The last image is a drawing of Grant from all the way back in 2013. Miles will meet these guys in chapter 4!

tumblr likes the mountain goats, right? the idea for a new cover came to me yesterday evening, so i just spent the last five hours making this. i even made silly cover art imitating the all hail west texas art:

LMFAO funny how I headcanoned that Goat couldn’t sing and only DAYS after, Massive monster decided “Welp, gotta drop a metal album”😭

Soooo.. I’m changing that headcanon (a silent rule I have for making both Goat and Lamb headcanons is that these have to be opposites in some way)

Lamb is good at singing chantings, folklore, etc. Meanwhile, Goat sings more.. “modern” songs

Also, I’m kinda proud of this one shot of Goat hehe

the thing about the best ever death metal band in denton is that the song begins and it's describing a band that you don't think you want to listen to and then song ends describing a band that is the most important thing on earth and it is so desperately important that it does in fact outpace and outlive you.

i've thought about this a lot and if i had to explain recorded sound to a ghost or a time traveler or an alien i would play them the recording of california song from this tmg show. the quiet simplicity. the person in the audience who shouts "i love you". the way after two lines, john leaves his mic and all you hear is the crowd, but it's small enough that you can pick out individual voices. the person with high voice who hits every note and you can hear their smile. the way the quiet of the first verse turns into a emphatic chant of "i've got joy, joy, joy in my soul tonight". the guy who sings the song the regular way while the rest of the crowd holds a note, and ends up being the only person singing in the audience for a moment. the way the john and the crowd keep singing "you really got a hold on me" until it's just peter's bass and everyone snapping along. the little improvised lines john sings before he says "thank you very much" and the crowd erupts. humanity at its absolute finest for real
