Read the Project 2025 manifesto RIGHT NOW
It's MUCH worse than y'all have been hearing
There is so much here you'll have to look at it for yourself, but the climate policy alone is nightmare fuel.
The republican coalition wants to essentially end funding for green energy, dramatically promote and expand fossil fuel industries, and eliminate funding and regulations in all sectors promoting climate change mitigation. Task forces and offices related to clean energy and lowering carbon emissions will be eliminated and replaced with offices for promoting fossil fuels.
They want to LOG NATIONAL FORESTS TO "THIN" THE TREES TO STOP WILDFIRES.
THEY WANT TO FORCE OREGON AND CALIFORNIA TO LOG THEIR NATIONAL FORESTS AND TREAT THEM AS FOR TIMBER PRODUCTION
There are specific provisions in Project 2025 to essentially destroy the Endangered Species Act, causing it to defer to the rights of "economic development" and "private property." The plan includes delisting gray wolves, cutting the budget so that a "triage" system is used to determine which species will get protection, removing funding for research, removing experts and specialists from the decision-making process, and preventing "experimental" populations of animals from being established.
This is so much worse than I expected it to be and there's much more past that: They want to deregulate pesticides and remove much of the EPA's ability to regulate pollutants as well.
Also included in the manifesto is that we should
withdraw from nuclear weapons nonproliferation agreements, build more nuclear weapons, and resume nuclear weapons testing
The manifesto comprehensively outlines the scorched-earth elimination of abortion access, down to ensuring doctors aren't even trained to perform abortions. There are plans in here to disrupt abortion access GLOBALLY, not just domestically.
Not only that, the Republicans plan on reframing family planning programs around "fertility awareness" and "holistic family planning."
I can't even describe it all. I'm trying to give screenshots of the most important things but there's so much.
The foreign policy is a nightmare. They plan to push fossil fuels onto the Global South and promote the development of fossil fuel industry in the "developing world."
It is aggressive and antagonistic towards other nations, strongly pro-military, proposing that we INCREASE (!!!!!) defense spending, improve public opinion of the military and military recruitment, and increase the power to fund new weapons technology.
Just read the Department of Defense section. It's about greatly increasing and strengthening the military-industrial complex, collaborating more closely with weapons manufacturers, removing regulatory barriers to arming our allies and to inventing new military weapons, and recruiting more people into the military. They include provisions to develop AI technology for surveillance. And of course, continuing to support Israel is in there.
Elsewhere it proposes interfering in foreign countries with creepy pro-USA propaganda campaigns, even establishing international educational programs where faculty have to pledge to promote USA interests.
There's a line in here about getting rid of PBS because SESAME STREET is LEFTIST for God's sake.
HOW are people claiming democrats have the same policies. I feel like i'm losing my mind.

From what I can read online without a paywall block, US medical schools are moving in the direction of requiring or offering courses on climate change. I'm copying this directly from my Duck Duck Go search results:
The number of medical schools in the United States that include climate change in their curriculum has been increasing, with 65% of MD-granting schools requiring or offering courses on the topic in 2022. A survey by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) found that the percentage of medical schools with climate change in their curriculum increased from 27% in 2019–2020 to 55% in 2021–2022, and then to 65% in 2022.
Excerpt from this EcoWatch story:
A network of universities across Europe has launched an initiative to train medical students on climate change-related illnesses as well as provide education on more sustainable healthcare.
The initiative includes 25 universities that have formed the European Network on Climate & Health Education (ENCHE), which will incorporate climate change education into the existing curriculum. The goal is to better prepare students to treat humans facing health disparities linked to climate change as well as to improve the sustainability of the healthcare system.
“From the spread of infectious diseases to increasingly deadly heatwaves, the health impacts of climate change are becoming ever more dangerous,” Iain McInnes, co-chair of ENCHE and vice principal and Head of College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow, said in a statement. “As educators, it is our responsibility to ensure that the next generation of doctors, health professionals and medical leaders have the skills they need to face these challenges and can provide patients with the best care possible.”
The network will be led by the University of Glasgow and supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), and universities from Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland and the UK will be involved in ENCHE.
Other health organizations, part of the Sustainable Markets Initiative Health Systems Task Force, will provide additional support to ENCHE. The network will serve as a regional hub for the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE) at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, with GCCHE providing collaboration and expert support for the initiative.
ENCHE has a goal to train 10,000 or more medical students on treating climate change health impacts in the first three years of the program. According to the University of Glasgow, there is not a consistent curriculum in medical schools that teaches on the links between climate change and health impacts.
This training could help save many more lives, as human health becomes increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. According to the WHO, about 99% of humans globally are exposed to air quality below WHO standards, while more than 7 million people die from air pollution-related health impacts. Rising heat is another concern, with heat-related deaths expected to triple by 2050 in a business-as-usual scenario.

Unit 02: Teaching Learners
My ideal role as a environmental interpreter is to be someone who can dissect hard to swallow ideas and break them down into bite size pieces that everyone will be able to understand. As a developing professional and scientist, I would like to be able to better communicate my ideas to a broader audience; not only just to other Universtiy students with similar educational background but also to a kindergartener who is just beginning their journey in academics or someone who is recently retired looking for a new hobby.
When asked to envision a nature interpreter, most people would picture the scout guide with the troop of young children all dressed up at summer camp, however I like to picture a nature interpreter as a ecological scientist who monitors trends in the environment to determine if there are factors that effect the overall health of an ecosystem. Someone who is monitoring the large-scale populations, the changing of weather patterns, the possible changes in melting patterns or in migration reports. These scientists are able to take in different streams of data and determine different methods to solve ecological issues as well as create preventative measures to help prevent future problems to arise. Nature interpreters need to be able to develop and lead engaging programs for various audiences, including school groups, families, and community members. Being able to Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community leaders to promote environmental awareness and involvement in conservation initiatives is also needed as this brings attention to potential problems that nature is facing. Creating interpretive materials such as brochures, as well as digital content that highlights the local environment is done to increase involvement with the community and has helped to spread awareness for many different ecological problems.
I imagine this ecological scientist being present in a community, like a doctor or a fireman, being present in schools and around the community to help shape how to interact with the environment around you. The message of the interpreter being passed in the mail, through magazine articles, instagram ads, and other forms of media, so the message can be passed along. However, there is a perceived stigma with the sharing of ecological information, almost as if the information isn’t as important, the news tends to focus on the outcomes of global warming like storms and tornados and sinking land masses, however if news sources were to better share ways to reduce carbon footprint and to increase the renewable energy, Then the general population would be able to potentially change habits and slow down these negative effects. Therefore a strong nature interpreter should be able to communicate with all types of learns as well be able to convey their message over different platforms to reach a broader audience. Another quality would be patience, as learning doesn’t come easy to everyone and this can become frustrating and being patient will help to prevent the learner from quitting before they understand the concept.
In the most recently covered unit, we discussed some of the different learning styles like verbal, active, sequential or other styles of learner; as well how to better teach these other styles of learning by using a wider array of tactics. Introducing other forms of media like podcasts, posters, brochures, mail sources as well as informational videos could allow for a broader message to get across that would better suit a wider range of audiences. I tend to explain with words and story telling as I am a verbal learner, however the use of infographics, mini quizzes/ activities and other forms of media to better engage other types of learners would help me to become a better nature interpreter. Even though my passion lies in pharmaceuticals, I have always had a soft spot in my heart that has led to make conscious decisions about how I take care of the planet. I hope to further develop my communication skills by increasing the ways that I convey my messages to reach a boarder audience.

Mexican biologist Yuliana Bedolla
Off Mexico's west coast, the Baja California Pacific Islands are key global nesting sites for 23 seabird species and Natividad Island shelters 90 percent of the breeding population of the Black-vented Shearwater (Puffinus opisthomelas).
Mexican conservation biologist Yuliana Rocío Bedolla Guzmán, Director of the Marine Birds Project at Grupo de Ecología y Conservación de Islas (GECI) says that invasive mammals like cats and rats wiped out at least 27 seabird colonies in the past.
The researchers have been working with fishing cooperatives to decrease the likelihood of reintroductions that would lead to expensive eradication efforts.
"In 2021, we created the local community group “Líderes Comunitarios'' formed by enthusiastic and committed women who have received formal training on island biosecurity and bird identification, and are becoming agents of change in their communities," Bedolla says.
Recently, Bedolla won a 2023 Whitley Award from UK charity Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) and will use the funding to boost the role of local women and fishing cooperative.
"The goal is to continue preventing the accidental introduction of invasive mammals on Natividad and San Benito Oeste islands by actively involving local leaders and fishing cooperatives in biosecurity protocols," she says.
"My Grain of Sand"
Bedolla grew up far from the sea in Moroleón, a small town in central Mexico, where she enjoyed being out in nature.
"But I had my Eureka moment when I learned to snorkel when I was 12 years old at a beach in Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, in the Mexican Pacific," she says adding that she remembered a feeling of amazement, wonder and a new sense of connection to nature.
"That experience was life-changing for me and marked the beginning of my journey as a conservationist," Bedolla says, "From that moment on, I knew I wanted to become a marine biologist and contribute with my grain of sand."
She would go on to study Marine Biology at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, learning to dive and study coral reefs and associated invertebrates on several islands in the Gulf of California.
Bedolla would contact GECI in the course of her masters degree and years later, after a Phd in Germany, GECI offered her the directorship of the Marine Birds Project.
Bedolla says that being from the Global South helps her to bring diverse perspectives and approaches to scientific research, which can lead to more innovative and creative solutions.
The San Benito Islands, which is among the islands Yuliana Bedolla is trying to protect from invasive species
Yuliana is a marine biologist, graduated with honors from the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS).
She is a Master in Coastal Oceanography from the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) and a PhD candidate from the Justus Liebig University of Giessen in Germany. For her doctorate, she obtained a scholarship in Germany. Yuliana speaks Spanish and English and has basic knowledge of the German language. Her doctoral research focuses on the foraging ecology of three petrel species that nest in the San Benito Archipelago, in the Pacific of Baja California.
She began collaborating with the Ecology and Conservation of Islands Group, A.C., (GECI), in 2009 as a field biologist, and is currently the director of the Seabird Project, which aims to restore and conserve seabirds through the use of social attraction systems in conjunction with systematic monitoring, research and environmental education. She has carried out numerous research studies with national and international institutions. Her scientific publications in international journals focus on the response of seabirds to environmental conditions, the parasites that infect seabirds and the response of native fauna to the eradication of invasive mammals.
She has collaborated with several national seabird conservation programs and has been directly involved in environmental restoration projects in Isla Isabel, San Benito Archipelago, Banco Chinchorro and Arrecife Alacranes, related to the eradication of invasive rodents for the benefit of seabird colonies, among other island species. Her activities at GECI include project planning, staff coordination and supervision, applied research and monitoring, environmental education with local communities and dissemination of information in conferences and scientific reports and publications.

Brace yourselves. When I said that the first major assault of Technocracy’s Omniwar against humanity was SARS-CoV-2 and mRNA “vaccines,” I warned that the next assault would be more vicious, malevolent, and destructive. Now, the stage is set for the next declared “pandemic” that will be solved by more mRNA “vaccines.” The militarization and radicalization of forces to silence all dissent and cries for help will not stop. ⁃ Patrick Wood, TN Editor.
Public opinion surveys and polls all say the same thing. More Americans are doubtful that getting vaccinated over and over and over again is a reliable way to stay healthy. Especially since the extreme response by governments to the World Health Organization’s coronavirus pandemic declaration in 2020, more adults have lost trust in doctors and public health officials. Some have either personally experienced a COVID-19 shot reaction or know someone who has died suddenly or is suffering with chronic poor health problems after getting the shot. 1 Others can’t forget being fired from their job or being denied medical care or a school education for refusing to get a COVID shot, while others are still unable to access social media accounts that were suspended for simply talking about COVID shot reactions. 2 3 And now, just about everybody knows that mRNA COVID shots don’t prevent infection and transmission of the disease. 4 5
These negative experiences have prompted a growing number of Americans to question whether they or their children really need to get a flu shot every year or need many other government-recommended vaccines.6 7 8 9 10
Doctors call it “vaccine hesitancy,” and almost always blame doubts about vaccination on what they call “misinformation” published online. 11 In January 2019, World Health Organization (WHO) officials at the United Nations declared that “vaccine hesitancy” is among the top 10 threats to global public health. They defined vaccine hesitancy as “the reluctance or refusal to vaccinate despite the availability of vaccines.” 12
That 2019 WHO declaration triggered a global culture war targeting vaccine hesitant adults and their children, who are labeled “anti-vaxxers” for propaganda purposes. What followed was an orchestrated assault on freedom of thought and speech led by doctors working for industry, medical trade and government, who collaborated with media outlets to demonize and punish people who disagree with them about vaccination. 13

DISSERTATION VS. THESIS: SIMILARITIES AND INSIGHTS
Embarking on a graduate degree journey, whether it's a master's or a doctoral program, brings exciting challenges and opportunities for academic growth. As you strive to become an expert in your field, coursework, research, and projects take center stage. Among the important milestones in many graduate programs is the completion of a thesis or dissertation. Although these terms are often used interchangeably, they have unique similarities and differences.
In this article, we'll explore the similarities of thesis and dissertation to offer clarity to PhD students and those aspiring to pursue advanced degrees.
What is Thesis?
A thesis is the pinnacle of PhD journey, representing the culmination of your research and intellectual growth. It is a scholarly document that demonstrates your expertise in a specific field by addressing a well-defined research question and contributes new knowledge as well as insights to the academic community. It requires thorough literature review, meticulous data collection, and robust methodology.
Read more here for helpful tips on writing your PhD thesis.
What is a dissertation?
A dissertation, unlike a thesis, is a more extensive and comprehensive research project that is typically required for a doctoral degree. It serves as the final requirement for earning a Ph.D., requiring submission and defense. This document encompasses all the details of your original or expanded research on a new or existing topic. As a Ph.D. candidate, your dissertation showcases your expertise and contributions to the field, demonstrating your ability to conduct independent research.
Dissertation vs thesis: Key Similarities
Final Projects: Both a thesis and a dissertation serve as final projects that are required for graduation from their respective programs. They represent a student's academic journey.
Understanding: Both require a deep and accurate understanding of the research problem, showing the candidate's ability to engage critically with the subject matter.
Specific Research Questions: Both forms of scholarly written pieces must address specific research questions. They require a clear focus and aim to contribute new insights or expand on existing knowledge.
Academic Writing Skills: Academic writing skills are imperative for a thesis as well as a dissertation. Both require adherence to proper citation styles, formatting guidelines, and academic conventions.
Ethical Practices: Ethical practices must be followed while collecting and documenting research data. Both demand integrity in handling and reporting research findings.
Plagiarism Avoidance: Plagiarism is not accepted in either thesis or dissertation. Originality and proper citation of sources are essential to maintain academic integrity.
Analytical Skills: Both use analytical skills to support the findings and arguments presented. Students must demonstrate their ability to critically analyze data and draw valid conclusions.
Defense and Completion: A student has to defend both the completed thesis and the dissertation to obtain their degree. Successful defense is necessary to demonstrate the mastery of the subject matter.
Topic Selection: Both require students to choose a topic for research and create a comprehensive work that demonstrates their skills and knowledge acquired during their studies.
Structure and Format: Both have a similar structure and format, typically including an introduction, literature review, methodology, findings, and conclusion.
Proposal Requirement: Students writing a dissertation or thesis often need to create a proposal before starting the final paper. The proposal introduces the main aim and objectives of the forthcoming document.
Delving into the nuances of a thesis and dissertation is essential for PhD students. As you embark on your academic journey, remember to stay informed and seek clarity on the requirements of your program. And for those seeking a unique opportunity, consider participating in the prestigious EDAMBA Doctoral Thesis Competition. Take your research to new heights and showcase your expertise on a global platform.

Unveiling the Visionary: Dr. Maria Montessori and Her Enduring Legacy in Education
Have you ever wondered how children learn best? What sparks their curiosity and ignites their passion for knowledge? Enter the remarkable Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and educator who revolutionized the way we view early childhood education.
Montessori Method: Mixed Age Learning!
Early Life and Inspiration:
Born in 1870, Dr. Montessori's life took an unexpected turn. Initially drawn to engineering, she defied societal norms and pursued a career in medicine, becoming one of the first female doctors in Italy. Her work with children with disabilities sparked a deep interest in their unique learning styles and potential.
The Birth of the Montessori Method:
In 1906, Dr. Montessori was given the opportunity to work with children from a poverty-stricken neighborhood in Rome. It was here, in a small classroom called the "Casa dei Bambini" (Children's House), that she began to develop her revolutionary approach to education, now known as the Montessori Method.
Cornerstones of the Montessori Method:
The Montessori Method centers around several key principles:
Self-directed learning: Children are encouraged to explore and learn at their own pace, following their natural curiosity and interests.
Hands-on activities: Learning becomes an interactive experience through the use of specially designed materials that stimulate different senses and encourage exploration.
Mixed-age classrooms: Younger and older children learn and collaborate together, fostering a sense of community and mentorship.
The Montessori Classroom:
Step inside a Montessori classroom, and you'll find a vibrant and stimulating environment. Instead of rows of desks, you'll see shelves stocked with specialized materials like geometric shapes, puzzles, and practical life tools like pouring liquids and fastening buttons. These materials are designed to be self-correcting, allowing children to learn independently through trial and error.
Beyond Academics:
While the Montessori Method incorporates traditional academic subjects like math, language, and science, it goes beyond rote memorization. Learning is presented in a way that is engaging and fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
A Global Impact:
Dr. Montessori's ideas resonated with educators worldwide, and Montessori schools can now be found in over 100 countries. Her legacy continues to inspire educators and parents who believe in nurturing children's curiosity, fostering independence, and empowering them to become lifelong learners.
