You don’t need a good father to be a good person. My relationship with my father has been almost nonexistent for the past couple of years and the only time I saw him was when he picked my brother up for the weekend. It’s gotten a little better but there’s still a long way to go. I still don’t know how I feel about him so Father’s Day was very weird on my part with lots of conflicting feelings. No one in my family understands or gets it so what they thought would help didn’t. Some of you may know what I’m talking about and it sucks, but it is what it is. I am just trying to be the best person I can be regardless of my relationship with him. Y’all are so strong and I’m proud of y’all for pushing through all the crap even when it seems endless.
