I have had these thoughts bubbling away in my head for like...eighteen months or so now (it will become very obvious why shortly) but the discussion in this post has pushed me to write them down: I think societally we HUGELY underestimate how motherhood for primary caregivers, particularly first-time motherhood, can be a source of vulnerability to radicalisation.

There is obviously huge cultural variance here, but for a lot of cis women becoming primary caregiver to an infant in a capitalist Western society represents a time of immense vulnerability because in general you are:

Incredibly sleep-deprived (which has well-documented knock-on effects for your judgement, mental health, etc)

If you gave birth, recovering from a significant challenge to your physical health (even in the best-case scenario)

Isolated from your previous networks and communities of people in full-time work

Completely separated from the context of your prior career goals and achievements

Under huge amounts of stress to learn how to care for an infant (don't get me started on breastfeeding)

And on top of this, you are also be experiencing a huge amount of messaging about how all this is natural, wonderful, something you're meant to do, something you should love doing, and something that you must do for the welfare of their child. It's a huge amount of pressure and life change even when everything goes right and there's very little cultural space to express negative feelings about it.

Any group of people who offer community, support, and affirmation to cis women in this situation are going to have a really good shot at radicalising them into some very weird and dangerous headspaces and in fact we see this happen all the time - think antivaxxers and TERFs. It flies under the radar because of the hazy positive glow that associates with motherhood and babies and also because we don't take the radicalisation of women seriously I guess because they rarely shoot anybody, but...yeah. It is such a vulnerable time!

it all started again with thinking about wanting to improve art, most of my favorite artists tend to use textured bruh for lines (sometimes it applies only to lines, sometimes it applies to both lines and filling)

so i had to prove myself a point:

And glad I did! It reminded me why I stick to the way I draw (which is comfy and saves me from a lot of stress during drawing process)

But more importantly! I realized in which direction I actually want to move to improve (in current situation it's having steady shapes)

I still have no idea for the end goal tho, as well as I'm still debating textured brushes, which I don't use unless i'm writing text

But that's art journey for you, constant improvement and learning uwu

Hi so UM im not usually someone that puts my personal life out there like at all (which is an amazing feat considering im the oversharer) but I do feel the need to justify my ebegging LMAO

I am back to living with my parents which has been great in comparison to my previous living situation! But now three weeks ago everything took a sudden NOSEDIVE as we tried piecing together why my parent was having a rapid physical and mental decline. Watching someone close to you so suddenly being unable to walk, talk or remember anything in the span of 4 days is a bad experience 1/10 do not recommend !

Thankfully the route we took to get him help has saved us from a lot of medical bills (we think.) but we still lived basically paycheck to paycheck and with my own savings, and now neither of my parents are working, I am unable to work due to transport and disability rn, and money for transportation to and from the hospital, food and house bills is now running really low... so I'd really appreciate any help.

I need everyone upset about Liam's promotion to understand that it had nothing to do with him being better/worse than Yuki. Yuki outperformed him. Yuki deserved the chance. BUT Yuki is not a Redbull driver. He is a Honda driver. He has no loyalty to Redbull and that is why he did not get a chance next to Max. It's not that he didn't deserve it. It's pure business.

Redbull are ending their relationship with Honda. They are creating their own engines. It's likely seen as a big liability to Redbull to have Yuki actively involved in any tests or even near anything involving the 2026 engine.

This is not an attack on Yuki or his character or anything like that, so please do not take it that way. But, Yuki's loyalty to a different engine manufacturer is a major risk to any new manufacturer like the Ford/Redbull powertrain. You just never know. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a good drive, but Yuki's loyalty will forever be to Honda (as it should) and that poses a lot of risks for Redbull.

Once again, I am not commenting on Yuki's character or making assumptions about him when I say this, but there are a lot of big concerns if he gets promoted. He could ditch them for Aston immediately because Honda asks, he could share information about the new engine to Honda, or he could give questionable feedback that negatively impacts the new powertrain. Maybe he wouldn't do these things. But if there's even the most miniscule potential that he could, it would make any team hesitant. F1 is rampant with cheating allegations and questionable tactics to win. The teams will want to protect themselves in any eventuality. And that is what's working against Yuki so greatly.

Yuki has proven to be a very competent driver over the past year, but let's not forget that he nearly lost his seat in 2023 and the rumored reason he stayed is due to Honda. He owes his career to Honda, not Redbull. And at the end of the day, that's his main flaw within this team. It's not his driving. It's not his temper. It's not anything else. It's purely who he is aligned to poltically in the racing world. Is that fair? No. Is that how racing works? Unfortunately, yes.

Thinking again about the fact that when Eddie and Dustin finally convince Steve to play DnD with the party, all of them, but especially Eddie, quickly become exasperated with Steve who has extremely high charisma, and decides that he can fix almost any situation by flirting with whoever they were in conflict with. Especially the fucking monsters, this man is bound and determined to himself a monster boyfriend and until it happens, he will make every single person they come across fall in love with him. So naturally, this happens a lot:

i almost never mention it but it's crucial to me that grace & twitch are both aroace & whatever the hell they have going on together isn't romantic & never will be

twitch doesn't really have any feelings about being aroace-they just Are! they've never felt the need to be anything else. grace is a lot more conflicted, from being raised in an environment that expected his future to involve marriage & children. he didn't want it, and he felt like there had to be something wrong with him because of it. the future was Terrifying as someone who couldn't follow that path

both of their feelings about it are so important to me and it's even More important to me that they both find happiness & a future in eachother & whatever their relationship is, outside of what they're "supposed" to do & feel (even if it is a goddamn trainwreck at the best of times)
