Do you think tim is sexist
I think some of writing is definitely a product of the era, in the nineties, with reflections on the writers like Dixon. Absolutely! But as with older media you have to give them some leeway when it comes to what would be casual-isms, and learn from their mistakes.
And as a point, a lot ‘Tim is sexist’ points come from interactions between him and Steph where he is trying to actively stop her from being a vigilante. His arguments range from her being untrained to that she isn’t in it for the right reasons. And he’s right, she’s bot.
And Tim reasons for being Robin are the most morally solid out there, so for him, her morality is a big issue. Unfortunately that all just gets clumped in with the argumentative statement that she can’t do it because “she’s a girl”. And I think that reflects more on the writers lack of nuance than Tim as a character.
And why would writers do that? So when she does become a vigilante, it’s even more impressive, against the odds, girl power! It’s heavy handed but for there to be conflict there has to be opposition, and due to her lack of support, it had to be Tim.
Tim surrounds himself with women while in the mask and out of it. He learns from Lady Shiva and works with the Huntress and Oracle. He’s been seen working with Catwoman and recently Harley Quinn too.
Unfortunately there aren’t many civilian women he doesn’t have some sort of romantic entanglements with, but again that’s very much a pitifall of the writer. And he comes out of a lot of these relationships with friends
I’m quite partial to the Tim and Tam kiss because it’s very much a ‘Holy shit I’m alive, my blood is pumping, no thoughts head empty’ kind of situation and I, and so many others, like to think that after that Tam goes ‘why did I do that?’ And they both acknowledge it was an adrenaline thing (I’m a sucker for impulsive actions after near death).
He holds a lot of respect for his fellow heroes too, from congratulating Cassie on being leader and his affection for Cass (these comic bros gotta be more creative with their names). Respecting Cissie’s decisions to retire without complaint and even allowing girls into the team that was just initially three guys in a cave. (In this day and age they would of started a podcast!)
You could argue ulterior motives for these decisions but you could do that for anything, after all that’s what anxiety is for! 🫠👍
Do I think he’s sexist? Nah. To me he’s one of the ✨ gals ✨

🌈 Welcome to WLWeek 2024 🌈
Hello everyone, I wanted to put together a nice, low-pressure event dedicated to my fellow wlw self shippers for one week of June because it's pride month, babey!! This is the first time I've ever tried to 'organize' an event, so take it easy on me, I'll try to be as communicative as possible and if anyone has questions about it, asks and DMs are always open!
On to the details! Its gonna last from Monday the 10th through Friday the 14th, and anyone can opt in or out as they see fit! No one is obligated to participate throughout the entire week or from the beginning alone, just do what you feel like!
RULES:
NO PROSHIPPERS/COMSHIPPERS/NEUTRAL, all blogs with that will be blocked on sight!
Obviously don't participate if you're not wlw/not shipping with a female character
Lesbians, bisexual, pansexual, sapphic, and once again general wlw/nblw are welcome!
Essentially I am tolerating NO funny business, and I won't tolerate bullying either so everyone be very niceys and hey, try to support each other! 💖💖💖 now onto the prompt list
Monday June 10th: Favorite style/aesthetic-
draw you and your female f/o in your favorite clothing style (goth, Y2K, cottagecore, etc.) Or what you think their favorite style would be! alt. for writers, write a drabble about going shopping for these outfits with your f/o!
Tuesday June 11th: Morning routine -
draw you and your female f/o getting ready for the day. Who's the early riser and who's dragging them back into bed? alt. for writers, write an early morning cuddle session/chat.
Wednesday June 12th: Date night-
draw you and your female f/o on a date! Is it a dinner, a picnic? Are you guys dressed to the nines or at home in your jammies? Alt. for writers, write a date gone slightly awry. How do you fix things/compromise?
Thursday June 13th: Beach day-
it's summertime, draw you and your female f/o in beachwear and enjoying the sun and sand! alt. for writers, write out a nice dip in the ocean! Can you swim? Can your f/o? Does one have to teach the other? Is it nice and relaxed or does it dissolve into splash fighting?
Friday June 14th: Role/Ship Swap -
draw your f/o as the self shipper and you as the fictional character role they fill! What kind of s/i do they make? Would they write fanfic, draw fanart? Alt. for writers, write a gush post from ur f/o's point of view!
And that's it!! Do one of them, do all of them, or do none of them, it's your choice! I just wanted to show some love to my fellow wlw self shippers out there this month and so something fun for them!
Now if you got this far and you read the rules make sure to put 'great googly moogly' in the tags when u rb! And don't forget to tag my blog here when you write/draw for this event!!! 🫶🫶 everyone who does will get a rb from me and a little promo as well, and maybe even a follow cause I need more wlw mutuals :3

Who are your top 5 (or top 7) favorite (fictional) characters ever from any media? Why love them? Thanks ⭐
i've consumed so much media in my life that this is very tricky. i will do my best!
Ayame Sohma (Fruits Basket)
not only is he silly, funny, and cute, but he's also so so caring. Despite being able to break completely from the influence of the family, he still regularly ventures back in to check on his younger brother. Fruits Basket is full of flawed, 3D characters, but no-one heals the wounds they caused with the enthusiasm and dedication that Ayame does. I am the #1 Ayame defender.
2. Tooru Oikawa (Haikyuu!!)
his very existence is hilarious. he's so convincing as the first antagonist of haikyuu that he often makes it onto 'greatest anime villains' lists, despite just being a teenage jock..? Really, I like him because he's both ridiculous and scary. I LOOOVEEE powerful characters and his serve is insane!
3. Koutarou Bokuto (Haikyuu!!)
astrowaffles fans know I kin this man to hell and back. i like him because he's a total weirdo and not everyone in haikyuu likes him for that, but he never considers being ... normal . He just lives his life and he makes it to TEAM JAPAN to take that haters !!!
4. Nico di Angelo (Percy Jackson)
With great power ..... comes great need to take a nap. Honestly shoutout to Nico, most iconic character of Percy Jackson and yet most disliked by the rest of the cast ?? Nico has a lot of selling points: powers of darkness, never-ending need to help people even when they try to kill him, and GAY! When I was younger I really wanted to hang out with him. Now I want to parent him, since no-one else bothered...
5. Satoru Gojo (Jujutsu Kaisen)
character list without our glorious blue-eyed king? not happening. even though technically Yuta is my favourite jjk character, Gojo will just always be precious to me. he's both pathetic and completely unpitiable. I like him because he's practically all-powerful, but is tripped by his emotions. how many of us could learn empathy at the age of 18 and then go on to rescue like 10 orphans, or the equivalent? and then DIE FOR THEM? he's the moment.
thanks for the ask!

Dungeon Master's Corner
or, the Rules of Engagement for this Blog
Rule #1: Be Respectful. While I might be writing utterly depraved filth as a hobby, I am still a human behind this screen, and harsh words and forceful tones will not make me want to write for you—it will make me want to block you.
Rule #2: My Characters, My Style. While I do take requests, at the end of the day I write what I want and for who I want. How I present those characters is up to my personal discretion, and if you don’t like it, you can walk away.
Rule #3: Patience. Behind the screen, I am a man who works a full-time job that is mentally exhausting, so there may be days or even weeks that go by without a post. If that is upsetting or frustrating to hear, you don’t have to follow.
Rule #4: Preference Gets Priority. While my asks and submissions boxes are always open, I will always be more eager to write for prompts or images that align with the monthly or weekly theme, and leave other posts on the backburner.
Rule #5: Yes’s and Nos of Kinks. This blog primarily writes very explicit erotica, and as such many kinks will be on display. Below is a list of kinks, broken up into which will and won’t be allowed on this blog. If they upset you, please unfollow.
Kinks that ARE ALLOWED:
Monster-fucking
Bestiality
Non-consensual sex
Netorare (Cheating)
Mind-Break
Public / Outdoors sex
Ear/Nipple Fucking
Erotic Asphyxiation
Bimbofication
Hypnosis
Erotic Transformations
Kinks that are NOT ALLOWED:
Pedophilia
Age-play
Diaper-play
Scat/Piss/Fart
Snuff
Gore
Hyper-proportions
Food-play
Obesity
Vore
Rule #6: No Children Allowed. THIS IS NOT A SAFE SPACE. This is a blog dedicated to erotic fiction and fantasy, and is not a place for anyone under 18 years of age. If you aren't a legal adult and you are following this blog, you will be blocked.
Rule #7: Three Strikes. If you follow the rules above, then we'll be fine. If you break any of the preceding rules, though—if you push me about requests, if you nitpick my kinks, or if you try to force your kinks onto me—then you'll get a strike. After three strikes, you will be blocked.
If you have read the entirety of this rules list and are willing to listen and obey them, send "How Do You Want To Do This?" to the ask box. DMs will be ignored.

Info:
List of known Cybertronian Reader-Insert Tumblr Writers (WIP) List of known Cybertronian Reader-Insert AO3 Writers (WIP) Recommended Reads (WIP)
/CR Posts Collected: 580
Recommended method of searching for specific content utilizing this blog: Pick out a writer from the list above, select the spyglass next to 'posts', type in the username of the writer then whatever character and/or 'rating' (modesty panel [sfw] / valveplug [nsfw]) you're looking for. This isn't a fool-proof filtering method, but it's the best I have to offer.
-Hypothetical FAQ-
What’s this blog about?: Reblogging and sharing links to cybertronian (or cyberformed/techno-organic) reader-insert fiction. Posts regarding rare-paired (possibly obscure) canon characters may also pop up once in a while (ex: Mainframe x Jackpot).
Is this an NSFW blog?: Not entirely, but there will be NSFW literature shared around (due to this, I’ll be auto-blocking minors despite barely being an adult myself; irony will be the end of us all.). Sexually NSFW posts will be tagged with ‘valveplug’ while SFW posts (labeled as such for a lack of sexual content - this doesn’t mean they’ll be free of adjacent mature themes) will be tagged with ‘modesty panel’ to make it easier for y’all to find what you want using the blog’s tag search.
I don’t see ‘x’ writer’s; who’s made ‘x’ post; works anywhere on this blog but I know they make related reader inserts-?: Recommend them, then! The ask box is open for more than just questions! Hell, recommend writers/works from external sites (AO3, Fanfiction.net, Etc..)!
Can I become a member?: I’m not really looking for members right now but if you’ve got a blog dedicated to writing /reader-inserts I may consider inviting you if you ask (I won’t go out of my way to ask, so you're gonna’ have to take the initiative here chief). Though, I haven’t thought through how that’d work yet so you’ll probably be left as an option pending until I get.. I don’t know, rules? Sorted out.
What if I’m a writer for the related topics and don’t want my works shared here?: Aye, you just let me know pal’, I’ll remove what references to you I can find and slap your usernames on a blacklist. (In the case of external accounts, I’ll ask for a bit of non-intrusive proof so I know it's you asking and not someone who dislikes you for some reason or another. Ex for AO3 users: A short clip of you scrolling up and down on your dashboard profile while logged in).
Who runs this blog?: @slug-gore-bug / @notoriousslug
Disclaimer: I, slug, won’t be reading through all the posts I reblog before I do so as I lack that kind of time on my slime. If I reblog something ill-fitting of this blog, just lemme’ know and I’ll look into it. On that note, though: don’t bring interpersonal drama to my doorstep. I don’t participate in ‘cancel-culture’; this is a library, not a courthouse, xir.

The problem with multis like you it's not that they like other groups no one cares about that, it's that they always throw bts under the bus to defend their other groups, and that's what you did, you always write about bts but never post anything about their songs or defend them, only when BP is mentioned you threw them under the bus, they're like characters for you nothing more
let's get through your points properly, so that hopefully, this is the last ask I have to answer on the matter.
1) I mentioned, for the 100th time, since this is a freaking BTS BLOG, that the boys have made their mistakes too, but you're still here, clearly, aren't you? and so am I. so, I am allowed to also believe in someone that isn't from BTS, and it's not fair to judge that so harshly. that is NOT throwing anyone under the bus, that is a goddamn fact, but people threw themselves at me and got offended that I dared to mention bts and bp in the same sentence. it was literally an example I used. please don't put words in my mouth. not to mention the audacity of some people to come onto my blog and tell me what I'm "allowed" to say and what I'm not.
2) does this look like a bts fan blog to you guys? dedicated to their gifs, interviews, music? this is a writing blog. dedicated to horror fiction. I don't know how long you've been here, but I've had plenty of conversations back and forth with sweet anons about indigo, our biases, Tae's selfies. I have plenty of beautiful things saved in my likes. I don't even have to explain myself in the first place for what I choose to put on my blog, but I'm tired of this.
3) frankly, do you see me reblogging or talking about bp? I've had a lot to say when flower came out, I was excited for born pink, etc, etc. but again, this is just a fanfiction blog for bts, so I don't say anything.
4) just like I didn't share my excitement for any upcoming debuts or music for bts (besides asks) or bp, I also don't defend them here, you say. look. I see stuff on tiktok. I see Jungkook apologizing for his new piercing. I see Taehyung being fed up with comments on lives. I see Yoongi being tired. I see poor Jimin having to deal with the most awkward and disappointing fancall in the world.
just like I see Rosé being (baselessly, ofc 💖) accused of doing drugs, Jennie getting called lazy all over the place, Jisoo "untalented/stiff" (lmao). have you ever seen me bring any of this up?
no. because first of all, nothing I say here, on this blog that not many people even know exists, is going to either ease their pain, or change anything in their lives, and I always tried to keep this a positive space instead, filled with love and support.
the first and only time I ever defended anyone here was Jennie, but that was because someone came into my inbox attacking her. I would do the same for the rest of the girls, and I would do the same for all of the boys, but there was never a need to before, as no one came here to insult any of them. she got attacked, so I said something. it's literally that simple.
5) this whole drama is the exact reason why this blog remains a fanfiction blog only. everything gets turned into discourse. I have said multiple times I don't involve myself in the fandom because I can't stand all the wars and hatred and delusional behaviors. I have clearly said that I love bp, I love bts, I support them and their music but I refuse to dive into the community, since this is how it looks like.
but even without all that, it's my choice to have a fanfiction blog, my choice what I put on it. if any of you think I don't love the boys just because the blog isn't filled with banners that say that, or because I defended bp, you can keep thinking that and let's part ways.

Okay the fishtank chronicles made a post and as they requested no one directly interact with them on that post I'm going to respect their wishes, but that doesn't mean I have nothing to say about this.
Brief warning going forward, I will be swearing and I may sound aggressive at times. If that is off-putting to you then my blog is not the place for you. It has nothing to do with how "wrong" or "angry" I am, it's simply the way I operate and think.
Firstly, I'm going to start by debunking or at least attempting to debunk one or two of their linked sources. I don't have the time nor patience to debunk them all but I've linked them in case you want to see them and formulate arguments against them for yourself.
Starting off with the 1st article. After giving it a quick read I've decided it's complete and utter bullshit! For those of you who don't have the patience to read it I'll summarize for you. It essentially says that many people experience a phenomenon of hearing a character's voice in their head and feeling like a fictional character.
I'd like to say: this is completely normal and has nothing to do with personality. Oftentimes characters you're attached to will follow you throughout your day-to-day life and they'll be on your mind. Simply day dreaming about a character, imagining them with you, or hearing their voice is not sufficient evidence an alter has formed nor is it grounds to call it "plurality." Though excessive amounts of hearing a characters voice, believing yourself to be them, or fantasizing about them may be indicative of psychotic disorders of MADD.
The other articles are too long for my attention span to allow me to read but if any of you wish to feel free to reblog with your own additions and rebuttals.
We'll start with their first argument against sysmeds: saying that we're cruel, abusive, or exclusionary. While how you view us is up to you and I won't deny many anti-endos engage in harassment I also want you to realise that endos abuse and harass traumagenics too.
Just take a look at tubendos blog and see how many posts they have dedicated to mocking and harassing people. Or this ask @/bitter-bloodbank received. Sure it may only be two examples and not sufficient evidence to prove this is a widespread issue but it does prove my point that endos are just as guilty of harassment and abuse as "sysmeds."
As for the argument that sysmeds are all children I'd like to say that's also bullshit! I'm the youngest anti-endo that I'm aware of? I only have 4 real anti-endos I see often in the syscourse tag or keep up with, two of which being bodily adults and the others bodily 17, just shy of being an adult. I won't get too much into that part though because I don't want this to transform into your word against mine.
But even so, if a ton of sysmeds are young why does that matter? Many endos/endo supporters are also relatively young and endo spaces appeal to a young demographic with their pastel MOGAI-esque themes.
Moving onto your main argument in addressing that sysmeds are largely young. You have no argument here other than "you are hurting people because you're traumatized" which is gross? You're doing nothing but weaponizing our traumas against us and trying to appeal to our feels which is honestly, fucked up. I won't call it manipulative because I'm not that bitch but be aware behaviors like this can be read as manipulative.
Honestly? That whole section felt more infantilizing and condescending than anything. It wasn't an argument, in fact it was nothing more than "oh you poor grumpy baby let's get you a snack and a nap." Like? If you can't formulate a proper argument and need to dumb down the opponent and act like they're some young naive child making mistakes to make a point, maybe don't try making one?
Next, our possessiveness over our spaces. This is just natural? We're a group of mentally ill people who've faced severe trauma, obviously we're going to be possessive of our safe spaces. Being young, or having no control in life has nothing to do with that.
But also if you aren't traumatized yourself or claim to not have trauma or "be different" then you have no business being in this space. It's not meant for you. We have repeatedly asked endos to make their own communities separate from us as they are not the same as us. We don't ask you vanish, we simply ask you move elsewhere.
"A lot of you will feel ashamed of the shit you've said!" Okay, but some of us aren't being hateful? We're simply trying to exist in our own spaces we have every right to. The same can be said of endos. You'll feel ashamed one day when you look back at the harm you've caused to a group of mentally ill people and how you tried to make it aesthetic and palatable. Again, you have no real argument here. You're throwing words at the wall in hopes they stick.
Not to mention comparing a group of literal trauma survivors, many of which are victims of abuse to abusers for not wanting their space invaded and wanting their own safe space is gross. You don't need to empathize with us or even understand us but that does not make it okay to compare us to people who've hurt us.
Our goal is not to destroy others. We want to create a safe space for ourselves and if it means fighting back and hurting those who hurt us, we'll do so. We're not trying to hurt anyone, that's just what endos tell themselves to feel oh-so-holier than thou.
So what have we learned? Some of y'all will really say any shit you want to feel righteous and justified rather than listening and actually attempting to educate yourself on your opponents stance or a trauma disorder.
Also! If your blog has been linked and you wish to have it removed let me know and I'll remove it for you!

So i have some unpopular opinions; i feel like Dutch doesnt sleep around as much as people would like to think. He probably likes the fact that people think that of him, even if its not his style. Also...i dont think Dutch and Molly have any chemistry.
Howdy! (ASK 1 OF 2)
I apologize it took me some time to actually reply to this, especially because it is such a great ask! I definitely agree with both points made here, but I was debating how I wanted to write a response (and how far to take it).
Anyway, I'm open to hearing unpopular opinions! I know I have plenty of my own, so I'm not really one to judge others (as long as there is mutual respect) ☺️
My response is fairly long, and it deals with some sensitive topics. I decided to add a cut to this first ask, just to be safe! 💜💜💜
(Warning: SPOILERS below)
In regard to Dutch sleeping around, there are a few reasons why I don’t think he does it as much as it is often implied/assumed (I’m primarily limiting this to the timeframe of RDR2, Ch. 1-6).
First of all, Molly explicitly says Dutch doesn’t show her a lot of physical attention, even though he is her SO. If he’s not sleeping with her much, I doubt that he is going around with any other women at this time. He seldom leaves camp, outside of doing missions, so it is unlikely that he would meet up with anybody not in the gang. It just doesn’t seem plausible to me, as it would put him in a vulnerable position.
Dutch complains multiple times - including to Molly - that he is under stress and concerned about the Pinkertons closing in on them. Why would he go around outside the camp sleeping with random women? It would put him at the risk of being seen or reported on, and I believe he is smarter than to take on the unnecessary danger. Generally, he doesn’t spend much time in civilized areas, unless he needs to.
Not to mention, stress can be a real inhibitor of sex drive. For the entirety of the game, Dutch exhibits various degrees of anxiety and depression. I believe the gang and his personal safety were of much more concern to him, thus diminishing his interest in sex.
Speaking of the gang, I don’t personally see Dutch as sleeping around with the women in it that much. He did have a relationship with Susan in the past. Whether anything was still going on between them or not is uncertain, but if there was something, it probably was not serious or very frequent. In RDR1, he also suggests that he slept with Abigail, but if this happened, I doubt it would have occurred during the events of RDR2. They hardly ever interacted, and when Abigail did talk about Dutch, it was almost always in a negative manner. Dutch also showed some interest in Mary-Beth. However, I don’t think it went beyond flirting. She didn’t show much interest in him, and I think word would have gotten around if he tried to force anything, especially to Arthur (I am not going to discuss the events of RDR1 in any more detail here because that is a whole different conversation). But other than them, who else in the gang? There were not enough interactions with other women to suggest there was anything between them and Dutch.
Also, sex was considerably more risky in 1899 than it is today, and the means of contraception were not as dependable. For instance, The Pill didn’t go onto the market for another 60 years, and it was more difficult to get ahold of other birth control methods. This was partly because there were not as many technological advancements in this field and because there were a few laws that prevented reliable access to contraceptives (ex: The Comstock Laws). Condoms were arguably one of the easier birth control methods to find, but they still were not as widely available then as they are today (the quality was arguably not as good either). As I understand it, some searching was generally required to get ahold of condoms (usually in more civilized areas, which Dutch tried to avoid).
Dutch is a very contradictory character. My point in bringing up birth control is because although on some level I think Dutch probably would have liked to have actual children, I do not think he was serious enough about it to take any risks that might have led to an unwanted pregnancy during the timeframe of RDR2. As I mentioned, he was under a lot of stress with the gang. A biological child on top of that most likely would have overwhelmed him, and it would have required a long-term commitment to not only the child, but to the mother as well. I believe Dutch was smart enough to recognize this danger, and since birth control methods were not as widely available or reliable, he would not have wanted to sleep around too much (unwanted pregnancies were relatively common during this era).
I’ve written in the past that I believe Dutch had a certain degree of self-consciousness underneath his pride, so I do agree that he probably would have liked people finding him attractive or seductive. These traits emanate a sense of power and confidence, which would have provided a more favorable presentation of himself to others. These perceptions certainly would have helped to conceal his own self-doubts and insecurities, so he would have welcomed them, rather than try to refute them.
Now, in regard to the chemistry between Dutch and Molly, I agree. I think it was a pretty bad relationship all around. I don’t see its flaws as being entirely one-sided.
I will get into this a little more on the next ask, but I will discuss a few things here first.
Starting with Dutch, I will admit that he could have treated Molly a lot better. Even if he wasn’t happy with her or the status of their relationship, he should have seriously talked to her more. She deserved that, at the very minimum. There were a few instances where she tried to get his attention, and he just brushed her off. Again, like I said, even if he wasn’t very keen on the relationship anymore, he should have at least been honest about that. Then, as I already discussed, he had some mildly flirtatious conversations with Mary-Beth. I certainly do not think this helped matters. It was rude the way he insulted Molly for bringing up his interactions with Mary-Beth and how he pretended he had no idea what Molly was talking about.
Onto Molly, I don’t think she was perfect either. I know Dutch didn’t talk with her nearly as much as he should have, but she didn’t seem to show a whole lot of support for him in return. Dutch expressed that he was feeling stressed and not up to much physical activity, to which she got quite upset. She seemed to turn some arguments towards herself and her needs, with little regard for Dutch’s wellbeing. I do think she was selfish for demanding him to give her something he did not want to give/could not provide. Also, she refused to help the gang find leads or assist with chores, even when told to do so by others (ex: Dutch and Arthur). She tended to act above everybody else, claiming she wasn’t a servant to the needs of the gang as a whole. Though I can respect her sense of independence in that regard, it did show a sense of entitlement. Even Dutch donated to the gang funds, and as the leader, he was the one responsible for overseeing the vast majority of missions they engaged in. Molly was the only person who really did not contribute much. (Side note: Even UNCLE - the laziest bastard in the West - helped with leads and contributions!!)
I will get into this more in the following ask, but although I know she loved Dutch to an extent, I think part of her fascination with him was rooted in infatuation. Little is known about her background, but it is canon that she came from a wealthy and influential family in Ireland. I think part of the reason why she liked Dutch so much was because of the powerful position he held. She frequently lashed out at people who she perceived as challenging the reality of her “love” for him, such as Abigail and Karen. In one instance, Molly even went so far as to slap Karen across the face because she thought Karen was talking negatively about her. There was no evidence to prove or disprove Molly’s beliefs, but it did show that she was pretty sensitive about criticism (whether it was perceived or real) in regard to her relationship with Dutch.
Now, Dutch was wrong to use Molly’s fascination with him and his role in the gang to seduce her. But like I said, both of them had their issues. It was just a bad situation from both sides, and I do not think it should have happened in the first place. I don’t necessarily blame one more than the other. To be honest, I think they each deserved someone who fit them better.
And if I am being even MORE honest, I think Dutch should have stayed with Susan. She loved him, and he made a big mistake in ever giving her up. I believe the events of RDR2 would have turned out very differently, had he kept her closer.
(Ending note: Outside of serious posts - like this one - I know I make quite a few jokes about Dutch on my blog in regard to sexuality, but I do not mean for much of what I say in that regard to be taken *too* seriously. I don’t particularly want to discuss my personal life in the text of this post, but I will say that even if Dutch was a person I knew in real life, I’m not sure I would seriously want anything to happen between us. However, that is another matter entirely that has nothing whatsoever to do with him. I absolutely LOVE his character to death, and my blog will remain dedicated to his role in the RDR story for as long as I am around! That is all that should matter!!!)
Also, it is perfectly fine and normal to separate fiction from reality! It is okay to alter interpretations of Dutch (and/or Molly) for the sake of artistic expression, as long as the reasons can be justified. Furthermore, it is fine to disagree with me!!
I just hope this response gave you a thing or two to consider. Thank you again for sending your message in!! 💜💜💜

I often see multis post that they want to make a new muse, at the same time as they're backed up on threads and asks, and they get their followers to "enable" them to make that muse in the post replies. What is your take on this? Is it a they-can-do-what-they-want situation, or is it reasonable to be annoyed when I see this? Or both?
Hey, Anon!
Both.
I mean, as usual, this is my opinion of an opinion-based matter. This isn't an equation that has an objectively right to wrong scale, it isn't actually hurting any living person or thing. But...it is incredibly annoying and can be hurtful.
They can totally do what they want, and much of the nature of genuine creativity is exactly that - the allowance of doing whatever you so desire. It's something I support rather adamantly, but it's also something I support trying our best to do responsibly and without being hurtful to anyone in a hobby that involves more than ourselves.
This isn't deciding to write another fic when you've not finished the previous four or five that others were interested in, or never finishing any of your original fiction, but continually starting new projects. While others might be enjoying those things as well, you didn't agree to interact with them. They're audience members, not participants.
When others are participants in a hobby that has to work both ways, it's different. Your actions do affect other, real human beings.
So, I totally feel like you've a right to be annoyed every time you see that happening. I do. I tend to unfollow people who do that repeatedly, as we're not pursuing the hobby in the same way. I'll argue all day that someone has a right to their, sometimes literally, eighty-plus muses they never develop or stick to, but that doesn't mean I want to engage with them as a writing partner.
For those of us who want long-term writing partners with the same, well-developed muses, this kind of thing just is annoying. As is everything else that comes with it.
As in...
They're constantly posting "talk me out of adding x" as code for "talk me into writing x."
No one actually wants to be talked out of it, which was probably more obvious to everyone else here than it was me for a little while lmao I tend to take things rather literally. This was, as one can imagine, not appreciated! Telling someone in total earnestness, "I really don't think that's a good choice. You're always saying how overwhelmed you are and just dropped multiple threads yesterday, so adding another muse is going to make you feel worse eventually. Don't do it! :)" is so not what they were looking for. As was evident by the return meltdown over how they could do what they wanted, like I said they couldn't or had any authority over what they're doing with their time.
It's an obnoxious bit of pandering for a foregone conclusion.
Have you ever seen anyone who posts that sort of thing not pick up that muse? I haven't. I've only seen muns who are legitimately on the fence about it asking others in private conversations or testing out the muse decide against it. The thing that makes this incredibly irritating is the attention-seeking and need to validate something they must know isn't a great choice, otherwise, they'd just do it. They're aware that they're behind on drafts, asks, and other things - aware that this is maybe a dick move when they owe everyone already. So, they're seeking "permission" with full knowledge that multiple mutuals are going to hop on that post with encouragement, even some of the ones being messed over by this choice.
It puts people in a bad situation.
Some of those people genuinely don't care, they just want to interact with any muse, and I'm going to be awful and say it - they don't care about totally interchangeable muses and have them themselves. That's fine, this isn't a problem for them. It is for the mutuals who are hoping that maybe if their writing partner gets into this new muse, they'll get a reply to their threads with that energy, or that they'll stick to this one and they can have consistent interactions with them. It is for the mutuals who feel pressured to respond positively because they fear not responding at all will make them seem like bad rpers.
One more thing playing into the counter logic excuse for shitty behavior of "it's just a hobby" is one more thing too many, and it does exactly that.
No one wants to be accused of being remotely too invested in RP anymore, of taking it too seriously, or having any emotional investment in muses, stories, or muns. Not accepting every choice someone makes that negatively impacts you with a grin on your face while you dump confetti on them for it just isn't a comfortable option for a lot of muns anymore. Honesty isn't a comfortable option. While the other option isn't either, it seems better than that mutual noticing you're the only writing partner who didn't hop onto that post with support any of the multiple times they reblogged it. It's only a hobby in which everyone can do what they want until what one wants clashes. Then, you're getting a callout for being addicted to RP.
And the way it tends to clash most is in having expectations of others. Ones that would be totally normal in any other hobby requiring interaction with other people.
Like not overburdening yourself at the expense not only of yourself but those on your "team." That's what is being done when someone knows they cannot keep up with themselves, but continues to add to the situation with new muses.
Not only are you no longer getting responses already while they're intending to add even more to their overflowing plate, you'll be dropped again when they have to "fresh start" their blog because they're burned out.
I have to put that in quotations because I don't know how it's a fresh start when you keep everything but the blog layout the same. All the muses and all the behaviors, including adding a new one despite not having the time or interest necessary to do so, is inevitably maintaining the problems that led to burnout. Dropping every thread, changing the URL, a new blog layout, new aesthetics, isn't fixing the issue even if it temporarily reinvigorates the mun.
The mun is definitely doing things that are not helpful to them, it's stressful and upsetting to experience burnout, but it's at least that mun's choice. Both to do it and to become defensive over fixing it, thus, never fixing it. It isn't anyone else's choice to be repeatedly dropped or ignored, though...unless they just keep sticking around for it.
Again, we're supposed to respect everyone's choices. That's fine when it really works that way, when it is truly everyone. But it's not an acceptable decision to see a multimuse of twenty or more muses and say that's your limit, that you've experienced too many muns who are serial muse-adders not being able to keep up with themselves, so you don't interact with these blogs. If one feels that way, they had better not put it in their rules or ever be upfront about this as a reason, when one is demanded, for not following back or interacting.
It's not acceptable to see a writing partner adding another muse after they've owed you for months, just wiped their inbox, and keep expressing being overwhelmed/behind and become annoyed. Let alone dropping them or explaining to them why you are doing so.
The only "acceptable" course of action is hoping that they totally forget you exist so you can quietly slip away.
I don't feel like that's especially fair or mature. It certainly isn't helping the communication problem we absolutely do have here in the RPC when only one party is allowed to communicate without fear of being labeled, rather ironically, as a bad RP partner.
While this problem seems to be most prevalent in more casual RPers, it's certainly not isolated there. I feel like it's necessary to say that I've had muns I both interacted with and were simply on my dash alike who were not on that more casual side who went from being multis to being muse collectors. Once they hit over fifteen of them or so, they stopped even bothering to try to refrain from picking up at least one muse from every new piece of media they consumed or were inspired by.
It was more annoying because they had been capable of writing truly unique characters they stuck to, and even if they were, with full and upfront admission before interaction, slower to respond, those responses were well worth any wait for the quality of writing and storytelling going on. That's so much worse than someone who was always at a lower skill level as a writer, didn't have a good grasp on characterization, and wasn't especially dedicated to anything. It's depressing and disappointing, but it's also not what you think you're getting into when trying to carefully pick who to write with. Like everyone else, my time to enjoy this hobby is far from twenty-four-seven as well. It's important to me to try to choose muns I'll work out with well so that neither of us is wasting the other's time. And that's what it feels like - the investment of time was a waste because their hobby became adding infinite muses, or rather, the idea of muses.
So, yes, while it is fully everyone's right to write what and how they want to (even if it amounts to not writing at all), it'd be nice if we were all as committed to doing so in a way that was adult enough to respect commitments we've made to each other as we are, as a RPC, to losing our minds when someone merely drops the words "commitments" or "respect."
For the inevitable muse-collectors running across this:
Fiction is inspiring! That doesn't mean you needn't be inspired by anything, just that picking up or creating a whole other muse might not be the best way to follow this inspiration.
If you're considering another muse, but you find yourself already behind and/or overwhelmed? Try one of these instead:
create a plot based on it! Write up the idea and put it in your wanted plots/wishlist tag. Bring it up to partners you think might be interested in it as well, or seek out a crossover from that fandom
make it a new verse for an existing muse! This is as close as you get to creating a new muse without actually doing so, and in many ways, it takes even more creativity. How is your muse different in this AU than they are in canon, how are they the same? In the ways that they are the same, what similar events but done in a way that is natural/logical to this universe have happened to maintain that? Get really creative!
for either/both of these, make some moodboards and aesthetics with that energy while you're waiting on someone to take you up on these new things. Answer some HC asks or tag games using your new verse, or write an independent HC for the verse or plot
talk to writing partners who already love that muse about their new verse/your desired plot! No, not pressuring talk, just normal conversation between friends, but maybe they will be interested in starting a thread
simply be inspired to include some aspect of what you liked in an existent thread. A particular scene you could pull ideas from, the overall mood of a film, or the way something was written in a book - include that in your replies somehow! RP is creative writing, be creative
There are so many, honestly more organic, directions to take inspiration than bluntly adding a new muse. Especially when you're already overburdened, not holding up your end of replies, and/or not able to portray each muse as their own character properly.
Sometimes, it's not just not a great idea to add a whole new muse, and that's alright. There seems to be a serious problem with fomo going on with this whole issue, too. You're not going to miss out if you do not immediately add this character to your multi, and you're never going to fully keep up with what is trending anyway. Do it because you still want to write this muse in four months instead, they're obviously not going anywhere if that's the case, and they'll be a better developed, interesting portrayal for that.
And people do have a right to be annoyed when they feel sidelined by you seeing a shiny object and repeatedly pandering for validation in dropping them for it. Particularly if you're a mun who, further, expects everyone to be just as interested in every new muse you make as the last. As in, you're annoyed when you keep creating muses no one is falling over themselves to interact with, guilting, shaming, or outright demanding that this new muse is interacted with before they have access to the previous ones.
They don't have a right to be mean you to, but they have a right to be annoyed and to drop you. They even have a right to politely decline explaining this to you if they feel unsafe, or to politely explain it to you before they move on.
Absolutely everyone's right to pursue RP and every facet of it as they so please, but no one else has to like what you're doing.
If this response grates on some of you out there? Consider the other options you have, how you might be making others feel, and that it's actually completely okay to tell yourself no. You won't perish if you tell yourself no to taking on a new muse when you, honestly, should not! It'll be okay! Maybe, you just need to evaluate if there is another muse, or more than one, you should remove before adding one. Maybe, you just need some time to reorganize how you reply before you add this one. "No" when told to yourself can simply mean "no, not right now, it isn't a good time/situation."

I Have Too Many Opinions. ep. 1
lmao. i got encouragement to post my opinions on fandom things and now i want to make a miniseries doing just that. so here i am. doing just that.
im putting it under the cut cuz this was 4 whole pages including the disclaimer. yes i put a disclaimer and i explain why.
Anyways, here is the first piece in what inevitably will become fandom info dump, this time on thomas astruc’s writing on miraculous ladybug. but only some of my opinions cuz we would be here all day otherwise.
So… a disclaimer before I begin…
I do not hate Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir (yes i'm using their government name). I am quite a fan of the show actually despite its faults. I am also older than the intended audience but was obviously younger when the show first aired which is how my interest was piqued (the fact that its been 6 years and only 3 seasons says more about the show than me being a fan for that amount of time but also i never want to rush content creators cuz they're doing their best) and due to my age, there will be inherent bias in my approach of what i'm about to say as there is in EVERY opinion. The fact that it is an opinion should imply the presence of bias but most people tend to lack the critical thinking skills required to draw that conclusion ANYWAYS…
If I did hate the show I would not have this blog nor would I be even writing this because i tend to not give more than 2 seconds of thought to things i actively dislike (some of yall should give this a try) and i'm allowed to like things that are designed for an audience that i was originally a part of but grew out of. (I don't suddenly stop liking things because I'm older despite what many younger fans seem to believe about older audiences. I also don't need to be ‘allowed’ to do anything cuz i wasn't asking for permission anyways.)
This will not be character bashing, astruc bashing nor fandom bashing cuz, again, that would imply i hate any of those elements and if i did, i would not dedicate brainpower to them. Analyses and criticisms of media are fun and engaging and required if you wish to produce good enjoyable content. Now most of this should be already assumed and self-explanatory but people on the internet like to play morality roulette roll dice on purity culture and I rather have documentation that I am in fact not bullying fictional 14 year olds or a grown man. But alas, people get trigger happy whenever someone has less than 1000000% positive opinions on something they like and will throw out words they can't define (gaslight, baiting, toxic, problematic, gatekeep etc) in an attempt to defend their blind devotion,
which is not needed, if you like something you never have to defend it, even if i don't like it. If you respond to anything I post saying you disagree with me, I will not argue with you. I won't debate back and forth and try to convince you that the things you like are wrong. Unless you are being absolutely tone deaf to what i'm saying, you wont get a negative reaction from me. So don't try to fish for a fight. Please. I got metaphorical hands for days and I'm mean, you don't want me hurting your feelings on the internet. Do yourself the favour. Difference of opinion is how we get diversification in media and is inherently a good thing. Now that that's out of the way, please don't ever let me have to say that again. I beg.
Now onto the fun stuff
I didn't know what I wanted as a first topic so my trusty internet friend @moonlitceleste suggested astruc’s writing…
AND BOI do i got some opinions on ole tommy boi. Again I don't hate the dude. In fact, he has worked on a few shows that had defined my childhood, including but not limited to W.I.T.C.H. (all eps available on youtube for those interested, 2 seasons, general fun time all around).
So I don't think he’s scum of the earth but I do think his approach to writing mlb specifically has more misses than hits.
The first big miss is that he has no idea how to write 14 year old girls. At all. Almost every girl he has ever written feels like some terrible archetype built entirely for marketability and childish projection and pubescent self-insert (kind of). He has never been a 14 year old girl. I have. In fact when the show first aired, I WAS around the (assumed) age of the mlb characters. The behaviour he passes off as quirky or awkward or just the character’s genuine personality tend to perpetuate harmful stereotypes of teen girls found in the media and are never actually addressed as harmful. they just get swept under the rug. Marinette’s exuberant collage of teen heart throb model boi Adrien Agreste and her very painful almost fan worship she has of him (which flip flops like a paper sandal in the rain) being portrayed as a cute school girl crush uwu, Chloe being the y7 Regina George, Alya being the token best friend of colour with her ‘sassy’ personality (i want y'all to imagine me eyerolling so hard i bust a vessel in my eye), Kagami being the very damaging Perfect Asian Child stereotype. And before y'all get on your dusty soap box and defend going on about “BUT IT'S FOR CHILDREN”,,,, know this.
i don’t give a solid fuck.
Not one.
Children arent stupid. Children are always going to remember the richy bitchy blonde who bullies the art kid, and the big kid, and the shy kid, and the non white kids, and was only nice to her equally rich white friend who she probably had a crush on or was only ever civil to her equally white lapdog. They're going to remember the half asian girl who was never allowed to actually be asian or the only black girl who existed solely as a soundboard for enabling bad habits or chastising the main character for the same habits she enables in the first place (boi aint THAT a topic for later). Like do i really need to explain that alya chastising marinette for taking max’s spot in gamer just to play with adrien rings absolutely hollow when she actively encourages her to sabotage the contest she’s in just so Kagami doesn't win?? Like I don't have to explain that right?? Again kids arent stupid and its quite something that Mari gets chastised for proving herself the best video game player regardless of her intentions just cuz it comes at the expense of max’s feelings/ego but is actively encouraged to sabotage not only kagami but herself by extension cuz kagami is ‘competition.’ Adrien is not a trophy to be won. And no I don't expect 14 yrs old to be perfect and to always make good decisions but these decisions are never addressed as being bad decisions. they get swept under the rug cuz those decisions were necessary for the ‘plot’ but astruc can barely keep characterization consistent and his characters suffer for it and it's the same children you preach are watching it that suffer as well. Cuz guess what? I KNOW 14 yr olds aren't like that cuz i've been there done that (this is the last time i'm saying that i promise) so I know astruc is just metaphorically throwing darts to figure out who says and does what without consideration for pre established personalities to drive the stalemate plot along. The same kids you say are watching this don't know that that's not how preteens work and will absorb and internalize those dynamics like baking soda and vinegar. Cata-fucking-strophically.
And I haven't even gotten to the boys yet. Which honestly doesn't require much explanation anyways cuz they suffer the same fate as the girls. Tired archetypes with nothing to give them life. Nino falls into Adrien’s person of colour token best friend who dates the female lead’s person of colour token best friend so they can have cute double dates uwu. Except the plot goes nowhere and we have no inclination of romantic development beyond moments that only act to actively convince me to anti ship the lovesquare (i don't want to do that so i self indulge in fanon that actually cares about the characters and plot. may i interest you in True Sight on AO3?). Max is the residential nerd but it doesn't matter (cuz he and everyone are dumbed down for the sake of ‘plot’), kim is the sports jock (which interestingly subverts the asian comedic relief stereotype but only barely) and luka is cute older guy ™ that wears black nail polish and is in a band. The point of all this is to say there is no depth in the characters. It's especially blatantly obvious with the characters astruc doesn't like (chloe). Again, it being a show for kids is not an excuse to be absolved of putting effort into the characters you make.
This is one of the biggest misses astruc has. I haven't even gone into all the nuances of this particular miss. And i havent gone into how that works against him in the plot either. Mostly because the plot itself hasn't gone anywhere and partially because I wanted to go into the plot (or lack thereof) separately as its own miss.
AND BOI is it a miss.
SO home boy astruc wanted to reap the benefits of a serial show with ‘engaging’ plot without putting in any of the work to make a linear storyline and relying on the episodic format for, again, marketability. You can't have the best of both worlds, you are not Avatar: The Last Airbender. Which btw has a lot less episodes and a desired end goal that didn't involve top dollar. Legend of Korra did but that's not the point and it had its failings with that too. I challenge you, tell me how many episodes actually contribute towards a plot point or introduce new thematic elements to the show? Can you name them? I can and I'm going to include the plot points that moved the story in some direction if only temporarily. Yes only temporarily for some of these and i will explain later. (if you're in the server you already saw this list *wink*)
25/26. Origins- self explanatory, the beginning of the story,
24. Volpina- introduction of the grimoire and Master Fu (kind of) and no, Lila is not a plot point,
28. The Collector- proper introduction of Master Fu,
37. Sapotis- introduction of Rena Rouge,
41. Syren- introduction of new aquatic power ups,
44. Anansi- introduction of Carapace,
47. Frozer- introduction of new ice power ups,
48/49. Style Queen- introduction of Queen Bee,
51/52. Heroes’ Day- introduction of Mayura and mass akumatization,
66. Startrain- introduction of Pegasus,
67. Kwami Buster- Marinette wears multiple miraculouses,
68. Feast- backstory as to how the miraculouses were lost,
69. Ikari Gozen- introduction of Ryuko,
70. Timetagger- introduction of Bunnyx,
71. Party Crasher- introduction of Roi Singe and Viperion,
73. Chat Blanc- alternate timeline that essentially means nothing but got a reaction out of fans anyways (myself included)
77/78. Love Eater/Battle of Miraculous- Marinette becomes guardian and other heroes lose their miraculous,
New York Special- other heroes exist and there is an American miraculous box,
That's 21 episodes. 21 out of a heaping 78 plus 2 specials. Everything else was just your typical akuma of the day episode and everything that happened outside that had no lasting consequences on the plot thanks to the miraculous status quo. Was it entertaining to watch Lila stir the plot of the class dynamic? Hell yeah. Too bad it meant nothing by the end of the episode cuz we were struck with miraculous status quo. She literally doesn't appear again until Heroes Day. that is from episodes 25 all the way to 51, she means nothing and yet she is treated with the severity of a b-villain/rival thing. She means nothing by the end of Volpina if I'm being honest. She is only relevant for 20 mins of episode time she’s in then it's back to magic status quo that undoes any shift in dynamics and relationships. It's like Spongebob who can't get his driver’s license. The worst part is I actually like Lila and I wish the story treated her with the seriousness we as an audience are expected to treat her with. Despite being painfully inconsequential by the end of each of the 3?? 4?? episodes she’s in, it's entertaining to watch a character create drama just because.
Too bad it means nothing.
Astruc is constantly building up suspense to something ‘important’ only for it to not deliver and fans are constantly having the rug pulled out from under us. Oblivio teased us with a reveal only that gets undone cuz memory akuma. Chat Blanc teased us with romantic development but that gets undone cuz time travel bullshit. Feast introduced more miraculous lore and the history of the guardians but that means nothing by the next episode or ever (i'm not including any reference to the season 4 trailer cuz i've been around the block a few times and im familiar with this lil dancy dance). Heroes Day teased us with a possible future team of heroes but that gets undone in Battle of Miraculous cuz ????? why?? (here's why; astruc was having a jolly ole time letting us know how irredeemable Chloe is at the expense of shooting his own stagnant plot in the foot. Again, discussion for later.)
Too bad anything that slightly swerves off course from the akuma of the day gets undone or ignored. Too bad nothing has any lasting consequence. I mean, if anything did, the episodes would have had a consistent order and release schedule so im not scrambling to watch the leaked ep in Portuguese or something while the french dub is two episodes behind while the english version hasnt even been dubbed. I really wonder how he plans to conclude the show when he’s so afraid to step out of the corner he painted himself in.
Again, not going into nuances. If you want you can ask for more specifics (i doubt anyone would) but this is really just a slightly detailed general overview of my opinions on astruc’s writing.
I was going to include another miss in his approach to this show but imma save that for another time.
How’s that for a ‘first’ post?

OOC: Wow wait for a moment ... 30 followers? AAH Sorry, moments like these give me happy moments kj;asldfkh QQ
Even if the numbers are small, 30 actually means a lot especially for this character. I have never thought I would reach this many for Luze. He’s SO underrated and literally not well known! And the amount of followers I get for him just makes me a bit gushy. I know, weird ... But I do appreciate it! <3 Thank you all so much for the Asks, too! I never thought I would receive so many! I will put a border down below just because I also want to say something more to you guys if you don’t mind. But for those who just wanted to see a few words, I can’t express my gratitiude to you all still active, especially in the Uraboku Community!
I will do my upmost ability to bring you more Luze and some of Luka content!
Notes to Navigate my Page: Hello, newcomers!
I just want to leave a note here just in case people are lost or don’t know where to even look. Next to his icon image, there is a Navigation tool.
Luze Crosszeria and Gale Spider (Mun) Hey it’s me and Luze Crosszeria! If you want to read more about Luze, here is his page along with my Mun page. Now you know who is behind this blog.
Fortress Gallery (Art by Mun), #Gale Spider As you can tell, the title says it all. This is all the art I have done about Luze only. So feel free to check it out!
Undocumented Files, #Unheard Words This section is all the stories/fanfiction I typed that involve around Luze Crosszeria or Other’s perspectives that involve Luze. There are also little messages like this one as well. Some characters are present to make his stories more compelling and shows how I think he would react to different settings and events depending on who he is with or what has happen. It makes me bring out his personality more and I still hope that I can convey it properly through these stories! Terminology for Luze can be seen here
Aesthetics, #In the Mind of the King A fun little section that revolves around looking what’s inside Luze’s mind from what he has seen, or what his thoughts are like. Some may be cherishable to him, some may be traumatic from his experience. Whatever it may be, feel free to look through from his past, present sightings, thoughts, or possessions.
Fragments, #Fragments of the Past This section involves his actual appearance in both the Anime and Manga. Kind of a dead section considering I have found most images or GIFs that consists of Luze. There are some I made to bring out more of his appearance. I might just compile more images if I can from what they have. All rights clearly belong to the creators of Uraboku/Betrayal Knows My Name.
Letters from Others, #Answered Letters A page dedicated to the Asks I received from Anons or other bloggers. There are some Character Memes located here too. I am legit surprised from the amount of Asks I got from you all though. I would have thought I would just do little by little, once in a blue moon, but it’s a good amount nonetheless! Thank you all so much for letting me at least bring him out more QQ. Feel free to drop any Asks or Comments (or written letters in this case) to him!
Hashtags:
Honestly, this layout took me awhile to get used to. I am not so knowledgeable nor creative with Tumblr at all and still learning as I go! If you want to look for specific hashtags, click on the ellipsis right above the post. There are specific Hashtags that follow the links above, or other characters if you want to look at that corresponds with Luze. I will add more if there are more characters.
#Forsaken Twin = Luka Crosszeria #Dearest Leader = Reiga Giou (Kanata Wakamiya) #Precious Light = Yuki Giou (The Light) #Zweilt Guardians (TBA) = The Zweilts #Little Companion = Sodom #Lord of All = Lucifer #Reiga’s Affiliation = Cadenza, Elegy
#Otherworldly Beings = Crossovers
I wanted to say that I am glad that I had the opportunity to open this blog for him just for the fun of it. But it’s becoming something on the side that I also enjoy doing once in awhile every time I hop on Tumblr.
I used to be into FFXIV content but that crave got waaay too over the top for me as I see everyone I played with kind of is ... Over-the-top-hyped, especially on Twitter. It honestly killed my mood to the point where I had to step away from the “Craziness” by a large margin and enjoy it my own way. And from Twitter, mind you.
But it wasn’t until Luze Crosszeria came across. He made me realized, I could do my own thing. I don’t need to be caught up with everyone. Just go on your own pace. Do what you love, and don’t follow the trend but your own different path. Dare to be different rather than be the same.
I felt pressured to be caught up with everyone in FFXIV because I had raid and many artists did so much crossovers with their own characters with other trending games coming out. Honestly, I did that for awhile. But whenever I tried to, I just never feel any opportunity to finish or start it. It’s just something about drawing FFXIV characters that get to me. I don’t know what it is, but I would only draw my Au Ra, Krowell Raggs because he was already based off of another character, Ayanami from 07 Ghost. Maybe I am not original enough.
Maybe I am just a sucker for other existing characters that look compelling or have so many relatable aspects towards my life situations. If they don’t have that much background information, it’s always fun to find hints or other canon/non canon things about them. Maybe even go deeper onto how they will react or progress through situations. It began with Ayanami from 07 Ghost, where I would do so much fanart of him because of that relation and his story was tragic even though it wasn’t strongly brought out. But you can tell from his emotions, how he reacts to other people, and how he became to be. I was conflicted of doing FFXIV and 07 Ghost art at the same time. However, as I said, Luze was introduced in my imaginations/stories and he completely removed my thoughts of raiding, being caught up, and backing away from something I really never put my mind into.
And I am very grateful for him persuading me to. Even though this seems like an internal thought thing, and he may be a fictional character, but I always look back to where I first discovered him and think, “Man. Luze was the one who started it all: Stop raiding to have my own downtime. Draw what you want and NEVER feel forced to. Focus on your own interests and play other games that you love rather than where everyone is at times.” Trust me on the last bit. I still need to get through Othercide.
Anyway, I know I have said this many times but I don’t know what else to do to express my gratitude. Thank you so very much for following this blog! It truly means a lot that I am able to bring this little known character to life. Would I use different web formats to bring him out more? Who knows! Still considering if I should relocate my stories to different writing sites!
In the mean time, I will try my best to keep up Luze here for you all. And for those who are Luka fans, I will also try my best to let that happen! Love you all! And remember, to love each other! <3

Just bcos u PERCEIVE SessRin as something that promotes pedophilia and grooming doesn't mean that's how the author portrayed it. It's disappointing to see that antis force such idea, as if they know what's inside Rumiko's mind. It is fine if u find sessrin cringey. Just don't force your idea of pedophilia and grooming as THE CORRECT PORTRAYAL OF SESSRIN.
Hello there, nonnie! You had quite the party in my ask box, I see. Breaking it up in parts may actually help me get to the point and address your concerns swiftly and accordingly. Here goes nothing. 😉
This answer is for your first two asks by the way. Firstly, you're putting words in my mouth because I do not view Rumiko as an author who promotes pedophilia and child grooming and never have. She never once placed an ounce of romance into their scenes. Rin was essentially introduced to serve as a catalyst for Sesshomaru's character growth. That's major in and of itself, which is why I'm not sure why she needs to be the mom on top of all that she's already done for him. It was you, Sessrin shippers, who had to go and make it romantic, not us. It was you who took every innocent scene and turned it into a romantic one. You'll even use some of their scenes as proof they will end up together, then back-pedal later and say those very same scenes weren't romantic in order to protect the sanctity of your ship. I mean, which is it? It can't be both, it's either one or the other.
I repeat, NO we don’t actually think Rumiko wanted to portray this relationship with pedophillic or grooming tendencies. It's you shippers who insist there is no other way for their relationship to evolve, as if you speak on behalf of Rumiko. Your interpretation of Rumiko's work is what implies child grooming; she may not be condoning it but your perspective sure is. You talk down to antis who disagree, because in your opinion, your interpretation is not only superior but already canon in your eyes. You're doing a disservice to this fandom by spreading false information like that when you try to pass it off as official. So if it's anyone that assumes they know what goes on inside Rumiko's head, it's YOU. Somewhere down the road in the (un)foreseeable future, it's you who changes course since remember we were all in agreement at the beginning that their relationship wasn't romantic. So what did I miss? Please break it down for me and explain what exactly influenced you to change your mind, then describe in detail how again this transition in their relationship magically came to be. It's you who came to that decision on your own- nobody helped you get there, and certainly not Rumiko (as you said yourself). The user boycottyashahime put it better than I did, so here is the link to their post. I highly recommend you read it if you haven't already. I urge you to keep an open mind about it while reading, too. You may not like what they have to say, but there's no denying they make excellent points all the same.
I'm pretty sure I catch your drift, but can you clarify if you're referring to historical context or cultural context? I suppose both can be applied here. haha Anyway, from what I gather, you believe that fans should be on board with the idea of Sessrin and at the very least tolerate the pairing. Whether they ship it or not, you believe this simply for the fact that the story takes place in the feudal era and couples with a similar relationship back then were more than acceptable. The thing is, we may be transported to Feudal Japan in this story but we're still taking our modern day morals with us for the trip. I have a whole ass blog dedicated to the significance of fiction in real life (convienently pinned on my page) if you wanna check it out. I also discuss what age-appropriate content is and isn't for Inuyasha viewers in this recent ask here that I find is also pretty relevant to the convo.
Alrighty, moving onto your next point. I can't stress enough to you guys that this isn't a mere Caucasian vs. Non-Caucasian dilemma. I'm a POC, so I ask that you please not presume to know things about me you couldn't possibly know unless we met or I shared it with you. In fact, many of the other antis I frequently chat with are POCs like myself. So for all that's good and holy, please stop ignoring us when we say: THERE ARE FANS IN JAPAN WHO HATE THIS SHIP TOO. THIS ISN'T A DIFFERENCE OF CULTURE, THIS IS A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION (& FACT). It may have not been called child grooming during that time, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't; it just went under a different name, that's literally it.
Let me give you another example. So if I'm watching a movie about WWII in Nazi Germany, am I supposed to sympathize with an SS officer if the story is being narrated from his point of view? Because in his mind and during that time period, his ideology is right. Like a lot of Germany during that war, I rally to support his leader for what is in my opinion a just cause. Tell me, how does context matter in this instance? Does it matter so much so that you would adopt the same ideals just because it was "historically accurate" and you don't see anything wrong with it when you put yourself in their shoes? Does the "it's just fiction" defense come into play here, too?
The illustration I believe you are referring to is the calendar with that one official illustrator for Inuyasha, right? The thing is, an official illustrator doesn’t equal the creator of Inuyasha. They may support the Sessrin ship, but their work has no connection to the Inuyasha series in any way besides the name affiliation. I've heard that the illustrator also included Kagome x Koga art, so should we take that seriously then too? Rumiko never once alluded to a future romance between Sesshomaru and Rin, to which you even (kinda) agreed. She described their relationship as neither parental or romantic, and she added that she even contemplated making Rin a boy at first. Fun facts, y'all!
I've heard about those magazines but they sound fishy to me. Would you mind sending me a link to a reliable source that comes with an English translation? I'd like to emphasize again that illustrators or VAs can do and say as they please, but their opinions are still only opinions at the end of the day. Nothing is set in stone until Rumiko says it is.
For one, I never said my interpretation was the only correct portrayal. That's you putting words in my mouth again. What I did say, however, was that my interpretation was more logical and reasonable than yours based on popular and widely-accepted story patterns found in real life and in fiction. Look this isn't about who's more "correct" or not. You can perceive Sesshomaru and Rin's relationship any damn way you want, BUT what you cannot do is dictate how we react to your depiction of this ship. You can't demand us to view your ship a certain way to fit your preferences. I'm sure all the hate on your ship can be unbearable at times, but that's just the cross you'll have to bear for supporting such a problematic couple. If a large part of any fandom is strongly against a pairing and what it represents, then there's usually a very legitimate reason for that. You may not want to hear this, but certainly you must realize there's some truth to it all. A couple of your fellow shippers have even admitted to me that Sessrin would be wrong IRL. You see what I mean? Even if we find the ship gross, antis don't care if you choose to ship Sessrin. All we care about is you acknowledging that, like IRL, Sessrin potentially poses a lot of problems for young viewers and how they come to make sense of and view similar situations that are borderline grooming or the very thing itself. Teens watching this show are more vulnerable and impressionable, which is why it's crucial to not show relationships like Sessrin in a favorable light. If they're ever put in a situation IRL that resembles Sessrin, they need to be aware and understand that it's not at all normal or healthy for that adult to make a move on them. Let's say Sessrin does go canon, then that would mean Rin had to get pregnant around 14 or 15. Sending that kind of message to an audience made up of mostly teenagers isn't exactly wise if you ask me. Please really think about that and sit with it if you need to.
I'm positive I'm following the same story, thank you very much. Also, how can you be so confident making a statement like that when I have actual Sessrin shippers praising me for making valid points? Sorry to break it to you, but I don't think I'm as lost as you claim me to be or wish that I was.
That's a wrap, peeps!
Read over what I had to say again later and then get back to me if want, but only write me back if you plan to be respectful. Otherwise I will decline to answer. Just keep that in mind. And may I suggest only sending 1 or 2 asks at a time? Please and thank you!
I think I may know exactly who are, nonnie, but I can't say for sure. Besides, it doesn't really matter, as you have a right to stay anonymous if you so wish to. Listen, don't forget you are also more than welcome to interact (but appropriately) on my blogs/asks/etc. If you are who I think you are, then you recently did make a comment on one of them but didn't stick around when I replied back (and for good reason). Finally, if you hope to ever have a real discussion about this topic someday, first put your ego aside and refrain from throwing insults and then I'll hear you out. I have never once put you down in all of our interactions, so there's no need to show up here all riled up and aggravated in the first place. There's also no need to laugh at or mock other's opinions. Don't take jabs and assume I must not know something about Inuyasha just because I don't support your point of view. I may not agree with your opinion, but you don't see me having a condescending air about it.
Apologies if you're not the member I believe you to be, but no offense, you probably still needed to hear all of that too. It's not included here since I answered it immediately, but that final ask you sent me where you got angry and assumed I wasn't going to answer you was totally uncalled for. If you ever hope someday to participate in real discourse with me or any other antis, you should take my advice and seriously chill and learn how to be patient.
Hope this finds you well, nonnie!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what got into asoiaf? Also, did you like Arya and Jonrya from the first read or did that come later? What do you think of Jon as a character? What are your top 10 favourite characters and moments? I aplologise for this avalanche of questions but I just couldn't help wanting to know more of my favourite asoiaf writer. PS: I adore your aesthetic, your blog and writing gives me an otherworldly feeling.
Hey no worries! Ask away <333
but what got you into asoiaf? I’ve always been into quasi-medieval fantasy, and picked up asoiaf a looooooooong time ago, when I was in middle school. It was so engagingly written that it never really left my brain since? That’s like, ten whole years rent free I’ve been thinking about these characters. What recently spurred me into like, engaging with the fandom/writing/etc was the lack of action in the Jonrya tag, and more specifically, the lack of stories updating that I was interested in, so I decided to make my own 😅
Also, did you like Arya and Jonrya from the first read or did that come later? Re: liking Jon and Arya right off the bat--Okay, so when I first read the series, I was Going Through It IRL, and identified a lot with Jon and his storyline? But I was also so not past the age of “girls going on insane dangerous adventures and being brave despite that” being massively appealing and all the Arya chapters were a satisfyingly more adult version of that genre. I’ll say I liked them both from the get-go, and it’s never really died down since, and I just learned over the years and rereads to appreciate more of the characters. (If I’d been a little older on that first read, I probably would have glommed onto Tyrion instead, and my fandom interactions now would be...vastly different 😂😂😂)
I guess I sort of shipped it from the moment I read ADWD. Like, I was super into Jon&Arya before then--that level of devotion is one of my fictional relationship draws--but ADWD really got me into it. There was just something so compelling about how often they think of each other, and how badly they want to be reunited again, in Arya’s chapters especially. But the whole passage with the Pink Letter just Fucked Me Up emotionally, and suddenly I was like, “They should reunite and kiss”. Over the years, my enthusiasm for the ship has increased, as my very old slushpile of unpublished fics can attest.
What do you think of Jon as a character? I think he’s an incredibly complex character, which is my favorite type of character! His struggles in the series against his own desires versus his sense of duty, especially framed in the narrative by popular thoughts about bastards, and how that affected his self esteem--he has to be more honorable, more clever, more dedicated just to make up for a facet of his own existence that he didn’t control and can’t change!--is something I just find so compelling. And, of course, his deeply intense love for Arya always gets me like 😍😍😍😍 I don’t have any huge takes on him though--I’m not a very thinky type person and everything I think about characters seems so hard to articulate unless I’m pouring it out into a fic (so I’m sorry if you wanted Takes! This Bitch Empty!)
What are your top 10 favourite characters?
Arya
Jon
Daenerys
Brienne
Tyrion
Missandei
Oberyn
Bran
Asha
Sansa
What are your top 10 favourite moments? Alright, these are in no particular order of preference, just listened as I remembered/googled exactly what books they took place in
1. When Brienne rescues Willow from the Bloody mummers, despite knowing that they’ll kill her for the attempt, AFFC-Brienne VII. No chance and no choice gives me chills every fucking time
2. When Arya kills Dareon and walks off with his boots, AFFC-Cat of the Canals. This moment has implications and speaks to Arya’s inability to let go of herself, even when all that being a Stark means in that moment is the gruesome work of justice, but I’ll be honest--I just like it because of how nonchalant and almost sassy she is when taking the boots afterwards, and how it speaks to her practicality.
3. When Jon reads the Pink Letter and loses his shit, ADWD-Jon XIII. I want my bride back … I want my bride back … I want my bride back …"I think we had best change the plan," Jon Snow said. Ohohohohhhoo!!! Juuuuust fuck me up GRRM!!
4. When Daenerys has breakfast with Missandei in Mereen and Missandei chides her into eating more, saying Daenerys is very small, ADWD-Daenerys VII. But also every Daenerys & Missandei interaction ever. Every time they speak to each other, you can just tell the level of care they have, and how they see each other as family over time!!!
5. When Arya travels with the Brotherhood Without Banners and gives water to the northern prisoners before watching as Anguy mercy-kills them, ASoS-Arya V. It’s a facet of Arya’s personality that imo, I think is ignored in metas and fics. She considers them her pack, and despite her disappointment in them, and her disgust at their crimes, still gives them water and finds them a quick, merciful death.
6. The dinner with the men of the Nightswatch and the discussion Bran and Robb have afterwards, about riding to the Wall to see Jon, and about whether their family will come back, AGoT-Bran IV This moment, I think, speaks to Robb’s characterization in a way that Catelyn’s POV chapters don’t touch very well. He’s so very young, despite everything, and trying his hardest, and well aware of the dangers his family is in, and how he’s falling short of saving them and there’s nothing he can do about that.
7. Oberyn during Tyrion’s trail by combat, and his arrogance and his rage, ASoS-Tyrion X. His demand that the Mountain say Elia’s name got me tearing up the first time I read it, not realizing what the cost of that justice would be for Oberyn himself. So much of ASoIaF deals with grief, and the consequences of obsessive grief, and this fit into the series so impeccably fucking well
8. Every single thing about Daenerys freeing the slaves at Astapor, ASoS-Daenerys III. One of the things I really didn’t appreciate in the show is how they changed the tone of that scene, very much altering it from Daenerys and her joy that she can do this thing, a balm after the horror she felt seeing the slaves and learning about the brutal training the Unsullied go through, into a moment that was just her being badass and powerful.
"Unsullied!" Dany galloped before them, her silver-gold braid flying behind her, her bell chiming with every stride. "Slay the Good Masters, slay the soldiers, slay every man who wears a tokar or holds a whip, but harm no child under twelve, and strike the chains off every slave you see." She raised the harpy's fingers in the air . . . and then she flung the scourge aside. "Freedom!" she sang out. "Dracarys! Dracarys!" "Dracarys!" they shouted back, the sweetest word she'd ever heard. "Dracarys! Dracarys!" And all around them slavers ran and sobbed and begged and died, and the dusty air was filled with spears and fire. "Dracarys!" they shouted back, the sweetest word she'd ever heard. "Dracarys! Dracarys!" And all around them slavers ran and sobbed and begged and died, and the dusty air was filled with spears and fire."Dracarys!" they shouted back, the sweetest word she'd ever heard. "Dracarys! Dracarys!" And all around them slavers ran and sobbed and begged and died, and the dusty air was filled with spears and fire. [Bold mine] The moment on the show was momentous, but this was-----vastly superior and far more indicative of her character.
9. Catelyn stopping the catspaw from killing Bran, AGoT-Catelyn III. Watching Catelyn emerge from the haze of her grief only to go full fucking ham feral and brutal protecting her child was like *chef’s kiss* There’s just such a cool contrast between her losing her shit talking with Robb a moment before, and then the actual fight, and then her busting out with: "The circumstances did not allow me to examine it closely, but I can vouch for its edge," Catelyn replied with a dry smile. "Why do you ask?"
10. This exchange: Alliser Thorne overheard him. "Lord Snow wants to take my place now." He sneered. "I'd have an easier time teaching a wolf to juggle than you will training this aurochs.""I'll take that wager, Ser Alliser," Jon said. "I'd love to see Ghost juggle." AGoT-Jon III. That’s the moment I knew I stanned Jon Snow irreparably, forever.
PS: I adore your aesthetic, your blog and writing gives me an otherworldly feeling. No u! For real, anon, that’s so fucking sweet of you to say 🥰🥰🥰 Hope I answered everything to your satisfaction, and feel free to come back and chat if the mood strikes ya!

Wee-oo wee-oo, purity police
A.K.A. one Tumblr Karen and their weird callout-post. A blog I followed just reblogged someone’s absolutely ridiculous “callout post”. Let’s call this person Karen. Karen begins their post by claiming another blogger has “proven themselves to be protecting pedophiles and indulging in abusive content”. Okay then. Let’s call this person X.
Karen continues with screenshots from X’s blog of... a drawing of a millipede wearing pants??? They are apparently appalled by a reblog where the millipede... throws away the pants... (Writing this feels surreal.) They let you know that they decided to look into the blog of this dangerous individual who dares to draw millipedes without pants on. We call them Y. Lo and behold! This absolute horrendous adversary of public decency has a blog of their explicit (censored) fanart that clearly made Karen pull out their smelling salts, as there are things like non-con, choking, characters that aren’t 18 (I don’t know the fandoms or the characters and I wasn’t interested in scrolling through their blog so I can only take their word for it) and whatever.
This is when this Karen sends X a message that Y is in fact a p*rn blogger! They blog abusive and pe//dophilic pictures of fictional characters! X has replied to them quite calmly that they don’t follow or interact with Y, save for the post they replied to. This is when Karen has a hissy fit. “Notice how passive aggressive it is? How it’s pinning all the responsibility onto me, even though they’re the one endorsing the pe//dophile by sharing their content? Naturally upset, I sent this second ask, before promptly getting blocked,” is what they write. In that second ask they blame X for “putting their content on my dash” and for “not taking responsibility”, while advising them on how to run and curate their own blog. What a fun individual. I can’t understand why they got blocked.
Nope, it doesn’t end here. Karen puts on the stalker pants. They creep around X’s other blogs someone conveniently has told them exist and even find and scroll through their Ao3 favorites. “Unsurprisingly, here I found their entire AO3 is dedicated to smut, some of which is abuse fics, pedophilic fics, or containing minor transphobia” is the comment they post with a screenshot of X’s favorite fics.
Finally, after this extensive rant Karen comes to the conclusion that “They’re a dangerous individual that AT BEST endorses obvious pe//dophiles and abusers and indulges in pedo//philic and abusive content. Block them, reblog this post, and then do as I did and forget they exist”. I’m not sure what you did was forgetting about it, Karen.
The whole post was so ridiculous that I had to read it a couple of times. Here’s what I have to say. Y has a blog I’m not interested in. They seem to ship things I don’t even know about and enjoy kinky things I dislike. You know what I do? I shrug and close their blog. I don’t like it, I don’t look at it. What I also don’t do is go on an aggressive scrolling fest on their blog and then send accusatory asks to someone who doesn’t even follow them. I also can understand the difference between fiction preferences and reality. Drawing Harley Quinn being choked doesn’t make them an abuser in real life. Shipping two characters that are, say, 16, doesn’t make a person a pedophile. Writing problematic fiction doesn’t make you condone everything the characters in your story do or say, and neither does it mean that someone who enjoys reading it condones their actions.
And you know what, Karens of the world? You don’t get to dictate how someone else runs their blog. You have no say in what they share. You can send an ask if you’d like them to tag something triggering or even mention that hey, you reblogged something from someone seedy. They may or may not agree with you and follow your suggestion. But again, it’s their choice. You don’t get to take a moral high ground and get aggressive when their response has been perfectly neutral. Also consider: someone consuming graphic content is none of your business if they aren’t rubbing it in your face on purpose. And even then you can block them. Nobody is forcing you to follow anyone’s blog, and gasping judgmentally how someone likes sexually explicit content on Ao3 makes you sound like a prudish child... especially when you have deliberately sought it out. Karen, I think you need to take a break from the internet and maybe get a hobby. You just come off as an asshole.

Hello i am a anon reporter for Nation watch International that being dedicated on news that circulating the Hetalia Fandom, anyway today we just received an information that due to the harassment and toxicity of the fans on the fandom about the "Geraus" or also known as Germany x Austria ship on a creator he decided to move out completely to the fandom which resulted of some of the toxic fans celebrated on their so called winning over the case and as a creator how you deal with these toxic fans?
|| Okay well this was definitely not what I was expecting when I came back here :/
I did go to their blog though and for some reason, I can’t shake the feeling that the people who call geraus “incest” are probably the same people who defend and go bat-shit love crazy over things like usuk, but I won’t get into that :)
So a really shitty thing has happened because of pathetic little people who can’t even bother to go off anon and attack someone to their face, and it sucks that the creator of that geraus blog had to leave. They were really cool and nice and portrayed a healthy relationship with natural chemistry between the characters. On the other hand, it’s kind of a good thing they left? Best to cut off the limb and save the rest of yourself rather than hold onto something that has become twisted, even if it’s fault of outside influence.
I guess fortunately I can say I don’t get toxic fans talking to me? My biggest problem is the dirty ones who can’t get their horny heads out of their ass. Still though, in my personal case, if I did happen to get toxic fans, I would just turn off anon and tell the worthless fucker to come say it to my face. And if they didn’t, it would prove every insult I used in this text. Some people can ignore them, others can’t; it doesn’t make the person being attacked weak or strong, I just hope that they can make the right decisions when confronted by something like this.
At the end of the day though, all these toxic fans are, as I so elegantly put, worthless little fucking pieces of shit scumbags who don’t have anything better to do than attack people who are just enjoying their harmless hobbies that concern fictional characters
Sorry for answering so late, or however soon depending on when this ask came in,, so yeah

Your writing is hands down amazing! I hope you don’t mind but I myself am an aspiring writer and have started my own novel, an original and am trying to gain confidence in posting it on tumblr. I was hoping you might have some tips for me, being a writer yourself, if not I’m sorry for bothering you! Have a nice day :)
Well, firstly, THANK YOU! I really appreciate that! That’s so sweet of you!
You’re not bothering me at all, my friend! I have tons of different tips that I can offer you! Now, keep in mind, I am writing from one person’s experience; every writer who you talk to is going to have a different experience than mine, and each and every one of those experiences are equally as valid! Keeping that in mind, let’s move onto some things that I have learned over time!
Practice, practice, practice!
Yup, you’ve heard this one a bajillion times, but that won’t ever make it less true! They always say that “practice makes perfect.” I don’t agree with that; I think any artist will tell you that they have never looked at their work and called it “perfect”. There’s always something to improve on. And you know what? That’s an amazing way to view the world! If you’re constantly striving to improve, you will always be producing better content than before and you will be gaining skills along the way!
Practicing does NOT have to mean writing a thousand words a day. Or five hundred words. Or any specific amount of words! To some people, having a daily count is really helpful! That’s not useful for me, though, and it doesn’t work for everybody. For me, practice involves me jotting things down on my phone when I think of ideas (I have so many lists of ideas!). It involves me writing a paragraph here or a sentence there. It involves me sometimes sitting down and writing for hours, or just putting a few words into a doc while I wait for my bus. As long as I am thinking about writing, as long as I am gearing my mind into that headspace, I consider it practice!
Take notes! Lots of them!
One of the things that I love about writing is that I’m always learning something new. I read a fic the other day that included a word that I didn’t know. That’s right, I’m an avid reader and a writer and I still come across words that I don’t know! I wrote that word down into my “Words I like” list. In fact, I have a whole thesaurus that I’ve developed at this point that includes words that I like, words to replace words that I don’t like, and words that make me happy! Whenever I hear a word or a phrase or a sentence that I enjoy, I add it somewhere so that I don’t forget it.
Similar to what I said in a previous post about learning from other artists’ drawing styles, I think it’s very important to learn from other writer’s styles as well! What do you like about their writing? Is it the varying sentence structure? Is it the words they use? Is it the way they describe things? Once you learn to identify things that you like, you can record them and remember them in the future as things that you want to work on!
Screw the Nay Sayers!
I had been told a million times that “publishing is hard!” and “it takes a while to get published!” and “don’t expect to publish a book for years!”. And frankly, none of those things are necessarily true. Yes, publishing can be difficult, and yes, it can take a long time to get published. It can also be super easy! It can take a very short amount of time! It can suddenly fall into your lap like any other opportunity! The trick is to make yourself available for opportunities. You have to put yourself out there and make an effort in order for things to happen to you. I had a friend once who told me one of his goals is to be published. I asked if I could read some of his work, and he said he hadn’t written anything down yet. I love him dearly, but I’ll be the first to admit that he’s probably not going to have anyone knocking at his door asking for his novel.
So despite the negative things that people tell you, it’s a great idea to put yourself out there and make some noise. You’re going to have to be your best advocate, because if you don’t like your work, why would the publisher?
Use the community to your advantage!
We’re here, we’re queer, and we’re eager to read whatever it is that you’ve done!
The fanfiction community (and writing community in general) are pretty damn helpful! Sometimes, you have to let yourself go a little bit and insert yourself into the community in order to take advantage of all of the wonderful, helpful people around! I’ll use Wolfstar as an example: There are discord servers dedicated to Wolfstar writers. There are people who offer themselves as beta readers, who will check other people’s fics for spelling and grammar and context mistakes. There are people who will “sprint” with you, where you race against the clock to write as much as you can, mostly competing with yourself more than anything!
There is nothing wrong with asking for help sometimes, and most of us LOVE being able to help out! It’s what makes us happy! It’s what keeps us going! Use us!
One thing to note: eventhough these small sections of the community are often dedicated to a ship, you do not need to be writing fanfiction to participate! Often times, people are happy to read your original work and help you with it!
Fanfiction isn’t a swear word
A lot of people look at Fanfiction and frown on it, saying it’s less than original fiction for some reason.
It’s not.
It’s just another form of writing!
It’s really important to remember that no matter what it is you are writing, you are still practicing! So if you want to write the same two boys falling in love over and over and over and over (read: my entire blog), that’s fine! You’re working on character development, you’re working on describing scenes, you’re working on describing people, etc. It’s all part of the big practice bubble! Don’t let anybody tell you that writing fanfiction is something to be ashamed of. Period.
Read some stuff!
There are a few really good resources out there for how to publish a novel or how to write a novel. Some are redundant. Some of them are boring.
How Not To Write a Novel is really funny and charming, and it has some very valid points! I definitely suggest you check it out, even if you just want to see what terrible writing looks like! It’s great, and I enjoyed it!
Read what other people have to say and learn about their experiences to help shape your own! A lot of people have tons of information out there, and all you have to do is Ravenclaw it up!
Anyway!! I don’t know if any of this is particularly helpful or not, but I just wanted to put out some of the things that I wish someone had said to me earlier! Remember, you are awesome. Work hard and practice advocating for yourself, and you will do amazing things!
