Progress Update on Melodi

Hello, everyone!

Happy New Year!

On December 15th 2023, I made the public announcement that Lil Miss Rarity will receive no further comic updates from me, finally confirming a common theory that I had lost the will to continue creating it. Lil Miss Rarity, just to confirm here, is now public domain and I encourage fan-blogs and will proverbially pass the torch to anyone who would like to take up the mantle.

It wasn't an easy decision to make because of how many times I'd promised I would never stop updating it, and I did in fact have future plans for it (I will be making a video on YouTube describing how I'd planned to continue the story, and how I would have ended it if I ever did).

But in its wake came Melodi, a spiritual successor to Lil Miss Rarity, and I've decided that a story-driven video game with ongoing updates would be the smartest decision, at least for the introduction to the series.

And so along came this twiggy elf. (Important note: Her booby size on her sprite is exaggerated, same as her head size. The in-game art for cutscenes will show more proper body proportions.)

Melodi is now just four directional (diagonal movement) sprite animations away from being a complete character sprite, which means creating a proof of concept will be just a matter of time.

As of today, I have completed:

The intro cutscene for the game, leading to the introduction of Melodi and her teacher, Eliah Sterium (Multiple full color images accompany that cutscene)

Seven unique songs entirely composed by myself (Literally learned how to make music a week ago just for this project)

Four directional movement sprites consisting of 6 frames of pixel animation each direction (Including separating each part to make them usable for other characters' sprites)

Four directional idle animations consisting of 6 frames of animation each direction (Again, making paperdolls to use later for other characters)

A discord server for the ongoing production of Melodi RPG where I'll be answering questions, including answering as the characters from the game similar to the LMR ask-blog

27 (just counted) preliminary sketches to flesh out character designs and have reference for myself

Eliah Sterium's design, making the ladies go gaga

Mountains of lore (a lot of which can be found in the Discord's lore channels)

Personalities for the primary cast of deadbeat magic school students

Art for the title screen

The entire storyboard for Episode 1 and Episode 2

The pricing model for the game (Episode 1 will be a free demo, and all remaining episodes will be bundled together in a $10 purchase)

The "Pet Cwow" option on the Quit Game menu and what happens when you pet him (You'll see)

Many new fans/friends who've introduced themselves in the Discord

And, I have received (on December 31st) my very first negative review of the game, which I will cherish. Someone who knew nothing other than "It's a game about an elf who goes psychotic" and saw the title art said that the game was basically doomed to fail because Melodi has large breasts, to which I replied "Imagine being this fucking butthurt over tits existing" which set him off into an obnoxious and insulting rage that ended with "Enjoy nothing but horny virgins playing your game and ignoring the dog water, generic ass story." A quote that I will never, ever, ever forget, and if I someday make a physical release of the game, I promise you, that quote will be on the back of the box.

There's even more than just all this, I've already sunk tons of hours of time and effort into the production of Melodi and I am super excited to continue.

I want to thank everyone for the support of the game so far, and I hope once people know more about the story and characters, the game sees the same kind of fandom that Lil Miss Rarity once had.

Just some interactions that happened to me a couple of years ago.

The person I'm referring to is probably stalking my account as I post this 😕

I was so uncomfortable trying to respond to them saying this, let alone in response to my photo.

When they broke our friendship (In a very cringe way btw. I can elaborate if anyone asks) they told me how I "treated them horribly" even though I was the one who constantly just had to deal with their Bullshit when they texted me.

They'd also constantly oversexualize all the female characters I Roleplay/I like

Ex: Saying that Peko has (AND I LITERALLY QUOTE.) "phat juicy tits".

When we had a Simp channel in our Discord server That was Yk... Dedicated to fictional characters.. or people in their class they thought were pretty. They posted a photo into it of Me in a Byakuya Cosplay looking down at the camera and then started going on and on about how they'd give me everything they owned and such and it made me so uncomfortable that I couldn't even response logically so i just sent "<3" and didn't respond to the text.

They would also talk constantly about their AUs and stuff about The Cuphead show. I rlly did like a lot of what they talked about since I liked Cuphead the Game and have a very open mind to others Aus. But the thing was was that I had openly talked about how I didnt want to watch the Cuphead show because I just didn't like the voice acting ((Well they've got good voice acting, good Animation, and funny plots , but I just don't think the Cuphead cast should have voices. But I did watch the show after all this, and it was pretty good)). But i just remember that one day I was getting tired of them talking about Cuphead and I texted them "I don't mean to be rude but can you stop sending Cuphead content? You're slowly making me dislike it 😕" (that's the exact quote), and then they got annoyed and was like "that was the only direct cuphead thing I've sent" And I ofc denied that bc I don't rlly loose interest in things through only one message unless it's controversial. And I wasn't gonna deal with pulling up all that evidence so I just said "Omfg *name*" "Nah I'm done with discord" and they instantly started to "im so sorry" bomb but I told them I wouldn't talk to them until I calmed down bc I was just pretty grouchy at the moment. When I came back I sent some words abt me calming myself down again, then said "I apologize for my outburst". And bam we were somehow friends again????

What was even worse was that they did this all in front of our mutual friend (well at the time it was mutual, now they're just my friend ^_^) that they were at the time dating.

(I don't even remember if they sent more cuphead and I'm not even gonna dig for it)

All I know is that that could've been easily resolved by either just saying something along the lines of "I'm sorry I'll try to send them less" or even being like "Cuphead is my Hyperfixation, just like how your hyperfixation is Danganronpa"

They'd also text the gc that me and my friend were in that they were going to commit Slick-a-Slide and then disappear for weeks on end. So ofc me and my friend would be worried and get in a depressive state because we were under the false narrative that they Unalived, just for them to come back after a while and just brush it off. Each time we asked if they were okay they would always be like "Yeah Sorry my mom just took away my phone." And for a while I started to speculate that they were just in a Mental hospital but they never mentioned it (and they Kinda told us EVERYTHING that happens in their life/day/week.) So not only were they treating me wrong, they were dragging my friend into it and Worrying them. (This happened multiple times while they were dating, so I can't even imagine the levels of depression that could've spiraled my friend into. Like having to hear your lover say they were going to commit, then go offline for a long time, is actually petrifying.)

This is a small one but I also remember that a couple weeks or months before they broke ties with me, We were in a server with all of their friends (+my friend and I), they texted the public channel asking if anyone wanted to call, and when I said that I was down to call that literally responded something along the lines of "someone who isn't Phantom" and then they kicked me shortly after I responded with a sad emoji. That made me lose all left over respect I had for them. My friend confronted them on how that wasn't too nice to say, and then they got kicked too.

Also this is off track but imma bring it up since I'm currently obsessed with Korekiyo, but the way they Roleplayed Korekiyo made him seem like he's some Holier than thou character that could pretty much read minds and just tell what they were doing prior ((for example a character could make and excuse to walk off to give something to someone they're currently seeing and come back to Korekiyo and they'd respond "Oh were you giving something to *name*?")). Idk this just made me not like Korekiyo for a while after they broke ties with me.

TL;DR: Making a discord server. Reblog/reply, I'm taking suggestions for what to put in it to make it cool to hang out in.

Y'know, I don't think Twitch Streaming is for me.

I kinda wanna have an open channel for people to talk with while I'm working or playing something, which twitch works for, but I also don't want to feel pressured to be interesting, which I do every time I turn on twitch :/

I may have found a solution, though. I was lamenting this with a friend of mine and they said that their friend group just has a discord channel where they'll share their screens when they're working on stuff and people can join on and watch and chat if they want to or have them pulled up on another monitor while they do stuff too. Or sometimes people will just drop in and chat without watching, too.

I like that idea. I'm thinking I'll try to set up a discord and stream when I'm doing stuff on there. I may still have it on Twitch as well while im on Discord, but I'm likely going to focus less on "making content" so much as just hanging out and chatting with people. Because yeah, making content is fun and all, but I tend to be funnier and more entertaining when I'm not trying to be funny or entertaining. In fact, I've got a ton of folders from me playing stuff with friends where I just hit the record button when I launched the game and then forgot about it, and some of that is great!

So, maybe that strategy will work with streaming as well? Just start up a stream on Discord, press record, and start doing stuff. Then the entertaining will happen, and I can edit it into a video. Either way, currently watching a tutorial on how to make a good discord server now, will keep you all updated.

If this goes through and I do end up getting one made, is there anything you guys want in a discord server? Like specific channels or emotes or whatever? I'm making this less as a quote on quote "skitariiposting official server" and more as a public hangout space that happens to be run by skitposting tumblr guy, so I'm not going to make it me themed. I'm definitely going to have miniature painting channels, tho. That's like step two after making a memes channel.

Fic Writing Habits

thank you to the wipbigbang reblog of pennywaltzy's questions for this fun game:

Keyboard or notebook? keyboard, basically always. putting things down on paper and being unable to easily shift the words around is maddening.

Beta or no beta? no beta. rarely beta, i should say. beta under very specific circumstances if i'm trying something very new or if i feel the need to double-check the vibes with a friend before i post a fic. otherwise i edit proofread my own stuff, often in a chaotic mishmash of editing as i write.

Plotting methods? usually i word-vomit my ideas in a discord channel or an empty document until i have a rough idea of where i'm taking the story or something that constitutes an outline. but occasionally i forego this and don't plot at all, and even more occasionally i outline scene by scene but those are very special circumstances indeed.

Smushy or smutty? ¿Por qué no los dos?

Summaries/titles? all over the place. sometimes i write a legit summary, sometimes i try to go for a hook, sometimes i just use a pull quote or the line it starts with. titles are almost always song lyrics of some kind, mostly songs i feel match the vibe of the story or even guided my writing of it in some cases, but also frequently lyrics that are just fun to say. sometimes it's just random words, though, or a really fun title will occur to me while i'm writing, etc.

Funniest fic? funniest to me is probably Wish You Were Here (ye baiyi sulking about not being texted back) which i cracked myself up by writing and still cackle when i reread, but my more popular crack fic is definitely Glitter & Gold (jing beiyuan taking wen kexing clubbing) which i do also enjoy.

Most popular fic? Break, if you go by kudos, which is one of the first fics i wrote for the untamed (very jiang cheng centric, yunmeng shuangjie reconciliation feels). if you go by the raw enthusiasm, it's Qiuth by far (my pern-untamed crossover).

Most fun to write? i have 121 works so this is almost impossible to answer. but recently i had just SO much fun with this little gu xiang ficlet i wrote for lny mini ficlet fest, and i still highkey want to make it a longer fic someday when some other projects are off my plate.

Most underrated? oh, i don't know. i don't feel like i pay much attention to what doesn't get noticed. how about this one: A Sweet Tide. a little du pusa/liu qianqiao thing i wrote last summer that i actually find quite compelling and enjoy rereading myself.

Strengths? figuring out plot and ironing out issues with it. also, proofreading.

Weaknesses? actually fucking finishing my fics. i start so many, and i plot out/idea vomit even more.

Dirty little secrets? i'm having trouble actually thinking of anything and honestly the song just keeps blasting on repeat in my head now which isn't helping

I tried to explain that our mutual friend would never say that to her kid and that she was in a safe space to express her dissapointment in her personal achievements but my friends argument was, and I quote, "also like you decided to get married this year, and to word it as a "wasted year" idk i feel like would kinda sting" like hey babe... she's saying this away from her kids and away from her wife AND ITS NOT ABOUT EITHER OF THOSE TOPICS ITS ABOUT SCHOOLING like am I crazy for thinking u can be dissapointed in urself for one aspect of ur life but good about another??? crazy to call her "disrespectful" for venting in the venting channel of a discord

example 2: she saw an ad for a chest freezer that was converted to be an ice bath. she sent it to us like "this is insane" and I was like "oh haha ppl love ice baths look at this girl on tiktok who does them and even made a safe version for her kid" and her response was, and I quote, "idc if ppl are taking ice baths, that's some dumb shit. There’s a reason it was a thing to teach kids NOT to climb into a freezer" like okay?? this isn't child neglect. she's not putting her kid in an actual ice bath. WHAT. like her thing is that it's fucking stupid of that woman to show herself getting into an ice bath with a lid to her kid cuz the kid is gonna climb in and die. babe there's probably a MILLION safety precautions this woman takes to make sure her kid can't do that she's not inherently dumb for not paying a premium for a specially made ice bath when she can just convert a freezer.

like idk I love this friend but she gets so passionate about calling people out for being dumb or mean or whatever and sometimes I feel like she goes too far but will NEVER admit she's done so. it's annoying.

Took me a few days to get my shit together. I have some things to add. Apologies but I will be rather explicit.

I'm going to make it clear right away that I don't think anyone here is a groomer. Caitie and Apex seem like they want to care about these underage friends of theirs, genuinely. Which is the only thing keeping me from calling them creeps. Moving on.

For context, I was in a private server run by Caitie for a while. As far as I know, the same minors in the RP server were also in this one. Which is relevant, because I'm here say that this sexual talk didn't stop at the RP server. I noticed it in Caitie's server too. Here's some of what I saw:

I wouldn't ordinarily judge Apex for saying things like "Wander has his triangle by his dick because he's HOOORNYYY". But when there's minors in the server? I have to judge at that point. When you say things like "the W in Wander stands for whore" DIRECTLY TO a minor? Now I'm judgemental. Apex, if you want to talk about "Night Swan's delicious thighs", talk about it in a server with people your own age. People under 18 are not your fucking age.

Hell, if you're gonna run a server with minors in it, maybe don't have an unrestricted "jd-simp" channel. Maybe don't talk about Night Swan and Si'ha Nova being milfs in said unrestricted "jd-simp" channel. It tells me you don't actually give a fuck about what you might expose these minors to. It also tells me you have no interest in setting a proper precedent.

I wouldn't usually bat an eye at Caitie and her romantic partner having a channel in Caitie's server dedicated to their "Cecilynn" ship, where they at one point openly talked about putting their faces in each other's boobs. I think it's time for me to elaborate on what I was saying the other day.

These two people that this post is about are Caitlynnrosespn and Apexious - I have over a fucking hundred screenshots of the two of them being inappropriate with minors. Mostly through RPs. And yet, I've spent the past few months being scared of them. But not anymore.

They like long tumblr callout posts so much? Okie dokie, I'll give them one.

When you're 18, you're not a kid anymore. You know that. Which means that you can't just do fetish themed RPs with 15 year olds and get away with it. If you're repeatedly JOKING about the "degeneracy" or laughing about how inappropriate it is, then you KNOW it's bad, and yet you're still doing it.

The fact that the minors said they weren't bothered by it isn't an excuse either. I assure you, if YOU saw this happening from someone else doing it, you'd be calling the FBI, the CIA, the CDC, the army, the navy, the swat team…but it's you and you're "mom" so it's okay? I have my doubts you'd accept "the minors weren't bothered by it" from ANYONE else, just as you would be horrified to hear it if someone else told you they'd been PRIVATELY COORDINATING said sex rps IN MINORS' DMS. Privately coordinating it ahead of time makes it worse because that means you were planning it, it wasn't just a dumb thoughtless remark in the heat of the moment (which wouldn't be okay either, but still!).

These RPs would bring up things like dog collars and aprodisiacs and being so loud during sex that "Selios" could hear and moaning and biting and deities having mating seasons and ungodly things with forks that I think I'm going to cry if I have to repeat.

But I get it. ONE of the minors is almost 18. That's why you threw him under the bus when you were called out for your behavior and gave him a large part of the blame for it, when YOU the (adult) server owners could've and should've said "no", and that's why you let it go on for MONTHS. Right?

To the people that this post is about: I dare you to respond to this in a way that doesn't bring up "but what about [insert random thing that I or someone else did here]?" or "but I'm going through such a hard time!". Because guess what? I'm going through a hard time too. I have a condition that makes my jaw shift painfully every day and I've just had to file a fraud report on both my debit and my credit card so I currently have no accessible money. You're not the only one going through a hard time.

And I don't want you to to send a minor to fight your battles for you either. I want to see you respond to this in a way that's ACTUALLY an apology and not the half-apologizing "I've said it won't happen again and apologized" "if you want me to go back and erase it from ever happening, find me a time machine and I'll do it" (exact words).

I could go on about how you also spread gossip and spread hate, but you did SO much talking behind peoples' backs including about minors that there are some people who don't even KNOW you said "fuck [them]", and this isn't exactly how I want them to find out. Really, I can't say half the things I want to say for the sake of peoples' privacy.

Caitlynnrosespn, Apexious, you don't EVER get to pretend like you're better than anyone else when these are the things you do. I am NOT saying you're creeps/predators so don't you dare try and deflect with that, but you need to show some real responsibility here. You are not the victims. I know you're only 18/19, but you need to be better. What kind of example is this setting? I believe you can be better, but only if you take some real responsibility. I tried doing this privately and it didn't go over so well, so you get it here.

To the affected minors, I'm sorry because I know you probably won't understand why I'm saying this/doing this to the people you see as your friends. And I can't make you understand it, and I won't argue with the way you feel right now.

So it’s zine season, and I’m listening to night vale and am just brought to tears by the joy of passionate creation and fun. And I have an idea I would like to do, a solo project or a smaller team kinda thing. And I’m not in this for making a profit it would just be more cost of production kinda thing. But I am terrified of the entire process bc it’s gonna take a while to Write itself. And I would probably put in ao3 too bc the ability to comment would be bigger there and nice bc it’s a very engagement dependent piece of writing. But if I ever get the courage to make it physical (bc I’ve wanted to write books since I was a kid and idk if I’ll ever create original worlds that are good enough but I know fanfic is such a joy for me that if I never do original work this would be enough)

So I'm going to preface this by saying I don't have any experience on the production side of things at all. I've watched from the outside and as a head mod of a zine that's just getting started (as well as someone who is interested in making their own merch), I've done a decent amount of research. That doesn't necessarily translate into reality though, so take all of this with a grain of salt.

From what I've heard from friends and also from zine servers I'm in, small projects, especially solo projects, are easier to print at local print shops or chains like Staples or whatever. I don't have a ton of links to resources on this but I would recommend calling and getting quotes. You probably won't need huge amounts of product if it's going to be just a small thing, and you definitely want to not spend a lot of money.

I would recommend familiarity with a program like InDesign for formatting professionally. The print shop might be able to give you templates to help you account for margins and bleed, which will be the most important parts of your layout. You can also definitely keep it simple for a personal project, probably, with just regular Word documents or whatever and the print shop can help you, but if you wanted to use this as a basis for creating zines in the future it might be a good learning experience to dip your toe in!

I'm going to break this down as best as I can for you, but if you've got the time or are looking for something to listen to while working (like I do), I highly recommend the deep dive by the youtuber Swoop. It goes into ALL of it.

Short answer: YES. She very much deserves the backlash she's getting. To be honest, she deserves a lot worse in terms of legal trouble and she should be banned. Not kidding.

So, it started because she called out a legal channel called Legal Eagle, claiming that they are plagerizing her editing style. Her edits that she says they stole? A fucking highlight over text effect and one of those edits where it makes the image look like torn paper coming together. Super common and nobody owns that. It's like claiming you own copyright to the dictionary.

Well, Legal Eagle politely responded telling her this. Then several other youtubers pointed out (with evidence) times where SHE plagerized actual dialog in her videos (she whole cloth quoted a documentary but made it sound like she wrote it, which is plagerism, albeit a miscited source variety).

This then led to several other youtubers who worked with her calling her out for how she behaved toward them when they worked together, among a few other things.

This led to Blair (aka iilluminaughtii) creating a 45 minute video (which is still up) where she made it seem like she was apologizing (and she did apologize to legal eagle, but pretty much blew off the accusations of plagerism). The remainder of the video was her trashing her former collaborators. Completely lying about them and actually claiming serious shit (which was all untrue). Such major ones include: claiming that one of them was a pedo enabler, claiming that another one was a lazy pet owner who disrespected her house and wasn't a good worker (which is why she fired him), POSTING SAID FORMER EMPLOYEES SUICIDE NOTE ON HER VIDEO, and admitting that she called the cops on him but made it sound like said potentially suicidal former friend/ex employee was going to harm her... and that's just part of it.

Once that came out, the former collaborators she said these things about made videos of their own with evidence of how she actually treated them. The friend she accused of being a pedo enabler? Yeah what actually happened was there was a creepy guy on his discord server talking about pedo-type behavior. Said individual was quickly banned by the friend's mods. Why didn't the friend block them himself? Well it was 3am in the country he lives in (he's not from the US) and he was asleep. She twisted thar whole thing into something it wasn't. He also ended up showing definitive proof that she was harassing them, spreading lies about them, and harassing his friends and family via sock/alternate accounts. Yep, she's gone Creepshow Art territory, now, but it gets worse.

The former employee? Oh she convinced him to move to Colorado (from Texas), stay with her until he could move into a house she was building and she'd be his landlord, hired him on to her company, and convinced him to enter a rent-to-own agreement where she (a nearly 30 y/o woman at the time) convinced a 20 y/o to sign on for a $60k BMW. Effectively, she was his boss, his landlord, and his car loan. She then fired him after 60 days, claiming he didn't meet deadlines or complete any work... except she hardly gave him any work, and when he was still within a deadline and he literally flew back to Texas to go get his computer (his previous one died) in order to meet the deadline, she fired him. The former friend also claims that she would regularly verbally abuse him, constantly tell him things like how he's so less than compared to her channel, etc. It got so bad, his therapist recommended he leave the house. So he lived in that BMW. While in the process of returning the car to Blair and trying to get her to show him the cars contract so he knew how much he needed to pay toward the car, she repo'd it with all of his possessions that he had in it (which she never gave back, never allowed him to retrieve and later threw away, including his skateboard, a computer, and his YouTube play button). She effectively made him completely homeless with no warning and no showing him his contract for the car. This was around the time the former friend was feeling suicidal ideation. He was able to talk with his therapist about it and get away from that thought processes, but during that time, Blair basically swatted him (sending the police under false pretenses). Oh and it also turns out that her dog would regularly hurt his dog and that showed various different pieces of evidence showing how he's taken care of his dog (he's an excellent dog owner, not at all lazy).

This has all been corroborated by them and in the meantime, other people who worked with her in previous years came forward with their experiences. And a lot of it also came from Swoop's deep dive, as she also had an interview with Blair's ex. She was verbally and emotionally abusive to him. There are recordings of her that are absolutely vile. Like the former friend, she also got her ex to move states away from his support network. And also like the former friend, she also weaponized his mental health struggles and suicidal ideation struggles.

There's a whole lot more to this, but it all shows that she's absolutely vile. She's been shown to also be a complete hypocrite. She does all these deep dives into shady businesses and business practices and guess what? She uses many of those same practices.

And you wanna know what she's doing now? Continuing to churn out her usual content like nothing's changed and threatening to sue the former friend, demanding both a public apology and that he take the video down. And she claims it's because of the NDA she had him under (which won't help her and may or may not be legally binding). She's trying to bully him and the others who have come forward into silence.

She isn't just mean or petty or just someone who made an error in judgement. She's absolutely a vile abuser and an unethical businesswoman and a dishonest documentarian. And she's been doing it for years.

That's why she's bleeding subscribers and almost 85%-95% of the comments on her videos are people just pointing out how she can't act like nothing happened and just calling her out (with the other 5%-15% being found to likely be her own alt accounts). As Swoop in her deep dive said, "it isn't drama, it's dangerous".

This is seriously just the cliffnotes and it's still on-going, but I can't stress enough how NOT you're average petty internet drama. This seriously is dangerous and vile behavior that could very well have legal and even (possibly) criminal consequences. Hope it helps give you an idea, tho.

I need someone to give me the context of the illuminaughtii drama as well as the latest updates and tell me is she really as bad as the hate suggests or does the internet just love an excuse to tear down a female content creator because I have enjoyed her channel this is a serious question there are no articles for this

Exposing lies in Canonseeker's anti-Fixing RWBY blog.

Below this link to Canonseeker's blog is a revised repost of my qoute reblog before I was blocked. Despite Canonseeker being made explicitly aware of the very real problems in their blog, they refuse to edit it and have covered it up with reblogs and deletion of messages.

So a lot of these “points” about the Fixing RWBY show are blatantly false, and I’m going to show that with evidence from both the rewrite and the canon RWBY. I won’t be talking about the points that came down to: “this was changed/added and I personally don’t like it so it’s bad,” (which is most of them) as all that is entirely subjective and best saved for direct discussion.

I also noticed that repeats of the exact same points and the FRWBY crew’s own opinions outside of the quality of the rewrite were used to artificially increase the point number, which just comes off as desperate. But anyway here are the points and evidence in no particular order.

"Apparently the artists on the project do not get paid. They work for “exposure”.

False. The artist's VOLUNTEERED for Fixing RWBY because they're interested and enjoy supporting. They were not promised exposure nor is that what they were seeking. Here's it straight from one of the artists themselves.

"Raymond meanwhile repeatedly insults CRWBY and calls himself superior, while claiming that Miles and Kerry deserve no respect from him. Apparently, according to their discord and their youtube channel, loving and respecting RWBY proper makes you a “toxic simp”

Lumping the two of these together because they fall under the same "Phoenix hates everything about canon RWBY" propaganda Canonseeker and their friends are trying to push.

Now unless you think giving criticism AND praise to CRWBY writers is Phoenix saying that they "deserve no respect" from him, than this is another blatant lie.

As for the claim that Phoenix & crew feel that if you enjoy canon RWBY you're a "toxic simp," it REALLY should go without saying that the amount of time and effort the entire team put into Fixing RWBY shows how much they love the show, but here's the words straight from Phoenix once again.

Yes because she is and CRWBY agrees, so this shouldn't be a "problem" directed at one of the FRWBY artist's for stating a canon fact.

Here’s a fun challenge for everyone, starting from Fixing RWBY Part 3, (skip the History, Lore and Response videos in the playlist below) scrub through all of the episodes and see how many times Roman shows up compared to the RWBY girls.

Spoiler for the result: Roman is NOT shown more times than the all the RWBY protagonists, not even close. Neither Roman nor any other male characters get an "excessive" amount of screen time compared to the female characters like Canonseeker claimed. And this would be very obvious to anyone that actually watches the series all the way through.

Fixing RWBY hasnt even reached Volume 6 yet...it JUST wrapped up Volume 5..(check the playlist).. once again another blatant lie.

Now as you can see, Canonseeker’s (ironic name) blog is just downright unreliable. They didn’t watch Fixing RWBY, they just either based it entirely on word of mouth from people like the ones they thanked at the end of their blog, or they did watch all of them and just intentionally lied to slander Fixing RWBY. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the latter given the discussions I’ve had with them directly.

Like I said at the start, I didn’t even talk about most of the things in Canonseekers's blog as I just wanted to expose their notable lies and double standards that can’t be argued one way or the other whatsoever. And trust me, I (and I’m sure a ton of others) have LOTS to say about those other warped and out of context takes, but I’ll just take that to the comments. I just wanted to get this out quickly as to not let something so maliciously dishonest stand on it’s own.

Everyone involved with this should be ashamed to have let this slide, and I highly recommend you make a new one without all the lies Canonseeker.

Remember, it’s perfectly fine to not like Fixing RWBY and express that, but it’s something else entirely to intentionally LIE about it just because YOU don’t like it and don’t want others to watch and like it either.

Today is the second anniversary of the Webcomic Review Discord Server, and I was working on a speech, but one of my mods (My only one, PeriPapaya) had a better once so I’ll just quote hers for easy content.

HAPPY 2ND SERVER-VERSARY, EVERYONE! Two years ago on this day, March 31st, a man with a blog for talking about webcomics decided that what he really needed was a server where he could talk about his blog for talking about webcomics. And thus was born: The Webcomics Review Discord Server! . 

And what a wild two years it has been since then! In that time, we have grown to nearly 150 members all around the world and sent over 325,000 messages across 52 channels. Amidst all that, we've talked comics and media , helped each other workshop creative projects, perpetrated plentiful pun wars, streamed movies together, played D&D, and even done a little screaming into the abyss. 

Let's take a moment to celebrate our creative achievements as well! Take a gander down art-corner and self-promotion and see just how many incredible things you all drawn, written, composed, mashed-up, etc. We've seen the continuation and launch of numerous webcomics by our very own members (go read them in your-comics !) As a community, we've drawn collaborative art challenges, written whacky stories for Wassy Wapose, started developing a video game, told collaborative narratives through table top games, and more! However, as incredible as all that is, I would argue that the most amazing thing we've made together is... a COMMUNITY. The world has had its shares of ups and downs (and more downs) over the past two years, and throughout it all this server has been a warm and welcome place to hang out, make some friends, and remember all the things that are still good in life. And that's only possible because of each and every one of you. 

So let me say it now, loud and clear.... THANK YOU! Thank you for being a part of this server! Thank you for wit and your kindness, thank you for laughing together when times were good, and for building each other back up when times were hard. Thank you for making our small corner of the internet the best corner of the internet.
