Honestly, I'm really grateful that my brain isn't wired to jump from hyperfixation to hyperfixation. It has its own unique drawbacks, sure, but I've always found it really comforting that I know what to expect from myself.

#falling out of love with my own projects is something I find really oddly horrifying #but the only time I really ever stop loving something is if the thing itself gives me a reason not to like it #the only reason I ever really stopped doing VOH fanart is because the fandom for it dried up completely and my my job at the time demanded #all of my art attention #i've still drawn the characters a few times since then tho #I still love them with all of my heart lol #same with slayers and sailor moon #and ofc my love for dmc revs back up into action every time a new game comes out #(looking at the reboot) not you #been hyperfixated on resident evil since 1996 lol #killer instinct since 1994 #god now that's a thing why have I never done modern killer instinct fanart? #frillishtxt #aAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....#I procrastinated on starting chapter 10 for like 2 days or something and then I follow a midnight impulse and here we are!#This whole week I've been like no thoughts only FE Engage adgdg but of course I wouldn't know where to start (and who to yell to either)#but man Alear (M) and Alcryst's voices just sell the characters to me even more than already long before #Alear I had an affinity to from the start because I have a male protagonist affnity (and he's so very gender)#Then Alfred and Alcryst I also had on my radar the whole time and meeting them just proved it right as it tends to do I love them....#Alfred's voice is also perfect but his voice lines makes me happy laugh meanwhile Alcryst ... ooof my feels #(Shoutout also to Clanne who is precious I love him sm he is also my favourite but in a different line)#It's 2 am it's about time that I stop yelling random nonsense and catch some Zzs so I have the power to proceed tomorrow ADFGDDFFGFFGH #God ... this game really WAS just what I needed huh and it's both unfortunate and Just Right that I had no thoughts only SwSh last year #My three faves all having names starting with “Al” is just funny to me and I keep fretting that my brain/hand coordination does an oopsie #(all the cast are wonderful and charming and picking “secondary faves” is always tough for me but yeah)

#guess who fucking fried 3 very fucking expensive machines today. me. i did #bc a fucking cabled decided to burn out and there was only one little symptom so i switched out the sensor head and inadvertently fried #another instrument. then when i was wait. hang on wtf happened here? and i was trouble shooting. i fried another one. so im down to one #machine. fucking holy christ. one mother fucking cable. a problem i cant fucking control and then i just fucking spred the problem #god dammit. which means i either have to do 20 additional days or we cut the number of reps to 7 or 8 #and because of this. ive Disrupted the plans of 4 different labs bc it takes at least 3 months for them to do calibration #ugh. i was so angry. whatever. its fine. these things happen in labs and u kinda just have to deal with it. i dont really feel bad on a #personal level bc ive been working with these things for like 4 years and if i mishandled the problem something was pretty fucked up #bc ive fixed a lot of fucking problems on those machines. bleh. and as im like simmering with rage my family is texting eachother like #yayyy vacation soon ☺️#ugh. its just so frustrating bc i onlu had like 7 days left and i could have got thru all 10 reps. its gonna b maddening on one machine #ans ill have to do more when i fucking get back from vacation when i want it fucking done now but whatever ive bought #my fucking plane tickets and i leave in less than 2 weeks. plus ill get to spend at least one day at home #god im gonna be such a fucking bummer tho. im gonna get of the plane and my fam will b like how r u? and im gonna b like not fucking great #i am barely a functional person and im sure ill b so stressed abt thr fact i have to come back here that ill b on edge the whole time bc #thsts what happened over winter break. whatever. next weekend ill b fucking outta here for like 11 days #and just a few more months until i can leave for good. never walk into thst fucking building again. not that i have anything ready for thst #move. bc again. im barely a functional person #god. now i have to fucking ask for thr stupid bottom of the chamber for this last machine. i swear to christ if i have to fucking drive #down to [redacted] i fucking dont even kno #unrelated

the urge to explain to everyone that i'm autistic so i do things they may find weird vs. the urge to never tell anyone ever because they're going to accuse me of lying 🫠

#vent tw #i had to tell my mom + aunt + aunt's fam when i first got my diagnosis and that was! hm!#i told some friends that i was going through with the assessment but never updated them on the results #i only really told my closest internet friends 🫠🫠🫠#it doesn't feel real like it's been a month and it doesn't Feel Real #tbf it took me like. a year to come to terms with my ADHD diagnosis too #this imposter syndrome thing is rough i'm always like 'meh i can handle it its fine i dont want to inconvenience people'#and then later 'god i should have inconvenienced them i'm so fuckijg stupid'#one of the reasons i want to leave my major too is the complete lack of sympathy for disabled people too #like sure there's SOME. like there's acknowledgement that behaviours can be difficult to change for a lot of people #but trying to bring a disabled perspective in is. it's not easy at all #literally in my DISABILITY STUDIES course trying to talk about it and being shut down and redirected #putting semi-pointed arguments in my midterm assignment about how autistic people sometimes struggle with unclear instructions #(semi-pointed because our instructor kept changing what she was saying so i was confused and wrote a 10 page rant about autism for it)#(ended up getting smthg like 60% because i 'didnt connect it back to what we were learning')#(i got an A overall somehow so there's no point in retaking it but i'm still :/ over that course)#(i was so excited for it too)#i think perhaps i'll do my health program assignment on autism #we're supposed to find a community and do a community evaluation #which is difficult honestly. my neighbourhood is heavily residential #(even though my uni is right up the road)#and there's something to be said about the overall lack of support for autistic adults #ooo. oooo i could do that

everything is expensive forever BUT i did have two significant purchases knocked off my list of wants bc my dad has both a spare tent and a spare powered drill driver waiting at home for me

#shoutout to my late grandfather who hoarded duplicates of everything ever and kept it all in mint condition #although the tent wasnt from him. i believe the tent was a 10 year anniversary award for my dad from two jobs ago #regardless it is in mint condition because my parents are not tent campers; we are tow-behind pop-up campers #i however have no money and no tow vehicle so if i am going to camp it shall be in a tent!#im looking at state park sites for fall weekends bc i miss camping very much #and you can camp for two nights and feel like you've really been away from work without having to use a vacation day #a whole weekend where all i do is read and paint and walk around?? and i dont have responsibilities?? god yes

i received an olive branch from someone who really severely broke my heart today and I’m conflicted

when i saw 'cabin in the woods in middle of nowhere new hampshire' bad i mean it. i have a 65 year old father from northeastern mass that's the only type of vacation i ever go on (if you're wondering what it's like it's like a modern day yellow wallpaper btw) . i know my cabins in middle of nowhere new hampshire. i've been to multiple with better wifi than i currently have. that says a lot btw.

#one of my fave cabin trips was one where i was on my period and don't do tampons so i couldn't swim and there was absolutely nothing to do #there and the only place phones worked at all was in this one building which was a common area (i don't use technology without a wall #directly behind me. this post brought to you by the children of helicopter parents gang) and closed for most of the day. so all i had to do #was draw. listen to the singular episode of tma i had downloaded in preparation for the trip (yeah that's what era it was)#(it was the bonus episode live show recording bc that's what had just come out). pace back and forth from my room to the empty room across #the hall. eat the bags of cherries and saltwater taffy we'd gotten at the nearest grocery store after we checked in. and peel the possibly #lead paint off the walls (in the room across from mine bc if it were mine i might get in trouble or something idk).#i genuinely blame this trip for making my maladaptive daydreaming 50x worse than it already was. also none of the doors locked. the cabin's #main door wasn't even a door it was just an open doorframe. our cabin wasn't even just us either. or that much of a cabin. it was more of a #long building with a doorway to the outside in the middle w like 10 tiny rooms on either side of it. bc of covid they didn't pack it in lik #they normally would and instead just put me and my dad on the far end of one side and then some other family on the other and thank god the #did bc i would've lost my mind otherwise. the doors that didn't lock included the bathroom. which there were two of in the entire building #btw. my dad slept with his door open the entire time we were there. the windows were just screens with no glass. or curtains.#and my dad spent the entire time having ditched me to go swimming. most of the times i saw him were accompanied by 'are you sure you don't #wear tampons' 'we could go borrow a kayak instead' (my dad has a long history of flipping kayaks) or 'you should totally use the outdoor #shower' (he has an unexplainable obsession with outdoor showers and he really wants me to use them. for some reason). the only times i left #the two rooms i was pacing across were mealtimes where i developed a tea addiction which still plagues me to this day. attending the talks #he'd been given the free vacation in exchange for giving. he didn't just decide to go on vacation (however secluded) in the middle of covid #on his own. yes my attendance at the talks was mandatory no i don't remember what they were about it's been 4 years and i wasn't paying #attention. and the one hike around the lake i got to go on. 0/10 i loved it but wouldn't recommend it to anyone. somehow my dad has had the #audacity to suggest going back up there to the same campsite several times and is surprised that i refuse to ever do that again.#that said there was absolutely a net positive and that's that i think i owe things falling apart between me and my groomer to that trip #bc it was the longest period of time i had spent not talking to them since meeting them and i was for the most part not thinking of them an #was focusing in where our interests differed. and genuinely i think it was a turning point for talking to them feeling like a chore and #not basing my schedule entirely around theirs so like . maybe i have rose colored glasses towards this trip nowadays #romeo.txt

Going to the Hero Awards with Katsuki for the first time:

You and Mina had been doing prep ALL DAY. The hair, the makeup, final dress fittings, you name it. It was kinda nice, like a self pampering that was being funded by the best boyfriend of all time. Katsuki had given you his card and told the both of you to go nuts. He had to work the day of so he’d be getting home just in time to get ready and leave.

Mina had helped you pick out the cutest dress you’d even seen and it was orange to match Katsuki’s hero theme. Your other accessories being black with slight hints of green here and there.

You’re not gonna lie, you were VERY nervous. This was a big award for him. He’d ended up being number six at the last one and this was the year he breaks into the top 5.

Kats has been acting like it’s not a big deal but you’ve been able to feel how anxious he’s really been. So tonight you were gonna focus on holding yourself together and being there for him in whatever way he needed.

You were touching up your makeup just a little when you heard the front door open. He’s running behind.

“Fuck, I know I’m late. I gotta hop in the shower and FUCK! I never picked up my clothes from the-“, he was pacing around the room like a madman.

“Hey, hey.” And you placed your hands on his shoulders to steady him for a minute. “I have your clothes, they’re hanging up in the closet above your shoes. I have your hair stuff laid out on the counter and you might wanna get a quick shave in too.” You say as you run your hands along his stubble.

And he takes a deep breath. And then another.

“Thanks, I got sidetracked at work and time got away from me.”

“ ‘s fine. You’ve got time. Go ahead and hop in the shower and let me know if your need anything, yeah?”

He leans down a places a soft kiss to your forehead and then heads for the bathroom.

Yeah, this was gonna be a long night.

When Katsuki comes out of the bathroom he’s gotta towel wrapped around his waist and he’s looking a lot more himself.

You were sitting down putting on your shoes, but you stop and look up because you noticed he’s not moving anymore.

“What’s wrong?” You ask him.

“You look…… incredible” and the way you start blushing is insane. You cant even make eye contact with him. His compliments are usually never that straightforward. It shocked you a bit.

“Thanks” you whisper softly. And then outta the corner of your eye you see him striding toward you.

“Kats-“ but your lips are covered by his and you just know he’s gonna be covered in your lipstick.

When he pulls back he has a full grin on his face.

“Damn, I feel a lot better now. Gonna have the hottest woman on my arm and I’m gonna finally be in the top 5. Was worried about nothin.”

The smile that shines in your eyes is worth a million dollars.

“You’re not gonna have any of that if you don’t finish getting dressed so we can leave.” And you start pushing him away. “Go. Hurry up”

“Yeah yeah, ‘m goin” he mumbles as he walks away.

“And wipe the lipstick off your face” you shout behind him.

You guys manage to make it just before the doors close for the event and you’re sat at a table with Eijirou and Mina.

They go through the whole spiel of course before they start announcing the Hero’s in their order.

This year Pinky was number 18 which was 6 whole spots higher than last year and Red Riot broke into the top 10 sitting at number 8. You cheered so loud for your friends, but you didn’t fail to notice that Kats hand had slipped into yours and was holding on pretty tight.

He kept a straight face but he was beyond wrecked on the inside. You look over at him and give the the most encouraging smile you can muster.

The numbers continued to be listed off they’d finally gotten into the top 5. He hadn’t heard his name at 5 or 4.

“Coming in as the number 3 Hero in Japan, Great Explosion Murder God: Dynamight. “

He’d broken into the top 3!! You looked over at him and his face was as stoic as ever. Ever the cool man on the outside. This man leaned over, placed a quick kiss to your lips and then walked onto the stage to accept his prize.

“Ugh, yea I worked hard for this. It’s well deserved. Thanks to my agency and the best girl a guy could ask for…. Next year I’ll be number 1.” And then He just walks off.

Everyone else had given these heartfelt speeches but his was of course sweet simple and to the point.

Katsuki has grown up, doesn’t mean he’s changed all that much.

Number 1 ends up being Izuku for the second year in a row. When he walks past Katsuki they hug and congratulate each other. You were happy to see how far their relationship had come.

After the awards are given out, they had back to their seats and you guys have dinner. After, Everyone goes around congratulating and thanking. Most of them kissing ass really, but you digress. You’re in the middle of talking to some agent you really have no interest in talking to when you feel a warm arm wrap around your waist.

“I’m taking her now.”, you hear him say as he starts dragging you off.

“Hey, that was really rude.”

“Too damn bad. I’m number 3 hero, I do what I want” he says and you can hear the smirk on his face.

“Where are you taking me, Mr. Bigshot” ?

“Home. We came, we saw, we conquered. Now I get to have my real prize all to myself.

“And what would that be?” You ask as coyly as you can muster.

“Obviously you dummy. Wanna see how good that dress looks bunched around your waist” he whispers against your ear.

That has you walking with a pep in your step to get out to your car and home.

This had turned out to be a lot better than you’d expected it to.
