I just gotta say something

I love you people who infodump

Fr tho I always worried about whether I was infodumping my friends, and would work hard to restrain myself bc I didn’t want to be a bother.. i always thought it would be annoying but tonight i worked a slow shift with only one other person. Apparently he really likes motorcycles motorcycles (engines are a particular interest) and he plays band.

He:

-Talked for 3 hours straight about motorcycles, how they work, the different brands, what they do, and drew a whole diagram on a notepad to help explain each part of the engine and how it all connects

-Talked for another 2 hours about concert and jazz pieces, playing them through the shop, and excitedly pointed out parts that were hard or fun to do. Ofc he also touched on different instruments and how tricky playing the trumpet is (esp when its canon in D)

I loved it

All i had to do was ask a question or make some statement about a detail and he would go on a whole ‘nother tangent! I was entertained for the entire shift!

So, I guess this is just to say that to all you infodumpers out there: there is somebody who will wholeheartedly enjoy your words. Dont be afraid to talk! If they dont like it then they can let you know… but as for me, i think i’ll risk annoying someone if the alternative is depriving them of a talk that makes their day :)
