ruh roh i got big rambly too, ill use a read more to try sparing our followers 🙏

ough yeah, when i was going through gathering the names of everything, it was sooo annoying going from source to source to only find fragments of info, so i had to try to figure out some translations on my own- which im far from fluent in learning japanese, i barely have much of hiragana remembered, so i had to try to find accurate translations for individual words online, referencing multiple sites and crossing info with each other to figure out what would make most sense in the titles, and use what tiny bit i already knew to get everything.

yeah adhd has been kicking my ass for yeaaars. im hoping ill be getting a diagnosis within the next month once i get my testing results, then maybe i can finally get it wrangled and get back to creating stuff more 😓 and i actually only got into yyh a few years ago! i watched it i think in... 2020? or 2021? (i have no sense of time lol) bc my girlfriend recommended it to me- because she knew i would absolutely love hiei and kurama, especially hiei LMAO. she knows me too well. hiei is too much my type- as i said in my tags, hes literally just shadow. except way more of an asshole. and his sister is still alive JGKJDK. i actually have a whole post about how much theyre just The Same Damn Person, and i could probably still add plenty more to it. ill never get over duos that consist of edgy tsundere dorks and their pretty thieving partners that tease them endlessly <3 kurahi is just au shadouge to me LOL

so far the only yyh chars ive drawn have been hiei and kurama, surprise surprise lol. i havent done it too many times so far tho, but i have a million ideas in mind that i will get to EVENTUALLY. i have too many thoughts about them that i HAVE to get out someday.

ooo knitting!! ive never knitted before, but i got into crochet last year (i think?) and i love that. unfortunately my executive dysfunction is keeping me from getting back onto that tho OTL. designing patterns seems like itd be so cool tho :Oo id love to make some of my own patterns some day too!

yeah highkey i wanted to start ripping yyh frames just to admire hiei, get clean shots of kurama to make icons of, and for these yyh memes that i like making LOL. its also just very fun to look at how things were animated in the show and see the frames that are easy to miss. hiei is most defintely the absolute highlight for me though <3 once i get to ripping the frames for his episodes ill be taking so long just bc ill keep stopping to look at him LOL and yes HIS CLAWSSS i love his claws so much. also kurama is has such a natural grace to him, its always fun seeing his various movements!

i dont think tumblr would be very good for the way i want to format the transcript, would be very tedious and lacking if i tried. id probably just link to it on here, and try finding some sites meant for transcripts to put them on. id like to have it at the very least on 2 sites, in case one of the sites go down or some other issue happens. i just want it to be easily findable + readable! and im not familiar with making sites at all, but have been interested trying out neocities or somethin someday... so a potential option i suppose!

i also am losing my mind at him destroying a computer. another similarity he has with shadow LMAO theres a point in shadows game where other characters are trying to hack into a computer, and ask shadow for help, and shadows like hack? im good at hacking things [fucking chops it and destroys it] HCKZJJF but this bastard. i cant believe hiei put bread in his computer to toast it, and said its his so he can do what he wants with it. hes such a dumbass <3 and hiei challenging people on vocabulary... boy do you really think youre in a position to do that LOL kuramas the only one with a braincell in the group fr. tho i almost wonder if hiei was misinterpretting words or was fucking with everyone and confusing the hell out of them just bc he wants to be a bastard and fuck up the recordings LMAO. if its like that then itd look like he does have some sort of affinity for puns, which matches a headcanon of mine, but i moreso saw him as enjoying kuramas puns (but acting like he doesnt) than playing into them himself lol. love kurama piping in to ruin hieis challenge while also showing off his brains <3 SO him. also love that kurama is the main one trying to keep everyone on track. he knows immediately that this is going to be a disaster and is like ALRIGHT lets try to wrap this up as quickly as possible 😅

also yeah hiei and kurama are def BOTH to blame for my yyh hyperfixation, they are exactly the kind of characters and dynamic i fucking adore. they VERY quickly made it into my top favorite characters of all time along with shadow and rouge. im a huge kurama and rouge kinnie and am in love with hiei and shadow so im in DEEP with these bitches lmao

also a side note, idk if u had seen it already but i have a large ongoing yyh playlist linked on my pinned! i add more songs to it randomly whenever i find some that fit the yyh chars. tho tbh Most of the playlist is for kurahi, or individual kurama or hiei songs lmao. idk if fan playlists are ur kinda thing or not, but i always gotta plug it as much as i can bc [toots my horn] i think i have some very choice selections on there 😌 n i hope i can find people that enjoy it too hehe

yu yu hakusho is a huuuge hyperfixation of mine, but my adhd has been making me struggle with focusing on doing the creative stuff i wanna do (like drawing and writing), so ive been instead doing a shit ton of other things revolving around yyh- like collecting the music and making the yu yu jukebox channel, ripping frames to post and organize them on my sideblog @reikai-records , and ive also been working on making a dialogue transcript for the dub (still unsure where to put it online when im done with that tho, atm i just have it on google docs, not too far on it)!

Hello! I absolutely love your blog and all tour meta. I wanted to ask your thoughts on the Ranpo and Oda's parallels in Light Novel 3 (And by extension Light Novel 2). Oda and Ranpo have little similarities or particularly differemces to foil each other. Yet their paths intercedes three times. First when Ranpo figures out Oda wasn't the murderer. Second when Oda tells Fukuzawa Ranpo's location. And third when Oda sets off to Guide. What do you think about this?

So, unluckily I have still to read the novels, but I know the moments you mention. I have also asked @hamliet for more conext and these are her thoughts:

Sooooo Oda is an assassin and is accused of a murder and arrested for it, but he isn't guilty, and Ranpo proves it. It's more complicated tho. Fukuzawa offers to help him and he's not interested (he's like a teenage kid at this point).

When Fukuzawa can't find Ranpo later on and is terrified, Oda is in prison for being an assassin (even if he didn't kill the guy) and Fukuzawa says if he talks he can help him get a lighter sentence. Oda says no to the lighter sentence, but asks for curry instead. He does tell Fukuzawa what he needs to know to find Ranpo and then Oda escapes offscreen.

Honestly, it's one was saved, one wasn't. but i think it highlights the tragedy rather than being good/bad victim.

I will use these thoughts, your description and what I myself know as starting points, but everything should be taken with a grain of salt because I have not read the original material.

First of all, I think that Oda appearing in the story of how Ranpo and Fukuzawa met is important. As a matter of fact that story tells how two lost people were saved through their relationship. Moreover, they created a group who saved other people similar to them and to Oda. However, even if Oda interacted with them and could have ended up joining them if things had gone even slightly differently, he did not and met a tragic end.

When it comes to this, it is interesting that all three times they met, they end up somehow helping each other/trying to help each other.

1) Ranpo proves Oda’s innocence (and so in a way Ranpo helps Oda).

2) Oda tells Fukuzawa where Ranpo is (and so in a way Oda helps Ranpo).

3) Ranpo warns Oda about the fact he will die if he does what he is about to do (Ranpo tries to help Oda, but it does not work).

I think this shows pretty clearly that a relationship between Ranpo/ Fukuzawa and Oda could have been enriching and helpful for both parties. This is made even more meaningful by the fact that Fukuzawa and Oda can be easily read as foils.

As I have said in this meta:

Among  other things, it seems that parts of Fukuzawa’s past are starting to   come back at him this arc. We will see where it goes, but for now it is just interesting that the tale of an assassin who found happiness and a  new chance thanks to both Natsume-sensei and the adoption of a bunch of  kids is very similar to the story of another character:

Fukuzawa’s story is basically the happy version of Oda’s. Both assassins were mentored by Natsume and made progress in their lives through adopting kids. However, Oda could not find a place outside the mafia where to live and this led to his death, while Fukuzawa created his own home by founding the agency.

This is why, I think, Oda’s last meeting with Ranpo is so interesting. Their meeting is basically Oda’s last chance to desist and to keep on living despite the pain. He is told directly he will die, but he still chooses to go on. In short, Ranpo aka a character who the series frames very positively and as an embodyment of hope, fails to save Odasaku, just like Fukuzawa did when the two met.

I think that all of this sheds light on one of Odasaku’s most contradictive traits. He is the one who inspires Dazai, famous for his suicidal tendencies, to live. He even conveys to Dazai the idea that “people live to save themselves”. However, despite what Oda represents in Dazai’s life. He himself is a character who fails to do so. He tries to save himself, but in the end gives up.

This is why Odasaku’s story is tragic. It is because we, as readers, can clearly see that it did not have to end the way it did. If he had joined Fukuzawa and Ranpo when he met them, he could have become a writer. If he had followed Ranpo’s advice, he would have survived.

In short, Oda’s death is partially rooted in the environment around him. As a matter of fact he grew up without anything and, even when he tried to change his life, he could not find a different home than the mafia. However, his tragic end is also partially rooted in Oda’s own flaw. About this, it is interesting that Oda’s objective is to become a writer. This is because the series explores the idea of struggling to live (as stray dogs) and so to give meaning to one’s own life (to write one’s own story). This is why the characters are called after famous authors. It is because they, just like their real alter-egos have the potential to write their own destiny. However, Oda gave up this chance and the possibility to change his story. In the end, he can’t escape the criminal life he had lived for the majority of his existence.

Let’s highlight that this fatalistic trait of Oda’s personality is ironically embodied by his ability. As a matter of fact Oda’s ability Flawless lets him see the future and change his actions, so to avoid bad outcomes. However, in the end, even if Oda knows he is going to meet a bad outcome he does nothing to change it. The reason why he does so may lie in why his ability is called Flawless. Oda has explained that he thought he had the right to write about humans only if he stopped being a killer. In a sense, he saw “living/writing” as something he had to gain a right to. Even if this train of thoughts led him to become a better person, it also somehow damaged him because all in all he needs no right to become a writer. He can write about human lives because he himself is a human. That said, Odasaku refused his way of thinking and searched for a flawless outcome where he would have become a writer after having become his flawless self.

In short, when it comes to a comparison with Ranpo, I don’t think there is much apart them both being two kids Fukuzawa tried to help. However, I will try to underline some interesting traits through which they can be compared.

Firstly, their “abilities” have something to do with “seeing”. On one hand, as stated above, Oda can see the future. On the other hand, Ranpo’s fake ability is about seeing the truth of a mystery. At the same time, they also have traits which contradict their abilities. As explained above, Oda refuses to change his future in the end, while Ranpo is able to see the truth in everything, but he lies to himself.

Secondly, both Odasaku and Ranpo’s positions in their respective organizations is peculiar. Ranpo is the heart of the agency and, in a sense, he can be said to be the strongest member since he is the best detective. However, he also lacks a real ability. Odasaky is instead disreguared as a low ranked mafia member because he refuses to kill. However, when push comes to shove he is one of the strongest fighters of the organization.

The way the two organizations treat Odasaku and Ranpo is also opposite. The ADA values Ranpo and his colleagues cherishes him and even spoils him. They accept Ranpo’s quirk and do not undervalue him for them. The mafia, instead, sees Odasaku as disposable because of his vow not to kill. His strange behaviour makes so that he is isolated and eventually leads to his death.

In conclusion, Odasaku and Ranpo are two kids who perceive the world in a peculiar way. They are also full of contradictions themselves. However, Ranpo found someone who gave him a home where his oddities are accepted and where he can overcome his contradictions. Odasaku could not find a homw where to work through his flaws. He attempted to do it on his own, but failed also because his environment manipulated him to fail.

So, I think that Odasaku appears in Ranpo and Fukuzawa’s story to show how similar to them he was. He would have found himself at home in the agency and this confirms that Dazai, who was inspired by him, is definately in the right place. There he can succeed where Odasaku failed aka saving himself.

So I finished Persona 5 Royal

And once again I was a crying mess when the ending credits rolled.

Now, I’d like to share my thoughts about this game but I also respect the fact that not everyone had the chance to finish it yet so anything that is a spoiler will be talked about under the cut.

Anyways, let’s begin.

From the very beginning... I love the new title screen, the fact that you can see each member just hanging out in the streets of Tokyo is so cute and I love it. It’s so easy to get a platinum trophy for Persona 5 Royal which at first I thought was somewhat disappointing as it doesn’t require you to play through it again but then I found out there’s a bunch of challenges in the Thieves Den so I was really glad I had a reason to play it again.

Speaking of the Thieves Den, it’s really nice to see your team members just chat about the decorations you put in there, like for example Yusuke and Ann casually chatting in front of a Reaper statue like it’s no big deal. On a small sidenote, my mum really likes the fact that you can play Tycoon in the Thieves Den and I’m not gonna lie she spent hours playing with them which means I now have thousands of tokens but nothing to spend them on :’)

Much of P5R is very similar to the vanilla P5 except of course the fact that there’s 2 new characters being introduced to the story. You still get sent to Tokyo for ‘assaulting’ the drunk man however, the first change that you really notice is Sojiro’s conversation with you when he is taking you home on the Sunday you visit the school. Of course, by this point you know that there have been many psychotic breakdowns and a lot of accidents but what Sojiro tells you is... Interesting to say the least. I didn’t think of it much at first but then again I went into Royal completely spoiler free (except of course with the knowledge of how Persona 5 plays out) but eventually you find out that what he said was actually really important.

Another thing I really loved that they put in Royal is the fact that they managed to make the battle system even better. I always thought it was pretty amazing but they somehow managed to make it even better. First off, you can Baton Pass right off the bat. No need to establish a social link with the party members or anything, which honestly makes everything so much easier, especially in the early game. They also decided, you know what this nasty crime boy needs? Unlimited bullets... Well sorta. Remember how in Persona 5 you only had a limited amount of bullets per infiltration? Well, now they replenish every battle which of course means I did the only rational thing:

You also get the grappling hook in Royal and honestly? Just watching Joker do flips all over the place is really aesthetically pleasing. I love that they reworked the Palaces so that the grappling hook plays a big part in getting around and as I said, it’s just so fun to see Joker zooming through the air.

They added new Shadows/Personas to Royal which I think is fantastic as it makes returning players not bored of the battles but they also changed some weaknesses/removed weaknesses for some shadows which means you gotta strategise a little bit more. They also changed up the Palace Ruler Bosses but I found them... A lot more easier than the original? I don’t know if it’s due to the fact that I love to grind a lot before finishing a Palace or if I just had the perfect Personas for the occasion but yeah... That’s not to say the changes are bad! I still really liked them but it was just... Really easy for me lol. 

Another major change is the fact that Morgana decided that you may be a tired boi after going to the Metaverse but you still have enough energy to do some things in the cafe. That makes it like a ton easier to max out your social stats which means you can max out your confidants a lot faster, I managed to max out everyone and still had days where I literally had nothing to do which just shows how much time you actually save now.

Along with the fact that they fixed some translation errors, they also improved the sprites and added a lot more voice lines which was really nice in my opinion, it was a lot better when a character was expressing a certain emotion and their sprite actually matched it instead of just them facing one way and occasionally changing the facial expression.

I’ll mention this briefly seeing as this is sort of spoilery but I really loved the new confidants. The fact that you can actually hang out with Akechi and get to know him instead of being forced to level him up automatically was so good. The scenes where you would automatically rank up are still there but they kinda act as a filler of sorts now which in all honesty I didn’t mind. 

Ummm... That’s about all I can think of that doesn’t contain spoilers so... The section below will have spoilers so please only read this when you finish the game!

I’m going to talk about Akechi’s Confidant for a bit because I just really loved it okay? You learn so much about him, even things that seem trivial like the fact that he’s left handed become... Well rather important near the end. The more time you spend with him, the more you see how much Akira actually means to him. When you defeat him in his Rank 8 event, I actually loved it when he said he hated Akira. That was pure Akechi right there, no lies, no fake smiles just pure, honest truth. Also, I love how he decided to be extra and dramatic by throwing his glove as a challenge. It’s also really significant, at least to me, mainly because you never see him without gloves, in a way, this sort of showed that he fully exposed his true self to Akira. Their exchange in Shido’s Palace when you remind him that you still have his glove... That was really sad. I really wish there was some way you could help him, but alas, you can’t always have happy endings.

I’m not gonna lie, I was really confused when I got to 12/24 and we still went to Mementos. You discover a Palace and explore it for a bit but then it’s kind of... Forgotten? Like Morgana is genuinely like: Lmao this doesn’t concern us atm so you know, killed God with the power of friendship, was ready to stop being a Phantom Thief and surrender myself to the police but then... Mr. Sketchy himself just appears out of nowhere and decides that he’ll take Akira’s place for him

When I first saw him I was like: Omg? How is this even possible? Can I hug him? But then weird things started happening in the story

Reality becomes distorted after New Years and you see that right away when your cat, is no longer a cat. But that’s not all, Futaba’s mother is alive and well as well as Haru’s father and supposedly they were never dead in the first place. I was really confused but then guess who turns up to clear some things up... Mr. Pankechi.

This post is already long as hecc so I won’t go into details but I really like the new Palace. It’s so different to the other Palaces and for once the Palace Ruler is not some evil adult... He’s actually quite the opposite.

I’m going to quickly talk about Kasumi for a second now, or rather Sumire. Honestly when you learn the truth, I was really shocked. Remember when I said what Sojiro tells you becomes important near the end? Yeah well it’s like the game was telling you from the start that she’s not really who she says she is. Just like Akechi, I was fully convinced that the New Palace was hers but I was kind of relieved to find out that wasn’t the case. As a party member, I really like her, she’s really cute and her Persona abilities are helpful in the new Palace. As a confidant... Again, she’s just so cute. When you help her pick out the glasses for her dad... Bruh I just wanted to give her headpats all day. Once you unlock the rest of her confidant, it’s really nice to see her grow and accept the fact that she doesn’t have to be Kasumi appreciated, and once she accepts that she’s Sumire but she’ll still do everything to make Kasumi’s dream come true it was honestly so satisfying. 

I think the thing I loved the most though is the fact that Akechi becomes your navigator for a little while and honestly? I wish I had the option to keep him as the navigator. His lines are so funny because they’re helpful but at the same time they’re so passive aggressive! ALSO his Showtime with Joker is by far my favourite Showtime. I love how he’s able to just be himself and literally rip enemies apart and Joker’s just there like: Yeah I’ll play along why not. Whenever they finish and Akechi is just there like: “Don’t waste my time.” ... Big mood, me when I’m driving around Mementos trying to find the stamps.

One more thing I gotta talk about... The ending. I love it so much. I think it’s a lot better than the original Persona 5 ending and here’s why. First of all, the fact that you see the Thieves still being themselves is just so sweet I love these funky kids, that fact that Maruki gives you a lift to the station and he accepts that this is the world that you have to live in? Amazing, thank you Atlus. The fact that Morgana is just snoozing in your bag? Beautiful, let me pet my cat plz. But most importantly... The edgy pancake loving detective LIVES, granted Akira doesn’t actually see him but I DID. I burst into tears when I saw him walk by, I’m so glad he got to live in a reality where he isn’t anyone’s puppet anymore. He can finally fix the mistakes he did, don’t get me wrong, Akechi is still a bad person, I mean he literally killed people but he still deserved a second chance, and seeing him alive means that he finally has a chance to do that... Bruh I was crying so much.

Anyway, I could talk about this game for hours but here are just some of my thoughts that I wanted to share, I’m sure I’ll have a lot more to say later on but for now... Have this mess I call a post!

A story idea:

K I don’t have the time to actually write this, considering that I already have five WIPs. So if anyone has time and wants to write this, feel free.

Okay so it’s a historical fact that George Washington’s family was very racist, greedy, egotistical, exploitative, power-hungry, wealthy, powerful, etc. They owned slaves and we’re all-round scum. George himself was also all this. This is a historical fact. Watch RenegadeCut’s video about the Cult if Tradition if you’re want more information.

Okay so now the fiction comes in:

So the story starts when George’s mom is pregnant with him. His father has invested in some business ventures that are too risky for his likings - I don’t know enough about history to know why this would be at the time - and he stands to lose some of his obscene fortune. He can’t stand this and eventually his desire for money and also the power and status that come with money win out over his desire not to do anything too weird.

He follows a young poor woman to where she lives. There’s rumours of her being a witch because she lives out in the forest by herself without a man. But she’s also the best embroider there is and people really like her work so they keep her around. But anyways, Augustine (George’s dad) I’d hoping that she is a witch. Not in order to get the town to burn her but in order to blackmail her into doing magic for him. He has like a special copy of the bible given to him by a really sketchy priest with him that can help him detect witchcraft. He has it hidden.

The woman knows that he is following her, though he tries to be very secretive about it, and she confronts him immediately. He says that he is merely wanting to confirm that she isn’t doing some horrible witchy stuff or whatever and that he is merely trying to keep the town safe. She tries to get him to stop following her but he is really insistent. She recognizes that the power imbalance between them means she can’t do anything about him following her so she lets him.

It turns out that she lives in a small cottage that she found in the woods. Though he doesn’t know this yet, she is in fact a witch and also he helps slaves to escape. She sends out a magical message to the slaves hiding in her home that danger is coming and they should probably hide, so they hide in her cellar. Meanwhile Augustine, using the special bible, detects that she’s just used magic though he doesn’t know what magic she used.

So he calls her out in her witchcraft, shows her the proof, and she’s terrified. But he assures her that he will not tell anyone as long as she does what he says. She promises him that she will. And he commands her to see into the future to learn what is in store for his plantation.

She does so, and sees that there we’ll be great suffering for the many people who work on it, for generations upon generations to come. But she can’t really say that because even though she’s technically obeying him he’ll still get her killed if she says that. Instead she tells him that his profits will continue to improve and his bloodline will prosper. Not lies. But she really wants to stick it to him. She tells him that the first child born in his house February of this year will become a great leader and a hero whose honourable deeds would have effects for centuries to come. Augustine knows that his child is due in February and takes this as glorious news. But she knows that the first child born in the house in February will not be George. It will be a little black girl named Liberty (is that too in the nose?). She knows that Augustine never pays attention to the lives of his slaves and does not see them as people, so he won’t even notice that his maid is also pregnant. And of course he won’t pay any attention to a black girl.

So then we go to February. Towards the beginning of the month Liberty’s mother goes into labour and there is no-one around so she can’t get help and she gives birth on the cellar floor. It is a deeply traumatizing experience and terrifying and painful experience for her because she had no access to support or comfort or medical care or anything. Which obviously sucks, she deserves better, but stupid systems create injustice. But despite the traumatic birth, the girl is healthy and beautiful and she loves her immediately. It’s the middle of night by the time the child is born and there is incredible starlight, mirroring what happened when Jesus was was born. She gathers her strength and walks to her hut, to where her husband is, and they decide together to name the child Liberty.

So then we get to see George’s mother giving birth with a fictitious and a midwife and the best painkillers they had at the time, in her hugs and soft bed.

And we see both the children growing up. We see George being snobbish and racist and treating his slaves badly.

And we see Liberty being humble and kind and friendly to her fellow slaves. We see her suffering and doing child labour. But we also see her listening to the problems of her friends and family in the slave quarters, and offering them support and encouragement. We see her telling stories if hope and bravery and confidence go the younger kids, and even the older kids. She becomes a great storyteller, weaving tales of defying unbeatable odds, rising up against oppressors, showing silent, secret defiance, of showing compassion and togetherness and unity. And we see her living her ideals as much as we can. We see her stealing bits of extra food to share with her people when she could. We see her finding funny ways to secretly mock the masters. We see her lying cleverly to protect people from punishment. She is incredibly proud if her people. How they make it through the depths if hell by finding light in each other. How they try so hard to survive. Everything about them.

As George grows, he increased in his spoiled ness and his pride but also becomes charismatic and manipulative.

As Liberty grows, she only grows more protective and brave. She lives her people more than anything, and has inspired, helped, empowered, and even saved so many people. When she is fifteen she gets sold to another plantation. And that’s heartbreaking. She finds herself loving her new family of fellow slaves and supporting and sticking up for them just as much. She even draws attention to herself purposefully when the younger slaves mess up, so that the overseers’ wrath can be directed at her instead and they can be safe. People admire her for her selflessness and spirit. She admires then did their kindness, longing, community, wisdom, hope, the list goes on. They find hope in each other.

Liberty gets involved with the (well there wasn’t an Underground Railroad yet, but the equivalent) and she slaves run away to freedom. She never goes herself, knowing that if she stays on the plantation she can help many slaves become free. And she is hailed as a hero.

Eventually she is found out by the whites and hanged for all this. But before she dies she proclaims that they won’t be able to keep her people in inequality forever and that one day there will be justice. Then she dies. A whole bunch of black people see how she was defiant until the end. George Washington is in the crowd. He feels true fear for the first time in his life. For just a second.

And the truth is that with her humility, her selflessness, her pride and her ability to find power within an abjectly powerless situation, she positively impacted so many more lives than the president with his fame and his power and his glory ever did. She sowed the seeds of love, of hope, of true freedom, rather than the seeds of blind patriotism and capitalism and false freedom.

Sure, the president is the man that the history books remember, but his actions were based on selfishness, ego, and greed. He hijacked a revolution that should’ve been for and led by poor people and slaves. And he built the foundations of an empire that ended up being worse than the British one.  

It was the strength and the togetherness and the hope and the love and the ability to find bits of power in the most hopeless of situations, that all the slaves had, it was what built the foundations of true freedom in America. Every single slave was a necesssty key into opening true freedom. And Liberty played her part beautifully, inspiring hundreds of people to believe in their people, to fight for their people. Those people in torn found their own power and inspired other people, and so on and so forth.

And eventually the world that Liberty believed in triumphed over the world that George believed in.
