It is very disappointing to be connected to Australians on this website only to quickly discover they are terfs.

#this is about#Frankenstein#again#classic lit#sorry but it's nearly 5:30 am and im biting and screaming about the whole Prometheus business#and how much it FITS BUT ALSO DOESN'T#Victor WISHES he had a modecum of Prometheus's swag#but in a non joking way -> It makes sense he uses Prometheus as a descritor for what he's doing. creating a man and all#and dramatic irony dictates that it also fits in the sense that he ends up tortured#but Victor lacks the one thing that made Prometheus's fate tragic#that being the love for his creation(s) . Prometheus made humans and cared for them so much that he went against the god of gods#to give them fire when he saw them struggle in the cold#and wound up paying a heavy price for that good deed#Victor made a man and cast him out INTO the cold the moment he realised the creation wasn't the ideal thing he hoped it would be#Adam is fitting for the creature because Victor by all accounts acts more like god than Prometheus#but point is his fate is as hand made as his creature. a result of choices based on bad assumptions he refuses to ever acknowledge as wrong#compared to prometheus his losses are kind of. well you know the tripping over own bike with a stick meme#anyway disclaimer pls don't take this that seriously as a text analysis- again this is just my 5 am brain going crazy

Im sorry I love the Zoro Mihawk Perona dynamic but the fandom trend of turning it into “Mihawk adopts Zoro and Perona as children and raises them” makes me want to die
#the fact that it pervades so many au fic is another reason I rarely read one piece aus#first of all I’m not a fan of changing characters’ backstories in such a drastic way#Zoro in canon and Zoro raised as mihawks child would be two very different characters#second of all it’s indicitive of a very odd trend I’ve noticed where fandom takes character with non traditional family dynamics and#creates a narrative where they have what more or less boils down to a nuclear family dynamic#like Zoro already has a family#the straw hats#but bc zoro is one of the only straw hats that you can’t point to a specific character and say ‘that’s his father figure’ ‘thats his sister’#people feel the need to give him a Proper Family with a Dad™️ and a sister™️#which is particularly odd in the Found Family Anime™️#it’s giving superfamily#idk it wouldn’t be bad if it was just a fun thing now and again but god it’s like every single zoro-centric au I see#rambles#sorry I had to rant about this because I just closed out of a fic because of this and I’m just -Keanu smoking meme-#it’s very hard when you dislike a very pervasive fandom trope#if this ends up in the tag and you’re mad about it I’m sorry I don’t want to sensor every word tumblr might pick but I’m not tagging#it myself so please don’t yell at me blame tumblr

This is a really interesting panel with the developers at Summerfall studios, giving some cool insight into how the process of making the game worked! it helped me put some words to the thing I maybe loved the most about Stray Gods -- the way that every single character in it feels very deeply loved, in all their messiness and struggles and stuckness, all the way from the writing to the art to the music. They're very different but all feel like they were somebody's favourite character, and it's nice to hear that that seems to be because it's basically true lol
Austin Wintory also has some great videos on his channel breaking down the nitty gritty of how on earth you make an interactive musical that works, as well as looking deeper at different songs and explaining things like why there're four official versions of the soundtrack (!)

Usually prompts don't give me such a viscerally poignant sense of a complete story, but I instantly felt how a theme otherwise too complex would blossom through this as a character driven plot...
The element of a questionably reliable narrator really excites me. This prompt is phrased so perfectly, as it seems to imply knowledge encompasses a space outside of both relative and empirical truths.
I'm dying to know why nothing is as it seems, which is means I need to write it out. That is delicious motivation.

Incredible works of art from a limited medium, the blog favors quality over quantity and I am always in awe when a dancing creacher in Spore [2008] crosses my dash.
His spores often take him multiple hours to create, and he will go through astounding amounts of effort to commit to the bit. He made his cull poll in spore and then blew it up. Hes also super responsive and active and seems really eager to share his creation techniques and spread the joy of making things in spore [2008]. His blog almost singlehandedly sparked a significant resurgence in interest and playerbase of a 16 year old game that most people see as nothing but a meme. Hes just a guy who likes spore [2008]
