Plant of the Day
Wednesday 19 July 2023
In this shady, moist border the flowers of Trollius chinensis 'Golden Queen' (globeflower) were creating a great contrast with the fresh, green fern fronds.

European Globeflowers -- FOTD May 29
European Globeflowers -- FOTD May 29
Hi all 👋 My latest post for Cee’s FOTD. With Cee recuperating, I’ll be posting flowers daily to give her a bit of floral delight (my version of a bouquet) 💐 European Globeflower As with my latest Fan Of… post (see link 👇), I’m exploring some DALL-E AI preset styles for my edits. Staying with these bright yellow flowers, I’ve done a dystopian-style transformation. Rather than changing how the…

Gadag culture is one that is heavily centered around food, plants, and community. This is all the more obvious when springtime is in full swing as these trolls have a method to showing fancy or appreciation for others by using flowers. These unique flowers, created by the Gadag and grown in special greenhouses over the winter, are harvested once danger of frost has passed. The blooms are quite large in size, and look like a hybrid between clover and european globeflowers. They come in an array of colours. White, yellow, red - and the colours do have meaning when given to another.
White blooms are dedicated to specific Gadag that one fancies, and would like to court. (Freshly flowered phase.)
Yellow is amicable, and the most common gift. (Transition phase.)
Red falls under the romance category, when Gadag are wanting to push their relationships forward. (Pollination/end of cycle phase.)
Further development notes: There is often times a game associated with these flowers. Gadag with the intent to woo one another have to try their best to sneak the flower into the fur or onto clothes of the one they like. Same goes with the red blooms; those however are usually left by someone's dwell after they've been bonded for a while. Meanwhile yellow flowers are more open and given by anybody - but the sneaky aspect is still associated with the cultivar. The more blossoms someone wears, it signifies higher amounts of appreciation from the community.

🏵️ Globeflower
Edmund saw an incredibly beautiful girl in a tavern. She reminded him of a globeflower. It is a beautiful orange flower that grows in the fields on their island.

What Flower Are You?
Globeflower
You’re easy-going, and well-rounded, not the type to box yourself into one aesthetic or genre. Come spring, you’re likely to be found staring into the depths of a garden pond, perhaps contemplating your own pretty face, or watching the reflections of bees and butterflies as they dart between the flowers or thinking about the bodies that lie beneath the damp of the bog where you have chosen to grow.
Tulip
People have always felt free to speculate about you, but it’s never changed who you are. You’ve got your faith, your love, your pretty face: so, hold your crowned head high. The world may know your name, but they hardly know your heart. Your truth is yours and that’s enough for you.
Marigold
The plow turns the earth, and you appear. Warm as the sun, and just as cheerful. You can make any day seem bright. You’re not fussy, and you can make the best of a bad situation. You’re keen to turn away pests at the door, and to burn bright while you can. For you, one summer is enough.
Flax
You are so helpful to the people you know, always finding a different way to lend a hand and to be of use. You’ve a talent for weaving stories, for pricking people’s interest, and for holding on to it. Ancient and enduring, you’ve been with us for centuries, and though through time you may find people’s interest in you wanes, they’ll always find their way back to you in the end.
Marigold
The plow turns the earth, and you appear. Warm as the sun, and just as cheerful. You can make any day seem bright. You’re not fussy, and you can make the best of a bad situation. You’re keen to turn away pests at the door, and to burn bright while you can. For you, one summer is enough.
False Sunflower
Come midsummer you’ll be wandering the prairies, dipping in and out amongst the grasses, finding your way in a world in which people fail to realize your worth. Some people might think you’re a little fake, but is it your fault if they mistake you for what you’re not? Turn your face to the sun, and soak up the love it gives you.
Marigold
The plow turns the earth, and you appear. Warm as the sun, and just as cheerful. You can make any day seem bright. You’re not fussy, and you can make the best of a bad situation. You’re keen to turn away pests at the door, and to burn bright while you can. For you, one summer is enough.
