Does Gege really hate Gojo?! I'm starting to think it's actually Sukuna.

Poor Sukuna (and fans). He is showing incredible feats in this chapter in terms of resilience, creativity, and cleverness. He is evil. He is a villain. But you have to acknowledge that he is as much of a GOAT as Gojo.

Sukuna is fighting dirty by stealing Megumi's abilities via possession (not to mention using him as a shield). But it's kind of a given since he is a bad guy. It's undeniable tho that the way he quickly learned how to optimize 10 Shadows is insane.

However, all of Sukuna's accomplishments just constantly get flushed down the drain with ridiculous clownery like this. It didn't help that the two times he gloated, he immediately got dunked on.

Oh. Is Gege trying to paint Sukuna as the "underdog" in this fight?

Yeah. He absolutely does which is a very interesting subversion of typical shonen fights.

Usually the hero is the underdog and the villain is the pinnacle that must be defeated. In JJK, it's in reverse.

Now, the classic shonen trope is the "underdog" will prevail in the end. Is Gege going to play it straight or go for another subversion instead?

the fact that gojo just dies stuck in his past is such a horrible end to his character. hes supposed to be moving forward, moving on from his past but he struggled to. and instead of ACTUALLY being able to move on and come back to life, he STAYS there. he just… gives up on the students he wanted to keep alive and happy??? that was obviously young gojo speaking, not adult gojo. but thats another story for another day. hes not SUPPOSED to stay in the past, he was supposed to MOVE ON, and be happy with what he has NOW, but nooooo gege said “Nah, I’d Rush.” and KEPT him there stuck in his little blue spring that will never come back.

junpei most wronged character in jujutsu kaisen. geto and megumi having their bodies invaded is something terrible for me especially if megumi died he was a character with so much potential. sukuna what an annoying villain. nanami deserved more. itadori poor thing just gets beaten nobara deserved more attention. noritoshi kamo, yuki hajime were wasted. ps; yuki I liked that she was nerfed I don't like her. wow, the worst plotwist is megumi's sister, my god, she was totally wasted, there was no construction with megumi, poor thing. inumaki deserved more attention, he has insane power and was a corner. Now gojo, in my opinion, his death was very shallow and forced he doesn't even look like the gojo that was sealed, a totally different gojo If he had fought and caused damage to the sukuna then it would be different but he dies like no one like any sorcerer. Now I don't understand one thing why he wanted a pat on the back from geto if his students were there supporting him. Now my hope is Megumi, I really want him to come back, poor guy, he just suffered, he lost everything and everyone, what a cruel fate for our boy. No need to apologize nothing was cruel, you're super considerate anon!! I agree with pretty much everything ;_; Junpei deserved better, the entire cast deserves better but I think Gege wants this to go this way. It's tragic, and that's unfortunately the point. The Gojo v Sukuna fight.....idk what to think tbh because I don't enjoy the way he died, but I also really liked the way his last scenes in the afterlife played out. I think Gojo was meant to die young, in a fight. JJK has this theme of the younger generation surpassing the older generation, of the older generation passing on their will to the next. Nanami did this for Ino and Yuuji, Yaga kinda did it for the Gojo generation of students. Gojo actually kinda does it for Ijichi and his direct students like Yuuji and the second years.

The old has to die for the new generation to grow stronger and be better. So Gojo was going to die, at one point or another and the only person who's capable is Sukuna. Gojo was never going to win against Sukuna, not because he's not the strongest, but because he isn't Yuuji. Yuuji is the person who will kill Sukuna, for like, narrative reasons.

I do wish the rest of the cast was explored more properly. It's a huge list of characters, Gege could have taken his time for more chill arcs where we get to see the characters more happy and interacting under less threatening situations. Right now, there's zero cool down time and it's fight after fight. The Culling Games forces this but we did have about a month's worth of time in-story where the characters were training, I wish Gege actually wrote that time period instead of showing it through flashbacks because frankly I'm exhausted from all the fights (side note: I'm a Yuki stan hehe I was super upset, and still am about her death ;_;).

I think Megumi will live for sure. His role in the story and his own desire is to be saved. Yuuji wants to save him and that's his biggest motive. Trust Megumi's coming back.

EDIT: i'm so sorry I forgot to answer why Gojo wanted Geto with him to pat him on the back. I think it's because Gojo still very much considers Geto his best friend, his special person. He's the one person Gojo considers his equal in a way no one else is. He explains it himself; in terms of understanding him, his students just don't. The difference in level of understanding is that Gojo thinks his students are like plants in a garden he really loves. You can love a plant all you want but it's never going to understand you. Geto understands Gojo. Gojo dies wanting to be understood and the only people who understood the loneliness that comes with strength are Geto and Sukuna. Hence, despite loving his students, he wanted Geto there.

Maki was struggling. She remembered meeting the brown haired girl when Megumi introduced her but she couldn’t remember her goddamn name. 

Kuja? Kugisaki! That was it. Kugisaki Nobara. 

Maki was entranced the minute she had met the first year, happy she wasn’t the only woman there anymore, but Nobara had more interesting aspects than just being a girl. Nobara was feisty; she never let anybody put her down, if they did, they would be asking for a needle in the lungs. 

Maki loved that about her. 

She wondered if Nobara would be up to hang out one day, maybe at her own dorm. Maybe they would talk about boys, girls (we stan the lesbians in this house), manga, anime, periods, k-pop or just be teenagers. A break would be nice, just one day of chilling and talking without lives on the line and a risk of being horribly mutilated. Maki smiled and took note of the thought. 

She would ask Nobara later.

Heat seared into her back. She was on fire. Holy shit she was on fire. She fell to the ground, the pain too much to handle. Mechhamaru’s voice came into her ear, glitched and bothered. The earpiece must have been burned.

Fuck this day couldn’t have become more shitty.

Maki couldn’t remember a single day in her childhood when she wasn’t with Mai. They were glued to each other's side from day one, a popular thing between twins. The two used to do everything together, whether it was eating or bathing. 

One thing she definitely remembered from her childhood was birthdays. Since Maki and Mai were twins they would celebrate their birthday with one party. That and their father called them a waste of time and money. She could recall her mothers pained attempt at singing happy birthday, how the words came out gritted and short. How her mother thought they were burdens. 

Maki remembered Mai’s hand in hers. 

She remembered the warmth in Mai’s hands, how it made her feel safe and grounded. She remembered Mai’s face as they blew out the candles on their cake, how her face seemed passive but her eyes were filled with determination. 

“That’s why I told you not to go!”

Nishimiya’s voice brang Maki back to reality. She looked down in her arms. 

Mai stared back at her. 

The eyes that once held life were blank, lifeless. 

The body that once supported her, that was once her ember was dead cold. 

Mai Zenin died on May 7th, 2021.

According to the report, Megumi Fushiguro had unlocked some technique that could be dangerous to humans. The shikigami’s name was Mahogara, and it seemed to be causing the raven-haired boy some trouble. So as the amazing upper classmate she was, she volunteered to help him. 

Somebody should have warned her that she was going to have a mental breakdown after their session. 

How come she just noticed how creepily similar Megumi and Mai were? 

They both had stoic faces and determined eyes. They both had warmth that radiated off them. They both talked the same cut short mannered way. 

Soon, Maki found herself becoming closer to her underclassman than she would have liked. 

They would train every single day to try and get better at controlling that shikigami. Maki catched herself wanting to call Megumi Mai way too many times. 

Was Maki just noticing Megumi now that she had a Mai sized hole in her heart? Or did she actually like being around Megumi? She shrugged all of those thoughts off. 

She’ll let herself indulge just this once.

You were currently at a party organized by Gojo Satoru. His friends along with his colleagues and students were invited. You weren't one who enjoyed most of his parties, but you had showed up because of a certain someone you've had an eye on since forever.

Everyone was seated on a large circular sofa, drinks in hand. Light chatter along with some casual jazz set the mood of the room. Dim lights and sparkling gowns added to the elegant aura. The men were dressed in expensive suits, and the women were flaunting their curves in extravagant dresses.

Anybody would've been flattered by the amount of money that was spent on this occasion. But not you. You weren't fazed by any of that. Neither the sparkling chandelier nor the flirty words of the person sitting next to you flattered you. Your eyes were trained on the beauty seated opposite to you. You were going to try your best to woo her, tonight.

"Ah, how about a refreshing game of truth or dare, everybody?"

Gojo spoke over the sounds of the music, catching everyone's attention. He smirked, his sparkling blue eyes holding an ever present mischief.

A couple of groans were heard, but then again, Gojo's only supporter, Yuuji, exclaimed excitedly, "Sounds fun!"

An empty bottle of beer was promptly placed on the center table, and soon everyone was taking turns spinning it.

"The rules are simple!", Gojo explained, "If the narrow end of the bottle faces you, you must choose whether you want to play truth, or dare. The person on the broader end, must decide your fate."

You sighed at his over exaggeration.

"Everyone gets a chance to turn the bottle, to ensure a fair spin!"

The guy next to you finally stopped trying to flirt his way into your pants, paying attention to the game instead.

The bottle spun and spun, only to land facing Mei Mei. The broader end faced Yuuji.

"I'll go with truth.", she said, flicking her long hair behind.

"Um.. Is it true that you only do something if you have money to gain?"

You mentally scream at Yuuji's rude question.

"Well, it is partially true."

Everyone looked at her, confusion evident on their faces.

"There is only one thing I'd do for free."

She said, smirking.

Yuuji blinked at her, curiosity brimming in his eyes.

"And what is that?", he asked.

"Ah, that, you'll get to know the next time you spin the bottle."

The mystery about Mei Mei always drew you in. She was such a beautiful puzzle. And you wanted to solve it. You wanted to be the one holding her at night. You wanted to be the first thing she saw when she woke up.

She was the reason you agreed to attend this stupid party.

A few more rounds were played. Now, it was your turn to spin the bottle. You took in a deep breath, determined to spin it in such a manner, that Mei Mei was at the receiving end, and you at the questioning end.

The bottle spun rapidly, making full circles, until it started slowing down. It inched on, landing to face Mei Mei. You were about to congratulate yourself, until you realized that the broad end wasn't facing you. You internally panicked. This was one of your only chances to get to know her better. And you had gone ahead and screwed it up.

You sighed, looking away.

"I suppose I'll go with truth once again.", Mei Mei said.

A few seconds of silence followed.

"Well, Y/N chan, aren't you going to ask me my question?"

Your head snapped up, confusion clouding your mind.

Your gaze shifted to the bottle, to find it facing you.

You panicked, blurting out a random question.

"Oh! Um.. What is that one thing that you'd do for free?"

You mentally face palmed yourself. Of all the things you could have said, this is what you ended up saying? How stupid-

You choked on your spit, trying to breathe. Did she just... Did you hear her correctly?

Mei Mei giggled at your dumbfound expression. She winked at you.

Maki said, leaning on the balcony's fence.

Maki, Panda, Nobara and Yuuji were hanging around to help their sensei clean up after the party was over. They were currently enjoying the scenic view of the city lights from the balcony, chilling.

"Hah? I didn't do anything! We all saw the bottle spin, didn't we?"

Gojo said, facing his students.

"Oh please, we saw how the bottle tilted abnormally at the end. You used your jujutsu to shift it towards Y/N."

Nobara countered.

Gojo simply smirked.

"Well, it was all for the good. The sexual tension between the two was becoming unbearable."

Panda chipped in.

"What sexual tension?", Yuuji asked, confused.

They all laughed at his ignorance.

"I always do what's right.", Gojo said, winking at his students.

This is probably a bad take-but I've just been seeing more are more negativity in the recent comments regarding sy of both y/n & Gojo. As someone trying to stay neutral while reading.

(1) For y/n, some of yall need to chill out a little. It's not her fault she barely has any control in this situation (referring to that one ask and yn not rejecting a kiss immediately). That and her obvious trauma. I'd probably be just as stressed and confused too. All I know is my girl still needs a lot of healing, probably a "me day" for once.

(2) For Gojo, are we still blaming him for his unintentional actions given his current situation (amnesia) ? I also understand the readers somewhat and know not all accepted his redemption arc. Though, in his perspective, Gojo still thinks everything's okay between them. The whole joking about a baby with another woman (phew), sweetie that wasn't okay. Yet- that's how I felt with that "Mrs. Zenin" joke too. Sure one is going a little too far, but I think both are a little inappropriate even if to lighten the mood.

I hope this all made sense... Of course, still trying to stay neutral as possible. But I'd like to hear other's opinions and maybe yours as well. Thanks for reading anyway if you disagree 💕

OKAY SO some things about CERTAIN technicalities regarding techniques

I think my ONLY issue in the anime is that the power of ones Curse is never really explained properly

How do they develop different kinds

Where does it originate from

How are some people born with curse energies and some arent

Like yuji learns them on the spot and it's a bit jarring bcs as the viewers we're still learning the extent and classes of curses and curse users AND JUST NEW ABILITIES KEEP POPPIN UP all, "there's this cool trick did u know about it?" oh and for the sake of the plot, "i can now totally do this" (ones domain becoming weak from exterior force acting upon it rather than an interior force acting upon it from within) a convenience that popped out of nowhere it makes sense, but wish abilities were explained better, so the build up is more rewarding? the black flash for example, with yujis powerful ability coupled with his curse dragging a split moment behind his initial attack, shouldnt he already be accessing the point-break of his attack colliding with the curse energy of his foe? what i didn't understand is, does one have to focus on that point of collision for it to activate and force ones energy into it? I DONT GET IT I SWEAR IM NOT DUMB unless it's been explained and i completely missed it

the comedy's everything??? megumi and yujis chemistry was so heartwarming and hilarious GOD don't become enemies/rivals pls lmao SPEAKING OF, the times i thought they would esp when yuji surpasses megumi, the anime takes a whole new approach where there's no enmity just healthy acknowledgement of their friends growth and how focusing on themselves better might help them achieve their own full potential, as seen when megumi activates his shadow domain after an eye-opening talk with gojo

such healthy displays of being teammates

after watching animes where two besties start challenging one another so aggressively after one surpasses them, this was just...we see u and we APPRECIATE
