Died on this day 46 years ago under murky, disputed circumstances at New York’s Chelsea Hotel: doomed bad girl, go-go dancer, groupie, scenemaker (and troublemaker), one half of punk’s most infamous couple – Nancy Spungen (27 February 1958 – 12 October 1978). For what it’s worth, the consensus is increasingly that Sid Vicious didn’t kill Spungen.
