La mayoría de las recetas que vemos en línea, que pasan de generación en generación en las familias o que leemos en los libros y revistas de cocina, son para grupos grandes de comensales, de grandes porciones que eventualmente tendrán que almacenarse en la refrigeradora, consumirse casi que a la fuerza (cuando pasa la novedad del platillo) o simplemente quedarán olvidadas en la refri y eventualmente su destino final será el basurero.

Esto es, sin duda alguna, una limitante para querer aventurarse a preparar algo; también podemos agregar que nuestras casas son pequeñas, nuestros electrodomésticos, nuestras alacenas, nuestras familias y nuestros espacios de habitación se han ido reduciendo con los años, por lo que el espacio que tenemos, tanto para cocinar, para almacenarlo y los implementos u accesorios para prepararlos son diferentes con los que crecimos.

Algo que nos ha enseñado este 2020 es que nuestra casa es nuestro mundo y en nuestro mundo no debemos desaprovechar ni desperdiciar ningún recurso, tampoco debemos privarnos de comer delicioso, saludable y apenas con los recursos e implementos necesarios.

Un día me antojé de pizza, pero él no es tan fan de la pizza. El simple hecho de hacer o pedir una pizza solo para mi y tener que guardar el resto para seguir comiéndola el resto de la semana, no me hacía mucha gracia. Todas las recetas para la masa de la pizza pedían más de 4 tazas de harina, pero yo solo quería una pizza, pequeña, personal, para mi. Decidí investigar más sobre cómo hacer la masa de pizza perfecta para una porción y así fue como nació la idea #Para1ParaDos

Desde ese momento he ido escalando y probando muchas recetas en porciones perfectas #Para1ParaDos personas, con el fin de evitar el desperdicio de alimentos, reducir el consumo de alimentos procesados y ultraprocesados, también, que se puedan preparar en un hornito, horno pequeño, sartén o en una freidora de aire.

THE ISSUE OF SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION

According to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Sustainable Development goal 12 aims to “Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns” (n.d.). Issues such as this present themselves as ‘wicked problems’ for designers. As Wahl states: ‘wicked problems are real world problems that acknowledge the complex interdependence of diverse factors and stakeholders, rather than simplistic, linear cause and effect abstractions that isolate the product of design from its context” (2017).

Sustainable consumption, as defined by the United Nations, refers to “Worldwide consumption and production — a driving force of the global economy — rest on the use of the natural environment and resources in a way that continues to have destructive impacts on the planet” (n.d.). El viernes llegaron las frutas y verduras del servicio a domicilio que nos encanta. Como llegaron productos frescos para guardar en la refri, aproveché de una vez para organizarla y limpiarla.

De dicha limpieza vi que tenía un chayote perdido, media papa y en un envoltorio de cera de abejas, media cebolla y 1/4 de chile dulce, la combinación perfecta para una cremita de verduras, más con estas noches tan fresquitas.

Utilicé una batidora de mano, pero una batidora normal funciona muy bien también.

Ingredientes:

1 chayote pelado, picado en trozos grandes.

1/2 papa picada en trozos grandes.

Cebolla y chile en trozos grandes.

Sal, pimienta,condimentos al gusto y aceite al gusto para el sofrito.

1 cucharada de culantro.

2/3 de taza de crema dulce Hoplá (sustituto no lácteo de la crema dulce) si consumen lacteos pueden utilizar crema dulce normal.

2/3 aprox. de taza del líquido donde hervímos las papas y el chayote.

Preparación

Picamos el chayote y la papa y los ponemos a hervir en agua hasta que estén suaves. Reservamos 2/3 +/- de taza de líquido al finalizar el cocinado.

En un sartén sofreímos la cebolla y el chile, hasta que esté la cebolla traslúcida, apartamos.

En un recipiente alto, apto para la batidora de mano (yo utilizo un pichel) colocamos la papa, el chayote y los 2/3 de taza de líquido y batimos hasta optener una textura suave. Agregamos el chile y la cebolla y volvemos a batir. Una vez integrado todo, agregamos la crema dulce, sal, pimienta,condimentos al gusto, el culantro y batimos de nuevo.

En este punto es importante observar la textura que tenemos, si quisiéramos más líquida la crema, agregamos un poco más del líquido de cocción de la papa.

Agregamos todo el contenido a una olla, calentamos hasta que estén integrados todos los ingredientes, probamos punto de sal y estará lista para servir. Salen dos porciones abundantes, perfecta para una comida o una entrada en una porción más pequeña.

*Opcional decorar con una ojita de culantro y cebollino.
