Save me from you / but pave me the way to you

When a rumor sweeps Camelot of a dread dark knight terrorizing the north, Sir Aziraphale of the Table Round rolls his eyes and heads out after him. He finds out fairly quickly that it’s not Crowley, however, if the reports of abducted maidens and beheaded knights are anything to go by. Still, Crowley’s in the area, at least, based on the tales of a black knight with glowing devilish eyes haunting the local taverns and drinking whole towns out of mead.

The dread knight, when Aziraphale finds him, is much the typical thing: ring on a giant black shield with your weapon of choice, scare away a flock of birds, demand a battle of honor with the dark knight who rides out. One thing leads to another, as these things do, and Aziraphale winds up defeated and imprisoned in the knight’s dungeon. He’s in good company; Lancelot, Gawain, and Bors are all there, as well as a handful of other nameless knights. The jailers really are very kind; they acquiesce to bring provisions down to the dungeons, sometimes straight from the kitchens, and even if Aziraphale can’t get any wine, well, at least the bread’s fresh, and there’s usually a bit of meat. He even gets them to bring manuscripts down to him from the knight’s library - apparently, the man fancies himself a bit of a learned man - and Aziraphale copies the manuscripts out into duplicates and triplicates for the knight, out of the goodness of his heart. 1 Aziraphale doesn’t mind captivity so much, has always been rather good at working within the rules, inside the boundaries, like a sort of game. So it’s jolly enough, for a time, until the winter comes, and it gets dreadful cold and damp underground, and he really starts to miss the sun, and wonder exactly where the Black Knight is, because he’d been in this neck of the woods, certainly, a few months ago, back when Aziraphale had first been captured…

And then one evening - Aziraphale thinks it’s evening, there’s no windows down in the dungeons, despite his best angelic persuasions, smiles, eyelashes, and polite requests - there’s a great hubbub upstairs that can be heard even through the heavy floors of the castle, screams and roars and really awful thuds.

“We’re saved!” Lancelot says.

“We’re doomed,” Gawain says.

“You’re all worthless, the lot of you,” drawls a voice from behind Aziraphale, familiar and slippery, and Aziraphale says, turning with delight, “Crowley! I mean - er - the Black Knight! My eternal foe! What are you doing here in this most cursed of places!”

“Leave it,” Crowley says, waving a clinking hand. “They can’t hear you.” And indeed all the other knights are frozen in place; Crowley’s done his neat little time-trick again. “What the devil are you doing down in this dungeon?” Crowley says, striding to the door. He turns, impatiently, when Aziraphale doesn’t follow. Aziraphale looks meaningfully down at the chain clamped around his ankle, which secures him to the floor.2 Crowley’s nostrils flare, and he snaps his fingers. The chain clatters off, a rush of air to his bare skin almost painful with cold and damp.

“Oh,” Aziraphale says, “Thank-”

Crowley snaps his fingers, and they’re both above ground, on the main floor of the castle, in the main hall. The hall glitters with torches and candles, a great mass of light that hurts Aziraphale’s eyes, after all that dark, and he winces, his eyes watering, raising a hand to them to shield then. Another noise from Crowley, and a gesture Aziraphale feels more than sees, then Crowley says, “Should be good now.”

Ok I have a bone to pick re: the Bentley and speculation regarding The Jukebox. I keep seeing people say that “it’s the same magic that affects the Bentley”. Well, yes, I guess, but the book is clear that this is something that affects ALL vehicles- that’s the entire joke!

[A]ll tapes left in a car for more than about a fortnight metamorphose into Best of Queen albums.

“A car” - It’s not specific to the Bentley. It’s specific to the late 80s, because yes, everyone had a damn Best of Queen cassette in their car. The streets were strewn with the black detritus of unspooled popular music that couldn’t be fixed with a pencil.

The streets were paved with snow / and I saw your halo glow

Aziraphale and Crowley are perched up on what remains of the roof of St. Paul’s, sometime after the fire, which Crowley swears he had nothing to do with. Aziraphale believes him. They’re still working on reconstructing the church, so Crowley can sit on it - something about the fracture of a holy place, Crowley had explained. They’re sitting up there, wings around themselves for warmth, swapping a bottle back and forth, watching for a rather spectacular meteor shower Crowley says will be coming along, any minute now. Crowley’s got his arms wrapped around his knees, his cloak - and Aziraphale’s - spread below him for good measure - and he peers down at the street below like some sort of great devilish gargoyle. It’s snowing, thick and heavy, and the snow is catching in Crowley’s hair. Aziraphale wants to reach over and brush it out. Instead, he just takes another drink, looks sidelong at the demon. The snow’s melted around him on the roof in a great big ring, like a giant halo. Still, Crowley says nothing, makes no noise of complaint or pain, doesn’t shuffle around, and Aziraphale can’t help that age-old hope that bubbles up in him like a vernal spring, what if, what if -

He knows if he asks Crowley about his halo, he will clam up, will shuffle away from him, will, in all likelihood, come up with a reason to go to his own flat, and not speak to Aziraphale for another decade at least. And it’s really so nice here, cozy, even, with this bottle warming Aziraphale from the inside, soft wings wrapped around him for warmth, and Crowley silent beside him in the howling wind. And besides, it’s embarrassing, really, that it’s taken him this long to wonder about Crowley’s halo, about what it looks like now. He’s heard rumors, of course, of the halos broken when the angels had fallen, of the terrible damage done to them. But he’s never looked at Crowley’s. Halos are, after all, something intensely private, nothing less than an angel’s soul, the reflection of their grace in God, rather like the halo of matter around a star or black hole. 1 They are frequently beautiful, always revealing, and so most angels - and demons - keep theirs carefully hidden. Uriel keeps hers in the sun. Beelzebub keeps theirs under a neat little bowler hat. Crowley’s is typically curled up in his coils, and Aziraphale’s is hidden in layers of soft worn fabric.

But sometimes they peek out, and the way they’re sitting right now, Crowley leaning on his knees, looking out over the city below them, Aziraphale can just see where it would be, if he just pried and nudged a little, and so he leans forward on the other plane, just one harmless little peek, he thinks -

All of his eyes - and he opens them all up on the other plane, the better for to see him with, my dear - skitter towards where he knows Crowley’s halo is; he can feel the weight of it, the pull and then -

He’s made a mistake, he thinks, in the split-fraction of a second when his eyes find it and are dragged towards it heavily as if over broken glass, it’s broken all right, shattered, a horrific fracturing of space that writhes and aches and burns and shrieks, all alone in the darkness of space, and it’s Crowley, oh, Lord, no, and Aziraphale’s eyes begin to sear, all of them, the worst pain he’s ever felt, and he closes them as quickly as he can but he doesn’t get them all, not in time. He cries out, clapping his hands over them. He can hear them sizzling, can hear his own voice making these strange cries that sound so unlike himself, can hear Crowley crawling over the rooftop towards him, the clatter of loose tiles, can hear him hovering over him, saying “Angel, what is it, what’s wrong-”

I HAD A HUGEEEEEEEE PROGRESS IN 2023 AND I'M SO HAPPY BECAUSE OF THAT

like, i shifted 4 TIMES.

at the beggining of the year to my asgard dr (WHICH WAS CRAZY I WANT TO COME BACK THERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE)

during summer break to my twilight dr, but it wasn't long shift. i shifted only for month :(

in october i finally shifted to my fame dr

and in december to my marauders dr for WHOLE 2 YEARS

it's the craziest thing ever that could EVER happen to me :))

i'm so proud of myself, i created new drs, and started this blog!

2018's Binge mixtape was a rushed project he put out right after the beef just happened. The quality was bad, I remember most fans being pissed, almost as they are now with this floor 13 Edition.

The only good songs out of it were Loco and Lately and both anticipated heavy Hotel Diablo vibes. Between the mixtape and HD'19 there was a scrapped album, Delirium, his circle adviced him against.

This might be a good omens, maybe it's happening again and what's coming next is nearly as great as, if not more, as the original version of 🏨😈.

If his circle is honest again and he's willing to listen to them, if El Pistolero actually anticipates the vibes on the next joint, maybe we could have another masterpiece ahead of us.

Cause this Deluxe was not it, if feels like a money grab, just like Binge felt.

I think binge was something he always wanted to put out for a mixtape, but should have held off especially since expectations were so high. Eminem called him a mumble rapper and he put out a party mixtape right after, which didn't help him at all. And I think everyone knows he is not a mumble rapper and has some real talent, Binge just didn't showcase those talents accurately.

Now as for HD part two, I don't think he needed to re-release the album again, if anything he could have just re-released the merch (with some new designs) and el pistolero, I think that would have been fine. I think my problem with re-release is that it felt pushed. He most likely felt the need to do something for the five year anniversary, but the plan just didn't translate correctly and that's okay, maybe when he's ready and we get a new album, mixtape, or whatever, it'll feel new and fresh rather than an extension of his old projects.
