aimsey ducking all of axolotl team alone in a cave with literally half a heart

shelby shubble as the last member of her team online writing a letter to aimsey and sharing the world's most devastating ten minutes before her team was eliminated with one of the eye creatures (coco? i forgot lol)

(Letters in a box that was entrusted to Grumbot in another universe.)
Dear Mumbo:
He is killing me, and I am beginning to think he knows it, and doesn't care. It's far worse from when I thought he didn't know. I wanted to think of us as friends, you know.
With each passing day, I am growing weaker still. I know, I know, you argued it was my fault, but I don't think you understand. Even if I hadn't gone and played with the mushrooms, I think I'd still be dying. It's something Scar's doing to the land. I'm in the shopping district more than most people; I practically live here part-time, with how much I've been expanding the Barge. And even before the mycellium, I was getting sicker and sicker and sicker. Ever since he became mayor.
You used to agree with me, but I'm done arguing. I don't know what it's done to your head. I don't know what it's done to mine.
And he's killing me. With every bit of the network he poisons and rips out, he's killing me. I know he knows it, now. I know you won't believe me. I just wanted someone to know. I wanted someone to know he's destroying the thing I did to keep myself alive.
I really wish you'd become mayor. Maybe then we'd just be hanging out with Grumbot.
Grian, I switched sides. You know I switched sides. You know why. I don't know if you should be sending me letters like this. I could tell Scar. I could tell anyone. I could make you go home and rest and let someone actually check out the fact you say you're dying. They would make you go home. We'd be able to actually fix the shopping district, you'd be able to rest, and Scar would be able to focus on more important things. You are still friends, I'm sure, once we fix this.

You won't. You're still a good enough friend to keep my secrets at least. Thank you.

I love the idea of Cass enjoying dance. It's an outlet that allows her to express herself without words, and I think she would enjoy the highly technical aspect of ballet combined with its storytelling and emotional side. and as a former dancer I always have fun imagining my fav characters do ballet :)

i'm sorry i'm just thinking on days that jason and roy are particularly annoyed (in general or at each other) they would have a dick measuring contest of who can make tim come more and tim ends up very sore the next day every time
(the jayroytim post) ooooh i love this. i love putting Tim in Situations where he's just the stress relief caught between two arguing doms, it's like. my fave concept ever-
i like when it's an unspoken kink dynamic too. like, Jason and Roy start arguing again and Tim is already closing his laptop and taking his clothes off bc it's the only reliable way to get them to shut up, when they pass him back and forth until he's overstimulated and crying. sometimes, they just do it because Tim is overworking himself and won't put down the case he swears he's *so close* to cracking.
but taking it to the next level, seeing who can make Tim come the most is a turn Tim does *not* expect. i think it's fun if they spring it on him, maybe Jason and Roy had the argument when Tim wasn't around and come to the completely reasonable conclusion that this is the only way they can solve it. (neither of them are sure what they were actually originally arguing about when asked.) they text Tim and tell him to clear his schedule for the rest of the day and make sure he doesn't have patrol that night. and Tim is caught between wondering if he's about to get a great date night, or if he's about to clean up an absolutely shitshow they've caused. he is *not* prepared whatsoever. meanwhile, Roy and Jason are. bc there are logistics to work out. hydration, comfort, rerouting emergency calls to all three of them if the world starts to end.
i think it's fun if Jason and Roy set rules, bc they're both known to be cheats and they want clear definitions of what "counts" and how to make sure they're not just wrestling over Tim. of course they both try to cheat anyway. but the general set up is they pass him back and forth each time Tim comes, with breaks and other sorts of rules. if they're doing this, they're doing it right because they're both competitive bastards who leave no room for grey area.
Tim is ruined within the first hour. he's crying and begging and barely feels like a person. i think Roy and Jason are both mean, cocky sort of doms who pour a lot of dirty talk into all of their touches. i think Roy is the sort who will ignore his own pleasure to focus on Tim. sure, he wants to get off, but he's not focusing on himself and is fine if he ends up basically edging himself for an hour bc he wants to see if he can work his entire fist inside of Tim while Tim cries. Jason on the other hand, is more needy with his pleasure, to the point Roy will mock him about being more of a bottom than Tim is. i think it's fun if Jason likes to ride Tim bc Jason rlly likes to lose himself in his pleasure when he's torturing Tim. it's a maddening dichotomy for Tim to be stuck in-between, knowing that they're both going to torture him in different ways.
in the end, i think Roy wins. just because Roy is a bit older and has more canonical experience sleeping around, he's very smug about proving the point he's always made about being more *experienced* where it counts. Jason is certainly good in bed, but i'm always particular to the headcanon that Jason is very inexperienced and possibly even a virgin the first time he sleeps with Tim. bc rlly when would he have had the *chance* to have sex. (yes, ik about Talia but i either ignore that it breeze over it in fanfic bc i think it was poorly handled which sucks bc JayTalia has so much potential-) and Roy is smug about it for weeks, while Tim is in absolute fear (/lh) bc he knows sooner or later Roy's bragging is going to make Jason demand a rematch and Tim is just waiting for the next time they forcibly clear his schedule.

Can you explain more what you mean about Ridley Scott having old man gaze? I'm really curious lol
Back in the day... Ridley's day too, -Most mainstream big movies had that dynamic. Some leading white guy who was older than his love interest. This was that white male director's gaze. So it was standard. We didn't see it as fanfiction back then... But once it clicks into place.... The guy was a good 10 - 20 years older than his female love interest. Ridley Scott is 86 years old. 86. He is still directing the same kinds of movies with the same gaze as he did in the 80's. It's not about historical accuracy. It's about defending that gaze and that "tradition".
It's in the same realm of debate as "when will real cinema come back", a subject that is always brought up by or centered around old white male auteurs.
They act like it's about being tired of one subject dominating genre (IP and especially comic book films) but really, it's more about the increased inclusion, in both the players and the gaze steering the proceedings and audiences enjoying it. So, when Ridley is cussing about his disregard of accuracy, he's really being defensive of his gaze being so much less taken at face value, without basic interrogatives about it, these days. He's an old man yelling at a cloud. And having what used to be baseline normalcy in American film; instead inspiring knowing chuckles and eye-rolls, because of course, you cast the boring old standard of a too-old J. Phoenix and too-young V. Kirby, even when the reality (Jo was actually six years older than Napoleon) would have made that dynamic in your movie much more interesting... But upholding old cliches as "real cinema' regardless of the actual quality/watchability of the film matters more to him.

i. ivixor b / phase inducer - electric wizard : I chose an instrumental as the first song in this mix and this specific song because it emulates the feeling of traversing a desert wasteland, similar to the astronauts' odyssey heading toward the Company during the first part of the book. There are radio signals and warbbing-like sounds along with unintelligible speech in the background that remind me of the original Star Trek where there'd be random 'scifi' noises.
ii. white stork - bossk : Another instrumental track. While Ivixor B / Phase Inducer felt more passive to me, almost a song that would assist setting the vibe of the story's landscape, White Stork for me is the song of desert's active mystery and signs of hostility. It hasn't asserted itself yet, but there's a kind of danger lurking as the story progresses.
iii. ekpyrotic - the otolith : I consider this song to be the theme of all the living beings in either opposition to the Company or those separate from the dichotomy of friend and foe. The foxes are the first that came to mind when listening to this song. The subject of the song is the interconnectedness of all living beings and rebirth, along with the inherent power of being one's true self that cannot be contained. [Lyrics]
iv. the screen - yob : This song represents confrontation, violence between the astronauts and their other selves, the dark bird, the behemoth. An ancient battle forever taking place. It also makes me think of the horror Charlie X experienced during his time with the Company. It's his pain, the pain he inflicts, his need to please what he and the Company demand of him. There's almost this ancient rite he performs when constructing his creations. And of course, the violence done upon the foxes by man. [Lyrics]
v. the shooting star - gojira : This is thee theme for the astronauts - Grayson, Moss, and Chen -, the song that represents not only their mission or their struggles as they fight to succeed, but also their connection with one another. I think of the last four bars of the song: everlasting-love is ever-growing / hang on to what you have and let it grow / everlasting-love is ever-dying / it's in the past, you have to let it go. [Lyrics]
vi. souvlaki space station - slowdive : This song brings more of the dreamy, abstract imagery that I experienced when reading the book. it reflects more of the subdued moments in the story. There's a refusal in the song to confront someone. It feels like the disconnection between the astronauts and Charlie X. [Lyrics]
vii. moon in your mouth - goldfrapp : The astronauts love each other. Moss cares so much for Chen, Chen cares so much for Moss, Grayson cares so much for Moss and Chen, and they for her. I wanted to celebrate that while also moving away from the confrontational sounds and lyrics of the earlier tracks. Because of the lighter note, you can think of this song as something from the very beginning of their mission, before trials, before the violence really took hold. Maybe even when they still had Charlie X. [Lyrics]
viii. ptolemaea - ethel cain : We're back at the Company and Charlie X surviving his father. That's really what this is, it's the section of the book where we really learn what Charlie X has done and what has been done to him by his father, by the Company: you poor thing / sweet mourning lamb / there's nothing you can do / it's already been done. The one of the scariest parts of the story. [Lyrics]
ix. evaporate - a.a. williams : It's the general sense of despair. The despair in moments of fear, violence, pain. Uncertainty really. Might seem like a throwaway because I don't have that much to say about it, but I know it feels Right to include. A lot of characters harm themselves, either by their own hand or they put themselves in harm's way. [Lyrics]
x. feather - windhand : We're returning to sounds that remind me of the wasteland again. Could be viewed as despair but I see it as acceptance of what must be done. There's something about it that reminds me most of the blue fox. The sense of knowing that is to come, what has come. [Lyrics]
xi. fight like gods - chelsea wolfe : The closest songs I can find right now that reminds me of the foxes, but the blue fox specifically. The violence upon them frightening like the violence upon Charlie X - moreso even. Turned to retribution, to revolution, to revenge. Oh did they fight like gods. [Lyrics]
xii. marked for death - emma ruth rundle : Another love song, in all the ways to define love. For Moss and Chen. For Moss and Grayson. For Charlie X and the dark bird. For the blue fox and the foxes, the blue fox and perhaps the Strange Bird; for the Strange Bird and... Who will be there when you are dying, when you are dead, when you are going to die. [Lyrics]
xiii. drag me into the woods - holy fawn : I am reminded most of the transformations and changes and alterations the characters go through. Less of a violence and more of the enviably of it? The awareness of it. The changes that happen not so much out of violence but from a place of love or the natural order of things. [Lyrics]
xiv. the things they believe - loathe, john waug : The instrumentals have returned. Some loose ends aren't so loose anymore. Some things make some sense. It's that dreamy landscape again. The dust settling in its own way. A respite from what we've been through.
xv. and, we disappear - alaskan tapes : "We will always be there. Even before we know you. Even after we've known you. Even then. And, finally, she was free."

i feel like it's impossible to watch andy in alien romulus without the 'black character dies first' trope in mind. from the get-go, he's an android whose stated main function is in service of the main protagonist. he's treated as a second-class citizen by the government and harrassed because of this status. the only reason he's brought onto the mission is because his programming grants the other characters access to the ship. everything, everything about him screams "support character who will die once they've served their purpose". and then it's revealed that raine intends to leave him behind once she gets out of the mining colony. he is definied, clearly, as expendable. and when he gets his new chip, he saves everyone - he performs and even greater service - and then he has to start making hard decisions for the crew's survival, and they treat him like a heartless monster. as soon as he stops being in service of them, they turn on him. and he doesn't even do anything evil - every "heartless" decision he makes is one where the whole crew is about to be killed, and so he elects to save some of them and leave those he can't. his curse is making the rational decision in a horror movie and being demonised for it.

Neither girth nor length are the source of sexual pleasure. Communication and honesty are the keys.
Everyone’s - let say Orgasmic Lock, has a different combination. But while someone might natural be a good “key” for someone, with a little effort we all have a fully functional set of lock picks.
Using those means a little practice and fiddling, and being open to communication and understanding that sometimes the process can be messy and embarrassing.
Now, that out of the way, I think Kid does, but Killer’s a close second. Wire and Heat are a little more slender, but also longer - especially Wire who is just so fucking tall.

Ever since I talked about a universal language, or at least about common languages used in the interplanetary (though given we have examples from the Andromeda system, it could also be intergalactic) community, I have been contemplating number systems. Not exactly a universal one no, but certainly what the counting systems of some of the smarter species of Ben 10.
And who else none other than the cerebrocrustaceans that I have been headcanoning so much about for the privilege!
I remember watching a video about creating a number system (part of a series about making a conlang because :P) and at the time I had misremembered what the 'best' number system was and thought 'well what if the one thing cerebrocrustaceans and galvans agree on (rivalry or not) is their numbers'. Turns out, it's a hot fucking debate in the numbers community between base 6 (senary/seximal) and base 12 (duodecimal/dozenal), and the video made a compromise for base 16 (hexadecimal).
So instead of like... going based on that, I went with the next step; fingers!
Except... cerebrocrustaceans have uh... less fingers than humans (or even galvans). Sure, maybe if their number system is so low it can actually contribute into a literal billion digit IQ using the power of a base 2 (binary, of course) number system, using the 'on/off' of an open and closed claw to count but- 2 claws, 2 hands, that only counts up to 4. So I thought 'okay, what else would they use to count?' and looked at their teeth, counting from there; it didn't end up working, the tooth count was inconsistent between screenshots even though Brainstorm specifically held the same expression.
Then one day, in the middle of the night, as I was trying to figure out how to count with the babylonian number system (count to 12 on one hand counting the joints of your 4 fingers with your thumb, hold up a finger on the other to signify how many twelves you've counted up to 60);

What if I just give cerebrocrustaceans and extra joint on their claws (which technically they do have based on animation but it isn't shown because animation-friendly) and have they count the fronts and backs of their claw per claw (though I didn't understand the babylonian counting system previous since I kinda combined it with binary which I did know how to count).

Including 0 (which would be an open claw in the same way a closed fist for a human is 0) the cerebrocrustacean number system using this diagram ends up being a base 9 (nonary) system, an odd-numbered system that I am not going to get into because I am only using hands as our counting origin. While functionally in decimal (because I practiced counting this way to stress test the system) you can count from 1-80 (each section on the tens claw corresponding to a multiple of 9 ending at 72), but with the fact that you can count up to 8 in each claw in a nonary system, it's actually counting up to the equivalent of 99 with only hands alone. Considering that the limitations of claws is that there isn't a vast landscape to count with, cerebrocrustaceans make do by counting each section of a claw twice, once from it's inner side and another on it's outer side going from, using the tip to count by touching the corresponding number.
The order from 1-8 is counted first in the (typically) right claw by the pollex (the inner claw) on the inner edge of the pincer (the outer claw) from bottom to top. Then the pincer bends to allow for the pollex to reach the outer edge, tapping the top claw then the bottom claw. Then the pincer follows the same steps to the pollex, counting from inside bottom to top, then outside top to bottom. The pincer has a little more reach being the larger of the two claws, but the pollex folds more because it has more mobility.
As a nonary system, there is no 9 and instead the 'nine' in this instance is 10, which is counted in the same order as 1-8 but done in the (typically) left claw, mimicking binary in how it accents the units of the right claw by adding an additional ten relevant to the corresponding claw.

Admittedly I had no rhyme or reason to display these claws in the order that they're in, but if cerebrocrustacean number systems are written in the same way it's counted then technically inside out, right to left, would probably be a pretty cool and also pretty hostile way to convey numbers (hah, reference to heavy out-grouping biases).
The main goal of the claw positions is to make at least an easily distinguishable set of numbers that don't blur (too much) between each other if you kinda look at it from silhouette alone. Not sure how successful I was but it isn't the actual numbers in written form themselves, so it's a different ball-park and more of a visualisation of the dexterity used to count.

And now- gotteem!
A funny thing about making a counting system and like, actually practicing how it feels and how to actually count, is that you sometimes stumble into comedy gold and get a 69 on the decimal 69 (if you twist your hands around to mimic it at least) plus just hitting you with an almost perfect 👌👌just made me want to actually visualise this. Well... I was gonna visualise it anyway since it helps to provide an example on how cerebrocrustacean's count with claws but like- yeagh I don't care that odd-numbered bases are not optimal I'm keeping the nonary system for this joke alone (not actually but it's a bonus)!
Anyway- don't ask me how they do math and have a good time counting to 76!
