basically, the missingno ramble came about bc i always thought that initially, pokemon were always supposed to be able to be turned into data and shit. eg, how pokeballs even work, how the pc works, how trading works, etc.

this is kind of long ( not really but a few paragraphs ( nevermind i made it longer. ) ) so im gunna put it under a readmore just so i dont irritate ppl in whatever tags i put this in

idk if theres evidence for this, it just feels like pokemon implied that more and has been recently backtracking and going "oh no theyre not actually like DATA lol." and kind of retconning it. but maybe im pulling all of this out my ass but idk it felt early gen pokemon was much more in that sort of direction. there were a lot of different directions in early gen pokemon in general, i feel

ANYWAYS given that i subscribe to that more than whatever theyre doing with the canon explanations for shit now ( also not helped by my general fascination with technology, ai, and glitches esp in fiction and how interesting they are if written well ), i think missingno is just . a glitched pokemon. which obviously. but. Like. it used to be a pokemon. they can be made easily if something fucks up in the data transfer from physical to pokeball or pc or during trading or something like that.

well, maybe not easily- i imagine missingnos are only made from particularly bad cases of this. complete malfunctions and breaks, probably. which would also be why missingno and glitch pokemon like the bad egg, M', female symbol, ? symbol, whatever other ones you can think of were much more prominent early gen and pittered out more in later games ( not entirely obviously, but yknow ) - technology advanced more and became more secure so these types of things happened less often.

and i think in terms of possible mew clone, they are clones of mew that could not turn into ditto because an error happened technologically. instead of biologically/physically, which is how ditto wouldve been made. why are they in the shore? who knows. maybe theyre kind of thoughtless and just somehow get physically dumped into the cinnabar shore. god knows why its kind of hard to integrate game glitch to actual story/lore but by god im doing it.

anyways. because of this in strangled red, i think missingno isnt an all powerful entity. i think its just something that fills miki's corpse with garbage data and puppets her around like a zombie. which would be oddly fitting for a pokemon that i think could be caused by a trading fiasco or other technological malfunctions that happen to pokemon in those sorts of things.

miki just got the worse of it physically, not glitch-wise. she just died. which, at least she got to go out and not be in eternal limbo. until, well, steven stepped in, but who knows if shes even sentient enough or if her soul is even in missingno-ified miki at all. i think its slightly there, just a fragment of it- but its mostly a husk.

when the trading incident happened, i imagine that if there's an error the failsafe in whatever trading mech you use immediately sends the pokemon back to the original trainers, but something screwed up in the wiring so she likely turned physical at the wrong time while still in the trading tube, which then ended up with the wires being wrapped around her neck, or maybe even stabbing into it.

i like to think in the strangled red universe it's a not very common thing that maybe even was the first or only reported incident. steven and mike just got extremely unlucky.

... which probably did not help stevens rage about the incident, losing his prized unique charizard who could evolve faster than any charmander ever has, and tank supereffective damage easily amongst other things and to the fact that it probably only happened to him. or at minimum a few other people ever.

why does steven know about missingno? likely tales when he was in cinnabar during his original journey about it. strangled red is a year or so before the canon story but i doubt the mewtwo thing happened exactly a year before reds story, so missingno still being there. yknow. makes sense if you think it exists like how ditto does. ( failed mew clone ) .

the only reason missingno has power is because it is a glitch, it is corruption, physicalized - in a way it was not meant to be even further than how a glitch is. pokemon can turn into data. you can see how that'd work. anything that can be digitized in the pokemon world, it has power over. i imagine something thats meant to be there like a normal pokemon or human would get corrupted by it if it touched or remained in an area too long, or if it were commanded to attack. which is why missingnos in universe have insane levels, odd or stolen cries ( along with the fact some of them just used to be a normal pokemon likely ), and are physically just a jumble of data or taking images from random pokemons appearances, and even the skeletons or ghosts of them.

ironically they are like miki, but if miki after the incident corrupted digitally and physically, and went into a state of limbo instead of outright just dying due to technical malfunctions. they probably barely remember their former lives or what they were supposed to be and become very mindless.

i also think this has interesting implications for the trade incident if it ever happened again with pokemon with trade evolutions. i don't think they'd die, i think they'd become corrupted in a similar but different way to missingno - like an unintentional and glitchy evolution akin to porygon-z.

anyways.

steven is desperate for anything and everything to bring her back, and maybe tried multiple methods beforehand if you think he was that desperate, but hey. missingno worked. even if miki's just a puppeted corpse being controlled by a mindless thing that used to be a pokemon. who is ironically, controlling a corpse of a pokemon.

If twisteds could talk, their voices could be distorted/gurgled as the ichor could literally be also choking them. If not then I guess they just make animalistic noises lol. Or.. they could be repeating they know right before they got.. twisted.

besides Vee, her voice could be glitchy as fuck or making random glitchy noises, she’s a robot anyways.

Astro, possibly would tell a toon he just fucking tore apart “sweet dreams” once they died, hoping that their in peace now, but carrying more guilt.

Dandy is the only one who has full control of himself, but his voice could still be either the same, or slightly distorted as well..

So for poppy it’s mostly gurgling / zombie esque noises. Occasionally she mumbles something about how the ichor hurts, or how she has to complete the machines.

Boxten gets a bit more voice lines, occasionally he’ll quietly call out stuff like ‘ guys ‘ or ‘where did you go? ‘. There’s of course some gurgling- maybe even he sings a little- to the tune of a disoriented music box, in an attempt to calm himself.

Now Shrimpo makes more animalistic noises, more so growling and a bit of gurgling. Occasionally he utters something like ‘ I HATE the dark ‘ or ‘ I HATE the cold ‘ or maybe even ‘ I hate THESE STUPID TOONS MAKING SO MUCH NOISE ‘

I don’t imagine Tisha speaking much, maybe she hums softly or remarks on how dirty this place is.

Toodles straight up makes animal and gurgling noises. Maybe she will have a throwaway like for when it’s a blackout that she doesn’t like the dark.

Brightney is pretty similar to poppy in that she makes more so gurgly zombie esque noises. Occasionally she may reference the other toons and her need to find them because the dark can be dangerous. Maybe she’ll reference specific toons and remark toodles is afraid of the dark or that Rodger has been more jumpy lately so the dark won’t do him good.

I’d imagine razzle and dazzle humming as well when they’re idle, since they can’t really move. Both when disturbed I think they speak at the same time, saying contradictory things like ‘ DIE ‘ and ‘ RUN ‘

Tbh I can’t imagine Rodger talking. If he did he’s oddly snappy, like ‘ DONT TOUCH THAT. ‘ or like ‘ YOU CANT HANDLE IT ‘

Teagan is also a zombie noise person, maybe she remarks about the tapes and how she needs them. She needs them or dandy is going to kill them all. . .

Goob just sobs. Hes scared, he’ll call out to the toons and says he doesn’t want to be alone. He wants a hug- he call if anyone wants a hug in a weak voice. And most devastatingly, if there is a scraps in the party, he’ll call out to her.

Meanwhile scraps is more manic, laughing manically while chasing toons, maybe even taunting them. If she’s looking, perhaps she has a moment of clarity and calls for goob in a more concerned voice (she has additional voice lines about how she’s worried about him if there is a goob in the party)

Okay here's a little updated post about my thoughts on Chester and Norris vs Jon and Martin.

They're absolutely connected in some way. There's plenty of reason to think so. Getting the "some of him" statement (case? is that what they're called now?) after the tragedy of Jon and Martin not knowing how much of Jon would be left if they banished the entities? That's too obvious to ignore. And the glitchy names in the credits too is a good reason to think it's Jon and Martin's voices, not just Jonny and Alex's.

But I think we're forgetting that Protocol can be listened to standalone from TMA. Any connections between the voices in the computer and other characters are not going to be a big thing, lest it become confusing for new listeners. So perhaps they're a version of jmart, but I don't think they're *our* jmart, similarly to the parallels between Alice and Tim. Come on, an office flirt who copes with jokes and has a younger brother they absolutely adore? Yeah Alice and Tim parallels are going *hard*

If the third voice is Jonah we won't know for a while because it's not Ben voicing it, so it won't be Elias's voice.

I'd also like to put forward the idea that maybe this universe doesn't have the entities as we think of them? Clearly these cases have been happening well before Chester and Norris showed up, which is presumably when the fears would have been pushed to this reality if that's what happened. What this could mean exactly I'm not sure. Maybe they're even more amalgamous than before, lines blurred more than the previous fears or maybe no lines at all. The filing system seems to reflect that fact, imo. There's so many different ways you can categorize things, it's basically futile. Gwen and Alice's argument over Zombies or Reanimation is a perfect example. Zombies WOULD have been fine. Because zombies are just reanimated dead people. Maybe the verbage of "reanimation; partial" is more specific, but zombies is by no means incorrect.

I totally started rambling on a completely unrelated topic but yeah, here's my thoughts for ya.

QSMP Ending + Headcanons

So although they teased a possible reboot or season 2 of some sorts of QSMP, I assume that not every player is returning for it. Which is fine! The fact they came and enjoyed for even a little bit is wonderful. I think a reboot can give the chance of new players joining without the worry of overcrowding or feeling overwhelmed.

But it did get me a little sad about some their characters so I have a few headcanons for the endings of qsmp characters. And I encourage other fans to share their headcanons of their favorite cubitos because it's fun and helps immortalize the qsmp.

Q!Mariana with his Aztec Godly powers approached a disheveled Q!Slimecicle and gave him a choice to go up to heaven with him so they can be with juanaflippa. No more mistakes, no more misclicks, no more corruption. Q!Slime grabs his hands and gladly accepts the offer and they fly up to the sky to meet an angelic juanaflippa. And they all backflipped together in heaven forever <3 (might draw something inspired by this, im running on crumbs)

Q!Etoiles after practicing for a while has successfully learned how to manipulate his glitchy powers and uses it to glitch out of Quesadilla Island (or the world) to search for new bigger bosses to fight. Starting his quest to becoming the best pvp player he can be! (might draw q!etoiles art because i just love the design potentials)

Q!Fit and Q!Pac take the days slowly. Really learning about each other and never taking time for granted. Letting their relationship develop as naturally it can be. Oh and they both take care of a zombified Q!Mike who wants to eat their brains but tries not to. May or may not accidentally start a zombie apocolpyse but no matter. They've survived worse, they can survive anything as long as they have each other. (might draw zombified Q!Mike because I just think it would be fun lol)

Her adoptive human family doesn't really understand her, but they do their best to love her anyway

Perpetually grumpy (and downright feral if you get on her bad side) during daylight hours but the life of the party at night

Has already decided her professional moniker will be DJ Batty (she keeps hearing about these Vatores and their lavish vampire parties... maybe she can DJ for them one day)

Nat has a dark form that's a little more bat-like than her regular appearance! (in my experience, it's easy to accidentally link human/dark forms in CAS and overwrite one or the other, so be careful)

Back to the beginning

Chapter ???: Slice of Strife

(there are two (2) endings)

Previously on Sugar Crash Void Bash:

Emmanuel strains and shudders from both the pain of being shot with an energy beam, and from being shocked by the cage’s bars. He finally has Jonathan fully enveloped in Slick’s shadow form. Now all there is left to do is pull him out.

Ramón wails as he slams the golden halberd down into the jewel repeatedly. Gilded Cobra slithers over to the fusion, unhinging his jaw and going in to take a finishing bite. Ramón looks over once again and shrieks,

“NOOOO!!!”

This time sobbing in terror. There is not much time left before Razz separates back into Ice and Tippy.

Now:

Emmanuel attempts to pull Jonathan into the shadows with him. Beleza sees this and sends Gilded Cobra to take care of it. The snake stand opens his mouth and sprays corrosive venom all the way up to where Emmanuel and Jonathan are. Razz kicks and kicks at Beleza, but it appears to no longer have an effect on him. 

Emi is blasted in the face with the venom, shrieking in agony as it burns his flesh. Slick Shadow accidentally pulls Jonathan through the cage. Both men are sent plunging to the ground, both being killed instantly.

Ramón screams at the horrific sight, tears pouring down his cheeks. Emmanuel’s face is completely destroyed, his head is corroding all the way through from the venom. Both men are deceased. The teen lets out a mournful wail and continues to smash the gem with the halberd. One of the strikes to the gem causes Beleza to jerk backwards and release Razz from his grip.

Gilded Cobra slithers back over to Razz and sinks his venom-filled fangs into his back and abdomen, sending corrosive venom all throughout the inside of his body. Just as quick as the snake stand’s bite, Razz’s fusion limit is up. He splits back into Ice and Tippy, both bearing an identical wound. Ramón ditches the halberd and gemstone, clambering to his fatally wounded fathers. 

“No no no no no, p-please don’t…” The teenager weeps. Vanilla struggles to take in a breath, but he crawls to hold Tippy in his arms. Tippy’s eyes are half lidded, indicating that ze is about to die first. Ramón falls to his knees at his parents on the floor,

“Papa… d-daddy… please don’t go… please don’t leave me behind.” 

Tippy shakily reaches out zeir hand, to which Ramón interlocks his fingers in zeirs. Ice touches Ramón’s left arm gently, and looks into his eyes,

“I love you… run… away.”

That’s when the teenager realizes that Tippy has already left this life. Zeir eyes stare off into the distance, hand still clutching zeir son’s. Ramón is too stunned to even react, letting tears drip down his cheeks and chin. Ice closes his eyes and slumps over. Ramón shakes uncontrollably, releasing his hand from his deceased dad. He leans in and kisses his papa on the forehead…

This time… instead of being sad… he’s enraged.

Ramón stands up and takes off his jacket, covering both of his fathers with it like a blanket. Beleza is slowly making his way to the gem, zombie-like movements with every step. It’s clear that cracking the gem has damaged him greatly.

“I refuse to run away.” Ramón growls, his voice deep and livid. He glitches quickly over to Beleza, grabbing the lavender haired man by the shoulders. 

Beleza looks at Ramón with wild eyes and shock. 

KZZZZT!!!

The teenage boy yanks Beleza into the glitchy void with him, falling through the floor at chest level. Ramón floats away as Beleza is stuck in between the floor, having his organs and ribs crushed. 

“A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-AUGH-!!!!” Beleza shrieks, his voice and body is badly corrupted. For a brief moment, his eyes turn a dark brown and he looks directly into Ramón’s eyes. Beleza looks terrified and confused as he struggles to understand what is happening to him. 

The young boy watches Beleza fall over, dark brown eyes still open as blood pours out of his mouth. His deceased body glitches a few more times before stopping. 

After watching to make sure the man is dead, he falls back on his knees and sobs, surrounded by the bodies of his loved ones.

At the mansion

Ramón is emotionlessly brushing Erina’s hair, his under-eyes are reddened and puffy. The severed head’s expression is despondent and heartbroken at the second tragic loss of her husband. A hand with black talons rests on the teenage boy’s shoulder. Ramón slowly looks at the hand who holds him, then up at the man who the hand belongs to. 

Dio looks down at the boy with a semi-neutral expression. The room is silent, only the crackling of the fireplace is heard.

After the death of his parents and second cousin, Ramón was taken in by Dio and treated as the vampire’s son. He ended up living a very lavish and cushy lifestyle with the ancient man and woman’s head. Although Ramón now has an immense amount of wealth and can get every material object he wants… nothing will ever be the same…
