A WIP for the Royal 4 AU I share with @glassesblu (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
In this AU, ddEmmet is a royal mage who was raised in isolation to reduce allegiances to anyone but the influential family he would some day be given to.
ddIngo has a past shrouded in mystery, and was *given* to the king (Mermmet) as a slave, though the king doesn't quite understand and thinks that ddIngo is instead an "expert."
A lot of shenanigans and magic induced trouble happens, and while things are being solved, ddEmmet and ddIngo become friends.

Excluded: The Dark, The Flesh, The Slaughter, The Lonely (I only have 10 fingers, I'm afraid)
💥Inspired by u/GlassesBlu at reddit's designs of the Fears!!!💥
I love incorporating my current brainrot into my appearance so that poor, naive people casually ask about it and I have a reason to rant :P My mother was my first victim
I explained The Stranger to her and she said "so like aliens? Are they American?" I shat myself

Mermmet
Gift for @glassesblu I was trying for an iridescent scales look, but it turned out more like malachite. Not quite what I was going for, but interesting in itself!

Pocky Game! Pocky Game!
ddIngo is so excited for Pocky Day! (Never mind that II/II just makes him think of himself and Mermmet, and Wife Ingo and ddEmmet) It's a fun day where he gets to play the pocky game with his guys!
But Mermmet doesn't quite understand the point of the game, the exciting tension of biting closer and closer to the person, to be within kissing distance-! He just thinks his Nii-san is being silly, and if he chomps the pocky in a big bite, that puts him closer! (Or perhaps he thinks that's how you win...) ddIngo doesn't have much time to be disappointed, though, since he gets the kiss he wants X)
hehehe This is super cute! I really love it! Perfect for the holiday!

Last Line Game
@bakageta tagged me in a meme game with the following rules: make a new post and provide the last line or so of your latest project, art or writing, then tag as many people as there are words (or as many as you want)
Last line I wrote was ... [skipping a few docs that are less fic-y or are currently in a boring recap]:
You decide that this is untenable. Something has to change. And there’s one thing that you think will either shock you out of it or prove you to be a lost cause, but will at the very least will give your violation and your nightmares a face to rage against. You have to see it.
For the Eddie-centric Venom Separation 5+1 fic. (Are any of us following the "last line" rule to the letter? I doubt it.)
And the last line I drew was probably one of these ones, likely near the moon:

Happy Birthday Riso! (uwah, it's supposed to be 7/31 but I'm so so late) 🎂🎉🎁
Anyway, you've been pretty interested in ddEmmet lately, so I thought this might be the perfect opportunity to give you what you want! I hope you enjoy! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
This takes place shortly after ddEmmet escapes his universe, falling into the Normal AU universe via a portal.
Title: A New Start Word count: 2,222 Synopsis: Emmet from the Dead Dove AU has escaped his universe and found himself in the Normal AU. Due to his experiences, Nobori makes him extremely nervous. But will he have to continue feeling such fear? Dynamic: KudaNoboEmmet
Nobori had gone through life with absolute certainty that he had everything he could have ever wanted. At only 27, he had the job of his childhood dreams, wonderful pokémon companions, and excellent employees that he considered to be friends. Most importantly, the love of his life was by his side throughout all of it.
Early on, he and Kudari had realized the depth of their feelings for each other, although they did stumble somewhat clumsily through their early teens around the obvious. They confessed at the same time, pausing in surprise before hugging each other in relief that they'd once again matched each other.
They were a two-car train, and Nobori had long thought that's how they would stay. But that was before a strange occurrence happened in their Subway which changed the tracks upon which their train traveled.
Their shifts were always pretty busy with challengers coming to attempt a win against the Subway Masters. Kudari was extra excited that day - he'd seen several trainers at his last challenge that day. No one had managed to best him, but many of them had been on Kudari's radar lately and he was thrilled to see their improvement. As Kudari happily talked about who he thought would finally beat him first, they were making casual rounds through the Subway. It let them check on their agents, make an appearance amongst the regular travelers, and generally stretch their legs.
However, they spotted an Agent hesitating by a restroom that wasn't frequently used by the passengers - it was too far out of the way to see much in the way of traffic. Asking what was going on gained them the answer that a strange unidentifiable sound had been heard, only to be followed by choked sobbing. The agent was in the process of encouraging himself to step inside; if someone was hurt, he needed to help, but it could just as likely be a strange, dangerous pokémon.
Kudari didn't need any more details after the word 'sobbing.' He stepped past the agent without pause, large steps quickly taking him inside. Nobori dismissed the agent with an encouraging word, and followed Kudari in. The confused stiffness of his twin's shoulders as he stood at the doorway of one of the bathroom stalls had Nobori peeking past him.
There, huddled on the floor and completely without clothes, was a young man who looked nearly identical to Kudari. If Nobori had been alone, he would have confused them for the briefest moment until he noticed all the little differences that starkly contrasted his brother from this scared and shaking man in front of him. His brother never looked this harrowed, for example, as though he were tired beyond measure. Not that he let his gaze linger, but he spotted various markings on the man's bared skin; amongst the abrasions and bruises there were also what seemed to be tattoos.
When Nobori's presence was noticed, however, the young man's eyes widened and he hyperventilated himself into passing out. It froze Nobori in place. Nobori knew some people thought he was stern - but that had been the first time anyone had looked *scared* of him. Thankfully, his twin was quick to act, and Kudari's call of "Nobori!" snapped him out of his stupor.
A short hospital stay later, the young man agreed to stay with Nobori and Kudari in their home; though he didn't talk much, it seemed to be accepted as the only option he had. They brought some of their own clothes for him, which fit him perfectly. After he changed out of his hospital gown and into an outfit that mixed black and white, he said his name was Emmet. He knew his way around Raimon, trailing after the two of them as if it was expected of him. Even though he looked longingly at the various display foods in restaurants they passed, he softly denied any offers to grab something for him. It was difficult for Nobori to not give someone who looked like Kudari everything they wanted, but it was also rude to insist. The walk to their home felt longer than ever before, and Kudari carried the conversation the entire way.
For the first few months, not much of their normal life changed. Emmet did everything he could to be unobtrusive. Except for meals, he spent much of his time in the guest room they set up for him. Emmet's relationship with the pokémon was confusing; interactions with them were mechanical, but he was immensely knowledgeable of all their partners food, health, and wellness needs. He offered to do the chores while they were at work; when Nobori and Kudari insisted he should focus on his recovery, his simple answer of 'I still need to be useful' worried Nobori to his very core.
Questions asked of Emmet by Kudari gained a gentle, timid answer; when Nobori would offer the same type of query, Emmet stammered out quick, self-sacrificing responses. Even with matters as trivial as asking for suggestions for dinner were met with a desperate need to answer with whatever would please Nobori. Kudari even confirmed that it wasn't such a way when he was alone with Emmet. It was as though Emmet wanted to avoid upsetting Nobori at all costs. Nobori himself didn't want to upset anyone, especially not someone who looked almost identical to his twin.
Curious, too, was how Nobori noticed Emmet sneaking peeks at him. If Nobori was alone in the living room, the feeling of eyes drew his attention to the hallway, only to catch Emmet dipping back into his room. Shy, or maybe nervous, glances up through his eyelashes when Emmet would join them for meals at the dining room table. More than once, Emmet had settled himself on the floor near Nobori's legs, expectant look in his wide, silvered eyes. Emmet's confusion with Nobori's inaction was mirrored by Nobori's confusion on what was expected of him.
One day, Nobori and Kudari had a split shift which left Nobori at home during the day. Thinking he could bond with Emmet over food, he began to make them a lunch with foods that usually cheered Kudari up right away. Not long into his preparation, he felt eyes on his back. Making sure to be as casual as possible, he smiled over his shoulder at the shy man peeking out from behind the kitchen doorway. Asking if Emmet would like to help, a relief warmed Nobori's chest when Emmet nodded and stepped into the kitchen fully. Although Emmet stayed mostly quiet through it all, they made the food together, and shared a pleasant lunch.
It was the first time he and Emmet felt like twins; despite sharing Kudari's face, Emmet felt as though he wasn't quite sure how to be a twin. Nobori wasn't sure what made him think such a thing - up until a few months ago, they were complete strangers. Perhaps he'd just always expected an inherent connection with his twin, and to feel that lacking in a man who was identical to Kudari challenged what he'd always known.
But, he felt the lunch had been a good start. Hopefully, Emmet would find comfort in being around them and be less hesitant to share his needs. With that in mind, Nobori very excitedly told Kudari of his shared lunch with Emmet when his twin came home.
--~~*~~--
When Emmet had dragged himself through the portal, he had no idea what he would find or that he would even survive it. But, it was an improvement either way, because something within him knew he was not going to survive where he was. And so, he'd fallen through, hoping against hope that he could be free.
Finding himself once again in the Battle Subway, he felt the hiccup holding back his tears escape his throat, interrupted only when someone with his own face (and white clothes) stared back at him. The moment of confusion was shattered when his brother peeked over the shoulder of Himself, and everything went black.
The realization that it was not actually his brother came when he awoke in the hospital. The person was Nobori, not Ingo, and the Him he saw was Kudari. Still, they looked almost exactly like he and his brother, though Ingo's gaze was more neutral and less like a glare.
But that could be a farce.
How many times had others believed in Ingo? How many times was he ignored because Ingo's natural expression was a frown and everyone knew it? He himself had been fooled. Thinking that maybe *maybe* this time his brother would be kind for once.
The soft tones that Nobori tried to use were sweet but what was hidden behind it? Did Kudari believe him? Was Kudari safe? Kudari's smile seemed real. Kudari chatted happily with him and Nobori and never held back his words. Kudari was firm with Nobori sometimes. They discussed things and shared input. Kudari easily held Nobori's hand - it was not forcefully taken.
But it could still be a farce.
He took to watching Nobori when he could. Most of the time, Nobori would try to smile to him, and invite him to join whatever he was doing. Nobori offered sweets and attention and kind words. He gently helped Kudari take care of their pokémon, and laughed along with his brother. Chores were shared, when Emmet himself did not complete them, and never was Emmet even expected to contribute.
Nobori never touched him without asking, inappropriately or otherwise. Nobori did not regiment his day or restrict what foods he could eat. Nobori did not take advantage of Emmet sleeping, or when he was not feeling well. Nobori's concern for him felt sincere, but he struggled to accept it was real. Nobori looked confused at him anytime he offered himself to him - his certainty that Nobori would try and gobble him up just like Ingo seemed to take the man by surprise.
But it could still be a farce.
Trust in Kudari was easier - they had the exact same face, the same smile though Kudari's was brighter. Emmet felt a strange connection to Kudari, as though he were looking at himself. When Nobori would ask something of him, checking Kudari for approval helped navigate conversations. Taking Kudari's hand felt safer.
Kudari's smile made him feel... happy. And soon, with Kudari's assurance allowed him to believe that he could trust Nobori too. That Nobori would not try to hurt him. That Nobori was good and kind and Kudari loved him with all of his heart. Nobori was his strong and brave older twin, and Kudari trusted him with no question.
It was strange, but welcome. Emmet wanted to trust Nobori, and with Kudari there, he could try.
And then, Kudari said he had a good idea.
--~~*~~--
Emmet was scared of Nobori. Kudari thought that was verrrry surprising. After all Nobori was definitely not scary. Nobori liked bad puns and cheering people on. Nobori took his coffee so full of cream and sugar that it might as well not be called coffee. Nobori cried in joy when Chandelure made an especially cute sound. How could that be scary?
But. Emmet was still scared.
He didn't want to talk about it but Kudari was patient. After months and months, Emmet finally admitted that he wanted to trust Nobori even though he was scared. And of course Kudari would help! He didn't want anyone to be afraid of his older brother. And Nobori was so sad every time he talked of Emmet shrinking back from him. The enthusiasm Nobori showed when Emmet actually made and ate lunch with him was sweet. It was proof that Emmet was ready to move forward on the tracks.
Kudari wanted to form a harmony between his brother and Emmet.
So he decided on an excellent strategy! It took a little set up but Kudari was determined. The concept was simple. Kudari and Nobori would go to bed like normal. After Nobori fell asleep, he would get out of bed and switch places with Emmet. Kudari knew it would be lonely without Nobori in the spare bedroom. But he could manage it for one night. And if Emmet could switch back if he wanted to at any point.
In the end, Emmet did not switch back until early in the morning before Nobori woke up. He worried that if he stayed longer Nobori would notice. It was probably true! But Nobori didn't seem to notice. Nobori's soft, sleepy smile upon seeing Kudari as he woke up was normal. He gave Kudari a good morning kiss like normal before they sat up in bed. Nobori stretched and suggested breakfast like normal. His enthusiastic "Good morning!" to both Kudari and Emmet was normal.
But this time, Emmet returned the good morning with just as much fervor. Kudari smiled into his morning protein shake as Nobori noticeably perked up. Encouraged, Nobori began to talk excitedly with Emmet as he continued to make breakfast. In fact, Nobori talked with Emmet even through eating breakfast too. Watching them both, Kudari thought it was good that he planned this for the weekend. Otherwise, Nobori would have talked until they were late for work.
And this time, Emmet was more than happy to reply.

These are all important points and I'd like to share my view, both of blankship and of this situation in general.
First, I appreciate that you (morbidly-curious-monorail) have asked us what we think instead of assuming. It's something I've never seen before. Thank you.
Second, it's normal for people to be morbidly curious about taboo and you've approached it with a generally open mind. It's also normal for the response to be "I want these brothers to kiss each other" and nothing more interesting than that. I like blankshipping because I love their bond and their characters and exploring the taboo angle of a romantic connection between them. I also like blankshipping because it's cute when they kiss.
On the other hand, I (and a lot of other shippers) are not engaging with this conversation to "justify" our enjoyment. Glassesblu gave a lot of fantastic reasons for why blankship is compelling, but in the end we don't need, nor do we ask, for approval to imagine a fictional pairing of two New Yorkers.
I'm sure some people ship it out of spite, but a lot of us don't think about people who hate the ship unless they send us threats. We're not answering your questions to "improve our image" with the wider fandom. Approval or disapproval of this fictional ship is irrelevant to me and many others. If you're approaching this question from that perspective, you likely won't get the response you're looking for.
I'm not worried about being offended, so if you have more questions my DMs are open.
It is time for an introduction.
Let us be perfectly clear- we do NOT support blankshipping. We are not a fan of its existence, we do not take any joy in it, we do not approve of it.
But let us give you the definition of Morbid Curiosity.
"Morbid curiosity is colloquially described as an interest in or curiosity about unpleasant things, especially death."
This may not involve death, but the curiosity is certainly killing us, and the topic is most definitely unpleasant. So we will ask what we came to ask-
Why? What drives you to enjoy blankshipping? What sparked it? Where does such inspiration come from? Is it some form of guilty pleasure? Is it something you committed to to enrage others, or is it genuinely something you enjoy? These questions and many more plague us.
Genuinely anything you have to say about it, we would like to know. Not out of any joy for the subject- we do in fact loathe this. But that burning need to know why is far stronger than any other feelings we have for the subject. You will not receive judgment if you do choose to message or send an Ask our way, but we do ask that you remember the fact that we are not supportive, and thus will not express any form of support.
Thank you for your time.

Hi! I was wondering if you could possibly answer to a post I have created under the blog name questioninqthings (it can also be found in the Blankshipping tag). I'm trying to get as many participants as possible for a larger sample size. The topic is on antis vs. Blankshippers. I am personally perplexed by the controversey that it causes, and I want answers from both sides.
If you do decide to answer, thank you in advance!
I have already answered this kind of thing in this post https://www.tumblr.com/glassesblu/742458907454275584 I will copy paste my answer on to your post if you wish

I was suddenly hit with emotions and ideas thanks to @belltrigger and @glassesblu’s Reverse!ages AU (Old!Emmet and Young!Ingo). The dialogue is taken from one of my fav films, ‘The Last Unicorn’.
This is my own idea for this AU. I thought of Emmet, after years of unable to find Ingo and coming to terms that he might be gone forever, has to completely remove himself from his work and passion with trains because it reminded him too much of his brother. On his road to recovery, he decided to quit his job at Gear Station and trained to take over Uncle Drayden’s position as Opelucid’s Gym Leader. By the time Ingo returns, Emmet’s already settled into his place as the Gym Leader for nearly a decade and confident he has moved on...OOP.

So I've been going through some of your old fics and aus (which are great btw), and the one that REALLY stuck out to me is the Fae AU (I'm a sucker for them). The one about 'having a human husband is all the rage'. Just that tiny summary you gave was enough for me to immediately start thinking of my own ideas.
I'm primarily using my own headcanons, but I imagine fae aus as having a more superstitious society. Knowledge on how to avoid faes at all costs are drilled into children at a young age, and in general faes are viewed as demons by humans due to lack of knowledge.
In a scenario where Nobori is the fae. Obviously he's gonna have a more... refined and gentlemanly approach to it all. Build up trust, court him properly, even if it's a tad rushed. Not that Kudari is aware. He's been getting to know this strange man who keeps essentially hovering around him, encountering him whenever he goes outside in a more wooded area, and keeps giving him gifts and food that he awkwardly accepts yet never knows what to do with. Sure, the man is... charming, but even with the somewhat mutual feelings, the superstition is making him unsure. Keeps him from eating anything.
Until the one time he agrees. Next thing he knows, he's stuck in the fae realm, and apparently he's already, technically, married to Nobori. Accepting those gifts, even if half-heartedly, counted.
At least Nobori is nice about it. He's very happy about the marriage, and treats him very well. But Kudari is still somewhat conflicted, since this goes against everything he's been taught. But he warms up eventually. It's freeing, being away from all the suspicion and distrust from his previous life.
And then for a somewhat funnier scenario where Kudari is the fae. His method is somewhat forceful and overly enthusiastic. He already found the perfect human, he's been eyeing him for quite sometime, he just needs to snatch him.
And he does. Just needed to pretend to be an injured old human, and Nobori came rushing to his aid. The iron was a tad annoying, but he got that off and now Nobori is at his place. Step one is successful :D
Now if only he can get his new partner to eat.
He knows it's only a matter of time. Mortal humans require sustenance, and while he would *hate* for Nobori to be in pain or hungry, he knows that hunger will wear down his stubbornness. Even if it hurts to see.
Meanwhile Nobori is terrified, but also vaguely flattered. He got kidnapped by a fae who seems enamored by him, and while he's certainly very insistent, he doesn't physically force him to eat even though it's well within his powers to do so.
But the fae- Kudari, as was later revealed- won't let him go, and the hunger is starting to be painful. Their previous sessions of Kudari trying to playfully convince him to eat while he keeps his eyes off the food and mouth pressed shut are starting to get serious. Kudari is genuinely growing concerned, something Nobori vaguely appreciates, and Nobori is slipping. The food grows more tantalizing by the second, and his stubbornness is shrinking.
Despite the circumstances, it's not bad here. Kudari is a great host, and even with all his enthusiasm, he doesn't force him to do anything he doesnt want. Other than stay here, of course. And Kudari is growing on him, he's charming. Nobori never felt this wanted before. Maybe he should eat the food?
Anyways, what do you think? I know that the fae au idea you proposed is like a year old, but what wouldve been the plot? Who's who/what? Was I close to any of the story beats?
Enough of my yapping, thanks for reading this.
Hello there!! ヾ(•ω•`)o Thank you for the message! Sorry for the delay in answering, though - with the holidays and other stuff IRL going on, I've been having something of A Time.
So! Although the Fae AU is a bit older, that doesn't mean I've given up on it! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ In fact, this was an AU that I proposed to @glassesblu, since I wanted an AU that was a little bit lighter than some of the ones we had been working on at the time. Death Train AU has many different tones but has become quite a long story, with arcs and everything. The Cringo AU had just introduced some dark scenarios. Uemmet and his Knight had reached a satisfactory but temporary lull, and there was the introduction of Villain!Emmet.
The first thing to figure out was of course who was gonna be who. As you said, the approach would be somewhat different depending on who was who. In this case, we chose for Nobori to be the Fae, though we used ddIngo and ddEmmet as the base versions for this AU. I don't know how familiar you are with the ddTwins, but I don't think knowledge of them is necessary to understand the dynamic in this AU - it's just a detail that may possibly be of interest to you.
The basic plot is, of course, that having a human husband is a popular fad amongst the Fae, and so Nobori goes out to the human world to find his own. He takes his position amongst the Fae very seriously, so if he were not to have a human husband, it would absolutely tarnish his reputation. The Fae in this AU are both whimsical and deeply entrenched in their fantastical society - the Fae court considers reputation to be the most valuable thing, and as it stands, being glamorous in a variety of ways is how they currently measure it. Having magical objects that keep your house clean, reciting purple prose and poetry of varying lengths, wearing fashionable clothing are all incredibly important and now..... the ability to connect so flawlessly with the human world that you can effortlessly seduce one of their kind back to the Fae realm as your bride/groom has become the New It Thing.
Humans are sort of ... cute novelties to the Fae. The Fae aren't afraid of humans, but they also don't realize that humans don't believe they exist - it's much like the world of today wherein surely some people believe in them, but it's not common. Nobori keeps himself mostly hidden, despite not realizing this, because he thinks himself so incredibly alluring that he worries that no human could resist him. But he only wants the best human, so he needs to watch them to figure out who he wants.
He comes across Kudari, who he finds in a cottage in the woods. He's instantly smitten with this human, and watches him go about his day. It's not a rustic cottage by any stretch, and is actually quite an expensive piece of property, but Nobori does not know how to differentiate human abodes. Kudari does not have to really do anything for the upkeep, but he is out in the garden often, and tends to wander around the perimeter of the house's yard.
Nobori soon finds out that Kudari does not actually live there long term - he was sent there by his parents and was soon to return home. As he watches Kudari more and more, he recognizes that Kudari looks somewhat sad all the time (despite his upturned mouth), but looks especially sad whenever he's talking while he holds a little device to the side of his face. Ever the problem solver, Nobori takes the little thing and goes out into the forest with it. When Kudari comes looking for it, following the ring-tone, he finally meets Nobori.
Nobori is all flair and dramatics, expressing that he is a Fae who has fallen for Kudari's lovely charm. Kudari is ... surprised, to say the least, and quite sincerely does not believe that Nobori is anything but a weird human guy who found him in an effort to take pictures for blackmail against his parents. Nobori does not understand any of what that means :) but he sets out trying to convince Kudari that he is sincere in wanting to have him as his husband. It's a great deal for Kudari, as well! After all, Nobori has a great reputation!
He says all this while offering Kudari some delicious Fae food - but hearing that it's all about 'reputation' irritates Kudari. He pushes away the food and says he's not interested! Unbeknownst to Nobori, Kudari is the son pawn of a rich businessman who has always pushed Kudari to maintain a perfect public image, and is currently forcing Kudari into an arranged marriage. Nobori's offer is the last thing Kudari wants!
There's bits here that we haven't really talked about or roleplayed, but eventually things get so bad at home for Kudari that he decides to escape using Nobori's offered food. Nobori is thrilled at first, but realizes that Kudari is eating it without even the slightest joy - it's a means to an end for him, and Nobori doesn't want that. He wants Kudari to be happy for the life that's awaiting him!
What happens in the Fae realm is still being worked on by me and @glassesblu but what I can tell you is that Kudari gets a little enchanted tea pot that clacks its lid to communicate and follows him around like a pet.
All of this being said-! I do think your ideas are interesting too! Your thoughts have a little bit more of the 'fae-as-horror' ideas interwoven into it, which is really very cool! I love when supernatural or fantastical things have a bite to them! Eventually in this AU, Kudari does have to come to terms with what eating the Fae food means for his life, and how being a human in a Fae realm will turn out for him. Is he going to be abandoned once the Fae is bored of him? Will he be stolen away by other Fae?
We'll just have to see how it plays out!!
Thanks again for the message! I really enjoyed reading it and wanted to answer sooner for sure! If you have the energy, I think you should write your own Fae AU! It would be cool to read, for sure!!
