I'm finally doing my "replay PLA to examine how wildly off my plotline for Lucas/Rei is and if I need to tweak things to be more canon compliant." Like what I did with Calem when I decided to run his get pregnant 2/3rd of the way through XY plotline. Had to actually replay the game to get a proper vibe for how the timeline would work. It's fine to be a little canon non-complaint, but I like to make it roughly close and just have "added/expanded scenes" vs changing things completely.
And while I've still got a ways to go to really set up anything solid, I forgot how Adaman is pretty much there during the entire Lake Trials thing. RIP him I guess. Was third-wheeling hard since I know Volo was being extra deliberate to put the moves on Rei each night. Keep Rei's eyes on him and not the other dependable guy (who is actually genuine) who's right there. Plus the new matebond probably getting to him, making him more possessive around this guy who Rei actually should have gone for who is giving off rival alpha vibes to his instincts. He's not doing anything overt since is still in helpful friendly merchant persona mode at this point. They're all working together as a team! But he's making Adaman second guess if it's worth setting up camp with these two each night while they're traveling together to complete each trial. They're so loud...especially Rei…
Adaman and Rei avoiding eye contact over breakfast the next morning while Volo is acting like everything is totally normal, chatting away.
But this def confirms for me the relationship isn't something VoloRei hide. Kind of can't hide it because of the matebond thing, but Adaman and Cogita know about it the earliest. Adaman likely just chalks it up to being none of his business/wasn't aware the two were courting(?). But if Volo was the one who came to Rei's rescue when no one else would, surely that means whatever is between them is legitimate and they were both just being subtle about their growing relationship. Volo risking alienating himself from Jubilife by sheltering Rei adds points to this idea (since while the Galaxy Team ultimately still help Rei to an extent, the implication seems to be that no one will initially help the protag when they’re first banished because they don’t want to risk turning Kamado against them. Would this not paint Volo’s action in a certain light? Make it seem like he’s willing to risk Kamado’s ire just to help Rei because he cares. Which very much works to his advantage even though that isn’t the true reason he helps).
To Adaman it does still seem a bit sudden/bad timing for getting together. But they have bigger issues than new relationships to deal with so just leaves it be to focus on the task at hand. Volo isn’t really giving him much of an opportunity to pull Rei to the side and talk about things even if he wanted to anyway, since he’s always with them.

i was on vacation- the aggression chart???? lmao
nicee 👍👍 loving the work
also the themed playthroughs seem fun :)
Oh I’m having a great time with my true calem run, just got through shalour city
And while I’ve yet to piece together the aggression chart I will use this as an opening to break down the relationship chart that started as an unholy consequence of me trying to fit calem into anime plots
Tumblr media
Starting from the top:
Shauna having feelings for Calem is something that is laid on very thick in the firework scene. Anime wise I almost linked Shauna to Serena too but I ended up backing off the idea because I was lacking evidence.
Tumblr media
Tierno, i don’t think i need to explain this much if you’ve watched the anime, his crush on Serena was something he was very open about.
Tumblr media
Miette, I actually don’t think she had a thing for Ash, like at all, she does not try to pursue him at all in the anime she just likes to talk about it, it’s a tool to get under Serena’s skin. But that alone would make her a valued piece of the unholy love triangle amalgamation so I added her to the chart.
Tumblr media
Calem, specifically, Rival Calem: okay I think I need to explain this one a little more blatantly. Calem’s character arc cannot exist without Serena. His entire journey is dedicated to her mere existence, and pokemon masters really hammers home how important she is to him. She is the blueprint to his every move and step forward because in his mind she deserves better than he can offer so he will fight to be better. The way he talks about her when she isn’t around is unapologetic admiration and I cannot ignore the writing on the wall. He likes her. He’s got it bad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Serena, specifically anime Serena of course. Her emotional attachment to Ash isn’t just surface level like Tiernos attraction to her, being around Ash gave her the courage to be herself, to stand up to her mom and make her own future, to keep going even when she’s lost and lost hard. She used Ash as a moral compass to keep her head in the game and that only strengthened her connection to him. The end of the series kiss scene was far from unwelcomed, it was over due.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ash….this boy is oblivious as shit. I’m sorry Serena was not sly nor slick she fumbled at every turn and you STILL didn’t know??? I and from what I can see, many other fans, have come to the only conclusion that Ash just doesn’t do romance. He has ignored so many clear cut love interests and left them one sided because he doesn’t recognize or want romance. He just wants to be the best like no one ever was, love isn’t on his mind, therefore he is clueless to the love induced war going on around him. He is an unintentional ladies man.
Tumblr media
And ALLLL of that is just the information i collected from rewatching the whole of X&Y while also replaying through pokemon X and ALSO going through pokemas events. Its all connected, i haven’t done anything else with my free time, its all kalos baby. ALL KALOS.
Blame Pokemon ZA being announced (I say as if I hadn’t started this before that)

My versions of Lysandre and Sycamore headcanon (with some Diantha and Malva too)
Lysandre
One of his biggest pet peeves is those who have a slobbish demeanor about them, he absolutely hates sloppiness
Is quite musically talented (violin and piano)
Classy drunk, keeps his shit together a lot better than Sycamore
Pan, appreciates the beauty of all sexes and genders, has had an on/off thing with Sycamore before and is currently dating Malva, biggest celebrity crush on Diantha tho (she turned him down)
Diantha knows he's trouble, all of the 🚩🚩🚩 vibes on-sight.
His whole relationship with Malva is her going "I can make him worse lol 😈" (this is a woman who, in Masters, stood by and smiled as he implicitly executed two Rocket grunts. There's something definitely wrong with her too.)
Roughly the alignment chart we're looking at:
Tumblr media
All manner of misfortune (violence, murder, madness) runs in the family, originating around the time of AZ and the Ultimate Weapon, seen as something like a curse, particularly on the male side. As such, Lys is the last of AZ's descendants.
Dealt with those sorts of intrusive thoughts by becoming a philanthropist in an attempt to counteract them, but it ended up having the opposite effect, fueling them and making them worse instead. (He was always destined to fall.)
He had convinced himself of a feeling of disconnect with him using the Ultimate Weapon and those that would die, but he would end up becoming directly responsible for the death of the one who became the Lumiose Ghost Girl. It wasn't initially his intention to kill her, he wanted to try to convince her to not go public over the Holocaster's spyware/Flare's schemes, and wasn't able to, leaving him with little other choice than to silence her. (He's unaware of her haunting, or that she's looking for him.) Probably the closest he's been to realizing he needed to STOP, but Malva was the worst person he could have called to confess to.
Has committed orchestrated a few murders "disappearances" since tho (some himself, some by other members of his organization, they're functionally a secret police), there were some people becoming more aware of Flare's activities and presence. It's said to be unsafe going into certain areas of Lumiose City at night.
Despite things between them being strained, still would prefer trying to save Sycamore and the children as "chosen ones", by force if he has to. They have to come around eventually that things were better for the future this way, right?
Sycamore:
Is an absolute, clumsy menace on rollerskates. Has nearly cracked a rib more than once.
Lysandre gifted him those bright red-orange socks
Party drunk. More than once, Lys has had to half-drag, half-carry him to his Cafe before to get him something to help sober him up
Seriously, do not trust this man with any alcohol
Sina and Dexio have also had to deal with this (they do get "apology pay")
Disaster bi, disaster magnet (probably what attracted him to Lysandre in the first place)
Diantha had (quietly) warned him about Lysandre, while the man was in the room, while they were dating. Sycamore just mentally standing there dying from awkwardness.
Masks a more jaded streak from failing to dissuade Lysandre of his misanthropic views, and plays oblivious when they're around each other now. (He's also somewhat aware of Lysandre's end goal, tho not really of the "when" or the "how.")
He's not at the point where he wants his old friend dead despite his awareness of Lysandre's intentions, but there is the looming horrifying thought that it just might be in Kalos's best interest if he were. He hates it, especially that he's not strong enough a Trainer to stop Lysandre himself.
Not sure if learning of Lysandre/Flare "disappearing" a few people would be enough to push him over the edge fully on that tho. (He still harbors some feelings that he's been trying to shove down.)
It really bothers him having Calem and Serena basically fight his battle there, there's a good amount of self-loathing over his failure to talk some sense into his friend and that the kids are doing the adults' job.

Five children had left Vaniville Town on a journey, but only Serena and Calem had come back on their own two feet. Someone — Professor Sycamore? Diantha?  — had sent the others home in wooden boxes with brass rivets and silk linings. As if finery could hide the shriveled, husk-like reality of their friends’ bodies.
Heroes, martyrs, corpses, children, the whispers reached their ears the moment Serena and Calem stepped off the train. A male and a female Meowstic followed behind them, paw-in-paw as their trainers were hand-in-hand.
The crowd suffocatingly pressed against them, the mourners closest to them grabbed at every inch of their bodies and clothes and hair, as if they thought Serena and Calem were living Saints, as if they thought they could spill the blood of the Champion and his rival and bring their children back. That wouldn’t work, Serena already knew, bloody crescents cut into her palms, but that wouldn’t stop them from trying, and she had half a mind to let them—
Next to her Calem stiffend, his grasp on her hand tightening almost desperately. He was fighting to keep his breathing even, his dark gray eyes tearless. He didn’t say anything, but he didn’t have to. Calem hated nearly all physical contact, particularly when he didn’t initiate it, and this was overwhelming him, the hungry, animalistic grief these people had.
Serena was just thinking through the consequences of fistfighting her fellow townsfolk or having her Meowstic psychically freeze them in place, when her mother burst through the crowd, pulled the two trainers into a quick, one-armed hug, and started snapping at the crowd.
“Hey! Back off! Give them some breathing room!” It wasn’t often that Serena got to see the tough side of Rhyhorn-racing from her mom — what happens on the track, stays on the track, and all that — but whenever she did it was always in her defense.
The crowd miraculously did what her mother told them to do, and backed off, turning back into people as they retreated. No longer were they carnivorous beasts hungering to strip the flesh from her bones, the bones from her soul from a grief that swallowed them whole. Maybe they never had been, she realized, seeing the posters and pens and shirts with her and Calem (along with their respective teams) plastered on them in bright, eye-searing colors. Maybe they were fans. Maybe she was simply losing her mind again. Maybe the light was once again starting to shine through the cracks in her brain. Maybe she was simply feeling guilty, she always did (she had every right to). Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe—
Sensing his panic, Calem’s Meowstic detached itself from its mate and wrapped itself around its trainer’s leg, purring and using its powers just enough to slow his frantic heart beats.
Calem’s death grip loosened, although he didn’t let go of her hand. He never did anymore. If they couldn’t do something together, they didn’t do it.
“Now, honey, I can’t wait to hear all about your adventure, and whatever else you might want to tell me”—if Serena wasn’t watching her mother so intently she might have missed Grace’s eyes darting to her and Calem’s entwined hands before flicking back up to her daughter’s face—“but why don’t we discuss everything while we’re moving? It’ll be quicker that way.”

i forgot to post about it yesterday but here's the fic i wrote for @ficwip5k ! it's a post pokémon xy story where augustine is called to alola during the rainbow rocket events of USUM and meets the other lysandre. i'm actually contemplating writing more in this verse but in the meantime... you can read exactly 5000 words of this:
here's an excerpt, for a little large sampling taste:
It was all done under the pretense that they needed his opinion or his expertise on this or that, but they all knew that they were calling to see if he was doing alright. He was. The long, bedridden days spent drinking cheap wine and staring at the ceiling were behind him, for the most part. Seeing the children thrive had helped: Serena was on her way to becoming a powerful mega-evolution expert, and Calem had held up his own against the league masterfully. Trevor was coming to the lab almost every day, joking that he was training for his internship, and Shauna had finally worked up the courage to ask Serena. Tierno had left them to go study new, exciting dance moves in Unova. The world had to keep on turning: the future was still there to be believed in, to be built upon. There was no time to waste clinging to negativity. No body had been found in the remains of Lysandre's self-made catacombs. For a few months, after he'd gone through his belongings, Augustine had kept seeing him everywhere. Some of it was just running into things that triggered painful memories: gifts he'd been given, notes left behind on his desk, pictures they'd taken together. On a day when he'd felt mostly like himself, he'd rummaged through the storage and found a box of pastries that must have been misplaced, and proceeded to have a breakdown braced against a shelf. Some of it – a lot of it, if he had to be honest with himself – was plainly and simply seeing things. Someone's red hair would catch the sun in the street, and he'd turn around, his heart beating hard enough to hurt, only to find he was once again chasing a ghost. He'd see him in store windows showing off nicely cut suits. He'd see him after hearing a stranger let out a low, throaty laugh not unlike a roar. Worst of all, he'd see him when he was trying to forget him in other people's beds, in other people's hearts. He'd close his eyes and for a few seconds the hands touching his chest would be his hands, the lips searching his would be his lips. Over time, it had become an even more insidious addiction than the wine had been, and he'd stopped completely. At least if he thought of Lysandre while touching himself, only one person was getting hurt.

Alright so that Neo Champion event was...disappointing. Infuriatingly so. So to start off Professor Oak sees that there are a bunch of new trainers who are struggling. Professor Oak feels like they are aiming too high and that could cause problems for them and wants to help them. So he calls Lance to gather Red, Blue and Leaf. The Kantrio think they are being summoned to help be judges when Lance surprises them by saying he wants them to be participants by teaming up with the beginner trainers. Lance and Professor Oak mention the parameters of the tournament which provides my first and probably most major critique. There's two parts: a knowledge part and a battle part. Now, the problem I have here is there should've been three parts. The name of the event is "Three Trainers, Three Minds" which implies that we're going to see how three trainers with different mindsets mentor others. So theoretically there should be three parts that showcase the strengths of their individual training styles Only there's two...so someone is going to get left out. Leaf suggests to Red and Blue that because this is an opportunity to grow they should try using new Pokemon. She mentions she was inspired by the Galar NC trio, so this gives the hint that the three had already caught the legendary birds (par for the course so far for the Neo champion events in that the Pokemon they're paired with are ones they already owned). Now it's time to train!
First we have Blue, who enlists the help of three previous neo champions to help train his team: Bede, Hop and Calem. Now this is cool because they all have the same thing in common with struggling to beat their rivals (the protagonists) and it seems like there might be some discussion where Blue talks about learning from past mistakes...or not they just kind of skip over any discussion. Oh and where's Zapdos? Not around apparently. Blue was really eager to take up Leaf on the idea of using his legendary bird but of the three he's the only one not shown to be practicing with it with his mentees. Leaf does actually use her Moltres to her team and her part of the story involves her instructing her team on how it's important to deepen their knowledge of Pokemon not just by looking at a Pokedex but by bonding with them. It then cuts to Blue meeting with Leaf in the town square. Both of them feel like training is going well for their teams, but then the conversation switches to Red. They're both concerned about their silent friend as they don't know about his teaching skills. So they decide to check on him They eventually find Red and his Articuno...relentlessly beating his team. The trainers look visibly panicked and even say they surrender at one point. Blue and Leaf try to caution Red about overdoing the tough love and that they're being judged on how well they mentor the others. Red assures them (silently) that he has this in mind and that's why's he going all out on them Now Red going ham on his team invokes him Gigantamaxing his Snorlax in the Rocket Hideout back in the Villain arc. He clearly isn't one to go easy. But where you can at least justify him really not liking Team Rocket and wanting to shut them down with haste...it's hard to say the same when of the Kantrio, he has the youngest mentees (a youngster and a camper). It felt like overkill. I can 100% buy Red not being the most natural mentor. He's not perfect and it's a good way to show that. I thought it was a little much to have him go that hard on newbies. If his team was slightly more experienced trainers but who were stuck in a rut it would've felt a little less heavy-handed. Then it's the day of the tournament. We see Blue and Leaf with their teams who are clearly nervous. Blue's team tell him they're scared of holding him back and despite them winning against Hop, Bede and Calem, they apparently lost more times than they won. Blue tells them to have more confidence in themselves but honestly it felt like they needed to hear different words of encouragement. Meanwhile Leaf's team is also feeling similarly, however Leaf manages to respond with telling them to relax and have fun. That they won't be able to show their best if they're too anxious. Where's Red and his team? Well thankfully he didn't scare his group off. In fact they run into Diantha, Alder and Steven and eagerly challenge the three champions to a battle. Congrats, Red you're Bootcamp was successful.
The tournament begins. First part is the knowledge assessment. Everyone does well but Leaf is the clear winner. Professor Oak compliments her and her team's deep knowledge of Pokemon and their love too.
Blue remarks "trust and love in your Pokemon"...which almost certainly reminds anyone who played RBGY/FRLG of what was told to Blue after he lost to Red. That was a key part he was missing. And years later, he missed it again.
Now to the battle portion. We already know Leaf has secured her spot as a neo champion so now we know narratively we're about to see another Red vs Blue matchup. Well with the Neo champion stadium being about growth and seeing interesting upsets (Calem finally beating Serena and Bede, Hop and Marnie finally taking down Gloria, Victor AND Leon) surely we're about to see something unprecedented right? Ha. Hahaha. Red, Blue and Leaf all make it to the semifinals, with Blue's team taking out Leaf's team. But then it's time to face Red's and it's clear he's at a disadvantage. Where Red's team takes the powerful hits in stride, Blue's team quickly becomes frazzled and his two mentees get knocked out rather quickly leaving only Blue left. A final clash happens between Zapdos and Articuno but Red's Articuno emerges victorious. So Blue focused too much on training them up quickly that he forgot to teach them to enjoy battling. Despite Red's training from hell, his team managed to at some point lose their fear of losing (as seen by them being fearless enough to challenge the likes of Diantha, Alder and Steven to a battle). Once again we see Blue repeat a mistake that cost him the championship title years ago: being so afraid of losing he forgot to just enjoy the battle. This leads me to my second major problem with the arc. Blue has been hinted throughout Pokemas to not only enjoy mentoring others, but to be good at it. Yet if I'm being honest, he did poorly in this story. He failed to realize his team needed better words of encouragement, he was the only one of the Kantrio to not use his legendary in training, and he failed to teach his trainees how to better bond with their Pokemon and how to enjoy battling. The only saving grace in this is that he at least in both instances of failure against Leaf and Red recognizes where he messed up and apologizes... Which would've been a great jumping off point for a third arc where he can correct those mistakes and give his team a chance at victory...oh wait...it's only two parts to this tournament. Welp With the trend of Neo Champion events being a chance for the rivals to triumph over the protagonist friends, it was really jarring and disheartening to see Blue not get a clear distinct moment to shine against both Red and Leaf (yeah he wins against Leaf in the battle portion, but it's never stated he came in second place to her for the knowledge portion which would've implied that he at least beat Red at something). We come to the end where they announce the Neo champions. Leaf is first and she's praised for having a deep knowledge of Pokemon and true love for them as well. Red is last and he was praised for being able to conquer his team's fears of losing and how sharp they looked, reminding Lance of when Red challenged him. Oak does mildly chide Red for his methods being harsh but it was kind of downplayed.
But Blue gets told his team was solid in both performances so the judges thought he should get the title too. Honestly didn't feel like he was really solid because he made two critical mistakes (that again were supposed to have been ingrained in him after his loss at the Indigo Plateau). Also the praise was more directed at his team having a solid showing but not the one thing I felt like he did really well which was own up to his faults and saw room for improvement. It's an important part of leadership and the fact that was dismissed too was annoying. Again, a third leg of the tournament the writers could've used that strength of his to give him a chance to unequivocally defeat Leaf and Red instead of just being the solid number 2. Yeah it was nice to (finally) see Professor Oak praise Blue to his face, but it honestly felt a little unearned in the sense he didn't feel amazing the way Leaf and Red got to be. It felt more like a participation trophy than him getting to back the claims up that he's made over the story of Pokemas of being a good mentor (and as he said in his sygna suit sync pair story he's supposed to be better at it than Red). So yes, the Kantrio get to all be Neo Champions but it felt like this story didn't capture the same level of growth and resolving loose ends the previous two did. Blue failed to triumph, Red kind of got away with harsh training that would've been scolded a bit more harshly otherwise, and Leaf kind of shines in a safe way but not really challenging her skills.

Tell us about your OC! Does she have a partner Pokemon? Or a team? What region is she from?
Oh I would happily yap about her for hours omg
The Leeanna Post
To start off, her full name is Leeanna Autumn Colette Turner, (but later becomes Woodrow due to her marrying Leon). Though sometimes she is called Lea by her childhood best friends Serena and Calem, Leon. (Pronounced: Lee-uh)
Her birthday is March 15th, making her a Pisces. She is native to the Kalos reigon, and was actually their Champion from the ages of eleven to twenty two. (More on why she left later)
When she was Champion, her team consisted of:
Sylveon ♀ [The ace]
Chandelure ♂
Garchomp ♀
Greninja ♂
Vespiquen ♀
Venasaur ♂
Leeanna is feisty, stubborn, impulsive, and sassy. But she's also quite clever, compassionate, loyal to those she loves, ambitious, determined, and quite a passionate lover.
She was born and raised in Kalos, being sent on a Pokemon journey by her parents despite not really wanting to yet. She never had the best relationship with her parents, especially since she grew up in nobility. She's a Baroness, and suffered quite a traumatic childhood. She developed claustrophobia at a young age, and strove to be a perfectionist to please her parents. She's an only child.
She's essentially the X and Y protagonist. She was the one to defeat Lysandre and take down the ultimate weapon, as well as defeating Diantha and taking her place. The only issue was that she never wanted to be Champion in the first place, and developed a terrible cocaine addiction at age seventeen.
Soon after her twenty-second birthday, her father forced her into an arranged marriage with a Count named Caspian, who she immedietly hated. He was cruel to her, telling her she would only be good as his wife. Naturally, she ran away to Galar soon after this to go live with her uncle.
I won't give too many spoilers as to what happens in her new life in Galar, as you can read the fic on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/56822020/chapters/144468685
But, this is where she meets Leon for the second time. They met before as children, since they both became Champions at a young age and saw one another at events. Leon was almost immedietly smitten with a celebrity crush, as Leeanna thought he was loud and annoying, even though he never told her about his feelings.
The two of them meet again and almost instantaniously hate one another. Their story is enemies to lovers, as I love angst >:3
But as time goes on, Leeanna replaces Opal as the fairy-type gym leader. You know what that means! She gets a new team, which is almost entirely female except for Espeon.
Sylveon, Primarina, Tinkaton, Alolan Ninetails, Florges, Mega Altaria, Alcremie, Espeon, and Dedenne.
She does eventually fall in love with Leon, and the two of them end up getting married. In the future, they have three children:
Dande (yes that is his name as a reference to Leon's Japanese name and also I just like the name) Who has dark brown hair, light tan skin, and golden eyes. He takes after his mother more than his father, and is a total mama's boy when he's little.
Auriella, who has tan skin, purple hair, and sea-green eyes. She takes more so after her father in personality, but did get her mother's sass.
Zinnia, who is pale like her mother, with light purple hair and golden eyes. She doesn't really take after either of her parents, being more quiet and reserved.
[I will HAPPILY draw their kids for yall and/or write more about them if you want] :D
And of course, Leeanna is incredibly happy with her future. If you want the full story and not just snippits, go ahead and check out my AO3 profile! The entire first book is on there, and I'm currently working on the second! :)
Draw fanart of them and/or write fanfic and my heart will be yours

So this an edit for my combat child au. Basically I asked myself how many Pokémon protagonists could I squish into each other and ended up with Combat Child (Leaf, Lyra, Rosa, Gloria, Juliana), Ethan (who is also Cheren, Lucas, Elio, Calem), Hero (Hilbert, Trace, Victor, Florian), Moon (Selene, May, Serena), and then Dawn is just Akari. She’s the most normal. Other protagonists also are important like Hilda, Nate, Elaine, Chase and Kris. Rip to Brendan ig.
The basics of Combat Child is that she grew up in a simulation, woke up in the future but to her that was her present, then got dumped by Celebi into the past and realised she aged way slower than other humans. She was ten for one hundred years but she was still physically and mentally ten so she was running around committing crimes and beating up people twice her size as Combat Child. Then she ran into Ethan who through shenanigans got her to age normally and from there she ends up having to come to terms with mortality and finally having to grow up.
Another part is the protagonists with multiple names all have time/space powers. Combat’s is she can slow down time, Ethan’s is he can rewind time like reloading a video game, Hero’s is he can speed time up which he mostly uses to give himself super speed, Dawn’s is she can travel through time and space so when she met the pearl and diamond clans she had a hard time choosing between them, Moon’s is she can manipulate space but specifically only her and the other timey-wimey kids aka she can shapeshift and then there is one more timey-wimey kid but they’re a secret for now.
To sum up their personalities in a few words:
⭐️ Combat is a freak gremlin child who’s favourite hobbies are martial arts, vigilantism, helping other kids and fighting rich guys. Her main motivation in life is running from all her problems and destroying anyone who reminds her of Lysandre.
⭐️ Ethan is a child of divorce with severe identity issues who goes to literally space and back for his friends. He’s one of the more responsible ones of the group but just bc he’s normal compared to them, doesn’t mean he’s actually normal. He became a teacher when he was 14, a lab assistant when he was 15 and then an Interpol agent when he was 16. Him and Combat are ride or die for each other but also disagree a lot as I’m sure you could guess.
⭐️ Hero was dumped from the past into the present so he’s the opposite of Combat. Unlike Combat who gave up on getting back to the future, Hero desperately wants to go home. He’s fairly chill and likes to go with the flow but since all his friends’ flows are nuts, he ends up acting nuts too. To be fair tho, before he met any of them he fought eternatus on the original darkest day so it’s not like he’s not reckless too. For the most part he’s content to do whatever Combat’s up to whenever he isn’t looking for a way home. He likes pranks and mischief but equally enjoys slacking off. His favourite hobby tho is cooking/baking. Which is great bc the other two people he lives with are Combat who cooks like Yor from Spy x family and Watcher (Looker’s sister I made up) who only eats healthy. If she could survive purely off of protein powder and kale she would.
⭐️ Moon is chaotic too but her brand of chaos is different to Combat’s. She’s known about her powers all her life and mostly uses them to run off and explore as much as she can. She loves to prank people with her powers but most of all loves exploring and Pokémon. She’s a dare devil and going to ultra space which was basically a dream come true for her. The main thing that sets her apart from Combat is that whilst Combat has absolute blind confidence in herself for the most part and it takes a lot for her to realise she was wrong, Moon’s a bit insecure. She likes to play characters instead of herself because she’s scared that when she isn’t performing she’s boring or annoying.
⭐️ Dawn was a normal girl, living a normal life until she became champion of the Sinnoh region. Then Arceus dropped her into the past to go fix things and she’s forced to learn her powers and save the world… again. She’s more of a reluctant hero than the others. If the worlds in danger, of course she’s going to save it. She’s a good person. She’s just more likely to complain about constantly having to save the world. Like in a Percy Jackson way. Her main motivation is she wants to live a normal life however, she can’t live a normal life if the world’ destroyed so she’ll do what she has to to be a normal girl who just so happens to be a contest star, the Sinnoh champion and Arceus’ chosen.

[A video, recorded by Calem.
"Alright, here we go. You have the Pokéballs, and from here we can find you a Pokémon to catch. You said you wouldn't want a canine Pokémon, yeah? So we should avoid the Mightyena packs."
"Yes, that sounds... prudent." Calem's friend mutters to himself, folding his hands over his cane.
"And don't worry about wild Pokémon. You can borrow my Absol for the battles for now. Here, let me let him out." A click before the release of a Pokéball sounds. Calem's absol stretches slightly, and yawns. It prances over to the younger boy, clearly to receive pets.
"Hello." Fingers bury themselves in white fur. After a few seconds, the Absol suddenly stands at full attention, head jerking into the direction of the nearby woods. "What is the matter? Did you spot something?" An agreeing growl, then the Absol bounds off. After a moment of looking at one another, the two boys begin to walk after the Pokémon.
"This is strange, he never did this before... He's younger than the other Absol in our group, so maybe he hasn't had much experience with the disaster sense? Maria is better at it, I think." The thin boy freezes for a moment at the name. "According to Miss Eileen she ran halfway across the region to attach herself to her."
"I take it that is not normal."
"Far from it." They are in the bushes by now, and the edge of the Absol's tail is back in view. "What did you find, boy?" The absol looks up. A small Ducklett is between his paws, and he is growling at something in the bushes. A single, oversized Mightyena stands there, growling, with the faintest red glow to their eyes.
"Stay back, Calem." The warning is low. Calem's friend is hunching over slightly, and gripping his cane strangely. His eyes are distant, like he isn't quite in the right place. Like he is remembering something else. The Mightyena growls. Then lunges. The video cuts out right when the boy moves to swing his cane.]

ANYWAYS! Should I explain the catholic calem headcanon? I should explain the catholic calem headcanon.
Okay so i don’t actually think hes catholic, i don’t think he or his parents are religious- BUT vaniville is definitely a retirement town and kalos is based on France which- if you know anything about French history and the revolution- is rich with catholic history. The people who live in vaniville are either
Rich people who had successful careers (I.e. grace and her daughter or calem’s parents who are both veteran trainers)
Old people who have retired.
Just going off vibes mostly- it’s a gated old timey looking community missing the modern aesthetics of places like lumiose. While I don’t think he is self labeled catholic I think vaniville is a very catholic grown community and him being raised there his entire life will ingrain him with a lot of the traumas that you often see discussed from those raised catholic, which we do see in game- like emotional repression, trying to fit in a traditionally masculine role of a protector, perfectionism, I think you get the basic idea-
Okay that’s it that’s my unhinged rambling for today I’ve typed too fast and now my fingers hurt
I might expand on this in non-shitpost form later when I can form a more coherent thought process

I have two headcanon versions of Sycamore: like, one's closer to canon in that he still thinks he can reason with Lysandre and is either kidnapped by him in an effort to spare his friend (lured in by one of their usual coffee dates at Lysandre's Cafe and jumped by the grunts, and the raid doubles as a rescue mission with the Defenders of Kalos helping you), or he joins up with the player and double battles his way thru LysLabs with the player.
(Either option ends up with him, Calem, Serena and Shauna storming the Ultimate Weapon base so he can get the opportunity to try and talk some sense into Lysandre, but still failing since he's come too far at that point to stop between his Holocaster genocide declaration and raising the Ultimate Weapon. There's no going back to how things were before.)
The second headcanon version has tried and failed to reason with Lysandre at multiple points before the story really even begins, and realizes his friend has settled on that path and that he likely can't bring him back. He knows that he's not strong enough as a Trainer to take Lysandre down, but as a prodigy, YOU might just be the key to saving Kalos (even if it results in his ex-friend's death). He still knows it's pretty awful of him sending a child to fight under those sorts of stakes tho, so there's still a fair amount of regret there.
(Canon Sycamore still seems too naive even in Masters that Lysandre can be rehabbed, even tho it mostly comes off that Lysandre is just willing to be a bit more patient now while still being extremely dangerous, and still willing to bring about his ideal world by any means necessary. My 2nd Sycamore is more aware of how ruthless Lysandre is willing to be, and more aware of his eventual plans. The 1st headcanon is still kinda in denial/somewhat oblivious like he is in canon, but tries to be more useful after he learns the truth.)
