Rufus wants to touch Goal all over if she'll let him - He'll start with her hair, and let his hand trail down, past her ear, boop her nose, down her cheek... He'll pull her close by the waist and then do that obnoxious eyebrow waggle thing while his hands accidentally slip onto her butt because of course they do. Since he'd like to keep his fingers though, he won't let them linger there and instead reaches for her hands to hold her lightly by the wrists, unsure of whether or not to keep going-

Hair: Yearning Ear: "I want you to hear me out." Nose: "You're so cute." Cheek: "I want to tell you I love you."/Deep affection/Devotion Waist: Possessiveness/"You are mine." Butt: Sexual attractiveness/lust Wrist: Fear of losing you

A multitude of feelings surges through Goal. Having Rufus so close is both exciting and ... well ... there’s this rather intense smell ... But if she’s honest she prefers that to Cletus’ somewhat antiseptic aura.

Rufus’ touch on the other hand is very intense and makes her heart flutter. She’s very tempted to reciprocate in kind, but out of the corner of her eye she notices Doc staring at them (or does he? It’s not all that easy to tell where he’s looking most of the time).

With a grin she withdraws from Rufus’ grasp and winks at him. “Awful timing as always, mister. But maybe we can continue that ‘conversation’ later.”

So this weekend I’ve got a comic convention, and because I’m not done with all my Rufus parts, I’m more or less going as a closet cosplay Rufus. Which is fine. One of my friends is going as a closet cosplay Goal. We’ll match.

But here’s the problem. My friend decided to do what he thought was a unique cosplay twist to Goal on the idea of “if she stayed on Deponia a while.” And he’d seen a few screencaps of Goal in Doomsday and got a wig that’s perfect for Doomsday. And his whole ensemble reminds me of the fucking final scene of Doomsday with Goal going off on Deponia alone.

BUT MY FRIEND HAS ONLY PLAYED THE FIRST GAME AND PART OF THE SECOND. SO! I cannot tell him he’s totally cosplaying a dead-on accurate Future Goal. And even more frustrating. He thinks that his version of Goal is compatible with my Rufus cosplay. I can’t make “I’m dead” jokes THE ENTIRE CONVENTION because I can’t spoil him.

And I think not making dead!Rufus jokes the entire weekend is going to be one of the biggest trials of my life.

  HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE? :

I’m not sure, but that’s mostly because I don’t require a relationship to be traditional romantic fluffy good feelings to be interested in a dynamic, and more importantly I don’t require the ship to actually work out. You wanna write such a thing with me? Let’s go for it, but let’s address the age gap as an actual thing instead of just ignoring it, and write all the problems and consequences that come from it.

  ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING? :  

Kiiiind of but also not really. I’m a filthy multishipper and I wasn’t lying when I said I ship pretty much everything, buuuuut I put a lot of emphasis on plausibility. It’s weird because sometimes I will love the ship but the characters absolutely hate each other and there’s no way it would ever work out - but for those, I love those ships because of that dynamic and that’s what I want to write them as. (And yknow if the muses surprise and do actually grow closer then I am all for that.)

So yeah! If you ship it I probably ship it too, and we can plan to work towards something in our threads, but then it’s up to whatever the plot and muses allow and I won’t force things if they don’t work out naturally.

  HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY’RE CONSIDERED NS/FW? :

I mostly just eyeball it tbh and I tend to err on the careful side- I can make sexual jokes all day long but there’s a very very slim chance of actual smut appearing on my blogs. The few times I wrote that stuff was with very close friends off tumblr, and it devolved into cracky uwu speak two paragraphs in. I am a serious quality roleplayer.

  WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH? :

Tonifus hurts my soul and I have a lot of thoughts and feelings I want to write a hc post about, but that requires me to put my thoughts into coherent words instead of keysmashes and screeching. Also Arfus? Clefus? hhhHHHHHHHRufus and all the clones tbh. All of them. But not at the same time. Unless...? No, I’m kidding. That’s way too many people.

Maybe it’s the fact that I’m aro as fuck, but I like could-have-been-great and will-never-work ships. Actually I just really like the challenge of making them work without breaking my own plausibility rules (and when they don’t I end up with quality angst instead c:)

  ANY NOTPS? :

Not really, just a few I’m less enthusiastic about. I tend to be uninterested in canon or pretty-much-canon ships. Even when they’re nice, when it feels like everything’s been said already, I just can’t bring myself to be invested as far as fan work goes. That said, Goalfus is still cute and there’s enough tragedy around it that I still see potential in the can-we-make-this-work-anyway-question-mark regard.

I’m also generally more open to try ships in rp than I would otherwise be, because this medium sure surprises sometimes. It has made me like ships (and characters!) I completely did not care about before.

  DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU? :

Please, if just to let me know that you’re also open to it. I am an anxious noodle and I don’t wanna force ships on anyone, so unless you tell me you’re okay with it, I’ll keep my shippy thoughts to myself.

Obsessed sounds about right, but again with the footnote that it doesn’t have to be happily ever after fluffy romance, and I don’t want to force something that doesn’t work even for the sake of a ship that I like. I’m much more interested in complex dynamics and how they drive character development.

  WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM? :

I know I said Roofcest earlier and it’s true but I sure feel some sort of way about Rufus saving Cletus’ life at the end there. I know it was for Goal, and more that he didn’t want Argus to be the one to survive, but bleh. The obvious is boring.

And if my friend buys a coffee anywhere (I don’t remember if he’s a big coffee drinker, but he’s going to be sleep deprived and probably wanting caffeine - I mean, it’s a con), I can lay on the Rufus’ terrible coffee jokes.

when I started shipping it if I did: I can’t remember when exactly I started shipping it, but it was definitely shortly after joining the discord server and finding the fandom my thoughts: this is more a jokey funtime ship to me than anything particularly serious, because they so would not date at all in canon but thats not gonna stop me What makes me happy about them: the constant bickering like 5 year olds What makes me sad about them: the extreme fights they must get into as well things done in fanfic that annoys me: uh .... i got nothing things I look for in fanfic: the bickering Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Rufus gets Goal and Cletus gets Aurora, it’s the way the universe goes My happily ever after for them: just being able to stand living together and enjoying each others company, that’s my end for them who is the big spoon/little spoon: Rufus tends to be big spoon, but they switch it up every now and then what is their favorite non-sexual activity: napping cuddle sessions, it’s the only time they get along

Valentines day date! 

I have a headcanon that people on Deponia don’t know Valentines day or either it’s just Rufus who’s never bothered with acknowledging it. So when they have a proper date he’s really confused and probably has some kind of wiretap in his ear. But Goal would certainly have fun anyways:3

“That’s why I’ve got to let go.” He did, and suddenly they weren’t on the Elysium deck anymore. And he was falling through space, falling back to Deponia.
