I can't find where but theres an interview where gosho mentioned that ran's future has already been decided and foreshadowed. A theory someone made from this is Ran will be an actor (based on that episode where Makoto got hired as an actor) and then retires when she gets married to Shinichi to parallel Yuusaku and Yukiko. NGL i absolutely hate that retiring your successful career for a man part but whatever. Aoyama the misogyny king what else is new. What i'm trying to say is Ran that stars in a commercially successful Black Widow etc etc

You know, come to think of it, Kaito and Ran have some similarities.

They were both forced to grow up fast due to the decision of their parents. For Kaito, his father faked his death. For Ran, her parents divorced.

They both turn their interest into their strengths. Ran's skill in Karate has helped her many times in dangerous situations, and so did Kaito with his magic skills.

They love their parents. Kaito would do anything as long as it is for his folks. He's doing heists as a way to follow his father's footsteps and to avenge him. Ran is still holding onto hope that her parents will get back together. She stays with her father to take care of him.

It seems that their parents are their vulnerable spots.

But they were also neglected by said people. Despite their independence, deep down, they wish that their life could go back to how it was. Back to the family they once had.
