I’m trans but I instantly transform into a self righteous cis guy as soon as a white woman says something about men as if they’re a monolith
#hannah gadsby#gender agenda#is super afab and women heavy#which is fine#but it’s also really annoying to hear each of the first three comedians compare men to children and universally emotionally unaware dolts#and it’s like#it’s about social indoctrination that punishes emotional engagement#and it is sad#and I get why people make jokes about a lot of men#but it’s just#a lot#to hear it so much so many times in a row#and it’s weird that a show starring#gnc folks#is so gender essentialist

Begging, begging, begging people to stop associating aging and femininity in men/masculine people as Wrong and Predatory. Femininity has no age limit.
To any feminine man, masculine person, or really, anybody who needs to hear this: Your femininity deserves to be recognized and celebrated. Aging is a natural and unique part of life, and you don't have to sacrifice your femininity for fear of being "too old" to be accepted or seen as charming. You are already charming.
There is no limit to being who you are. No matter what you're told, you still deserve to completely claim yourself.
#queer#gender nonconformity#gnc#lgbt#lgbtq#not just about queerness since femininity in men/masculine folks isn't inherently queer...#...but there is a venn diagram of feminine men/folks and queerness if you get what i mean#this even goes out to every cisallohet man who Wants to be feminine and yet feels scared and limited :) (genuine)#aging is NOT antithetical to femininity. you are NOT predatory and you don't need to 'grow out' of your authentic expression#every time i see an old fem man out living his best life i want to actually ascend to heaven (in the best way)#and i will become his protector. if anybody THINKS about being mean to him for being feminine i WILL fus ro dah them to hell

bisexuals i think we need to start being more aggressive and claiming characters as bisexual. even if it doesn't "make sense" -- unless canon says otherwise they're bi now. they're bi now

there is no true to the book movie adaptation of Frankenstein out there because then society would be confronted with the fact that it creates its own monsters by pushing non-normative people who are capable of love and kindness, to horrifying deeds. because at its core, Frankenstein's horror consists not of what the creature is capable of doing, but what pushes him to do it. and let's face it, society would often much rather be scared of 'the other' than of the cruelty in oneself.
also, Adam would have to be trans and autistic, but that's just my personal opinion
#frankenstein#listen the creature is just an ugly non-verbal autistic trans guy and that's all that it takes for society to hate him#and by ugly i mean not conforming to societal beauty standards AND gnc AND possibly visibly disabled#sure he was made in a student's living room but many other folks were too#sure he kills some people but who doesn't#the real horror is exclusion don't get it twisted#my posts

Other trans people are not your enemy.
This goes for both trans women & fems and trans men & mascs. There are popular trans women twitter accounts telling young trans women that trans men do not care about them and simultaneously denying trans men face any transphobia, there are popular trans men on tumblr telling young trans men that trans women do not care about our oppression, pointing to the lack of talk about murdered trans men as proof.
And some of these points are fair, we should listen to each other more about our struggles. But you are making that difficult. Do you think a trans woman wants to listen to someone who accuses all trans women of hating trans men and not caring about our struggles? Do you think trans men want to listen to someone who says tells people that trans men are future terfs and will never care about trans womens struggles?
Are we not all just sides of the same dice? Are we not all facing oppression from transphobes? Terfs write books about how trans men are mutilating themselves and articles about predatory trans women in bathrooms, republicans fund legislation targeting trans surgeries and hormones, which affects all of us.
And even if we did not face the same struggles, why are we divided? Again, are we not all the same, simply trying to be ourselves in our own bodies? We can each talk about our own struggles, the difficulties we face and the joys we experience without the opposite being true of the other, infact more often than not it's extremely similar and I think we'd benefit from listening to each other more.
#transmisogyny#transandrophobia#trans separatism#because thats what this is really about im so fucking sick of the pervasive trans separatism i see in trans spaces#and both sides have had separatist movements and they use the existence of the other to recruit more folks driving us further apart#i dont want to get into conspiracy theory thinking and say the big separatist accounts are run by transphobes#because theyre not theyre just hurting trans folks lashing out but they are making it worse by hurting young trans folks#trans men who accuse random trans women of being baeddels are just as bad as trans women who accuse random trans men of being future terfs#like both groups are/were abusive as fuck what a great thing to wish on someone#hatred does nothing but cause harm honestly#also id like to point out that these separatist groups also harm the group theyre recruiting#baeddels notoriously drove gnc/nb trans fems away and the leader literally raped someone#transmasc separatists STILL use the most disgusting misgendering language about other trans men

Anyway… gender non-conforming teenage Billy discovering metal for the first time, seeing men in makeup with long hair and feminine clothes. Metal being a “safe(r)” way for him to express himself than outright saying he doesn’t want “to be a man” 100% of the time. He can deal with Neil thinking he’s a degenerate brat, but he won’t survive if Neil knows for a fact that he’s queer. So, he dresses himself up like his heroes and plays the part well. Girls flock to him because he breaks the mold and Billy likes girls in the way that he wants to be like them. Pretty. Dolled up with perfume. He envies video vixens and fantasizes about bassists. Metal allows him to walk the line between the safe and expected (masculinity) and unexpected and dangerous (femininity) he would love to embrace more.
#two for one special#metal billy upsetting the fandom b/c he likes the ‘wrong’ metal#gnc / non-binary billy upsetting the fandom b/c they only care about respectable queer and trans folks#billy hargrove#babygirl billy

Look you can't bridge the gap between Radfems and trans people because you let so many radfems be aggressively and violently transphobic. By siding with them you're siding with people who want me dead or as good as dead. They aren't good people. They're violent aggressive and bigoted.
i am sneaking into the territory and reforming it from the inside <3
TIRF SUPREMACY!!! NUANCEFEMS WILL CHANGE DA WORLD!!!!!!!!
#asks#listen man it is better to go in it and improve it than let it fester on its own without nuanced voices in it! it is not irredeemable!!!#radical feminism can do amazing things for all female/afab folks and all people directly experiencing misogyny irl <33#and gnc people in general too!#yes conservative women sneak in and say really unhinged stuff and yeah some bigots r floating around who we NEED to call tf out#but holy shit mainstream tra/qweer spaces have RAMPANT homophobia (esp lesbophobia) & misogyny like it's INSANE#the abuse that goes on in there is fucking horrifying#so yeah both sides have huge issues and i'm so sorry to anyone who's been harmed by toxic radfems. but we shall improve things!#i refuse to give up! i'm making a crazy amt of progress already#nuancefem#tirf

COP 3 really bringing out the worst of the "female coded MCs" takes on Choices Reddit. Lord please yeet me into Mount Atropo.
#like please ask yourself#why is the MC getting walked down the aisle only cringe or problematic when its a non-female MC. do yall not hear yourselves.#i mean I'm not gonna pretend Choices doesn't or has never had gender coding problems#and I'm also not gonna pretend like Choices doesn't write with wlm routes in mind#PB seriously does need more variety and should let us have masculine MCs and feminine LIs#but when ppl are acting like it's only a problem for m!MCs (and sometimes nb!MCs) that's where I start to lose sympathy#Choices and tbh most content in the romance genre in general is already alienating to us GNC/genderqueer folks#+ ppl who like non-normative romance#and takes like these just further alienate us#like idk psure there are men who LIKE being treated as the bride (and their female partner being the groom if mlw) for fucking once#and you'd be hard pressed to find media let alone an interactive game that lets them live out that fantasy#these stories may not have been intentionally made for them but it'd still be pretty fuckin meaningful that they get that here#and who knows maybe it can pave the way for other media to do it too and maybe even better/intentionally#it's fine to want masc MCs but dont act like its not important for f!players too#because as a gal I'm still waiting on when these stories will let me watch my husband-to-be walk down the aisle :P#cop 3#cop 3 spoilers#crimes of passion#crimes of passion 3#crimes of passion 3 spoilers#choices game#choices#choices stories you play#choices stories we play fandom#choices stories we play#cadybear vents#cadybear rants

Any big butch ladies or non-binaries out there with good resources for picking out clothing that won't make me feel like a cow in a dress? Seems like everyone's got a style they like. I'm 35 and I still haven't been able to figure it out for myself.
I hate dresses. And skirts. Heels.
I like the idea of high-waisted pants and suspenders, but I'm not sure how that'll go with my big tits. Maybe if another curvy person could show me that it looks good, I'd try it. But then I don't know the best place to buy clothes like that for me bc I'm curvy.
No opposition to colorful clothes. But I'm not sure how good certain colors are with my pale skin.
Finding bras for my big chest that don't cost 60 bucks a pop is impossible. And it's just as hard to find an actual supportive bra for athletic activities. Just feels like it's not possible for me to look good bc the world hates fat people. Really discouraging.
Any advice or links to sites with clothes I could try would be great. I'd just like to be able to look at myself and actually like what I see for once.

the solution to the "are you normal about X people who turn out to be Y" debate is stop fucking assuming things about people
You wanna know what pronouns to use for an individual? Ask them.
As a general rule, don't make jokes about the identity you perceive of someone. Know your audience
How is that hard? Why do we all think ourselves such experts on the lives of other people??????
#gopher rambles#rant#listen. I know assumptions are something you can't always control having. But you can control how you treat them and talk about them#that masc presenting person likes “girly things”?#well you can't know for sure if they're an egg who will come out as transfem in a few years or a stealth transmasc who likes stuff they gre#up with (or maybe never got a chance to properly enjoy!) or a gnc cisguy or transnuetral or ANYTHING#Who fucking died and made you the omnipotent godking? And if you arent why the hell do you think you know these things for sure????#Listen. Im not immune to having assumptions about people. I've been in plenty of situations irl where I think “that person might be trans”#but I don't just. Go buckwild with it? I either wait for them to volunteer that information or I go “hey how should I refer to you”#its not hard oh my god#regardless I'm personally never going to win. Genderless is not the assumption anyone will ever make about me and I can barely get folks to#call me a they/them let alone he/him. I'm not bothered by she/her but I sure would like if folks stopped fuckin assuming shit#stop shoving people into boxes before I shove your ass off a fuggin cliff

Also on a tangentially related note, regarding my last post. I need to have that gangly teenage boy build like my cis brothers. People only ever seem to take androgyny and gender nonconformity seriously when the person in question is skinny and already conventionally attractive to some degree. I am much better about accepting my body as it is than I used to be, truly, big progress has been made- but I can’t help but feel, sometimes, like I have to be smaller to start dressing ‘weird/cool’. Does this make any sense? Can anyone hear me??
#vent#vent tw#tw vent#tw internalized fatphobia#i guess. let me know if anyone needs this tagged differently/gen#I have this weird thing abt my height too. like I’d be more okay being kinda chubby if I was already short/er I think#I just have always felt far too big. yippee for the perpetuation of fatphobia via female socialization or whatever idk#/sarc of course. not at all thrilled about the fact that I feel this way#makes me feel guilty too bc I truly don’t think this about other people#I have seen some wildly attractive androgynous and otherwise gnc folks out there online and irl who are some degree of fat/gen#I hate this mentality I have about my own body and gender expression bc I’d hate to make anyone feel that way but with me it’s. different.#idk I’m just talking. probably will delete this in the morning lol

I could get cancelled for this immediately, but does anyone else get really irritated when you see a certain subset of the queer community inserting themselves into other subsets’ issues?
Like when cis gay people think they can speak for trans folks just because “well we’re all lgbt.”
Or like gay men thinking they can make misogynistic comments about lesbians and use the word d*ke etc just because “well we’re lgbt too”.
Or (and this is a big one lately) queer women inserting themselves into conversations that are about issues specific to queer men, and acting like they have exactly as much credibility in the argument because “well we’re just as lgbt as you.”
It’s just like… yeah we’re all queer. But each individual group is their own mini community, and they all have their own things that are specific to them, and if you aren’t in that exact demographic then you don’t have the experience necessary to add your input on those topics. And if you go ahead and shove your way into the conversation anyway, then you’re like… only 5% better than a homophobe. If that.
#scrolled past a thread on Twitter earlier about how Billy porter complained about media giving Harry styles#who is maybe straight maybe not#so much attention for doing things that openly queer men have been doing for ages#so obviously very much a debate that should be happening between queer men and nonbinary folks as well as gnc straight guys#but the ENTIRE comment section was either straight women or queer women#most of them were Harry styles stans#and it was just so annoying cause like you guys aren’t the ones this conversation is about#you’re not the ones directly being talking about or effected by this topic#and yet you’re here dominating the conversation arguing with actual gay men over something that affects them#… just because you got mad that someone insulted ur senpai 😒#annoying af#queer issues#queer discourse#q slur mention#lgbt#anti harry styles#just in case lol

not to sound like an 80s suburban dad but discomfort builds character. you learn a lot from being uncomfortable.
#ok to rb#this is mostly me thinking about conservatives being uncomfortable with GNC folks fucking around with gender#but can also be applied to less serious things like exercise or trying new things#and this obviously isn't about every time you're uncomfortable#having to pee really badly doesn't build character it's bad for your health#listening to a bigot rant against you for existing does not build character it can be traumatizing#i feel like i have to add a disclaimer to every post i make to just ask people to interpret things with nuance and thought

I'm moody and grumpy and sick so I'm going to be a freak about writing for a bit.
I fucking love writing PEOPLE. like as a whole. I love writing little imperfect messy living moments. People aren't perfect. Never will be. Never SHOULD be. And I fucking LOVE writing that. Even the "unnecessary details" feel necessary to me because they're HUMAN.
Spilling food on yourself. Getting food stuck in your teeth and maybe making funny faces while you're trying to get it out. Mentioning a silly moment from their youth in teasing. A disagreement. Putting on clothes and getting your arm stuck in your sleeve at first. "Ugly laughter". Losing your train of thought and saying nonsense while snapping fingers to try and get your thoughts back. Hugging someone taller than you and maybe having to change how you stand to fit together. Accidentally stepping on someone's foot. Bedhead, fixing someone's clothes, double chins, clumsy moments, Shifting, fidgeting, having someone mimic another's voice to make someone laugh, LIVING THINGS lksjdf ldskjf THINGS THAT MAKE US HUMAN!!!
And like?? A small thing, as I said I love just writing PEOPLE. But I see posts sometimes about how people "have a hard time writing women" and I'm just sitting here like??? "She's a person?? You've met another person before, right? Write the same way." and just get boggled and even, I don't know, disappointed? Even if she's not part of the main "cast" have her be, idk human?? Not just cardboard you know?? Don't "girlboss" her but also just?? simply have her have life!
Or then I've seen people literally admit "Well with canon there's not much to work with the women" WELL THEN MAKE STUFF UP!!! Use your big brain and have headcanons for her! See the potential she already has and fly with it!!! :D
How many times has she spilled food on her clothes and groaned because it's her favorite? How many times has she had snarled hair? She's probably had something in her eye at some point. She's probably tripped and skinned her knee once or twice. Does she swear? How would she react in this situation?
And sometimes I'll see people use history as an excuse or whatever but like??? Even IF systematically women weren't treated well, that wasn't the rule for ALL. For example, in the USA, Women usually couldn't go out in public in pants during certain periods. Yet I have photos of family from the 1930s where there are women in pants. Little girls and their mothers literally using a two-person saw and on the farm in pants. Just because the system is sexist doesn't mean that men in women's lives always enforce it. Just like nowadays. Reproductive rights. That's systematic. Daily life? I feel plenty safe with a lot of regular ass dudes. SAME BACK THEN MOST LIKELY!!!
Idk y'all. I'm just... disappointed by how many times I come across this type of stuff :/
#I wrote this a while ago but I saw another post about how it's hard to write women and I'm mad.#I'm sick as well so yeah. woe be upon ye#It's... just...SO important to me that I write women as more than just a “caregiver” role you know?#If she IS a mother and wife and that's ALL you have her doing??? I'm MAD#I've seen that WAY too often >:( I'm writing a sickfic right now. and it made me realize how few fics have the MEN taking care of women#it's not bad!!! It's just something I've noticed. adn it makes me sad. just a lil bit.#Mad rambles#rant#vent#sldkfj dskf#it's funny because I'm literally like. “What are her goals?” get it all down and it's a bunch of stuff. His goals? “WIFE”.#I'm joking but you know#I didn't bring up gnc folks because that's a completely different discussion. Still important but I'm venting about a specific#post. >:(#also I'm sleepy and being crabby. Please forgive me
