You promised yourself you would always smile  while wearing your mask. For this reason your mask was showing the bottom of your face. It was your own project and it had a special place in your heart. You wanted to show people that nitatter what you are doing, and who you fight with, you will always smile, just be happy that you can protect innocent people. Another reason why you projected your mask like that, was the fact that you have fangs. It's not like you use them often, but they can be really helpful. One little bite, and can paralysis villains for a while. S.H.I.E.L.D knew about your existence, and wanted you to join avengers. They even send to you the one and only Tony Stark with Nick Fury. You decided to wait. It was your last month of school, and you had a girlfriend you didn’t want to leave alone.

You graduated with not so bad grades, and you passed all your exams with almost the best scores in your class. You hoped your girlfriend would be with you, but she texted you at the last minute that she needed to take care of her sick mother. You believed her. How could you not? She was almost the most important person in your life. So in the evening you decided to visit her, her mother knew you really well, and was happy her daughter had someone like you. Well, she didn’t know you were a couple, she was a typical homophobic christian, just like most people in your country. 

Only thing in her room you could see was how deep she was in kissing a guy. She didn’t even notice you opened the door to her room. Looking in her cold eyes made your stomach flip. You don't even know how... no, when this happened. You don't know when she met him, when he started being the reason she's smiling everyday, when she stopped caring about you. Only thing you can look at are her sky blue eyes you loved looking at. You were always finding your safe space in her, now the only thing you see in her eyes is how much she is disgusted in you. Her words were something you were expecting. You weren't enough. He is a man, of course she would want to be with him, how could she love a girl? You were just stupid thinking he was just her friend.You tried so much to not end up like before. But everything is always the same. You are trying your best, but they are always choosing someone else, someone who isn't so complicated, someone who is.. pure. The most important, they always will choose someone who will fuck with them after a week of dating. They don't understand why you care about romantic things, when you could just let them fuck you. They are animals chasing their own pleasure, don't giving fuck about true love. 

It was the first time when you put on your mask and did wear your bright smile. 

There was no reason for you to stay. Your friend moved out a long time ago, and for you, your online friends were enough. Your parents were dead. At least for you. Just like you were dead for them. They didn’t want a Lesbian daughter, and you hated them for all the traumas they gave you. You half lived on the street. Most of the time you were spending in school or saving your country. You showed up in your home only if you needed to take a shower or books for school. 

“What are you thinking about kiddo?” Tony asked, putting hand on your back.

“You know, just how my girlfriend cheated on me few hours ago, and now Im part of fucking Avengers” You didn’t even looked at him. You only look at changing numbers signaling that you were higher every second. 

After running away from your girlfriend's house, you called Tony. Only thing  you wanted was to leave as far away and as fast as you could. Break ups were always hard for you. You just wanted to feel loved, feel important for someone. Looking at the sunset on top of one of the buildings was your way to say goodbye to the country you truly love. You promised yourself, you will start a new and better life. No thinking about the past. You need to let it go, and life looking at the future. You knew it would be hard, but you also knew you needed to do this. There's too many open wounds, just because you couldn’t let go thinking about the past every night. 

Pretending to smile while meeting everyone was the hardest part. Pretending to be happy while in the back of your mind the only thing you could think of was your exs, and how you couldn’t be enough for them. Tony left you just when you walked out of the elevator. Steve introduced himself and his friend Bucky. You gave them a polite smile and mumbled your name. You just wanted to go to your room and sleep the rest of the day. Next people that introduced themselves were Clint, Bruce and Sam. Last person was Natasha Romanoff. You learned from her that her wife Wanda is on the mission with Thor. 

“I hear slavic accent.”

“Oh, yeah…  I'm Polish.”

“Tony was one hundred percent sure you're from Russia.” You hate when people mistake you for Russian. It's not even like your languages sound super alike. 

“Chuj.” You said to yourself. “Uhm, nevermind.”You looked at the floor when she looked at you. Natasha just laughed it off and you smiled.

“I'm guessing you don’t know where your room is?” When your eyes met her forest green ones, you felt like you couldn’t look away, but you needed to. You didn't want her to take you for a freak. 

“Yeah… Stark just left me here, and didn’t show me anything.” You rolled your eyes.

“Come with me. Tony decides that you will take Wanda's old room. We have lived together for the past few years, so her room stood empty. It's next to ours.” She said pointing at one of the doors. “So if you need something you can always knock.”

“So… It was nice to meet the famous black widow.” You opened the door to your room.

im not sure this is me asking for advice because i don’t think there’s really a recipe for getting over someone but i just need to rant into the void

so there’s this girl. let’s call her lucy. we went to the same high school but never really met. she was a year older and one of those “popular” girls i guess, so we never really crossed paths, but we knew about each other. she was one of those girls who made the room brighter just by being in it. like calling her gorgeous is an understatement. and she was always super kind to everyone. like all the boys in school had a crush on her at some point.

so fast forward a bit, first year of uni. i moved into a big city and enrolled into the same university as lucy’s best friend. let’s call her cathy (lucy lives in a different city about 4 hours from us). cathy and i quickly become really close and of course she starts mentioning lucy a lot. she also talks about me to lucy. cathy starts telling me how we should definitely hang out, how we have so much in common and how lucy would love to get to know me (we both loved taylor swift read the same books etc) but as we lived in different cities it was kinda hard to arrange. quickly we developed this kind of weird parasocial relationship through cathy. like lucy would tell cathy to ask my opinion on something, she would send cathy voicemails to forward to me when she wanted to discuss something, she also invited me to a harry styles concert but i was busy so i couldn’t go and so on. i should maybe point out that she didn’t really use social media so that’s why she didn’t dm me or something.

at one point i discover that lucy is a lesbian. cathy never really mentions it but it becomes quite obvious from some stories. and at this point, i kinda start crushing really hard. my little lesbian heart is only so strong and here’s this drop dead gorgeous girl who is so amazing and we have so much in common and god what is a girl to do.

i learn that lucy has a girlfriend and get kinda sad but can’t really complain so i try to get over my little crush and move on. however, one day lucy deletes all pictures with her gf from instagram she briefly had. a few weeks later she messages me and tells me she wants to visit me and cathy, and that there’s this big 1989 tv release party in the city i live in and she would love for us to go together. i’m of course smiling into my pillow.

so she comes in october for the party. this is our first time officially hanging out. and god, we have the best night ever. nothing explicitly romantic happens, but we just have so much fun. we go out for drinks and talk and then we go to this party and dance and drink and have the time of our life. and at this point i’m really thinking about this as a date, because we’re both queer and she hugs me and holds my hand and we actually cuddle in front of the club. and then. it’s really late and we’re both kinda drunk and want to go home so she calls her ex (?) to pick us up. i agree as i’m pretty tired but i’m also so confused as i have no idea what’s going on here. anyways, the night ends and we have brunch tomorrow and talk about how we had a great night, but don’t mention anything else.

long story short, she gets back together with her girlfriend and kinda stops contacting me as frequently, but half a year later, i’m still hung up on a girl i literally spent 24 hours with. and sure, i’m interested in other girls, have other crushes i guess, but somehow my mind always comes back to her. the reason i’m writing this today is because i haven’t listend to taylor in a while, but ttpd came out and suddenly i hear her in every song and she still told cathy to ask me my favourite song as soon as it came out. and she still talks about wanting to visit me and god i want to just move on so bad. but i know i’m gonna text her as soon as another party comes up when we’re both free. and it’s just gonna be the same thing over again.

I know it is so easy to get hung up on someone like this- there's like...such a fun aspect of a romance like this where it's drawn-out and a bit forbidden and kind of dramatic. But the problem with something like this is it hardly ever ends well and you deserve someone who wants you wholly.

Of course, this is all easy for me to say, as I'm not the one to experience it. But I think if I were you, I would take this album release as an opportunity to think about what you deserve and how you can use the songs to process your feelings. my last situationship was yet another instance of being betrayed by a pink haired girl who said she cared about me and then abandoned me so if anyone needs me ill be bashing my head in with a rock

so the last relationship/situationship (i'm reluctant to call it an actual relationship because both of the other people involved insist that we were never actually together and we never put a label on anything, which is...sort of true) happened between march and july of this year.

i had gotten back into a book series that i really enjoyed when i was in high school and started writing fic for it. one of my mutuals on twitter who i'd been friends with for a long time was also a fan of this series and we started talking a lot, both about fic and just about our lives. eventually i realized i had feelings for him and told him, and he said that he had an irl girlfriend but he was polyamorous and felt the potential for something with me involved.

i ended up meeting a bunch of his friends (who are all wonderful people and we still hang out and talk over discord) and his gf. thinking back i don't think she liked me from the start, but i really wanted this whole situation to work so i overlooked a lot of the red flags. i started to like her too, and eventually all three of us would talk regularly about our days at work and school (as i was still in classes at the time), about writing, about their d&d campaign and the theater stuff i was doing, just about anything.

we started flirting shortly afterward, but neither of them would flirt with me where anyone else would see or hear it. i was kind of the friend group's best kept secret. and i was so desperate for someone who wanted me that i was willing to put up with that, with the two of them getting to be together and open and proud, while i stayed silent whenever the two of them would flirt in public.

i didn't want to be left out--it was by no means a choice. it was actually the thing that made me relapse in both my eating disorder and self harm for the first time in three years. literally, every day i would be an afterthought to them and my only response was "how can i change so they want me? how can i be better?"

eventually we started sexting and being more intimate (idk that feels like a weird way to talk about just sending nudes and getting off over the phone) and at first, it felt really good. at first, it felt like both of them really liked me, and wanted me, including for sexual reasons but not only for my body, and that made me kind of brush over the issues with it.

at the same time, they still refused to publically acknowledge that i played any part in any kind of relationship with them. at best it was frustrating and lonely, and at worst i felt used and betrayed. it honestly felt like they only kept me around for when they wanted to flirt or get off with someone else, and i wasn't afforded any of the other aspects of a relationship at all, even while they both told me that there was a chance for all three of us to be together.

shit hit the fan when i went to visit them at the end of june. i got back from university in the middle of the month, was home for about a week, and then flew to visit them, and things were weird right off the bat. gf seemed weirdly and suddenly distant toward me even though things had been completely normal up until i got off the plane, and this continued for the next four to five days of me being there. my mutual was really caring towards both of us, and tried to include me in a lot of stuff, but i think i went literally all of those six nights falling off of our shared mattress while the two of them cuddled. i remember three distinct nights where i had full-blown panic attacks and neither of them noticed (or if they did notice they didn't do anything or acknowledge it at all.)

at one point we stayed over at a friend's house for a d&d session and in the morning we planned to go to a pride parade in a bigger city nearby. during this sleepover a lot of us were drinking and even though i had been trying not to drink as much, i ended up getting wasted and breaking down over gf not liking me and treating me like i wasn't there for the entire trip up to that point.

my mutual reassured me and told me that she didn't hate me, her behavior was just because she has bpd and she cant control it. which was a shitty excuse and one that i didn't really buy. it was literally the only reasoning either of them offered for the way that i was treated and i hated knowing that they were lying to me (even if it wasn't on purpose) about why things were so weird.

that night i ended up sleeping on the couch, alone, and neither of them bothered to ask if i wanted to go to bed upstairs with them. neither of them even really talked to me after having that conversation mentioned above. i ended up drinking enough to black out and when i woke up i was still on the couch, still alone, and still had a jug of malibu in front of me, so i was like "fuck it" and got drunk again at 8 in the morning before the pride event. this was also the day that i started using harder drugs again.

not a single person in our friend group noticed i was high. all of them knew about my history with drugs, and not a single one of them figured out i was on something that wasn't alcohol. for the entire day. I'm pretty sure they still don't know.

the pride parade was in a pretty big city and the group mostly tried to stick together, but mutual and gf ended up separating from the group pretty quickly and often left me specifically behind with no warning. they wouldn't answer their phones when i texted or called and eventually i resigned myself to hanging out with our other friends, which was actually pretty fun (and i was off my ass, which made everything better tbh.) when the event ended, we spent around three hours looking for mutual's car because none of us could remember where we had parked. he ended up having a panic attack and gf stayed behind to calm him down while me and our other two friends who had ridden together walked around ten blocks (in total space-wise) trying to find his car. eventually we found it and went back to our friend's place where we had been staying.

we kind of got into a fight at that point because they asked if i was okay with doing something else with the group and i told them that i didn't really care, and it wasn't like i or my opinion was important to them, if the way they had been treating me was any indication. this led to a very roundabout discussion that threw around a lot of buzzwords and shit about bpd, and "boundaries," and "we never put a label on anything," etc. basically all bullshit.

gf proceeds to tell me that she was actually never into me, and only acted like she was because she thought it would make mutual happy. mutual says that he does still have feelings for me but his gf is his first priority and he's not willing to split his attention between both of us if the two of us arent also together. so basically i get broken up with by two different people for two different reasons at the same time. while i am over 2000 miles away from home and they are the only people i know anywhere close to there. they both insist we can stay friends and all that and im like sure, okay, whatever, we're all good. and we have stayed friends. we arent as close as we were before, but we still talk and text and send memes and shit.

the fucked up bit is that ive started to doubt things about myself because they're similar to things about gf. both of us have bpd (hers was treated carefully while mine was dismissed) we have a lot of the same interests, kin a lot of the same characters, etc. i catch myself wondering what made her lovable and me disposable. honestly it might have something to do with the fact that im visibly trans and she's not, even though all three of us identify under some kind of non-cis label. i feel like i can't dye my hair now, even though I've been planning to do it for months, because it would just be another thing that im "copying" about her.

tldr i am never trusting someone who says they have feelings for me again, and i am REALLY not trusting people who are poly and already partnered when they say that they like me. this three month situationship genuinely fucked up my perception of love and what is okay in relationships so much and i am still trying to pick up the pieces .

feels sad to say this and reflect on it during my 7 hr bus ride home today but i just dont feel like i had a good quality time with my friend quinn this weekend.. it was a short visit for sure so i wish we couldve spent more time together but also i got on the bus this morning feeling completely fine that i didnt have to stay any longer. which makes me feel so shitty but its like.. my friend is going through a breakup and basically has been for months now since june im pretty sure which for me personally its like my friendship kryptonite. when a friend is having relationship trouble of any kind i have no idea how to be a supportive friend because unfortunately yes i am the "break up with them" friend. and right now all i think he should do is ACTUALLY separate himself from her and set some fucking boundaries and not talk to her for a long time, instead of what he did over the weekend which is go to a party he knew she would be at because theyre still friends with all the same people and then also basically ditch me in the middle of rhe party to be with her all night when he knew i didnt know anybody but him and the host. sooo yeah idk that kinda sucked. the thing is too ive been friends with him for 5 years now and ive like hardly interacted with the girlfriend shes nice enough but i dont know anything about her just that she seems to also be going through some shit right now which is why i think they broke up (and should stay broken up!!!). but before rhe party on saturday quinn was like "is it gonna be weird for you to see my ex at this party?" and i almost laughed because like. why the fuck would i care gjdkdh do you hear yourself?? no the only weird part was you acting like i wasnt there after 2 hours. luckily im so charming and easy to talk to and managed to meet some of his friends hes been telling me about for years (and yet hardly bothered to introduce me to anyone) and it wasnt the best night but it wasnt horrible either. and i feel for him i do but at the same time we have completely different personalities when it comes to this shit bc when i am done with someone not even romantically but like friendships too i am capital D done, i dont want them back in my life and i want my space from them so i can actually think about what happened and move on. instead he got so drunk i had to drive us home when ive never driven a car in chicago before and he was just being maudlin about the fact that him and his ex werent leaving together. and then he asked me 800 times if i had a good time at the party and every time i lied and said yes but what the fuck else am i gonna say, that im too old and have always been too lame for parties with loud music and weed and more than 6 people in attendance? i want to help my friend i can tell hes really not in a great place right now but i also dont think he wants to be helped he just wants his fucking girlfriend back and he cannot see that that will do him no good now or in the long run. fucking christ i dont know. rocky horror was fun. the queers there all loved my orville peck costume so that was nice. and i was one of three winners of the costume contest and as a prize they gave me a button that says GIRL DICK 🤠👍
