ough yeah, when i was going through gathering the names of everything, it was sooo annoying going from source to source to only find fragments of info, so i had to try to figure out some translations on my own- which im far from fluent in learning japanese, i barely have much of hiragana remembered, so i had to try to find accurate translations for individual words online, referencing multiple sites and crossing info with each other to figure out what would make most sense in the titles, and use what tiny bit i already knew to get everything.

yeah adhd has been kicking my ass for yeaaars. im hoping ill be getting a diagnosis within the next month once i get my testing results, then maybe i can finally get it wrangled and get back to creating stuff more 😓 and i actually only got into yyh a few years ago! i watched it i think in... 2020? or 2021? (i have no sense of time lol) bc my girlfriend recommended it to me- because she knew i would absolutely love hiei and kurama, especially hiei LMAO. she knows me too well. hiei is too much my type- as i said in my tags, hes literally just shadow. except way more of an asshole. and his sister is still alive JGKJDK. i actually have a whole post about how much theyre just The Same Damn Person, and i could probably still add plenty more to it. ill never get over duos that consist of edgy tsundere dorks and their pretty thieving partners that tease them endlessly <3 kurahi is just au shadouge to me LOL

so far the only yyh chars ive drawn have been hiei and kurama, surprise surprise lol. i havent done it too many times so far tho, but i have a million ideas in mind that i will get to EVENTUALLY. i have too many thoughts about them that i HAVE to get out someday.

yeah highkey i wanted to start ripping yyh frames just to admire hiei, get clean shots of kurama to make icons of, and for these yyh memes that i like making LOL. its also just very fun to look at how things were animated in the show and see the frames that are easy to miss. hiei is most defintely the absolute highlight for me though <3 once i get to ripping the frames for his episodes ill be taking so long just bc ill keep stopping to look at him LOL and yes HIS CLAWSSS i love his claws so much. also kurama is has such a natural grace to him, its always fun seeing his various movements!

i dont think tumblr would be very good for the way i want to format the transcript, would be very tedious and lacking if i tried. id probably just link to it on here, and try finding some sites meant for transcripts to put them on. id like to have it at the very least on 2 sites, in case one of the sites go down or some other issue happens. i just want it to be easily findable + readable! and im not familiar with making sites at all, but have been interested trying out neocities or somethin someday... so a potential option i suppose!

also yeah hiei and kurama are def BOTH to blame for my yyh hyperfixation, they are exactly the kind of characters and dynamic i fucking adore. they VERY quickly made it into my top favorite characters of all time along with shadow and rouge. im a huge kurama and rouge kinnie and am in love with hiei and shadow so im in DEEP with these bitches lmao

AHHHHHHHHHH THIS IS GOING TO GET SOOOO LONG!!!! i have a different view of the indo fam as a whole. i call them the indo fam but i mean the found family trope!!!! theyre like a group of college students sharing a dorm if that makes sense, since their servant selves are obviously different from their initial myths/human vessels!!!

OK SO. RECENTLY, i have an oomf that found books about arjuna that summarize his exploits in the mahabharata(I DONT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO READ IT ALL IM SO SORRY) and also talk about him in a more philosphical manner such as his states of mind during each event etc and i’ve been meaning to read said book because im genuinely interested in arjuna now!!! and i’d like to know more about this indo prince because from what i’ve seen, he is portrayed in a rather bad light(?) in FGO which i find extremely !!!!!!!!!!! and incrdibley !!!!!!! strange !!!!!!! the mahabharata’s conflicts can be put in a mostly grey area where there’s no good nor bad, its not black and white. so seeing arjuna get bashed because of the way his conflict with karna was written is... hm. let’s say that im REALLY starting to understand arjuna fans that dislike seeing him get mischaracterized so much. OTHER THAN THAT, his design is adorable, his travel outfit is my favourite because he deserves to relax and have some fun!!! fgo making him a chuuni is cute and his VAs little moans are cute cute cute!!!!!!!!!!! (mash grabs my shoulder and forces me to sit down) i think that arjuna deserves better and im really happy to see him have fun in his travel costume voicelines. i think we should take arjun on a date!!! he’s a great lover, we’d have the best time!! ANEWAYS i also have quite the thoughts about karna, his characterization in the game is linked to arjuna’s and thats fine but i think that forgetting how much of a little sassy bastard he can get was a mistake! did you know that in apocrypha’s german dub on netflix, when jeanne calls his name like “You’re Karna, aren’t you ? The son of the Indian Sun God !” HES LIKE “So ?” AND THAT WAS SOOOO BITCHY OF HIM, i think that karna is a good boy in fgo but the fact that he was such a fighty old man in the mahabharata shouldnt be forgotten and is a charm trait. I MEAN ???? HE THREW HANDS WITH AN 18 YEAR OLD(ARJUN) WHILE BEIN LIKE... THIRTY TWO. ganesha is also a character im deeply interested in but i havent played CCC so i dont know that many details about jinako herself !! my brain goes HMMMMMM it seems lord ganesha is trans in fgo ! (since kama used to be a male god originally as well!!) ganesha uses all pronouns!!! and ganesha is also special to me because they share similar traits with kama when it comes to their characterization AND mischaracterizations. ganesha isnt JUST jinako. theres a part of a god in the servant mix!!! and jinako HERSELF is actually a pretty sad character imo. the whole otaku/neet thing is obviously a facade and her true wish being that she wants to redo her whole life is also proof of how much she hates what shes become, yet at the same time, she doesnt know what else she could do. but anyways, i prefer looking at servants from a lore POV so i think that ganesha should still be considered a god and be adressed as such!! i like seeing people portray ganesha as jinako but i prefer it when a certain lavish more godly side of them is put forward. a side of jinako that managed to move on a little bit if that makes sense ? that got more serious. and became someone else entierly despite sharing similarities. needless to say their bond with karna makes me happy since he shows them respect as you should towards a god!! its a bit different from their bond in CCC... like they matured somewhat!! anyway ganesha is the one who taught everyone else in the indo fam about video games and technology and i will NEVER shut up.

parvati is on a tough spot for me atm. i genuinely love thinking of her as the way the indian goddess herself is portrayed because thats where the fun lies for me in her character. especially when shes involved with other indian servants, thats a given!! i would like to see parvati grow, suffer and heal. because branding her as an “all-knowing mom” is easy, but every single parent makes mistakes if you follow that logic. also, since shes the sakura servant “thats closest to her initial personality”, she’s got some of the most Repulsive fans ive Ever witnessed in fandom spaces and lets say that im trying to work my way out of this hellhole and find things to like about parvati without the fandom’s influence. needless to say, im going to keep looking into her mythos and her lore by myself at my own pace and keep doing my own thing in my little corner. 

rama shouldve been a jock. THE RAMAYANA IS OLDER THAN THE MAHABHARATA, WHY IS.....Hrm well him being summoned as his baby version gives me hope for a future rama alt perhaps??? but i think that he shouldve been a total jock and he shouldve been huge with a huge red lion-like mane for his hair and a teethy grin and big biceps and intense love for his wife. does the person who designed this know how much theyve done for the lgbt community? i hope they do. i love.. a lot about this costume. i love the ears, i love how techno it is, i love the layers to it.. im.. not a big fan of the whole military thingy but i have to admit that applying it to the design itself is kind of neat.. i love the colors too and how.. practical it is while being. well. kinda dramatic? the whole bat aesthetic.. yeah. i love it. 9/10

this one.. when u think about it the outlaw version is VEEERY similar to this one: the pants, the hood, the jacket eve. however i like this helmet so much more, i have a weakness for eyeless (??) helmets.. i like the little details of it as well, i remember that pic going around of it being held together with like. fuckign stitches and bandaids. legendary. i love this look, i would say 9+/10

god, it’s hard to choose. i’m sad about a lot of them dying. i guess i felt pretty sad that rantaro died so early on in v3, after finding out that he had already gone through a previous killing game and survived. it sucks that he went through all of that just to be killed off immediately in the next one lol.

the first person that popped into my mind here was owari. her character really didn’t interest me at all and she went through no actual development iirc, but after finding out that she was initially planned to be a big antagonist, it’s disappointing that instead she was sidelined to be a very one-dimensional character. it would’ve been cool if they at least did something with her.

again i am probably biased here but chapter 5 of sdr2, lol. i mean, komaeda specifically planned it out to be unsolvable, that’s pretty genius imo.

i guess kamu//nami? i don’t know how popular that is but i don’t like it. i was going to say hina//nami as well but then i remembered i’ve written fic with that pairing before, lmao. but that was before dr3, to be fair. i feel like dr3 kind of tainted hina//nami for me.

100. Opinion on all the Protagonists!

naegi - i love this boy, he is so pure and good. i feel like i really didn’t care about him too much at first because he seemed so generic to me, but after playing through sdr2 and seeing him appear at the end, i had such a renewed appreciation for him for some reason. his capacity for hope and forgiveness is very admirable, and i like that he was really the only person junko was never able to get to falter.

hinata - like a lot of people, i was immediately drawn to how different he was from naegi, and found it endearing and amusing how he was kind of rude and sardonic and just so fed up with everyone’s shit. despite that, he had a lot of insecurities about being so ordinary, which i find kind of relatable. i also like how despite his complicated relationship with komaeda, he still tried to understand him. i love him a lot. 

komaru - i don’t really remember a lot about this game; i actually kind of forgot about it until i was sitting here thinking of all the dangan ronpa protagonists i knew of for this question, lol. but i liked komaru. she definitely went through a lot of development in the game and went from being a scared little girl to a hero, which was cool to see. i also thought her relationship with fukawa and syo was pretty cute.

saihara - words cannot describe how much i love this little emo boy. i’m not a huge fan of v3 in general, but i really liked him. first of all i thought the reveal that he was actually the real protag of the game was really cool and wild (even though it sucked kaede had to die). and once again he was a pretty different personality from the previous games, being so nervous and not confident in his abilities, and actually being depressed and fighting with falling into despair through the course of the game’s events. i found him to be the most realistic in terms of how an ordinary person would react to a killing game scenario. i also thought it was neat to finally have a protag who had an actual talent, and i’ve always had a soft spot for detective boys.

i know dangan ronpa has other installments and spin offs and stuff but i don’t really know any other protags well enough to give my opinion. (well, i did read some of dr0, but that was a while ago so i don’t remember much.)

Adrien’s first thought when he awoke that morning was of Marinette. Even Nathalie’s rapid knocks on his bedroom door couldn’t stop his heart from fluttering at the idea of seeing her later that day. Soon, however, that giddiness completely evaporated. He literally rejected her a week ago. God, why was he such an idiot? Marinette was amazing and super pretty. They could have shared a world of colors together if he had only said yes. A longing sigh escaped him as he imagined what that would be like. Groaning, Adrien buried his face into his pillow in an attempt to smother himself. Before he could do so, however, Nathalie entered the room, “Adrien, you need to get up. You have a photoshoot this morning, remember?”

Letting out a quiet whine, he turned his head to the side to give her a weak smile, “Thank you, Nathalie.”

She gave him a brisk nod before turning and heading out of his room. Sitting up, he scrubbed his face with his hands, blowing out a long breath of air. As Adrien made his way over to the bathroom, Plagg floated up from beneath his bed covers and followed him, “Well, somebody looks cheerful this morning,” he snickered sarcastically.

“Oh, shut up, Plagg,” he glared at his kwami.

“Hey, it’s not my fault you didn’t get with pigtails when you had the chance,” the small, black cat rolled his eyes at him, “In fact, may I remind you that I’ve been trying to tell you that you’ve been in love with her all along.”

“I know,” Adrien sighed as he got dressed, “I’m really just mad at myself for not realizing sooner.”

“I understand, kid,” Plagg nods before rubbing his belly, “Now would you get me some camembert, all this talk about love is making me hungry.”

Rolling his eyes at the gluttonous kwami, he spits out his toothpaste, wiping his mouth as he walks over to the supply of camembert. A sudden thought strikes him when he grabbed a piece of the stinky cheese and he turned to Plagg with wide, panicked eyes, “Plagg! What about Ladybug?!”

“What about her?” the small cat asked, his eyes completely focused on the cheese that was still in Adrien’s grip.

“How can I be in love with both Marinette and Ladybug?! Neither of them deserves that,” he ran a hand through his hair anxiously.

“My lips are sealed unless you give me that cheese,” Plagg said hungrily.

Adrien rolled his eyes before tossing the piece at the small cat. He watched in disgust as the whole piece was devoured in one bite, “Ugh, Plagg you’re incorrigible.”

The kwami merely grinned mischievously before taking on a more serious look, “Well if we’re being honest kid, only one of them has ever shown any interest in you.”

“Yeah, I suppose you’re right,” his brow furrowed, “Thanks for the talk, Plagg,” Adrien murmured before making his way downstairs.

“You’re welcome,” he beamed before diving into the boy’s front pocket.

Trudging into his dining room with a loud yawn, Adrien practically collapsed on the chair by his freshly-made breakfast. For the first time, the early morning hour hit him and he was struck by a wave of exhaustion. Scarfing down the small breakfast in front of him he downed his orange juice in one gulp. Chewing on his avocado toast, the model contemplated exactly what he was going to say to Marinette. 

As though sensing exactly when he had finished, Nathalie arrived into the dining room, “Are you finished with your meal?” she looked down at his empty plate with a quirked eyebrow. Adrien nodded at her, his lips quirking into a slight smirk before she handed him a slip of paper, “Good. Your driver is ready to take you to your photoshoot then,” the assistant turned and briskly walked out of the room as he followed along behind her, shooting one last, longing glance at his bedroom upstairs. 

I could be in bed sleeping right now, he thought forlornly.

As he slid into one of the plush leather seats of the limo outside, Nathalie turned to him with an expectant look, “The shoot should only take about 30 minutes, so don’t worry about being late for class.”

“I understand,” Adrien nodded before muttering quietly, “Besides, father would never let me be late for school.”

“What was that Adrien?” her eyes narrowed at him suspiciously.

He merely smiled at her innocently, “Nothing. Just wondering what class will be like today.”

Nathalie nodded at him before turning to her notes, leaving him to contemplate his thoughts to himself. Turning to gaze out at the colorless world from his window, his thoughts drifted to Marinette and how he was going to apologize to her. Sighing, Adrien rested his chin on his hand, vainly hoping that there was a way to salvage their relationship.

And perhaps add something more to it, a small, nagging voice taunted him, causing a red flush to light up his cheeks. Stop that! You ruined any chance you had with Marinette and you know it, he berated himself.

Soon, his limo had pulled up to the park where his photoshoot was getting set up. Directly after he stepped out of the car, he was immediately rushed into hair and make-up. Once again, Adrien’s thoughts drifted over to a certain designer and he wished that she were here instead. The usual long, boring process of hair and make-up passed rather quickly as he imagined Marinette’s hands fixing his hair and applying his bronzer. Eventually, he was snapped out of his daydreams as they finished up and hurried him outside. 

Vincent stood there with a large grin as he neared the fountain, “Adrien! You look fantastico! It is amazing to see you once again.”

The model chuckled at the eccentric photographer, “You as well, Vincent. It’s been a while since I’ve had a photoshoot.”

“I hope you haven’t forgotten everything, then,” he winked at the boy in front of him before toying with his camera, “Now I’m going to need looks of passion and awe from you, think you can do that?”

Adrien bit his lip, a small, shy smile spreading across his face as he nodded at the photographer, “Yeah, I think I can.”

I don’t think it’ll be too hard to look like that when I can barely stop myself from thinking of Marinette.

Leaning back, Adrien imagined just what it would feel like to be the designer’s boyfriend. A feeling of intense longing welled up from within him as he wondered what it would have been like had he accepted her feelings from the beginning. His fingers tightened around nothing as he envisioned holding Marinette’s hand and pulling her in for a sweet kiss. A small sigh left his lips as he imagined the colors they could have shared together.

As expected, the photographer gasped as he began snapping shot after shot, “Perfetto! Magnifico!” 

It was easy coming up with the looks that Vincent continuously shouted at him as he daydreamed about the adorable designer. In fact, it was almost too easy picturing Marinette as his girlfriend. With shocking clarity, Adrien realized that this was not the first time he had done this. He had thought about her multiple times during photoshoots, especially when she was right across from him when he invited her to come watch after the battle with Troublemaker. His eyes strayed over to her usual position longingly and, for a second, it almost seemed as though she were there, smiling cheerfully over at him. The model’s fists clenched together tightly with anger and bitterness. Had I just realized sooner none of this would have happened, he thought to himself furiously.

“No! No!” Vincent’s voice broke through Adrien’s sullen musings, “That is the expression of a boy who has just received a bowl of limp noodles! I want to see a look a bowl full of spaghetti inspires!”

“Sorry,” he murmured sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck nervously, “It won’t happen again,” Adrien assured before shaking off the angry thoughts. 

The rest of the photoshoot passed rather quickly with Vincent shouting out small words of encouragement and inspiration for poses. When the thirty minutes were up, Nathalie quickly hurried him into the limo, “You did very well today, Adrien. Vincent tells me that this was some of your best work,” she said as she looked through her notes.

The boy blinked at her in surprise for a moment, “Really? Wow, I’m glad.”

“Just make certain that you do just as well in the photoshoot after school today,” she shot him a pointed glance before turning back to their notes. 

Adrien gulped quietly, nodding at her before turning to face the window. His stomach tightened into knots as they slowly neared the school. Running over exactly what he had planned to say to the girl that had taken over his thoughts for most of the day, he placed his hand over the door handle. When they slowed to a stop in front of the entrance, he quickly bolted out of the car, eagerly running straight to class. Adrien’s eyes immediately shot straight to Marinette’s seat and his heart sank in disappointment when he realized it was empty.

Damn, I was really hoping to talk to her before class today, he thought to himself, his lips pursing in slight annoyance as he slid into his seat.

As the minutes ticked ever nearer, and more and more students entered the classroom, Adrien’s stomach continued to tighten anxiously. When his best friend, Nino, arrived he attempted to make light conversation with him, yet his eyes were continuously drawn to the door whenever it opened.

“You waiting for someone, dude?” Nino quirked an eyebrow at him after his eyes strayed for the fifth time.

A light flush brushed across his cheeks as he realized he was caught. With an awkward chuckle, he rubbed the back of his neck nervously, “Yeah. I ran out on Marinette during our project last night and I wanted to apologize.”

“Because of your dad?” the DJ gave him an understanding nod, clapping a hand to his shoulder sympathetically.

“Yeah,” Adrien winced slightly, a guilty feeling gnawing at his insides.

Nino merely smiled widely, squeezing his shoulder, “Ah, well you know Marinette! If she’s two minutes late, she’s five minutes early, and besides, it is Marinette we’re talking about! You’re probably already forgiven, dude!”

“I guess,” he mumbled, glanced down at his notebook awkwardly. The sound of the bell jolted him out of his dreary thoughts and he quickly focused on Mlle. Bustiers’ lesson. 

Rather soon afterwards, Marinette stumbled her way into the classroom, apologizing profusely before rushing over to her seat. Adrien watched her sit down with an adoring smile on his face. His previous feelings of anxiousness completely disappeared into a wave of butterflies from her presence alone.

After Mlle. Bustier turned around once again to continue their lesson, he felt a small tap on his shoulder. Turning around, he was met with Marinette’s beaming, adorable face as she smiled down at him, “I was hoping you’d be in class today because I made you this,” she whispered, pulling out a bag and handing it over to him, “Are you feeling better after yesterday?”

Adrien nodded dumbly at her for a moment before he snapped out of his stupor, taking the bag from her with a purposeful brush of their fingers. He reached inside and grabbed a perfect-looking croissant out, “Thank you, Marinette,” he murmured breathily back.

“It’s no problem at all!” her grin grew wider, “I just hope that it’s still warm! I rushed over here as fast as I could,” she nibbled lightly on her lip.

“I’m certain that it’s perfect, Marinette,” he whispered back at her, quickly turning around before they could get caught. Adrien immediately bit into his croissant, letting the savory flavor explode on his tongue. The warmth from the pastry mixed perfectly well with the light layer of butter and he practically devoured the treat. He gave Marinette a quick thumbs-up and a beaming grin before facing Mlle. Bustier once again.

For the first time in his life, the model realized that sitting in front of Marinette was the worst thing ever. He practically ached with the need to turn around and stare at the girl as she worked. Luckily, Adrien managed to sneak a few peeks at the girl behind him and watch her tongue stick out in utter concentration as she took notes. However, these looks did not go unnoticed by Alya who raised her eyebrows at him smugly. The model merely gave her a shaky smile, shrugging with a faint blush spreading across his cheeks before turning back to his notes.

When the bell finally rang at the end of his last class, Adrien packed his things eagerly, hoping to meet Marinette outside and exchange a few words with her before going to his photoshoot. 

And maybe have a chance to discuss the current status of your relationship, a sly voice snickered from inside him.

Brushing the voice off, Adrien quickly hurried outside, scanning the grounds for Marinette. Though he was unable to find her, his limo was already nearing the school’s entrance. Huffing out a breath of air angrily, he waved goodbye to Nino and trudged over to the car. With a tired smile at the Gorilla, he slid into his seat with a quiet sigh. Adrien’s eyes glanced over at the empty seat next to him, wishing futilely that Marinette was here and that they were going to her house to study instead of the park for another shoot. 

Instead of Marinette, however, Nathalie slid into the empty seat, giving him a polite nod, “Good afternoon, Adrien.”

“Good afternoon, Nathalie,” he gave her a tired smile in response.

“I trust you already know that you have a photoshoot in twenty minutes?”

The model nodded, “Yes, Nathalie. Thank you for reminding me, though.”

“You’re welcome, Adrien,” she said curtly, “It shouldn’t take long if you do as well tonight as you did this morning.”

“Let’s hope so,” Adrien murmured, leaning his head back against the headrest as his eyes fluttered closed. It didn’t take long before they arrived, and his peace was interrupted as he was whisked into hair and make-up. Only light touches needed to be reapplied to his face and hair before he was placed back in front of the camera.

What a great day today was, he thought to himself bitterly, I barely got to talk to Marinette and these photoshoots are just the worst.

Placing his usual, model smile on his face he tried to get through the photoshoot as quickly as he could. When they were nearly wrapping up, his eyes were drawn to a lone figure on a bench nearby who was staring up at the sky. It took a few seconds before he realized that it was Marinette and his eyes lit up in excitement, “Uh, Vincent, would you um, mind if we stopped early?”

“Hmm, give me just a few more pictures in a new pose and I bet I will have enough to wrap up here,” he beamed at him, “But make them count, Monsieur Agreste.”

Adrien nodded eagerly, puffing out his chest with a confident smile as he continually glanced over at the bench to check on Marinette, vainly hoping that she might spot them. Within a few more pictures, Vincent let out a happy cry and let Adrien go.

With a thankful smile at his photographer, he slowly walked over to the girl who was clearly sketching a new design. Gulping nervously to himself, he tapped on her shoulder watching her look up at him startled, “You making a new outfit?” the model grinned down at her.

“Oh, Adrien! I didn’t know you were here!” Marinette looked him up and down which caused his face to turn a deep red. He practically squealed in his head, feeling his heart beat faster as her gaze returned to his face with a curious smile, “You look different. You had a photoshoot after school today, right?”

“Yeah, I did,” Adrien sat next to her, letting his foot rest against her own, as he preened slightly for her, “What do you think?”

Marinette giggled, shaking her head at him with a roll of her eyes, “You look great, Adrien. Though I suspect you already know this.”

“Yeah but your opinion is the only one that matters to me,” he poked her side teasingly.

Her mouth dropped open into a cute expression of surprise before her brow furrowed and she gave him a strange look, “Really?”

“Y-yeah because you’re a fashion designer and everything,” Adrien chuckled at her nervously, scratching the back of his neck. And because I want to look good for you, he added to himself silently.

“Mhm,” Marinette hummed before returning to her sketch.

He leaned closer to look at the design, breathing in a deep breath full of cinnamon and cookies, “So, like I was saying before, what are you working on?”

Her lips slowly spread into a wide smile and damn if he didn’t want to kiss that look right off her face. Marinette’s eyes shot up to the sky for a moment before returning to his gaze, “I got really inspired by the sky yesterday so I was making a new dress. Do you wanna see?”

“Of course!” Adrien used the excuse to shuffle closer, letting his arm bump against her own, feeling a trail of warmth run along his arm with the movement. He gazed down at the pretty, poofy dress and imagined how beautiful she would look in it, “Wow, Marinette, that looks amazing!” he breathed out.

“You really think so?” she bit her lip shyly as she glanced at him from beneath her lashes.

He nodded quickly to assure her, “Oh definitely! You know I think your designs are just the greatest!” Adrien took a deep gulp of air before continuing, “And I think you would look amaz-”

Before he could finish his sentence, he was cut off by a throat clearing in front of them. He looked up to see Nathalie glaring down at the two of them, tapping her heels in the ground impatiently, “I heard from Vincent that you left the photoshoot early. Is that true, Adrien?”

His brow furrowed as he leaned away from Marinette, “Well yes but-”

“Your father is going to be extremely disappointed to hear this, Adrien. You know that if you finish early you’re to head straight home,” her angry glare chilled him and he shrank back from her slightly.

Before he could open his mouth to explain, Marinette stood up with a remorseful smile, “I’m so sorry, Mlle. Sancouer. This is all my fault,” she paused to take in a deep breath of air, “You see after Adrien went home early from our group project, I asked him if he would be able to get out of one of his photoshoots early and come meet with me. I had a few more questions to ask him and I honestly didn’t realize it would be so important, considering he had two shoots today.”

“Is this true, Adrien?” Nathalie turned to look at him as he stared up at Marinette in awe.

“Hmm?” his head snapped to hers at the sound of his name before he stood up, nodding sadly, “Yeah, I’m really sorry Nathalie. I honestly didn’t realize it was going to take up so much time.”

She gave them a brisk nod, “Then that is acceptable. However, next time tell me so that this does not happen in the future. Finish discussing the state of your project soon and then come to the limo so that we can head home,” with that, she turned and strode away from the two teens.

“I can’t thank you enough, Marinette,” Adrien reached out for her hand, giving it a quick squeeze.

 “Don’t mention it, Adrien,” she smiled at him, “I just didn’t want to see you get in trouble over nothing.”

She’s absolutely amazing, he thought to himself with awe, How come I never noticed that before?!

“Still, thank you so much, Marinette. You have no idea how much trouble you’ve just saved me from. Where did you learn how to do that?”

She giggled sweetly before nodding over his shoulder, “Let's just say I've gotten good at coming up with excuses recently. Now, you had better go before you get in trouble again. I don’t know how many excuses Nathalie will accept before you really do get in trouble.”

Giving her hand one last squeeze, Adrien let go of her reluctantly. Staring down into her beautiful, sparkling eyes he made the quick decision to lean down and peck her cheek, “See you tomorrow, Marinette,” he whispered in her ear before swiftly dashing off towards the car.

He sighed dreamily after sitting down in one of the comfy seats, causing Nathalie to look at him curiously, “Did you finish answering all of her questions regarding the assignment?”

“Yeah, yeah I did,” Adrien nodded dumbly, still staring off into space as he envisioned himself stealing Marinette’s lips in a kiss instead of just her cheek. Continuing down that line of thought he barely even realized that they had arrived home until Nathalie shut the car door loudly. Snapping out of his daydreams, he practically floated his way up to his bedroom before falling onto his bed with a loud sigh.

“Feeling any better, lover boy?” Plagg snickered down at him.

“Mhm,” he hummed happily, “Did you hear the way she stood up for me, Plagg? God, she’s perfect!”

His kwami merely rolled his eyes at him, “Are you going to be like this all the time now, Adrien? I don’t know how much of this I’ll be able to handle.”

“Just wait until we get married and have three kids and a little pet hamster,” Adrien sighed loudly, “I’ll be absolutely insufferable by then.”

“Yuck, all this talk about love is making me sick. Got any cheese to make up for it?” Plagg asked hopefully. The model nodded his head before getting up and tossing the black cat a piece from his stash. The kwami’s eyes narrowed in suspicion as he ate the slice of camembert, “Huh, that was easy. Usually, you put up more of a fight before giving me my cheese.”

Ignoring the kwami, Adrien shook his head, “I have to confess, Plagg. I don’t know how much longer I can stand not being with her. Especially with how amazing and beautiful she is.”

The small, black cat chuckled, “I can’t wait to see how that’ll go seeing how you rejected her about a week ago.”

His eyes took on a mischievous twinkle as he smiled at Plagg, “Adrien rejected her, Plagg. I know someone else who didn't. Someone she’s also confessed too,” he shook the hand containing his ring in front of his kwami’s face with a smug smile.

“No, no, no!” the small cat begged, “Let’s not be hasty here kid and just wai-”

“Plagg claws out!” Adrien interrupted the kwami’s pleadings as he felt the energy rush through his bones. 

With an excited bounce to his step, Chat Noir immediately leapt out the window. Taking off into the night, he felt the wind ruffle his hair as he scanned the ground for what he needed. It didn’t take long before he spotted it, and he quickly and neatly landed next to the rose bush. The superhero searched the bush for the perfect flower before he finally found it, plucking the delicate rose from where it was hidden within the leaves. Carefully slicing the thorns with his claws he tucked the flower behind his belt before he took off for Marinette’s house. 

Rehearsing exactly what he was going to say to her in his confession, Chat prayed that he wouldn’t freeze up in her presence and forget everything. Butterflies fluttered happily within his stomach as he neared her balcony and he took in a huge gulp of breath. Landing right next to the trapdoor, he reached out to knock on the hatch before pausing, “You can do this, Chat,” he whispered to himself nervously as he began pacing, “It’s just Marinette. You know her and it’s never been hard to talk to her before.”

With those last encouraging words, he ran a hand through his hair anxiously before leaning down and quickly knocking on the small trapdoor. Chat’s hand went behind his back to reassure himself that the rose was still there. As he heard movement from down below, he clutched the flower in his grasp tighter.

Within a few moments, Marinette’s bright face grinned up at him in a wonderful beam, “Chaton!” she jumped up and tackled him into a giant embrace.

He stumbled back from the force of her hug and almost lost his grip on the rose. Holding onto the flower tightly with one hand he used the other to snuggle deeper into the girl’s embrace. Her warmth sent delicate shivers up his spine, lighting his body on fire before he leaned back to look down at her.

“I have news!” they both blurted out at the same time.

Giggling, Marinette gestures at him, “You go first. What do you need to tell me?”

Taking a deep breath, Chat holds onto the rose tighter, “Well,” he drags out before he’s cut off by the designer.

“Did you know that the sky is blue?” she practically squeals, biting her lower lip with barely contained excitement.

“W-what?” he breathed out, his grip loosening around the rose.

“Luka asked me out yesterday!” she practically shouts, bouncing with joy.

His mouth drops and his heart tumbles along after it, “O-oh and is he your...?” he trailed off, unable to finish the question.

“He’s my soulmate!” Marinette shouts, “I can see blue!” she sings, capturing him in another tight hug.

A long rush of air escapes Chat’s lungs and he can barely manage to stand as his legs buckle uselessly. His grip on the rose is completely lost and it falls off the balcony’s edge, tumbling down to the street below. He forces himself to bring his arms up to hug Marinette back as she continues to squeal about colors.

“It’s just absolutely insane being able to see color!! Blue’s just so beautiful! Did you know that both my hair and eyes are blue?!” 

“I-I’m so happy for you Marinette,” he manages to choke out, trying to stop the rush of tears that are threatening to fall.

She pulls back out of his embrace and Chat attempts to rearrange his face back into a smile, though he’s certain it comes off as more of a grimace. Marinette blinks at him for a moment before grinning softly, “Anyway, enough about me. What about you?! What was your news?”

“Oh n-nothing,” he stutters slightly, backing away from her slowly, “I just wanted to see how you were doing. It looks like you’re doing well, and um, I just remembered that... I need to go now... I have something I need to do. I’m really sorry.”

Her brow furrows as her head tilts to the side in confusion, “O-oh, okay. Are you sure?”

“Yep,” Chat choked out before turning to go.

“Wait, Chaton,” her hand shot out to grip his wrist, turning him back around to face her, “Are you sure you’re alright?”

“Yeah, I-I’m fine,” he barely manages to give her a wobbly smile.

Her grip loosens yet her frown deepens, “Alright. I’ll see you soon though, right?”

“Oh, yeah, definitely,” the superhero nods and Marinette lets go completely, allowing him to jump off her balcony and run straight back home.

“That was weird,” she mumbled to herself, watching him go until he’s entirely out of sight. Shivering slightly, the designer turns and heads back to the warmth of her bedroom.

As he runs from rooftop to rooftop, Chat is unable to stop the tears that leak from his eyes and drop onto the tiles. His vision blurs and he works on muscle memory alone to get home, his mind empty and his emotions numb until he finally bursts through his window. Releasing his transformation, Adrien collapses onto his bed with a quiet sob. He buries his face within a pillow and lets the bitter tears stain the soft surface.

“Kid?” his kwami’s voice pipes up from above him, “You alright?”

“No, no I’m not Plagg,” his head whips up as he looks at the small, black cat, “I ruined my chances with both Marinette and Ladybug. I can’t believe I even thought I still had a shot with her. Especially when I knew that both Marinette and Luka liked each other. Th-this is all my fault,” he sniffled.

“No, it’s not Adrien,” Plagg shakes his head at him before hugging the boy’s shoulder, “It’s no one’s fault.”

“You don’t understand. I could have had Marinette a week ago and I let her go. I let her run straight into Luka’s arms,” another choked sob wracked through Adrien’s body before he clenched his eyes shut tight.

His kwami snuggled further into his arm, “Want me to go cataclysm him?

A bitter laugh escaped him before he could stop it, “No, Plagg. Luka’s my friend and I don’t want to see him or Marinette get hurt.”

“You sure? I can make it so he just loses a rib or two,” the small cat snickered, leaning back, “A few broken bones won’t hurt, I promise.”

“Well, if you’re sure,” Adrien says with a chuckle before hugging his kwami tightly, “Thank you, Plagg, you always know how to cheer me up.”

“Someone’s gotta keep you from getting akumatized,” Plagg squirmed out of his embrace before flopping to the bed uselessly, “Besides I also need cheese and you’re my only supplier.”

Adrien merely rolls his eyes, getting up with one last sniffle before going over to his kwami’s stash and handing him two pieces of the delicious substance. He heard Plagg scarf down the camembert quickly as he dragged himself to the bathroom to change into his pajamas. Quickly changing into the warm, comfy material he dove back into the bed where he struggled to fall asleep.

some disclaimers im getting most of this from an old draft i had written about the au, i havent watched the specific scenes in dbz and dbs that these are based on in well over 2+ years so i dont remember the timeline of events that well so im sorry if some of it just straight up doesnt make sense lol

this whole thing did start out as an excuse to replace the romantic scenes with mai in dbs with goten actually so the truten themes are pretty significant but that aside future goten is a very good boy with a much different personality and outlook on things… much like how future trunks is compared to his main timeline counterpart :3c the whole thing was developed by me and my gf together and we never rly posted too much about it and the broken links you did end up finding were probably from like the one or two times we did but here u go im glad u asked

the big change is it starts out with chi chi getting pregnant before goku dies of heart disease or whatever in the android saga instead of the cell saga, so even after he dies in that timeline she still has their 2nd son and he grows up in the future timeline with trunks.

when they were kids (like 10-15) goten was stronger than trunks just bc gohan and chi chi were there to teach him just a little bit. trunks and goten sparred a lot though so he was able to keep up but never really passed him. (that part isnt really important but i figured it was a nice detail that made sense)

thats when history of trunks comes into play, and they both get really serious about gohan training them. the scene in the movie where gohan knocks trunks out before flying off and getting killed is the same except now he just knocks out 2 kids instead of 1 i guess. 

i feel i gotta add that this au was created when the future trunks arc in dbs was airing, and mai was introduced as his love interest, and honestly in my opinion the scenes were written really well but i just wasnt digging the fact that before she was granted a younger appearance she was already middle aged, like she was old enough to be his mom if that makes sense. so it really isnt a dig on mai at all cause i love her and id die for her its just the romantic plot that i didnt like. so when that was airing i thought “WELL what if that was someone else” 

she’s still with them though in this timeline and she still has her younger appearance! 

the future timeline is still progressing the same as it did in canon, the androids still wrecked the place and no one was strong enough to do much about it so trunks is still set up with a time machine to meet with the other timeline. goten stays back and does his best to protect everyone while hes gone just in case

some stuff happens in between here but skip ahead to trunks coming back from the trip after the cell games i guess! lots of stuff happened obviously like trunks literally dying, spending years in the time chamber with his dad, meeting a whole gaggle of clowns that he’d only heard stories about, seeing gohan as a preteen. hes got a lot of stuff to share!!! now hes back and he can take care of the androids + cell + and goten can catch up and lifes pretty good over there! 😇

during the rebuilding period goten would spend a lot of time with chi-chi and ox-king and still slept over there occasionally which she really appreciated, and he invited trunks and bulma over there with him frequently.

despite this he wasnt present when she died as no one really expected goku black to wipe out the landscape so far from the city, but she and ox-king died along with more than half of the population. (ugh god im so sorry queen i love you😓)

as i said before mai is still here and she’s still the leader of the resistance!

events of future bulmas death is the same as well as mai originally intending to go with trunks when they meet up together in an abandoned building. goten is already there as the three of them rest up a bit and start making their way to capsule corp. goten was planning on staying behind anyways but he wanted to see the two of them off. when goku black interrupts them as they arrive, trunks and goten encourage mai to escape, seeing as she only has a gun and everyone already knows bullets arent gonna work. 

this scene is the same as it was in canon, where trunks tries to rush black but gets beaten quickly. mai trying to buy him time to let him escape is replaced with goten actually fighting him and taking a hit for trunks but getting knocked out as mai did. trunks under extreme stress from already losing his mom today assumes hes dead instantly, (he has dumb bitch disease, he didnt even check for a pulse in canon!🤔) and fires a masenko to escape into capsule on his own 

after trunks pops back in time and black is focused on searching for him, mai sneaks back in to retrieve goten (even though they told her to leave she really just ducked behind some rubble and stayed close, because she wasnt just gonna leave them!)

she takes him back to an underground bunker with other members of earths resistance and when he wakes up she tells him that trunks made it to the time machine and that hes presumably in the other timeline now. 

idk if yall remember it well but i rewatched some of the episodes just for this, and trunks in the main timeline believing goten was killed and mai is alone and he wont be able to get back is so sad. and when he spent that day with gohan and his family and cried thinking about how if black hadn’t have shown up, he couldve had a family too… he doesnt deserve to be this sad 😥

skip to when he’s finally able to get back home with goku and vegeta with him and they make their way to the bunker where he sees mai and goten together! the scene in canon where he rushes over and starts spilling his heart out is the same, with him telling goten he thought he died

they get a really sweet hug moment here when theyre both happy to see the other is still safe and it gives both goku and vegeta some Food For Thought, because goku actually didnt know there was a goten in this timeline, and he doesnt really recognize him at first. vegeta has the idea in his head that this is probably goten.

goten never really had any sort of real attachment to his dad. it makes sense hes never met him, hes only ever really heard about him through others, (his mom, his brother, trunks, and probably bulma has mentioned him as well) so he definitely knows OF him its just that, he doesnt know him. so when he sees the real goku standing there for once a lot of thoughts run though his mind, like, “that looks A LOT like goku black!” “thats definitely my old hairstyle” and “holy shit is that my dad?” but the first thing he actually says out loud is “Holy shit its goku orange” and vegeta really almost loses it because cause any doubt in his mind about this kid being related to kakarot just went right out the window cause only someone related to him would say that

and as you probably know a lot happens after that with them all finding a way to defeat zamasu but i dont want to include all of the rest when you can probably just interpret which scenes were changed  

ANYWAYS now instead of trunks surviving the apocalypse its trunks and goten surviving the apocalypse. thats why its not a really super romantic deal like Who has time for dates when goku black Might possibly be hiding in this abandoned olive garden?? so theyre just very close and privately affectionate

the ending where trunks and mai get to live in a new world with their counterparts is the same except gotens there with them of course, dbs left their ending pretty open 

so that takes care of the story changes, heres some additional details and information on gotens character in this au!

he kept his natural hairstyle for a while, but i think he changed it sometime during the rebuilding period after the androids and just let it grow out a bunch. up until then he kept his natural style purely to honor the guy he’s heard so fondly of even if it brought him a lot of mixed feelings when people said he looks just like him. a really distinct feature about his new hairstyle is that the spikes look like horns and i love that a lot !!

and the shawl he wears was the same one chi chi wore 

some personality traits for future goten is that he has a habit of bottling up his negative emotions and has trouble taking care of himself, as hes always more focused on the well being of his loved ones. he can be mischievous and cocky but hes not overconfident (or he hasnt been since gohans death) however in some situations he can be charismatic and assertive which works really well imowhen their timeline is erased and theyre temporarily in the main timeline, goten gets to meet a bunch of people like gohan and his family, chi chi, and even his counterpart

I will however answer that last question first. I have only been to one concert in my life and that was back when I was a christian and my fave band was The NewsBoys. My great uncle got me and him backstage passes since they were his faves too (although this was after Peter Furler left *cri*). I DO want to see all of these bands in concert though! if I had been able to get a couple hundred bucks together before February I would have seen ONE OK ROCK in minnesota but they were sold out by the time I had money. ofc with my allergies and the fact my #1 anxiety trigger is loud noises, concerts seem impossible, but someday I hope to go to one again.

Jpop/rock??? that has a whole bunch of repetition and cool stimmy rhythms! I think I read somewhere where Kenji Mihara said his goal was to showcase the unique rhythm of the Japanese language, which I think they’re doing wonderfully!

My favorite member is Koji Mihara! He’s Kenji (the lead singer/guitarist)’s twin brother! Koji plays bass guitar and background vocals. Sometimes he does lead vocals and those songs are always my favorite, his voice is very unique! He and his brother dont really look alike despite being twins. I suppose that has a lot to do with Koji’s facial hair.

I think they have 5 albums? Frederhythm2 just came out a few months ago (insert Peggle 2 gif here). Some of the songs are really good but I think I prefer Oddloop and Ototune! although This was the first album I got to see the marketting of, and seeing Koji’s cool as hell graphic designs and animation for each of the songs was super neat!

One of my absolute faves is Moe Kaeru Kisen (which I just posted) it’s one where Koji leads!!! another one I adore, which has Kenji as the lead, is Machigaisagashi No Kuni. The weird laugh in the chorus is very good and stimmy don’t @ me

Jrock music that is??? Heavy in guitar I guess. A lot of the songs are darker and have some uhhh depressive lyrics (my fave song is probably about suicide hhhhh). not all of them are depressive though! There’s one that was used for?? that… one anime… with the blue haired god. Noragami???? maybe? idk the song is Kyouran HEY KIDS!! and its a BOP

Takuya Yamanaka! He’s the lead singer and he plays guitar and I’ve seen pics on insta of live shows where he plays a tamborine rather than guitar (which is so valid like. I can’t imagine rapping Katannakoto while playing guitar and one of their latest songs has him only playing tamborine) I used his hair as inspiration when I lopped mine off. I’ve also drawn him a few times, one very recently too. He’s the one (1) person I draw realistically anymore lmao/ ANYWAY his voice is very good

They have 4 albums! The lates one, Kisses and Kills, came out in August but wasn’t available on Spotify until this month so I’ve been listening to that obsessively. I like most of their albums equally so I can’t say I have a fave!

Kattannakoto! it’s the song that’s vaguely about suicide…. I also ADORE ( i was gonna say LOVE but thats a name of a song and could be confusing LMAO) WARWARWAR soooo much along with uh…Man and Daimaou Sanjyo…. all these songs are good

ONE OK ROCK

Basic Rock but despite being a Japanese band, they rarely write Japanese songs anymore. Seeing the transition from all Japanese to all english is very interesting, and Taka has gotten very good at English! It’s cool hearing the change! Side note, but sometimes their songs have screaming and its :( usually its just a little and I can ignore it but theres a couple songs thats entirely Taka screaming and they make me panic LOL

I am. Less invested in the band members here. I rly like Takahiro Moriuchi (Taka, vocalist) bc his face reminds me of an OC of mine lmao. Fen’s hairstyles have both been based off of him lol

Flamingo, Loser, Lemon, Shunra are good less creepy ones. My fave eerie boy is probably Black Sheep.... Cranberry and Pancake is a bop too. MAD HEAD LOVE is AMAZING but it’s not on Spotify so I never listen to it. It’s like the perfect mix of eerie and normie lmao... dont talk to me about Peace Sign, it’s only so high on his top songs list because fo BNHA and really it’s not that good....

I have less commentary on him bc his songs are just funky little creepy boys. He’s an artist too though so I HIGHLY suggest looking at some of his drawn MV ( especially since his live action ones just feature him moving unnaturally for 4 minutes... )

Was reading this chapter again and was remember at how like.. Somft Roman and Virgil's interactions are?? Like they've come so far, and its just Hhhh my h e a r t. This is most definately one of fics a writer writes for themselves bc they craved softness to balance the angst and honestly I'm just. In love w/ my au. And it pains me that i dont have the energy to draw out each scene that I love from this chapter??

(Spoilery rambling below this point bc i cant cut it)

Like: -Roman smiling fondly down at a flustered Virgil, hands on the sides of Virgils shoulders in a comforting manner!

-Virgil fidgeting with his new outfit(this one I am drawing!) That does him alot more justice

-the visual of Roman taking Virgils hand and dancing in a sort of whismsical Waltze before getting just a tad extra excited and picking Virgil up by the waist and carefully twirling him with glee, tho not twirling too fast, and Virgil's hands bracing on either of Roman's shoulders and his knees drawn up in surprise, their capes swirling around them!!

- the soft gesture of Roman pulling Virgil into a grounding hold to kiss his forehead, the frusteredness apart in Virgil's face while Roman looks absolutely serene with Virgil in his arms? Virgil holding onto Roman's cloak for comfort they way he does with his own?? Then Virgil relaxing into Romans chest while Roman absently plays with his hair?? Imagining the level of trust between in both parties to feel comfortable in that position together to not feel any need to pull away??(keeping in mind that they arent quite yet fully together in this chapter, they're more in a courting stage of their relationship, close and comfortable and mutually romantically interested, but not yet sure if they're ready to solidify it yet)

-Roman and Virgil leaning forehead to forehead and gazing into eachothers eyes while Roman goes about soothing Virgil's worries?? And the fact that he's practically cradling Virgil's cheek when he admits that Virgil makes them(the sky gods) whole?? Is a whole 'nother set of screaming bc its so painfully Roman to have him admit something so genuinely truthful while cradling his love interest's cheek while also leaning his head to press their foreheads together to unconciously express just how much he truly cherishes and adores Virgil?? And the only thing that breaks their silence is Virgil getting too flustered to stare back and results in hiding against Roman and not away from Roman??

-the window sill pose. The Window Sill Pose. Virgil sitting in Roman's lap, curled against Roman's chest and feeling safe enough with their hands entwined and a warm hand resting protectively over his head that they could nap together?? (In that position no less, but really the only one really napping is Virgil bc Roman? Comfy.)

wait compliments not done. the bodies make nice details bc they like direct TO emily and u got some design techniques with the behead guy. i had to take a lengthy design class. i now see design in everything. u did well.

First of all, you’re an absolute DEAR, and I adore you oh my god. I was going to reply to this last night but it was around 5am and I just ended up falling asleep whoopsies.

2) MAN THE PERSPECTIVE. DON’T EVEN GET ME S T A R T E D. It took me about an hour to set up the damn picture I wanted for the reference because I can draw Dunwall pretty decently without a reference but Karnaca’s got a really, really, really specific look whereas Dunwall is just sort of “London steampunk-ish.” And THEN it took another twenty minutes to take the damn photos because leading lines and balancing the foreground vs background, and negative space blah blah blah I’ve studied art basically my entire life, and a part of me wants to go “Fuck it” and ignore the basic principles of design, but it’s ingrained in me and I can’t. I’m getting off topic. PERSPECTIVE. RIGHT. I had to redraw the entire background around ten times because all of my ref pics were from drastically different positions and I was screaming trying to figure out where the focal points were but I think I kinda sort of got it in the end.

3) I’ve only drawn Emily about four times or so before so I have a decent understanding as to how her face looks (it helps that her moles happen to be in the same places my moles are, which is kind of freaky and creeps me out a bit) so those little details are pretty easy to figure out BUT, because I wanted to  get things perfectly right I used a couple dozen refs from different sources to figure out how I wanted Emily to look. (She looks so different in every single version that I wanted to find a middle ground.) And @ominousdeer ‘s dozens of photos of Em were amazing (I did use a direct ref of ominous’ for the pose because I couldn’t be bothered to sit down for four hours scouring the internet, or fiddling with sketches), as well as my eight billion screenshots of Em during the first cinematic trailer for her (the one from the E3 announcement) ‘cause I feel like that’s how Arkane wanted her to look if she was hyper realistic, and it’s also the only one where she decently looks biracial and goddammit, I want to preserve what few biracial characters there are because I sure as hell never found any characters that were biracial in the media when I was growing up that I saw myself in. 

4) The Mark!!! I didn’t give her a sword because the whole point of the piece is “blood on my hands” etc etc etc, making her crimes a little bit more personal, and in my original version of this, she was also weaponless (but her hands were covered in a LOT more blood), but narrative wise it didn’t make sense as to how she’d kill them 100% bare handed, and then I remembered that the Mark glows when it’s being used so tadaaaaa glowing, smoking Mark

5) Ahhh thank you! There was a lot of careful body placement when I was setting up my ref (which is HARD because you either fucking launch them across the entire map but they ragdoll which is nice for randomization of body placement, or you gently sit them down and they just rest in a sort of loose T-pose which is so unnatural looking and doesn’t at all make it seem like they’re dead.) I had to end up throwing bodies from down the alleyway and off of buildings (the scene is actually the Overseers’ offices where Mindy sends you to go get a body in Mission 2 of D2) so I cleared all the Overseers and threw them off the top of the building hoping it’d work... it wasn’t... fun. (Yes it totally was. Especially since I left the civilians alive so there was a lot of chaos.)

I know you have answered a similar question, but it is paramount for my soul to confirm this! Are Azazel and Lucifer related as brothers? Not only do they resemble each other, plus Lucifer caring quite a bit more about Azazel than he should compared to the other demons, but the official Bahamut fandom wiki has been stating they are brothers for a long time, long before the skit they recently performed at the end of the latest episode. So is the wiki wrong? Just want to straighten my ship out! :o

Keep in mind that wiki is written and edited by fans; no wiki is ‘official’, so to speak. Also, try to double check the source if it’s possible. I looked up Lucifer’s page in snb:g wiki one day and once I read that azazel’s brother part, I just… never went back there.

Also, since I’m answering your question, I might as well make this since it pretty much covers all the bases (I think).

I’ll be separating the source into two: the actual ep, and the extra contents.

1. THE ACTUAL EPISODES

The actual episodes include, well, the actual episodes content; as in, canon things that really happen in the actual eps.

Firstly, they have ZERO canon interaction in the anime.

Nada

No talking, no looking, not even a glance.

In fact, they have never even been in the same frame together.

No, seriously.

But never fear, even if they never interact in canon, they at least know each other! And other ppl know they know each other!

Cerberus keeps reminding Azazel of their ‘order’ and implies that said person who has given their order may not satisfied with the result (ep5)

Bacchus describes Azazel as Lucifer’s right hand man (ep5)

Martinet confirms that Lucifer’s Azazel’s superior (ep6)

Gabriel and Michael talking about Azazel in relation to Lucifer (ep8)

Azazel mentioning Lucifer in canon:

Lucifer’s the only person in the entire series who he calls with honorific: Lucifer-sama (ep6, ep8)

For Azazel who looks down on humans and demons alike, this is a big thing, bcs it means Lucifer’s the only person he respects.

In ep8, when Belzeebub attacks him, he thinks of Lucifer first and foremost: “What are you scheming, betraying Lucifer-sama like this?!”

Not why are betraying *me*, but why are you betraying Lucifer-sama.

It just shows how loyal he is to Lucifer.

Meanwhile, Lucifer… lmao

The only time Azazel gets mentioned to him is in ep8:Lucifer: It’s been a long time, Beelzebub.Beelzebub: Azazel has failed miserably. We can afford no more blundering, Lucifer.Lucifer: A pity. I’ll just send someone else, then.

All the while, Lucifer never looks up from his book.

Looking at that conversation, it looks like Lucifer doesn’t actually care about Azazel.

(But then in the commentary he’s described as worried. So it’s possible he just doesn’t show his worry in front of Beelzebub.)

Aaaand that’s it; that’s all the canon mention of Lucifer/azazel.

2. EXTRA CONTENTS

Extra content includes everything official that are separate from the actual episodes, such as episode previews, character commentary from BD bonus, official site description, official twitter content, as well as the official artbook.

2.1. Episode 10 preview

English translation:Lucifer: I’m Lucifer.Azazel: I’m Azazel.Lucifer and Azazel: We’re the Fallen Angel Brothers.Lucifer: Hold on. You’re my subordinate, aren’t you?Azazel: Your white feathers are beautiful.Lucifer: Yours are beautiful, too.

This is the original Fallen Angel Brothers skit. It can be seen here that Lucifer both 1) reminds Azazel they’re not actually brothers, and 2) emphasizes his and Azazel’s relationship: “you’re my subordinate.”

So no, Lucifer and Azazel are not brothers at all.

(Also, this skit was such an oasis for Azazel’s fans at the time bcs when this aired, it was still unknown whether he lived or died, since the last time he was seen, he was being burnt by Beelzebub and losing consciousness in ep8. Him sounding so fine and energetic in this skit gave fans hope that he might still be alive after all.)

…and that he and Lucifer’s relationship might not be as one-sided as one might assume from watching the eps, bcs, wow, weren’t you two quite friendly??? Doing a skit together! Praising each other’s wings! Lucifer’s gentle voice at the end! Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

2.2. Character commentary

There are two character commentary eps that touched a bit on Lucy/Azazel’s relationship:Ep05, commentary by Favaro and Azazel

Even though Favaro never even mentions or asks anything about Lucifer, Azazel still manages to bring up Lucifer’s name without being prompted. “What, did you feel Lucifer-sama’s male presence?”

(also him asking favaro that means *he* himself actually *notices* Lucifer’s *male* presence.)

Which is just awwww

Azazel (to Favaro): “About your relationship with that hammer head (kaisar). Are you guys brothers? Aren’t you thinking it’s okay to die for his sake?”Azazel: “I’m a bullet (鉄砲玉). If it’s for the sake of my brothers, then I shall die anytime.”

Also, he calls himself a teppoudama (鉄砲玉), which literally means bullet. In yakuza term, this is similar to that of a messenger who goes out and never returns; as in, his role is to be the bullet, be the sacrifice, the pawn, the messenger who executes and never returns.

(pls note that yakuza members often call each brothers even though they’re not related by blood. Brothers here is meant as comrades.)

Similarly, when he asks if Fava/Kai are brothers, he doesn’t mean by blood; he was the one who indirectly caused the death of both of their fathers, after all. He knows very well they’re not related. He’s asking if they’re ‘comrades’ or ‘nakama’.

It seems to him, the term brothers (comrades) refer to ppl who are considered to be important, enough that one would offer own life for them.

Adding that Fallen angel brothers skit he does with Lucifer (where they’re ‘brothers’), and how dutiful and loyal he’s to Lucifer, it is assumed he’s indirectly talking about Lucifer here.

Ep12, commentary by Favaro and Kaisar

For the parts that mention azazel, pls take a look at my translation post here. But to summarize:

According to Cerberus, Lucifer tells her to go save Azazel.

Not only that, but Lucifer himself even comes bcs he’s actually *that* worried about Azazel who goes missing a while.

Favaro describes them as: “And after that, [Azazel] and Lucifer *intimately* go away together.”

I’m just… Favaro, is it really necessary to describe them as *intimate*?

What did Favaro see that made him use such an adjective to describe the way Azazel and Lucifer go away together?

Based on that official description above, it’s made clear that while they both are “fellow fallen angels”, considering Lucifer gives “command” to Azazel, their relationship is either superior/subordinate, or master/servant.

Firstly, please look at both Valentine and White day illustration from snb:Gofficial twitter. Each illustration shows couples (Fava/Mira, Kai/Rita) but then in the Valentine’s part we also have a broken heart looking azazel being alone, only to be paired up with Lucifer and smiling so brightly in White Day.

Conclusion: Lucifer/Azazel is also a couple now.

Or, more accurately, they’re treated as a set somehow.

2.5. Official Artbook

The character profile description is more or less the same with the ones written in official site, just more detailed. This book also includes commentary by character designer Onda and director Satou. Notable comments include:

2.5.1. Lucifer“I remember the director instructing me to ‘please don’t make his under nose long’.” Onda Nobuyuki (chara designer)

(Notes: basically, he’s saying the director’s telling him to make Lucifer beautiful, since the part from under nose to upper lip is believed to decide whether one’s face is beautiful or not. )

They made Lucifer sits and never moves bcs it’s troublesome to animate his enormous six wings.

He’s drawn as a beautiful demon.

His horns have two different colors.

Onda already designed Lucifer’s giant ass sword just in case, and even compared to his whole body proportion and this giant sword, his wings are just so, so enormous.

2.5.2. Azazel“’He has that delinquent feel about him,’ is what the director instructed me, so his facial expression’s range is expanded.” Onda Nobuyuki (chara designer)

Azazel was supposed to die early (around ep8 possibly), except the staff loved him, so they changed things a little and included him in later eps.

The main reason Azazel’s lower horns got cut was bcs they were a pain to animate.

Similarly, his wings are made to be smaller compared to the illustration on his cards to make it easier on the animators.

Just like Lucifer’s horns, Azazel’s lower horns have two color tones.

Also according to the artbook, Azazel’s around 190cm, Cerberus 170cm, and Pazuzu 250cm.

2.5.3. MartinetMartinet’s original design is supposed to resemble Grigori, except then his look would overlap with Lucifer and Azazel, who are supposed to look exceptionally beautiful and are in a league on their own; so they scrap Martinet’s prototype design and make him uglier.

Comment: Looking at the chara design’s comments, it’s pretty evident that design wise, while both Lucifer and Azazel are supposed to be beautiful look wise, expression wise, Lucifer’s ‘just’ beautiful, while Azazel’s delinquent and very expressive.

It’s probably meant to show that unlike Azazel, Lucifer’s much, much, MUCH calmer. Since his expression is very limited, Lucifer’s also probably hard to read in general.

CONCLUSION

The thing about Lucifer/Azazel’s relationship is that, in genesis, if you only watched the actual eps, then yes, their relationship is quite one sided.

Despite Azazel showing loyalty and respect toward him, Lucifer doesn’t seem to care one bit about Azazel in return, even though Azazel’s supposed to be his right hand man.

This is esp when confronted with Azazel’s failure, Lucifer’s only reaction is, “A pity. I’ll just send someone else, then.”

No worry about why azazel hasn’t come back, no nothing. He acts like azazel’s dispensable.

But if you look at the extra content, then…

…it’s pretty much still one sided lmao

No, hear me out here.

The thing about Lucifer/Azazel in the extra content is that, Azazel pretty much thinks his feelings are one sided, when in truth he just never notices.

In ep5 commentary, about the “I’m a bullet” comment; Azazel thinks his life is dispensable, that none would actually stop him from dying or that none would ever worry about him.

But from ep12 commentary, we know Lucifer cares; Lucifer worries; Lucifer actually goes out himself to save him, after he also commands Cerberus to go save Azazel.

I’m starting to think the real reason Cerberus complains so loudly is not bcs she’s told to save Azazel, but more bcs Lucifer makes her involved in his and Azazel’s affair lmao

No, srsly, favaro, I really, really need details on how and why and what part exactly about Azazel and Lucifer going away together that makes you described them as ‘intimate.’

Also, I’ll be repeating this once more: nowhere in the official materials state that Lucifer/azazel are actually brothers related by blood. srsly.
