In love with the idea of captain marvel being Billy's imaginary friend. Like, it'd be so easy. Early depictions had them as almost fully separate people sometimes, like one soul with two minds, rather than just two filters like we mostly see now.

But imagine a Billy down on his luck, hurt and hiding from police and criminals alike, daydreaming the hours away as children do, taking inspiration from all the superheroes rising to fame, making little stories to play out his dreams of saving the world with a generic action doll he found while dumpster diving once. Most of the paint's rubbed off.

Red's his favourite colour, his comfiest jumper is a bright ruby even after all the grime and washes. Gold, too, it's shiny and warmer than silver! A hero cape is a must, big and eye catching! And he can fly, of course, like superman, and in his daydreams, when he's sore and frustrated after a long day's grind, his superhero is smart enough and knows all the right words to get the bullies to stop without resorting to fighting.

His superhero fantasy is one he spends a lot of time on, the first one he goes for when struggling to sleep at night, and he can picture it so clearly. Captain marvel is big and bright and kind, strong enough to lift the boxes for the old lady up the road who's moving all by himself, fast enough to catch Jamie who fell out of the tree on Saturday and broke his leg and couldn't come to class for weeks. He appears at the entrance to alleys when Billy is cornered, he steps up behind to cover for him when he gets caught shoplifting, he sits at the bus stop with him when it's pouring rain and the right bus doesn't seem to be coming.

And then the wizard comes, or rather whisks him away, and like a magician from a fairytale breathes life into his imaginary friend until Billy feels thrice his size and a million times more invincible.

From then on, captain marvel is a real hero, just like Billy is a real boy, and as one they save the whole city, and then the whole world, and get cats down from trees and help Mrs Victoria move the last of her boxes and she gives them a pinch in the cheek and cookies for the road and sometimes it hurts but it's so much better than he imagined.

Every time Zam opens up about his mindset and explains why he is the way he is to Kab, the very next conversation she uses that information for her own selfish gain.

Just like. It's subconscious more than purposeful I think. Just given how she says it. But it is a facet of her inner reality that any information she gains she uses for herself and to help herself and she acts as if anyone's small kindness or compassion towards her plight is a blood oath of protection, help, and teaming.

But PrinceZam hates opening up and to see him so consciously trying to be open and honest and self aware about himself and where he's at, unlike season 4 where he was unable to do so, and to have that be thrown in his face every day and be misunderstood over and over and over and over and over.

Tbh there should have been restrictions on what races can romance astarion. Pretty annoyed that I wasted hours on his romance during my deep gnome playthrough only to get to grymforge and have him lose approval left and right because I *checks notes* freed the other gnomes from slavery.

And the dialogue options for a deep gnome tav suck, while we're here. At times the game doesn't acknowledge you're a deep gnome; Astarion is disgusted when you say you're going to free the gnomes and refuses to help, and there's no gnome dialogue options? There should be an option to kick him from the party for that, but I can't even acknowledge it.

Gorgug means a lot to me as a mixed kid with a racist parent.

I once saw someone on here refer to Gorgug and his parents as an allegory for transracial adoption and I've never forgotten that. It felt so true to me the second I read it. Gorgug growing up being physically different than his family but also perceived differently. Digby and Wilma had to cut off their family to protect Gorgug from their racism. How does that feel for him? Being seen as dangerous and big and scary? It rings so close to being a black man in a white family. Being scared of embracing being a barbarian, talking more white, slouching. Convincing other people you aren't like other orcs, that you aren't like them. Gorgug doesn't rage, he worries. He sings a song when he's mad. And yes that's mostly because Gorgug just isn't an angry person. I believe that. But do you think there's a part of him that doesn't hit back or yell because he knows there will be severe consequences? Do you think he knows that people will look at him, hulking, at seven feet tall and punish him first? And do you think that maybe his parents knew that too, that that's part of why they taught him the song?

The op I'm referencing also pointed out that while Wilma and Digby clearly love Gorgug, they fail him in some ways. And that hits just as hard. These well meaning white people defended their son, they took him in and they love him so much. But they never told him why all of his things break. They never got a bigger house or changed his room. They didn't sit down with Gorgug and talk him through his fear of anger. Of being too big and too scary, of hurting people. They didn't know to. Because they aren't orcs. They'll never understand that part of him, no matter how much they love him. So maybe they just ignored it, maybe they thought the problem would go away.

Something sticks in my chest when I think about Gorgug and his relationship to being an orc. When I think about this giant green kid, in a tiny home with tiny gnome parents. This kid who asks everyone he can find if they're his dad. Because something is missing, even with these parents he loves more than anything . Who love him more than anything. This young person who wants so badly to be an artificer because his gnome parents may not be in his genes but they are a part of him. And he is told that he can't be, that he's too angry and too big and too strong. He won't be able to think in battle. He needs to choose. He needs to decide between his innate rage and his passion for tinkering. But he doesn't decide, because he wants to do both. And he knows he can. He's done it his whole life.

yea I think it would be super situational and need some sort of inciting incident for him to do it, but I also think it can definitely happen if there was a reason for it to happen. Like I don't think he refuses to betray her like he refuses to betray Branzy and Ferre.

And imo I think part of that is bc how he views her as a sister? like the sibling dynamic of messing with your sibling so they grow strong. you'll be by their side fighting against their enemies, but also you also do shit to them that's worse than anyone else would do. but it's because they need to grow up.

vs with Branzy he's got that flirting and Ferre is his coach and mentor and best friend. So for one, it's protection bc relationship and the other is undying loyalty due to common history.

He might have a back-of-the-mind plan to do something to her because she is SO forward about trusting him and he thinks she needs to learn that she should trust nobody. Just like, noticing how he talks when he's in vc with her this season esp that day when the mice base was found and she was running from mane.

But that plan won't happen until he sees it's the perfect time to make that killing blow, and even then it won't be like with Minute where it's, "you need to learn I'm never about peace, lifesteal isn't about peace" but more like "See I told you. Now get up and be better". Which is an interesting thought to think about how Kab would react in that situation. Would she be irreparably distrusting of Clown or would it strengthen her?

genuinely wonder if clown will ever Actually betray (or "betray" ig since theyre not actually teamed, not even sure if theyre like. Officially allied tbh cause clown hasnt logged on in so long lmao) kab cause on one hand i think it would be interesting but on the other hand he doesnt really have a reason to??

like kabs morals fit perfectly well with his philosophy and the servers purpose, they dont target him and even tries to get ppl who target him off his back, and while she has beef with mane who you could somewhat?? reasonably call his ally hes not exactly attached to him like that and would probably even find it funny if kab managed to kill mane on their own

but like kab said clown is reasonably attached to her but not to the same extent as he is with ferre and branzy so it could go either or really but as its looking rn it doesnt seem like its gonna be happening at least not anytime soon

He uses his rage to protect people, he took 4 years of school at once to make sure he got to multiclass because he was not gonna be told no. He stayed on the Owlbears for Fabian even though he didn’t want it anymore. He took the Last Standard Exam and he crit so. many. times. He didn’t fall and neither did his friends! He flew a boat and killed dragons and he protected his spellcasters from Porter because that bitch was not gonna kill his friends. He hugged Kristen and told her she looked better. He looked better too. “Remember when we died?” He posited “It might happen again,” she responded. He didn’t let it. He wouldn’t let that happen. Not to them, never again. His new girlfriend is 2’.

I genuinely can’t get over him I love him and I have so many more analyses of so many more characters coming and hopefully they will be more coherent but it’s 4 am in a warehouse
