Everyone’s hoping for a kiss next episode, meanwhile I’m still stuck thinking about these two scenes and how they connect
Blake thought she lost Yang in volume 8 and was willing to jump after her and almost did if it wasn’t for Weiss. Now that she knows Yang is alive she’s willing to make sure what happened in volume 8 doesn’t happen again and focuses on staying by Yang’s side and keeping their promise of protecting each other

rwby julie and the phantoms au featuring dead girl band rwby and jaune as the conduit. but like, jaune who just half-way cheated his way into music school
the year is 1995 and the girl band RWBY is a rising power in the indie music world. composed of four talented, each with a rich and interesting backstory for the public to latch onto, they’re well on their way to becoming LGBT icons- if not actual stars. weiss, blake, and yang are twenty and ruby is eighteen.
weiss schnee is the daughter of silicone valley tycoon jacques schnee, who made headlines when she cut off all her hair and ran away from home to join a queer girl band. she’s the second schnee daughter to leave home, winter having joined the military back in 1992. she’s the band’s lead vocalist, though she occasionally plays violin in tracks that they write it into.
blake belladonna is already a famous singer. she sprung onto the scene in 1992 in a duo known as “bellataurus”. acting as the full sonny and cher package, adam taurus served as both older boyfriend and older manager until blake broke from him and helped to form RWBY in 1994. she took her vocals, her piano skills, GUITAR skills, and her songwriting skills with her.
yang xiao long and ruby rose are legacies of the highest order. summer, raven, qrow, and tai formed a band when they were kids and they became some of the biggest rockstars of the seventies and eighties- and later some of the biggest scandals. raven and tai’s messy, public breakup after the birth of their daughter signaled the band’s death- but then the birth of tai and SUMMER’S child signaled an even bigger scandal. the tabloids had an absolute field day over the new baby.
yang learned lots of instruments, but mainly took up the drums from her dad. the same went for ruby, but she mainly stole qrow’s guitar and made him teach her to shred.
unfortunately, the media never stopped following the two kids around, even through ruby’s transition. in a mixed bag for the remnants of STRQ and their children, the media circus that followed ruby rose coming out as a girl in NINETEEN NINETY TWO. the remaining members of STRQ still had a lot of clout and fully put their support behind her, but transmisognyny’s a bitch and it still followed them everywhere. yang coming out publicly as a lesbian neither helped nor hindered the situation, but it did make ruby feel a bit less alone.
the girls formed their band about a year before their- uh, UNTIMELY deaths in 1995. this came 3 days after a confrontation between blake and adam, where she promised that she would never, EVER date him again. she wouldn’t even work with him again. she and her band were going to become stars and actually help make social changes, instead of them just bullying her into going along with whatever THEY want from her and keeping her mouth shut because politics kills careers.
they’re playing the ORPHEUM! the theater where so many bands have gotten their big break! she doesn’t need him now and she didn’t need him then.
eating bad street hot dogs after the warm up for a performance that blake promised adam 3 days ago would be the best that she ever gave- well. that’s just a weird coincidence, right?
cue 2020.
jaune arc has recently gotten into his first semester at a prestigious music college in the LA area, close to his family’s home where he still lives. the garage/studio out back remains largely untouched. half of that’s because cleaning the place out would be a lot of work, but half of it’s because his parents feel bad about the idea of cleaning out all of STRQ’s old recording equipment that both summer and tai promised they “didn’t want anymore” while selling the house in the wake of their daughters’ deaths.
it’s not like the area is really suitable as a garage, and the arcs can spare a little room just in case those people ever change their minds.. even though they haven’t in twenty five years.
jaune’s house isn’t completely empty because he still has one of his older sisters going to college in LA at the same time, but it’s preeetttyy empty. his parents are hands off at this point and don’t even wonder how their baby who never even took any music lessons has gotten into a school like this.
it’s not like he doesn’t sing and sing pretty well, but they’re not even certain he can read music. spoiler alert: he can’t.
jaune is actually VERY good at working by ear and performing, but his music education growing up was lacking. on all levels. his parents encouraged him to do sports as his primary activity and he had no time for anything else and his public school music ed did not get him what he needed to go to music school.
frankly, he doesn’t even know what a treble clef is called. so. he’s a bit behind when going into his college classes. he was only able to fake the paperwork to get into music theory II, but considering that he’s. uh, completely unaware of what those notes mean he’s a bit fucked.
he’s always just been able to pull the song out of his ass because he listened to enough music to learn stuff by ear, but now he’s supposed to work through all this stuff with notation and he MIGHT BE DYING
he’s assigned to a group project with ren and nora and pyrrha and, well, thank god pyrrha notices and is kind enough to try to fill in the cracks.
but there’s a lot of cracks, you know? he’s barely pulling the grades that he needs to not get kicked out of the program at the moment, and he’s not entirely sure how to go about getting an accompanist for his end of semester showcase and ren and nora are already working together (they both play guitar and sing together) and pyrrha’s a soloist and -
oh god, he’s going to get kicked out of this program, isn’t he?
pyrrha keeps talking him down out of the anxiety because she is very kind and has a very big crush because jaune still has noticed that she’s a pop star that wanted to (but is failing to) have a normal college experience.
she lets him borrow her copy of RWBY’s first and only album and lets him take it home to listen to it. he decides to listen to it in the studio because he knows that’s where music, at one point, happened.
and it of course summons the souls of all four girls. they have ghostly mischief as they try to figure out how to make things work, and realize that while people who aren’t jaune can’t see them- people can HEAR THEM. and then when they play along with jaune for his end of semester show case- they realize that people can SEE THEM when they play with him.
pyrrha is confused about why jaune’s hologram band looks so much like RWBY, and she’s a little jealous and hurt that he’s been keeping this from her while letting HER bear the brunt of helping him with his struggles. jaune doesn’t know how to say that yeah, those are the actual ghosts of RWBY.
petty drama, petty drama, the girls are feeling suffocated by the fact that they’re actually dead and can’t interact with anyone who’s alive. ruby decides to go clear her head and meets another, very sweet and enthusiastic ghost named penny who likes to skateboard.
penny is very sweet and ruby has what is known in show biz as a CRUSH. ruby learns a bit about how this ghost stuff works from her (some powers, about the unfinished business being what’s tying them to the land of the living, that she is VERY GAY) and she comes back to her friends to say hello yes i know things now and am also gay. wasn’t positive about that before but it’s a fact now
here’s where i lose my thread and am too tired to find it again but other things
1. ironwood is the villain of this. if you’re familiar with jatp, he serves the same function as caleb covington if not the exact same motives. he seals souls to him by a contract but with the express purpose of building a safe afterlife for ghosts... by making sure that all of them are under his control. winter, who died in one of the united state’s middle eastern campaigns is his right hand ghost.
weiss is majorly conflicted by this because. it’s winter, you know? it’s winter. and it seems like this guy is trying to make things better for ghosts, right? he’s got a homebase and he can make them visible sometimes and make it so they can eat food and lots of stuff. but it comes with a heavy level of control.
he doesn’t go after the girls until later because he thinks that they’ll come back, but when he DOES... the fact that he owns penny’s soul and doesn’t see her or any of the souls under his control as full people comes up in an ugly way.
2. adam taurus is the trevor wilson of this, but waaaayyy worse. he did in fact kill the girls and pillaged what he could of blake’s songs to record and put out under his own name. he‘s a big star, but a fading one, and he has a few vengeful ghost coming for him.
3. winter is a ghost, but whitley is a ghost of himself. at this point he’s forty and still doesn’t even know what he wants because he’s molded himself into what his dad wants so thoroughly. getting him to realize that he wants more and wants things for himself definitely comes up. winter also helps take down ironwood and free the souls. eventually
4. jaune IS a necromancer. he’s going to be able to see penny and others and eventually can give ghosts the power they need to be seen whenever they want. RWBYJNPR eventually becomes a big band that plays together sometimes
5. raven only came back for a few days for yang and ruby’s funeral before disappearing. qrow fell from grace quite dramatically when he accused adam taurus of murder with no evidence and became the laughing stock of america. he kept trying to find something that would fill the holes in his life, but he hasn’t lucked out with that yet... except the alcoholism, maybe.
tai and summer are still together, but they’re pretty miserable and they moved far away from LA to get out of the spotlight.
RWBY gets summer, tai, and qrow back together on purpose... and raven shows up when she sees her dead daughter singing on national television. the STRQ reunion is awkward and stilted, but things get better from there.
strq instruments
summer: vocalist with some piano
raven and qrow: bass and standard guitar respectively with some vocals
tai: drummer with some vocals
6. pyrrha and jaune eventually actually become the great duo that adam tried to market himself and blake as. sorry not sorry
7. not sure how they do it but they DO prove that adam murdered them and all of them including qrow get Vindication TM
8. the bumbleby isn’t a big plot point but they were dancing around getting together when they died and it happens slowly once they’re back <3

Adam is related to the god of darkness, as much Ruby is related to the god of light.
Or at least, I found something interesting (parallels you know)
I warn you immediatly, don’t expect anything of me. This theory is absolutely garbage... And tbh i’m scared to post it, because I’m affraid about comment people comments... Yeah RWBY’s fandom is terrifying. Please be kind I’m autistic. Before to start you have to know that english isn’t my native language... Sorry for my mistakes... Oh I wanted to thanks my best friend who translate 50% of my theory in english.
AND ALSO. Don’t tell me that wanting Adam to come back is harmful for abused survivors. I’ve been victim of child abuse, and I kept suffuring until my 20 years, due to my past abusives bests friends. So please stay cool.
Why hope his return despite confirmation?
It may be a long time that Kerry confirmed the Adam’s death, it remains a lot of points to brought up. During the interview, it’s important to know that everything is subject to interpretation, and some details didn’t escape me to make me pick over factors that go in my direction. In the first place, before say that he were really die, he answers to that question : “Was there ever doubt that Adam was an unredeemable character or was there a chance that he could have been redeemed ?” It’s pretty funny that Kerry doesn't employing the past when he answers. He doesn't said “he WASN'T irredeemable” no It’s different. He litteraly said : (paraphase for the first one) “I think he's redeemable” and “I wouldn't say he's unredeemable”. Use time present for a dead person is strange. Then he adds everybody has the right to have a second chance but that the circonstances in which he ran into with Blake didn’t help him at all. At the moment where he had to reveal his potential death, Kerry forced a smile and took a big second to say « yes ». After being interrupted, because on of the animator rejoiced of the news, he right away resumed to output on the tone of joke : “yes he's dead, unless with do a Darth Maul. (character who survived to fatal injuries) Ah. Nah he's... We. [Interrupt]. He fall in water fall, there is no body, but like. He got stabbed twice, and hit his head on the way down, like... He's dead." (Paraphrase cuz I don't fully understand why he's saying) "Now the fanbase hate me, that's fine." The fact that the creator make a reference at the character of Darth Maul, it customs clearance of a thing : he’ll not lie. If our beloved faunus comes back, Kerry will already warned us. He wasn’t obligated to say this sentence, mostly that he introduced it after beint interrupted. Furthermore, he sorely insisted on the manner he was killed, to the extent that he looked hesitant in the choice of his words. Others will interpret it like « yes but for him it was so evident to think him dead, that he feels confuse to explain why ». The words of the co-writer are absolute, he wasn’t obligated to do that. I’m not saying is lying, on the contrary. Just because Adam is dead, doesn't mean he stays dead (it sounds stupid, but you'll understand). For the case of Roman and Pyrrha, it had a sens to exclude them psysically. It had repercussions on their entourage. For the case of Adam, it’s the same with Yang and Blake… But not totally. Fans say that by taking away his life, they finally got rid of their demon and that they don’t have to feel haunted anymore. However, even the song « Nevermore » confirmed this, it’s not a victory. They maybe have the feeling of being free of this monster, but something else going continue to curse them : the fact to take a life. As inhuman a person is, we can’t not be affected by this act. However, if they aren’t affected, it’s a huge idleness and a very bad writing lmao. These two girls maybe consider themselves happy to get rid of him for the present moment, but I expect that the karma come to hit them at Atlas. I can't blame them to have kill him, he was a threat, i'm aware of that (btw I've nothing against Bumbleby dw). Which gives hope a sequel  for this character, it’s one of « Nevermore »’s passage :
“Another soul consumed by hate and spite Another destroyed life There's no pleasure, there's no joy It's just a story of a boy who lost his way Into shadows strayed He'll see the light of day”
It isn't without know that the musics of Jeff Williams & Casey Lee Williams have a canonical aspect. The best exemple before anything else, it’s Divide and Sacrifice. The « He’ll see the light of a day » can’t be overlooked. I already see some purists come back for the reinterpretation of this passage, because the refrain start with « Nevermore ». This will implies « Nevermore he’ll see the light of day ». In the literal meaning it’s true, but as it happens, we speak about the fact that he lost his way, and that in this shady way he’ll see the light of day. « Lost his way » is related to the fact that he’s consumed by the revenge and the hate, but he never came out. The last sentence refers to the fact he’s going to come out of it. Add « Nevermore » is stupid, because he always lived in this state of mind. He can't nevermore see the light again, since he has never seen it. Second reason for which this interpretation is wrong, is that it breaks the structuring of the verses. For the first choir it works because it gives « That’s in the past and I won’t be controlled ー Nervermore ». But for the second… « Not dying now, we’re protecting our own ー Nevermore ». It lost its sens, and it implies that they will never protect each other. If a schema applies for one, it should be the same for the other. Another reason to doubt of his definitive departure of the series : the lack communication around the character and of the « final » episode which concerned him. I’m not saying that like « they don’t give enough attention to the character », no it’s really something. Why Adam doesn't appear on the promotional poster, when everyone knew he was coming back? Each episodes are review by guests like comedians, at the exception of one : the 12 one, where Adam die. Even for the season 4 they hadn’t done something like that. Strangely, for the occasion they could have invited the one who’s playing Adam, Garrett Hunter, considering that it will be the last episode where he’ll act. It’s the end of the character that he incarnates. Fans could learn more on the dubbing actor, or the antagonist himself, but there was nothing of that. Cause yes, it stays questions withouts answers. Why Adam can’t use his semblance without his weapon ? How his semblance can project such complex shapes ? Why showed the mark SDC to already expel it ? And as we know, CRWBY never confirmed the type of faunus he was… I’ll come back on this subject. In addition of that, Garrett Hunter didn’t address any thank you messages for those who followed him in the whole series, I want to say that it’s truly strange.
Tumblr media
Udapte about Garrett Hunter (Adam’s VA)
Garrett Hunter doesn't confirm Adam's death, people think he probably doesn't know anything about it, but I doubt it. During a live of Mega64, somoene talk about performing as Voice Acting. And then, Garrett talks about his “death”. He uses words like “I was killed, I think”, “No body, no deads”, “I keep my fingers crossed”, but at no time does he says “Adam is dead, he will not come back”. On the contrary, he adds “never say never” and he pretends to pray for his return. VAs know things about their characters. Pyrrah's VA knew that her character was going to die from the beginning of the story, and Yang's VA knew she would lose her arm, and that as soon as she was used to her voice. And what's very encouraging is that the VA Pyrrha had confirmed in an interview and Twitter, the death of his character. And there, Garrett mentions word for word that Kerry released during the RWBY Rewind: Darth Maul (twice) But if there was no hopes, he would say he is dead. In this case, we have not learned more. And if he knows of his return, why tell us? And Kerry either did not confirm 100% his death, basically he declares “He died, unless maybe we decide to bring him back”. Another contradiction with the voice actor of Adam. The guy had the balls to says clearly, that the antagonist he embodied, was killed without them using his potential. But , when his buddy reply “everyone is it saying that your death was bullshit”, Garrett says he loved the scene about his confrontation between Yang and Blake, because it was a retaliation of the two characters on him. It's just a big mind fuck at this point. My guess is that he likes this scene because karmas are finally shared between Adam and Bumbleby, and he knows what will happen to his character. Why would he says that Adam's potential was not used, while he loves his death scene? Because he will be able to make a fresh start. That's my thoughts. I know that he must have trouble with his character, because this one receives ALL the salt of the fandom on the face, and there, they will offer him a way to make his character appreciable. And pretending not to know what will happen to the former White Fang leader is completely stupid. The VA know the fate of their character. Kerry and Miles must have planned his come back in advance, they can't hesitate when they’ll write it in the script, because the situation requires it. Why ? Because his branding S.D.C. directly link to the volume that is focused on Atlas, in the one that will arrive in a few months.
Confirmation of VA about Pyrrah's Fate Confirmation of the VA in about her death
and she declares this just after the first view of the last episode of volume 3.

Tumblr media
Seriously, if it had been his final scene, they would have shown us one last time moonslice...
Update 05 july : Does Garrett confirmed something ?
Tumblr media
No.
Why bring him back to life ?
Adam is THE faunus who stands out the most than the others, there isn’t two like him. In terms of discrimination, it’s the one who suffer the most. His hatred pushed him to ignore that humans had the same rights of him. He’s blind to the extent that he wants to submit them at his own race, the reverse the role of the one who is tyrannized. He has all the reasons of the world to hate this species, nobody could blame him (even if it doesn’t justify his actions of course). He maybe served his purpose with Blake and Yang, he can always serve others. I mean... He just serves to a plot device and that's it... and that's why I feel so frustrated, cuz there so many things to do with him...… First he could go to Mantle and settle squares up with his old executioners, facing directly the Schnee Dust Company (AND WEISS CAN SEE HIS MOTHER FUCKING BRAND). Secondly, we could send another message : « people can change ». The conclusion of Adam was sad because, finally, nobody really deter him to continue in his way, not directly at least. And when they tried to do it it was too late. Never they're told him « what you’re doing is bad, you should live for another thing than revenge ». Blake implied that she was against the murder, but it didn’t go further that. When he was scolded by Ghira, Sienna rather encouraged him after. As soon as we acclaim him, Adam had a click. Him who was treated like a property, an animal, a sub-category being, finally discovers the feeling to be « lionized ». For him, it was the climax of his existence. Also Goldi reminds me that “Adam hated huntsmen and was so set upon destroying their academies bc they're supposed to protect people but they didn't protect him from the scd and in the end he is killed by two (one human) huntresses”. And this end is so bad for his character... Logic would have wanted Blake and Yang to stop this cycle of violence. And there, the writers decided to repeat it by killing him. Bumbleby didn’t deserve to do that, as much as Adam didn’t deserve to die from their hands. This « death » can make him take a new start… Maybe that Blake and Yang didn’t kill him physically but they’ll kill him psychologically. At the moment when he was stabbed, we can see his face slowly decay. He realizes the fact that he just be stabbed and it hurts. He isn’t the one that he believed, this final point shows that he has nothing, and that the one who’s alone it’s him. And in my opinion, it's a trait that presents him as someone who can have a redemption, because he realizes how wrong he was. Yes he is redeemable and >THIS< show why, and why Adam wasn’t able to get one before. Returning after that, he’ll loose what made him a redoutable antagonist : his confidence. His power, he extracted it of control, but to have control being confident is necessary. Now that the one who he manipulated turned against him, and furthermore it’s one of his kind, he’ll gonna doubt of everything. Adam is weak, with this break, he risks to become a completely different character. The most important point is his similarities with Raven. Seriously I need to detail ? Imageries, fighting style and ideology, they share far too much in common. To the extent that it’s frustrating to see that Yang didn’t make a connection. If you want to spend time, I refer you to a thread which makes you a summary of all the parallels. With so much in common, it’s legitimate to ask if they’re not related. Not by blood because they don’t share any physical similarity, but to be honest, I can see Raven as a teacher.
> Parallels of Adam & Raven < + this one
Tumblr media
Grimms masks, Asian style, chokuto x nodachi, same color scheme. It's a bit big anyway lol. AND THEIR FUCKING DARWINIAN SYSTEM
And your theory you piece of shit ?
I’M SO SORRY. I needed to expose thoses points before to can begging it. First, I would like to recall why people thought that Adam Tarus had Silver Eyes. (For this part, I’ll take what said >here< because it’s really borring). This faunus isn’t only assimilate to Raven but with Ruby too, and it’s perfectly justify. The similarity of their symbols, imagery of the rose and the moon. It seems weird says like that but there is another person with Silver Eyes who’s assimilated to the same scheme : Summer Rose. It’s the principal element which supports this theory, since she’s directly inspired of a fairy tale « The Dead Moon ». If you want more informations on this subject, consult this post. Basically, it demonstrates the fact that the personified moon’s light repulses the monsters, like the Silver Eyes, and she was « killed », like the moon in RWBY. This ability is destined to protect the life, cherish people we love. But in the case of Adam, it’s all the opposite. He’s only destruction, hate and rancor ; it’s the opposite reflection of Ruby. But with what we saw in the series, the faunus doesn’t have Silver Eyes but blue eyes. With this, all of this wonderful theory falls in the water.
Tumblr media
in the opening 2 of RWBY, Ruby fall since the moon lol
However, with all that I resumed and what we learnt in the volume 6, I asked : is there something else ? We learnt that the eyes light came for the God of Light (GoL/Creation Dragon/…). In my opinion, Silver Eyes are a present of the God to defeat Salem, cause they affect the magic. A considerable help given to Ozma. But could it be possible that the younger siblings, the God of Darkness (GoD/Destruction Dragon/…), offered another thing to our professor, to help him in his quest ? It’s not impossible, since there must be a complementarity. If it’s the case, in what form doest it manifest and how ? I have my idea. First, you should know that RWBY never let something randomly, its foreshadowing is clearly what’s make the charm of the saga. The moon has been destroyed by GoD to restart a new era. Silver Eyes and faunus appeared after this period (HOW STRANGE), it’s a thing to know. Without transition, I’ll go to the point where I would like to reach. Actually i sought differents types of horns, just to try to identify those of Adam. Every faunus has animals characteristics. But in the heap, I didn’t see only one faunus have attribute which couldn’t be identify. Adam has the imagerie of a taurus, but at no fucking time his horns correspond to those of a taurus, not even to goat (even if I found this joke funny). And my issue, is that RWBY already shown a bull faunus.
Tumblr media
I mean. No. This isn’t a bull. And there’s no point for him to be a goat (besides jokes)
His horns start in forehead, point back to go inside. And I have only seen one person share those similarities for this characteritic, it’s the God of Darkness/Destruction.
Tumblr media
What I insinuate here ? That Adam has dragon’s horns. The theory is completely shitty lmao, I told you.
Tumblr media
:thonk:
Tumblr media
But It would explain this. Oppositions between Adam and Ruby.
If we assume that Adam is the nemesis of Yang Xiao Long, which means Little Dragon Sunshine, Adam will be related to the one of darkness. And I tell myself that AS BY CHANCE, the dragon of light is Chinese style, like the name of Yang. And seriously, I’ll give you pictures together, and keep in mind what was said on the faunus and Raven.
Tumblr media
Just find this here
The dragons are reflected in the world map of Remnant, as it happens at the top we have the God of Darkness and the one of Light on the right.
Tumblr media
And looking at the episode 7 of volume 3, I realized that Adam had the map of Remnant behind him. And strangely, the firts plan we have of him, is this one :
Tumblr media
Nothing is left to chance in RWBY. It surprises me that there is EXACTLY this continent behind him. The dragon is at the middle of the plan with Adam in font of it. The head and the wings are claerly apparent, the others pieces of lands don’t appear whole, I seriously doubt that this angle haven’t been chosen involuntary… Because when they had to built the scenery, decisions have been done, I tell myself that it’s not innocent. The guys could restricted to this, but no. They continue all along the scene, knowing that Adam walks when he listens the deal of Cinder…
Tumblr media
He could stop everywhere, but they chose to structure the scene like this.
Tumblr media
Adam only aspires to destroy, like the God of Darkness, counter to his brother, who him search to preserve the life. Amond their powers which have been exposed, we could see that silver light, and specific forms of thaumaturgy. But what will the power of Adam be, if he has dragon’s horns ? I think it will be a form of incomplete immortality, or which needs some conditions to be activate. It’s not impossible, like I said, the concept of life and death can be reverse with magic. Furthermore, if we associate Raven and Adam, it’s not improbable. You know why ? I tell you. In the episode 6 of Volume 5, something caught my attention. Amount of screenshots in coming :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Raven doesn’t believe in what is said to her, there is no reason for her to take literally what Oz told her. She needs to see to believe it. So she saw someone come back alive in front of her eyes, to come and declare the fact that she knows people who can come back from the dead. She can’t have seen Ozpin being killed, since he has not reincarnated in the meantime. Salem, I doubt that she could see her being hurt to return to life, because you have to beat her already. It’s very possible that it is Adam, since this whole scene, is to build in the same way as when the faunus was in full deal with Cinder. The guy stands right behind the fucking dragon of destruction. And what do you think Raven does?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She looks at the dragon of destruction on the fucking map. It’s more complicated to discern because she doesn't face to the protagonists because we do not see what she looks, but her eyes are focused on the continent. In addition, we have a sequence where the camera slides gently on the map, to finish on the continent in question, implying that we are through the eyes of Raven. And some plans show that it pays particular attention to the parcel of land.
Tumblr media
Beside, in the Black Trailer of RWBY, we see a crow... Someone told me it was Qrow who was looking for Amber, but I made some searchs on internet, I didn't find any confirmation of CRWBY. For me, the fact that it's could be Raven would make so much more sense. After all, she seems almost omniscient and she can be here, from the beginning. And that reminds me of what Barbara says about “some things could be planned from the beginning”. And I remembered something in Volume 3 DvD commentary : “The idea for the Maidens was thought up by Monty Oum in between Volume 2 and Volume 3 and worked into the story.” So... This isn't suppose to be Qrow looking for the Fall Maiden, right ? Cuz Monty hadn't this idea yet. When he puts this crow, he was thinking to something else, right ? The last option is Raven...
Tumblr media
Otherwise, remember well that the God of Darkness destroyed the moon. And what is the name of Adam’s semblance ? Moonslice.
Observation
Apart from these facts, there is something that who intrigued me. All the characters with a red aura, are more or less related to thaumaturgy... (As a reminder name ≠ aura color) Qrow : Crow transformation with magic Raven : Crow Transformation with Magic + Spring maiden Pyrrha : Was in contact with the aura of the Fall Maiden + was killed by the Fall Maiden Ruby : Silver eyes, which are connected to the God of light Adam : Could potentially have dragon horns (why would he escape the rule?)
Tumblr media
For those who will tell me that the color of Raven's aura is orange, it's wrong. Originally she is red. It is clear when flames glow from her eyes and she uses her semblance. It's because she received the power of the Spring Maiden that she is orange. When Pyrrha agreed to assimilate the power of the former host, the aura of the Fall Maiden that enveloped it and it was indeed orange, instead of turning red. If Pyrrha had become a maiden, his aura would have undergone the same transformations. The fact that Raven's aura is orange would be incoherent. Because in no case we see this amber in her design, or even in her name ... We would see this pre-configuration somewhere.
Tumblr media
Or it’s due to the dust after the fall... Cuz we can clearly that the power absorbed is red, and it belongs to Raven
Tumblr media
Some shitty arguments (don’t take it serioulsy lmao) : - Adam’s name means humanity. And that made me think about the new erea, and all this things about gods... - The precious stone associated with the name of Adam, is the ruby. It’s kinda funny when you know that the show is called RWBY, and the main character wears the name “Ruby”. I think it’s more a coincidence, but I have to put this somewere.
This was my shitty observation, bye.

RWBY Recaps: Vol. 5 "Unforeseen Complications"
This is a re-posting from Oct. 28th, 2017 in an effort to get all my recaps fully on tumblr. Thanks!
Tumblr media
This RWBY review had to be put on hold while I finished Stranger Things 2. In all honesty if you're reading this instead of watching the new season... please re-think your life choices.
For those of you who have binged properly you'll already know that though RWBY doesn't do holiday-themed episodes, they're still bringing in the Halloween spirit this week with the rather terrifying title "Unforeseen Complications." We open on Blake, Sun, Kali, and a pacing Ghira, wearing his tiny reading glasses that everyone was gushing over when the promo picture first dropped. Luckily we haven't lost the adorable cat Dad (yet), but things aren't looking good, especially when he's given this much screen time in a show that just loves breaking up happy families. Ghira is prepping a speech in regards to Adam's recent power-play and the only thing that eases the tension is a warm, family hug.
And Sun's awkward fourth-wheeling. Honestly, that was funny about ten episodes ago. For a side character that's been thrust into one of the main cast's storyline, Sun sure hasn't justified his place there yet. He's done little in the way of really assisting Blake in her work and the injury that worried everyone last Volume was explained away this very episode, amounting to nothing. The guy either needs something to do or finally needs to clear out--which, I should add, Blake wanted him to do weeks ago.
Tumblr media
Sun aside, Ghira remains a favorite among fans for his sweet nature, fair views, and unending support of his daughter. His speech here, laying out Adam's rogue faction in the White Fang and his involvement in the Fall of Beacon, isn't anything that the viewer didn't already know about. In fact, the scene is a little confusing if you don't catch that Blake's story is apparently taking place a month behind everyone else's. There's no overt indication of this using text on screen and given that we're following so many characters, there's no easy way to imply an ellipsis, let alone that we're jumping around a suddenly non-linear timeline. I had originally taken Ghira's warning that Adam intends to kill Sienna as an indicator that news of her death hadn't reached the island yet. However, it was pointed out to me later that Ghira mentions Haven opening in two months time whereas Ozpin, later in the episode, says that school starts up in a month. I'm not sure why RT has chosen this form--or why they've made it so convoluted--but I'm trusting that it will somehow benefit the overall structure of the Volume.
Ghira's call to assist the humans in Haven certainly doesn't get an outcry of support from the crowd, but he's entirely undermined when Ilia (dramatically) throws off her cloak and reveals herself, shouting that they should never help the humans when they've done nothing but harm the faunus in turn. Sun tries to grab her (he fails) but the damage is already done. As we see through the camera focusing on our two creepy fox brothers, Adam's splinter faction has wormed its way in deep. We know thanks to Ilia's scroll that Adam not only plans to attack Haven but take out their CTT tower as well. RWBY is chock-full of themes surrounding communication (or the lack thereof) and literally taking out the kingdoms' one way of contacting one another is highly reflective of that. Combine that with Ilia’s few words sowing so much discord. Divide them and they’ll fall, and all that.
The real action of the episode though is with Team RNJR. After a full two weeks we finally get to see the gang's reaction to Professor Ozpin's return and oh boy, it did not disappoint.
Tumblr media
Ruby: "Isn't it weird?"
She's so excited about this! Qrow reminds the kids that this is strange for everyone involved, including the boy you're hounding, so they sheepishly give Oscar some space. He admits that he's a little nervous because he's never met real huntsmen and huntresses before, which is a wonderful callback to Ruby's excited, "Can I have your autograph?" to Glynda in Episode One. She's come far enough now that she's the one people look up to with awe. There's also perhaps a bit of rosegarden here, but that's obviously a ship that can only happen if Ozpin gets a body of his own.
We then (bless) finally get some actual information regarding this Oscar-Ozpin situation. Oscar shows everyone his "parlor trick" where, with a flash of green aura, gold eyes, and white hair, Ozpin takes control of his body, making everyone emotional with a sincere, "It is so very good to see you again, students."
Tumblr media
It's a remarkably light scene for all the revelations. Like I've been noting in all these recaps, Ozpin admits how pleased he is that Ruby and the others can retain their sense of humor in the face of confusing and traumatizing circumstances. We get another callback as Ozpin apologizes, saying that he wasn't exaggerating when he once told Ruby he'd made more mistakes than any man, woman, or child. We learn that he has been “cursed” by the gods for failing to stop Salem centuries ago. For thousands of years Ozpin has lived, died, and reincarnated in the body of a "like-minded soul," though there's still no explanation of what exactly constitutes "like-minded” in this scenario.
Jaune: "So who... what are you?"
Ouch. Though not an entirely unwarranted question when you’re suddenly dealing with the impossible. Ozpin says that he is the "combination of countless men" who have spent their lives trying to protect Remnant. The implication that he only reincarnates as a man aside (seems like a missed opportunity there), this seems like a pretty firm confirmation of the merging theory. The person we know as Ozpin might not entirely erase Oscar, but it certainly sounds like they won't remain completely separate people for forever. Indeed, Ozpin says straight out that at some point, "eventually," they'll “merge” and become the new Ozpin, a man who retains the memories of all his past lives. It’s all still horrendously murky, but honestly, if Oscar doesn't have at least a little bit of a freak out over this I'll be sorely disappointed.
Tumblr media
We still don't know who or what Ozpin was originally. Was he just a man who took on too much, cursed by the gods for his failure or arrogance? Was he the wizard, one of the few capable of wielding magic in Remnant, thus making his survival (and the curse to ensure as much) a necessity? Ozpin isn't saying just yet. After assigning Qrow to find them more huntsmen he turns his sights on Team RNJR, telling them that they'll need to get into "fighting shape" before they can face Salem.
There is nothing that I don't love about this scene. Bringing back Ruby's lack of skill in hand-to-hand after Yang's character short spent so much time emphasizing it? Check. Implying that we'll finally unlock Jaune's semblance this Volume? Check. Ozpin confirming that outside the confines of his headmaster persona he's a happy, dramatic showoff?
Triple check.
Tumblr media
All poor Oscar asked is that Ozpin not do anything embarrassing while he has control of their body and what does this man do? Act extra as fuck of course, performing a backflip onto the chair and spinning his cane far, far longer than he needs to. Nora is the only one unimpressed by this display, but I personally can't wait to see Ozpin training the kids. It should be especially interesting given his sudden loss of control--Oscar coming back unexpectedly and losing his balance, toppling them off the chair. Training is hard enough. Training while you're stuck in the body of a weak, undisciplined child... that's something else entirely.
The end of our episode takes us back to Weiss, still guarded by Raven's bandits. It's a moment of psychological torture, with her captor taunting Weiss with her own weapon and demonstrating that the one tool she has, information, is severely outdated. Ironwood has recalled all his troops from Mistral, including Winter. She's not around now to save her little sis’ like Weiss had hoped.
Which is hilarious, because in no world does Weiss Schnee need saving. Our last shot is of the miniature knight she's made out of a tiny glyph and her confident smile. Can't wait to see what she's planning to do with that.
Tumblr media
Other Details of Note
I was incredibly nervous during the later half of Ghira's speech where he's just going, "We have ALL this INCRIMINATING evidence on this ONE SCROLL that I'm going to WAVE AROUND out here in the OPEN where anyone could EASILY STEAL or DESTROY IT..."
The faunus press all using their scrolls instead of cameras or old-fashioned pen and paper. It's a small but enjoyable bit of world-building.
The voice acting for Ozpin as Oscar was incredibly well done. Jury's still out on whether the echo is just a byproduct of his control or is somehow more meaningful. One theory currently says it's used whenever Ozpin says something that references all of his past lives, not just his last two.
Qrow immediately gets Ozpin coffee. Or hot chocolate. Whatever it is. He might be in the body of a 14yo, but you know as soon as he has control he needs a mug in his hands.
... Qrow then breaks the table and the mug. Hello, semblance. I'm looking forward to seeing more of that as the Volume goes on. Does the bad luck get worse the longer Qrow stays in one place? Is that why he's so eager to leave and recruit more huntsmen? What exactly are the rules here? No one has laid them out and (like silver eyes...) no one seems very interested.
Oscar upon learning that he'll be training too: "Wait, what?"
And you've gotta love Nora. She went from thinking over how she could bribe her powerful, dignified headmaster ("No wait, he has a school") to flouncing about and calling him their "little cute boy Ozpin." I really hope she ignores his request and keeps calling him that indefinitely. It's very amusing.

Time for a friendship PSA
I want to take a minute and talk about this scene:
Tumblr media
Because I see that a lot of people use this moment as evidence to make claims that Tai and Qrow aren’t really good friends or even that they hate each other. And while canon hasn’t exactly disproven this possibility, I do feel there’s WAY more evidence to support the opposite is true. So, let me take a few minutes of y’all’s time to show why.
So, since this is the crutch of the issue, let’s start with the scene in question, analyze some of the language used and break it down through the context given to us as well.
We’ll begin with the dialogue:
Tai: Things are just kind of a mess right now.
Qrow: It’s always a mess. Mind if we have a minute?
Tai: What, I can’t stay here?
Qrow: Tai, please.
So, Qrow especially is interesting here – his wording and his demeanor, asking for permission and even saying ‘please’, it’s all very respectful. But, this is also the same guy who started a fight in the courtyard with an Atlasian specialist and outright verbally put down a military general because he didn’t agree with their methods. Not to mention outright arguing with the headmaster of Haven Academy and antagonizing his own sister. He’s a sassy little shit with pretty much everyone no matter who they are or what their level of authority is. He’s the kind of guy who would talk down the Gods themselves if given half a chance. In fact, as far as peers go (not kids, that’s a whole other ballgame), the only other person we’ve seen Qrow really dial down his attitude for and give his respect to is Ozpin, who he trusts completely and is absolutely loyal to.
Tumblr media
So for him to be just as humble with Tai, to me, speaks volumes on how he feels about him as both a teammate and friend.
Now, about Tai…
Let’s get a feel for his personality first: With his children, he’s warm and caring, trying to encourage them to better themselves whether it be with their own shortcomings (Ruby’s lack of sociability) or their mental obstacles (Yang’s discouragement after losing her arm). With Bart and Pete, he’s friendly and, we find out, a bit of a jokester. And, as for Raven, though he has obvious misgivings when he talks about her – of which I’ll go more in depth about in a bit – he still has some level of care of her while still being able to reasonably point out her severe flaws.
But with Qrow? In the scene above, he’s angry at him. Yet, this wasn’t the case in the conversation they had while Ruby was sleeping. They were stressed out about ‘something’ not working and how bad the situation was, but not angry at each other.
So, the question is: What changed and why?
It would be easy to assume it’s because Qrow is shoving him out of his own daughter’s room to tell her about her mystical heritage – but what Tai says isn’t correct for that implication. He asks “I can’t stay here?” implying he knows exactly what Qrow is going to be telling Ruby and furthermore, that they had agreed upon it (interestingly, note also that Qrow was chosen to lead this conversation over Tai). So why is he angry about something he agreed to?
Well, I don’t think it has anything to do with Ruby and has everything to do with Yang. And what makes me think that?
Well, for as much as I made a joke about it in this post, I absolutely believe this is why.
First let’s start with this - look at what happens when Qrow shows the picture to his nieces:
Tumblr media
When he notices Yang staring at her, Qrow tries to block out Raven and pulls the picture away. He’s actively trying to dissuade her. And yet, four episodes later, when Yang mentions she saw her mom, he decides ‘Ah fuck it’ and tells her about Raven while verbally acknowledging in that same sequence his sister is a big ball of crazy death feathers? Let’s not even get into the fact he’s probably telling Yang this at the worst possible time when she’s already feeling vulnerable and upset over what happened with Mercury.
And we know Taiyang finds out about this. Remember when Yang is about to leave to go after her sister in Mistral? Taiyang says this to her: “Despite telling him numerous times not to, I know Qrow told you about where your mother’s been these days”.
So knowing that Qrow is not the most… tactful of sorts, what do you want to bet he told Tai at the worst possible time – with Yang dismembered, Ruby comatose, Ozpin and a few kids dead, Beacon Academy a wreck – that, ‘oh yeah so I told Yang where to find Raven’. I can just imagine the fight that would break out. Not just because it went against Tai’s wishes but because, unless it’s a hell of a writing inconsistency, for Qrow to go from trying to hide Raven from Yang to instead outright telling her, it seems Qrow broke a promise doing so.
And if he did, I’m sorry but Tai has every right to be pissed off about it. And anger, especially fresh anger, is an emotion that bleeds into everything, which would explain the immediate tension between them.
And for those of you thinking that it’s wrong for Taiyang to keep Yang from her mom and Qrow is more in the right by breaking his word, let me ask you…
Tumblr media
Is he?
I’m just going to take one line of dialogue of Raven’s from each of the three conversations she has with Yang:
Episode 4, Raven’s first spoken words to her daughter: So, after all this time, you finally decided to visit me.
Episode 14, Raven verbally putting her daughter down: Who do you think you are lecturing me? Standing there, shaking like a scared little girl?
Episode 6, Raven threatening her daughter: If you side with your uncle, I may not be as kind next time we meet.
So let me ask you again, IS HE?!
While I honestly love her to bits and wish for a lot more with her character, for what we have in canon, Raven is a manipulative, cruel, coldhearted and borderline sociopathic individual who is NOT above abusing or using people to get her way. And we see sides of that not just with Yang but with Qrow too. Obvious murder plots aside, her consistent use of the term ‘little brother’ rather than his name comes off very condescending especially when they’re twins and her grabbing his wrist during their conversation in the bar was a sign of force.
Would it really be so much of a stretch to guess that this behavior was used against someone else? Maybe someone like a former lover?
If there was any sight or sign that Tai was keeping his daughter away from a loving mom who, upon seeing her, just came running over to embrace her and tell her how much she missed her (IE. Kali with Blake), yeah maybe I’d have a problem with his decision. But that was not Raven. Raven was a standoffish egomaniac who went on and on like Yang did a really good job to find her, like getting her respect and love needs to be earned not given.
Tumblr media
And imagine how devastating this is for Yang too. One of the biggest character goals we learn about her is how much she wants to find her mom; and to be given this as a result of that journey? No matter what age Yang is, that’s absolutely soul-crushing. And we see that full effect towards the end of episode 14, when she breaks down and cries.
And Tai trying to protect Yang from that? From something he probably experienced and was hurt by first hand? That’s called being a parent. It doesn’t matter that Raven is her mom, Raven is also an active force that can, will and DOES hurt Yang. And being mad at Qrow because he feels that he’s helping put her in the pathway of that hurt, especially if they had an agreement not to? Yeah that’s fair.
So going back to Qrow and Tai: Do I think they hate each other?
No, not at all.
Do I think Taiyang is pissed off at Qrow for very legitimate and fair reasons?
Yes. Yes I do.
Do I think this is an overview of their entire relationship as a whole?
Hell fucking no.
Even the best of friends don’t agree with each other on everything. Sometimes friends fight, or disappoint each other, or hurt each other. Being human and making mistakes is part of living and sometimes those mistakes happen with people you care about. But just because you’re angry or don’t agree with their actions doesn’t necessarily mean you stopped loving them.
There’s also several other things we can pull from canon that are true or even is implied to be true:
A.      Despite rocky beginnings (I’m looking at you skirt incident), Team STRQ became an extraordinary team, which could only be the case if they learned to work together as one, and it was torn apart solely because of Raven’s actions. Neither Qrow nor Tai have ever said or implied any blame on anyone else but her for that.
B.      Qrow and Taiyang both were teachers at Signal – a job that Qrow himself says wasn’t a good fit for him. So why choose something like it to stay nearby unless…
C.      Qrow was likely around a lot after Summer’s death to the point of having a hand in raising the girls. Both his nieces exhibit how close they are to Qrow during the show’s duration and, from these two conversation sequences, it’s obvious the girls look at Qrow as a second father figure
-Season 3: Qrow tells them “Just remember you still have a long way to go. Don’t think graduating means you’re done.”
-Season 4: Tai parallels this by saying “Adult or not, you’ve still got a long way to go before you’re ready for the real world.” Of which Yang’s response is “Oh my gosh does every father figure just have the same three condescending phrases?”
D.      Also, while it’s unclear, the “she” Qrow is talking to ‘Tai’ about that “isn’t coming back” during his poisoned hallucinations was likely Summer. But…
E.       Even if it’s not, even if it were Raven, this still shows that Qrow was there to try and talk to and support Tai through a moment of loss. But if he was around enough to have the girls look up to him like a second dad, then that also means Qrow was there a lot for Tai too.
F.       Tai gave Qrow his trust in both showing Ruby how to wield a scythe, which is what Ozpin claims as ‘one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed’ and no doubt can only be perfected with years and years of hard work, as well as – again I reiterate – telling her about her heritage.
G.      Equally, Tai also allowed Qrow to train her despite knowing his semblance of bad luck is uncontrollable and unpredictable and would be more active when he is using aura, simply because he believed in him enough to protect her if something went wrong.
H.      The lucky convenience of Qrow showing up to save Yang and Ruby when they were toddlers was likely not one at all. Either 1. Tai returned home and called Qrow immediately upon realizing the girls were missing or 2. Qrow came by the house himself, possibly to watch the kids or because he was living there, and found them missing.
In short:
Tumblr media
These two are actually married.
I mean, best friends.
This has been a PSA.

You Failed
http://dudeblade.tumblr.com/post/163494770805/how-i-would-try-to-make-jaune-less-divisive
Like, epicly
Have. Someone. Call. Him. Out. On. His. Bullshit.
What? N-no! Jaune isn’t even that divisive anymore! he stopped being that way after Volume 3. The only people still attacking him are RWDE posters and spoiler: You guys don’t count due to the absolutely asinine reasons you come up with to attack people with. And, what bullshit? He hasn’t even done anything like that!
Like seriously, there are characters who have had it WAY WORSE THAN JAUNE but we’re supposed to sympathize with the scrawny blond kid?
Shake him up a bit.
Didn’t the white trailer begin with: "everyone is entitled to their own sorrow, for the heart has no metric or form of measure. And all of it... irreplaceable"
Look, by the looks of it, the writers are trying to make Jaune the sympathetic one here, but that falls apart when he says that he’s “Tired of losing people.” in front of a person who has seen three people die right in front of her, has lost her mother, has had her team forcibly torn apart, had to leave her crippled and emotionally damaged sister behind, and has been given this weird destiny/power thing that basically means that she has the burden of trying to save the world. He’s also saying it in front of two ORPHANS.
Jauane also watched Penny die, Jaune watched Amber die, Jaune lost Pyrrha, the one person who ever believed in him, and at that time, saw a childhood memory of his being burned to the ground and their one chance of making it to Mistral fast destroyed. Yeah, I think he’s allowed some time to complain, especially since that’s the only time he does it.
Yeah, and Ruby has her family whereas Jaune’s never believed in him which incredibly crushing. Her sister is in the care of her father and she CHOOSE to leave, Ruby barely knew her mother, Jaune lost an important part of his team and unlike Weiss Blake and Yang, Pyrrha’s never coming back and Jaune is following her son he falls under that category as well.
And Ren and Nora have each other: Jaune has no one to lean on but himself. In these circumstances: Jaune has no one.
And you do realize you can be sympathetic towards more than one person in a show right? I-it’s just common sense here: they're ALL suppose to be sympathetic.
Jaune. The guy who still has both parents, seven sisters, and still has had enough money to be able to buy an unhealthy cereal, is tired of losing people.
You know Dudeblade, by that logic, Yang, Weiss and Blake cant be sympathetic as none of them have really lost anything by YOUR standards either. Might want to watch you say: Your words have a habit of biting you in the ass.
Now, if someone were to call him out on his attitude, that could shake him up. It could lead to better character development that would make Jaune MORE of an audience surrogate. Because I don’t want the guy representing ME to be bemoaning the senseless loss of life in front of people who each have a dead mom.
Dudeblade, you AREN’T the audience: You do not represent the audience as a whole. You do not even share this type of opinion with 1% of the audience: you just want everything to go your way: Evident by the fact that you think RT should Pander to you. News flash: they never will.
This is also why I want Pyrrha’s mom to NOT be okay with Jaune’s upgrade. Let me give an example that I read somewhere as to why this is actually insensitive.
No, dudeblade. the reason why you want Pyrrha’s mom to call him out is because you have a self admitted bias against male characters and within that, you have a bias against Jaune. You want him called out to feel validated by your feelings s you can keep going.
Action 1. Let/s say that your Significant Other died, so you wear her ring around your neck ala Nathan Drake to honor their memory. That/s one thing. That is actually respectful.
Action 2. But now let’s say that you melt it to be part of a pin or something. That ISN’T respectful. It just means that your other’s ring (and by extension, your Significant Other), were nothing more than an accessory to you.
Since what Jaune did was more akin to Action 2, I doubt that Pyrrha’s mother would be in ANY way okay with what he did.
Action 3: you melt the pin down and intergrate it into your family heirloom so that your Significant Other will always be a part of your family and will always be protecting them, just as they protected you.
That is a great form of respect: Showing that jaune considered Pyrrha like family to him and wanted her to be a part of his family so he integrated her armor into his family heirlooms, which are inherited by a Great War Survivior meaning she is now also considered equal to Jaune’s inspiration to become a Huntsman.
But of course, you have to take the one that makes Jaune look bad.
Look, I’m not going to deny that Jaune has his moments, and that he’s not supposed to be a bad person, but the way he’s being written is pretty disgraceful. If the writers want people to stop bashing on Jaune, then they should stop making him the one in the right when he really isn’t. Jaune’s line of being tired of losing people would have carried more weight to it if he had personally lost more than just Pyrrha.
Jaune has been in the wrong before: Like with Qrow, were they are both in the wrong. Or in Kuroyuri where he was in the wrong for ignoring Ruby. Or in jaundice where he was in the wrong for not taking Pyrrha’s advice. Or in the Dance Arc where he is treated as immature and had to let go. In fact...I think jaune has been in the wrongt more times than any of the main girls.
You don’t want Jaune to be written in the wrong more; you JUST want Jaune written in the wrong. Dudeblade, you have literally said that you wanted Jaune to die a horrible death and never be mentioned again: No one should listen what you have to say about Jaune. Or any male characters. Or female characters. Hell, about RWBY at all.
But he didn’t. He hasn’t.
Meaning that line comes off as more insensitive than depressing.
You’d be the type of person to tell Shinji to shut up and get in the robot because Guts has suffered more: You are almost completely lacking in empathy.
The only one being insensitive here is you for saying that someone isn’t allowed to mourn or be frustrated at life for kicking them down because other people have had it worse, while ignoring all but the basic factors in their complaining to make them look more pathetic.
Now, if any of the OTHERS had said it, it would have carried more weight to it, but none of them DID say it.
No it wouldn’t. They were all being sad, jaune was just the only one vocalizing it. You just say that because Jaune said it. for no other reason than “it’s Jaune.”
It was Jaune.
The guy who doesn’t feel at all obligated to send what remains of Pyrrha to her mother, who is likely distraught over what happened.
And who has literally every other possession of Pyrrha’s, ranging from other pieces of her armor to her trophies to her pictures to her baby clothes and shoes and so on. You act like Jaune has everything of Pyrrha’s when that is literally the opposite of the situation: That is the only thing of Pyrrha’s that he has and making her mom demand it back just makes her mom look like a narcissist for demanding two things from a guy that is also mourning Pyrrha because he isn’t her.
So have Jaune realize what a good life he’s had compared to the others. Have him realize that his life was easy compared to the likes of Ren, Nora, Weiss, or even Emerald.
Have someone call him out on his attitude, because Yang and Tai have had it worse than Jaune. Ruby has had it worse than Jaune. And even though she was revealed to basically be the princess of Furry Australia, even BLAKE has had it worse than Jaune. Shake him up a bit (or a lot), and get him to change his attitude. Because at the rate he’s going, he’d probably throw a pity party for himself if he were to stub his toe, and claim that it was worse than when Yang lost her freaking arm!
Ren and Nora have always had each other and always have each other to rely upon and know that someone will believe in them and someone will love them.
Weiss has never had the illusion of her family believing in her and still has her team.
Emerald...is a god damn mass murderer, stop defending these people!
Yang can replace her arm, already has a mother, can punch Raven in the face and move on.
Blake can take back the White Fang.
The only two people in that sentence who are even comparable to Jaune in this situation is Ruby and Taiyang because Ruby was there when Pyrrha died and Taiyang has lost a team mate/emotional support. But both of them take into practice the words from the White Trailer and don’t try belittling someone else’s pain and sorrow.
At this rate: jaune could lose all but one arm, watch his teammates die in an extremely brutal fashion, be tortured, blinded by his eyes being gouged and his tounge removed and be the last surviving human on the planet and you’d tell him to shut up. Because in your eyes, jaune is always in the wrong.
Well guess what? Hes not, what you said is not gonna happen and you’ll be stuck in your hate forever. Have fun.

Volume 4 Summary
Alright, so now that I'm home from work, I'll elaborate a bit on some of the points I made about the finale and the season as a whole. (Light Spoiler warning)
-Id give the season 6/10 in comparison to last season’s 8/10. All in all, I thought the season was alright. Nothing game-changing like season 3, but also nothing particularly offensive or anything.
+The art style by the end of the season looked really nice At the beginning of the season I did have some gripes with the art style. There were some issues with the shadows on the characters, and some other minor issues. However, the RWBY team is nothing if not adaptable. Through the season, there were constant improvements as they got more used to the new shaders and a software they hadn't used for RWBY before. The finale was definitely visually impressive. It looked great (save for maybe some animation gripes, but they will, again, get ironed out over time as the team continues to improve).
Tumblr media
+Yang had some great character moments I think that of the story/character moments this season, Yang was handled the best. The scenes with her had some of the best character moments (like the bit where Taiyang playfully insults her, leaving Port and Oobleck shocked, but has her break out in laughter). If I had any complaint, it would be that she kinda got better a bit quicker than someone in that situation probably would (however, there comes a point where realism needs to take a back seat to the story's pacing and tone. She needed to be going after Ruby at the end of the season so that all pieces would be moving at the same time, and so she was).
Tumblr media
-It felt like nothing really happened In terms of the plot and story, there were really no developments. Sure there was a lot of character development and world building, but it was all pretty heavy-handed. Rather than being integrated into the plot naturally, it needed to be handed to us using exposition (an entire episode was dedicated to basically a WOR style world-building story that had no bearing at all on the season as a whole). On top of that, there wasn't really any structure to the season. RWBY's strength so far has proven to be its long-term story. Its major arcs do the whole 3-act structure well, building up its story to a climactic encounter at the third act. HOWEVER, what it lacks is the same structure WITHIN the season itself. Even season 3, which was, in my opinion, the best one so far, didn't follow this structure too well. There was a pretty massive spike in tension around the 50-60% mark, which, while it worked well in the long-term context, leaves the story within the season to be weak on its own. It could also be that there was no clear focus of the volume. Having 4 distinct, separate protagonists in completely different places to focus on at the same time dilutes the story down a bit, and moves our focus too quickly. Rather, focusing on RNJR and giving them a clear antagonistic force to face against during the course of the season, then moving to the others every now and then would have focused it down, and given us a core as a foothold to judge the timing/pacing of the season's arc.
Tumblr media
Now, they might have taken a look at things and realized that they needed to establish a lot more things for the next 2 acts/seasons/whatever to work, and so just decided to bite the bullet and scale back on plot development to make room. While I have issue with the volume that they did it, if that is the case, then the season did its job, only time will tell if this is the case. However, this does not change the fact that the overall story this season was weak. There was only one real encounter between the good guys and the bad guys, and even if I were to excuse that, the bad guys seemed like they were just sitting around with their thumbs up their asses the entire season. They talked big, but there was no evidence that they were actually DOING stuff until the very VERY last moment of the final episode. Combine that with what I think has been the weakest final confrontation of the series, and the season has just disappointed me story-wise.
-Too many mcguffins The maidens, the artifacts, silver-eyed warriors, the schools (depending on your interpretation), Ozpin, and given how Qrow was talking about it, the two gods. Now, to be fair, there are shows/movies/games/etc. with MANY more Mcguffins than this, but seeing that several of these were dished out to us this season alone, I'm beginning to worry just a bit. I don't think it's to the point where it's going to start bogging down the show yet, but they're on the edge of that. Any more and I think they're going to go overboard and the show will stop being a story about Ruby Rose and her friends, and more about the great Remnant scavenger hunt. Too many times have I seen a story slowly lose focus from its characters in favor of "THE ALMIGHTY COLLECTION OF POWERFUL ARTIFACTS THAT CAN DEFEAT EVIL©". It would have helped to dish them out a bit slower, rather than all at once.
Tumblr media
-Lots of stuff that didn’t need to be said/done There was a lot of rehashing of old information and poor use of screentime. For example, Blake's entire arc this season revealed the incredible new piece of information that is... wait for it... THE WHITE FANG WAS ACTUALLY EVIL THE WHOLE TIME AND IS UP TO NO GOOD!
Tumblr media
If more of her arc was her either trying to convince her parents, or the other people of Menagerie that this was the case, then that would be fine. But having the big reveal be information we already knew was kind of a waste of time. It was also pretty much implied that the WF that we saw was NOT just a fringe group, so knowing that it was corrupt to the core was, again, a bit of a waste of time. Weiss' arc could have also been condensed down quite a bit. I don't really think she needed more than even just a single episode to get home, say "fuck this" and turn around and leave. Hell, given the characterization we've gotten from her this point, I think a much more punctual "nah I'm getting the fuck out of here" would have fit her much better.
-Ren and Nora’s stuff was handled so terribly, I’m wondering if Miles and Kerry don’t just hate the two of them, and just want to write them out of the story altogether. Maybe I was a bit harsh with the whole Miles and Kerry hating R+N, but my point stands that they handled their entire story horridly. They spent the last 3 seasons dropping breadcrumbs and hanging lanterns, giving us pieces to put together their story, motivations, and what drove them as characters. In season 3, they even established that they had no family or home to return to, implying that their family had indeed been killed. The next step after establishing this would be to explain it. Which they did. The flashback sequence was absolutely fine, and did a pretty good job of explaining their backstory and giving us a better look into their heads. However, they then proceeded to payoff that establishment almost a SINGLE EPISODE AFTER. After 3 seasons of breadcrumb-laying, they elaborated on their backstories, and then paid off their goals almost immediately. Rather than having that grimm annihilate the group and leave them running with their tails between their legs, giving them another long-term enemy, re-sparking R+N's motivation, and maybe even create potential conflict down the road as we come to fear and despise this terrifying new foe, the grimm put up a kind of lackluster fight that ended pretty anticlimactically.
For a grimm that was established to be a sort of harbinger of doom and destruction, it seems it couldn't actually handle fighting more complex than standing in place and being a wacky wavy inflatable arm flailing tube man. We're in the big games now. The grimm should not be the same ones that we saw at Beacon. The kiddie gloves should come off now that the gang is outside the safety of the city. A literal horseman of the apocalypse should have given them a curb-stomping, and caused them to reevaluate their strategies and abilities. It should have been the wake-up call for the group where they realized that maybe they made a bad choice leaving home for a goal that isn't particularly solid or well-thought-out, but they decide that they need continue to push on anyway. Instead it just ended up being a flashy set-piece with just enough emotion driving the fight to justify it not being a grunt enemy. Again, MORE TIME given to these enemies and plot points would let them fester and have the payoff be MUCH more satisfying.
Tumblr media
For me, the whole thing just kinda reeks of them realizing “Oh yeah, we’ve got THOSE characters we gotta work with. Let’s just get that out of the way as quickly as possible so we can get back to the good stuff”
In the end, I enjoyed the season, but I wasn't crazy for it. It ended up being just weak enough in certain areas that I wasn't scrambling towards my computer each Sunday and waiting eagerly until the clock struck 11:00 like was last year. I enjoyed it, but there is certainly room to improve. I'm still looking forward to V5 and what is in store next.

https://sokumotanaka.tumblr.com/post/158693391644/its-weird-to-me-that-the-humans-in-remnant-are-so
“It’s weird to me that the humans in remnant are so shitty as people, If you remember the faunus WOR it does state humans used to attack and kill faunus for just being different, an act that wasn’t met by retaliation from the faunus at the time or by any humans who thought it was wrong.“
... So just people then? Because we’ve been doing this as a race of thousands of years: Killing anything that is different. I fail to see why they are held to sucha higher degree than you or I. Pretty sure 90% of the cast of RWBY are better people than the both of us.
“And it continues to get weird because humans lived alongside faunus yet I find it strange no one calls out cardin, our naive optimist protagonist doesn’t tell weiss it’s not fair to judge faunus as one unit because their people, not objects, yell yang the most outspoken member literally just sits there, yang a roamer looking for her mom at some point and doesn’t have anything to say? I’m not saying the injustices need to escalate to make the problem seem “real” but there needs to be some damn consequences to human behavior; ruby wanted to be a hunter to help people yet when velvet is getting bullied literally just watches!“
Because they can’t do anything? Listen, I have been arguing with you for months about your toxic behavior, much in the same way with Cardin, and you haven’t changed. You can call out a racist all you want, you shouldn’t expect them to change. Plus, people tend to not get involved with big affairs. America didn’t get involved with the World Wars until it started affecting us directly. Once again: Why are they held to a higher regard than the rest of humanity?
I seem not to be the only one who feels this either, many people bring these issues up when talking about the faunus.
Your first link is dead and the second comes from a guy tried to argue Jaune got too much screentime to himself this Volume despite the fact that “too much” was 5:42 minutes. Not great sources.
We’re in a world (eerily similar to our own.) Where people will say “Wow that’s fucked up.” yet don’t really seem to care the difference here, these characters became hunters to help, to act where certain people couldn’t/wouldn’t.  And for a young faunus who probably gets attacked (There are probably people out there who are worst than cardin) when you’re treated like shit, attacked for being different and pushed into a corner…consider, your young, vulnerable and now feel unwanted, this is a real feeling, and very relatable.
Yeah and how much stupid shit do people in our world do all the god damn time? A lot going just by the rwde tag alone.
Again, this seems like you make our world out to be better when it’s not. We do this shit all the time and considering that it’s one form of racism against the tens of types of racism we have today, it’s so unrealistic to expect them to be better.
Now consider the faunus who only feels safe among their own, who wants humans to stop attacking and hurting their kind, so joing the white fang seems pretty enticing, remember before the series began the white fang didn’t preform anything too rash. We didn’t start hearing about hostile takeovers ans such until cinder took over which was directly after blake left. I understand there are people who hear the phrase white fang and have a few things to say.  I want you to take the time to read this. I don’t support the murder of people in remnant, but I do support the white fang’s existance, now hear me out! Remember the white fang started out with peacful protest and as I watched the series could not wait to see the peacful side of the white fang; (That’s an issue for another post) To them attacking SDC cargo and taking away potential ammo from their oppressors/screwing the people using their race as labor slaves seem ideal to a young mind despite how detrimental it might be. (It’s two choices for these people either force a difference or wait for people to change after eons, remember blake states that the peaceful side of the white fang has been going on for centuries.)
Uh...it began five years before the series so yeah, I have no doubt that the White Fang has been doing shit like that before. Especially considering our own history in which even outside of the black panthers the CRM had people doing violent shit in it’s name.
Then how about the killing of innocents? Because Adam tried that bullshit in the Black Trailer which was before Cinder’s takeover, evident by the implications of Blake being in the White Fang on Cinder’s first attempt but not the second. Because that’s the real issue here. The instant you take an innocent life, you lose the right to ask for equality because you ARE equal now: you’re the same as the shit you fought. And no, you don’t get to kill innocent humans because their ancestors did horrible shit. Those humans are not their ancestors and had no control over them and shouldn't bear any guilt. Just as well, judging by SUn the only Fanaus we’ve focused on outside the WHite Fang considers them a cult, Fanaus themselves hate the White Fang so that argument doesn’t work.
But fine let’s say they are allowed. That also means you can’t complain when one black guy shoots another black guy because tribes in Africa enslaved their kinsmen and you can’t speak up about ISIS because Muslism were killed off by Christians in the Crusades. See how dangerous and stupid that mindset is?
In a world where the white fang of the new age are now extremist and humans are innocent, there seems to be a lack of effort that makes me not care for the cast.  Humans innocence is shown to us by being indifferent but that plays against them because these characters who have a strong sense of justice like Ruby, Pyhrra and Jaune see this act infront of them and don’t react at all.  We’re given lines that sound phoned in and tired, These people who want to help the world don’t do anything!
They all glare at the fucker. What more can they do against an asshole, call him out? He ain’t gonna care, evidence being when I call you out you shrug it off. Punch him? Newsflash, they'd bet in trouble. Been there, doen that. Prank him? Then he automatically assumes Velvet did it.
But back tracking a bit: That’s because the conflict isn’t theres. They have no stake in it and there is a lot more serious shit going on like a humanoid Grimm trying to kill everyone and an infinite amount of Grimm to kill.
Okay then: Fanaus innoncence is shown by them not saying a word about the White Fang kill regular, normal humans and aiding Cinder. Ergo, by your own logic, we shouldn’t care about the White Fang. Whereas The main group is facing  much bigger threat, ergo we should care about them.
Weiss is calling a race, trash and flithy and no one reacts, at all. Again they stand there blinking and their lack of reaction make them seem stiff and inhuman, if you want to prove humans are a complete innocent part, then show some effort RT! You could put some flavor text in a line, on a newspaper a character picks up, a sign etc that says “Hey there are humans who fight these prejudice.” -I want fox anf yatsuhashi to loom over cardins team-  And I’d be satisfied, I’ll expect to see a glimpse of them at some point, but I think a small effort is better than zero. Especially with this writing crew.
In Volume 1...afterward she was better around Blake, started liking Sun and risked her life trying to save Velvet. That argument is invalid.
... What gave you THAT idea? The SDC is obviously treated as malevolent and evil and Cardin is treated as a giant jackass, humans are constantly killing each other-This makes no sense! Especially considering a certain writer’s involvement in RvB’s Chorus Trilogy which made a big point in showing that war often times just has two sides with differing opinions! Don’t go blaming the show when you’re the one reading it wrong.
Oh look, potshot against the writing staff. Guess that means I can amek potshots too. But unlike rwde’s, mine will be funny.
Being indifferent is not the same as being innocent, if you watch people beat, tease or harass a person for them races, sexual orientation etc,  rather than say something, do something or call anyone who can do stop it, you don’t actually care.
Glass houses motherfucker, I was suicide baoted by a regular in your tag, pointed it out and no one ever said a word, especially you. By your own logic, you don’t care and are not innocent!
