ようやく今年最初のグラスサインが完成。前回に引き続きデザインは100年ほど前に存在したグラスサイン会社のリプロダクト。今回はペイントを一切使わず全てミラー仕様。色を使用しないグラスサインも独特の美しさがありますね。ネットで手に入れたフレームもかなり趣があり、作品を更に引き立てています。さて、ここからはしばらくはネットで申し込んだワークショップの課題制作に励もうと思います。 #The first glass sign of the year is just completed. Continuing from the previous project, the design is a reproduction of a glass sign company that existed about 100 years ago. This time, the sign is entirely mirrored without using any paint. The glass sign without using any color has a unique beauty. The frame I got from the Internet is also quite quaint and enhances the work even more. Percobaan pertama glass chipping dengan hide glue. . . Proses dari awal ngabisin 36 jam. Pertama dengan merendam dan memanaskan lem hingga larut, membuat permukaan kaca jadi kasar, menuangkan lem ke kaca dan menunggu lem kering dan terbuka dengan sendirinya. . Cabinet project

Finally I get to work on one of the projects I've been looking forward to. I found this small cabinet outside next to the trash and we've been needing (and been too lazy to find an) a cabinet above the toilet in the bathroom to store things so this was perfect. It's a little dinged up and has large paint globs on the top of it. I bought an orbital sander because I have a dozen small projects around the house I need to do, most of which involve sanding one thing or another so having this with it's paint globs just pushed me over the edge to finally get one. So, current project is to clean this up and repaint. I need to make sure it fits the space too, or there's a chance I can't even use the cabinet...

Now the question becomes DO I WANT TO MAKE STAINED GLASS PANELS FOR THIS?! I'm... honestly just itching to make some panels for this. I've got the itchy fingers for some leaded pane glassmaking since I left foster_stained_glass and making some small tiffany suncatchers hasn't sufficiently scratched that itch so I'm leaning toward yes. Alternatively, I could also replace the glass with some nicer glass, such as gluechip or something patterned enough to hide the contents of the cabinet (because no one really wants to admire your shampoo bottles and menstrual products...) instead of the clear glass that's in it now. For some reason one of the panes is etched glass and the rest are clear. Bleargh.

What do you all think? Stained glass or a sheet of glass? If stained what sort of design? Full Geekery (Legend of Zelda? Fantasy, like dragons?) or something more flowery or maybe abstract and simple? Comment and give me some opinions, I'm torn!
