Funny you say that bc yoink the identity is also a dark sbi au!! Kinda. Its actually just more of a horror au if anything (but also yeah a couple of the aus there have got dark elements i cant remember which tho my memory of them only activates when i focus on one)

anyhow that wip is about a shapeshifter au in which wilbur and Phil are supposed to have their weekly dinner night together, but then Wil gets a call with Phil panicking and screaming on the other end, telling him to rush over to his apartment. Wilbur goes over thinking something horrible happened, but when he gets there Phil has no idea what Wil is talking about with the phone call and he seems entirely fine.

They kinda go on with their dinner night but Phil keeps really odd, not quite getting details in the conversation right, seeming lost in his own house, ect. Wilbur ends up hearing a weird noise and sneaks off to investigate to find actual Phil locked in a closet.

To where he then realizes he was not talking with the real Phil and something is seriously fucked up here. They both sneak around the apartment trying to avoid the not Phil thing, who realizes actual Phil got out and starts to try to lure them out by mimicking their voices (it keeps calling for Phil in wilburs voice, “Phil? Phil, whered you go?” And then it switches to Phils voice screaming for help, which makes Wilbur just keep looking at real Phil desperately trying to reassure himself the noise isnt real)

They end up escaping the apartment and calling Techno, their mutual buddy, for help, but then the shapeshifter starts following them outside and they’re running across the empty streets in the middle of the night to try and lose it. Techno eventually finds them and nearly runs them over, and then proceeds to try purposely running the shapeshifter over upon seeing it come around the corner, looking like Phil but with everything about him seeming just Wrong. (Eyes glinting too hard, his walk stumbling too much, the voice from his mouth still being Wilburs-) so sbi is in the car now. Techno hits the thing with his car. They check to see if they killed it, and they watch as the shapeshifter tries to then turn into a kid, but still clinging onto Phils features, so then it just looks like a kid version of Phil (tommy!! Yays)

Its then crying about getting hit with a car and mimicking all their voices interchangeably to ask for help, and Techno is about to get back in the car to run it over a second time!! Only for Phil to stop him bc he wants to know what the heck the shapeshifter is even trying to do. Here is where i lose the plot a bit but i think from there on it would be cool for the three of them to argue amongst themselves over if they should be pitying a monster thing, not noticing Tommy getting closer until he’s right next to them and he’s taken Technos form and voice to try and join their conversation. This somehow results in them realizing he’s really not that harmful. Family dynamics

The thing is “Tommy” is meant to be a very naive type of shapeshifter who doesnt really have a grasp on humans, and he took Phils place first bc he heard about the dinner and he wanted to meet Wil. And then he sees Techno and how Phil and Wilbur talk with him and thats why he turns into a Techno. He also turns young when hes hurt bc he recognizes that humans treat their young gently. Its a neat concept! Alas its also a wip. I have no idea where the family dynamics will form but by god theyre gonna be somewhere

Also its called yoink the identity bc obviously tommy shapeshifter took phils place for a second there haha

BUHGPOSTING ≈ Posts that I affiliate myself with, want to share, enjoy, or otherwise believe to be relevant. May or may not accompany other tags such as "utmost importance", but I tend to use it for lighthearted things/reblogs/et cetera.

BUHGGYTALK ≈ A tag for when my posts, or my tagging of a post, contain my direct yapping. This may also be used when I reblog a post that has something i'd like to say, but haven't.

BUHGGYVENT ≈ Venting tag, as you may be able to tell. You may hide this if you want — preferrably, if that's okay to request. I will rarely vent, because i hate speaking of anything negative I feel. See this as cries into the echo, please do not feel pressured to answer it/react to it or interact with it at all.

THE HECKERER ≈ Anything that reminds me of my beloved. from terms, to textposts, literally anything. More of a "ITS HIM!!! (?)" tag, may also be used if they show up in my blog personally.

HECKERCORE ≈ A more lighthearted, silly tag, for anything that reminds me of his "—core". For example, labels with technology, personal references, and much more. May be more of a "superficial" tag, compared to "the heckerer".

GO TEAM HEHA ≈ A tag specifically made for us as a couple, which may be used for: ships that are "us" (not in the delusional sense, just "omg theyre just like us fr), posts that fit both of us at the same time, terms that are both of us separately and/or as a couple, et cetera. This one is very silly, and also very personal — it is a reference to "Go Team Venture", from "The Venture Bros", which we are autistic about.

ARTHROPOOMFS ≈ A silly tag for my mutuals and anyone who I (humbly) consider myself to be in good terms with. May also be used for people I care about, and are in my Tumblr galaxy/circle. A very "buddy" coded tag! The "oomf" is not "one of my followers"/"one of my friends", and moreso the silly phonetics of the shortened term, "oumph".

AWESOMESTS ≈ For people who I particularly admire or otherwise think are cool. This tag is mainly like "woaw ur so pawesome!! jam on!!!", and is not meant to idolize or worship anyone. Its like a silly little badge handmade by me — this may also be used for blogs with gimmicks/dynamics/themes I enjoy.

@ USERNAME / @ (EMOJI [ANON]) ≈ Search WITHOUT the space!! Something (which wasn't added until later on in this blog, and is kinda wonky) for specific users. Will mainly be used for interactions or miscellaneous — coining posts are likely to be exempt, UNLESS the tag is used to signify that the coining post reminded me of that person. For example, I may tag @ lunentity in posts about the moon, or @ gengernoway in posts with silly critters in them.

CHESIRE EMPIRE ≈ This onr is for all things related to disabilities, mental illness/conditions, as well as symptoms and much more. I also use this for anything that may be potentially linked to my/one's disabilities/conditions/illness/symptoms, but in a lighthearted fashion. Some terms with scary themes are an example of this; namely, disreality and horror. Make sure to use filters so my posts are safe for you to view, in case you are easily paranoid.

UTMOST IMPORTANCE ≈ Posts that I consider to have heightened relevance. He/She Eight forever and always ^-^ people (including herself) default to she/her but she doesnt mind! Either prns are fine any time. Also doesnt label her sexuality he's just balling

Aside from all the sanitized kamabo bullshit i think hitting her head after the fight with agent 3 actually did give her some Lasting Brain Damage, and she has problems with forgetting things. Her and Agent 4's apartment is PLASTERED with sticky note reminders, even for stuff like "close the fridge" "turn off the stove" because she WILL forget to do that part

Agent 4 made her a little cookbook that step-by-step tells her how to make her favorite foods with those menial reminders to turn stuff on and off and close doors

AND she and Agent 4 have made what they call Eight's Brain Board, whoch is a crime board style corkboard that lays out all her memories and how they relate to each other just in case she forgets again. Proudly on display in their room

Likes wood-and-metalworking just to make little trinkets, most of the time Octivus or Squidmas gifts. The definition of Hobby On The Side that keeps her hands sharp. The first one she made on the surface was a little Salmonid keychain she gifted to Agent 4 ^-^

Still writes poetry too. She doesnt mean for it to be 8-8-8 syllables they literally just. Happen like that. She'll write a poem about literally anything. she wrote one about Agent 4's freckles

I know Donny is the shopkeeper in-game but Eight is the actual store manager for the Ammo Knights in Inkopolis Square. Sheldon hired her before he moved to Splatsville and she proved to be a VERY good employee so he let her take over the store

She and Sheldon often have friendly races between who can take apart and put a weapon back together the quickest. Eight's record is less than 2 minutes for a Hydra Splatling

Eight takes her job SUPER seriously and absolutely Will Not Budge on anything like prices or weapon availability. No "i left my ID at home" or "i'm basically level 10 cant i just have that one" she does NOT care. Rules are rules and by jove she will not only follow but she WILL enforce them

^ that being said she also HATES Grizzco. She doesnt like their shady vibe and has heard many horror stories about the actual work from Agent 4 (who works there to pay off his student loans) and she really really REALLY despises how they illegally modify weapons for golden rotations. Every time she finds a modified weapon she instantly confiscates and dismantles it. It's like a spit in the face to her entire career and she will not stand for it

Very good with teenagers! Mostly bc thats the majority of who comes into the shop. She loves hearing about their battle tales and has been jotting down little plotlines that unfold in her store (like a kid trying a new weapon to impress their crush, or someone climbing up the ranks in Clam Blitz, that type thing)

She has a reputation for being super nice to everyone but really its because she just has a really long fuse. It takes a LOT to get her mad

Charger main! She's amazing with any charger you put in front of her and she's an absolute MENACE in an inkbattle. Her favorites change but "you can never go wrong with a good and standard Splat Charger"

Her favorite battle mode is Tower Control!

She also Is crushing on Cap3 but she will literally never make a move. Partly bc they live across the ocean in splatsville now but also It's Agent 3. The Legendary Agent 3. Theyre Too Cool For Me (Agent 4 has been trying to wingman them together ever since they started hanging out. the pining is mutual theyre both just flustered. Hes suffering)

Idol relationships!!!!!!! Since she is genuinely good friends with Agent 3 she's frienda by proxy with the squid sisters. They dont really have a lot in common and dont hang out much but she and Marie like being menaces in inkbattles together because theyre both cracked with a Charger and love causing problems. Imagine 2 E-Liters on the Brinewater ledge. Hell. She finds it easy to chat with Callie and they'll talk about literally anything. Callie just has that effect on people i think

She sees Pearl and Marina as cousins, partly bc Pearl started calling her Cousin as a nickname but they really are like family. She lived with them for a solid month learning the language and etiquitte before they couldnt put off their Idol Jobs any longer, which is when she started living with Agent 4. They check in with each other every day and fuckig. LOVE EACH OTHER. She always gets front row tickets to their shows

Has only met Deep Cut very very briefly while being a roadie for OTH's world tour. They indimidate her but she'll take Marina's word that Big Man is chill at least. She's also heard good things about their heroism in Alterna from Cap3 so at the moment theyre vaguely Okay in her book

Also besties with Acht ^-^ initially bonding over Side Order bullshit but she finds their practical blunt nature to be really refreshing and calming. They mostly parallel-play when they hang out together. Like cats. She really likes their new music (can't listen to any Kamabo songs without feeling Bad after :( trauma and all. Acht respects this)

Shelly and Donny absolutely LOVE HER. She always entertains their kiddie ramblings and helps them out if they need a hand at their store, and theyre always welcome to work at her store if theirs is slow and they want something to do. She teaches them more about the weapons in a hands-on way so they have more to tell the customers rather than just parroting Sheldon

Speaking of, she's also great friends with Sheldon! Technically he's her boss but hes a very chill boss and she's been invited to family gatglherings outside of work and such. A good friend to the Shellendorf family!

"Hey eight how are you so cheerful all the time you have a very busy job and lots of friends to keep up with! Whats your secret!" Shes literally just in love with life. Thats it. After dealing with so much shit underground and nearly losing everything in Kamabo she has a huge appreciation for life itself. She relishes in the good and accepts the bad because at least she has a choice to experience it all. That being said can trauma responses go away she doesnt quite like those

The reason shes so good with Chargers is actually because she was training under a Special Forces unit in the Octarian Army

She was known in her class for being super smart and quick on her feet but she just CANT build up any muscle mass, and the wasabi supply unit were already thinking of allowing Certain Octolings to use Chargers and Splatlings without being Octocommanders or Octosnipers, so they decided to guinea pig her with a Charger along with a smattering of other similar Octolings

She became like. SUPER good at using Chargers and a lot of her peers would call her The Next Marina because she surprised everyone with how cracked she was at like everything they threw at her. She never liked this comprison due to wanting to just Be Herself

She was also known for being extremely caring and empathetic, which landed her in hot water for speaking out against the way she and her fellow colleagues were treated as faceless soldiers, and wondered if plotting against the Inklings was even worth it st this point. She famously got in MASSIVE trouble for insinuating that they let The Great Zapfish go and was in Detention/Jail for like a While and nearly lost all her progress climbing up the ranks

Alsooooooo :3 in my personal canon she was part of the squad to escort Callie into Octo Canyon. It was her first time ever on the surface and once she got a taste for the real sun she needed more of it

(I know Octo Expansion is likely happening the same time as Splat2 Hero Mode but it makes sense for my canon for it to happen After)

Also she's 18 st the start of Octo Expansion just to tie back into the whole 8 thing they had going on

The whole hypnoshade thing was also thrust on Callie as a surprise and like. It's not fun to be Surprise Brainwashed so of course she fought back before the hypnoshades took effect. Eight still has a scar on her shoulder from where Callie dug her nails in. That experience was also the final nail in the "i gotta get out of here" coffin

Even though she had made up her mind to run away to the surface, it still really hurt to leave her life behind. She had real friends and even something romantic going on with someone special, as well as having actual good standings in the army with a bright future ahead of her, but the surface was more worth it in her eyes. being able to have her own life instead of one she was forced into was so appealing. Her friends think she's selfish and definitely resent her now (even though theyre fuzzed and barely remember her in turn)

Oh and also her name used to be Maia Idachi :3 but since she doesnt know her old name she can't find her file in Cap'n Cuttlefish's dossier. She doesn't want to go by facial recognition in case she mistakes her fime for someone else's and remembers something that never happened to her yknow (got Maia from amai, the japanese word to describe something sweet to tie into her being caring and empathetic, and Idachi from Idako which is the word for a species of Octopus)

you knew josh first, having met him and his friends in middle school thanks to being on the same soccer team as sam and beth.

when you met josh you thought he was a bit weird becuase of him being rather...eccentric, but he quickly warmed up to you when he saw how well you got along with his sister. after that it was all long laughs and numerous hangouts.

eventually your fondness for each other develops into a mutual crush on the other, but you both dont want to ruin what you have so it remains unsaid.

eventually the time for the annual blackwood pines trip comes along and you (and your entire friend group at this point) are hoping josh will make a move or youll have to.

but things were differnt this year with the new addition to the friend group in the form of matt taylor, resident jock next door.

you had seen him around school before, never really talking to him minus the few interactions when hed ask you for help on a question in english and you to him in math.

now he and mike were both on the football team, so he introduced him to everyone and josh said he could tag along on the trip after knowing him for a few months.

you had to admit that he was super cute, not just in the face but in his actions as well. deapite starting to become close friends with nearly everyone, he still was a bit reserved and polite, mostly keeping to himself, mike, josh, jess, and you.

on the way up to the lodge you walked beside him, succesfully getting him to open up to you and start talking more about himself and his interests, finding you have more in common than you thought.

the fleeting moments you have with him during the trip make you confused, you still have strong feelings for josh but being around matt makes your heart flutter...

when you tell jess this one night in your room she says "maybe you just like both of them" like its the easiest thing in the world.

you know shes right, but you dont know what to do. do you just go up to the both of them and ask if theyre ok all dating???

you stew over this until the next morning, finding most of your friends gone and only a sticky note left on the fridge saying "(wo)man up". great.

while fixing yourself up some breakfast, josh and matt both join you after coming from upstairs. they ask where everyone is, following the direction of your pointed eyes to the note, josh laughing and matt looking bewildered.

"what does...what do you think it means?" he asks, reverting back to his shy state and looking between you and josh.

josh laughs, shaking his head. "it means they want me and yn to ask each other out already."

his words shock you, causing you to hit him with a handtowel, making him yelp. "youre telling me you already knew i liked you!? and you like me and still havent done anything!? oh youre such an asshole..."

"hey! i just didnt wanna rush it and mess anything up, besides i thought you were still getting over your oh so dramatic breakup with tyler-"

"oh dont act like you didnt know i was only dating him to make you jealous-"

"wait...you two...already like each other?"

the sound of matts quiet voice boots the two of you from your unserious argument, turning to look at the brown skinned boy who looks so dejected it makes your heart ache.

"i just thought that with all those conversations we had when staying up together that we... you know what, nevermind." he starts to turn away out of embarrassment before both you and josh grab his arms, pulling him back to you.

he looks surprised, his mouth moving to start asking what youre doing before you cut him off.

"matt, i have had feelings for josh for a long time now, yes. but i can also say this trip made me see you in a different light. youre...sweet and caring, and i know i have feelings for you as well. i know its..not the most normal situation in the world, but i know that i want to be with the both of you."

josh and matt are quiet for a few moments, which definitely doesnt help your nerves. but a smile is put on your face when josh wraps his arms around the both of you, pulling you both in for a hug.

"dont worry, i like you guys too. pretty easy since youre both so cute." he teases, making matt giggle with you.

matt relaxes, hugging the both of you tighter. "yeah. yeah, i think we can make this work."

and so there the three of you stood, in the kitchen of this giant, cold lodge all locked in embrace.

but in your head, you think youve never felt warmer.

do you know any blogs that are into platonic madwheeler? i just found a clip in s4 of them whispering together that i had never seen before and wondered if anyone had seen it or wanted to discuss! i think the reveal of mike's story in s5 might have some max involved somehow, perhaps a hospital visit or even his memories of their fraught relationship that develops into a mutual understanding because theyre both depressed at the start of s4.

I actually don't know any! I really like them as good friends, but I either see it mentioned as a romance angle or complaints about liking it since they don't interact much. Which I think is silly - clearly they are friends? I love how when you pull away the snark and sarcasm, Max just wanted to be friends with Mike. The scene with the skateboard in the gym in season 2 when Max is skating around and Mike starts genuinely smiling - that's one of my favorite parts of the entire series. It shows them both so perfectly!!

We don't have to see everything perfectly spelled out on screen. It's like jokes about how little we see Will and Dustin interact in the actual show. Sure, we want more of that and sure this much is true with minimal screen time together - but that doesn't mean in the "reality" of the show's internal world, that they don't interact. They're all friends and they'd all be together a lot, using the implications by means of imagination. So - Mike and Max. Great duo. Love them! Wish I knew of anyone you can vibe with, but that has never been a focal point I can recall well. I'm only following a really small number these days and do a lot of blog and tag jumping.

But ooooh I would love some nod in season 5. Mike talking to Max bedside while she's unconscious would be cool. Maybe guilt for being involved in bringing her into the danger of their lives. Maybe a confessional for some hard truths. He wants to tell a friend whatever it is he's been going through but he can't tell anyone else who could actively judge. Maybe him upping his loyal leader arc, bedside vowing they'll save her, even after all that time. There's a lot they can do. Will they? It would be nice, but part of me feels all the storyline with Max is going to be with others, but who knows!!

this is kind of hard to answer! but id say.. where im stalking my darling, and i find out that theyre stalking me too. ill follow them home, for example, but they're aware of it,, and after they go home, they wait as long as i do before i start to head back to my place, then they follow me. an intricate dance of who will make the first big move. i love to take pictures, so maybe ill have a lot of blurry pictures of them,, but they find all the ones i drop, leave them in a place ill find them, then take their own of me when i discover my dropped photos. i dunno!! i love mutual obsession, and the idea that we're both stalking each other but im unaware

while i love cannibalism, i feel like that's used very often in this community so ill save that. hmm.. im honestly unsure of other metaphors for love! i think personally, i like to think of it as an act of service? as a way of being? i breathe, it is for you — that is love. or maybe like.. the common example of preparing a fruit, a pomegranate, for your beloved. i will stain my hands, i will numb my fingers. i also believe that cannibalism as a metaphor is very beautiful, its one of my favorites as well. except, in terms of (yet again) fruit, the skin is fragile, it will tear. the flesh is soft and malleable; sweet, maybe a little bitter. but you bite into it, you savor it or you devour it. if you leave it, or if you dont finish it, it will sour and rot on your counter. wash it, take care of it. let it live, and when you take your bite, remember to finish it all and keep it warm in your stomach (in this instance your heart idk do i make sense to anyone but me?)

i think its in general the way that yans are portrayed in media. the way that girls are annoying and kind of stupid, crazy, wants to be submissive. and that boys cant be yans, but when they are theyre cruel and perverted. wheres the gentle, slow obsession that consumes the yandere, so in turn they take over your life, control you softly. i dont know! i think that there should be less romanticizing, more variety, less violence (depending), and more actual struggle shown on the yanderes part — they are not always inherently cruel, they do not always want to monopolize their darling. they might not like being this way
