I love that the implied Warrior of Light incarnation on the Thirteenth (Original Golbez) is implied to be just as much as optimist as the Warrior of Light we play and Ardbert was. Something about that soul just can't help but seek the Light in Darkness, even when they are consumed by it.

Mikoto Second Trial: Mannequin Dolls Meaning
Something interesting about his second trial is that Mikoto has multiple mannequin dolls throughout the video showing his murder.
He hits through the middle on one of them
Then he beats up the side of a head of a doll that wasn’t before.
Then here he swings up and doll parts fly
This might mean he had multiple victims because the mannequins are used to show passerbys in the subway. He’s not beating up the same doll but different dolls everytime.
@1moremilgram-enjoyer mentioned in this post that Mikoto has two different ways of swinging the bat into his victim(s) with switching from the right-hand way of swinging then going to his left. This, on top of the different directions of the swings to the head with new dolls, it supports the idea he could have multiple victims. (Though other Milgram characters are shown to be using both hands interchangeably so keep that in mind)
In the first trial his victim isn’t shown wearing a hat but Mikoto throws one away along with the trash bag that is probably the body of a victim. This can also be used as support to the idea he had multiple victims.
———
The mannequin dolls also represent his job/art career
It has been stated that Mikoto has/is going to an arts university.
The specific mannequin dolls shown are the ones that are used for sketching/drawing as a reference and not the ones used for clothes and sewing.
And here’s this:
It’s interesting how he went to college for art/fashion designing and now he works at an Advertisement company.
He is clearly being overworked at his job. In the subway it’s dark showing it’s nighttime and in his first trial he is shown coming to work late.
@boxx-sama posted this translation:
he is out under a lot of pressure to keep up with his job’s demands.
I just thought it was cool the mannequins have double meaning that they represent his victims and his work at the same time

AAAAAAAAAAAA
Okay look, I think I'm going insane. We learn here in Double that Orekoto seems to be right handed, right?
Right? He always holds the bat with his right. And when he goes to swing, he swings with his left facing the "pitcher", which is how you swing if you're right handed.
Except.
There, his right is to the pitcher. That's a left-handed swing. You can even tell it doesn't make sense that that's the same swing just looking at the two images.
The bat is on the left. Only the left hand is bloody. And even the backside of the hand is bloody, so it's not like we're not seeing the blood on the right, there just isn't blood there. But notice the first alter isn't holding the bat.
Ends with blood on both hands.
Guys, I think we've gotten something wrong. There may not be just one murderer. Two alters have killed, I think.

wait maybe its bc im lowkey dumb but i cant seem to understand nikolai's morals. Maybe bc when he was talking about how he understands what he does is wrong but another side of him doesn't really feel guilty, i read that a while ago and cant remember. Also why is so obsessed with being "free"?
don’t worry, ur not dumb lol. it took me a while to fully understand too. somehow this turned into a mini analysis so here we go 😭
nikolai gogol
— his obsession with freedom, killing, and fyodor (mini analysis? PFFFT-)
so it’s important to remember that one of the many themes in bsd is freedom. although it isn’t really visible and talked about (unlike the cycle of abuse), we can see the concept of “being free” shown in characters like nikolai, dazai, and fyodor (they’re all shown differently, mind you) but i’ll only talk mostly about gogol right now.
nikolai’s idea of freedom is complete erasure of feeling and connection. he believes that the true path to freedom is not being able to feel anything or not being tied down by your emotions.
now this is funny because he is completely attached to fyodor. and that is what scares him. being attached and dependent on something, especially a human, is scary. so that’s why he wants to kill fyodor. to erase the emotion inside of him.
in nikolai’s eyes, emotion drags people down, makes them weak and vulnerable. he believes that emotion causes conflicts—so erasing emotion must mean not having problems. if you can’t feel, you cannot be in pain. in a way, his logic makes sense.
nikolai views himself stuck in a cage and unable to get out. if he can’t “get out”—he’ll just erase the problem completely. in this case, his emotions (fyodor).
he gets attached to fyodor and then begins planning on killing him to erase that attachment and emotion. erasing his feelings means to be “free.” it’s evident that he has attachment issues.
he makes contradicting statements such as “i am a monstrous person” and “i am completely sane” going on to say he feels a sense of guilt and sympathy just like any other normal person.
i feel like these claims were more for himself; it was a wake up call for him because he realized that no matter how much he pretends to be an emotionless monster…he really isn’t. he is just trying to protect himself from all the pain and suffering he’s feeling. he views emotions as being trapped.
he doesn’t want to feel or associate himself with human beings. i think that’s the reasons for his clown costume. clowns are ridiculed, clumsy, tossed aside, and are considered comedic relief. nikolai uses this to put on a clown act of being hyper and crazy. he somewhat fakes and exaggerates his mania to seem full of emotion and much like a human. (sound familiar? a certain bandaged bastard also does this haha 😎)
except for the fact—he knows he is human. he feels human emotions, even though he doesn’t want to. when he says the line “i am completely sane,” it’s his way of ignoring his issues and running from his problems (sound familiar again 😎?)
in conclusion: nikolai, fyodor, and dazai are all the same breed of bastards. i think nikolai is very underrated, especially when it comes to parallels between characters. i know fyodor and dazai are considered parallels, but so is nikolai.
if anyone wants to add something more or correct me, feel free to do so 😎!!

The most disastrous take of all time
Okay, but seriously, Adam Taurus' story is a White Saviour narrative where the White Saviour ends up being the villain.
Look at every other Faunus in the show. The Belladonnas are Japanese, Ilia is clearly Cherokee, Sienna is Indian, Corsac and Fennec are little harder to pin down but clearly POC.
The most major Faunus character who's clearly white, besides Adam, is Velvet. And she isn't involved in the Faunus plotline beyond demonstrating anti-Faunus discrimination.
Meanwhile, look at Adam. Dude is clearly White. And yet he appropriates a lot of Japanese iconography. A Japanese sword, a Japanese fighting style, even both his outfits look Japanese in style. This is both symbolic of his efforts to try and take Blake's place as the next leader of the Faunus, and key part of White Saviour narratives, where the White Person immerses themselves in the culture that they end up the Chosen One of.
(That might be why he has so many defenders: Adam's basically a Weeaboo.)
In effect, he steals Blake's culture as much he steals her narrative, her destiny amongst the faunus, and her innocence.
He keeps her as a trophy, as an object to legitimize his claim to all that he steals.
So when she breaks free from him, and sets out against him, she's taking back what he stole. And to try and preserve his legitimacy, he tries to eliminate her.
In a poorer narrative, Adam would be the hero. The Mighty Whitey who saves the poor minority, the Chosen One from outside the group. But Blake takes her narrative back from him. The WOC is the true hero of the story.
(And speaking of tropes that Blake subverts, their relationship is a subversion of what TvTropes calls the "Dark Mistress" trope: a female villain defined by the fact that she's in a relationship with a male villain who's her superior. Blake is actually a moral person, a hero, and manages to break away from Adam, as his villainy and abuse make her realize he was never the man she loved. Her story is about her, not Adam.)

OBERON TREND KING
congratulations to oberon for winning 8th place in the twitter trends for japan 🎉 he ranked higher than evangelion, the chainsaw man pv, uma musume and a bunch of other big names. sasuga oberon. from what i'm seeing in the results, he was also the highest trend for an fgo character this year and his name trended more than the #fgo hashtag.
