yess there is but not a crazy amount just yet really. i mostly just wanted to animate this scene. this is what i wrote on twitter to explain it:

Gnf was assigned to kill dream. Obviously, he was failing, getting rather close to and fond of dream.

Dream knows gnf was chosen to hunt him, but they’re both skilled and dodge each others attacks and traps. Somewhere along the line they stop attacking

Dream is an outlaw (kind of like a robinhood situation) and was captured once, put a curse of binding mask on him to strip him of identity and rights while being held captive, then escaped.

Sapnap is called in to finally kill Dream. He does, Dream is shot while he walks next to gnf and bleeds out.

As we all know, with curse of binding, when you die you are finally rid of the awful armor. That’s why gnf is in such a shock to hold his mask. A nail In the coffin, confirmation of death

haven’t decided if dream is /dead/ dead or if g will go on this long journey to resurrect him, to perform necromancy . probably bc i love a good obsessive relationship full of weird grief and desperation
