Hello me with brain worms again (Tim version this time)! this is gonna sound insane so just hear me out right. per usual this can be whatever ship you want idgaf.

so tim is a singer who is in a situationship with whoever you prefer. he loves them, but feels like they only see him as a warm body yk. he writes ceilings by Lizzy McAlpine and preforms it at a concert that he knows his fwb will be at and then the fwb is like,,, “holy shit is this abt me??? no way he def doesn’t like me like that”(to add angst i like to think they have a no kissing rule in place bc it makes sense w/ the lyrics). some time passes but now the fwb is stuck on the song and is now like “shit maybe i like tim but there’s no way he likes me too” but then tim drops a double feature of once more to see you by mitski and you’re all i want by cigarettes after sex and maybe those songs include definite references to their relationship(you can also pick which lines are specific to them). so they are like “holy shit!! no way!!! i gotta go kiss this man rn!” but then when they see tim after the show and tim thinks that they are only kissing him to like appease him and not because they actually want to. and then a bunch of miscommunication and angst ensues. and yeah,, idk where it would go from there but i think it’d be very angst but eventually they do end up together and tim now gets to write cute and happy love songs.

this only even popped in my head bc those three songs randomly played one after the other on my playlist while i was reading tim angst so,,, yeah

Lady Death - Although retributionist, necromancer or medium are def a more fitting role lore wise, as those are the only few roles to deal with the dead, I honestly think she gives of Jailor vibes- She totally seems like the kinda gal who’d show up and start questioning you in the middle of the night- Jailors are typically the calmest of the bunch too, so like. yea

Guardian Angel - Well. That choice is obvious….. Guardian Angel! But if it weren't for the fact that GA is literally a role, probably Liberator. Given their whole “protecting the banlands and their family from hackers” thing, I can totally see them as the very role that goes out at night with a sword to protect the town.

Fluffball - Hm. Toughie. Possibblllyyy…. Distractor. Or spy. Either or, really- Regardless, Fluffball could probably be sent out to intercept others in their path, either to distract of retain information via a recording device-

I ask of you for that character bingo: Your opinions on Hiruhiko. I already know how you feel about most of the characters, but I haven't quite gotten your stance on him.

Ah, yes, the terrible man. The bastard. The Mahito allegations.

*projects onto them like a mf*: I think most of my observations about Hiruhiko, and how his struggles with socialization and understanding friendship are derived from loneliness, are ultimately a form of projection from a time in my life where I was very lonely. Much like Hiruhiko, I attributed it to some kind of superiority, simply believing myself too good for everybody else around me. I hope that he, too, can learn that he doesn't have to be alone, and that putting himself on a pedestal like that only hurts him.

The fandom is so mean smh: Remember how clowned this guy got when his arms got cut off? I believe most of the fandom sees Hiruhiko for his crimes, but not the circumstances that brought him there. This is, of course, a fairly common problem in fandom spaces: victims of circumstance lashing out at the world will either be demonized and have their circumstances erased, or be woobified and have their crimes erased. So it has been with Sasuke Uchiha, Goro Akechi, Adam Taurus, and many, many other edgelords of the past, and so it shall continue to be. I firmly believe that once we get more details on Hiruhiko's past, he'll become this very archetype.

Though I'm sure he has some mitigating circumstances that will make his villainy understandable, and even sympathetic, this Mahito looking ass still took an entire theatre hostage. He is, in fact, a slimy, evil, wretched little creature. As tends to happen when your only frame of reference for friendship is a guy you tried to kill.

They are So Silly: A common theme among the Hishaku is that they absolutely revel in this villain shit. They're silly, they're goobers, they all have autism. Johnathan Agriculture was on the little spring lamb thing at the playground, Bowler Hat Guy was absolutely enjoying being sinister. Even among them, though, Hiruhiko stands out for his lackadaisical approach. He sends emails full of emoticons with Subject: Fun about how he's gonna kill a guy. He called Chihiro a fake ass emo. In a series that's had some funny villains, he stands head and shoulder above the rest as the goofiest.

These all culminate, of course, in the SQUEAK/I want to BITE them.

I'd talk more about the aesthetics, but I'm no art student.

I'm gonna, like, preface this by saying that I'm talking completely from the heart and also (despite everything and my various stints into this fandom) I don't actually understand the lore of the Sonic series, let alone Shadow. I've also only ever played four games in the series, besides the occasional scratch level copy, I haven't finished any of them, and they are Sonic Colors, Sonic and the Secret Rings, The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog, and this one weird handheld Olympics thing which I WISH I still had or at least wish I knew the name of.

I am so normal about them: I really really like this color scheme, as anyone who sees my blog theme (or watched any of my old map parts) would clearly know. As a result. I am normal.

My friend's favorite, my blorbo by proxy: I think her favorite is technically Metal Sonic but, like, very close second. Even though I go in and out of this fandom Shadow is always in my life.

Basically, I really like the storyline shadow has in Adventure Two (at least from what I understand of it), and though I get really lost lore wise in the main games after that, I still like most of what I've heard. Also, I really love his gun and motorcycle, they are so funny and also so cool and I love him.

I don't really like him that much in boom, but I really love his design, and tbh I've only watched the first season of Boom so far and he only shows up once, so I don't really know much about differences there yet. I liked his animation really well though!

He's probably my second or third favorite movie character (battling for Sonic, as always. heh), with Knuckles in first, but I really liked him in the new movie! I love his design, and even though I'm low key not a super fan of his voice acting there, I still think it sounds pretty good and suits him well! I LOVED his design in the movie, literally squeaking and rocking back in forth in the theater, I'm afraid. XD

Starscream! Armada, G1, IDW, Earthspark, any and all you wanna discuss.

As luck would have it, I actually know all of those Starscreams, lol. Only familiar one not listed is TFP (if you lump Energon in with Armada).

Hey, Bingo.

Just gonna touch on/quantify a few of these...

I am so normal about them: Starscream is my criterion for engaging with almost any media. I almost never touch anything until I know what happens to him in the end (EarthSpark is the exception - someone talked me into watching episode 8 and I grudgingly became invested).

Everyone else is wrong about them: So many. So many people write Starscream as ludicrously vain and/or the most thoughtless, selfish partner ever. Starscream, who claimed to have circled half the globe looking for Skyfire, and who had absolutely nothing to gain by lying about how hard he searched. He might not be the easiest person to get close to, but this mech cares deeply when he does care (and then there's IDW, but we don't talk about IDW). Also, specific to Armada Starscream: when people make him super sad and in need of saving because he's so abused. That is a mech who deals with pain by getting angry, and he canonically escaped the abuse on his own - the Autobots gave him a place to stay for a while, and they contributed to his emotional growth, but it was ultimately Starscream who broke the hold Megatron had over him. And it annoys me when people distill his abuse to a standard savior trope (honestly, Starscream rarely gets enough agency in abuse recovery fics in general, but it hits differently with Armada).

The fandom is so mean: Pretty much every version of Starscream is perfectly competent when he's given the chance to be (I will die on the hill that Starscream is the only Decepticon in TFP who actually gets things done. Soundwave doesn't count because his talents are wasted on Megatron's obsessions). But you constantly see people using the same language to talk about him that Megatron does, and I'm like. I want to bite them.

Puts them in a salad spinner: I mean. Starscream has a rough time in my fics sometimes. Often times. But sometimes it's because of canon trauma, so it's not always my fault...

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it: Pretty sure IDW is, if not directly responsible for most of my least favorite Starscream tropes, then it certainly influenced their abundance in fanon.

They are so silly: G1 Starscream with a slingshot, and jumping on Megatron because he's so happy to be back in his proper timeline. EarthSpark Starscream getting flustered when Twitch hugs him. I'm not a fan of Starscream being relegated to comic relief, but sometimes he's just. So endearingly silly.

A Beast Unleashed: Listen. G1 Starscream can flying tackle bots much larger than him to the ground, TFP is basically feral, Armada is one of the few Starscreams who challenges Megatron and can physically hold his own, EarthSpark is willing to face down a giant monster for someone he gets attached to. Most versions have refined sarcasm to an art form. Starscream is savage and capable and deserves more opportunities to showcase his strengths instead of being torn down for his weaknesses.
