After a long lotta soul searching and psychoanalysing, I've concluded that I currently feel best about being he/him agender afab (& am likeee 65-35 fem-masc for presentation atm) which feels like a parody of tumblr users going too far with labels. And yet.
Like I can show you my working out here, and yeah, I think therapy might be helpful for me to get a more stable sense of self, but it's what I feel works best for me at the moment.
Now how do I integrate this self-discovery into the way I speak French....
#not transing my gender but de-gendering my self-concept and self-presentation#do you get me#my gender is me gently nursing my 9 yr old self back to life#who was not a tomboy but also was not a girl or a boy and was ugly as all hell but had no conception of attractiveness or refinement#who had a multi-year long daydream world which was based around having a) a huge sword and b) friends w matching swords#who only had second hand clothes but from both the boys & girls sections and who was obsessed w reenacting violence as playing#god she could've taken over the world#im coaxing her back to life#but to do that we have got to pass over the grave of the teenage me who was in a lot of pain that i cannot carry forward#and the she/her pronouns will to be laid to rest with her. at least for the time being#so welcome to the future little me dont mind the grave of 11-17 yr old us or the void where 18-22 yr old us used to be#no giant sword just yet but you can fling the he/him pronouns around like projectiles in a slingshot for the time being#and i bestow upon you the tentative name of 2 dumbass fictional guys whose gender is best described as 'bitchy'#even if no name is ever really going to feel right because 11-17 yr old took our name and buried it with her and that was for the best#so good luck nick#your playground is a graveyard and you do not stand on the shoulders of giants#and yet i think youve got it from here#degendering my self to re gender myself#tear it all to the ground and rebuild only what you want#be a feminine boy in a masc kinda way#him/him but elle qui s'accorde au masculin#impossible que tu sois prof de français comme ça mais tant pis#bark

what could you think of for a second and third phase for super dimentio
Ymmm I don't really see him having another phases so no but I've had something for the first 20 seconds of his initial battle in mind.
Tag, he's it.
okay so like spm spoilers and stuff but:
When you first start the battle with Super Dimentio there's a certain period of time where he's invincible. You can't damage him and nothing really happens until Timpani returns with the Pure Hearts.
Now in my personal opinion while I'm still glad they added this moment, it still left me a little unsatisfied. Here's why:
Dimentio turning into Super Dimentio with Luigi is his big moment, his victory. He has become something that is indestructible, something that generations of Ancients have been passing down. He is a god. The time frame where he's indestructible in the game is supposed to show that you are powerless against him, that no Pixl and no item will do anything. This is supposed to make you realize in the moment that: it's truly hopeless.
Unfortunately Dimentios spotlight is VERY quickly taken from him, which makes the idea less effective than it could've been. You see Dimentio working for this the entire game, just for him to win in the end only for 20 seconds and then turn into a joke of a fight. The speech he gives before the fight is longer than the actual boss, making everything slightly anticlimactic (at least to me).
The concept I've been thinking about using in my take of the Super Mario lore (SPM specifically here) is that those 20 seconds of standing and waiting around for the game to decide it's time to move on are instead spent on: A reverse game of magical tag.
The concept of a magical tag itself is used earlier in the game by Dimentio himself who makes Mario and Luigi humour him by traveling through the worlds they have been in before and finding ripples in space he's leaving behind to keep the game going. I thought by turning this moment of 20 second invincibility into a game of magical tag where he's “it” this time would help that feeling of hopelessness and stakes sink in.
In this scenario Mario still cannot fight back as Dimentio, actively chasing him, is invincible, which forces him to run from danger. He runs from world to world, but now in contrast to the previous tag game, the worlds are being wiped out as you go through them for the final time. They're barely holding on, torn from their colors and mixing with the white void peeking through. Maybe some leftover npcs encouraging to keep going or just being terrified instead. Dimentio is chasing after you, peeking his long arms or head through the ripples to strike, and as he makes his way behind you the world progressively disappears and you have to make it out before it's entirely gone, else its game over. In the end of this chase you make it back to Castle Bleck where it picks up on Timpani restoring the Pure Hearts with Blumiere and using them to help Mario by removing Super Dimentios invincibility.
In conclusion I think making this moment akin to what I described above would help set the tone of this enemy more. For one this moment is now LONGER so you can see direct consequences of Dimentios victory outside and think about it more, second it turns you into an actual helpless plaything that you were meant to be. The entire path of the chase leads you back to Castle Bleck, it's a circle. This time you cannot escape and this time the evil doings have been set in motion on a rapid scale. It's a moment of Darkness that's broken by Timpani, someone who has been with you since the beginning and who you saw grow. She's now full of love and determined to win, something that to me comes off as super inspiring. She has been cursed to live a miserable existence yet she found the Light thanks to you. And THAT'S why you shouldn't give up even after all the ruined worlds you've seen. You have to keep fighting for them even in their darkest moment, even when they're gone.
also to clear any confusion yes i know this game is 3+ but i still think it'd be cool ig

"So? Tell me about the hot pilot."
It takes only a second to scroll through the rows of photos until he finds the one he wants to show her, but instead of handing his phone over, he takes a moment to admire it. The post has nine photos in it and this is the fourth one in—it's by far his favorite out of all the others on the account. Considering how many contenders there are, that's really saying something.
Maddie pointedly clears her throat and Buck ducks his head with a sheepish laugh, because he knows he's being mean by keeping her waiting. If the tables were turned and she was holding out on him, he'd be ready to tackle her to get to the phone. Plus, he's already looked at the picture at least three hundred times over the last two days; it's not like he's going to miss anything. He's pretty sure he could draw it from memory.
Nervously licking his suddenly-dry bottom lip, he slides the phone across the counter to her, and she snatches it up like a winning lottery ticket, or Golden Grahams, which she used to hide from him when they were younger because he could house an entire box in a single sitting.
She draws in a surprised breath when she looks at the screen, and he takes it as his cue to round the island and crowd in behind her so he can peer at it from over her shoulder.
Whoever took the shot should get a Pulitzer. It was taken through the open door of a helicopter, perfectly framing the three people in the cockpit. There are two kids—a girl no more than ten years old wearing a headset and looking at the instrument panel, while the other kid has their back to the camera, showing the familiar logo of two hands holding each other on the back of their shirt—and then there's Tommy, who's half inside the opposite door and haloed by the light of the Harbor hangar, his gaze focused on whatever he's pointing at on the panel. His head is slightly turned, exposing the textbook-perfect right angle of his jawline, and his mouth is half open. But, unlike every picture where Buck looks like a dumbass with his mouth open wide enough to drive a truck through, Tommy looks handsome and competent, caught mid-explanation about manifold pressure or rotor RPMs or any of the other gauges that Buck looked up before he'd called for the Harbor tour.
"Buck," Maddie says, stunned. She opens her mouth like she's going to say something else, but then she closes it with an audible click.
"I know."
She spins around and smacks his arm, her grin threatening to consume her entire face. "Buck!"
"I know." He does know. He really does.
"Oh my god." Maddie turns back to the phone and swipes to see the other photos, but the only other one in the post with Tommy in it is a group shot. He stands in the back of a gaggle of kids with four of his teammates, taller than everyone else, and it's either the vivid blue of his flight suit or the magnetic force field that seems to hover around him all the time, but Buck's attention is drawn immediately to him. The first time he saw the photo, it took him a second to realize there were like twenty other people in it.
"Oh my god," Maddie says again.
Each of Tommy's hands are on the shoulders of two kids, and he's smiling so widely that his eyes are almost closed. He looks so good. He looks like he did when he glanced up from the menu as Buck approached the table—like anyone in the world could've shown up but he was thrilled it was Buck specifically. No one had ever looked at him like that before. Like he was the correct answer.
And that's a wrap on our annual flight rescue simulation! As always, huge thanks to the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club (@labgc) for introducing us to the next generation of heroes. Can't wait to get up there with them again someday! #labgc #lafdharbor1
He blows out a breath. "I'm such an idiot."
"You're not an idiot. There's no way you could've anticipated Eddie showing up." Maddie swipes over to Tommy's full Instagram profile and starts tapping open photos at random. When she gets to another of Buck's favorites—the one of Tommy mid-laugh, sandwiched between a man and a woman in a bar booth with trivia sheets spread out on the table in front of them—she mutters, "Good lord."
Buck looks at the man and how he's shoved up against Tommy's side, and he swallows around a familiar sour crackle in his jaw. He'd told Tommy point blank that he can get jealous, but he's a little surprised by how much he wants to reach right into the screen and rip the poor guy out of the photo with his bare hands. He shouldn't be shocked, though; he did maim his best friend for the crime of having Tommy's attention, after all.
But that guy in the picture could've been Buck. If he hadn't been an asshole, he could've been the one sitting next to Tommy, pressed up against him and laughing, flushed with victory and good company and beer, filling out answers on the sheet and preening when Tommy turned an impressed smile on Buck for helping take their team to the final round because he knew things like what the fear of is flowers called and the world record for the longest hiccupping spree.
"I shouted to the entire restaurant that we were going to pick up hot chicks after dinner, Maddie," Buck says, and looks away from the photo where he isn't. "I might as well have paid someone to skywrite 'NO HOMO' above the Coliseum. So, yeah, I am an idiot for that."
She winces. "How'd he, uh, take that? Was he really mad?"
"Worse," he says miserably. "He was really nice."
Where his hand rests on the countertop next to her, Buck's fingers curl in to press against his palm, and the rest of his body wants to follow suit out of shame. He can't stop thinking about how quiet Tommy was after Eddie and Marisol left, how the confidence and charisma and razor-sharp wit had all grown dull and quiet from the time it took them to get up from their table and make their way to the street.
When Tommy cut the night short, he could have been awful about it. He could have yelled. He could've called Buck a homophobe, or chewed him out for wasting Tommy's time, or sneer that Buck would be better off watching the movie from the comfort of the closet. It would've been well within his right to do any of it, and Buck had been prepared for it.
He hadn't been prepared for Tommy to be kind.
"But it's not just that. I'm an idiot because… how did I not know? How do you miss something like this about yourself? Nine year olds are out there figuring it out with no problem, and meanwhile, I'm thirty-two and I had—I had no idea. I'm so stupid."
He bends over and drops his head onto the counter with a painful, yet somehow satisfying thunk.
Maddie places a hand between his shoulder blades. It's not too heavy, like she's holding him down, and it's not too light, like she doesn't know if her touch is welcome. It's just right. It always is. Even when she was a kid, she always knew how to hit the goldilocks zone when it came to comfort. His parents never came close.
"What if it were me?"
He tilts his head on the counter to look at the contemplative slash of her mouth. "What?"
"What if I were the one discovering this about myself?"
The question is soft and sweet, like how their backyard in Hershey used to fill up with hundreds of dandelions in the spring and they'd spend hours picking them and blowing the clocks everywhere, but the smile on her face is the sound of their mother shouting at them to stop because she thought the dandelions were an eyesore and they were basically planting more of them to come up in the fall.
"Would you call me stupid for not figuring it out sooner? Would you say, 'Maddie, you're pushing forty, how did you miss this?'"
Offended, Buck comes off the countertop so fast he nearly gives himself whiplash. "What?! O-Of course not—"
"Then why is it okay when it's you?" She demands, voice trembling like she's physically pulling on the reins of her anger and it's fighting her, just like it did when he hitchhiked to Marysville with a group of boys and perforated both his ear drums jumping off the Rockville Bridge. "You don't get to call one of my favorite people stupid, okay? You're not. There's no time limit to these things, Buck. You just… you figure it out when you figure it out and not a second before, and I'd be saying the same thing if you were one of those nine year olds or if you were ninety."
Buck doesn't know what his face is doing, but Maddie takes one look at him, clucks her tongue in sympathy, and then wraps her arms around him. He presses into her embrace with a grateful exhale.
Clinging to Maddie, to the quiet, endless strength of her, is nothing new, and neither is the wave of sheer wonder and disbelief that nearly knocks him on his ass because somehow she's his sister. Out of everyone in the world he could've been saddled with, he got the best of the best. He has no idea what he did in a past life to have earned a place in her current one, but it must have been amazing.
"Thanks, Mads," he says quietly into her hair. When she first started dating Doug, she switched from the peppermint conditioner she loved to the floral stuff he preferred. Buck inhales a little and swallows tears upon getting a whiff of something sweet and minty.
She pulls back a little and pats his chest, smiling. "So, what's the plan?"
He blinks. "The plan for what?"
"For trying again," Maddie clarifies, pointedly, like she wants to call him dumb but can't because she just spent the last five minutes telling him he wasn't. "So you screwed up. Big deal. We all screw up. What are you going to do to fix it?"
"Uh, I-I don't think he's going to go for that, to be honest," Buck mutters, looking down at his phone.
Last night, standing in Miceli's foyer and practically leaving craters in the floor where he was bouncing excitedly on his heels, he'd texted Tommy to see if he was already seated. The last message Tommy sent him reads: Head toward the back. I'm in one of the side booths on the left. You can't miss me :-)
There hasn't been anything since.
After Tommy cheerfully knocked Buck's entire world off its axis and walked out the door with a grin and the promise of a date, Buck had paced his apartment like a caged tiger, feeling both too big and too small for his skin, jittery and restless. The fourth time he'd stopped in the middle of a room and started laughing for no reason, he conceded he might be losing his mind. He'd felt like the only thing keeping him from exploding or floating into the stratosphere was the fact he had a shift in the morning. He'd kept away from the windows just to be on the safe side.
You like men, he'd thought giddily to himself, over and over. You are attracted to men. A man asked you out on a date and you said yes because you want to go. A man kissed you tonight and you loved it. You didn't want to stop. You want him to do it again.
It was like he'd finally found the last missing piece to the Buck puzzle he'd been searching for as long as he could remember, and slotting it into place felt like skipping the 5.0 upgrade and going straight to a different operating system. Increased storage capacity. Longer battery life. A brand new product.
He'd swore to himself that he would be cool about it. He wouldn't be a clingy, needy mess and drive Tommy off before he was able to explore whatever this was. That lasted all of twenty minutes before he was texting Tommy with trembling thumbs to thank him for coming over and clearing the air, and then threw his phone across the room. He spent the next ten minutes fighting the urge to claw his own face off until he heard the ping of a new text message.
It said, Sorry for the delay I'm still driving. Thank YOU for your hospitality ;-)
Buck had to go stick his head in the fridge to cool down about the implications of that, but once he calmed down and unscrewed the manic grin from his face, they were off to the races.
The only times they weren't messaging each other were between the hours of 1am and 5:30am, or if they were on shift. Although Buck didn't exactly hold to that. He found ways to sneak off a text or twenty during calls when he could, and he had the sneaking suspicion Tommy was doing the same. The photo he got of the sun setting over LA, taken through a helicopter's windshield, was kind of a giveaway.
It's been 24 hours since he last heard the text tone he'd assigned to Tommy's contact file—a sort of whuff sound that reminds him a little of rotor blades spinning—and he feels like if he doesn't hear it soon, he's going to go insane.
This is absolutely not the first time he's fucked up a date and was ghosted afterwards, but it is the first time the subsequent radio silence has made him feel like his colon is tying itself into a square knot. And he hates it.
"So, you're just—giving up," Maddie says, incredulity turning the question into a statement of disbelief.
He looks away from the phone and shrugs. "I'm… being respectful. It's pretty obvious he doesn't want to hear from me. I wouldn't want to hear from me."
"You don't know what he wants," Maddie points out. "He said he didn't think you were ready for this, right? Maybe he's trying to be respectful too."
He doesn't want to get his hopes up, but it sounds so plausible when she says it. Especially because Tommy hasn't been anything but even-keeled and kind and compassionate, and Buck truly doesn't think any of it is a front. If Buck reached out, he knows Tommy would respond. If Buck started texting him again and never once brought up the kiss or their disaster of a date, if he boxed up the overwhelming need to be the center of Tommy's attention and shifted things back to the safety zone of friendship, Tommy would let him. They'd be okay.
The thought of it makes Buck want to punch something.
Maddie peers up at him with a sly tilt to her mouth, but instead of calling him on whatever she sees on his face, she simply says, "But I do think keeping this from Eddie is twisting you up a bit. Maybe you need to jump that hurdle before you can move forward."
He clicks his tongue and gives a reluctant nod, because she's right. As usual. "H-How do I tell him that I'm… you know."
"Okay," she says with a falsely bright smile and wide eyes, her tone needling. "If you can't even say it out loud, then maybe you shouldn't—"
"That I like men, Maddie, god," he whines, face hot. "You're so mean to me. Jesus, do you treat Chim like this?"
"Only when he asks really nicely," she says horrifyingly.
He sticks his fingers in his ears and starts shouting, "LA LA LA!"
Maddie cracks up, then gives his chest a conciliatory pat. Annoyed, he shrugs her off, which makes her laugh harder. "I'm your sister, doofus. I'm contractually obligated to piss you off until you do what I want sometimes. Didn't you read the handbook?"
Which makes him duck his head and laugh a little. "The handbook" was a running joke they had when they were kids about what siblings were and weren't allowed to do. He hasn't thought of the handbook since the whole thing with Doug, when he realized Maddie had been taken and a tiny voice in the back of the mind whispered, "According to the handbook, you're allowed to hunt him down like a dog and kill him."
Sighing, he leans into her and nods. "I know. I know I need to talk to Eddie. I-I just wish I had some kind of guarantee he's not going to—that nothing's gonna change when he finds out."
Leaning into him right back, Maddie promises, "If it does, I'll beat him up."
"Yeah?" He smiles, a little pleased by the thought. He wants to tell Tommy about it. But he can't. Not yet. "That in the handbook?"
"Page 53," she says, and hugs him.

True to their word, the second the sun finished setting over Amity Park, Illinois, the ghosts fled the town.
This presented several problems. The most pressing of which was the fact that they now had a Missing Persons case to deal with where the prime suspects have just fled the area. The second problem was that the Justice League had no way of tracking any of the ghosts.
Superman had cleared all of the US Bases in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. The Flash had managed to clear all the US Gov. Bases in every state East of Idaho, Utah, and Arizona. No leads anywhere.
The ghosts were quiet as they left the town. So quiet, in fact, that the only reason the Justice League and the two accompanying JLD members even knew they were leaving was because they saw them leaving. And even then, they'd been fading out of visibility, so they'd had to rely on Red Huntress's confirmation that they were leaving.
Robin had taken his team, Young Justice, into the town to work rescue and touch base with Red Huntress in person. They were also given the charge on looking for Daniel Fenton. Just because the primary suspects had fled didn't mean that the trail was cold.
"Do we have any way to track them yet?" Batman honest to god growled to Constantine and Zatanna.
Constantine, honest to god, growled back. "Not since you last asked two minutes ago!"
"Lay off, B!" Zatanna snapped, "We're doing our best, and your hovering isn't helping!"
The Dark Knight switched bases, tuning his comm back to listen to Superman and The Flash. "Any luck, you two?"
"Nope," Superman sighed, "I'm just finishing up in Alaska and Canada. There's not even a hint as to the US Gov. knowing anything about magic, let alone another dimension." There was a brief pause. "I'm heading down to Africa next."
Batman grunted in response, filing the information away. Whoever was covering these tracks was good. Way better than the US. Government usually was. They could've outsourced, but they're not that stupid. "Flash?"
"Nothing on my end," he whispered back, "I've just finished checking Idaho, Utah, and Arizona; I'm in Nevada now. I'll be heading down to SoCal before moving up to finish in Washington."
Again, Batman grunted his affirmation. How were these guys staying so hidden? And how were they keeping a ghost trapped? Hopefully, they'd managed to corner the people they were looking for. If not, well, he didn't think there was time to do another sweep of the world. It's been a day already, and a lot can happen in a day. A lot more can happen in two days. Three is pushing it. Any more than three days and they risk an actual war, more than they already are.
Batman didn't sigh as he switch comm channels again. "Nightwing."
"Batman." Nightwing responded with equal stoneyness.
"Anything to report?"
"There's no Government bases in Bludhaven. Not official, not shady. I've been over the entire city twice now."
"Let me know if that changes."
"Fuck off."
He switched channels again. "Oracle, anything on your end?"
"Nothing," she answered, "Nothing in Gotham that needs your attention, though there are rumors about another Arkham break happening within the next week. As for your JL case? Also nothing. Though, there is a weird firewall around pretty much any information around Amity Park that I can't get through."
"Turn in for now, Oracle, I'll have Cyborg take a look at the firewall."
"Alright, B. Goodnight." She clicked off, but Batman knew she wouldn't be turning in for a few hours.
Batman switched back to his empty channel. Before deciding against it and connecting to Robin. "Report."
There was a few seconds before Robin answered. "Other than Daniel 'Danny' Fenton, everyone else in town is accounted for. All of the ghosts are gone. We tried to get a look at the rifts that Z and Constantine mentioned, but Jasmine Fenton - Daniel's older sister - won't let even her parents near it. Did you know that it's in their basement? What a stupid-"
"Robin."
"Right. We don't know where the second rift is, but there's nothing coming from either of them. I think it's safe to assume that nothing else is going to be coming out right now."
"Red Huntress?"
"Is running recon with Superboy over the town. They'll be back in a few minutes."
"And the rest of you?"
"We're at Town Hall."
"Good. Daniel?"
"His trail's cold. Jasmine Fenton was the last of his family to see him yesterday, but that's all we've gotten from her or her parents. We did manage to find two of his friends, Samantha 'Sam' Manson and Tucker Foley, but they claim to have not seen him since yesterday afternoon."
"You believe them?"
"Hard not to. We don't really have much to go on other than 'missing boy that no one has seen in nearly twenty-four hours'. And with no peaceful way to look at either dimension rift, we're a bit stuck."
Batman hummed. "Keep working on it." He switched back into his open channel.
Robin had specified that there was no 'peaceful' way of looking into the rifts. Without the ghosts, then the only things in the way were Jasmine Fenton and the unknown location of the second rift. He could break into the Fenton residence and incapacitate Jasmine to look at it, but he'd have no idea what to look for. Sneaking Zatanna or Constantine in with him will be too hard to be convenient.
"Zatanna?" he asked.
The magician was obviously beyond irritated, but she responded. "What."
"Do you know where the two rifts are?"
"Under the Fenton house and under the mayor's house, why?"
"Hm." Interesting. Why does the mayor have a rift under his house? It doesn't excuse either of them, but the Fenton's have made it because they're ghost hunters. What does the mayor need one for? He called Cyborg. "I need you to crack the firewall over information from Amity Park Illinois."
"Anything else?"
"Look into the town's mayor for me."
"Got it, Batman."

can we get soft angst hcs of caine comforting a reader who entered the circus but found solace in escaping their old life?
Dang it didn't take long for the requests to come in haha, but yessss I'm eager to write for TADC now!! (just note my hcs/interpretations of the characters will change as more episodes come out).
.......
When you first arrived to the circus not long after Pomni, Caine was worried that you were going to freak out over trying to find an exit (that definitely does NOT exist).
So he just cuts to the chase and states you're stuck here forever. There's no exit doors or hidden portals or secret keys, so you can just give up on returning to your old life altogether.
But you don't look scared in the slightest.
Confused? Yes. Certainly.
However once you've taken in all this information, you just stand there with a smile and a relaxed posture--a display that concerns Caine a lot.
"They seem happy, boss.." Bubble whispers. "Is that a good sign?"
"Not sure. Never seen anybody react this way. Maybe they're just holding it all in and pretending to be fine when they're really no--WOAH, stop the presses!!!" His eyes bulge out of his head/mouth(?) as he sees the tears running down your cheeks. "You're crying more than Gangle does on Tuesday! Is it true that you were masking your emotions????"
"..huh? What..oh no!" You laugh and wipe away the tears, before explaining to the ringmaster that you were indeed very happy.
You spoke of how sad and dull your life was outside of this game.
It was your escape, a comfort, and you've been a huge supporter of its development over the years.
Even in your sleep, you never stopped thinking about it--you always had dreams of being in this very circus, having loads of fun with the other characters and joining their wacky adventures.
So to learn that (somehow) you became a permanent part of the game is literally a dream come true!
Of course, you weren't expecting the presence of the Abstracted and Pomni's constant freakouts, but you couldn't be happier.
Caine was surprised that you remembered so much of your old life (whereas poor Pomni couldn't even recall her own name).
But he sees you're content with starting a new life here in the Digital Circus and grins, eager to plan some exciting fun and games for you to enjoy.
He will, however, make a point to pair you with Pomni so you could help her calm down and show her that being in this virtual world wasn't so bad.
It's probably not the best idea, though, as nothing you say comforts her.
"I mean, your old life could've been really bad and-"
"But what if it was good? What if I had tons of friends and a great family and a successful job and.....oh god..what if I had PETS?!!!" She wails. "Who's gonna take care of them?!!!"
Had she remembered at least one little bad detail from her old life....persuasion would come a lot easier.
But Caine encourages you to keep trying anyways.

𝐈 𝐀𝐌 𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐒𝐄, 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐈’𝐌 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐏𝐈𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄ˡʰ⁴³
in which luke longs for the one person who understands him.
warnings; sad luke, crying luke, weddings, prom
part one here
part two here
Luke stood at the edge of the reception hall, watching the newlyweds glide across the dance floor. The bride, radiant in her white gown, laughed as Matt, Luke's cousin and her husband, spun her around, their joy infectious. The room was filled with the soft glow of fairy lights and the gentle hum of conversation, but Luke's mind was far away, lost in the memories of the relationship the two of you once shared. Jack and Quinn were talking beside him, reminiscing on the childhood memories the three of them shared with Matt, but Luke could've cared less. Instead, he zoned in on the couple with longing eyes, his face expressionless - that should've been him twirling you around on that dance floor.
It had been nine months since he and you had parted ways, but it felt like a lifetime. The two of you had met in high school, two awkward teenagers drawn together by a shared love of sports, music, and movies, and a mutual disdain for the superficiality of your guys' chemistry teacher. His first dance with you had been in your living room, the two of you clumsily stepping on each other’s toes to a scratchy vinyl record your father had given to you. The two of you shared so much laughter that day, the sound mingling with the music. Luke didn't think he was capable of laughing that much, but somehow, you had brought it out of him. In that moment, Luke had thought that your relationship would last forever.
As Matt and Amelie continued their dance, Luke remembered the night he had taken you to prom. You guys had spent weeks preparing. You agonized over your dress to the point where Ellen had offered to fix it up however you wanted to. She spent a week sewing this, and hemming that, but that dress couldn't have been more beautiful. It complimented you perfectly, the red satin fabric allowing your eyes to radiate. You laughed as Luke fumbled with the corsage during pictures. At the time, he didn't appreciate it, but now, he would give anything to hear your laugh again. When the two of you had finally arrived, the gym had been transformed into a magical wonderland, complete with twinkling lights and a live band. You guys had danced until your feet were sore, holding each other close as if the world outside didn’t exist.
Luke felt a lump in his throat form as he continued to watch the first dance. There was an empty seat beside him, designated for another one of his cousin's who couldn't make it, but Luke couldn't help but feel like it was for you. It was just another reminder that you weren't with him, but you should've been. All he wanted was to look away, but it's like he was frozen. It felt like a god damn punishment. And then, as if things couldn't get any worse, he realized what song they were dancing to - 'Like Real People Do'.
No, no, no. This was your guys' song.
Tears sprang into Luke's hazel eyes immediately, and he jumped up from his seat to excuse himself. Quinn and Jack looked at their little brother like he was crazy, but Luke muttered some half-ass excuse about having to use the bathroom before walking out of the reception hall and outside the building.
As soon as he was outside, Luke tightly gripped the red brick of the building. He felt that if he didn't, he would've collapsed right then and there. He tried to take some deep breaths to calm himself down, but it felt as though nothing was working. So, he whipped out his phone and opened his contacts.
As he hovered over your contact, Luke tried to convince himself that it was because he wasn't in a clear state of mind. Maybe he could even blame it on the drinks that Jack had snuck over to him earlier in the evening. But deep down, Luke knew that wasn't true. He missed you, and maybe, just maybe, his longing for you would decrease if he heard your voice again. The night was quiet, which only seemed to amplify his thoughts. He missed you - every laugh, every conversation, every moment the two of you had shared. He missed you more than he could bear.
But the longer his fingers hovered over your contact, the more hesitant he became. The two of you had broken up nine months ago. The last time he had seen you was the night (or morning, he didn't even know) you showed up to his apartment, where he was sleeping with another girl and practically yelled at you for coming to see him. And it was the night that you needed him most. You were missing your dad and needed comfort. That was it. He had royally fucked up.
Was this a good idea? Would you even want to hear from him?
Doubts crowded Luke's mind, but the ache in his heart overpowered him. He took a deep breath and pressed call.
The phone rang once, twice, three times. Four times, five times, six times.
Luke was about to hang up when the dial tone went away. Static ensued and then he heard exactly what he wanted to hear.
"Hello?" Your voice was soft, cautious.
Luke let out a whimper, a tear falling from his eye, "Y/N/N, hi. It's Luke."
There was a pause, then, "Luke. Hi. It's been awhile."
"Yeah, it has. I-" he struggled to find the right words, "I know it's sudden, but I just needed to hear your voice. I miss you, Y/N."
The line was silent for a moment, and Luke feared that you might've hung up. But then you spoke, your voice trembling slightly, "Why'd you call, Luke?"
He let a sob ring from his lips, his tone heavy, "Matt got married today, and him and Amelie just looked so happy. And I looked at them and it was like I couldn't even see them, I just saw us," another sob rang out, "I just... whenever I looked at you, Y/N, I saw my future. I would've married you if I had the chance." he admitted.
The line went silent again, this time for even longer than the last. Boy, did that scare Luke. Had he said too much too soon? He wouldn't be surprised if he did - his brothers had always told him that that was his fatal flaw. Thirty seconds had passed before he spoke up again, pure desperation evident in his voice, "Y/N/N?"
He heard you sniffle over the line. A few more seconds of silence followed before you spoke, your voice trembling a little more than before, "I... I miss you too, Luke. I think about you a lot."
Relief washed over him, but it was quickly followed by regret, "I messed up, Y/N. Remember that night when you called me an asshole? It's all I've thought about since that night. You needed me and I kicked you out and..." Luke had to pause as he felt his chest tighten. His breaths were ragged and it felt as though he couldn't catch his breath.
"Luke? Luke, are you okay?" you asked him, concern evident in your tone.
Luke was able to compose himself just enough to keep talking as he heard your voice, "I was an asshole. I can't believe it's taken me seven months to admit it, but I was the asshole, and I am so fucking sorry, Y/N."
You took a shallow breath on the other end of the phone, your own eyes welling with tears.
Luke continued, "Listen, I don't know if we can ever go back to what we had, but I just needed you to know how much I miss you."
You sighed softly, tears of your own now slipping from your eyes, "That was hard for me, Luke. It hurt. But hearing you say that means a lot. And I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I didn't fuck up, too. We both made mistakes, and here we are." you faked a laugh.
Without thinking, Luke whispered through the phone, "Can we meet?" There was a lace of hope in his words as he spoke. Maybe it was a little bit of a facade, just to trick him into thinking he had more of a chance than he actually did, "Just to talk. Maybe start over, even if it's just as friends."
There was a long pause, and if it was as if Luke could almost hear you weighing the decision through the phone. It felt like hours had passed before you spoke again, your voice gentle, "Luke... it's not that simple. I miss you - more than you know - but I think that we both need to heal and move forward, even if it's hard."
"Y/N?"
"Yes, Luke?"
"It's pathetic really, how much I still hope it's you and me in the end."
"Take care of yourself, Luke," you said, "Goodnight."
Luke wiped the tears from his cheeks, feeling the weight of your words. As you hung up, though, he felt a mixture of relief and sorrow. He knew you were right - you both needed to move on, to heal. But at least for tonight, he had the comfort of hearing your voice, a small connection to the woman he had loved and lost.

🎨𝙎𝙏𝙊𝙋 𝙃𝙄𝙏𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙊𝙉 𝙈𝙔 𝙈𝙊𝙈-🎨
Fyodor x reader
Hard crack and fluff
DESC: Dazai had always hoped his mother would find someone again after his father left her when he was young. However he was not all to pleased to find out she found a FUCKING TERRORIST
WARNINGS: Mentions of terrorism. Everybody begrudgingly tolerates each other as opposed to outright killing each other. Probably ooc Fyodor. Suggestive but it's played for laughs. Kinda spoiler for Fyodors ability if you squint.
Dazai never knew his father. And he never wanted to. He had walked out on his mother when he was less than a year old. And yet his mother did it all for him. She tried her best to help him in any way she could despite her struggles and lack of child support. So as Dazai got older he had hoped his mother would find someone worth her time. A guy that treated her well and made sure she was well taken care of. This is not what he meant by that.
[NAME] stood there happily. Elated to finally introduce the two. Dazai had to fight back the urge to gag, scream, and strike the rat all at once. His eye slightly twitching. Fyodor. His mom was dating a fucking terrorist and she hadnt the smallest clue. His sweet, loving, passionate mother. This was ridiculous. His mother was young, she had him in her late teens so she was in her mid to late thirties, early forties. DAZAI HAD NO FUCKING CLUE HOW OLD THIS RAT BITCH WAS. I mean really- for all he knew he predated the fuckinf dinosaurs. He could've had a drinking contest with Christopher godamn Columbus and he would be none the wiser.
Fyodor- wasnt taking this all too well either. I mean, really - how the hell was this your son!? When Fyodor first met you, he saw you as yet another good person who had to live in a world of tainted ability users. However, he began to see you more frequently. Whether that be by coincidence or subconsciously going to places he had seen you before, he didn't know. But it all led in him, eventually asking you out. Fyodor never considered himself a romantic. He had plans - big ones! He couldn't risk distracting himself. But it was something about the way you spoke, your gentle demeanor and sweet mannerisms. How your coat was slightly stained with bright paint. So, of course, he wasn't risking losing you. When you stated dating, you had laid out immediately that if your son didn't like him, it couldn't happen. You valued his opinion over all else. And Fyodor admired it. You were a loving mother. But if he knew your son was the living embodiment of the "'hang' in there!" cat posters, he would have hired an assasin to take him out. (Not that it would've worked anyway. Dazai never seems to stay dead.)
So now here they both sat, at a cute brunch spot eating together. Anytime you looked their way, their smiles would be back. But the moment you left for the bathroom, they both began openly debating.
"Stop fucking my Mom." Dazai grit his teeth, his fork slightly scratching against his face. Fyodor rolled his eyes, "we haven't performed coitus as of yet you imbecile." He scoffed. Dazai visibly recoiled, relieved and yet disgusted. "Who the hell calls it that?" He gagged. "I would rather adress it as such than with vulgar language-" Fyodor argued. "Oh my god. You sound like a fucking Victorian man. What do the sight of her ankles get your rocks hard my guy?" Dazai groaned. "If you keep this up I will make love with her to spite you." Fyodor glared. Dazai paused. Turning to him in disbelief.
"You wouldnt-

THE VIEW BELOW you was something straight out of pinterest. you watched through the cabin's window at the people conversing and laughing with their loved ones on the ground. you watched the clouds roll past the setting sun and the blue sky fading into a myriad of vibrant pinks.
you always enjoyed things like ferris wheels because of the way its height gave you new perspectives on the complexities of the world and society. everything looked different from above.
"oh my god, do you see that little kid dancing down there? she reminds me of kk a little bit," you hear from beside you.
you tilt your head at your best friend, morgan, who is currently smiling down at the crowd below. her smile always managed to make you smile, the glow of her joy being contagious.
"she kinda does, i'm not gonna lie," you laugh along with her, "it's so pretty up here."
"it is, isn't it?" morgan agrees. but she's not looking at the landscape like you are. no, she was looking at you. well, more like admiring.
she's scanning over the warm glow of your face, reminiscent the sunset's. she's staring at the curve of your lips as you grin at the scene of little people beneath you.
god, it felt so weird, so foreign to morgan - falling for her best friend. it's something that she never really expected to happen, especially considering you two had only met last year.
but here she was, shamelessly staring at you and taking in your beauty.
you knew she was looking at you. you felt her eyes and the desire behind them. your heart rate quickens under her observance, your cheeks flushing.
turning your head back to face her, you are instantly met with the loving brown eyes you always search for in a crowd.
neither of you say anything as you notice her gaze flicker between your eyes and lips. you watch as her tongue darts out, licking her own lips.
the exchange is agonizing - how one move could make or break your friendship. but it's too intense, you had to do something.
"so are you just gonna keep staring or are you gonna kiss me?" you whisper, bringing a hand up to brush a strand of hair away from her face. your hand rests on her jawline, waiting for her response.
morgan's eyes shoot up to your own, slightly taken aback at your bluntness. her cheeks turn a light shade of pink, making her appear even more adorable (if that's possible).
after a beat of silence, she leans into your touch and slowly places her lips on yours. it's cheesy, but you could've sworn you heard fireworks.
the kiss is gentle, delicate, as if you were both scared to scare the other away. as your lips move with hers, you feel one of her hands drift down to your waist, her thumb rubbing soft circles on the sliver of exposed skin.
when you pull away, she rests her forehead on your shoulder, seemingly hiding from your upcoming teasing.
"you okay, morgie?" you giggle.
"so okay," she mumbles into your shirt. you feel her smile against you before she lifts her head to look at you, "you're so pretty."
"shut up," you shake your head with a grin.
"if you keep smiling at me like that i'm gonna have to kiss you again," she breathes out.
you simply smile in response, wanting nothing more than to feel her lips on yours again, "i wouldn't mind it."
and with that, morgan eagerly captures your lips for the second time that night, sighing in content at the thought of finally being able to do what she's been dreaming of for so long.

Fainting in front of the BG3 ladies
Karlach:
You should have said no to the sparring session, but Karlach looked so excited to train with you and you hadn't been able to spend some quality time with her due to all of Baldur's gate needing something from you. So you agreed, you may have been running on three hours of sleep total for the past four days and you hadn't eaten since - who knows when? But you agreed.
You barely managed a jab in before you were conked out on dirt floor taking an involuntary nap. Karlach had caught you and thought perhaps you were just joking around with her.
"Okay soldier, if you wanted to tap out you could've just told me- Soldier? Babe!?"
Karlach shook you fervently and when you still didn't respond to her she called out to the rest of the camp as if you had just taken 10 arrows to the chest.
"My Gods- Halsin stop petting that rat and fucking help them!" She shouted and the druid flinched before nodding his head, abandoning his new friend and coming to Karlach's side, your form cradled in her arms.
"I believe they've just fainted-"
"-THEY"VE DIED HALSIN PLEASE SAVE THEM" Karlach shouted as she lay you down onto the nearest bedroll, disgruntling the resident vampire. Halsin quickly got to work, letting a warm glow emit from his hands as he assessed you.
"I just need to-"
"-HALSIN PLEASE-"
"-Karlach it will-"
"-I CAN"T LIVE WITHOUT THEM-"
"-Karlach please, just-"
"-I'M TOO YOUNG TO BE A WIDOW-"
"-You're not even married-"
"-HALSIN!-"
"What is going on?" You groggily spoke as Halsin helped you up, only for you to be pinned back down by an emotional tiefling.
Karlach's arms wrapped around you tightly, tears streaming down her face as she buried her head in your chest. "I thought I'd lost you," she whispered, her voice trembling. You could feel her heart pounding through her clothes. She was running hot - hotter than usual.
Halsin chuckled softly, patting Karlach on the shoulder. "They're fine, Karlach. Just exhausted, it seems our leader has been neglecting themselves in their endeavour to save us all."
With a mix of relief and embarrassment, you patted Karlach's back gently, kissing her cheek. "I'm okay, really. Just... need a bit of rest."
Karlach finally loosened her grip, her eyes red but filled with determination. "No more skipping meals and sleep, got it? I need you in one piece."
You nodded, smiling weakly. "Got it."

Minthara:
The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silvery glow over the camp. You had been trying to hide your exhaustion, the result of relentless nightmares that plagued your sleep night after night. You feared Minthara would see you as weak if she knew, so you kept your struggles to yourself.
Tonight, however, the lack of rest finally caught up with you. As you walked back to your tent after a long day, the world began to spin, and darkness crept in from the edges of your vision. Before you could call for help, your legs gave way, and you collapsed to the ground.
Minthara, who had been sharpening her blade nearby, noticed immediately. She was at your side in an instant, her eyes wide with alarm.
"Y/N!" she called out, her voice sharp with concern. She knelt beside you, her hands gently cradling your head. You slowly regained consciousness, your vision blurry as you looked up at her.
"Minthara," you murmured weakly, trying to sit up.
"Stay still," she commanded, her tone leaving no room for argument. She examined you carefully, her sharp eyes taking in every detail. "What happened?"
You hesitated, not wanting to reveal the truth, but the look in her eyes told you she would accept no evasions.
"I… I've been having nightmares," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "I haven't been sleeping well."
Minthara's expression softened, though a flicker of frustration crossed her features. "Why didn't you tell me?" she asked, her voice gentler now. "Did you think I would see you as weak?"
You nodded, feeling a pang of guilt. "I didn't want to worry you. I thought I could handle it."
Minthara sighed, her fingers brushing a stray lock of hair from your face. "You are strong, my love, but even the strongest need help sometimes. I would never think less of you for struggling."
You looked up at her, relief flooding through you. "I'm sorry, Minthara. I should have told you."
She shook her head, a small smile playing at her lips. "It's alright. Just promise me you won't hide things like this from me again."
"I promise," you said, your voice filled with sincerity. Minthara helped you to your feet, her arm wrapped securely around your waist.
"Come," she said, guiding you back to your tent. "You need rest, and I will ensure you get it."
Inside the tent, Minthara helped you settle down, her touch surprisingly gentle. She sat beside you, her presence a comforting balm against the lingering fear from your nightmares.
"I will stay with you tonight," she said firmly. "And every night, if you need me."
You reached out, taking her hand in yours. "Thank you, Minthara. I feel safer with you here."
She squeezed your hand gently. "And you always will be. Now, rest. I will watch over you."
As you closed your eyes, the last thing you saw was Minthara's reassuring smile. Her presence beside you banished the shadows of your nightmares, and for the first time in weeks, you felt the promise of a peaceful sleep.

Lae'zel:
The aftermath of the battle was a chaotic flurry of movement and sound, but you had managed to keep your injury hidden from Lae'zel. You knew how she valued strength and feared her reaction if she knew you were hurt. You gritted your teeth and pressed on, hoping the pain would subside.
But as you walked towards the camp, your vision began to blur, and each step felt heavier than the last. You stumbled, clutching your side as a wave of dizziness washed over you. Before you could call out, your legs buckled, and you collapsed to the ground.
Lae'zel, always vigilant, was by your side in an instant. Her eyes widened with a mix of fury and concern as she knelt beside you.
"Y/N!" she barked, her voice filled with a rare edge of panic. "What happened?"
You struggled to focus, the pain in your side sharp and unrelenting. "I… I didn't want to worry you," you managed to say, your voice weak. "I got hurt in the battle."
Lae'zel's eyes flashed with anger, but her hands were gentle as she inspected your injury.
"You fool!" she hissed. "Why did you not tell me? Do you think hiding your pain makes you stronger?"
You winced, both from her words and the pain. "I thought you would think less of me," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
Lae'zel's expression softened slightly, though her anger was still evident. "You are a warrior, Y/N, but even warriors can fall. Hiding your injury only makes things worse."
She carefully helped you sit up, her hands steady and sure. "Where does it hurt?" she demanded, her eyes scanning your body for the source of your pain.
You pointed to your side, where the wound throbbed painfully. Lae'zel's eyes narrowed as she examined it. "This needs to be treated immediately," she said, her voice firm. "You should have told me sooner."
"I'm sorry, Lae'zel," you said, feeling a wave of guilt. "I didn't want to be a burden."
Lae'zel shook her head, her expression a mix of exasperation and concern. "You are never a burden," she said, her voice surprisingly soft. "But you must trust me enough to share your pain."
She helped you to your feet, her arm wrapped securely around your waist to support you.
"Come," she said, guiding you back to the camp. "We will get this wound treated, and then we will talk about your foolishness."
As she helped you settle down, Lae'zel's demeanor was a mix of anger and tenderness. She fetched the healing supplies and began to tend to your wound with practiced efficiency.
"You need to be more careful," she scolded, though her touch was gentle. "I cannot protect you if you hide things from me."
"I understand," you said, wincing slightly as she applied a healing salve. "I won't hide anything from you again."
Lae'zel's eyes met yours, her gaze intense. "See that you don't," she said, her voice softening. "I care for you, Y/N. Do not make me worry needlessly."
You nodded, feeling a swell of gratitude and affection. "Thank you, Lae'zel. I won't let this happen again."
She finished bandaging your wound and sat back, her expression softening further.
"Rest now," she said, her voice firm but kind. "I will watch over you tonight."

Shadowheart:
The night air was cool and calm, but inside, your mind was anything but. The relentless night terrors had taken their toll, wearing you down night after night. You tried to push through the fatigue, not wanting to worry Shadowheart with your troubles. However, your body had reached its limit.
As you walked back to your tent, a sudden wave of dizziness overcame you. The world around you blurred, and before you could call out for help, your legs gave way, and you collapsed to the ground.
Shadowheart, who had been tending to a small fire nearby, noticed immediately. She rushed to your side, her eyes wide with alarm.
"Y/N!" she cried out, kneeling beside you. Her hands shook slightly as she checked your pulse and breathing, relief washing over her when she found both steady.
Even though you were unconscious, she couldn't help but scold you. "What were you thinking?" she muttered under her breath. "You should have told me if something was wrong. How could you be so reckless?"
When you finally came to, you found yourself lying on your bedroll inside your tent. Shadowheart was sitting beside you, her expression a mixture of worry and frustration.
"Y/N," she said, her voice stern but tinged with relief. "You're awake."
You managed a weak smile, trying to lighten the mood. "Hey, Shadowheart. You look worried. Did something happen?"
She didn't seem amused. "Don't you dare joke about this," she snapped, though her eyes were soft with concern. "You've been pushing yourself too hard, haven't you?"
You sighed, realizing there was no point in hiding it anymore. "I've been having night terrors," you admitted. "I didn't want to worry you."
Shadowheart's expression shifted to one of frustration. "You idiot," she said, her voice trembling. "Do you think I wouldn't want to know if you're suffering? Do you think I don't care?"
You reached out to touch her hand, trying to offer some comfort. "I'm sorry," you said softly. "I just didn't want to burden you."
Shadowheart shook her head, her eyes filling with tears. "You could never be a burden to me," she said, her voice cracking. "But seeing you like this… it hurts. You have to promise me you won't keep things from me again."
"I promise," you said sincerely, squeezing her hand. She sighed, wiping away a tear.
"Good," she said, her tone softening. "Now, rest. I'll stay with you tonight."

Jaheira:
The battle had been intense, and in the aftermath, you found yourself struggling to keep up with the others. You had sustained an injury but had hidden it from Jaheira, not wanting to bother her. However, the pain and exhaustion that were catching up with you had other ideas.
As you walked towards the camp, a sharp pain shot through your side, and the world around you started to spin. Before you could call out, your vision went black, and you collapsed to the ground. Jaheira, ever vigilant, noticed immediately. She rushed to your side, her eyes wide with alarm.
"Y/N!" she exclaimed, kneeling beside you. She quickly assessed your condition, her hands gentle but efficient.
"You're a fool," she muttered, though her voice was thick with worry. "Why didn't you tell me you were hurt?"
When you finally regained consciousness, you found yourself lying on a makeshift bed inside your tent. Jaheira was sitting beside you, her expression a mixture of relief and frustration.
"Y/N," she said, her voice firm. "What were you thinking?"
You managed a weak smile, trying to lighten the mood. "Hey, Jaheira. My dearest, darling love-"
She didn't seem amused by your attempts at seduction.
"Don't you dare try that," she snapped, though her eyes were soft with concern. "Not after this,"
You sighed, realizing there was no point in hiding it anymore. "I didn't want to worry you,"
Jaheira's expression shifted to one of frustration. "You damned fool," she said, her voice trembling. "Do you think I wouldn't want to know if you're hurt? Do you think I do not care?"
You reached out to touch her hand, trying to offer some comfort. "I'm sorry," you said softly. "I just didn't want to burden you."
Jaheira shook her head, her eyes filling with tears. "You could never be a burden to me," she said, her voice cracking. "But seeing you like this… it hurts. You have to promise me you won't keep things from me again."
"I promise," you said sincerely, squeezing her hand. Jaheira glared at you but raised her clasped hand to her lips and pressed a kiss to it. "I love you, Jaheira."
"I love you too, you may be a fool," Jaheria sighed, placing your clasped hands back to your side. "But at least you are my fool."

A drive to Lily's that normally would've taken 25 minutes depending on traffic only took Lando 10 and I think the way he is flooring it right now has been the fastest he's ever driven in his life. I mean anyone could've easily mistaken him for Max Verstappen in this moment and rightfully so, my bastard of an ex-boyfriend and baby dad is an absolute dick for what he just did.
I get being upset that I'm pregnant and that my boyfriend right now is treating me 10x better than you ever will but actually spoiling the gender for us AND spoiling the fact that I'm carrying twins is on another level of insanity.
When we dropped Yelena off, Lily had told us she wasn't going to be expecting a baby pick up anytime soon. Which by the way, God bless Lily for just being able to drop whatever she had planned for today to be able to watch my kid while Lando and I dealt with baby daddy drama.
The blaring sound of a ringtone is what yanked me from deep in my thoughts. I picked up the phone to look at the caller ID before answering and placing it on speaker "Carlos, now is really not a good time". I said while running a hand over my face to try and ease some tension building up.
"Logan's at my place." Lando's knuckled gripped the steering wheel tighter at the mention of his name.
"Why is he there and why does he need to have a conversation with you present?" I questioned
"He told me to tell you and Lando to meet him here to talk to you but wants me present and he thinks Lando is going to kill him." Carlos started, doubt coating his voice as he talked.
"I FUCKING AM" Lando screamed as he pressed down on the gas pedal harder.
I’ve seen Lando upset and even angry before but what I was seeing from him right now wasn’t either of those, this was pure hatred. Lando was seeing pure red in his vision as he was driving, almost hit a pedestrian (who shouldn’t have crossed but people don’t pay attention to signs).
Now that Lando knows he has to book it to Carlos’ place instead of Logan’s he makes a sharp turn, which could’ve easily flipped the car if you weren’t as much of a skilled driver as Lando is.
"BABE! I KNOW YOU'RE MAD AND ALL BUT DON'T CRASH THIS CAR AND KILL ALL 4 OF US!" I screamed as I grabbed ahold of the center console
Something about the fear in my voice as I screamed at Lando seemed to get through this barrier of red he had coating him and he seemed to ease up on the steering wheel and drove a bit more safer.
-
Arriving at Carlos house, we were greeted with Carlos standing out front. Lando and I got out of the car and started making our way to the front door of Carlos' luxurious house while Carlos started walking towards us, meeting us halfway.
"Ay, I talk to Logan. He meant no harm pero I think he did. He is in the living room." Carlos said as he patted Lando's tense shoulder before turning his attention to me. "I'm so sorry Logan did what he did. I feel so bad but just know that I'm here for you with whatever you need." Carlos added while he pulled me into a hug.
I've always loved Carlos' hugs because of the level of comfort they always brought was just unmatched. If you're sad, have a Carlos hug, if you're happy, have a Carlos hug, if you don't want a hug, have a Carlos hug. Moral of the story: a Carlos hug can fix everything. Well, almost everything.
"Thank you Carlos, I really needed that hug. I just-" The sound of glass breaking is what caused me to stop mid-sentence and I turned to look over at my boyfriend, only to find him no where in sight.
My heart dropped to my feet when I was met with no sign of my boyfriend and all I could hear from a distance was arguing. Carlos wasted no time in spinning on his heels and running into his house and into the living room where all the arguing was taking place.
"I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IN YOUR MIND, YOU THOUGHT IT WAS OKAY TO SPOIL A FUCKING GENDER REVEAL BY POSTING IT ON INSTAGRAM AND ON TOP OF THAT SPOILING THE FACT THAT WE'RE HAVING FUCKING TWINS!!!" the voice of Lando booming louder as I inched closer to Carlos' living room.
"I DID IT BECAUSE YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME! YOU TOOK MY BABY, MY LIFE, MY GIRL, YOU TOOK IT ALL! I HAVE NOTHING TO LIVE FOR!" Logan shouted in rebuttal, his face contorted in a way I've never seen before and his skin as red as a tomato.
When our eyes locked, I could see Logan's eyes soften but when he opened his mouth to say something, Lando cut him off.
"I DIDN'T 'TAKE' YOUR GIRL, I SHOWED HER WHAT IT'S LIKE TO LIVE IN A HOUSE WHERE SHE DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DOING SOMETHING WRONG WITH HER EVERY MOVE. I SHOWED HER WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE IN A HAPPY AND HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP, I SHOWED HER WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE LOVED BY A REAL MAN! I SHOWED HER EVERYTHING YOU COULDN'T AND YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE YOU'RE A COWARD!" that seemed to set Logan off because the second the word "coward" came spilling out of Lando's mouth, Logan lunged towards him in an angry manner.
Before they could make any type of contact, Carlos was in the middle trying to set some type of boundaries between them.
"YOU GUYS ARE NOT FIGHTING IN MY HOUSE! LOGAN, OUT NOW! BEFORE I CALL THE COPS!" That seemed to be enough for Logan to walk away but not before stopping in front of me, his face so close to mine I could feel his breath against my skin.
"I hope I never see you again until your fucking funeral, slut." Logan walked away brushing his shoulder past mine as he did.
I knew Logan felt some type of way towards me since I left him while I was pregnant and refused to give in to all his promises of being a better man for me but hearing those words coming out of his mouth hurt. I always hoped we would be able to work it out for the sake of Yelena but after what he said, I don't know if we can, even if I wanted to.
Everything after what Logan said was blur, I don't remember him leaving, I don't remember Lando running after him and Carlos after Lando, but more importantly, I don't remember my legs giving out under my weight and me collapsing to the ground.
All at once everything started to hit me like a semi-truck. The pain in my knees after the fall, the ache in my heart but also the excruciating pain in my abdomen.
"BABE?! BABY ARE YOU OKAY? CARLOS GET THE CAR STARTED! WE HAVE TO TAKE Y/N TO THE HOSPITAL!"
-
The whole car ride to the hospital had to be the worst 15 minutes of my life. Every bump or sudden brake of the car increased the pain in my abdomen by 10. At one point it literally felt like there was an elephant sitting on me, restricting my oxygen intake.
When we finally arrived, Carlos quickly parked in front of the ER doors before rushing inside. Less than 30 seconds after running into the hospital, a group of doctors and nurses came running outside with a gurney.
Seeing them, Lando swung the car door open and quickly got out, allowing them better access to get to me.
Getting transferred from the back seat of the car to the gurney hurt just as suspected but they quickly rushed me in so they could evaluate my symptoms to tell me what's wrong.
No matter how much pain medication they gave me, the pain was still too much to bear.
"Do you want us to give you something to sedate you?" The student doctor said. She sounded genuinely hurt at hearing how much pain I was in.
"YES! PLEASE, I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!" I screamed and I watched as she grabbed the vile of liquid.
Just as the student doctor was done giving me the sedative, I heard the doctor come in.
"So, unfortunately I've got some ba-AH NO! WHAT DID YOU GIVE HER?"
"I- Uh, Gave her a sedative?"
"YOU'RE NEVER SUPPOSED TO DO THAT WITHOUT CONSULTING ME! THE SEDATIVE IS GOING TO DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD!" that was all I heard before slipping into unconsciousness.
-
After I fell unconscious and was of no use, my doctor made his way to the waiting room to have a talk with Lando in order to figure out the steps going forward.
Once Lando locked eyes with the doctor, he shot up from his seat "Doc, how is she??" Lando asked as he searched the doctors face for answers.
"Unfortunately your girlfriend has a rare condition that affects the babies called Monochorionic Twins, which is where the babies share the same placenta and amniotic sac which can cause tangling of umbilical cords, imbalance of nutrients, blood and problems to other vital organs. Your girlfriend also has a history of major bleeding, vomiting and dehydration during pregnancy which also puts her at risk. We have to operate to save them, the babies have a 25% chance of survival and would have to be in the NICU for many months whereas your girlfriend has a 75% of surviving with minimal damage to any part of her reproductive system. " the doctor started, he tried to look and sound as sympathetic as possible.
"What are you saying Doc?" Lando asked, his breath and hands shaky and his knees trembled beneath him.
"You have to choose who we save, your babies or your girlfriend."
-
Again, thank you guys so much for the overwhelming amount of support I've received in the past few days. I appreciate and love each and every single one of you guys and I hope you enjoy this part.
Unfortunately this series is coming to an end soon but I really don't want to say goodbye to it yet.

THE SHOWER | s.kerr
summary: caitlin, alannah and mackenzie have taken it upon themselves to plan yours and sam's baby shower.. what could go wrong?! [1.9k words]
pairing: fem!reader x sam kerr (sweet nora universe)
notes: trying to cheer myself up after sam doing her acl, I hope it cheers you all up too. I missed nora lots and lots.
august 2019, 3 months pregnant
IF THERE WERE THREE PEOPLE THAT you would never trust to plan literally anything, it would be Alanna, Mackenzie and Caitlin. The three of them together are like a taking time bomb that just cannot wait to go off. They are loud, messy, chaotic and almost always in disarray.
So when Sam came to you in the third month of your pregnancy and say that the three of them wanted to be the ones to plan your baby shower, you could've fainted then and there.
Sure, Sam had known the three of them for a long time. They were all really close friends of both you and Sam. Sam had been playing with Caitlin since she was 15, she was in your wedding for god's sake- it wasn't a far fetched idea to have them want to do something so big for you both. But with the three of them together, you weren't really sure how successful your baby shower would be.
You and Sam were completely shut out of the planning side of things. They told you nothing, and you mean literally nothing. Alanna had made the invites before even asking (or telling) Sam if they could plan the shower, claiming that she had an untapped passion for graphic design or something like that. All the information on there was all you got.
The shower was going to be held at your home in Perth during Matildas camp for the World Cup. That way all of Sam's teammates could be there and so could your families. A few of Sam's teammates from Chicago would fly out, Mackenzie ensuring their arrivals. By the time the shower came around you had been shunned away to Sam's parents house to get ready for your day.
Alanna had taken the liberty of finding you a dress, knowing exactly the kind of clothes that you would feel comfortable but confident in at 3 months pregnant. You slipped on your outfit and were subtly impressed with what Alanna had chosen for you.
"Wow, hello you" You couldn't help yourself but to let a smile fall upon your lips as Sam wolf-whistled at you as she came into her old bedroom. You were stood in front of the mirror, fixing up your hair before you left for the baby shower. Sam was dressed in a beige button up shirt with a pattern on it paired with some white linen shorts that you loved her in. She looked so gorgeous.
"Do you like it?" You asked, giving her a little spin.
"You look incredibly beautiful" She nodded softly as she grabbed hold of your hips and pulled you in closer. She placed a quick kiss on your lips before pulling away and hovering over them again. "Like stunning" She whispered, before kissing you again.
"I love you" You leant your forehead against hers, not wanting this moment to pass from you both.
"I love you more" She smiled.
"Are you two ready to head off?" Rox called up the stairs. You were driving in with Rox and Maddie, who were both waiting for you two downstairs.
"Yep! Give us like five minutes" Sam called back. You chuckled and leant into her embrace, leaning against her as she held you tight.
"Are you excited?" Sam said quietly, trying her best to saviour your time together before you went into a sea of people for the late morning.
"I'm more so nervous to see what they've done to our house" You closed your eyes and imagined the chaos that could only be caused by Cait, Alanna and Mackenzie.
"It's just a brunch babe" Sam kissed your forehead, already knowing what you were thinking. "Worst thing could be that they haven't put coasters out on the table" She admitted.
"It's really nice timber, Sam" You defended yourself and your over-protectiveness of your breakfast bar. Sam had it custom made for you when you said that you had always wanted one. It really was your first child in a way.
"Don't worry, I already warned Cait about the timber" Sam droned, rolling her eyes at you. "She's said she'll protect it with her life".
"She better" You raised your eyebrows.
"I doubt she would mess with Mrs Kerr" Sam smacked your bum lightly before leading you out from her childhood room and into the car.
"Oh I love it when you call me that"
You couldn't stop the butterflies in your belly from fluttering around, although you weren't sure if you baby was just moving around more than usual. The house looked amazing when you pulled up at the front. The garden had been decked out in balloons, a sign next to the front door that said 'Y/N & SAM'S BABY SHOWER' in a beautiful handwritten font.
You held your hands over your mouth in shock as you got out of the car with Sam's help. "Oh my god it looks so good," You could've sworn that there were tears welling up in your eyes.
Before you could even take it in fully, Alanna, Mackenzie and Caitlin opened the front door and cheered for your arrival.
"It looks so good!" You exclaimed, bringing all of them in for a bone-crushing hug. You were beyond impressed and far past grateful.
"We clean up nice" Macca chuckled, hugging you tightly.
"Do you wanna like have some faith in us?" Alanna laughed, rolling her eyes at you.
"I was nervous" You admitted, shrugging awkwardly.
"She was so nervous" Sam reiterated.
"Trust the process, Y/N" Caitlin said before leading both you and Sam inside.
The house looked amazing. There were fresh flowers throughout the entry way with more decorations strung up. You spied a few games set up on various tables before entering the back garden. You had to have had over thirty girls waiting for you and Sam in the back garden. Your close friends were there, as well as lots of Sam's teammates, members of your family sprinkled throughout.
You squealed as you spied some of your older friends who you hadn't had the chance to see in a while. Sam smiled as she watched you catch up with your mates, looking radiant.
"It looks just amazing guys," Sam brought the three of her friends in for a hug. "Thank you so so much" She smiled.
"We need to start charging for events I reckon" Macca chuckled.
"Oh yeah, definitely" Cait nodded in agreeance.
"So what do you need from me?" Sam asked, ready to go into mum-mode and help out her girls for the morning.
"Nothing" Cait shrugged. "Can you relax skip? It's your baby shower. Go sit with your wife and chill. Brunch will be out soon"
"How did you manage to order so much food for so early" Sam asked, the curiosity eating inside at her.
"We're making it" Caitlin said.
"Wait, what?"
You would be lying if you said you weren't nervous that Caitlin might burn down your kitchen. There seemed to be lots of raised voices coming from inside your home, majority coming from Lani telling the girls that they had been cooking the bacon for too long. A few of Sam's teammates offered their help. Emily headed in and started to bring out what was hot (and not burnt) with Steph running inside to save the day- her mimosa in hand.
Everyone was determined to not let you inside and look at the carnage you were convinced was happening in your kitchen. Instead, Sam just held your hand and distracted you by talking with your friends and family.
Soon enough, brunch was served and you were pleasantly surprised. Macca ended up coming out late to eat, still with an apron on, claiming she was just tidying up a little. You knew there was probably more than a little bit of tidying to do, and you were okay with that.
Since being pregnant, you found yourself needing more control over situations, but right now in this moment you were grateful that you and Sam had such beautiful friends who were willing to, not only put on such events for you both, but to make sure you were relaxed and enjoying yourself as they did.
After brunch the games began. Caitlin had the idea of a blindfolded nappy change race. You never thought you would see Hayley Raso facing off against Lydia Williams in who could change a baby doll's nappy the fastest. Lydia smoked her for the record.
Alanna had hidden baby photos of you and Sam around the garden for guests to find. To say you were shocked to have a picture of two-year-old sam sitting in your esky was an understatement.
Mackenzie wanted everyone to decorate a one-suit for your bub. You had Clare Polkinghorne claiming hers was the best as she drew a little tillies kit with her number on the back on hers. Sam tried her best to draw little hearts all around hers, but ended up with some red splotches more so than hearts- you loved it.
The shower went on for a while, way longer than you would have anticipated. It was an absolute hit and you were so grateful to have had to thrown for you.
As the night was winding down you found Cait, Macca and Lani cleaning up the kitchen together so you and Sam wouldn't have to.
"Hey," You said as the girls all turned around to face you. "Thank you so much for today. You have no idea how much it means to me that you guys did all of this"
"Stop it!" Macca exclaimed, reaching out to put a hand on your growing bump. "This is our niece of nephew we're talking about! Of course we wanted to do this" She gave you an extra squeeze before grabbing her dishes again to wash.
"I'm just so so happy" You looked at them all.
"So you had a good time?" Alanna asked, bringing you in for another hug.
"Such a good time" You smiled as you leant against her shoulder. You were so grateful.
"Good we're glad," She smiled at you once you pulled away, "Now get out of the kitchen so you don't combust watching Mackenzie attempt to wash dishes" She nodded over at Mackenzie who was trying her best to scrap at a pan that had definitely seen better days.
You offered them all another thank you before heading out into the garden again. You could here Mackenzie start to bicker with Alanna as you left.
"I'm actually really good at washing dishes" She defended herself.
"Not sure if that's really a brag there Macca" Lani shot back.
It became late in the afternoon before everyone had really started to head off. You and Sam were left sat in the back garden together, watching Macca, Caitlin and Lani as they picked up the last few things around the house.
"They're so good to us" You smiled, leaning your head against Sam's shoulder.
"They're good chicks" Sam nodded, never having felt so content that she did in that moment.
"Can't believe in six months we'll have a baby" You marvelled.
"Can't believe in six months our baby is going to have more than three aunties" She scoffed.
"That's on you there skip" You raised your eyebrows at her as a smirk grew on her lips.
"What can I say?" She shrugged, "I've got good teammates".
"The best teammates"

Maybe down the line, a little special snowflake Stark-Targ is born that rides a dragon and tamed a direwolf 👀 wink wink
I believe that this child must have heterochromia, having one grey eye and one violet eye as a symbol of the duality that lives in him/her.
If Daenys does decide that she wants children, Cregan would not leave her alone ever again. Their two-week long honeymoon is spent solely in his chambers, while they take no duties the entire time.
I already want to see Cregan falling in love with the princess, that giant man (to me that man is taller than anyone) would turn into a teddy bear for his wife.
They would def be the parents surrounded by irish twin siblings, perhaps even blessed with twins or triplets.
For God's sake, give the woman a break! 🤣 A pregnancy where you have one baby is already risky, now add to that having triplets and more in Asoiaf's world in the Targaryen family whose women have a long history of miscarriages, stillbirths, infant deaths and death in childbirth. If you want her to have multiple babies give her a set of twins and that's it 🤣🤣
I also think, after having kids and growing up to be more sure of herself, Daenys would be even more protective and outspoken when it comes to her children.
I think this would be wonderful as it would show a clear, realistic and consistent evolution of the character. Just as Cregan is softened by being close to Daenys' influence, she would become assertive and strong due to his influence.
Since becoming the Lady of the North would make Daenys unable to delegate tasks because of her shyness (although she seems more like an autistic person to me, as I am one myself and see many of the characteristics I have in her, but I assume nothing). She will have to toughen her temper to overcome obstacles to make her voice heard so that her opinions are taken into consideration and her orders obeyed.
More so as a mother because her babies depend on her and Cregan to protect them. Daenys would become a full dragon to defend her husband and children.
She will not sit and watch her kids be bullied like Rhaenyra did (she loves her mom, but admits that she could've done more).
I believe that if Rhaenyra had not been so negligent in protecting her children from rumors of bastardy, Daenys would not be so pathologically shy. Her shyness could be due to a very deep trauma from the many years of bullying she was subjected to by Alicent and Aegon while living in the Red Keep. When they call you a whore and accuse your children of being illegitimate bastards that you (the mother) say they are not, being the crown princess, logic dictates that you ask for a formal investigation to see who is defaming you and press charges against that person. You should not run elsewhere, that only adds to the rumors and subtly gives reason to the gossip. For nothing the wise old men say that a person who owes nothing, has nothing to fear.
"to me that man is taller than anyone" YOU GET ME. I know tom taylor is average height, around 5'8-5'9, but in my mind the Stark genes are soo tall and broad I gotta change it up a little bit 🤭
she takes after her mama, always wanting more kids from her handsome lovers 🙂↔️
in chap five, her character evolution is finally starting, now that she is away from society and its pressure. the things i have planned for her, poor girl
I did indeed give her traits like that, but I do not officially put labels on her due to not being fully educated on that topic and never writing of it before. So glad you made it out tho!
the last statement is so true, I feel like Rhaenyra did all of the Strongs dirty with not defending them clearly enough. She never complained to Viserys when he was still in good health, letting Alicent walk all over her even though Alicent was only Queen Regent and she was heir. If Rhaenyra stopped Aegon instead of just asking Harwin to look out for her, Daenys would have stayed the outgoing and extraverted girl she once was. I think Rhaenyra deeply regrets her mistakes that she made when she was younger, having Daenys when she was 19 and dealing with her own internal struggles. Sending her to the north, a less courtly place, seemed like a healthy option for her daughter (matchmaker Rhaenyra over here).
love hearing your opinions, I get so many ideas from awesome feedback like yours

*inhale* 🗣 Okay, listen, I'm going to rant over this moment again, but this time in a post so the world can read about it 🗣
It doesn't matter how many times I've watched Graduation part 2... But THIS HERE.
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE MOMENT. THIS IS WHAT THE ENTIRETY OF THIS SERIES HAS BEEN BUILDING UP TO FOR DRAKKEN AND SHEGO AND I JUST--
HE'S SO VULNERABLE IN THIS MOMENT. Look at that FACE. YOU KNOW WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS?! YOU CAN SEE SO MANY THOUGHTS GOING ON BEHIND THOSE EYES. THE EYES ARE THE WINDOW TO THE SOUL AND OH MY GODS IS IT FRAGILE NOW.
THE MAN FEELS INSECURITIES, DOUBTS, WORRIES, A HINT OF BASHFULNESS BUT HE'S ALSO SCARED, ASHAMED, TERRIFIED EVEN; HE WANTS TO RUN AWAY, BE ANYWHERE BUT HERE! his face SCREAMS: "What am I doing here?" and/or "Do I even deserve this?"
BUT MOST OF ALL: "What will others think of me now?"
And then ALL of his questions get answered in the form of his partner in crime's expression: A genuine heartfelt and sincere smile that says "You deserve this."
Shego, the femme fatale who is wanted in 11 countries. The villain who insisted by all means necessary that she's evil through and through and will NEVER be a hero or want to be associated with heroes STILL stands by his side. Do you know what the most important aspect of this very moment is? Shego doesn't stand on 'equal' grounds as him and she doesn't mind it, she lets it happen.
Shego and Drakken's dynamic throughout the story has been Boss-and-Sidekick for the longest of times. Both of them fought: Drakken for wanting to feel superior over EVERYONE and Shego wanting as much power (and/or more) as Drakken would have when they had taken over the world.
However, the happenings in graduation changed everything and now the world recognizes Drakken as a hero, a world savior, and a protector of peace. But if it weren't for Shego flying all the way with Ron to the Lorwardian ship, Drakken couldn't have possibly stopped the invasion.
Look at Shego's expression. She genuinely feels happy for Dr. D. She could've stepped in at ANY point before or during this (press)conference, demanding her own medal and telling everyone that it was in fact her who helped Drakken save them all. But she doesn't. Shego knows how important this moment is for Dr. Drakken. After years of hearing his stories and knowing how much recognition means to him; she lets him have his moment in the limelight, the sun, and she's going to let him bask in all of it for as long as he needs to. Because the most important thing is that she knows what she did and that's enough: She went into space to bring back the man she wanted to rule the world together with. Never ever again would she let Dr. Drakken think, for even a second, that she'd abandon him.
Again, look at the distance between them in this shot.
Yes, the distance is closer but then
As close as they can possibly get in public
They're on even grounds now. Drakken wants to let the world and most importantly Shego KNOW that they are a team and that they saved the world together.
I once saw someone pointing out that they looked very uncomfortable in the last image, but let me put it like this: - Prior in the episode Shego and Drakken almost flew into each other's arms but became VERY reluctant, why??? Because Kim and Ron were there! What must those brats think of them!? Certainly, they cannot show any weaknesses in front of their arch nemeses!
And now let me show this again:
They're embracing each other... in FRONT OF THE WORLD LEADERS. OF COURSE IT'S A BIT AWKWARD, YOU'D BE AWKWARD TOO, but the KEY here is that They're NOT looking away from each other like they did before.
In the previous scenario, they avoided each other's eyes: no connection, desperately trying to show no weaknesses, trying to change the subject matter at all costs.
Now they lock eyes, and they read each other. How I read it (both facial expression as body language): Drakken: Hopeful, nervous, apologetic "Did I hurt you? I hope I did not", kind of embarrassed because his foliage acted out so assertively by his thoughts of wanting Shego to be at least on the same level as him for the world to know. Shego: Surprised but not at all distressed, disgusted or upset about this sudden change. Most of all, I think she's deeply moved: Drakken always called her a 'sidekick', but now? She's recognized by him and the world as his partner. If you look at her face, those eyes seem to be on the verge of tearing up and that smile, how shy and embarrassed it may look holds warmth and happiness.
Both of them acknowledge each other's worth and in a certain way, they took over each other's world.

Can you write a pregnancy scare with Jamie?
[ not our time ] j. drysdale
paring : Jamie Drysdale x fem!reader
summary : after she’s late for her period, (Y/N) tells Jamie about her suspicions and he tells her to take a pregnancy test to make sure
warning(s) : mentions of pregnancy
author’s note : i’ve been wanting to write something like this so ty for requesting :)
quick announcement : i’ve made a google form you can submit to be added to (or taken off) the taglist that will be at the end of every fic from here on out !
༺═──────────────═༻
The only reason she didn't immediately get on the phone with Jamie was because she knew he is on a plane and on his way back from his week-long roadie to the east coast. She probably won'[t even tell him when he walks in the door because she knows how tired he's going to be.
She should. She could be carrying his baby.
Getting sick when she doesn't normally throw up was definitely a red flag. Then she realized she's late for her period. She's rarely ever late.
If she is pregnant, she wants Jamie to be there if the test comes back positive. She doesn't want him to be on a plane somewhere over the United States when she finds out she's carrying their child.
Before she can talk herself out of telling Jamie, a key jingles in the door and it swings open. (Y/N) looks over at the door to see a happy Jamie walk into the apartment. "Hi, baby," Jamie says.
"Hey," she replies as Jamie pulls his equipment bag and suitcase through the front door. "How was the trip? Congratulations on the wins against Philly, Buffalo, and Washington, by the way."
Jamie leaves his equipment bag by the door with his suitcase when he is finally inside. The door closes behind him and he walks over to the couch.
He tilts (Y/N)'s head back and presses a kiss to her lips. She smiles into the upside down kiss. "Wish you could've been there," he says as he pulls back. "Z set me up for an insane goal against Philly and I can't believe that it actually went into the net. That's Trevor, I guess."
"I saw the goal," she tells him. "It was very impressive, Jamie. I'm very proud of you."
A big smile forms on Jamie's lips and (Y/N) feels her heart flutter in her chest. He's so pretty, even now when he looks exhausted.
She decides in that moment to tell him.
"So, um, I have to tell you something you should know," (Y/N) says. She watches Jamie's smile falter. "It's nothing bad, I think, but it's something you should definitely know."
Jamie walks around the couch and sits next to her. "Is everything okay?" he questions. "I mean, did something happen?"
She gnaws on her bottom lip. "It's more like something didn't happen," she admits. "I haven't gotten my period yet and I've been really sick recently. I think I might be pregnant. I haven't taken a test yet because I wanted you here in case."
Another smile breaks out on his lips. "You might be pregnant?" he asks. "Oh my God. That's amazing. Do you need me to run to the store and grab tests? Snacks? Anything you need."
"I have tests," she tells him. "I just haven't taken one yet. I've been waiting for you to get back."
"Go do it," Jamie replies. "I'll be right here when you get the results."
She nods and gets off the couch. "I'll be right here."
With shaking hands, she grabs the box of three pregnancy tests out of the drawer in the bathroom. She pees on all three of them and sets them on the sink counter while she waits for the results.
(Y/N) sits on the floor with her back against the counter that the tests are sitting on. Her head leans against the counter and her eyes are closed while she waits.
Honestly, she doesn't know what kind of results she's hoping for.
If it's positive then she will love this baby with everything in her. It's a part of both of them and she will love them with her entire heart. If it's negative then it's just not their time and they can actually try later on.
It isn't the end of the world if these tests come back negative.
A soft knock rings throughout the bathroom. "You okay?" jamie asks through the door. "Do you need anything?"
"Can you come in?" she asks.
The door slowly swings open and (Y/N) stands up in front of the tests. "Did you look yet?" She shakes her head in reply. "Come on. Lets look together, okay?"
She nods and Jamie takes her hand. With a sigh, she turns around and looks down at the tests on the countertop.
One line on every single one of them. All of them are negative.
"Maybe it's too early," she tells Jamie. "I'm only a few days late for my period." Tears prick her eyes and it surprises her. She didn't think she would be this upset at a negative pregnancy test.
Jamie's happy smile when she told him that she might be pregnant pops into her mind and it breaks her heart. The tears roll down her cheeks.
"(Y/N), baby," Jamie coos. "It's okay. It just isn't our time right now."
She wraps her arms around his torso and buries his face into his chest while silent tears run down her face. "You were so happy when I told you I thought I was pregnant," she says. "I'm sorry, Jamie."
"We'll have a baby one day," Jamie tells her. "I promise. One day those results will be positive."
(Y/N) nods and feels Jamie wrap his arms around her shoulders. "I didn't think I'd be this upset," she admits. "I haven't even thought about having kids until there was a possibly I was having a kid."
He backs away and looks down at her. "I want kids with you," Jamie tells her. "Maybe when we're both more prepared, yeah?"
"Yeah," she agrees. "And when we talk more about it."
Jamie smiles and nods in agreement. "Do you want to eat some ice cream and watch Criminal Minds?" he asks. "I think we have a little bit left if you want some ice cream."
"Absolutely."

So, I assume cores are like a ghosts version of autistic special interests, and assumedly not everyone becomes a ghost?
But what if Jack does, his core could be ghosts itself, and is one of the strongest fresh ghosts to be out there, one worthy of rivalling king Danny.
Oo! I like this. I haven't gotten too far into any world building, but let's see if we can do this some justice. I haven't ever written Jack, so this might be absolutely horrible. Also, most of my knowledge is purely fanon or what I made up on the fly.
Idk if this is what you wanted, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. <2
Jack Fenton had always loved ghosts. His parents read him ghost stories and myths and legends when he was growing up, his sister was very into the dark and macabre, and his brother even took him ghost hunting a few times!
Yes, the Nightingale family had been witch hunters, but an interest change came with the name change. It was a package deal, really. One that know one really registered until much later down the line.
At the end of his senior year, Jack meet Madeline. If you asked her, it was love at first sight. If you asked him, it was love at first fight.
Maddie, as she liked to be called, had been raised by her grandmother. The woman taught Maddie everything she knows about the supernatural, claiming to be a medium. No one ever believed her.
Jack had a friend throughout high school named Vlad. Vlad was, in every sense of the word, paranoid. He had measures against everything supernatural, metaphysical, real, ect. If you could think of it, he probably had something to counter it.
The three made quite the team in college. Maddie and Jack had applied to the same colleges, only going to the one that accepted them both. Vlad followed after them, saying that he didn't trust Jack to leave him on his own.
"Ridiculous!" Jack had whispered to Maddie, "He just doesn't like being alone."
Ghosts were the common interest between the three, having grow up around some kind of exposure, so when someone offhandedly mentions a theoretical way that a living being could enter the Realm of the Dead, well, they had to see if it was actually possible.
Which leads them to nearly twenty-three years later. Their research had gotten Vlad hospitalized, so he wasn't there to share in the success, but that hadn't stopped Jack and Maddie. They'd worked for years to build a portal into the Afterlife for the opportunity to study a real life ghost.
Their research, of course, had been shunned in many occult circles, but that's okay. Those guys were all quacks and crazies anyway. Who needs their approval?
Ghosts were the emotions of a formerly living being that had imprinted themselves on ectoplasm. The proof? There was a ghost attack on their college during their junior year. Everyone thought they had staged it because no one saw the ghost, but Jack, Maddie, and Vlad knew. They had gathered the small bit of glowing green goo to study it.
That glowing green goo had been what had powered up the portal when they got it build. They used it like a battery.
So why hadn't it worked?
Well, it worked eventually, but why had it taken nearly four hours after the initial activation of the portal?
Regardless, they had been right and now Amity Park was full of proof to prove themselves to everyone that had ever laughed at them! If only Vlad could've shared in the glorious moment. He's not dead! They just...lost contact shortly after Danny was born.
Jumping forward almost two decades, Jack and Maddie were sat down by their children, Jasmine and Danny. Apparently, Danny had been the one to activate the portal by dying. It was...a lot to process, but they were happy he had come to them, even if it had taken two years.
It made them rethink a lot of their thoughts over the years. But, you can't really teach an old dog new tricks, no matter how much you explain and demonstrate it.
They didn't hurt Danny! God, no. They'd already done that enough.
No, Jack and Maddie redoubled their efforts to study ghosts with the added intention of understanding them.
Everyone in Amity Park know that there's at least a 90% chance they'll become a ghost when they die. That is quickly lowered to a 50% chance when the understanding that intent matters in all situations, even death. Those who want to rest won't come back as a ghost. Those who have something to finish or do have a bigger chance of coming back. Maybe not with all their memories, but they might.
Maddie, when she died of a combination of radiation - because ectoplasm is barely radioactive, but consistent exposure for most of her life doomed her - and old age, wanted to rest. She had done enough in her life, so she was ready to leave it behind.
Jack, when he died of the same combination with the addition of pneumonia, wanted to be with Maddie. But he also wanted to finally finish what he and Maddie and Vlad had started all those years ago.
Upon his death, Jack remembered a conversation he'd had shortly after Danny had come clean about being Phantom.
"Dann-o?" Jack had asked one morning.
"Hey, dad," Danny had tried to smile, but he seemed so tired. He was always tired. Had he always been this tired? Was this a new thing? Jack was horrified that he didn't know.
Jack had sat down next to his son on the couch, not too close as to be imposing, but close enough to be comforting. "What's wrong?"
Danny took a very long time to answer, words seeming to fall apart in his mouth. "Are you and mom going to keep trying to capture ghosts?"
Jack blinked. Why wouldn't they? There was still so much to know! So many theories to prove or disprove! So much locked potential that no one was ever going to look into again simply because no one else thought it possible!
"I mean-" Danny scrunched his nose in thought, trying to piece the words together in a way that someone who couldn't read his thoughts or be in his head could understand. "You and mom have worked to study ghosts for basically your whole lives. But, now that you know I am one, are you going to stop? Like, are you going to stop hunting them - us - down? Are you guys going to keep trying to hurt us?"
Oh. Oh. He's- Danny, he's- he's worried that they'll hurt him? "Oh, Danny," he said, "It was never our intention to hurt you."
"But-!"
"But we can't just drop everything. We've been doing this our whole lives almost, like you said. What are we supposed to do if we stop it all?"
Danny didn't say anything. In fact, he looked devastated. Why..?
Oh. Oh.
"It's not like that!" Jack was quick to say, "We're-we're not going to hunt ghosts any longer. If anything, we'll probably just want to ask some questions? I don't really know. I'll have to talk to your mom about it some more, but- We don't want to hurt you, Danny. It was never our intention."
Danny had been very quiet and a bit distant for the rest of the week after that. Unless, he'd always been like that? But he opened back up a little while later.
Jack and Maddie had never really completed their research on ghosts, so it's no surprise that one of them would come back as the thing they spent their lives after. But now came the question of what Ghost!Jack's obsession is.
It's usually seen as insensitive to ask a ghost what their Obsession is. But, if you know what their Obsession is, most are beyond thrilled to share it with you, basically info dumping everything they know about the subject, sharing related items, and learning more with you. It's a fun experience for all involved, especially if two or more ghosts have the same or similar enough Obsessions.
Really, it shouldn't have been a surprise that Jack Fenton's Obsession was Ghosts, considering his life.
Once that was a widely known fact, though, some began to wonder what his core and powers would be. Aside from, of course, the basic power set that all ghosts get when they become a ghost.
Cores and powers go hand in hand with a ghost's Obsession. Sometimes they amplify one another, sometimes they compliment one another. Very rarely are they the same thing.
For example, King Phantom's core is ice, his Obsession is protection, and his powers relating to that of ice, mostly offensive and defensive focuses. Ember's core is fire, her Obsession music, and her powers are similar to those of the sirens of myths.
You get the idea.
Then again, the Fenton Family has never been normal, has it? Not even as far back as when they were the Nightingale Family.
King Phantom had figured out one day what his father's powers were, and, consequently, his strength. It was an accident, really! They hadn't seen each other in a while, and Jack's hugs were already monstrously strong before he'd become a ghost-
Who knew that ghosts could get shattered spines?
Jack Fenton, upon becoming the very thing he'd spend his life dedicated to, gained the ability to copy another ghost's power via manipulation of his core.
While most ghosts' cores were a single solid substance like ice or fire or shadows, Jack's core was ectoplasm. Able to change and adapt to his needs, not set in any one way.
Phantom was beyond glad his father, who became known as The Professor, was on his side.

Who would get snapped by Thanos?
(also on Ao3)
Of all places, he was buying fucking cigarettes when it happened.
Jason was digging through his wallet when the woman behind him suddenly screamed. He whirled around and—
Hang on, didn't she have a kid with her? He could've sworn there was a toddler whining about candy just now. But when he looked, his eyes were met with a pile of dust and the lady staring at her hand, face pale.
Behind her were a group of teenagers. The shortest one—couldn't have been more than 14—turned to the others and said, "Guys, something's wrong." But before anyone could react, his skin cracked and he crumbled to pieces, leaving his friends scrambling.
The cashier dialed the police. Someone demanded to know what was going on. Without his helmet or guns, it wasn't as though Jason could say he got this all taken care of. Cigarettes forgotten, he slipped away from the crowd and called Bruce.
No answer. So he tried again, and on the third time he left an expletive-filled voicemail before hopping on his bike.
He zipped past the changing signals and swerved around the three-car pileup forming as he tried Dick's number. But all he got was that godawful singsong voicemail that Dick recorded years back.
That was two down already.
No.
No, he wasn't gonna think like that. Those two knuckleheads were fine. Hell, with a family of detectives, they were probably cracking the case as Jason broke a red light.
He picked another number.
It clicked.
"Roy, are you—"
"Jason." Roy's ragged breathing almost made his words unintelligible. "It's Lian. She—she..."
"It's happening everywhere," Jason said. "I don't know who's behind this but I'm gonna keep you updated."
There was nothing on the other line. Not a breath or panicking keen. His heart dropped.
"Roy?"
After several attempts, he had no choice but to hang up.
He didn't even wait for his motorcycle to stop completely, dumping it next to the others.
"Guys?"
The Cave was far, far too quiet. Jason grabbed his domino and a batarang lying on a bench.
"Hello? Anyone?"
He stuck a comm in his ear. It crackled to life.
"Guys, we have a situation. Is anyone reading me right now?"
Silence.
He spotted a familiar wheelchair in front of the glowing Batcomputer and let out a sigh of relief.
"Oracle! I'm glad you're—"
But there was no red hair or keyboard clacks to go with it. A steaming coffee cup was tipped over, soaking a case file and dripping onto the floor.
Alfred had to be okay. He's Alfred.
Jason raced upstairs, almost missing the three piles on the couch with purple, yellow, and orange video game controllers buried among them. In the cat bed is another one. His lunch crawled up his throat, but he swallowed it down and moved to the next room.
"Alfred?" His boots echoed through the halls with each step. "Anyone here?"
He checked the kitchen, but it wasn't Alfred he found. Rather it was Damian, staring at his ash-covered fingertips just like the lady at the store.
"They were right here." Damian's voice trembled. "Me and Cain and Pennyworth, we were talking and... and..."
He stumbled forward. Jason caught him.
"I got you. I got you." He wrapped his arms around the kid.
"Akhi?"
Something about it made Jason's blood run cold.
"I don't feel so good."
"Don't say that. You're fine." He squeezed tighter.
"I—I don't want to go. Not again." Damian's fists—oh God, they're so tiny—clung to Jason's shirt.
But all the pleading in the world amounted to nothing as the atoms of his baby brother slipped through his fingers. And even though it felt like everything was bubbling to the surface, he couldn't scream or cry out. All he could do was kneel there, numb, wondering who would have the audacity.
After who-knows-how-long, he felt Ace nuzzle against his ribs.
"You're still here."
"Arf!"
"You're right." Jason swiped the tears from his face and stood up. "Fetch me my guns. There will be hell to pay."
