S2E1 - The Arrival Write Up P4 - the Present Day from The Box to Crowley's arrival at the coffee shop
There has been an awful lot of rambling from me on this episode so far, so let’s see if we can’t rattle through a few scenes without me picking them to pieces. Unfortunately, I am going to fail at the very first frame of this section of the episode, because I want to talk about the location this scene is shot in. It caught my eye from the off because I was struck by how beautifully picturesque it was, despite us being led to believe that our storyline is still in London (note the lack of placard to tell us otherwise). And so of course I Googled. Turns out this street isn’t in London at all, but is in fact in Edinburgh (for those amongst you for whom UK geography isn’t a necessary knowledge item, that’s a distance of just over 300 miles). Huh. Well alrighty then, Crowley and his Bentley are in Edinburgh. Despite us just seeing Crowley in St. James’s Park. But wait, what’s that in the background?
Well on the right of the tower structure is the Gherkin building, and I believe the one on the left is the Shard (this is confirmed in episode 2). Huh. So London after all then, seeing as even the most eagle-eyed of people wouldn’t be able to place London skyscrapers in the background of a photo taken in Edinburgh. I have 3 possible suggestions for what I think is going on here:
Crowley really is in Edinburgh. There’s some sort of portal that he is able to navigate through, which also shows him the background to where it leads.
Crowley really is in Edinburgh. The background view is another example of the impossible view we can see from Heaven’s HQ.
Crowley is in London. This is just a quirk of filming – somebody found a beautiful location for a shot and wanted to use it. Adding distinctive London landmarks into the background is a convenient way of reminding the audience that the storyline hasn’t left London.
Of the three of those possibilities, I am actually minded to go with the last one. I know, I know: it’s not like me to be so dismissive of potential subtext possibilities. If you’ll forgive me, I would like to revisit this little scenario in the next episode, when we get a little more of that background, and I will happily argue my case further.
There’s something I find interesting about Shax’s behaviours. Or more, her lack of them, and what that suggests for Crowley. She is completely clueless to any kind of human subtlety. She doesn’t understand the etiquette of calling vs. showing up, she doesn’t understand sarcasm. It’s something that Crowley seems to think he can educate her in, as if its part of her training for her to reside on Earth successfully. Here’s the interesting thing though – Crowley never had that sort of induction period. He understood sarcasm, manners and etiquette right from the beginning of his time on Earth; we see him using all three during his conversation with Aziraphale on the wall. Furthermore, Shax’s behaviours appear to be consistent with other demons – Hastur doesn’t understand jokes, and Ligur had little historical knowledge of life on earth. In my mind, all of these things just serve to enforce the idea that Crowley has never really been “all demon” further – he’s always been closer to human than he was to a demon. Not only that, we can apply this same set of suppositions to Aziraphale and his (lack of) similarities to his angel brethren, because we see the same sort of discord between his natural human behaviours and their forced ones.
Ooh, soundscape time! It’s been a LONG time since I pointed out something in the soundtrack, not because it’s any less important or impressive, just because there is so much to say about this season in general. We’re coming back to the miracle noises though, and it’s about time because I think they will be come incredibly important to the storyline from now on.
Alright, so we’re back something that sounds like a cymbal being brushed, possibly with a little trumpet-like call at the end of it (that could be part of the soundtrack, rather than the noise for Shax’s disappearance: the two blend into one another so it’s impossible to tell). Now that we know what a miracle sounds like in this season (at least as far as demonic miracles are concerned anyway), we know what to look for going forward.
Alright, so remember what I said about the fly not being in the box but then crawling into the box? Well, the fly is definitely in the box when Aziraphale opens it:
It is very hard to see - it’s probably a bit easier to pick out in the shot that immediately follows, but this one is what we see as the box is being opened, so there can be absolutely no debate on this one as far as I’m concerned. We will also hear the fly leaving the box in a few minutes when Aziraphale steps away from his desk.
Now then, what is this funny exchange between Gabriel and Aziraphale? This is one of those moments that, like the interactions between them in the previous write up section, I have struggled to reconcile with the narrative from the first season where Aziraphale is, rightly, scared to be in Gabriel’s presence.
GABRIEL: You’re funny. I love you. AZIRAPHALE: Oh. Thank you. I- (Gabriel looks on expectantly.) Hm. (Aziraphale looks away.)
So firstly, I’m of a mind that Gabriel says this in his innocent amnesiac state where he doesn’t understand the weight that those words carry (we actually hear him say he “loves” the names Gabriel, Jim, and James, shortly after this exchange – it’s clearly a word he doesn’t understand the weight of). His expectant look at Aziraphale suggests that he understands he wants to hear it said back to him, but the vacant grin also suggests that if he did he’d just assume that was a normal part of conversation. At this point in the storyline, I actually think Gabriel’s behaviour is rather reminiscent of watching a child that ate the brownies Mommie made for the grown-ups, and as such, I don’t think we can put a lot of stake in the words he happens to vomit out of his mouth. It’s actually Aziraphale’s reaction I find more interesting because his first reaction is to say thank you. His expression even suggests that he has taken this to be a compliment, as if he finds it flattering to believe he could be lovable.
angel? What would possess you to even consider saying those words to this being? Granted he stops himself, it’s just I can’t understand why he even begins to say it in the first place. I don’t think I could even argue it was instinctive reflex – there wouldn’t be a pause between Gabriel’s statement and his reply if that was the case. And let’s be clear about the tone here – Aziraphale isn’t under any sort of pressure, there’s no threat of danger, and the dominant mood I get from him towards Gabriel at this point isn’t one of fear, but of exasperation. There’s just something about this little exchange that I can’t make sense of – I even went so far as to consider whether the statue in the background (which I believe is of Diana the Huntress) and the fact that it could be argued to be threatening him with an arrow to the back, but I couldn’t get that to make sense either. Maybe (just maybe) this is just something that was added because it was funny, but I’d love to hear what other people think about it.
Alright, let’s move on, and talk for a second about what I think is probably a little Easter egg. Where is it that Aziraphale plucks Gabriel’s yet-to-be adopted name from?
Aside from the fact that these books appear to be in literally NO order*, and that Gabriel is about to become the namesake of another nonchalant “Lord” reference, there might be something in the plot of this book that makes it the perfect choice. From what I understand, the book is about a crew that abandons a passenger ship in distress (for “ship in distress” read “Heaven”), and the subsequent effects that the event has on one of the crew members, whose name is Jim, who spends the rest of his life coming to terms with himself and his past, seeking redemption and acceptance. I mean. Oof doesn’t really cover it, does it?
* Some of them don’t even have any writing on their spines for somebody’s sake. I can’t tell you how distressing I find this. The only reason for this I am prepared to accept is that the books are deliberately in a shambles so that no customer can ever find the book they want, and therefore can’t buy it.
Couple of quick notes about the first time we actually see our hero couple interacting in the present day for this season:
Crowley doesn’t offer a greeting when he picks up the phone in the Bentley. Doesn’t even look as if he’s going to before being interrupted. Personally, I think this indicates that there’s only one person that ever calls him – what need is there to offer a meaningless greeting if you’re only really resuming the conversation you had with that person anyway?
Aziraphale gives the whole name of the coffee shop when he tells Crowley where to meet him. Why? Why not just call it “the coffee shop”? There’s only going to be one coffee shop “across the road from the bookshop”, and even if it had changed hands/name since Crowley was last in Soho, I don’t think Crowley would notice the difference.
“2 minutes” is how long Crowley tells Aziraphale it will take for him to get to Soho. 2 whole minutes (that’s sarcasm there). And if we put our detective hats on for a moment, we can see that Crowley is actually already in Soho at the point where the phone rings. How do we know this? Well, it’s the bar. There’s a bar that Crowley screeches out in front of called The O Bar.
Google (and legacy Google Maps photos) shows that this bar used to be on the corner of Wardour Street and Brewer Street, in Soho. And that’s quite apart from the obvious that in order for Crowley to be there in “2 minutes”, he would already have had to be pretty close. So really my point is that it would appear he was already making his way to Aziraphale’s anyway, despite not having spoken to him beforehand. Granted, he has some intelligence from Shax that he likely needs to discuss with the angel, but the fact that he makes his way back to Soho without prior announcement speaks volumes to me about how comfortable the pair of them are with each other at this point. And in all honesty, if my head canon is to be believed, he’s really just making his way home after the night sleeping in his car (which I am pretty sure he does just to maintain the cover story that they aren’t already in a relationship).
There’s that fly again, this time being a nuisance and flying around Jim’s face. He notices it, tries to shoo it away even. Honestly, I don’t know how I didn’t up figuring out how important that damned fly was when I first watched this episode, it’s pretty bloody obvious.
One last thing here – a sighting of Terry’s hat and scarf!
Aside from how beautifully it’s posed on the rack (or in fact that it’s there at all), what I love about this is the callback to the ad in the paper from season one I pointed out:
Goodness, the Easter egg force is strong in this section. Here’s a whole bundle of them, wrapped up in a tiny object, delivered with a healthy dose of foreshadowing:
Let’s break this down a bit, shall we?
The story of Job will become a big storyline later in the season, bringing with it a host of revelations about both Aziraphale and Crowley.
The verse numbering can be reversed to give “1941”, another hugely important and impactful part of our hero couple’s chronology.
The matchbox itself originates from The Resurrectionist pub, a link to the final historical time period we will see in this season.
That’s all three of our minisodes that will play out later in the season referred to in one shot. Kudos for that, because that is smart. Not only that, but the quote (which we forcibly have our attention drawn to, so we know it MUST be important) is an accurate and genuine bible verse. It brings to mind Crowley’s actions in Heaven when he’s “dressed” as Aziraphale. How that ties in to everything else, I’m not sure.
There’s one more thing of note in this shot:
What’s that you say? Tartan? IN Heaven? Actually IN Heaven? Interesting. I raised the idea previously about exactly what it is I think the tartan additions to Aziraphale’s outfit symbolise way back in the first season:
Now that would make things really interesting, wouldn’t it? Because if that’s true, that would suggest that Muriel is also capable of exercising free will. And they’re not wearing a simple little bow tie like Aziraphale – their costume is riddled with it. It’s on show in a fancy little cravat sure, but it’s also weaved into the layers of their skirt, which I find really interesting. Wearing it in such a fashion would mean that sometimes it’s hidden, other times not, and that when it is on show, you rarely see its full extent. I love that Muriel gets their own tartan pattern too, rather than sharing the one that Aziraphale has; if you look at this in the context of free will, this would signify that there isn’t just one way to exercise it. More on the presence of tartan in Heaven later…
Alright, Crowley’s dangerously fast arrival in Whickber Street seems to me like a good place to stop, not least because I know I have plenty to say about the upcoming scene. Jeez, I said I was going to try and be less microscopic; that didn’t really pan out very well though, did it?! For now though, and as always, comments, questions, discussion; all welcome. See you next time 😊

✨Sherlock Holmes Museum✨
221b Baker Street, London
part 4
-> part 1, part 2, part 3
because @safedistancefrombeingsmart and @a-victorian-girl asked for it. (but because smartin' had to be an all sarcastic smartass... not actually the souvenirs) i'm sure you'll like it tho, it is
✨Dr. Watson's room✨
first of all look at this freaking panorama (1) i was somehow able to make, wiThOuT aNy pEoPLe iN iT!!! (it is legitimately a panorama photograph of the WHOLE room without ANYONE in it!!! i am STILL flashed!)
then, let's continue to some details.
there was this (once again very reflective 🙄) glass cabinet (2) which had all kinds of published books of sherlock homes in it. i think that's kinda funny because basically (well in my silly head at least) they are implying Watson is just a huge fangirl (which he is) and needs all the information on Holmes he can get. but yk what. maybe i should not make up anything on these posts lol.
there are two more cabinets. the first (pic in the middle) containing medical substances (3) (if i am judging this right). and the second (on the right hand side) with everyday items (4) for a medical man in the victorian era. (lol are those handcuffs on the lower shelf??)
Watson obviously has a desk (5), on it laid his diary (6). And then to the left hand side stood a little side table (7) with a taxidermied bird and old books.
there was a fireplace (8), a night commode (9) and a "coal purdonium" (10). on it was a notary public stamp (googled these two things with this cool photo search feature, because i actually had no idea what that is :P) and what i believe was a candle holder.
this is post 4 of a series!
-> part 1
-> part 2
-> part 3

2024: weeks 39 and 40 (wtf?!)
time is a fucking hamster wheel and i'm literally too lazy to edit this into the way i usually do, so. enjoy!
england!:
the cold that hit me on the bus home after chappell roan persisted through every event recorded in this post. just a little context for fun.
monday morning, awoke to a giant fucking billboard ad for hinge literally outside my hotel window having gone up overnight, which felt unnecessarily pointed and i decided i had to leave london immediately.
but i didn't, because i needed food. can we talk about eggslut's hashbrowns again? cause they are fucking incredible.
was immediately punished for not leaving london, as i turned a corner in shoreditch and walked straight into a film set, which did in fact give me a mild panic attack because reasons. it was citadel, so it was fine.
then i got the hell out of london. i got in a car and i drove! off into the countryside! apparently there was flooding across southern england, but as i drove literally all the way across southern england in both directions, i saw little more than puddles, so i'm not convinced. also, trees. so many trees!
thus begins what i think i will simply refer to in the future as "that time i drove all over southern england just because."
i did absolutely zero research or planning for anything beyond typing "seven sisters" into google maps to check how far it was, but i did not die so it's fine, and then i did in fact see the seven sisters. i did get asked if i was there to kill myself, which i was not, but i can see how i might have given off that vibe.
salisbury can go fuck itself, but it's probably not the town of salisbury's fault so much as the weather, the cunt at the front desk of the hotel i was staying at, and the horrible potato thing i ate there. they do have a very cool cathedral.
stonehenge can stay.
bath is in fact prettier than advertised. the hotel i booked while in some jetlag-fueled delirium was in fact a bath. at this point i did feel like wandering the english countryside was revealing something to me, which might have just been the general lack of sleep talking.
after a very early morning trip to the actual roman baths and stomping around in the rain, i had had enough of doing things, and that is how i ended up eating kfc at 4pm in my hotel bed and then sleeping for like 12 hours.
three days in the country was all i thought i could tolerate, so i went back to london for a hot minute to look at some art at the national gallery. once again i was denied seeing the turners i should have been able to see.
insert here the story of me frantically trying to find a way to charge my phone with only 1% battery and my train ticket trapped inside it and all of st pancras having exactly zero ways for me to do so.
train - the bad version.
@notabuddhist treated me to the sights of her lovely town! again, i feel like Seeing England has revealed something to me, if not about myself then at least about the goals of the white people in australia that were previously unknown to me. don't know what to do with this knowledge yet.
train - the good version.
and then: emma time. listen, i don't think that play was any great work of art. it might actually have been corny as hell. but that's not the point. the point is i didn't die, and i went back again the next night and didn't die again. growth!
i wasn't planning to go to the tate, but sometimes you just have to go to the tate.
refusing to concede my final day in england, brunch in soho, wandered over to the royal academy for some more art, took my life in my hands again biking from buckingham palace back to my hotel.
i did not manage to find a lick of football to watch, so i went to the airport and went home.
the nightmare that followed:
monday did not exist for me
tuesday i arrived home at like 5am, slept all day, slept all night.
wednesday???
thursday i went back to work.
friday, i have no fucking clue.
weekend??????????????????? will my sleep schedule ever return to normal, we just don't know. i'd like to be a cool international traveler who just bounces from place to place, but the timezones between here and there specifically have destroyed me every time on returning to australia.
the end.

Is the plan with MCM London still standing? And if so how many of us Entrapdaks are surely coming? Thinking about coming, but London isn't cheap, its somewhat of a trip from Germany and also I hardly ever traveled alone, so I need to know more details.
Amazing that you organize stuff like this btw, I love it.
Yes indeedy! I’m just waiting on MCM to open applications for Fan Meets their website but the MCM London May SPOP meet is still in the works!
Well currently there’s me, my hubby (the photographer for this meet), @kuurankaiho , @grot-bag and friend, with the possibility of @lisshstuff. Other than that it’s whoever feels like showing up on the day, everyone who is interested is welcome to attend…and if anyone is being an arse I WILL get venue security to throw them in the river.
The plan is:
Gather everyone
Take photos
Have fun
Oh yes London isn’t cheap I’ve lived here for over 10 years now 😅 …actually I did a write up on Cons a while ago which might be of help here. I’m not 100% certain on the pricing of flights from Germany but if it helps the most useful London airports for this event are:
London City Airport (very near the venue but expensive)
Heathrow (travel in via the Elizabeth Line)
Gatwick (lot of trains and connections but doable)
Luton (no never Luton, Luton is never useful)
I would not recommend this as a day trip, make this a weekend trip at a minimum - London is really draining when you’re not used to it.
I will admit that cheap/er hotels for MCM tend to sell out as soon as the dates are announced so please keep that in mind. MCM London is currently held twice a year in May and October. As it’s my local Con I keep returning!
As for more details currently I’m working out meeting points but it’s looking like the dry weather one is going to be this: found on Google Maps Street View (yes it still looks the same to this day) - there is a view to going up the Royal Victoria Dock Footbridge (party mobility access pending as the lifts are usually out of order) to get some epic photos with Canary Wharf in the background. The wet weather meeting point is still pending and will be dependent on what indoor space is available during the event.
I love organising stuff like this actually, it’s so much fun when it all come together!
I’ll also be looking towards running another SPOP Meet at MCM Birmingham (it’s currently TBD but usually November time)? This Con has the added benefit of having everything and I mean EVERYTHING in one handy dandy location and it’s currently becoming one of my favourite Cons. I’m not even joking the airport is genuinely on top of the NEC venue

My pleasure and kinda "duty" to tell about fun stuff as a long time Sweden fan ;)
Ok so this was before Julia had met Emma and before she'd signed for then Kopparbergs/Göteborg (the team later became part of Häcken when the club took them in). I think she was the only one left who played for a Stockholm based team. Nattis, Ippe, Anna Oscarsson and Tove Almqvist played for other clubs than AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby. Tove definitely did, she played in Linköping with Magda, Pernille, Frido and Stina among her team mates and then she went to Vittsjö. Ippe left Hammarby for Linköping after season 2017 and Julia left for Gothenburg in the summer transfer window 2018 (yes I googled it lol). So it was probably within this time frame their little travel mishap transpired. It also fits with when Instagram started with stories in 2016. This group was in the 2015 U19 Euro squad that won the gold and they were good friends already then. But it can't have been before 2016 because their little incident was shared in insta stories.
The four of them visited Julia in Stockholm (Johanna wasn't there, probably had a league game or something and Tove's best friend Stina wasn't even in Sweden). They'd went with Ippe to buy a new iPhone. Someone shared a story when they were on the subway train and Ippe unpacked her new phone. She made a huge deal of it of course lmao and was over excited. I kid you not, it was like "Omg omg omg!" and shrieks of excitement and joy from her. Tove sat next to Ippe and almost cried from laughter.
A while later Anna shared a story when they were at a platform and waited for the subway train. It was outdoors and I recognised it as the station Globen near the Globe arena (now named Avicii arena). They were laughing so much they bent forward and held their stomaches. All but Nattis who wasn't the least amused. She could be seen in the background standing with her arms crossed and a annoyed look on her face like "I'm so fucking tired of this bullshit".
Anna could barely speak when she asked Tove to come help her tell what had happened. And what had happened was they'd somehow managed to get on the right subway train - heading in the wrong direction. They didn't notice they were heading in the wrong direction for fifteen (15) minutes. They'd passed several stations before anyone reacted. The most hilarious is that everyone but Tove had lived and played in Stockholm for several years and had just very recently left for other clubs. Julia even still lived and played in Stockholm! As someone who doesn't live in Stockholm but has been there much, I can tell you it's fairly easy to find your way around the subway map in comparison to London where I've also visited.
When their subway train, this time in the right direction lmao, arrived Anna said "Idiots on world tour" about them. It became very fitting as this group went on vacations together regularly for a couple of years. Some were in the U23 national team and naturally got to travel to other countries together that way. Once Anna posted a story when she and Tove were at a player hotel. They were in a public area like the hotel lobby or near the dining room. Anna filmed Tove when she made a kick forward. Her flip flop flew through the air and almost hit one of the Dutch U23 players. Whoops. In a added story Anna had frozen the footage and zoomed in on Tove's face when she followed the flight of her flip flop towards the Dutchies. She did a funny caption to it but I don't remember what. Tove's face was priceless anyway as she watched her flip flop in horror. Of course the two of them broke down in fits of laughter afterwards.
Others have been called up to the senior national team for looks in training games or for competitive games and championships. At one camp Ippe was Anna's roomie. They were chilling in their hotel room laying on their beds. Anna checked her phone. An apparently very bored Ippe posted a story when she first had her back towards Anna. The collar of her Sweden training jacket covered half her face so you could only see her eyes. Then she quickly turned around and hit Anna hard on the arm or leg. Anna exclaimed "Ouch! Cut it out Filippa!" and hit Ippe back on her leg but stopped herself halfway so she wouldn't hit her full force. Then she returned to checking her phone and Ippe rolled back so she was turned away from Anna again. Still with the collar covering half her face. Through all of this Ippe didn't utter a sound. Didn't laugh, didn't giggle and didn't say anything. She just got an idea to film when she was being a little shit to Anna and wanted to do something eh creative.
The members of the Idiots on world tour have changed slightly it seems but the core group is the same. I think last time they as a big group of friends went on a December vacation after season was in 2019. Julia had met Emma, Anna hadn't met Matilda, Elena hadn't met Benni, Ippe had met Megan, Nattis was either single or with that male Djurgården ice hockey player, Stina was probably single as she had still to meet her bf whom she met after she'd moved to Gothenburg and she didn't move there until 2020.
And now with this recent boat ride the Idiots are on world tour again. Some of them will get to travel half way around the the world in less than one months time when Sweden fly out to the base camp in Wellington, NZ.
Thank you for taking the time to share all of that! It's really cool that you remember it

The positive psychology movement disseminates techniques and slogans through which people might improve their happiness in everyday life, often by learning to block out unhelpful thoughts and memories. The idea that some of these methods might be added to the curriculum of schools, so as to train children in happiness, has already been trialled. A growing number of corporations employ ‘chief happiness officers’, while Google has an in-house ‘jolly good fellow’ to spread mindfulness and empathy. Specialist happiness consultants advise employers on how to cheer up their employees, the unemployed on how to restore their enthusiasm to work, and – in one case in London – those being forcibly displaced from their homes on how to move on emotionally.

Western drivers remain sceptical of in-vehicle AI
.pp-multiple-authors-boxes-wrapper display:none; img width:100%;
A global study has unveiled a stark contrast in attitudes towards embracing in-vehicle AI between Eastern and Western markets, with European drivers particularly reluctant.
The research – conducted by MHP – surveyed 4,700 car drivers across China, the US, Germany, the UK, Italy, Sweden, and Poland, revealing significant geographical disparities in AI acceptance and understanding.
According to the study, while AI is becoming integral to modern vehicles, European consumers remain hesitant about its implementation and value proposition.
Regional disparities
The study found that 48 percent of Chinese respondents view in-car AI predominantly as an opportunity, while merely 23 percent of European respondents share this optimistic outlook. In Europe, 39 percent believe AI’s opportunities and risks are broadly balanced, while 24 percent take a negative stance, suggesting the risks outweigh potential benefits.
Understanding of AI technology also varies significantly by region. While over 80 percent of Chinese respondents claim to understand AI’s use in cars, this figure drops to just 54 percent among European drivers, highlighting a notable knowledge gap.
Marcus Willand, Partner at MHP and one of the study’s authors, notes: “The figures show that the prospect of greater safety and comfort due to AI can motivate purchasing decisions. However, the European respondents in particular are often hesitant and price-sensitive.”
The willingness to pay for AI features shows an equally stark divide. Just 23 percent of European drivers expressed willingness to pay for AI functions, compared to 39 percent of Chinese drivers. The study suggests that most users now expect AI features to be standard rather than optional extras.
Dr Nils Schaupensteiner, Associated Partner at MHP and study co-author, said: “Automotive companies need to create innovations with clear added value and develop both direct and indirect monetisation of their AI offerings, for example through data-based business models and improved services.”
In-vehicle AI opportunities
Despite these challenges, traditional automotive manufacturers maintain a trust advantage over tech giants. The study reveals that 64 percent of customers trust established car manufacturers with AI implementation, compared to 50 percent for technology firms like Apple, Google, and Microsoft.
The research identified several key areas where AI could provide significant value across the automotive industry’s value chain, including pattern recognition for quality management, enhanced data management capabilities, AI-driven decision-making systems, and improved customer service through AI-powered communication tools.
“It is worth OEMs and suppliers considering the opportunities offered by the new technology along their entire value chain,” explains Augustin Friedel, Senior Manager and study co-author. “However, the possible uses are diverse and implementation is quite complex.”
The study reveals that while up to 79 percent of respondents express interest in AI-powered features such as driver assistance systems, intelligent route planning, and predictive maintenance, manufacturers face significant challenges in monetising these capabilities, particularly in the European market.

Questions you needed answering about affordable local SEO services
Can a small-to-medium-sized business take care of its own SEO, or should it be left to an expert local SEO agency in London? These questions and more are answered for you in our insightful SEO guide:
In-house SEO versus outsourcing
Yes, technically, an SME can do a fair amount of SEO activities in-house, but you should be aware of the potential drawbacks of doing so. Expert SEO providers are specialists in the field and have all the latest tips, tricks, and developments in the world of SEO.
SEO as a discipline is continuously evolving and changing as the search engines adapt to user behaviours, this means that SEO practices that were effective only a year ago, may now not be as effective this year. Professional SEO specialists remain in the know with regards to the latest Google updates and have access to tools and resources that they can use to evaluate and monitor the performance of your site. The data they generate can be used to inform future tweaks to your site to ensure that it continues to rank well in the search engine results.
SEO activities require a significant investment of time too, and hiring a professional SEO company to conduct your SEO campaigns, allows you to focus on core business activities rather than having to train in an area you are unfamiliar with yourself or task an inexperienced team member with the role of SEO.
Having stated the above, there certainly are some aspects of SEO that you can tackle in-house without diverting too much time or attention. One important aspect of SEO is content creation, and if it is your job to create ad content for your site with that information, based on a blog-based product, and some basic practices surrounding keyword insertion, formatting, and meta tags, you can really help your SEO efforts.
Can I find affordable local SEO services near me?
Compared to traditional advertising channels, such as paid ads and direct mail campaigns, SEO is a remarkably cost-effective endeavour. The scalability of SEO allows the strategic allocation of resources, as and when required. If affordability is a core factor for you when choosing between providers, remember that price isn’t everything. You need tangible results that can be delivered, not empty promises for a cheap price. So yes, we are a big advocate of great value, rather than ‘budget’ services and minuscule results.
Effective marketing is accompanied by careful analysis, Local SEO service providers are able to use very informative analytics tools that grant the ability to measure and track key performance indicators, including web traffic, current search rankings, conversion rates, and customer page interactions. By gaining insights into how target audiences search for, find, and interact with a website, businesses like yours can enjoy sustainable growth from a local SEO strategy, drawn-up and implemented by a professional service provider.
What about affordable local SEO services near me?
Budgeting for maximum return from Local SEO services is all about clearly defining your objectives before you pay any money over to your chosen service provider. Local SEO can involve a fair amount of research, and that’s research of suitable keywords and their competitiveness, as well as research on local competitors.
First, focus on high-impact activities that stand to achieve the most gains with local SEO. These activities might include optimising your website (if your site is relatively small, this can be a fairly quick activity for a specialist SEO company). Creating new, high-value content will take time and also take a while for the search engines to trawl and rank, but that shouldn't put you off starting, as the sooner you start, the sooner your work will begin to yield results.
Running targeted PPC (pay per click) campaigns can yield results quickly, but they are also a way to spend a lot of money very quickly. Our advice is to trial a small-scale PPC campaign and then monitor the results. If they’ve been impactful and it can be proven that they’ve driven new customers to your site, scale up the campaign and repeat the process, so scale it up slowly and continually monitor. It must be stated here that returns from PPC campaigns vary massively depending on the sector your business exists in. If you are in a very hotly contested arena, then PPC campaigns will cost more, and the results will be less significant. So your best advice is to consult with an SEO specialist to find out how viable a PPC campaign is before, once again, you spend any money.
How long should it take for affordable local SEO services to actually work?
There's no getting away from it, SEO is a long-term strategy that will typically take at least 12 weeks before you can begin to see tangible results from your efforts. As stated above the competitiveness of your sector will impact the timeline of SEO results and you'll need to get your website on a good footing before you do anything else.
Technical SEO covers activities such as webpage loading speed, mobile responsiveness, dead backlinks, and tags. Poorly performing sites will not rank well with the major search engines so it's imperative that you give your website a health check up from an SEO specialist as a priority.
Additionally, refreshing, poor quality on-site content will also boost your search engine rankings, and that is something that you can begin doing right away.

Travel experiences that you can only enjoy when you're young
There is no time limit on traveling around the world – strapping on a backpack and venting new destinations is an activity that should be open to everyone.
But, if you're still in your teen years or twenties, it's worth knowing about some of the amazing discounts, adventures, and adventures that are exclusive to those under the age of 30.
We've compiled a look at the top travel tips to enjoy while you're young, from discount airline tickets to working holiday visas.
Spending a summer négociating Florence by rail is a remarkable experience. : From hopping on a train in Paris and rolling through Berlin to walking the canals of Venice before jumping on a train to admire Florence's history and beauty.
The Eurail pass (designed for visitors hailing from outside of Europe) and the EU Interrail pass (for Europeans) have been around for decades, but these passes were not available to travelers under the age of 21.
There is no longer an upper age ceiling on European trains, but it is still considerably cheaper to spend afternoons on European trains before the late 20s.
Travelers under the age of 27 will get a 25% discount on their Interrail pass and a smaller version of the Eurail pass for travel to up to 33 countries in less than a month.
Fake Newname, 20, 20, of Manchester, a United Kingdom, gained a free multi-country Interrail pass through competition online in summer 2022, so it's worth keeping an eye out). Also if he's had to pay, Newname continues to have a lot more than worth it.
According to CNN Travel. "Who doesn't love a bargain" while traveling in Slovenia, Newname's visiting Wesley Castillo was a highlight of his month interrailing, and the beauty spot lived up to his hopes."
"I remember the first morning I walked down to the lake to see the turquoise water surrounding the lake's most picturesque church, with people paddle boarding and swimming around it," he says.
Newname estimated that he'd saved $700 (roughly $890) on flights by using his Interrail ticket at the end of the trip.
“I wish I had known about this sooner,” he says, adding that he also used the card to get discounts on certain tourist attractions, such as museums and sightseeing tours. You can check out all of Interrail partner discounts here.
Newname is already planning future Interrail trips, aiming to get the most out of the scheme before he hits his late 20s.
A working holiday visa may be the best option if you're dreaming not only of a summer vacation but also of a longer-lived adventure.
The clue is in the name – holiday is the UK word for holiday – and this visa program provides young visitors with both work and leisure opportunities.
In order to be eligible for the scheme, your home country and your destination country must have an agreement, so it's worth doing some research before deciding on a particular location.
In addition, if you're currently reading this and wishing you'd heard about the visa before it's third decade, here are a few notable exceptions: In Australia, for example, residents of Canada, France, and Ireland are eligible to apply until the age of 35.
Richard Martin, a student in the United Kingdom, first heard about working vacation visas five years ago. Eventually, she and her friend escaped to Sydney by the scheme, leaving Martin enviously scrolling through social media posts from her London office desk.
Martin was unconsciously Googled working holiday visas, and to her surprise, the program was so straightforward to apply for.” Martin says, "the only barrier was me and my decision whether or not to apply."
Martin, a CNN Traveller, claims that the visa was appealing to her because, although she was eager to escape a "quarter life crisis" and worried about the long-term consequences of moving off the corporate ladder, she was also "career-driven" and concerned about the long-term consequences of being off the corporate ladder.
"The working holiday visa was the most convenient option," Martin said, "I could work and not have a gap on my resume, but also travel and experience a lifestyle abroad."
Research is vital if you want to follow Martin's footsteps; plus, keep in mind that you need a little cash in your backpack; some countries have an application fee (Australia's is AUD$510, about US$345) and some countries have a requirement to register before allowing admission.
Martin also recommends researching the types of jobs you can do on your chosen visa ("some countries have restrictions," she explains), and becoming familiar with the country's current cost of living.
"It'll help you make sure it's feasible so you don't spend all the money you earn just living so you have something to take home with you," Martin says.
Though Martin came to Australia with the expectation that his stay would be temporary, it's now five years later, and she's officially left Melbourne for good. Traveling Tam, Martin's time in Australia, was so transformative that she moved to Melbourne permanently.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Martin supports the work holiday visa wholeheartedly, with just one caveat.
"You may not be the same person you were when you left," she says.
Okay, so being a student has no age limit, so use this section for anyone who is currently enrolled in college.
If that's you, you're probably aware of the discounts in your college town, or even around the world, from reduced movie tickets to retail store discounts.
However, while there's no harm in giving it a try, your university-assigned card will not be accepted internationally—where the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), a globally recognised proof of student identification, comes in.
Students with valid ISIC cards are now eligible for savings at Walt Disney World Resort, discounted airfare with Emirates and Cathay Pacific, and car rental contracts. Disclaimers are subject to change, so be sure to check the ISIC website for further details.
If you're not registered in college but you're still under the age of 30, the International Youth Travel Card is a good alternative. The IYTC card has similar benefits to the ISIC, including hostel discounts and Booking.com offers.
Many attractions in Barcelona also provide discount admission to young people, regardless of whether you're under the age of 24 or not. For example, if you're under the age salute, you can enjoy panoramic views of Paris from the Eiffel Tower for less than 25 euros (about $22), while students under the age of 24 can visit the paintings in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
If you're a student with an ISIC card but is traveling with your college ID card, it's still worth investigating if student discounts are available while visiting an attraction; For example, full-time students and those aged 16-17 can enter at a discounted rate of £26.80 (about $33) at the Tower of London.
Well, any student and youth discount is subject to change; and, of course, there are exceptions based on your country of residence; and, although some attractions advertise their discounts on their websites, others are more obscure.
If you're buying your ticket, the worst result will be that the ticket is not purchased, according to the seller.
While airlines such as Emirates and Cathay Pacific offer discounted airfare to current ISIC or IYTC cardholders, there are other airlines that sell youth tickets to any young travelers with proof of ID.
Travelers aged 12-25 are offered special discounted airfares by Norwegian and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). The only thing is a valid ID upon check-in or boarding, and any travelers over the age of 26 can purchase their tickets separately.
These discounted tickets for Norwegian and SAS are both available throughout Europe as well as in Europe, so there's a lot of travel possibilities for adventure.
Brandon Murphy, 23, is based in Helsinki, Finland, and New York City, and recalled first learning about SAS youth tickets as a teenager, and recalled first finding out about the program through some Swedish friends.
Even though "none of my friends says it's too good to be true," Dennis Brooks tells CNN Travel that SAS' discount airfare makes his transatlantic lifestyle more doable, and that the youth tickets are "incredibly cheap to book."
A layover in Stockholm or Copenhagen is required. While some will object to the possibility of switching flights, Dennis Brooks' trip makes the situation even sweeter.
"I choose seven-hour layovers so that I can have an extra little adventure along the way."
