more different than in the story!”
The Warriors and Heimdall looked at each other “You’re right...” Heimdall agreed “If your Midgardian myths are to be believed, then Hela had no part to play in Ragnarök. And Odin was supposed to be slain by Fenris, yet here he is, skewed by Hela’s hand”
“And also” Jane added “In Norse myth, Hela is supposed to be Loki’s daughter. But as far as we know, he hasn’t shown interest in anyone romantically”
“What?” Sif said, her brow furrowing
Jane pursed her lips “Odin said that Hela is actually his daughter from Jord, who’s basically the Nordic Mother Nature. Hela also gave birth to Loki, making her his mother and Thor's sister. Since she’s older than Thor, she was able to get the Odin force despite Odin naming Thor the new All-Father”
Everyone looked at each other in shock. So many words in so little time, they thought
Hogun looked to Jane “With all this information, it must mean that perhaps there might be a way to slow Ragnarök before it ends Asgard. Although Hela rules Niffleheim, she cannot raise souls from the dead, merely tend to them or control them”
“And she must have some sort of weakness” Fandral added “Even someone as powerful as Odin managed to have shortcomings”
“So what can we do?” Sif asked Jane. They all looked to the mortal girl, who tried to avert eye contact. Jane had never been given this much leadership freedom before. She felt she was useless on Asgard. She couldn’t fight or wield a sword like Lady Sif, and yet, here she was, looking to a mere mortal for guidance.
Jane felt an almost adrenaline rushing through her “We need to conduct a plan to take the Aesir out of Asgard and stop Hela. You think you guys can handle that?”
The Warriors Three nodded “We are at your most humble service, Lady Jane!” Volstagg proclaimed
”Good” Jane said before looking to Heimdall “While the Warriors do that, we need to build Gjallarhorn for you to sound. I know you have your all seeing magic, but we need to warn everyone, not just Asgard”
Heimdall nodded “I will have the craftsmen mine the strongest metals to construct it. With my eyes and my horn, I shall be able to send out the warning of the inevitable twilight”
Jane clasped her hands together and smiled “Alright then, let’s get started”
The Warriors Three left the library, Heimdall staying to stare at Jane with a smile “You burn brighter than any star I’ve ever seen, Jane Foster” Heimdall said proudly “It is no wonder the Valkyrie have called to you in slumber.
Jane’s mouth was agape “You...You know about that?”
”I hear their voices from the halls of Valhalla” Heimdall commented “Although their physical bodies have been lost, their spirits live on and protect the fallen in battle” He put a hand on Jane’s shoulder “Due to our circumstances, I am unable to fully help you. But perhaps my sister might be of service”
They both looked at Sif who was rummaging through the pages of the book “Great” Jane’s voice broke the pregnant silence, and she waved at Sif “Hey, are your coming?”
Sif only nodded halfheartedly “Yes, I’ll be with you in just a moment. You go ahead, I’ll meet with you shortly”
With that, Heimdall and Jane left the library, with only Sif in the room. She kept looking through the pages, until she stopped at one. Atop the paragraph, it read her name in runic text. Sif trapped the paper with the pads of her fingers, stopping at the first few sentences:
Lady Sif, the Dark-Haired Daughter of Asgard, Fairest of The Fair, Gentlest of The Gentle. The Unstoppable, The Stunning, the shield maiden of Asgard. Sister of The Good Heimdall, Daughter of the Vanir, Goddess of War, of The Hunt-
The last sentence was off.
Sif could see that the page had been tampered with, as the words ‘Goddess of War, of The Hunt” were clearly added in. She tried to see what text was underneath, but her efforts had failed. Sif could only sigh and close the book, walking out the library to return to Jane’s company.

Sandcastles | Part IV.
A/N: I want to start by apologizing for taking so long to create Part 4 to Sandcastles. I had writer’s block for a while and then life got in the way. I hope you all enjoy this. I will be continuing this series. No real music inspo for this part. The picture above is just adorable but not a depiction of Y/N and Iman. Please excuse any spelling and/or grammatical errors. It might be a bit rough. I was just trying to get this out.
Word Count: 3,112
Warnings: Slight Angst (?), Mentions Violence, Hints of emotional abuse, Mentions Miscarriage, Hints at abortion, possible triggers
Summary: Y’all not getting one this time.
Erik x Black Reader (will always be a Black reader. Sorry not Sorry).
——————————————————————————–
Erik remained seated on the leather couch of his living room holding his phone to his ear yet still silent. His mouth opened but he soon shut it, as he was unable to form words. The sensation of his chest tightening followed by the familiar lump in his throat nagged at him. Erik leaned forward his elbows planted on top of his knees. His shoulders tensed. The feeling of regret washed over him for the umpteenth time. He had felt this too many times for his liking. The one person who for years brought him peace was bringing the storm. If he had to choose he’d say it was a hurricane followed by tsunami. The type of damage that it could cause would have anyone questioning if God was mad at the world. But Erik was the source, and he was internalizing just how much pain he was still causing you.
The tone of your voice was enough to make him feel like scum. This was the second time that afternoon you had called him in a panic. The first was after his text threatening to kill the movers. Of course he listened to you and didn’t kill them… but he was already seeing red. It was too late for him to not do anything, at all. In Erik’s mind, at very least they deserved their ass beat for banging on the door like the police after he told them to get off of his property. Erik did just that. He beat their ass. The movers definitely needed to be in someone’s emergency room getting checked out for cracked ribs, a broken nose, maybe even a broken jaw. In Eric’s mind, this was light damage in comparison to what he wanted to do. They put themselves in the way of being the target of his frustration. Nonetheless, his logic could do no justice nor could it sooth your worries.
You continued to yell at him through sobs, full blown hiccupping sobs. Erik hated the fact that for the countless time in less than two weeks, he was the reason you were crying. Some things you said he could barely understand due to your crying, but he sat there taking it all in, staring at his bruising knuckles as he assessed the damage made. What he could make out was that you were sick of his shit.
“Y/N, come on. I’m sorry alright? I know I fucked up…again, but please try to calm down princess. It’s too much stress on the baby.” Erik finally took a jab at some type of reasoning with you.
He knew the potential consequences of high stress during pregnancy. In fact, you and Erik were not strangers to the disappointment and heartache that miscarriage could bring. You two had suffered a miscarriage before conceiving Iman. Although, neither of you knew that you were pregnant until Erik rushed you to the hospital for what he thought was a possible rupture appendix, only to receive the heartbreaking news that you lost your first child.
The first pregnancy was not exactly planned. Erik had been teasing you since you guys’ third date that he was going to get you pregnant one day. At that point you hadn’t even been intimate with him yet. He was nowhere near being ready to be a parent at that time. Erik was genuinely amused at how you would roll your eyes and scoff every time he mentioned it. It was just something he teased about more than anything. He loved to get a reaction out you. Nonetheless when he did imagine himself having children, he knew you were the only woman he’d envisioned. So when the time actually came and you miscarried, it triggered his fear of loss. Erik in term became even more overprotective of you, if that was even possible.
“STRESS?! STRESS ON THE BABY?! NIGGA YOU ARE THE STRESS ON THE BABY!” You cried out. Erik pinched the bridge of his nose taking a deep breath. He could hear Iman crying in the background.
“Just…come home love. Let me take care of you and Iman. Let me try to fix us for real. All this yelling and shit probably has Iman scared.”
“EXACTLY ERIK! She is! This is just too much for me. ” Y/N sniffled. “Why would I ever come back? You make me physically sick to my stomach. You can’t even control yourself. What if they press charges? What if they sue me for putting them in that situation?”
It was the truth. You were always right. He sighed in defeat. He knew he blew it once again.
“They not fuckin stupid. Them niggas was trynna take my family from me.” Erik mumbled. “I can have T’ch-“
“Don’t you dare” You cut him off. “T’challa? Really Erik?! T’Challa can’t solve your problems or be your voice of reason for you… and YOU lost your family on your own. Nobody took us from you but you.” Y/n ended the call immediately after, overwhelmed with the entire situation.
Erik was left with is thoughts and your last statement replaying in his mind like a broken record. He was the cause of this entire situation and that was a tough pill to swallow. He was still at square one without the slightest clue on how to fix you all’s relationship. Maybe he did need to get himself together before he tried to pursue the mending of his family?
Erik smacked his lips before picking up his phone once more. He scrolled through his contacts begrudgingly tapped a name he hadn’t dialed in almost a year. It was time he visited his therapist. He listened to the ringing before a chipper voice answered. It was his therapist’s secretary that annoyed him with her overly cheerful persona.
“Dr. Lang’s office, Amber speaking. How may I help you?”
“It’s Erik Stevens. Can you get Dr. Lang on the phone…immediately.”
“Sorry Mr. Stevens, but Dr. La—“ Amber hesitated.
“I’m not gone ask again.” Erik barked.
Amber tried to cover gasp of astonishment with clearing her throat and politely telling Erik to hold. Amber knew exactly who Erik was, and against her better judgment she’d eavesdropped on his past sessions. It took less than 3 minutes for Dr. Lang to pick up the line.
“Mr. Udaku-Stevens, it’s been a while. How are you?”
“My wife left me.” It pained Erik to utter those words aloud.
“Ah! Well, how about you come in tomorrow 9 AM? If your schedule permits…”
“I’ll be there.” Erik kept it short hanging up the phone.
------------------
You threw your phone down on the bed staring blankly into space. The sensation of saliva thickening in your mouth brought your attention to the nausea you had been trying to ignore. You used your sleeve to hastily wipe away the tears left on your face. You didn’t owe him a goodbye. You could barely comprehend why you were talking to him in the first place. Why do you always feel the obligation to reason with Erik? And to an extent, why did you still bare the burden of trying to protect him from himself? Erik could be his own worst enemy with his self-sabotaging fits of rage.
Your thoughts were interrupted by a shriek that came from Iman as her cries intensified. Iman was having a full on fit. Her round golden face was now tinted in a red hue, hot tears spewed down her face, and her dimples piercing her cheeks as she flailed her chubby fist. Iman was teething and it was giving her the blues. You picked her up cuddling her close to your chest, rubbing small circles in her back, attempting to sooth her. A teething baby was a force to be reckoned with. You’d given her some medication in hopes of breaking her fever but just by touch you could tell that it had barely worked. Iman pushed at your chest and if you could guess you would only assume she didn’t want you to hold her.
A light knock came to the bedroom door, before it cracked open far enough for your twin brother, JR, to peak in. With an exhausted yet concerned look on his face, he scratched his full beard looking at you and Iman. He had returned from football practice less than an hour ago and his usual routine would have been to take a shower then nap. It was apparent that that was interrupted. His expression softened as you made eye contact.
“What you in here doin’ to my niece?” he joked trying to lighten the mood. JR staggered further into the room. “What’s wrong wit my lil baybeh?” He cooed as he took Iman from your arms.
“She’s teething and sleepy so she’s fussy.” Y/N mumbled letting out a heavy sigh.
JR cradled her in his muscular arms as Iman clung to him beginning to calm down. He was practically the same build as Erik. The idea of her possibly missing her father crossed your mind, and by no means were you intending to keep her from Erik, but taking her back to him was out of the question. You weren’t sure if he was in the right mental space and seeing his face only made you angry.
You stood up from the bed briskly walked over to the adjoining bathroom shutting the door. You couldn’t resist the urge to vomit any longer. It was starting to make you feel physically weak. What more could you possibly throw up when you haven’t even brought yourself to so much even eat a grape in six hours? Your body was giving up all it had to give, and at this point it was only bile. You clung to the porcelain toilet wondering if this was all a test of faith. Why was everything falling apart? Why was this pregnancy so hard? Better yet, why was life so hard right now? How come you couldn’t be home with a supportive and faithful husband like believed he was at some point?
“She ain’t the only fussy one wit all that yelling you was doing at her Daddy.” JR mumbled as you walked back into the room collapsing on the bed.
“You heard all that? Sorry.” You knew you probably didn’t even need to apologize, but who really wants to come home to a bunch of drama that has nothing to do with them. JR waved you off with a nonchalant look.
“Don’t worry about. Take it easy though. You look…dehydrated.”
“Are you calling me thirsty?” You retorted with cut eyes.
“No nigga! You literally look dehydrated like you need Gatorade or coconut water. It’s some in the fridge.” JR shook his head as he readjusted Iman in his arms laying her head on his shoulder. Iman’s wails had settled to a soft whine by now.
“Thanks but I doubt that I could stomach either of those.”
“Is that normal? Being pregnant and all? That shit seem like a bad hangover and virus combined.”
“I don’t really know. I didn’t go through this with Iman. I had some cramping and nausea but this is just…ugh... Wassup? You getting ready to have a baby I don’t know about?”
“Hell nah. My niece and future nephews are enough. I got a good five to ten years before I let somebody trap me.” He shrugs.
“Excuse me? You don’t know if I’m having a boy or not. And you said nephews with an S. You trynna make me sicker something?”
“I’m just concerned with your health. It got my twin senses doing weird shit. Maybe you should try to see your doctor before your appointment? I’m trynna tell you, you’re super sick cuz you having triplets. What you gone do with four kids under 2?” JR commented earning an eye roll. Here he goes with the twin sense stuff. Sure it’s a real thing but JR could be a bit dramatic.
“I’m NOT having triplets. Are you crazy?” JR smacks his teeth.
“I’m not crazy but me and niecey gone take a nap on the couch. If you still lookin’ like you getting ya ass whooped from the inside out in a hour, then I’m taking you to the hospital.”
4 hours later
After enduring an hour wait in the emergency room waiting room, you had been pricked and probed too much for your liking. The past few hours consisted of countless tests and tubes of blood being drawn. You were already reluctant about going to the hospital in the first place. You would have rather gone to your regular OBGYN, but your brother insisted on taking you to the ER tonight. There was no doubting that you needed to see a doctor. How you were feeling was not the least bit normal and it was only getting worse.
It seemed like the nurses were more interested in your brother than what you were going through. Being that he is in the NFL, the attention was something he’d grown accustomed to. You on the other hand didn’t care. You almost snapped on one nurse who was so insistent on smiling in JR’s face, that she incorrectly inserted the IV in your arm four times. If you weren’t toting a sleeping Iman in your other arm, you probably would’ve caused a scene. At that point, JR excused himself from the room taking Iman with him. He stated that he wanted to give you privacy and limit the distractions.
Hyperemesis Gravidarum was what the on duty physician diagnosed you with. Hyperemesis Gravidarum is a rare condition that causes sever uncontrollable nausea, vomiting, and dehydration. You stared down at your slightly protruding belly as the doctor continued to explain what the condition was. Your vision blurred as your eyes burned and your ears began to feel hot. You tried to process what the doctor was telling you but the sound of your heartbeat and breathing seemed to be battling over his voice. From what you could gather is that he was deeply concerned that you developed the condition with this pregnancy especially since it wasn’t your first. If it concerned him, it surely scared the hell out of you.
“I’d like to do an ultrasound now to make sure everything it alright with the baby. We gotta take care of mommy and baby.” He said while holding out a Kleenex box and using his free hand to pat your knee. He called over a technician who wheeled over the ultrasound machine.
“What if it’s not?” Your voice became small, almost child like. Fear was starting to get the best of you. You went through a miscarriage before and didn’t want to face another one.
“We’re going to stay hopeful, Y/N. Something tells me I know a possible answer for this condition. The circumstances can vary…” He said as he turned on the ultrasound machine before pouring the cool gel on your lower abdomen. The doctor placed the device against your abdomen causing you to slightly jump due to its warm surface catching you off guard.
The crackling of static when the device touched your stomach was followed by the blaring rapid heartbeats offsetting each other. The doctor turned the monitor to give you a better view of the screen. Moving the device around, the doctor zoomed into a particular area. He studied the monitor and his once stoic facial expression cracked with a glint of satisfaction. Your line of sight moved from the provider’s face to the monitor before the two of you. You froze, blinking a few times to be sure you were seeing correctly. Your breathing became shallow as you opened your mouth to speak then immediately closing it. Is this really happening? You sat there wide-eyed trying to take in this moment.
“Is that—are those—“ You attempted to ask before the doctor cut you off nodding.
“Congratulations Mommy! Looks like you’re having twins with very strong heartbeats might I add.” He announced with a smile. “Which is what I thought was triggering your condition. Would you like us to bring in the proud papa and big sister from the waiting room?”
You lowered your head shaking it as uncontrollable tears began to pour down your face. You couldn’t quite understand your own emotions. Are you happy? Are you upset? You should be happy… right?
“H-He’s not the dad. He’s my twin brother.” You stuttered.
“How exciting! A twin having twins!” A young nurse perked up with a smile in attempts to lighten the mood. You offered her a soft smile as you wiped your eyes. There was still an obvious presence of your lack of enthusiasm.
“Are you okay Y/N?” The doctor inquired with a concerned expression, for which you simply nodded. “There are options you can discuss with your assigned OBGYN. You’re still in your first trimester, which is a trying time for a multiples pregnancy. We have a few pamphlets here that might help, but don’t hesitate to inquire about any of your concerns.”
“I understand. I’ll discuss it with her.” You said just above a whisper.
“Great, now let’s get these fluids hooked back up to your IV. I’m writing you a prescription to hopefully help with the nausea and excessive vomiting. I think you should stay overnight for observation. We really need to get a handle on your dehydration.” He stated while typing into the computer.
Great, now you had to stay in the hospital. Who could watch Iman until your discharged? It was pretty late in the evening and JR is having an early start the next day. Your mom wasn’t exactly your greatest support system. Your grandma adored Iman but you know that Iman can be a bit of a busy body for her. You could call Nakia but there was a chance that T’Challa would tell Erik you were in the hospital. That was the last thing you wanted. They were still the best candidates. You could hardly find a baby sitter for one child, what were you going to do with three? How were you going to handle being single mother with three kids? Life comes at you fast.
You closed your eyes for a moment laying your head back against the observation bed. You were starting to feel nauseous again. You opened them looking at the empty chair next to where the doctor placed pictures from the ultrasound with markings for baby a, and baby b. Underneath the ultrasound were the pamphlets for the options he hinted at earlier. Your hands began to sweat as you reached for them. You stared blankly at the one on top.
“It’s my body right…”

Get to know My OC-Suzie Q
Get to know my character
Doing this for My OC Suzanna, of The Walking Dead.
01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded? I picked Suzanna (spelled with a z because I thought it looked cool) because I liked that Negan would call her Suzie Q.
02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness? Sex lbr,Sue isn’t above being seduced,or doing the seducing either. But only around Merle,Negan or The Governor, who can easily get her to do what they want and they know this.
03. Something they like about themselves? Her Strength and resilience.
04. What are their favorite traits about their lover? (one psychological and one physical) I’ll start with her first boyfriend Merle Dixon, who she had been with since before the turn.
Mentally: Would have to be Merle’s humor (crude or not),how he flirts (with her anyway),his cockiness,How protective he is and how unpredictable.
Physically: I mean Merle may not be everyone’s cup of tea (or bottle of whisky) but with those baby blue eyes, that mischievous grin, those arms and that swagger,he sure is Sue’s. Oh did I forget to mention she has an older man kink? ;)
Next would be Suzanna’s other lover, who she met in Woodbury,of course I mean Philip Blake aka The Governor.
Mentally: Suzanna was attracted to his intelligence, his quiet confidence, leadership qualities and that mysterious aura he seemed to have around him.
Physically: That smile, those eyes, his body isn’t half bad either, but it’s his charm and darkness that really attracts her.
Now onto her current lover Negan, leader of The Saviors. How she met him is a tad more complicated...
Mentally: Suzie loves his confidence, humor, and leadership skills,as well as his growth as a person. To her Negan is almost like Merle and Philip rolled into one.
Physically: I mean Negan is hot, anyone can see that! Especially when he first showed up,those Daddy good looks coupled with that swagger and dangerous smirk. Yeah Suzie definitely fell for him, even when she tried not too.
05. Are they sexually confident or more of the shy type? Definitely Confident. Though she didn’t have much experience until she met Merle.
06. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying? lol it’s the zombie apocalypse, what hobbies? Sue’s men are pretty open to whatever she likes, especially Negan since she met him after the turn where pretty much anything goes.
07. Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)? No though she tends to steal some of Negan’s phrases like ‘Easy Peasy’
08. What is, perhaps, their biggest flaw? Are they aware of this or oblivious to it? Um the fact that she has no self control lol maybe because of the fact that she grew up in a religious household. Her weakness for the bad boys,or worse.
09. Do they have a favorite season? What about a favorite holiday? NOT Summer or Winter since they’ve almost died during both. Maybe Autumn or Spring. Holiday, what’s that? They don’t even know what YEAR it is now let alone day.
10. Is your character more feminine or masculine? A mixture of both.
11. What is something that would make your character fly into a rage? Well her bloodlust kinda kicked in after being with Negan, besides that probably being pushed by one of Negan’s Wives and having her loyalty questioned.
12. Is there some particular talent, skill, or attribute that they simply could not give up? Her Survival instincts & fighting skills, give those up and she might as well be Walker food.
13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Blanket stealer? One that always rolls onto the floor? Pushes their lover onto the floor? Sleep talker or walker? She’s a light sleeper anymore and has a hard time sleeping on her own.
14. Do they live alone or with family? How do they feel about their family/roommates? Suzie was adopted by Hershal as a young Teen, after the zombie apocalypse happened she got separated from her family and traveled with The Dixon’s where they found a camp, she got separated after reuniting with her family, where she met Michonne, they traveled together until Woodbury where she found Merle again. After that whole thing with The Governor and Rick’s group,Sue went into hiding, until she found out she was pregnant and went to find Rick,Daryl and the rest. They traveled together and finally settled in Alexandria, until The Saviors came and after much bloodshed and fighting,Sue joined them, becoming Negan’s wife.
15. Is there a certain person in this world that they cannot stand? The very mention of this person’s name makes them tremble with anger or fear. Not really, though her and Philip did not end on good terms and she really cannot stand Simon.
16. Is your character the athletic type or more of a couch potato? What are some sports/games that they like? lol Definitely more of The Athletic type now. She was super girly when Merle first met her.
17. Does your character have dreams of getting married and/or having children? Technically she is married to Negan and she has two children.
18. What kind of home would they want to live in? Where would they place this abode? She really doesn’t care as long as her family is with her.
19. Would your character be the kind to get into fights? (physical or verbal) Would they be a good fighter or cave in rather easily? She tended to avoid them as a Teen, letting her BFF take the lead, but now yeah she can be pretty hot headed and the only time she caves in is when it’s one of her men.
20. Does your character like animals? What are some of their favorite animals? Would they want pets? What about mythological creatures? Dogs all the way.
21. What is one of your character’s biggest fears? How would they react when dealing with this fear? Losing her children, like she lost her family and Merle.
22. What kind of tattoos, piercings, birthmarks, freckles, and other such unique physical features do they have? Other then her hair changing from Blonde to Brown constantly,no.
23. What is your character like when it comes to school? What subjects are they good/bad at? Do they get in trouble a lot or are well behaved? Sue didn’t really like school but her parents were strict so she had to maintain straight A’s.
24. In their own words, how would your character describe what their lover is like? Personality wise? Since she’s currently with Negan,I’ll just describe him. I’d say to the outside world he’s Smart,A leader,Dangerous, unpredictable, cocky and self assured. To Suzie (and later on when he loses everything) he still is all those things, especially when they first meet, but he’s more open with her, serious and has his morals,he won't hurt or kill children or those that he feels don’t deserve it and he doesn’t rape either,Negan also has deep rooted pain from losing his wife Lucille.
25. Is there something traumatic from your character’s past that greatly affects them even to this day? I would say losing Merle,Her Father and a sister in Beth still effects her a bit, Also almost dying at the hands of her former lover (Who also killed her Father and Merle)
26. What is their lover like sexually? How do they feel about their lover’s quirks, needs, etc? I made A-Z NSFW Headcanons for The Governor and Merle already,I might make one for Negan as well, but their are already really good ones of him out there!
27. If your character was going to get arrested, what would be the most likely reason for it? Well there really isn’t any law anymore but before the turn it would probably be for doing something stupid with Merle like underage drinking.
28. If your character became a celebrity, what would they be famous for? lol idk maybe acting.
29. What is one of the most courageous things your character has ever done for a loved one? Almost sacrificed her life.
30. When it comes to the arts (music, film, theater, etc), what does your character like? Not much in the way of tv now,but before she liked watching Zombie and B Horror movies, also going out to parties, and listening to her sister Beth sing, watching Wrestling with Daryl and his GF,her BFF,Carol Lynn, dressing up to go out with Merle, she still likes Decorating,Negan’s pretty much let her decorate there room however she likes.
31. Would your character be the kind capable of killing? Would they enjoy killing or only use it when necessary or, perhaps, refuse to kill no matter what? Yes she has, mainly Zombies but she has killed people before out of necessity and protection.
32. If your character’s lover offered to take them out on a dream date, what would they want to do? As long as she’s with them she doesn’t really care. Her first date with Merle was at a restaurant/Bar,then they went dancing at a club and then back to his place...With The Governor it was sharing drinks out in the garden, though if he had a choice Philip would have taken her out to a nice restaurant. Suzie didn’t really have a conventional first date with Negan but they have their quiet nights alone, candle lit dinners, kinky sex ;) Negan also spoils her with presents every time they go out.
33. If your character wanted to be alone, where would they go? Her Room...lol seriously though, what alone time? Though sometimes her and the other wives hang out in Eugene’s room, playing video games and drinking if they need an escape.
34. Does your character have favorite foods? (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks, etc) Breakfast Foods mainly.
35. Is your character afraid of death? If they got to choose how to die, how would they want to go? Not much anymore, though she is afraid of leaving her kids behind.
36. Does your character have any medical conditions? Are they serious or minor? Do they affect their day to day life? No
37. What are some of your character’s pet peeves? What are some things that annoy them or disgust them? Being hit on,especially when she’s taken. Her men flirting with someone else.
38. What kind of weather does your character like? Cloudy skies, rainy days, sunshine, etc? As long as it’s not an extreme weather, she really doesn’t care.
39. When people look at your character, is there some assumption they might make about them just by appearance? Is that assumption correct? Well as Negan said when they first met “You are such a badass!” and he’s not wrong. Others may think she’s easily manipulated and maybe she is,at first.
40. Does your OC have any guilty pleasures they enjoy? Hobbies, past times, music, etc that they wouldn’t want known by others? Not really, she did try and hide her kinkier side with The Governor but Negan pretty much has done away with being ashamed of anything and told her they don’t need to hide that in The Sanctuary.
41. Does your character’s family affect your character in any way? They used to.
42. Is there anything in your character’s past that they regret, haunts them, or they wish they could change? Sometimes she regrets meeting The Governor or siding with Negan over Alexandria but Suzie wouldn’t really change it.
43. Does your character have a switch that changes aspects of their personality whether they are around friends, family, etc. Is there someone who gets to see their true self? I think different people see different aspects of her personality and vice versa.
44. Is there a particular event that would emotionally devastate your character? Her Children or Negan dying.
45. Is your character the kind to hide their true emotions or do they wear their heart on their sleeve? A bit of both.
46. What is some random affectionate thing that your character always does to their lover? With Merle,Sue always sat on his lap if he was sitting on a chair or recliner. She does that with Negan too, with The Governor she always kissed his bad eye,if he was having a bad day, just to show him that she still loved him no matter what he looked like..
47. Is your character outgoing? Would they be the leader of the friend group, or the quiet one that gets dragged along? Sue used to be shyer but now she’s definitely more outgoing and a leader.
48. Is there anything in particular that would ignite your character’s jealousy? Or does your character not get envious? Again her men flirting with someone else, especially Merle. Negan favoriting another wife over her.
49. What is something that your character has nightmares about? Are these frequent? Do they heavily affect your character’s mood? She used to have nightmares about finding Merle as a Zombie or of The Governor killing her but they have since dissipated.
50. If your character confessed love to their crush, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc, what would they say? With Merle it was after their first time and Merle said it first,he was super nervous about it and Sue had to reassure him that she loved him too.
With Philip it was to reassure him that she wasn’t going anywhere, after he lost his eye and turned dark.
With Negan it was during a particularly rare moment of confindment after he told her about Lucille,he didn’t say it back until a few months later when he was absolutely sure, and when he knew she wouldn’t leave him.

Let’s make him jealous!
Summary: Eliott went back to Lucille. However Lucas can't forget him. For now he just has to try to get over him, even if the boys want to push them back together. They all come up with an awesome plan ( their words) in order to do so. Well Emma does : making Eliott jealous. How ? By hiting on Lucas obnoxiously. Too much for his taste. And for Eliott's as well. Or : Eliott is sad raccoon pining from afar. Lucas is grumpy, Emma is a snake and the boys are elu stans #1.
Chapter 2
Saying Eliott is looking forward to the end of this week would be a big understatement. He can't stop thinking about Lucas, every waking hour of his day and since he hasn't been able to sleep more than a couple of hours each night lately, let's say he's been thinking way too much about the other boy. Perhaps that's why his friends think he's been more distant the previous days, or the dark circles under his eyes gave his nightime activities away, go figure. He wants so badly to get up from the bench he's sitting on to go talk to Lucas, tell him every thoughts weighing his heart down that it physically hurts. If he's lucky, maybe Lucas will listen.
But he can't, wouldn't even dare coming in close proximity with the boy. Partly because he's ashamed, he knows pertinently he's the only one to blame for this hell of a situation; he cowardly chose to ruin the beginning of a beautiful blossoming relationship to go back to his previous one, easy but loveless. Only for him to realise his mistake a few days later and break up with Lucille. Again. It wasn't his proudest moment. The other reason is that Lucas is never alone . Back in the days too, obviously but now everyone seems to gravitate towards him. When he isn't with the boys, he is always accompanied by a bunch of girls, overly tactile. Every touch leave a bitter taste in Eliott's mouth. Although he can't blame them, Lucas is the sun luring every planets in his orbit. It doesn't mean he has to like it though, quite the contrary in fact.
Those girls are always touching him, his arms, his shoulders, his cheeks, his thighs... Emma touched his thigh! The audacity! The worst thing though, Lucas let her do it, he even seemed to find it completely normal. Eliott didn't appreciate it. Not at all. His hand should have been on Lucas's thigh, his Lucas, his hedgehog.
Stop it Eliott, Lucas isn't your property. He chastises himself.
Although his only desire is to take the place of any of these girls as soon as he sees them swooning over Lucas. Or kill all of them one by one, slowly, to enjoy watching them squirm. Every single girls are hitting on Lucas which pisses Eliott more than he'd like to admit, mostly because Lucas enjoys the attention. He often flirts back, leaving a kiss on their cheek, throwing his arm around their shoulders, sometimes holding their hands... In short, Eliott has to find a way to talk to him before drowning in his jealousy. It's not like he hasn't tried before, he spent all his breaks the past two weeks trying to catch a glimpse of his boy in the hallways so that he could explain his actions. However he never caught sight of him, he knew Lucas has been avoiding him. He had to, it was the only logical explanation because Eliott had explored every dark corners of the school in his desperate quest, even the boiler room. Yet, no traces of Lucas. Until a little over a week ago, when suddenly Lucas was everywhere, always in good company too. Each corner Eliott turned he saw him, a girl hanging off his arm, his bright laugh echoing in the hallways. At least he seemed alright, it was the only thing Eliott cared about at this point. Well, that and maybe getting the girls away from Lucas. He's selfish he knows that.
In the cafeteria at lunch break, he can't help shamelessly devouring him with his eyes. He doesn't even try to hide it anymore, the others might as well think what they want, Eliott couldn't care less. Subtlety isn't his strong point but desperate times call for desperate measures and he is so desperate it's not even funny anymore. He would give anything to hold Lucas tight in his arms at least one last time. So Eliott indulges himself, he stares, stares and stares some more even if from where he is sitting he can only glimpse at his back with a mop of hair on top. What a beautiful back it is though, muscular but slim, topped by even more beautiful hair, the reflecting light casting specks of gold on the brown locks. God the things he would do to be able to touch his hair again, pulling it gently while they kiss, hearing Lucas moan...
His memory decides to betray him then, flashing snippets of the perfect morning they spent together after their first kiss. Coming back to the flat completely soaked, giggling like children, stopping every now and then on the way back to kiss against walls, the both of them not being able to keep their hands off each other, holding each other oh so close while kissing in Lucas's bed, their minds chanting in unison, needing to be closer closer closer, trying to melt together to be forged as a whole again, fusing beautifully never to be apart again, Eliott feeling like he was finally complete, having found the missing piece of his puzzle.
The boy is so lost in his memories it takes him a few minutes to notice someone is all over Lucas again. He should have grown accustomed to the sight by now, only it's not a girl this time but a boy. A boy Eliott vaguely recognises, Valentin something. They are so close together,so comfortable basking in each other presence, so intimate Eliott feels his heart shaterring in his chest. He can almost hear the glass cracking. Valentin has his arm around Lucas's waist, the latter resting his head on his shoulders. The perfect little couple. The couple they would have made, the one they made in a parallel universe. Yes Eliott his bitter, sue him.
“Go talk to him Eliott, instead of moping.” Hugo's voice pulls him back to reality.
He sighs, angling his body towards his friend, not wanting to see more of what was happening in front of his eyes. He's seen enough already. He rubs his eyes tiredly.
“What's the point? It looks like he's moved on. Have you seen all those people chasing after him?”
“Mmmmm, I've noticed your boy was a bit busy lately, yes. I've got eyes you know? Hugo pauses, thoughtful. Eliott can almost see the gears turning in his head. “Let me ask you something Mr.Grumpy. Do you know all those people around him?”
“Most of them yes, he introduced me once when... When everything was good between us.”
He can feel his eyes watering at the thought, the lump in his throat increases. Because he knows he can't move on, call him dramatic all you want but he knows deep down Lucas is his one and only. He'd rather stay single the rest of his life than move on from their not-quite-relationship. He brushes a tear away before it rolls down his cheek. His friends don't seem to notice though, or they just simply ignore it, too used to his emotional outburts by now.
“Don't you find the whole situation weird though? I mean, suddenly all of his friends are flirting with him, all at the same time? Don't get me wrong, your boy is attractive but sounds shady to me.”
Eliott frowns, thoughtful. Hugo's got a point.
“What do you mean?” He tilts his head to the side, inquisitive.
His friend rolls his eyes so hard he's genuinely worried they will stay stuck in his skull. The habit reminds him so much of Lucas his heart clenches a little. Everything reminds him of Lucas these days.
“Eliott I love you man but you're so dense I swear”. He sighs, shaking his head in disbelief. “Lucas hasn't moved on dummy, he's simply trying to make you jealous.”
Eliott scoffs, crossing his arms over his chest. It seems so out of character, even for someone as petty as the boy.
“No way, Lucas would never do that.”
“Never underestimate the length to which people are ready to go to when they're in love Eliott.”
Hugo looks so serious he represses a shiver under his piercing gaze. Eliott wants to believe him. His heart believes him already.
“Oh yeah it's true” Isaiah interrupts. “One of my exes once reenacted the Romeo and Juliette scene for me you know, the balcony one. Anyway I was on my balcony and he was in the street, in front of my house, waxing poetry. He was making his grand declaration of love at 3 am. It was cute” He says fondly. “And embarrassing. Hard to explain to my parents why there was a boy confessing his love for me at such an ungodly hour.”
“Why did you leave him then?” Hugo asks, genuinely curious.
Isaiah rewards him with a shrug.
“I saw him kissing another guy in a bar barely a week later.”
Ouch. Eliott winces. Someone just threw a cold glass of water in his face. The situation is too similar of the one he was currently in. He doesn't appreciate the feeling, even though he knows he deserve it. He decides it's better to stop listening for now, instead focusing back on Lucas (he's a masochist he knows) still sitting at the table, alone with Valentin .Eliott scowls. All of their friends have left, probably wanting to give the two lovebirds some time alone. Said Valentin is holding Lucas hand with care, as if it's a precious jewel, his other one stroking his thigh softly. The latter is blushing, happy by the turn of events. Eliott feels his eyes watering with each passing second. A snap of fingers in front of his eyes makes him look away.
“Why do you keep doing this to yourself? You know it's unhealthy right?”
“I know I know, I can't help myself that's all. I really hate seeing people all over him. I mean, it's great for him to have so many friends really but why do they have to be so touchy?” Eliott groans, pushing his tray away in order to rest his head in his arms, closing the world off for a moment.
“I feel you really but if this is some sorts of mind game as you claim it is Hugo, both are great actors I must say.” Isaiah replies, noticing Eliott's hunched shoulders, burying his head farther in his elbows.
“Or really close friends ” Hugo retorts.
“Let it go guys” Eliott sighs defeated, emerging from his makeshift pillow. “He's clearly over me, I need to move on too.”
He gazes down at his untouched food. Eliott isn't hungry, hasn't been for a few days. He flinches when he feels Hugo sit up straight as an arrow next to him, receiving a hard nudge in the stomach.
“Eliott look up. The door. Now”
“Wh...”
The words die on his tongue the moment he lifts his head up. He freezes, swallowing with difficulty. He's entranced by a pair of electric blue eyes he used to drown in an eternity ago. Across the cafeteria, Lucas is staring at him, hand intertwined with Valentin's, who is pulling him quite forcefully towards the exit Eliott notices. Before they vanish in the maze of hallways, Eliott stares right back, Lucas raising an eyebrow in pure smugness. His eyes are challenging him. All of his being is, in fact.
Come and get me. The boy mouthes at him, winking for emphasis, the ghost of a smile playing on his lips.
It's Eliott's only wish. After all, he's not ready to give up so easily, he will raise up to the challenge. He'll redeem himself. Eliott doesn't now how yet, but he will. He doesn't have a choice.

(More Hospital!AU)
Like she predicted, Santana gets a yeast infection from her antibiotics and she’s absolutely miserable until the Diflucan kicks in. She’s irritable with Brittany, she’s short with Liam and she groans more than she should when she wakes up to feed the twins. But then it’s over and Lauren starts at the hospital and the Pierces are coming to look at places to live in New York and Santana calms down. Like she always does after a bought with misery, she apologizes profusely to Brittany, she hugs the boys a little tighter and things go back to normal.
“My mom just called, they landed.” Brittany comes into Santana’s office where she’s working, phone still in her hand.
“I really feel bad we didn’t pick them up. Today was just a lot.”
“I know, if I rescheduled Mrs. Heeling’s surgery again she would have lost it. But they’re fine, they’re used to Boston. They just didn’t want to drive down and when we said they could use the car to go out to Long Island...”
“I can’t believe they’re going to bring our three kids to look at houses.” Santana laughs. “Though I’m sure my mother appreciates a few days to herself.”
“I think it will be good for your mom if my mom can take some of the days from her. She’s been absolutely amazing but I feel like it’s becoming a lot.”
“I’m just starting to realize that she’s getting older. Liam starting school will help, when she just has Max and Oliver, but before we know it they’re going to be all over the place.”
“That’s the first time you’ve said that without crying.” Brittany kisses Santana on the forehead. “Are you ready to go?”
“Yeah, let me just make my last notations in this chart and return it to the nurse’s station. I’ve got sepsis in a three year old, if it gets worse, I’m going to come in tonight. I’m not leaving it to the on call doctor.”
“Whatever you need to do, honey. I get it.”
Santana finishes up with her chart and she and Brittany leave the hospital, anxious to be there by the time Brittany’s parents get to the house. They get home and all three boys are taking a nap way too late but Maribel tells them Liam refused his nap and then passed out on the living room floor while he was playing. Though they invite Maribel to come to dinner with the Pierces, she gently declines, her eyes giving away that it was a really long day and she’s just ready to rest in the privacy of her own home.
“We should at least wake up Liam, shouldn’t we?” Santana asks once her mom is out the door.
“Let him sleep, he’ll be up late with my parents and a little while longer might do him some good. Do you want to take a shower first or should I?”
“Do you mind if I do? I feel extra disgusting today.”
“Go ahead, I’m going to start dinner and then I’ll jump in.”
Leaving Brittany downstairs, Santana goes up into their bathroom and turns the shower as hot as it can go. She steps under the spray of the water and lets it seep into her skin, rinsing off the grime of her day. When she’s finished, she turns off the water and hears Brittany calling her from downstairs. It’s unlike Brittany when she knows Santana is in the shower and so she quickly gets dressed and goes downstairs to find Brittany sprawled on the kitchen floor.
“Are you okay?” Santana bends down beside her and sees Brittany’s face contorted in pain.
“I fell off the kitchen counter and I’m pretty sure my tibia and fibula destroyed.” Brittany breathes through the pain, something Santana never can believe that another human being is capable of. “Can you look at it?”
“Britt...I can see it from here. We need to get you to the ER.”
“The kids...”
“Look, I’ll call Mercedes. She’ll come here and sit with them until your parents get here. This isn’t a joke.”
“I know it’s not a joke.” Brittany snaps a little. “I’m sorry...it just hurts like hell.”
”Just give me five minutes, I’ll get everything situated.”
Santana immediately snaps into her taking care of business mode and she gets Mercedes on the phone. Then, because she’s concerned about moving Brittany’s leg to get her into the car, she calls an ambulance. She’s so glad the the boys are still sleeping when the paramedics bring a stretcher into the house and help Brittany get on it. Santana knows she’s in a lot of pain because she doesn’t argue with the fact that she’s not doing this on her own and Santana just holds her hand until Mercedes gets there and they can leave.
“Do me a favor?” Santana murmurs to Mercedes. “Don’t let Brittany’s parents come to the hospital, it’ll be too much for them.”
“I won’t.” Mercedes promises. “But I’ll meet you there once they get here.”
“Thank you.”
The ambulance bay at the hospital brings back horrifying memories of mass casualty incidents for Santana as they enter through the back and she wonders if Brittany feels the same way. She just lays silent and white faced as the paramedics wheel her in and Santana squeezes her hand. Neither of them know the name of the new ortho attending that comes to see Brittany, but considering surgical is already involved, they both assume that the paramedics called in a worse break than they’d expected.
“We’re going to have to surgically repair it.” The young doctor who introduces himself as Dr. Hart tells Brittany after her x-rays come back. “You saw the bones, they’re both shattered, you’ll need a rod to hold them in place.”
“Is Tina Cohen-Chang on in anesthesiology?” Brittany asks calmly. “If she is, that’s who I want. How long have you been at this hospital?”
“Three months, I know who you are, Dr. Pierce, I’ve just never had the pleasure of working with you. I’ll see about Dr. Cohen-Chang for you.”
“I’m sitting in the gallery.” Santana interrupts.
“Santana. No you’re not.” Brittany shakes her head. “I need you to go talk to Sue, let her know what’s going on and to call my parents so they don’t have to hear I’m in here from Mercedes. You don’t need to be in the gallery, its just going to make you anxious.”
“But—“
“No. Please, Santana. I don’t want to argue with you.”
“Okay.” She concedes and kisses Brittany on the forehead. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“Hart, don’t screw this up.”
Before she does anything else, Santana listens to Brittany’s request that she call her parents. Whitney is beside herself when she hears that Brittany is in the hospital but Santana convinces her that everything will be fine and the best thing she can do is stay with the boys. Then, she calls her own mother and has a mini-breakdown, sobbing ugly sobs in the waiting room. Brittany has been the one in this position before, sitting in the waiting room when she had her breasts fixed, watching her as the twins were delivered early, but Santana doesn’t think she has the mental capacity for the roles to be reversed. She knows that she has to talk to Sue, tell her that Brittany is in surgery, but she can’t seem to get herself together.
“Hey, I know this is killing you, but you need to pull yourself together.” Mercedes sinks down in the chair next to Santana and holds out her hand. “She’s going to be fine.”
“What do you know about this Hart guy?”
“I checked him out in the cab on the way over. He was first in his class at Johns Hopkins, did his residency at UCLA, he’s good. She’s in good hands.”
“Goddamn it. She’s always the strong one, ‘Cedes. I don’t know how to do this.”
“Yes you do, you did it for Oliver.”
“I almost had a damn nervous breakdown after he was born. It was Brittany holding me together.”
“I’m here, okay? You’re not alone. She’s going to get out of this surgery and she’s going to recover and everything is going to be okay. You know that I don’t bullshit you.”
“I know.”
“You need to go talk to the chief. She needs to know that one of her department heads is in surgery, if the rumor mill hasn’t gotten to her already.”
“You’ll text me if someone comes out?”
“Immediately.” Mercedes promises. “Go.”
Wiping her face with her hands, Santana pulls it together and goes to the elevator. Sue is in her office when Santana gets there and she lightly taps on the door. The chief looks up, surprised to see her so late, and waves Santana in. Shifting her weight between feet, Santana takes a deep breath and looks Sue in the face.
“Hi Chief Sylvester, I just wanted to let you know that Brittany is in surgery right now. She fell of the kitchen counter and her leg is pretty damaged.”
“Who’s doing the surgery?” Sue clicks at the screen in her computer. “Dr. Hart, good choice.”
“We didn’t really have a choice, he was the on call doctor.”
“Well she’s lucky, he’s good.”
“Look, she just wanted you to hear it from me, so...”
“I’ll deal with HR for a medical leave for her. She’ll probably be in no shape to talk to me in the morning, but let her know it’s taken care of.”
“I know her, she’ll want to do her admin stuff from home.”
“Not this week. We’ll talk about it when she’s had time to recover. I’ll take over her scheduling for the time being and shift around her surgeries. She’s helped me enough, I just want her to heal.”
Santana thinks of all the times she’s thought Sue was a hard ass, but she’s surprisingly gentle when it comes to Brittany, and for that, Santana is grateful. She thanks Sue several times and goes back down to the waiting room where Mercedes is flipping through a magazine. She gets back in the chair next to her and sighs heavily.
“Everything go okay?”
“Yeah, I mean, she was super accommodating. She’s going to deal with the HR stuff, so...”
Hours pass and Santana FaceTimes with the boys, promising Liam that everything is okay and she’ll kiss him when she gets home. Finally, Hart comes out and he tells Santana that Brittany did well and is in recovery. She can’t get there fast enough, she’s not even sure that she thanked Mercedes for watching the boys or for sitting with her for hours but she just wants to see her wife. When she gets to the recovery room, Brittany has her eyes closed and Santana sinks down beside her, taking her hand.
“You’re pretty.” Brittany giggles, opening her eyes.
“And you’re very high.” Santana lets out a breathy, relieved laugh.
“I don’t feel anything in my leg. Joe said that it’s fixed, so that’s good.”
“Yeah, he said it was an easier surgery than he was expecting and if you’re up for it, you can go home tonight.”
“I want to sleep in my own bed. With you, pretty lady.”
“We can make that happen, you know we just have to make sure you hit your milestones.”
“Santana, I’m going to be out of work for a long time.”
“Six weeks, minimum. You need to heal it, you have to be able to stand for hours at a time.”
“I know. This is going to hurt like hell tomorrow.”
“I called Shelby while I was waiting. I’m taking the rest of the week. Good thing I still have so much banked time from all the years I didn’t take it.” Santana sighs.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
It takes awhile before Brittany is ready to go home, but when she is, a nurse wheels her out to the curb and Santana gets a cab. She puts Brittany’s crutches in first then helps her get situated and walks around to the other side. Because of the surgery, Brittany old has a soft cast on and Santana is extra careful that nothing touches her leg.
When they get to the house, Brittany is surprisingly good—even still under the influence of anesthesia and morphine—maneuvering on the crutches but Santana helps her up the front stairs and then Pierce comes running out to help Santana get her up in the inside staircase to bed. Once she’s settled and has taken a dose of her pills, Santana takes a deep breath and Whitney taps on the door.
“What can I do?” She asks helplessly.
“Mom, I’m okay, it’s just a little break.” Brittany yawns, tired from all the medication. “You and dad can go to bed.”
“Oh, honey.” Whitney comes over to Brittany’s side of the bed and kisses her forehead. “I’m so glad you’re alright.”
Once Whitney has said her good nights and Pierce comes in to do the same, Santana goes down the hall to Liam’s room. She kisses him and he murmurs in his sleep, trying to fight his body to talk to her. She’ll get up with him in the morning, exhausted as she is, because she wants things to be as normal as possible for him even though it’ll be difficult with Brittany down for the count. Once he’s tucked back under his blankets, she goes back into the bedroom and sees Brittany flipping through the channels on TV. She lifts Max and Oliver from their bed and guides her achingly full breasts to them so she can nurse them for the first time since early in the morning.
“I’m sorry, Santana.” Brittany whispers.
“Why are you sorry?”
“For not being more careful. It was a careless mistake and now...”
“Britt.” Santana shifts Max a little so she can kiss Brittany’s temple. “It was just an accident, we’ll figure it all out.”
“It’s just running through my head all I won’t be able to do with only one good leg.”
“Our focus is on getting you healed. Your parents are here, my mom isn’t far away, we have support to help us while you recover. If you want the privacy, we’ll keep you up here, if you want to be in the center of everything, we’ll get you downstairs and set up on the couch. I know you’re good on those crutches, but I don’t know how much you’ll feel like walking around at first.”
”It just...really hurts.”
“I broke my arm when I was seven. I don’t remember anything about it except how bad it hurt. Do you want a pill?”
“It hasn’t been long enough since they gave me the Vicodin at the hospital.” Brittany shakes her head. “I’ll wait, try to sleep, just...focus on something other than the pain.”
“Can I do anything?”
“Let’s just go to sleep.”
When Santana wakes up in the morning, she can tell by the way Brittany is snoring that she woke up and took another Vicodin during the night. Brittany is always so tough, it’s hard for Santana to know that she’s in so much pain. She gently kisses her forehead and slips out of bed. It’s earlier than she’d like to be up, Max and Oliver are still sleeping, but because she didn’t take an Ambien in case Brittany needed her, she’s awake.
She goes into the bathroom, takes a shower and brushes her teeth, coming out just in time for Oliver to start whining. Not wanting Brittany to get woken up, Santana lifts Oliver from the bassinet and then takes Max too, careful not to jostle him and wake him up. When she gets downstairs, Whitney is already awake and has made coffee, so she hands Santana a full mug once she puts Max down and has Oliver settled on her breast.
“Did you sleep at all?” Whitney asks Santana.
“Barely, I was so worried about Brittany. It’s a bad break and...I just...it’s stupid.”
“It’s probably not stupid.”
“Seeing her hurt is hard for me. She always has it so together and looking at her last night splayed on the kitchen floor in pain, it was just a lot.”
“You love her so intensely. As horrible as it is that she’s hurt, it makes me so glad to see the way you love her. I know you’ve been married over a year now, but I haven’t gotten to see this much before, I only know what Brittany tells me.”
“I’m sure there were a lot of not so great things.” Santana sighs.
“She’s never said a bad word about your love got her. She just worried about the difficulties you had after the twins were born.”
“She’s my rock. I’m trying to be a rock for her too.”
“You are.” Whitney pats Santana’s arm. “Trust me.”
Once Max is finished eating and Santana finishes her coffee, she goes upstairs, peeks into the bedroom to see that Brittany is still sleeping, then goes into Liam’s room. She knows that he’ll be up any minute, so she crawls under the covers with him, stroking his hair. She’s not sure how much he knows about what happened to Brittany, so she wants to be there as soon as he wakes up to answer any questions.
“Hi, Mommy Noodle.” He murmurs, burrowing into her side. “Why are you in my bed?”
“I just wanted to cuddle a little bit with you, Sir.”
“Is Mama sick? Gramma said she was at the hospital but not to get worried.”
“Mama broke her leg. She’s okay, but we’re going to have to be really careful with her. We can’t run and jump around her.”
“Can I cuddle her?”
“We’ll have to see how she feels, but I’m sure she’ll want a big hug from you.”
“Can I see how she feels now?”
“We can go see if she’s awake.” Santana mods. “But we need to be really quiet in case she’s still sleeping.”
Holding Liam’s hand, Santana creeps down the hall. When they get to the bedroom, Brittany is sitting propped up on the pillows frantically typing away on her phone. Liam’s smile is wide when he sees that she’s awake and he climbs up on the bed so carefully to get to her side. He lays his head on Brittany and she pulls him as close as she can, hugging him tightly.
“Mama, I was so scared when Gramma told me you had to go to the hospital.”
“Can I tell you a secret, bud?”
“Yes, I can keep secrets. But Mommy Noodle can know too.”
“You’re right.” Brittany smiles. “She can.”
“My secret is that I was scared to go to the hospital too. I haven’t had to go there for me since I was just bigger than you.”
“Me and Mommy Noodle and Maxie and Ollie went there.”
“You’re right, and that’s what reminded me to be brave.”
“Did you get a lollipop?”
“You know what?” She laughs. “It was so late that I forgot to ask for one.”
“Can we get some today?”
“It might be a little bit hard for me to go to the store, but I bet Mommy would get us some, maybe you can go with her?”
“Mommy Noodle, can we?”
“We can definitely do that. We’ll take Max and Oliver too, I bet they’d like a nice walk in the sunshine.” Santana tells him. “Grandma and Grandpa can stay with Mama when we go.”
“Honey, I’m fine if they have things to do. They’re here to look at houses.”
“We’ll figure it out. I don’t want to leave you here alone just yet.”
“Yeah, Mama.” Liam interjects. “We gotta take care of you.”
“Cuddling with you is helping a lot, Li.”
“Are you working on your phone?” Santana asks.
“I’m just sending an email to my department. I want them all to hear from me that I’ll be out for awhile. I’ll still do the scheduling and—“
“Liam, do you want to see if Grandma can get you breakfast?” Santana interrupts, wanting to have a heart to heart conversation with Brittany alone.
“Okay, Mommy Noodle.” He hugs Brittany once more and hops off the bed. “I’ll be back.”
“Britt, Sue wants you to do nothing this week. You’re hopped up on all kinds of pain killers, I can see from your face that they haven’t totally alleviated the pain. She told me you can talk next week and see what you’re up to doing but that she’s taking care of things for now.”
“Santana, it’s my department.”
“When I was out before the twins were born, you made sure that I was relaxing. Now I’m going to do the same for you.”
“I’m fine.” Brittany insists.
“You shattered two bones. You’re not fine.”
“I’m fine enough to work from home.”
“Look. Sue is not going to let you do it, so you can insist to me as much as you want. But remember what it felt like when I was the one saying I could do everything.”
“That was different.”
“No it wasn’t.” Santana shakes her head. “Both situations are about medical advice. I don’t want to argue with you.”
“I’m sorry.” Brittany rubs her temples. “I hardly slept last night and I’m just frustrated the happened. I just...it’s hard to step away.”
“I know that better than anyone and I get that it’s worse for toy because you have a whole department counting on you. But just take a few days, adjust to your medication, get some sleep.”
“I think I actually want to go downstairs, but I really don’t know how to do that.”
“We’ll take it one step at a time.”

this one is for @miss-pulet i’m sorry for such a delay but i got a little bit carried away n ended up with over 7k words ifjisjf i hope u will like it!
a little bit of you and me
Lucas hates everything soulmates stand for, especially the lack of choice and how fake it seems to be. Don’t even get him started on how weird his mark is. He definitely never wants to meet his soulmate.
But the universe? It always finds a way to fuck him over.
(Or, the one with a zoo, Eliott and some difficult dilemmas.)
At the age of six, Lucas had only a vague sense of understanding what exactly soulmates were. Being more invested in cartoons and his toys, he didn’t pay much attention to the mark over his heart. Unlike some kids around him, he didn’t observe the way it’d started changing its shape to something more than a dark blob that could have been easily mistaken for a mole.
Perhaps, that’s why when one day he was taking a shower and he noticed half of his chest was covered by dark shapes, he freaked out.
It took his parents over half an hour to calm him down and then another thirty minutes to convince him that his mark wasn’t ugly or weird.
Being twenty-one, Lucas still thinks his mark is bizarre. Of course, It’s gotten smoother over the years, more realistic. It doesn’t look like a pre-schooler doodled it.
But–
Some people have flowers, flames. Normally paired up animals. He, on the contrary, has got a hedgehog and a raccoon intertwined together. With no way of knowing the meaning behind it. Especially since he’s not very keen on meeting his soulmate.
Don’t get him wrong, good for all the people that have found their destined ones, but he’d rather stay out of this business. He can go on his whole life without meeting the person that made the strange duo form on his chest.
Soulmates are overrated.
***
The first day of Lucas’ summer internship at the local zoo would have been going pretty well if not for one tiny detail. Or well, not that tiny since Lucas is shorter, but. But, another intern keeps being very distracting through the whole day. From the second the guy anxiously introduced himself as Eliott, Lucas couldn’t have been able to stay calm. It doesn’t matter how hard he tries not to pay attention to him, he gives in to throwing glances now and then anyway.
The worst thing is that Eliott isn’t even doing anything special. He works with the animals, the same way Lucas or Imane and Manon do. Yet, all Lucas can do, is agonise in silence over how gentle and cute Eliott is with those they are supposed to take care of. It’s only day one, how Lucas is going to handle the next weeks is beyond him.
Having issues with being gay, but also being gay is a little bit problematic for Lucas. That’s why he hopes Eliott won’t get near him. That way Lucas will get his staring without any consequences. Besides, what business would Eliott have in talking to him?
Well, in Lucas’ opinion none.
***
Lucas is feeding the dolphins. Not having any prior experience with those animals, he was slightly hesitant the few first times, but eventually, he found out it’s not scarier than dealing with a chimpanzee.
The fish in the bucket are moist and Lucas’ face scrunches up each time he reaches out for one. In order not to have one sliding out of his grasp, he needs to properly hold it and it gets harder with each one. His palms are already fully covered in mucus.
The smell is going to cling to him for days to come. But he’s there for all of the animals, isn’t he? He’s going to face even worse things, the last thing he should be unhappy about is throwing some fish into the water. Some would say it’s even relaxing. He doesn’t need to use much of his brain for this task.
With that in mind, he lets his arms do the work while he tunes out. Next thing he’ll have to do is help with cleaning up some cages. That surely is going to be plenty of fun.
Well, he must have been naïve if he had thought he’d be spending all his time there playing with animals. The kid in him jumped out and the adult forgot about all of the awaiting responsibilities.
“How’s the first day going?”
Lucas jumps, snapped out of his daze. He nearly drops the bucket with the fish, but someone grabs it in the last moment and moves it back towards his hands.
His fingers clasp around the handle. Ignoring his wildly beating heart, he looks up at the intruder.
And oh boy, if it’s not the God himself. The smile that Lucas is on the receiving end of physically pains him. It’s wide and makes Eliott’s eyes crinkle up.
Lucas is sure he probably resembles the fish very well now. With the gaping and all.
They keep staring at each other, Lucas clutching the bucket against his stomach and Eliott standing there, his hair messy and cheekbones so sharp they could cut a bitch. His gaze seems piercing through Lucas who has yet to take a breath if he doesn’t want to suffocate and fall into the water to become dolphins’ dinner.
Pretty sure dolphins don’t eat humans, but that’s beyond the point.
Eliott’s lips move, but Lucas is too out of it. He doesn’t really register anything besides how nice the timbre of Eliott’s voice is. How pleasant.
He shakes his head.
“What?”
“I was repeating my question,” Eliott says, amused and Lucas nods slowly.
Oh, yeah. A question. He can’t make Eliott utter it for the third time. He needs to remind himself what exactly scared him.
Lucas hums, dumbly, searching his mind for clues, all the while Eliott’s eyes don’t leave his face. To say it’s unnerving wouldn’t be enough. He can’t focus. Until.
“Not bad,” Lucas stutters, casually throwing yet another fish into the water. “What about you?” he adds. If he shows how chill he is with the situation, maybe Eliott will forget whatever has just happened.
“I’m having fun. I love these little guys,” Eliott says, slightly tilting forward.
Lucas’ first instinct is to stop him from potentially falling into the water and ruining his perfectly styled hair, but he refrains. They are strangers, he’s not about to cross some boundaries and potentially touch him.
“Yeah? That means you haven’t dealt with enormous dump yet.” Oh, back with the complaining.
Eliott snorts and takes one of the fish out of Lucas’ basket. He doesn’t throw it to the animals but shoves it in front of Lucas’ face. Lucas steps back from it, puzzled but doesn’t say anything. He needs to play along even if he could end up with a mouthful of raw fish. He has no idea what Eliott is capable of after all.
“A little poop has never killed anyone,” Eliott says in a deep voice, while his fingers move the fish’s mouth as to imitate talking. That’s something Lucas did not expect. But maybe he should have. Given the context, there aren’t many things Eliott could have done with the fish.
Seeing that Eliott is not some mysterious enigma makes Lucas somehow less intimidated and he rolls his eyes, sighing. He wrings the fish out of Eliott’s hands before he tosses it into the water, careful not to touch Eliott’s skin. Boundaries, right.
“You’re weird. Don’t play with food,” Lucas retorts, but a little smile appears on his face anyway. He just can’t help himself. Sue him.
“You think I’m weird?” Eliott teases, nudging Lucas in the ribs. Well, as it seems, not everyone cares about boundaries. “Well, get ready because it’s going to get only weirder from now on.” There’s a promise in Eliott’s voice, accompanied by a wicked grin and eyes full of sparks.
Lucas’ heart skips a beat.
***
Lucas wasn’t all that keen on being friendly with Eliott, since Eliott is a very very cute boy. But what can one do when someone keeps on reaching out? And chatting them up? He can’t force Eliott to fuck off, he isn’t an asshole. Also, it’s not like he’s oh, so very bothered by it. Or, if he is, it’s not in the sense he ought to be.
It’s been, what, two weeks? Since Lucas has started working there. And so far Eliott has managed to work alongside him more often than not, entertaining Lucas with how he impersonates some animals or making the most mundane things sound interesting. They exchanged social media, followed each other on Instagram. Eliott has a tendency to send voice notes whenever anything out of ordinary happens. They’ve fallen into a habit of sending each other memes.
Just bro things.
Long story short, Eliott must have decided they should not only be co-workers but friends as well.
And if Lucas’ blush is from a prolonged eye-contact and not caused by physically dragging an animal from one place to another, well then, sucks to be him.

“So, what do you think about soulmates?” Eliott asks one day when they are eating lunch. They are both sitting at a small, tiny table with very little room between them.
Lucas swallows down his cheese and ham sandwich and shrugs.
“They exist,” he says, unbothered. He hears Eliott huff.
“Elaborate, maybe? Have you met yours? Are you excited to meet them?”
“Not really. I haven’t met them, but even if I had, I wouldn’t care.” Lucas turns to Eliott just to be met with a confused gaze. He smiles meekly. “I think it’s forced. You are expected to jump on some stranger just because your marks match? That’s bullshit. You don’t know them. Very shallow. And it’s like, what, if you fall for someone who isn’t your soulmate, it’s less valid? You have to leave them if you eventually meet that soulmate? Thank you very much. I don’t believe in its profoundness,” Lucas explains, his fingers idly playing with the sandwich.
Anyone who’s ever met him knows his opinion on the topic. He’s got many reactions whenever he spoke his mind; pity, skepticism or even understanding. But no one has ever been as baffled as Eliott is in this moment. Like he can’t quite grasp the meaning of Lucas’ words, as if this whole way of approaching the subject was unbelievable for him.
“And you?” Lucas eventually mutters, putting his sandwich down on the table. After playing with it for too long, it doesn’t look edible. And Lucas’ fingers are sticky from butter.
The tips of Eliott’s ears are pink when he admits, “Thinking about my soulmate kind of helps me get through.”
Oh.
Eliott looks down and then to the side, his teeth biting down on his bottom lip. “It’s kind of reassuring, knowing there’s someone that will get me. Accept all of me. I feel less alone. I see your point, though. I just think that you’re bound to eventually get to know them. Being soulmates makes the connection stronger, I guess.” He looks back at Lucas, something inexplicably sad hiding in his eyes. Despite that, he still smiles softly.
“Why do you think someone who’s not your soulmate wouldn’t accept you wholly?” Lucas asks, curious. He can’t imagine a universe in which someone could dismiss Eliott.
“Let’s just say I can be hard to love,” Eliott whispers, fingers tapping an uneven rhythm on the surface of the table.
Lucas wants to disagree, but he fears he could sound foolish. After all, he barely knows Eliott.
(Deeply, Lucas disagrees anyway. Eliott must have been told that he’s hard to love by all the wrong people. The people like Lucas’ dad who made his mother believe the same.)
***
Taking a walk back home with Eliott isn’t something unusual, but it sure makes Lucas aware of many things each time their shoulders brush.
They’ve been leaving the zoo together ever since they found out they don’t live far away from each other. Things feel completely different in the late evening and instead of being nervous around Eliott, Lucas finds himself getting relaxed. They don’t need to use words, especially when they pretty much use them up during the day. Sometimes they keep completely quiet right up until they part in front of Lucas’ building.
There’s a lake they pass by on their way there and that’s where they currently are at. The air around them is warm, with only a slight breeze blowing through their hair. There are still traces of the setting sun all over the sky, with its edges painted warm red. An occasional chatter coming from random passers-by’s. It’s that time of the day when the bugs start their concert. The atmosphere is peaceful, romantic even.
Lucas throws a glance towards Eliott and sees him closing his eyes, exhaling. The day was tiring and it shows on Eliott’s face just how worn out he is. But still, there’s something beautiful about him that Lucas can’t find a name for.
Eliott opens his eyes lazily as if he’s sensed he’s been watched and they look at each other for a few seconds too long. Eliott smiles at him and the back of his palm knocks against Lucas’ fingers.
Lucas feels like he could stay in this moment forever.
***
Lucas should have known that a bored Eliott holding a hose would be a dangerous combination.
It hits him just how dangerous when he’s minding his business, cleaning up the cage with his own hose just to suddenly have the back of his shirt drenched in a matter of seconds. He doesn’t even have time to escape the attack.
He can hear loud cackles and after turning around, ready to throw hands, he’s faced with Eliott who’s doubling over from how hard he’s laughing.
“That’s funny to you?” Lucas asks, exasperation audible in his voice.
Eliott fans himself with his hands, visibly trying to contain his laughter, but fails horribly. What’s worse, his laughter turns into loud snorts. Lucas’ chest is filled with fondness and he can’t have that.
That’s why he raises his hose up and points it directly at Eliott’s scrunched up face. The laughter dies down immediately and Lucas can’t help, but feel smug. After seeing how ridiculously adorable Eliott looks like, it’s Lucas’ turn to crack-up. He thinks he got his point across, his revenge if you will. That’s why he’s completely caught off guard when Eliott mercilessly covers the rest of Lucas’ body in water.
It’s needless to say things can only escalate from this point on and soon enough they are having a full on fight. The only sounds audible over the stream of water are their chuckles. They get so into it that Lucas ends up in Eliott’s headlock, having the water poured down his head. His face is squished against Eliott’s chest and if they weren’t in the middle of a war, Lucas would have panicked.
But as it is, he’s way too competitive and too into it as of now. He tries to wring out of Eliott’s hold. To no avail, sadly. He only manages to pull away slightly, far enough to open his eyes.
Far enough to have his heart stutter in his chest when he sees Eliott’s skin under his soaked shirt. It’s so wet it’s become see-through and to Lucas’ horror, he’s mere centimeters from a mark he knows all too well. That isn’t on his skin.
He stops fighting against Eliott and just stares at the weird combination of animals displayed over Eliott’s heart. It’s exactly the same as Lucas’ and he looks down on himself to check whether his own mark stands out as proudly as Eliott’s.
He lets out a sigh of relief upon noticing it’s still covered.
“Please, don’t tell me I damaged you with that water,” Eliott says next to Lucas’ ear and Lucas looks up into his eyes, panicked. He must have spaced out, if the worried look on Eliott’s face is anything to go by. Their hoses have been turned off and there are tentative arms supporting Lucas’ weight against Eliott’s body.
It’s then that he realises how weak in the knees he is.
He straightens up and puts some distance between their bodies, a reassuring smile stretching his lips.
“I’m fine,” he says, his voice sounding foreign even to his ears. Eliott must catch onto something as well because he doesn’t look convinced. “Really, I’m all good,” Lucas insists and gives Eliotts a thumbs up to emphasise.
He’s far from feeling good, but he needs to leave freaking out for later. He can’t let Eliott know what he’s just found out.
Lucas nudges Eliott in the shoulder and looks around.
“We made more mess than there was, to begin with,” he says, pleased with how calm he appears. “Come on, let’s get changed and try to fix it up,” he adds.
Eliott nods, his lips pursed, and follows Lucas to the lockers. Completely unaware of all the emotional turmoil going through Lucas’ mind.
***
No, no, no. Nononononono.
No.
Eliott can’t be Lucas’ soulmate. He just can’t. It’s not allowed. Maybe his eyes played some tricks on him.
Lucas is standing in the bathroom, getting ready for another day of work. He hasn’t moved for the past few minutes, though, his eyes glued to his reflection in the mirror. More precisely, to the mark on his chest. He’s never spent as much time studying the image as now. He’s trying to find any detail that would tell him his mark and Eliott’s are not the same.
Because they can’t be, shit.
Lucas has been feeling so fucking good around Eliott. Might have even started to like him. Like, the instant connection between them made him feel exhilarated. Big ‘fuck you’ to everyone claiming you can’t have an honest bond with someone that isn’t your soulmate. And sure they haven’t known each other long enough to have that depth, yet. But Lucas swears there was a potential of something grand.
Now it turns out all of that was a scam. They don’t like each other for who they are, but because the universe is telling them.
That’s the last thing Lucas wished for. This choice to make, that he was robbed off. Yet another one. If he was forced to be in a dysfunctional family, with sexuality that people were killed for, he could at least be free to choose who he wanted to love.
And it’s a shame, because Eliott is someone Lucas could see himself easily falling for.
He sighs deeply with resignation and pulls a shirt over his head. Even covering the mark doesn’t make him feel any better.
***
Lucas is inclined to putting some distance between himself and Eliott, but he wants to be subtle about it. Eliott is a smart guy and if Lucas stopped whatever they have going on out of the blue, he’d get suspicious. And Lucas is pretty determined in avoiding the outcome where Eliott finds out the truth.
It’s not easy, the distance thing. For more reasons than one. They work together, Eliott is a pretty affectionate guy and a part of Lucas doesn’t want to be away from him. But what has to be done, has to be done. So Lucas throws himself into the work. It’s reasonable for him to focus on it than on messing around with his co-worker.
Eliott seems to buy it.
It gets less subtle as time passes. They still work side by side, but most of the time Lucas is left alone. He tries not to appear cold or bothered when Eliott chats him up during lunch breaks, but he also doesn’t put as much effort as before. Using his phone while Eliott talks to him may be rude, but at the very least it makes Eliott take the memo and after a couple of days, his attempts to make a conversation are very few. Eliott stops walking Lucas home and eventually, their relationship turns into one between two people that work at the same place and may not even be very fond of each other.
No lingering stares, no accidental touches and no relaxing silences.
Well, it may be cruel, but Lucas would rather have Eliott not liking him than knowing they are soulmates.
The internship will end at some point and they won’t have to see each other ever again anyway. That’s what Lucas tells himself every time he wants to reach out to Eliott.
Everything goes on like that for quite some time and Lucas makes peace with it. He convinces himself that he stopped the storm before it properly started. Everything is good up until Manon suggests they all should grab dinner together, hang out a little bit since they’ve gotten familiar enough with the whole staff working at the zoo. No one seems to be against the idea.
For a moment Lucas tries to come up with an excuse not to come, but he quickly talks himself out of it. With nearly everyone participating, there will be a pretty big crowd. Just because he’s avoiding Eliott, it doesn’t mean he has to shut himself off completely. The chances are, they won’t even run into each other. Right?
***
It’s only Lucas’ luck that he ends up sandwiched between Imane and Manon all the while Eliott is sitting right across him. And he’d have to be stupid not to notice the expectant looks Eliott keeps throwing his way.
He pretends he’s stupid, though, and with his head hanging low, he tries to seem as engrossed in his food as he can.
The fact everyone’s talking amongst each other and they don’t pay much attention to him besides asking him to pass them something is good. The fact he’s hyper aware of Eliott at any second not so much, though.
The girls are having a discussion over his head that more people start joining in and Lucas wishes he could participate, act normally, but he hasn’t slept much lately and his mind is too full. All he craves is some quiet.
Someone kicks him under the table. Not hard, giving him a way to brush it off as an accident. And that’s how he knows it’s Eliott.
Lucas is tired. Tired of the avoiding, of how he screwed up the friendship that has started blossoming between them. All because he’s a stuck-up bitch who denies himself good things in life because of reasons. Even if they are soulmates it doesn’t have to mean everything between them will be completely fake.
He doesn’t want to deny Eliott any longer.
That’s why he looks up.
He’s met with an anxious smile tugging at Eliott’s lips, but determination lighting up his eyes.
“Want to leave?” he mouths, tilting his head towards the exit.
Lucas doesn’t hesitate before nodding.
The first minutes after they’ve left, they are just walking aimlessly around, not uttering a single world. And it’s not the same comfortable silence they shared before. Lucas knows it’s his fault for creating that gap between them.
They were fast to go from strangers to friends to strangers again.
“The weather is nice tonight,” Eliott breaks the quiet and Lucas needs a moment to process. It’s weird to hear Eliott speaking to him so casually all of sudden.
“The weather? Really?” Lucas retorts, hoping he doesn’t sound hostile.
“Why not? It’s better than nothing.” Lucas sees Eliott shrugging out of the corner of his eye.
Lucas sighs and moves a hand over his face. “I’m sorry for acting so weird lately,” he says, glancing at Eliott.
“It’s okay, we’re all a little weird from time to time,” Eliott’s voice is calm when he speaks, but there’s something hidden underneath it. “You know, sometimes I feel like leaving everything behind and starting over. Sometimes I do things that normally I wouldn’t. We all have our demons.”
Lucas bites down on his lip. Eliott is sharing something personal with him to make Lucas feel more comfortable. To justify the way he’s behaved. Lucas isn’t sure how to feel about it.
“I shouldn’t have acted like a dick, though,” he says, frowning and Eliott’s gaze lays on him.
“You shouldn’t have,” he agrees, his voice full of emotion. Lucas feels like there’s more Eliott wants to add, but he only settles on a soft, “Are you better now?”
Lucas stops walking and Eliott does the same. He turns towards Lucas so they are facing each other and Lucas can’t stop his heart from beating faster when he meets Eliott’s eyes. When he realises how close they are after weeks of distance.
They stare at each other, both searching and expectant. The evening air around them is thick with anticipation.
Lucas tilts his chin up. “Yeah, I am,” he whispers and gets the brightest smile in return.
***
There’s more between them now than there was before. The looks are growing bolder and gestures are going way beyond friendly. Their feet are pressed together during their breaks and there are smiles reserved solely for each other. There’s an unspoken what are we every time they get too close. Eliott pulls Lucas in and Lucas doesn’t resist. He doesn’t want to resist even if it’s against everything he believes in. Everything is the same, but at the same things have changed dramatically.
For example, now, Eliott invited Lucas to come over. He’s never done that. Besides the dinner and their walks after work, they’ve never hung out outside the zoo.
They’ve ordered pizza and have been drinking beer, the atmosphere relaxing and soothing. They are sitting next to each other on the couch, their knees brushing against each other. They’ve eaten almost everything and Lucas feels heavy. Tired. Like he could fall asleep in seconds. The fact he’s surrounded by warmth makes him even lazier.
He turns his head and he looks at Eliott. He doesn’t even flinch when Eliott notices and stares at him back. Lucas lets himself watch. He marvels at how the light reflects in Eliott’s eyes, how soft his hair seems to be and how inviting his parted lips are. There mere centimeters keeping them apart feel like they are kilometer long, but at the same time like there’s no space left for air between them.
It’d be so easy to kiss Eliott in this moment. And maybe Eliott would kiss him back.
Lucas stands up before he inches closer and changes things even more.
He can feel Eliott’s eyes on his back when he takes his steps further away from the couch. He takes a look at Eliott’s face and he seems to be asking why do you keep running away? to which Lucas’ only answer would be I’m scared.
The territory they are currently crossing is as tempting as it is dangerous. Considering everything Lucas’ knows about their supposed bond, he doesn’t dare to take the leap towards his destiny.
What if all he feels towards Eliott is only caused by the soulmate thing? It’s killing him, the lack of knowledge about his own matters of the heart. What part of all of this is genuine and how much of it is just a cunning ploy designed by the universe? What if none of it is truly real?
His eyes land on a drawing of a raccoon. The blood drains from his face and his breath hitches in his throat.
“What is this?” He points at the image, feigning nonchalance.
Eliott moves from the couch and comes to a stop directly behind Lucas. His front is almost touching Lucas’ back and he rests his chin on Lucas’ shoulder. His exhale tickles the side of Lucas’ neck, raising goosebumps over his skin.
“It’s me,” he says.
Lucas scoffs and turns his head slightly to the side to get a proper look at Eliott’s face. “Huh?”
“Like a spirit animal?” Eliott offers sheepishly.
Lucas stares at him, partly amused and partly baffled.
“So, like your fursona?” he asks, his tone teasing and Eliott’s eyes widen.
“I don’t think that’s what a spirit animal is,” he mutters, his cheeks growing redder with each passing second.
“Spirit animals are like in Native American’s culture, though. I believe you are just a regular furry, buddy,” Lucas retorts and reaches behind to pat Eliott sympathetically on the shoulder.
“This is embarrassing,” Eliott mumbles and hides his face in Lucas’ neck. Only then does Lucas realise how close they are. Despite the fact that he moved away earlier just to avoid something exactly like that happening.
“It’s okay,” he says meekly and clears his throat. “I accept you,” Lucas adds, letting out a chuckle right after.
Eliott buries his face deeper in the place where Lucas’ neck and shoulder connect. Eliott is clearly ashamed. “I’m not a furry,” he insists, his lips moving against Lucas’ skin and sending a shiver down his spine. They stay like that for what feels like forever and then, “You’d be a hedgehog.”

“How’s the internship going?” Yann asks while Lucas is taking a sip from his bottle.
Seeing how they all have been busy both with preparations for the uni to start and their jobs, it’s amazing that Lucas, Yann, and Arthur managed to find one evening when they were free and could chill together. Lucas has to admit he’s missed his friends and how he doesn’t have to worry about anything around them. Besides, it’s nice to escape the conflicting Eliott-feelings for at least a few hours. They’ve been so close ever since they reconciled that at times it gets overwhelming. Lucas wonders if it’s this intense because they are soulmates.
He wipes his mouth with the back of his palm and puts his beer down.
“It’s okay. Tiring,” he says, crossing his arms over his chest.
“You reek of animals,” Arthur chimes in and Lucas huffs.
“I do not,” he retorts. Lucas can admit, the smell was hard at the very beginning, but he’s been taking two showers a day and he’s bought shower gels that are supposed to be efficient. So he does not reek.
Unless he’s just got very used to that animal fragrance.
“You kinda do, dude,” Yann adds, kicking Lucas’ ankle. Arthur snorts and the two of them high five each other.
He needs new friends.
“Anyways, guys! I have news. I met my soulmate,” Arthur announces proudly, his grin blinding.
Lucas rolls his eyes. Amazing news. Really. Ten out of ten.
Yann congratulates Arthur, of course, and that’s when it hits Lucas and he sits up straighter.
“Didn’t you have a boyfriend?” he asks and is surprised at how harsh he sounds.
Arthur tilts his head to the side, his eyes narrowed. “Yeah? So?”
“So you just broke up with him?”
That’s fucking why Lucas hates soulmates. They ruin everything. Whichever higher power decided this concept was okay, must have been really fucked up–
“I didn’t?” Arthur looks between Yann and Lucas, baffled. “Why would I?”
“Because you met your soulmate?”
“So? We hit it off, sure, but there aren’t any other feelings between us? I like her as a friend, but I love my boyfriend. And she’s a lesbian. So any feelings beyond platonic are impossible,” Arthur explains, his tone edging on being defensive, but at the same staying composed.
“I don’t understand. Isn’t a soulmate supposed to be the love of your life? Written in the stars and all that shit?” Lucas asks, feeling more and more stupid after receiving puzzled looks from Arthur and Yann.
“Sure it happens, but mostly when the people like, fall for each other, you know? The stars aren’t in control of your feelings, though. Your soulmate is just a person you vibe with. Can be romantic, can be platonic. Hell, some people hate each other’s guts but are soulmates. Being soulmates with someone just means you two get each other on some deeper level. The connection is stronger. But developing romantic feelings for them? Or any at all? That’s all just chemicals in your brain,” Arthur explains, his index finger pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
“Yeah, and some people are convinced that soulmates are solely romantic and get together with them the second they meet. Later on, they realise they have no romantic feelings for the person and puff,” Yann adds and Arthur nods at his words.
Lucas feels as if his whole world has shifted off its axis.
Wow. His mind? Blown.
This honestly changes the perspective.
“You okay, Lucas?” Yann asks, watching him like he’s grown a second head.
“Yeah, I’m just processing,” he mumbles, staring down at his lap.
So, his whole life has been a lie. How does one just recover from that? Why has no one ever told him all of that? Now what? He can let himself… feel? Without second thoughts and always stepping back?
As if on cue, his phone vibrates in his pocket. He pulls it out and there’s a notification staring back at him. A message from Eliott. He hesitates for a moment before he clicks on it.
see you tomorrow at the zoo gate at 9pm
Lucas clutches the phone to his chest and looks up at the ceiling, disbelieving.
***
He didn’t get more information from Eliott, but supposing Eliott didn’t cancel, they’re still on. Lucas has no idea what Eliott could have planned, especially there out of all places. After everything Lucas has found out the day before, he doesn’t care that much. He’s just excited to meet up with Eliott and finally stop holding back.
Funny how he needed to be told that his feelings for Eliott aren’t caused solely on the fact they are soulmates. Although, considering his aversion towards the whole concept and his past experiences, it’s not surprising that he couldn’t believe it earlier.
Now, he can finally breathe freely. He’s glad he didn’t fuck up their relationship to the point of no return. He’s glad they haven’t parted their ways yet before anything could happen. Maybe it’s high time Lucas forgave the universe. At least partly.
It’s dark outside and he’s thankful for the fact the zoo management spends so much money on keeping the area around lit up. Otherwise, he’d have been spooked.
Waiting at the gate, Lucas wonders when Eliott is going to arrive. There are still a couple of minutes left and Lucas is sure Eliott wouldn’t be late – he tends to be anxiously early when it comes to the job. So there’s no need to worry about having to wait too long. Unless Eliott stands him up. But he wouldn’t, would he? God, Lucas should have texted him something more besides an okay.
“Hey, hey,” someone is whisper-shouting and Lucas turns around to face the gate that has now been slightly opened. He sees Eliott waving at him to come in and without a single thought, Lucas complies.
After that, Eliott shuts the gate closed again and smiles widely at Lucas.
“What are we doing?” Lucas asks in a hushed voice.
“We are having a date,” Eliott answers, his tone solemn. Lucas can feel the heat creeping up his neck after hearing those words.
A date. They are having a date a day after Lucas realised that whatever they have is real. The fate isn’t fucking around, huh.
But there’s something gnawing at his conscience.
“What about the guards? The cameras? We could be fired for it,” Lucas states, getting antsy at the mere thought.
“A little birdie told me which place is almost never checked and well, let’s say the security will be looking away from certain monitors tonight, if you know what I mean.” Eliott winks at him.
The realisation dawns on Lucas and he opens his mouth. “You didn’t. You know bribing is illegal?”
“Worth it,” Eliott says and shrugs, still beaming at Lucas. “Also, the internships are almost over so not much to lose. Come on.” He tugs on Lucas’ sleeve and drags him in an unknown direction. Lucas lets Eliott guide him without any objections.
They end up by the hippo exhibit and Lucas stops in his tracks. It’s not the place that shocks him, but the blanket laying on the ground with food waiting on it and all the candles carefully placed all over the area. It’s probably unsafe, but everything be damned no one has ever prepared something like that for him.
Eliott has sat down and is fidgeting in place, looking everywhere, but at Lucas. It’s endearing, really.
“I hope I didn’t overdo it,” he admits quietly, his fingers playing with the sleeves of his hoodie.
Lucas comes closer, wary not to knock any of the candles over. He crouches in front of Eliott and grabs both of his hands.
“It’s perfect. Really,” he murmurs, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips and Eliott visibly relaxes.
After that Lucas sits down, reluctantly letting go of Eliott’s palms, and they start eating. An easy banter flows between the two of them and Lucas feels truly content. If someone had told him he’d be on a date with Eliott a few weeks ago, he’d have wholeheartedly disagreed with them. Now, it’s like everything is finding its place.
Funny how fast things change. How they don’t need many words to navigate that fragile thing between them. Lucas just feels like he belongs right there, with Eliott. And he hopes Eliott feels the same.
There’s some fear in Lucas, though. Fear of how Eliott could start acting if only he found out about who they were to each other. Because well, Lucas knows what he feels right now. With or without the soulmate aspect, he’d have fallen for Eliott. And Eliott seems to like him as well, but Lucas knows how Eliott is about soulmates. How important it’s for him. What if he goes overboard once he learns the truth?
“Are we dating now?”
Lucas looks up from his nearly empty plate at Eliott, snapped out of his thoughts. Eliott seems shy and uncertain.
“Do you want us to?” Lucas asks, his heart beating fast and loud.
Eliott shifts closer to Lucas, kneeling in front of him and Lucas straightens up.
Eliott’s voice is shaky when he speaks. “Can I confess something?”
Lucas only nods in response.
Eliott reaches out for Lucas’ hand and before saying whatever he wants to say, he puts Lucas’ palm over his heart. Presses it against his chest. If Lucas focuses hard enough, he can feel the quick thump thump thump under his fingertips. The gesture is even grander for him since he knows just what exactly rests on the skin he’s touching through the material.
Eliott doesn’t let go. He closes his eyes and exhales harshly through the nose, bracing himself. Then, he looks deeply into Lucas’ eyes. “I’m bipolar, Lucas. I think you should know that,” he pauses to take a deep breath before continuing, “and a lot of people tried to convince me that anything I feel is a delusion caused by my illness. But I know that what I’m feeling right now, with you, is true,” he admits, his gaze unwavering.
“And what are you feeling?” Lucas asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
“That you are the only one I want,” Eliott answers like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
“Yeah?” Lucas inches closer, up until he’s on Eliott’s eye level. His fingers curl up over Eliott’s heart.
“Yeah,” Eliott breathes out against Lucas’ mouth.
They stare at each other for a few more seconds before Lucas captures Eliott’s lips in a kiss. It’s desperate and messy at first, but they quickly find their rhythm. And despite them having never kissed before, it feels they’ve already done it over a thousand times. It’s familiar.
Like coming home.
***
He’s going to tell Eliott. Lucas needs to do so or else it’ll kill him.
It’s been almost two weeks since their zoo date(no one was captured and candles didn’t burn anything down, much to Lucas’ surprise) and they’ve been together ever since. It’s been amazing. Lucas has never felt happier if he’s being completely honest. One can take whatever they want from it. The point is, that despite things going well, there hasn’t been a day when Lucas didn’t think about the soulmate secret.
Eliott deserves to know. And not when they end up being shirtless together. No, Lucas needs to be honest with him. Eliott told him things about himself despite his fears. So Lucas owes him. And there’s no better occasion to spill his guts than during their next date.
They are at an amusement park. The summer is about to end and Eliott was adamant on going there. Said there’s no better way to celebrate going back to adult life than getting in touch with their inner younger selves. Lucas couldn’t argue with that, especially when Eliott looked at him with those eyes.
Now they are walking hand in hand, munching on some candy floss and thinking of where to go next. Lucas can’t find the right moment to reveal the truth to Eliott and it’s awful.
“Can I ask you something personal?” Eliott asks, grabbing one of Lucas’s hands and swaying it back and forth.
Lucas hums.
“I know we’ve talked about soulmates before.” Oh, fuck, oh, shit he’s seen right through Lucas and is about to call him out, isn’t he? “You told me why you hate the phenomenon. But I was wondering if something happened for you to be so against it?” So Eliott is only curious about it? That’s great.
No need to stress it.
“My parents were married for years, but then my dad met his soulmate and left in an instant,” Lucas says and feels Eliott squeezing his palm. Something warm spreads through his chest. “I wish my tragic backstory was more interesting. But you know what?”
“Hmm?”
“I’ve been kind of warming up to this whole thing. I talked to some people. And yeah,” he finishes lamely and glances briefly at Eliott. Who for some reason, is grinning.
“Maybe let’s go there,” Lucas suggests, pointing towards a giant roller coaster.
He hears Eliott huff and then saying in a gentle tone, “Sure.”
Soon enough they are buckled up and holding each other’s hands like their life depended on it. The moment they are moving, Lucas regrets ever thinking it was a good idea.
He closes his eyes against the wind and he’s sure his fingernails are going to leave half-moon shaped marks all over the back of Eliott’s palm.
At some point, they come to a stop and Lucas opens his eyes, relieved it’s the end just to find out they are very fucking high. About to drop. God fucking save him.
“Hey, Lucas!” Eliott shouts and Lucas turns towards him. Seeing him relaxed and smiling grounds Lucas, no matter how cheesy it sounds.
“What?”
Eliott sobers up in a matter of seconds. “Remember that time we had this water fight? And we went to change?” Lucas nods. Of course, he remembers. Everything has been turned upside down since then. “I saw you changing your shirt,” he says, a meaningful look over his face.
Lucas squints at him, his brain not quite catching up with what he’s just heard. Eliott squeezes his hand again today and Lucas gapes when he realises what kind of bomb Eliott has dropped on him. He wants to say something, but before he has a chance to, they are falling down.
And despite that, the only thing he sees is Eliott.
