14 YEARS AGO TWIN FANTASY WAS LAUNCHED INTO THE WOLRD. HELLO? thank you for saving my life 14 year old album..

doing this i realized.. i don't hate a single song from both versions. i never ever listen to My Boy, but i don't hateeee it y'know

ok some highlights:

(if both versions of a song are right next to each other, assume i couldn't decide which i like best. for those that Aren't tho...)

Beach Life-In-Death (2018) is sooooo superior. the audio mixing is MUCH better (nevermind the fact that it was recorded in an actual studio) and doesn't hurt my ears, which a problem some of the old ones have.. HIS VOICE TOO..... GOD. i think Will grew into his voice so much, he sounds so good in the rerecordings.

BODYS....... i fucking LOVE this one, but i can't deny the audio mixing in the 2011 ver makes my head hurt 😭 IT'S SO LOUD and i also don't like the talking behind the "don't you realize our bodies could fall apart" bit, which is something i usually like about CSH's songs... but i still like it a lot tho! for a lot of these, what made the difference was just the audio mixing really. if that wasn't an issue they would definitely rank higher.

gosh, Famous Prophets (Stars) is such an improvement too... the bits they added reallyyyy make the difference for me. i LOVEEEE the use of crescendo here, it always fucking hits for me. (Minds) is good and i loveee the rawness of the instruments, but i wouldn't rank it higher because of the aforementioned problems with the 2011 ver. i also like the 2018 lyrics better.

i have literally no problems with Sober to Death other than it could've ended sooner than that, the repetition goes on for too long imo. but even that can't take away from the fact that it's my FAVORITE SONG FROM TWIN FANTASY IN BOTH VERSIONS. i'm literally fucking obsessed with this track ohhh my god, you should've seen my stupid face when the 2011 ver came up. I WAS FLABBERGASTED. i couldn't decide which one i liked better. also the audio mixing here is Fine, it doesn't bother me as much (might be biased bc it's my favorite tho). i appreciate both of them for different reasons: 2011 one because of how raw it sounds jfc i love the instrumental AND his voice here; the 2018 ver just barelyyy wins because of that bit after "not even words, just ah ah-ah aah" LIKE FUCKKKKKKKKKK BE SO FFR...........

(alsoooo don't get me wrong, Nervous Young Inhumans is only that low because i love it, but i LOOOOOOOVE the others above it, y'know? i hum "most people are jokes but YOU'RE. SO. REAL 🫵" all day long. also he wrote that monologue for ME.)
