just finished reading @twstyuna's fic blood and bone and heart of stone and felt the need to highlight the fact ace's initial assumption of. yeah this is definite nepotism. was not that much of a jump actually spoilers for chapter 19 and appropriate levels of gore mentions for it below cut

I typically don't really do fanart for more rural and specific stuff like fanfictions over fandoms because it's like. my art is really. static. not really outstanding or anything. and it's easier to get lost in the crowd of "tons of art for popular game" vs "one of the like twenty total art pieces for super specific fanfiction I like" but the leona scene where golem!yuu rips out their molar and presents it to him as a gift really just stuck out to me. I did make a sketch of that but I was like. you know for someone really bad at gore this somehow ends up the topic of a lot of my art. I should go find something else. so after getting a drawing ref of golem!yuu I was like !!!! oh wow yeah they really do look like crowley huh. so I went for this instead

WiP - Kanda's Mugen & Golem

Aaaand here we are with the last details for finishing Kanda! Of course he is not complete without Mugen & his little Golem.

Finally some sculpting I was super hyped to start with this. This time I used Cosclay a clay that needs to be baked to cure. It's similar to use as super sculpey but more soft and evens out in a more beautiful way, I really like it.

As Mugen went into the oven I started on the Golem... super tiny Golem. I attached a magnet in the inside to make it stick to Kanda later on.

Carving, fixing and another round of baking. You can see I had so much fun here. I decided not to go with "perfect", it's battle gear THIS NEEDS TO LOOK LIKE ITS USED. No seriously I took some artistic freedom here.

The next day I went and painted Mugen C: I really enjoyed working on it.

And on the third day I finished the tiny Golem.

I really want to sculpt more in the future and have more different projects again. But everything is quite sewing heavy... sometimes it's like that.

Hi, I read your monster au posts and they are amazing. Though I was wondering what would Rollo be and how would he handle there being a magicless human given his attitude in canon, as well as how would GloMas go down with Yuu and Mini!Yuu in that au?

So, I’d been holding off on answering this for Rollo until I had a better grasp on his personality and behavior, as deciding the monster/cryptid species that fits best is important. But since the Glorious Masquerade is coming to the ENG servers tomorrow (I’m not ready!!!), it feels like the right time to introduce him into the Monster!AU!

Also, as for whether or not RSA has seen Yuu/mini!Yuu, I think at least Che'nya and Neige and the dwarves have seen them yes! Outside of those, I leave that up to you/whatever direction the game takes us down next! And thank you so much, I'm glad everyone loves the AU's ;;v;;

To answer the question, I decided to base him off the French (and coincidentally Louisiana) cryptid “feu follet”, otherwise known as a Will-o’-the-wisp. Why did I choose this versus creatures like the “Beast of Gévaudan” or the “Gaueco” which will make him a fluffy canine monster? Well, while I think both would be interesting concepts to work with, neither of them really seem to fit the vibe I got from him as he’s portrayed in the beginning (…well, before chaos as usual hits the fan of course). Plus, it was also an interesting excuse to delve into more of the non-animal based ones besides Ortho being a golem!

WARNING: SOME SPOILERS AHEAD AND MENTION OF DEATH BASED ON THE MYTHOLOGY OF THE FEU FOLLET/WILL-O’-THE-WISP!

Anyway, I picture him being more of a feu follet/Will-o’-the-wisp as a call to his UM “Dark Fire” and his last name Flamme, which translates to “flame” in French. Hence, as a “ghost light”, it seemed more fitting! Feu follets are said to come in various shades of blue, yellow, red, and even green—now imagine him changing color based on his emotions and having to control that side in public! His poker face means nothing behind that handkerchief if he turns colors! 😂 (Especially if you keep in mind color theory!)

While they’re also generally harmless, however, if you’re familiar with the legend of Will-‘o-the-wisps (which has multiple different variations and stories across the world!), following one at night thinking it’s a fellow traveler can lead to one’s death in a marsh, bog, swamp, etc. Typically, they’re seen in a graveyard or one of the above-mentioned areas. Since no one knew how dangerous Rollo was until it was too late, it seemed fitting for him to be one!

By the way, he can be corporeal to handle things or be hugged by someone. He can also phase through things he wants to avoid…now imagine his hat getting caught between the fence bars! 🤣🤣🤣

With that out of the way, let’s discuss his reaction to Yuu and mini!Yuu!

Given that he’s more comfortable with non-magic users, he’d be fascinated and charmed at the thought of humans—creatures of historic legend and cryptic bedtime stories—being non-magic. A world where magic doesn’t exist and no one will be consumed by blot or harmed by spells gone awry? He’d likely want to know more, but he wouldn’t want to get too close—after all, he’s not exactly keen on making friends or showing a vulnerable side. Yuu is gonna have their work cut out for them if they want to give him pets and scritches! Their best bet is in private where he’s less likely to react so strongly (though if he learns that getting the majority of Yuu’s attention is enough to annoy Malleus and the others, I can see him being smug about it and letting them praise him 😌).

As for mini!Yuu though…

Mini!Yuu: *toddling around the room, giggling as they support the large puffy cap on their head*

Azul: “Where did you get that, little one?”

Mini!Yuu: “Mr. Rollo dropped it and let me wear it!” *adjusts the cap with one hand to try and look up at them before bumping into Deuce’s leg* “Oof!”

Deuce: “Oop! Careful, Yuu!”

Riddle: “I’m surprised he allowed you to wear it given his position as Student Council President.”

/Meanwhile/

Vice President: “Uh…President Rollo? Where is your cap?”

Rollo: *holding handkerchief to his mouth* “Yuu wanted to know how heavy it was.”

Vice President: “Y-you’ve never let yourself be out of uniform!” *gets emotional* “But you’re allowing the human child to wear it…that is so precious!”

Rollo: *scowls, his wisp body turning reddish-pink in embarrassment*

As for how the whole event would go down…well, I can imagine that Rollo would believe he’s doing the right thing, so him possibly trying to separate Yuu from the others using the flowers would be even more terrifying! For mini!Yuu, the whole situation would be absolutely terrifying for the toddler since I doubt the others would have let them come with them to stop Rollo. So, the boys would likely leave them with Grandpa Trein for safety until the whole situation is done and over with.

Once all is said and done, it’s really up to Yuu to decide how they see Rollo after the fact. As for mini!Yuu? Whether they find out it was started because of him or the boys kept it under wraps just like everyone else in NBC being ignorant of what happened, they might just be happy to see he’s okay. Now imagine him dancing with mini!Yuu at the end of the event like Charlotte with Prince Naveen’s younger brother from Princess and the Frog!

Ik Crowley mentioned he's quite powerful but the fact that he has an ability to duplicate himself and have it act near identical in all aspects (the only other person we know to do this is Cater, and that's because it's his UM) is a bit terrifying? I would wager twst probably has something akin to golems but the fact that his duplication is entirely magic-manifested is quite eyebrow raising.

Not to mention his own magic (lash of love) seems to restrict an individual the more they use magic. Idk, it feels like this really sets a foundation for potential conflicts in the coming chapters, especially considering how many people in NRC are dependent on magic (save for Yuu)

GIANT GORG BLU-RAY SUBTITLES

Recently, this wonderful 80s anime received a Blu-Ray HD release in Japan, but there are no English subtitles available for it. So I took it upon myself to rip the English DVD subtitles for Giant Gorg, run them through OCR transcription, fix line by line machine transcription mistakes, and re-time the whole thing to sync to the Blu-Ray rips online! To do that for 26 episodes was a big, often boring task, but if it makes anyone else watch and enjoy this series as much as I did, it's worth it, to me. Here's the link! Giant Gorg was directed by the legendary Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, known as the character designer of the original Mobile Suit Gundam and Dirty Pair, and the director of the recent Gundam movie, Cucuruz Doan's Island, plus the creator of several manga, anime and film works like Gundam: The Origin, Arion, Jesus, Venus Wars, and many others.

Giant Gorg is kind of a precious baby of his that unfortunately never took off in popularity the way it deserved to. It's a wonderful series in the style of old adventure serials like Johnny Quest, about a boy named Yuu Tagami who, through a series of events, ends up joining/founding an exploration group to research the mysterious tropical island of New Austral, that is also on the aim of an evil corporation called GAIL, who'll do whatever it takes to claim the island and its secrets its exclusive property.

Yuu ends up finding and seemingly befriending a mysterious, ancient, and extremely powerful golem residing in the island, the titular GIANT GORG, deepening the mysteries of the land. The expedition group juggles surviving the island's natural and less-than-natural perils, managing internal conflicts, scraping by GAIL's assaults and dealing with other parties interested in the island for themselves. Plus, they now have to figure out just what the Giant Gorg is, if it can be relied on, and what is its intent. Whether this incredible being really is a Messenger of the Gods, some cataclysmic ancient weapon, or something else entirely. If I had to reduce it to something, it's old adventure serials mixed in with Mobile Suit Gundam and the Iron Giant. That's kind of what Giant Gorg is. The expedition group has a similar feeling to a much more scaled down White Base in Gundam, a group of people mostly barely related to one another forced into becoming a found family, relying on each other and surviving the strikes of a much bigger military force that's after them, with their own bureaucratic conflicts and machineries. Giant Gorg even has its own Char, in the form of Rod Balboa, a hotshot heir of GAIL that has been given control of its New Austral initiative. He's voiced by the same actor and everything!

What's truly great about GIANT GORG is how it creates a real, powerful sense of danger as stakes change and things escalate, both materially and emotionally. Characters feel like truly strong individuals that develop and peel out layers of complexity as the series goes on, and it tests your faith heavily in who they are and whether they'll do the right thing for themselves and the people they care for. There's such a great mix of excitement, sentimentalism, danger, discomfort, comedy, that makes this series feel like a truly all-encompassing and fullfilled Adventure.

So yeah, and the Blu-Ray looks fantastic, especially as someone who had to watch it originally in dim, blurry 420p resolution. So please give it a try!

Idia - The Tavern Scene

Prompt: "Fantasy AU"

You find yourself in a lively tavern. Patrons of all walks of life, from towering half-orcs to nimble gnomes, cram themselves into the small room from wall to wall, and laughter fills the air along with the mouthwatering smells of cooked meat and stew. Tiny fairy lights drift above the crowd, creating a light and cheerful ambience. Though you have no memories of traveling here, you find yourself relaxing thanks to the warm and welcome atmosphere. You walk deeper into the crowd in search of an empty table. You eventually find one, but upon sitting down, you realize three others have done the same. 

How do you introduce yourself? 

[“Roll for initiative!” 

“Huh? Initiative for what? I just said to introduce yourself.” 

“I wanna go first!” 

“You don’t have to roll initiative for that. Just go first.” 

“Shit! I got a natural one.” 

“You’re going last now.” 

“lol sucks to suck.” 

“Be nice, big brother!” 

“What’s initiative again?” 

“Introduce yourselves already!”] 

“I sit down after carefully propping my samurai sword against the table. I bow my head to each of you as a show of respect. Konbanwa. I pray you do not mind I claim this seat. I have traveled a great distance this evening.” 

“I smile and lean across the table like I wanna shake his hand. The heavy backpack I always carry accidentally knocks over the chair, and a few pebbles kinda break off my body and fall on the floor. Whoops! Sorry about that! I’m not used to being in such small places. I take his hand whether he wants me to or not and give it a hearty shake. My name’s Orzo! I point at the little fairy next to me. And this is Lulu! We’ve been traveling together for a long time. Lulu is the one who woke me up.” 

“I kinda bend forward from the force of his shake because he’s so large, but I act all cool about it. A pleasure to meet you both. I am Kenji.” 

“I just keep shaking his hand and smile because I have no awareness of human social cues.” 

[“Roll for constitution, Idia.” 

“Why?” 

“Because he’s a giant ass stone golem with no social awareness. He’s gonna crush your hand if you don’t do something.” 

“I got a six. Plus five which makes that eleven.”] 

Although you sense no ill-intent from this strange creature of earth and stone, you begin to feel the slow crush of bone as he slowly squeezes your hand tighter and tighter. Not knowing how this new companion will react to rejection, you smile and bear the intensifying pain shooting up your forearm as you formulate a plan to politely extract yourself from his grasp. 

[“Could I step in to break them apart before Idia loses his hand? 

“Yeah, go ahead. You’ll roll a d20 for charisma to see if your interjection is enough to distract Orzo.” 

“Can she have advantage since Orzo and Lulu already know each other?” 

“Sure. I’ll allow it.” 

“Great! You can use my die, Yuu!” 

“Thanks. So I just roll this and give you my number?” 

“Yeah. Roll twice and take the higher number. Then add the modifier on your character sheet for a final total. That’s how you’ll roll for skill checks, ability checks, and other stuff like that.” 

“Twenty-five.” 

“Your interjection is so successful that Orzo will never forget the social cue again.” 

“By the way, Yuu? You’re supposed to use our character’s name while we’re roleplaying. So I’m Orzo, Idia’s Kenji, and Kalani’s Gacktu.” 

“Right. Sorry!”] 

“Um, I’ll fly up onto the table since I’m assuming I can’t see anything from my chair anyway and...skip over to where their hands are. I’ll kinda flutter in the air next to their hands and grab Ortho—I mean Orzo’s wrist. Slow down there big guy! You’re gonna break another hand.” 

[“What? Why are you laughing?” 

“You sound so...squeaky.” 

“I’m supposed to be a fairy! Fairies sound squeaky.” 

“It makes me wanna squish you between my hands!” 

“As Gacktu or Kalani?” 

“Both!” 

“You need to stop hanging out with Floyd…”] 

With your reminder, Orzo recognizes Kenji is wincing in pain and releases him. Since you interjected when you did, Kenji is freed from Orzo’s hold before he takes any damage. Continue. 

“As I was saying [—stop laughing!—] you've gotta remember your strength big guy. Humans aren’t as sturdy as stone golems are.” 

[“Did you just get inducted into the mafia?” 

“Srsly. What is that accent?” 

“Shut up and let me roleplay!”] 

“I get tired of waiting for my turn to introduce myself and throw a stink bomb into the center of the table.” 

[“Are you kidding me?” 

“Everyone roll a dexterity save. You included, Kalani.” 

“My dexterity is shit.” 

“You did this to yourself. I told you if you were going to ruin my game with your random crap like you did the last one, then I was going to kill you in the first hour.” 

“Seventeen!” 

“Ten.” 

“Nat twenty.” 

“Freaking six.”] 

A small ball made of dried leather and stitched rather roughly together lands in the center of the table. Before you can deflect it back at the little booger sitting with you, a noxious green gas explodes from the seams. Both Orzo and Kenji dodge the attack; Lulu and Gacktu do not. Lulu takes three acid damage, and Gacktu takes six.” 

“Screams in goblin!” 

“I do this sick kind of backflip and grab my sword like I’m ready to attack. I do not know how your kind normally greet each other, but I will only allow such treatment once.” 

“I go to throw another stink bomb directly at the funny looking human. It’s just a friendly how-do-you-do!” 

“I see the stink bomb heading straight at me, and I don’t even hesitate to unsheathe my blade. The edges of it glow with purple wisps of magic, and the elvish symbols etched into the steel glow a similar purple. [I activate my cantrip Ghost Blade which allows me to parry physical and arcane attacks until my concentration is broken.] I parry the bomb off the flat edge of the blade and send it flying across the room.” 

You successfully parry the stink bomb, and it goes flying across the room just like you said. Unfortunately, the tavern is so crowded, there’s no way the stink bomb can be fully avoided. It explodes into another cloud of noxious green gas just like the first one. You all watch as a party of innocent gnomes are immediately incapacitated by the fumes. All of you need to roll perception saving rolls. 

[“I got a seven.” 

“Three. Fairies aren’t very perceptive.” 

“Neither are stone golems. I got a natural one.” 

“Twenty-seven, patootie!”] 

None of you except Gacktu notice a number of patrons turning in the direction of your table. Gacktu, you realize they are aware the stink bomb came from your table, but they don’t look like they know exactly who threw the bomb. Their wariness has shifted the light-hearted atmosphere. 

[“I don’t bring anyone’s attention to the people staring at us.” 

“We’re gonna get KO’d before we’re even able to order a drink...”] 

“I had kinda dove under the table to avoid the original bomb, but since I’m so big, you still see most of my body. So I’m essentially just hunched over with my head under the table. I wave Lulu over to me after I realize she took damage from the first stink bomb. Oh, no! Lulu! Come here so I can heal you before that nasty acid melts your wings.” 

[“Lemme see. I’ll use one of my tier one spell slots to cast Cure on her. And...she’ll get the max heals of six.”] 

“I crawl to the edge of the table and dramatically fall into Orzo’s hand for him to heal me. Thanks Orzzy. Now watch this. 

[“Since I’m a rogue, can I do this sleight of hand action to steal all the stink bombs off Gacktu?” 

“I’ll allow it with advantage. Do a skill check the same way you did the charisma check.” 

“You guys are boring.”] 

“Once I’m healed, I flit over to Gacktu. He doesn’t see me crawl into the pouch on his hip where he had pulled out the first bomb. I use my natural fairy magic to trap all the stink bombs in little bubbles of light, and they float into the air to join the fairy lights lighting the tavern.” 

The patrons see this and lose a bit of their wariness and return to what they were previously doing. Before you leave Gacktu’s pouch, you notice more odd leather balls of varying color. 

[“Oh, come on! Now you’re just being a patookie, Ladnar!” 

“You’ve angered this world’s god, and he is fully prepared to smite you. Yuu, roll another sleight of hand with advantage and an arcane check.”] 

You notice more odd leather balls of varying color, and with your knowledge of magic, you recognize these leather balls are potent bombs of alchemy. Having already experienced Gacktu’s short attention span and lack of patience, you decide it would be best to steal those balls and make them into fairy lights as well. 

[“Don’t I get to make some kind of saving throw?” 

“No. You’re distracted by your own mayhem. Strike all the stink bombs, smoke bombs, lightning bombs, fire bombs, firecrackers, and ice cubes from your inventory.” 

“You want my bath bombs too?” 

“Since you’re being a little shit, yes.” 

"I’ll make you regret this.”] 

“I fly back over to Orzo when I’m done and dance around his head. Look Orzo! Aren’t they pretty? And then I’ll pull out the bath bombs I stole and proudly show Orzo. And I got this! It smells like mint bubblegum, so I kept it for myself.” 

“I’ve never seen anything like that before. What does it do?” 

“I don’t know, but he obviously doesn’t use it. He smells like old cheese and swamp. We can try adding it to water later to make a potion!” 

“I relax a little since I saw Lulu take most of the bombs from the crazy goblin’s pouch, but I keep my hand on my sword just to be ready. I don’t sit again, but I stand next to the table. I see that you, Lulu and Orzo, may be more trustworthy than this creature. Tell me, do either of you know this area well? I have found myself here, but I have no memory of my travels.” 

“What a coincidence! Neither do we. I’m not that great when it comes to directions, but Lulu’s really good with maps. She keeps really good track of where we travel, but there’s nothing on her map after we left the last town we were in. I dig into my backpack and pull out a small map that’s barely larger than the palm of my hand. See? Nothing there.” 

[“Can the map just be a bunch of scribbles with cartoons that look vaguely like mountains and forests?” 

“It’s your map. You get to decide how all of your personal things look and what they do, just like you decide what your character does. I’m giving you the overarching story and directing you through it.” 

“Cool. So the map basically looks like a kid drew it with crayons. There’s some green scribbles in one corner that looks like it might be a forest and some grey scribbles at the top that kind of look like mountains or clouds. In one section of the map is a cartoon of a cat that has a bunch of exclamation marks and a red stain next to it. There’s a bunch of black scribbles that kinda look like a large ball of yarn all over the paper with random red X’s scattered here and there. Above each X is the word HERE, and only one X has a HERE that hasn’t been scribbled out.] 

“I point at the one X and say, Last I checked, we were there, but now we’re here, but it’s not the same here as there, so it can’t be here, here, or here. I’m pointing at the other X’s as I say that. So the only here it could be is right here! And then I take a little red crayon out of the pocket of my little leaf overalls and make a giant X in the middle of the map.” 

“So we do know where we are! See? I told you. Lulu is great with maps! I go to give Lulu a high-five even though she’s barely the size of my palm.” 

“I give him a high-five by tackling his hand with my entire body.” 

[“Can I do a perception check to see if the people in the tavern are watching us again?” 

“Why are you trying to ruin this moment?” 

“I want to play the game, and this is getting boring!” 

“Fine. Do a perception check.” 

“Sixteen.”] 

You see the patrons who were suspicious of you earlier have returned to their drinks and company. They’re not looking in your direction at all. [“Are you happy now?” 

“Yes. What does the bar area of the tavern look like?” 

“It looks like any other tavern. I didn’t plan for you to linger here long enough to put any special detail into it.” 

“Hmm. So I’m assuming they have stereotypical tavern fare. Like barrels of ale.” 

“Yes. What are you fishing for?” 

“Nothing. Continue.”] 

"I'm nodding my head as Lulu explains her map to me. but I’ve decided Orzo and Lulu are not a reliable source to answer any of my questions. Perhaps we may travel together for a while to—.” 

“I cast Fire Bolt on the barrels of ale behind the bar and yell, Kowabunga!” 

[“Are you serious right now?” 

“Kalani!” 

“GG bois. We’re cooked. Literally.” 

“No. No. No! He is not doing this again. I will not have another space funeral like the Meteor Odyssey campaign. Everyone roll dexterity!” 

“One.” 

“Four” 

“Nine.” 

“Twenty! Ahahahaha!” 

“Crap. All of you except Kalani take fire damage. Lemme see...Idia you take three damage; Ortho you only take two; and Yuu...how much health do you have?” 

“I only have six since I’m a tiny fairy.” 

“...” 

“Am I already dead?” 

“You’re not by chance a fire fairy, are you?” 

“No.” 

“Then yeah, you’re dead.”] 

“Lulu! No! You can’t die on me!” 

“Orzo. My friend. I’m afraid...this is the end. Bleh.” 

[“You know, we might be roleplaying, but you don’t have to actually lay on the floor and die.” 

“Yes, I do, Idia.” 

“No, you—.” 

“Yes, I do, Idia.” 

“Fine. Whatever.” 

“All the people that were angry at us earlier have to be even angrier now. Angry enough to start a tavern brawl!” 

“Why are you trying to fabricate an unnecessary fight this early. I had it planned for you to fight an undying—.” 

“Too slow! Not enough violence. Gacktu crave violence!” 

“You know what? Fine!”] 

As the fire ravages through the room, engulfing Lulu’s small body— 

“Lulu! Who will guide me with their maps now?” 

“Bleh!” 

—the patrons who noticed your infighting earlier begin to converge on your table. The flames reflect off the surface of their eyes, and you can see the same angry heat personified in their movements. Many of them are unarmed, but others pull daggers from their belts. Because of your location in the far back corner, you have no choice but to engage with them. 

[“Roll initiative so we can get this bloodbath over with and call it a day. Everyone is at a disadvantage except Kalani because he’s the one that started all this.” 

“Fourteen. Not that it matters.” 

“Another twenty!” 

“I’m just going to sit next to where Lulu once was and let the fire take me.” 

“You don’t have to do that Ortho.” 

“I do! We were the best of companions, and I could never continue my journey without you! Bleh!” 

“I’m starting to think you two just want to lay on the floor.” 

“Kalani and Idia, you both rolled under what I just rolled for the tavern group, so they all go before you.” 

“How many are there?” 

“Twenty-six.” 

“Crap...” 

“The six unarmed patrons move to get into attack range, but their movement is impended by the fire, which leaves them five meters short of reaching you. Six of the patrons wielding daggers do the same. Five of those patrons with daggers throw their weapons at Gacktu. What’s your AC?” 

“Ten.” 

“They all hit for a total of twenty-five. Each.” 

“Gacktu will slowly fall to the ground, and his screams become all gurgly as blood gushes out of his throat and the wounds where the daggers penetrate him. Ahhhhhgghghghgh!” 

“Ew. You just spit all over my tablet.” 

“Welcome to death, Gacktu.” 

“Why does the Underworld smell like vinegar?” 

“The other patrons move forward.” 

“I’m rolling for immediate death. Nat twenty. GG. I’m out.”] 

“Are you happy now, Kalani?” Ladnar snapped. He closed his laptop with a heavy slam. The squinted glare he directed at the cackling boy sprawled on the ground made Idia hide behind his tablet. “You managed to ruin another campaign in less than half an hour. Congratulations.” 

“I had fun,” Yuu said. She shifted to look less “dead.” Ortho snickered where he sprawled across her stomach. “It sucks that I died before I could stab anyone with my twin knitting needles, but I’ll play as Lulu the thieving fairy again the next time you play.” 

“I’m not ever playing with Kalani again,” Ladnar insisted. He fidgeted with his glasses. Azul usually did the same when he lost a game in their Board Game Club meetings, so Idia figured it was just a habit all glasses-wearing people had. “Why do you have to blow up everything before the campaign even starts?” 

“‘Cause it gets so boring,” Kalani groaned. He wiggled around on the floor until he bumped up against Yuu. Yuu’s nose wrinkled when he flung his palm into her face. “Does my hand smell like vinegar?” 

“Ew. It does. Why do you smell like that?” 

“It’s the floor! Someone spilled vinegar on the floor!” 

“You were also eating salt and vinegar chips before we started,” Ortho argued. He rolled onto his stomach and propped his elbows on Yuu. He kicked his legs in the air behind him. “I’m gonna agree with Ladnar though. You can’t play with us anymore.” 

“Aw! You too kaikaina?” Kalani groaned. He rolled around on the floor. Idia couldn’t help imagining him being a little child throwing a tantrum with his flailing limbs. “I was just tryin’ to make things more exciting and get the story moving!” 

“I told you during session 0 that our first session would be a little slow!” Ladnar argued. Idia slowly slid down his chair until he could barely see Ladnar’s reddening face over the table. “We’re establishing the setting and story. I had a combat sequence planned to end the session that would have been a satisfying cliffhanger and helped ease Yuu into the game mechanics. But she didn't even get a chance to fight because you killed her!” 

Kalani stuck out his tongue so far that Idia thought he would stick it up his nose. “You were taking too long. We’ve been playing for two hours now!” 

“We’ve barely been here for twenty minutes!” 

Idia slithered out of his chair as the argument between Ladnar and Kalani escalated. He army crawled to join Ortho and Yuu. Ortho giggled, and Yuu grunted when Idia “accidentally” knocked his bony elbow against hers. “See why I don’t usually play TTRPG IRL? At least online you can kick a griefer from the campaign and block them.” 

"Technically, we didn’t have to just die,” Ortho said, “but it didn’t sound like Kalani was really feeling the setting. We can always try again next week!” 

“Yeah,” Yuu said. Idia hissed through his teeth when she dug her elbow into his. “Playing games online isn’t bad but getting to watch everyone act out their character is a lot more fun than I thought it would be.” 

“Oh!” Ortho popped up off the floor in one fluid motion. Ladnar and Kalani’s argument had dissolved into them throwing insults at each other, Kalani shouting nonsense while Ladnar blinked in and out of existence. “We should invite Vil to play with us! I could totally see him playing a high elf, noble, warlock!” 

Idia snorted and propped himself on his elbows to check the gacha games notifications on his tablet. “Yeah, right. Like Vil would agree to—.” 

“He says he’s down as long as it doesn’t conflict with his schedule,” Yuu interrupted. Idia’s head snapped towards her so suddenly that a muscle in his neck twinged in pain. Yuu had pulled out her phone and was obviously messaging someone. “I bet Lilia would enjoy a game like this too. Is there a limit to how many people can play?” 

“Five is a pretty common number for most campaigns,” Ortho answered. Idia shot Ortho a wide-eyed look at his encouragement, but he appeared as enthusiastic at the prospect of more players as Yuu did. “Six might get a little busy, but Ladnar’s hosted a campaign with ten other dorm mates before. I’ll go ask him how many players would work with a campaign reset!” 

Idia stared in silent horror when Ortho flew over to talk to Ladnar, interrupting Kalani’s attempts to reenact his character’s fire spell. Idia groaned and dropped his face into his hands. “This was just supposed to be a one-time thing…” 

“Azul says he’ll play if it counts as club time.” 

Idia groaned again and felt his Fate was sealed when he heard another happy exclamation from Ortho. It was one thing to play a TTRPG with his dorm mates—who were all as nerdy as him even if one of those dorm mates was Kalani—but people like Vil, and Lilia, and even Azul? He might as well melt into a nerdy puddle right now and save himself the embarrassment. All because he had jokingly said he would set up a game if Yuu filled out a huge character sheet, complete with three pages of a full backstory. 

He was never making an offhanded promise to the prefect ever again.

Boboiboy!Yuu

They're a child with the power over seven elements and can split into seven, each having control over one elements and with they're own unique personalities. They were on a solo mission to find a Power Sphere, but ended up in Twisted Wonderland.

(Note: There will be some Malay words since I don't know what the attack names are in English)

Prologue

The Mirror is confused. He can sense elemental energy, but no magic whatsoever.

Uses water element to stop the fire from spreading. Traps him using Akar Menjalar (Creeping Vines?)

Very friendly and nice. Helps other people and often stops fights. Everyone wonders how this kid ends up in NRC.

Patience level of a saint, he deals with Adeuce and Grim because Gempa (Quake) has to deal with the rest of the elements whenever he splits.

The first thing he did when arriving at Ramshackle is cleaning it up. He hate to admit it, but Gopal is right. Ghost does exists (in this world, at least)

Hepta Split and gets to work, then Grim came in and saw seven people with the same faces; "Fggna! Am I dreaming or somethin'!? Why are there more of you!!?"

Halilintar (Thunderstorm) catches Grim, and was about to throw him out when Thorn literally begged Gempa to keep the kitty. Mama Gempa can't do anything with those big, doe eyes.

He said yes.

And that's how Grim joins Ramshackle with seven people to spoil him.

Beginning/Dwarf Mines Arc

They had split into seven, and Gempa split the jobs. He, Halilintar and Solar are going to the library in hopes that they'll find a clue to return to their home dimension.

The others (Blaze, Ais (Ice), Taufan (Cyclone) and Thorn) are tasked with cleaning the statues.

It's going quite well, and with Ais' power over water they were going to finish and join the others when Ace came.

Let just said that Ace pissed off both Blaze and Grim, and while trying to put out the fire Taufan made it worse with his wind.

They all has to clean up the windows, broke the chandelier and roped Deuce into their trouble.

At the Dwarf's Mines while everybody is arguing, he's at his limit. He literally summons a bolt of lightning and yells at them, "Listen. I'm not going to repeat this; we are going to work together and get that Magic Stone. If any of you are against it, I'm throwing this sword at you, understand!!?"

Nobody wants to deal with an angry Hali, so they begrudgingly work together.

Finally get the stone, and Gempa destroys the Blot Dwarf with his golem, gets promoted into an official NRC student with Grim, it's time to go home and rest.

Ace said that he wants to join Ramshackle. A red and black collar in the shape of a heart around his neck.

"It's true! Kali said something about this so she is here and asked the guys to come help keep that guy away from you!" Yuuka said but felt another shake before seeing the fire spreading and causing more explosions.

"Yeah, it's true!! Jinx said even with Yuuka and Ashley believing her.

~~~Four floors down~~~

"Crazy!? I'm not crazy if your the one shooting garnades in a hospital!" Davion shouted but as the other three covers their eyes, Davion saw a flashbang that it blinds him for a moment. He roars out in pain covering his eyes.

"Damn it!" he said before the hospital begins coming down. Right away, Bakugo noticed.

"Shit, we gotta go!" He said but Rin and Denji grabs Davion and ties him up and begins carrying him out.

"HEY! PUT ME DOWN! WHAT ARE YOU IDIOTS DOING!!" he said even if he was pretty heavy they still gets him out by jumping through a glass window. Ren and the other two were already out but they were shocked seeing what the others did.

~~~Rooftop~~~

"Ink, don't let him l..lie to you! It's not s..s..safe if older guys try t..to harm you.." Ashley said worried seeing the fire burning now around them.

"Yeah, even if he's older, guys like that are creeps!" Yuuka said worried more.

True Yuuka, Ashley, and Jinx listen to this and sees Kali explain it but Ink was trying to say something. Before the other three addsd to this they got the big shock.

"KALI!" Ink shouted. "WHAT?!" Kali shouts back, not liking to be interrupted.

"Davion is not going to take me away or hurt me! Or do whatever you just said!" Ink argued, upset.

"OH?! And what makes you think that?!" Kali said, putting her hands on her hips.

"BECAUSE HE IS MY COUSIN!" Ink exclaimed. A record scratch was heard to the three girls being in shock.

".......What?" Yuu asked.

"W..wait what?" Ashley mutters.

"Uhhhh..." Jinx blinks hearing this.

Wait.....Davion was her....before they think about it, the hospital was starting to shake violently before Ashley makes a plant golem as it holds it's hands out to carefully pick up the girls from the rooftop and moves back as the people down below saw the now burning hospital collapsing into piles of rubble. They were shocked seeing this but the golem sheilds them from the smoke and debris so it didn't hurt anything but it kept holding Ink and her friends.

In a moment the shaking stops now leaving a destroyed hospital. However, the golem sets Ink, Kali, Jinx, Yuuka, and Ashley down. That's when Ashley heard some angry shouting with Ren shaking his head seeing Bakugo, Rin, Denji and navarro around Davion who was tied up as he was struggling.

'Oh for fucks sake..' Ren thought with Atsushi in shock and Izuku sweating. Ohhhhhh they were going to get in so much trouble for this.

"There! This villain is down and out! Now he won't harm Ink!" Bakugo said glaring at Davion who was struggling.

Yuuka, Ashley, and Jinx blinks but listens to hearing the fighting and seeing people rushing out of the hospital. They were planning on bringing this hospital down!?

"Wait what?" Davion blocks both Rin and Denji but he looks to hearing Navarro. "What are you talking about!? Bounty? What-" He then saw him to fire a grenade before he pushes the two out the way and ducks. A big explosion was heard causing the side of the hospital to blow up showing fire and smoke. A giant hole was see to the outside as he looks.

"ARE YOU CRAZY!?" he shouted but blocks a punch from Bakugo.

"HE'S RIGHT! YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE WILL NEVER TAKE INK FROM US! NOR FOR HER BOUNTY SO LEAVE HER ALONE!" he roars causing more explosions.

"To explain, Kali thinks that guy your with is trying to 'hook up' with you! She thinks guys like that are creeps and he could do worse or harm you!" Yuuka said worried.

"Y..Yeah..I mean, he seems to be g..getting too close and personal I..Ink.." Ashley said worried too.

"That or he's really into you." Jinx shrugs but she then felt the hospital shake and vibrate and hearing the explosion with glass shattering and falling. She did look seeing people getting out and helped along with Ren helping with Izuku and Atsushi doing the same thinking this was insane.

"B..but Kali is l..looking out f..for you and the b..boys fighting him o..off to stop him from hurting or t..taking you away." Ashley said about to cry.

"Uhhhh maybe we should get Ink off the rooftop before this hospital comes crashing down?" Jinx said.

I like to think that Skully's UM turns people into Jack-o-lanterns immediately because he's 16 he's still developing it.

I like to think it gets more horrifying when he's older, and it's more developed. Maybe it turns people into pumpkins slowly, for the sheer fear factor of it. Feet turning into roots and the rest bursting into vines and tough skin and swelling up until you're a pumpkin. Coraline movie other-father kind of thing.

I like to think that if he tried and blew out the light in the jack-o-lantern, it could do anything from weakness/magic loss to fatality.

I like to think the area around him would go dark, or that whoever it's cast upon would get a little blinded, because Scary Night , and leave them to watch in terror as they see themselves (see easily, because of the pumpkin's orange, because of the light), how they twist and turn into grotesque pumpkin people before becoming jack-o-lanterns.

Basically progression to more fearful execution over time.

They pass through the final gate, panting heavily; breaths visible puffs in the air. Group two triumphed the first two gates, though group one snuck a victory at the third. This applied exceeding amounts of pressure for the fourth, and final gate; which just so happened to be about a couple of kilometers longer than the previous. If they didn't want to end the race in a tie, group two had to claim that final win. It wouldn't be as grand as a four-to-zero, but Eijun would settle for three-to-one.

Anything not to farm Oblivion Tunnels. Even though it was originally his idea, he dreaded the thought just as much as everyone else.  

Fortunately, group two snagged the final win, by quite a wide margin, too. Eijun supposed they had Miyuki to thank, as even with the extra mobs in the fourth segment, he continued to pull them all to the gate, where he actively participated more in taking the enemies down as opposed to defending. This allowed them to dispose of the pack of wolves swiftly, as well as the two snow golems that had been stationed in front of the last gate.

Eijun did try to cast a few heals from Rejuvenation since Miyuki ended up taking quite a few hits. Even if it didn't do much, he hoped it helped a little to negate some of the damage he received.

Miyuki was still required to pull out a potion as they continued on. Though to be fair, he had to have been swarmed by at least fifty or so creatures, it made sense he would need to replenish his health after all of that.

The path was supposed to lead them to a fork that would reunite them with group one. From there, they could progress through the rest of the raid together.

As soon as the other group came into view from behind some large, jagged rocks, Kuramochi openly laughed, "Happy farming!" Which earned him a few glares, choice words, and/or middle fingers.  

Yuuki was wholly unbothered, and poor Yui appeared rather frazzled, but otherwise unharmed. Eijun wouldn't be surprised if Azuma and Isashiki attempted to rush them through, which Yuuki wouldn't have allowed even at the cost of losing. Especially not when they had a novice tank; someone they were supposed to be showing the ropes to, just in case the worst were to happen, and Miyuki was unable to participate in future raids. Ever since Chris' major injury, they haven't had a backup tank available. Or, so Eijun had been told. Apparently, the vetting process Seido executed for new tank recruits was drastically more stringent compared to the other classes.

WiP - Kanda Yuu - Part 1

Alright it's about time for him to get clothes, his sword, Golem and all that. Starting with sewing to get my least favorite part out of the way before I get to the more fun things here.

I started with the pants (and I have to admit somehow it's a theme that I can't sleep before I sew for dolls???) and the pattern was good until I tried them on the doll... they were too small. Righty. Adjusted the pattern and nothing did fit anymore. I had to take his feet off to get the pants on as I refused to remake them again. Not to mention they slide off his butt when he sits and idk about the closure, for that point I was already fed up and decided just to decide what to do later.

Up to the shirt, which ... with the mood I was in was not the best thing to do then but alright, the seam around the collar was annoying but I managed somehow.

Next thing I noticed was ... I didn't prepare pattern for sleeves. I had the parts precut for two days and ... didn't notice?! Why? So decided to just eyeball stuff, it was going not that great anyways and somehow eyeballing always was better the past projects than calculating and measuring everything.

Next up were those gloves(?) ... I decided to just make them the fitting size and take off the hands to put them on, with the pants being that way I didn't bother to work those to the 1mm needed to be able to slide them off/on.

Took a break then as I needed to get outside for a bit.

Actually I had done everything I had planned for that day but somehow it was still super early... I decided to prepare parts until i lose motivation then. Started with the lining and to my surprise the sleeves are a PERFECT fit. Once again eyeballing is better than calculating. Tss.

As the lining went so well I went on with the main coat, which worked similar well :O

Looked up a ton of references inbetween as I decided to go for Kanda's current uniform, the one he got after re-joining the order after the Alma-Arc. Aside the fact he sold the golden parts there is a few details that are different like his belt, he got a "flap" on the back of his coat and the decorative ribbon is a bit different, same for the collar. It's not too different but enough to notice.

After another little break I continued with details, i love details. Seriously this is so much more rewarding than the bigger parts. He got his ranking, zipper and the rose cross.

How did Yuu meet the NRC gang in the deity au?

Well, that’s an easy one. Yuu fell into one of the Stardust Pools after Grim–who tried to steal some stardust pebbles from the water and accidentally aggro’d the magic golem into chasing both of them–and wound up in the Realm of Spring!

Ya’ll should know by now that it’s not Twisted Wonderland if Grim isn’t there to help drag us into shenanigans! >vÓ

Sorry for the delayed response, but a good chunk of things have been added and changed since I first started this AU. I’m quite pleased with the direction it’s going and I look forward to seeing how it progresses!

Anyway, one new development to the story I originally had is that Yuu “inherits” a seemingly useless item (of your choice by the way; there will be eight total, but I gotta figure out what the remaining ones besides these main four are) from a supposed relative: 

A “broken” compass that won’t be balanced no matter how much someone tinkers with it, an old pendant that looks like a small mirror, a metal bracer with a notch in it with a missing gemstone, and a small crystal that seems to contain a wisp of smoke within and “hums” when held in their palm.

These items will be given to Yuu/the reader/MC under the guise of a relative by the Lost Gods watching over them from afar (I shall go into detail when I finally finish the paths for the Yuu(s), as one of the paths will have the same items just received under a different circumstance!). While they may seem old and worn out, they’re actually ancient artifacts once used by the Ancient Hero to end the Great Darkness centuries ago.

Whichever one you choose first will essentially be the “strongest value” that Yuu will continue the story with while they collect the remaining seven items (four if we add the current known Yuu’s from the manga and novel in one of the other story paths).

If you guys got Kingdom Hearts vibes from the “what will you choose?” bit, then you get a cookie!

So now you must be wondering: why am I bringing this up? Simple, my dear. Because if Yuu didn’t have one of these artifacts (which is bonded to their soul by the way and will come back like a boomerang), they likely would have already been kicked out of Riddle’s realm so they can continue their mortal existence and we wouldn’t have a story. 😂

There isn’t anyone in the deity circle (aka NRC boys) who doesn’t recognize any of these artifacts. After all, they created said artifacts themselves and witnessed the usage of them to save the balance firsthand. Is it any wonder they might want to find and keep the missing mementos of their closest and dearest friend who sacrificed their life to save theirs? Not that they’d be very successful in taking it away when it’s bound to its new master already. As for how they meet the other deities…

Well, it’s kinda hard not to be the center of their attention when you’re literally in the middle of the emergency pantheon meeting Riddle called on discovery of the artifact. ^v^;

Afterwards, though, it’s essentially up to you to decide which pantheon Yuu/the reader/MC interacts with in whichever order. You want to follow it via the game chapters? Want to go in reverse or hop around like a graceful gazelle? Go ahead! You can take your time to get to know the deities and explore the pantheons or experience shenanigans while trying to uncover the true lore behind the Great Darkness. If you wanna toss Yuu/the reader/MC into the deep end of the pool and uncover the “Overblots” cultists that want to create a new “Great Darkness” by targeting them and Grim while they scramble to find the artifacts…well, that’s up to you too!

Copper golem helps human skeleton and Yuu in the maintenance of redstone systems as it is easier for our little copper friend to get into small spaces, so work is faster and more convenient.
