Happy Birthday Riso! (uwah, it's supposed to be 7/31 but I'm so so late) 🎂🎉🎁
Anyway, you've been pretty interested in ddEmmet lately, so I thought this might be the perfect opportunity to give you what you want! I hope you enjoy! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
This takes place shortly after ddEmmet escapes his universe, falling into the Normal AU universe via a portal.
Title: A New Start Word count: 2,222 Synopsis: Emmet from the Dead Dove AU has escaped his universe and found himself in the Normal AU. Due to his experiences, Nobori makes him extremely nervous. But will he have to continue feeling such fear? Dynamic: KudaNoboEmmet
Nobori had gone through life with absolute certainty that he had everything he could have ever wanted. At only 27, he had the job of his childhood dreams, wonderful pokémon companions, and excellent employees that he considered to be friends. Most importantly, the love of his life was by his side throughout all of it.
Early on, he and Kudari had realized the depth of their feelings for each other, although they did stumble somewhat clumsily through their early teens around the obvious. They confessed at the same time, pausing in surprise before hugging each other in relief that they'd once again matched each other.
They were a two-car train, and Nobori had long thought that's how they would stay. But that was before a strange occurrence happened in their Subway which changed the tracks upon which their train traveled.
Their shifts were always pretty busy with challengers coming to attempt a win against the Subway Masters. Kudari was extra excited that day - he'd seen several trainers at his last challenge that day. No one had managed to best him, but many of them had been on Kudari's radar lately and he was thrilled to see their improvement. As Kudari happily talked about who he thought would finally beat him first, they were making casual rounds through the Subway. It let them check on their agents, make an appearance amongst the regular travelers, and generally stretch their legs.
However, they spotted an Agent hesitating by a restroom that wasn't frequently used by the passengers - it was too far out of the way to see much in the way of traffic. Asking what was going on gained them the answer that a strange unidentifiable sound had been heard, only to be followed by choked sobbing. The agent was in the process of encouraging himself to step inside; if someone was hurt, he needed to help, but it could just as likely be a strange, dangerous pokémon.
Kudari didn't need any more details after the word 'sobbing.' He stepped past the agent without pause, large steps quickly taking him inside. Nobori dismissed the agent with an encouraging word, and followed Kudari in. The confused stiffness of his twin's shoulders as he stood at the doorway of one of the bathroom stalls had Nobori peeking past him.
There, huddled on the floor and completely without clothes, was a young man who looked nearly identical to Kudari. If Nobori had been alone, he would have confused them for the briefest moment until he noticed all the little differences that starkly contrasted his brother from this scared and shaking man in front of him. His brother never looked this harrowed, for example, as though he were tired beyond measure. Not that he let his gaze linger, but he spotted various markings on the man's bared skin; amongst the abrasions and bruises there were also what seemed to be tattoos.
When Nobori's presence was noticed, however, the young man's eyes widened and he hyperventilated himself into passing out. It froze Nobori in place. Nobori knew some people thought he was stern - but that had been the first time anyone had looked *scared* of him. Thankfully, his twin was quick to act, and Kudari's call of "Nobori!" snapped him out of his stupor.
A short hospital stay later, the young man agreed to stay with Nobori and Kudari in their home; though he didn't talk much, it seemed to be accepted as the only option he had. They brought some of their own clothes for him, which fit him perfectly. After he changed out of his hospital gown and into an outfit that mixed black and white, he said his name was Emmet. He knew his way around Raimon, trailing after the two of them as if it was expected of him. Even though he looked longingly at the various display foods in restaurants they passed, he softly denied any offers to grab something for him. It was difficult for Nobori to not give someone who looked like Kudari everything they wanted, but it was also rude to insist. The walk to their home felt longer than ever before, and Kudari carried the conversation the entire way.
For the first few months, not much of their normal life changed. Emmet did everything he could to be unobtrusive. Except for meals, he spent much of his time in the guest room they set up for him. Emmet's relationship with the pokémon was confusing; interactions with them were mechanical, but he was immensely knowledgeable of all their partners food, health, and wellness needs. He offered to do the chores while they were at work; when Nobori and Kudari insisted he should focus on his recovery, his simple answer of 'I still need to be useful' worried Nobori to his very core.
Questions asked of Emmet by Kudari gained a gentle, timid answer; when Nobori would offer the same type of query, Emmet stammered out quick, self-sacrificing responses. Even with matters as trivial as asking for suggestions for dinner were met with a desperate need to answer with whatever would please Nobori. Kudari even confirmed that it wasn't such a way when he was alone with Emmet. It was as though Emmet wanted to avoid upsetting Nobori at all costs. Nobori himself didn't want to upset anyone, especially not someone who looked almost identical to his twin.
Curious, too, was how Nobori noticed Emmet sneaking peeks at him. If Nobori was alone in the living room, the feeling of eyes drew his attention to the hallway, only to catch Emmet dipping back into his room. Shy, or maybe nervous, glances up through his eyelashes when Emmet would join them for meals at the dining room table. More than once, Emmet had settled himself on the floor near Nobori's legs, expectant look in his wide, silvered eyes. Emmet's confusion with Nobori's inaction was mirrored by Nobori's confusion on what was expected of him.
One day, Nobori and Kudari had a split shift which left Nobori at home during the day. Thinking he could bond with Emmet over food, he began to make them a lunch with foods that usually cheered Kudari up right away. Not long into his preparation, he felt eyes on his back. Making sure to be as casual as possible, he smiled over his shoulder at the shy man peeking out from behind the kitchen doorway. Asking if Emmet would like to help, a relief warmed Nobori's chest when Emmet nodded and stepped into the kitchen fully. Although Emmet stayed mostly quiet through it all, they made the food together, and shared a pleasant lunch.
It was the first time he and Emmet felt like twins; despite sharing Kudari's face, Emmet felt as though he wasn't quite sure how to be a twin. Nobori wasn't sure what made him think such a thing - up until a few months ago, they were complete strangers. Perhaps he'd just always expected an inherent connection with his twin, and to feel that lacking in a man who was identical to Kudari challenged what he'd always known.
But, he felt the lunch had been a good start. Hopefully, Emmet would find comfort in being around them and be less hesitant to share his needs. With that in mind, Nobori very excitedly told Kudari of his shared lunch with Emmet when his twin came home.
--~~*~~--
When Emmet had dragged himself through the portal, he had no idea what he would find or that he would even survive it. But, it was an improvement either way, because something within him knew he was not going to survive where he was. And so, he'd fallen through, hoping against hope that he could be free.
Finding himself once again in the Battle Subway, he felt the hiccup holding back his tears escape his throat, interrupted only when someone with his own face (and white clothes) stared back at him. The moment of confusion was shattered when his brother peeked over the shoulder of Himself, and everything went black.
The realization that it was not actually his brother came when he awoke in the hospital. The person was Nobori, not Ingo, and the Him he saw was Kudari. Still, they looked almost exactly like he and his brother, though Ingo's gaze was more neutral and less like a glare.
But that could be a farce.
How many times had others believed in Ingo? How many times was he ignored because Ingo's natural expression was a frown and everyone knew it? He himself had been fooled. Thinking that maybe *maybe* this time his brother would be kind for once.
The soft tones that Nobori tried to use were sweet but what was hidden behind it? Did Kudari believe him? Was Kudari safe? Kudari's smile seemed real. Kudari chatted happily with him and Nobori and never held back his words. Kudari was firm with Nobori sometimes. They discussed things and shared input. Kudari easily held Nobori's hand - it was not forcefully taken.
But it could still be a farce.
He took to watching Nobori when he could. Most of the time, Nobori would try to smile to him, and invite him to join whatever he was doing. Nobori offered sweets and attention and kind words. He gently helped Kudari take care of their pokémon, and laughed along with his brother. Chores were shared, when Emmet himself did not complete them, and never was Emmet even expected to contribute.
Nobori never touched him without asking, inappropriately or otherwise. Nobori did not regiment his day or restrict what foods he could eat. Nobori did not take advantage of Emmet sleeping, or when he was not feeling well. Nobori's concern for him felt sincere, but he struggled to accept it was real. Nobori looked confused at him anytime he offered himself to him - his certainty that Nobori would try and gobble him up just like Ingo seemed to take the man by surprise.
But it could still be a farce.
Trust in Kudari was easier - they had the exact same face, the same smile though Kudari's was brighter. Emmet felt a strange connection to Kudari, as though he were looking at himself. When Nobori would ask something of him, checking Kudari for approval helped navigate conversations. Taking Kudari's hand felt safer.
Kudari's smile made him feel... happy. And soon, with Kudari's assurance allowed him to believe that he could trust Nobori too. That Nobori would not try to hurt him. That Nobori was good and kind and Kudari loved him with all of his heart. Nobori was his strong and brave older twin, and Kudari trusted him with no question.
It was strange, but welcome. Emmet wanted to trust Nobori, and with Kudari there, he could try.
And then, Kudari said he had a good idea.
--~~*~~--
Emmet was scared of Nobori. Kudari thought that was verrrry surprising. After all Nobori was definitely not scary. Nobori liked bad puns and cheering people on. Nobori took his coffee so full of cream and sugar that it might as well not be called coffee. Nobori cried in joy when Chandelure made an especially cute sound. How could that be scary?
But. Emmet was still scared.
He didn't want to talk about it but Kudari was patient. After months and months, Emmet finally admitted that he wanted to trust Nobori even though he was scared. And of course Kudari would help! He didn't want anyone to be afraid of his older brother. And Nobori was so sad every time he talked of Emmet shrinking back from him. The enthusiasm Nobori showed when Emmet actually made and ate lunch with him was sweet. It was proof that Emmet was ready to move forward on the tracks.
Kudari wanted to form a harmony between his brother and Emmet.
So he decided on an excellent strategy! It took a little set up but Kudari was determined. The concept was simple. Kudari and Nobori would go to bed like normal. After Nobori fell asleep, he would get out of bed and switch places with Emmet. Kudari knew it would be lonely without Nobori in the spare bedroom. But he could manage it for one night. And if Emmet could switch back if he wanted to at any point.
In the end, Emmet did not switch back until early in the morning before Nobori woke up. He worried that if he stayed longer Nobori would notice. It was probably true! But Nobori didn't seem to notice. Nobori's soft, sleepy smile upon seeing Kudari as he woke up was normal. He gave Kudari a good morning kiss like normal before they sat up in bed. Nobori stretched and suggested breakfast like normal. His enthusiastic "Good morning!" to both Kudari and Emmet was normal.
But this time, Emmet returned the good morning with just as much fervor. Kudari smiled into his morning protein shake as Nobori noticeably perked up. Encouraged, Nobori began to talk excitedly with Emmet as he continued to make breakfast. In fact, Nobori talked with Emmet even through eating breakfast too. Watching them both, Kudari thought it was good that he planned this for the weekend. Otherwise, Nobori would have talked until they were late for work.
And this time, Emmet was more than happy to reply.

Emmet Appreciation Month - Day 1: Pokemon
today's headcanon is that he names each and every joltik after some form of food. sometimes it's super specific, and sometimes it's really vague!
as for his other pokemon, here are the names i hc:
Flatback the Crustle (Named by Ingo) - Type of train car
Tin Tin the Klinklang (his) - The sound of one
Wye the Garbodor (Named by Ingo) - A type of train track
Champ the Durant - Was supposed to be Chompy but he felt it sounded aggressive
Shoofly the excadrill (Named by Ingo) - a temporary track
Eight the Haxorus (Named by Ingo) - From "Notch Eight", meaning maximum power. He is also related to Drayden's Haxorus!
Fusee the Chandelure (Ingo's Starter) - A type of flare
Tunamite the Eelektross (Emmet's Starter) - Originally supposed to be "tynamite", a slight typo ended up making it "tunamite" instead. Emmet thought it was silly and kept it.
Buffet the Galvantula - the only joltik who WASN'T named a specific food
Archiealogy the Archeops - he just didn't know how to spell archaeology
Honk the gurdurr - because he has a clown nose AND he likes to honk train horns !

fuck it. presenting my new submas au from that one mashup post
#Ingo is the embodiment of Northern/Upper Unova (as Nobori) and Emmet the Southern/Lower (as Kudari) #the gym leaders may be their cities but imo I think it's better they're just. totally normal humans. with no idea. #ngl now I'm thinking the more fun it sounds to actually do an au with this lmao #kill the cringe in your head or whatever the phrase is #if the dpdc fandom is allowed to make six million Lady Gotham fics without acknowledging the 'every so often people just recreate hetalia' aspect I'm allowed to do it too #¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #lmao suck it
anyway nothing about them really actually changes except they're just. The Subway Bosses. no one knows when they started theyve just Always Been There Please Dont Ask Questions and very much care A LOT about maintaining the quality of travel around Unova (and about Unova being stable just in general). anyway that's it that's all i got folks. thanks for coming to my ted talk or whatever lmao. o7

Labmas AU - Unintended Consequences
Chapter 12 - Game: Notes
It's best to read the story first before reading these as there's definitely going to be spoilers.
I don't have an exact set up for their conversation in the break room, but it starts with Colress asking questions and Kudari answering, to which Colress would make a comment about what was said. He guilts Kudari for 'tricking' Reader into bringing him into the break room, telling him that he makes Reader look bad and that they'll be angry with Kudari, etc.
Normally, asking a question of Kudari wouldn't bother Reader, but the one Colress has in mind makes Reader feel like they are being complicit in some type of mental and emotional abuse, as it's already apparent from yesterday that Kudari knows he did something wrong.
Reader is Colress' assistant. Marcello doesn't know them well enough to know that they don't particularly like Colress, so he is playing it safe to avoid potentially getting in trouble. He's not the only one that works there, since that would mean he would never have any days off, but he is the only one Reader has seen so far. I imagine that the people that have to work at the entrance to the lab have formed a tight group, because they all know the suffering of the job.
The "blonde kid" Kudari mentions is Alvis. As I previously stated in the notes for last chapter, Alvis looks younger than he is, so Kudari only assumes he's still young enough to be referred to as a kid.
When both Nobori and Kudari consider the break room a "temptation" for Kudari, they aren't using their own words. It's something Colress has told them over the years. Kudari thinks Nobori being protective is him trying to take Reader away. He doesn't realize that Reader is starting to feel things for Nobori, but he hears how Nobori talks about them and sees how they interact. He's afraid of losing his only human friend. The game he plays is a misguided attempt at showing Nobori that he can't always protect Reader, by taking them to a place he knows Nobori can't reach. This action wasn't planned, but done out of exasperation when Nobori wants to help with feeding the Pokemon. At this point, working in the lab is probably similar to living in Gotham City. When the researchers and assistants see crazy things happen, they just shrug and go on with their day.
Colress isn't lying when he says he would have stopped his assistant from hurting the Joltik. But his reason for doing so would be along the lines of not wasting specimens, as opposed to truly being upset at his sadism and cruelty. His assistant was already dead when Colress got to the autopsy room. The other researchers and assistants didn't witness what happened, but they heard the screams and saw the clean up of the body, which gave them an even greater aversion to Kudari. This is the only time Kudari has been violent with anyone other than his brother Nobori. It was the harbinger of him being locked in his room for the vast majority of the day, and not let out without supervision.
I do not have a name for the previous assistant, nor will I think of one. He's a nameless monster in this story.

Plops down a concept for a demon slayer au. owo
Anyways I don't see the twins as current Hashira but work as Cultivators instead. Or rather Kudari works as one, teaching new slayers and retraining older members. Those who go through his training typically don't die young as most of the corps tend to. They often make it into their 30's sometimes even late 40's and are able to even retire from the corps with most of their faculties intact.
He technically specializes in teaching water style, but it’s noted he's never exuded the aura of such despite having perfect technique as well as being able to dispatch demons without issue. This sparked Rumors that he was like Gyomei/Genya using something other than the breath styles to fight the demons. He laughs theses off and just says that water is a good place to start for most beginners. Sometimes his students see him teaching a other breath styles but it’s so rare that most thing it is also a rumor made up so that those who need more help and feel special.
Amongst the higher ups though they dislike that he has sidelined himself, especially since despite not producing the breath auras he's still able to easily dispatch powerful demons. Demons that have managed to gorge themselves on dozens of humans he can easily dispatch. If he were on the front lines many argue that they would have defeated Muzan already. But instead, he remains as a teacher, only answering mission calls that require a hashira but the others are too busy to take them on.
The thing is Kudari is young. He's in his 30's at the most. It makes very little sense for him to take on the role of cultivator. Those typically are older Hashira that have managed to retire. And yet there he is. One of the very few younger cultivators not brought low by injury on the job.
When asked why he retires so young but older students he gives a vague "I'm not as strong as I use to be" and no one is ever sure what he means by that except a select few.
What the younger slayers don't know is that he had a brother. And there's still legends about a pair a hashira that absolutely devastated when they get called to the field, granted they were normally called for fighting the moons or even mass outbreaks of demons as Muzan moved through an area trying to cover his tracks. In fact one legend even covers their supposed death. With it stating that on a route mission the two ran into Muzan and despite being unprepared and tired from previous battles attempted to take him on. And they almost succeeded too had Muzan not fought extra dirty, turning more and more of the towns folk into demons as they tried to flee the scene resulting in the two having to split from one another. The one was left to deal with the demonized townsfolk eventually cleared them all and ran to catch up with the other only to come to the scene of Muzan feasting on their corpse. And after that the other was turned into a demon, only they refused his influence and burned to ash in the morning light. Or so it goes. The story itself is meant an example of how powerful and cunning Muzan and be and how being a slayer you will have to lay your life on the line. And as the story gets retold who the pair are changes, from brothers to lover and even father and daughter. And the ending even changes from telling to telling but none the less most younger slayers walk away with the idea that even two almost legendary Hashira were bested my Muzan so they must stay on their toes.
Its Kudari's favorite story to tell his students.
And they were none the wiser to the fact that he spoke of himself and his brother Nobori. Who disappeared that night after going to confront Muzan. All he knows is that his blade had been shattered and there was no body in sight. Many speculated that he was eaten but Kudari thinks otherwise.
He suspects that Muzan wanted to test if he could turn a hashira and he might have succeeded.
As for Norbori, he was turned into a demon that night and as soon as he realized what was happening, he made an attempt to end his own life, but Muzan anticipated such and made sure to prevent him from doing so. He forces him to shatter his own blade and then suppresses Nobori's will until they can get away from the rising sun. Since then, Norbori had been rallying against his control with little success. However, he is a nuisance. He might not be able to break free, but he doesn't obey like the other's infected by Muzan. Even those who fought against Muzan at the start broke quickly. But not Nobori it is taking time and they annoys Muzan. However, he's a strong demon. Almost as strong as an upper moon despite only having a small dose of blood and never eating human flesh. The downside is that he actively tried to end his own life, so he isn't able to leave Muzan's side. And due to that Kudari is never quite sure if his brother is alive or not. All he has is a gut feeling. That is until Muzan comes out of hiding and they get photographic evidence that Nobori is still alive! And so, starts Kudari's mission to get him back and possibly return him to a human state.

back at it again with??? an au from a dream??? it was set very specifically After PLA by maybe? a year or two im not sure.... but i managed to remember their outfits very well so heres some refs and i have a story and Some lore to it because it was surprisingly coherrent, gonna put it under a read more tho cuz its Long :)
(gonna copy paste this directly from discord because i cba to rewrite all this lol sorry enjoy my ramblings <3)
the au i dreamt was like. frenzies start happening in the current day to just random ass pokemon and nobody knows why its happening and an organisation called Organisation H (the H stands for Harmony) rises up to look after them all to try and find a cure and a few gym leaders and powerful trainers go to the organisation to help out with collecting frenzied pokemon and getting their own pokemon looked after just incase they also get infected but its turns out the organisation is actually BAD and was the one who created the frenzy and is using it as a way to steal pokemon and is using their hold on these pokemon to like... control ppl and they force the gym leaders and trainers to go out collecting other ppls pokemon under the guise of "looking out for them" when in reality they just wanna control ppl.
emmets one of the ppl who goes in to help out and his galvantula becomes frenzied and hes like VERY. stressed because
1) thats his BABY and shes HURTING ppl 2) he cannot tell the outside peeps whats actually happening lest they hurt his team or him 3) this means hes technically being kidnapped every so often so he gets seperated from ingo and that makes them both stressed considering hisui
ingo turns up at one of the warehouses where they have emmet stationed cuz they formed a like... vs organisation to help those affected by frenzies without being SHIT ABOUT IT and to also try and help those who have been like... """kidnapped""" and ofc emmets not allowed to go with him cuz they will KNOW hes gone (they have everyones outfits fitted with trackers) and he doesnt have his team because the organisation also took them and he cant leave of his own free will cuz the anxiety that theyll hurt his team is also like. killing him but ingo fucking KSHGKGHS chases him when he runs and has a pokemon paralyse him in lue of him "being taken against his will" so the organisation isnt TOO sus but he was also just like
"WE ARE NOT BEING SEPERATED AGAIN. COME HOME FUCKER"
they take him somewhere safe and fucking handcuff him to his bed and are like "we KNOW youre scared of them finding out and we KNOW youre scared for your team but for fucks sake youre not allowed to leave please stay here"
emmet: i shouldnt be here they will know and hurt my team
ingo rattling him: if you try to run i am going to be So mad for you please please please just dont try and escape
emmet vibrating in his seat in anxiety: mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmokayyyyyyyy
thought of the convo they have after his paralysis finally gets cured and emmet is SO scared to talk cuz if they organisation knows he talked then theyll def hurt him/his team so hes like. very shaky and refusing contact and ingo is ofc stressed for him and emmet ends up fucking KSGHKGHS throwing up after ingo starts talking to him cuz his anxiety is so bad.
ingo: i know youre scared... and im scared for you but i cannot lose you again. after hisui i dont know what'll id do if we were seperated again but i cant just let you go, despite wanting to be there for your team. we promise they'll be okay we wont let them do anything to them-
emmet flapping his hand infront of his mouth: i- hand me- trash can-
ingo: ah shit
i had the hc he chews on his hair but i was thinking during the years ingos in hisui his therapist manages to like. kick that tick of his by going "its dangerous to chew on your hair and swallow it. it could hurt you. do you want your brother to know you were hurting yourself when he was away" and hes like NO!!!!! so he instead swaps it out for stim chew toys and it helps skghskghs but during their convo he starts biting his hand cuz he doesnt have anything else and ingo keeps slapping him like "stop that stupit."
the organisation outfit was ALL white so at first he was like :D !!! but i think after having to wear it so they can keep tabs on him he starts like. reacting badly to having to wear all white clothing KSGHKGHS so hes like "im so sorry ingo but our epic black and white combo might have to be postponed until im not traumatised </3"
oh yeah emmet also was growing out his hair (both facial and head hair) to match ingos hisuian look but he had it cut at the organisatiion shorter than he usually likes so he also feels OFF and when next to each other they look quite different.........
emmet very specifically had the jacket over his shoulders in my dream. he did a like. evil ass fuckin pose where he slipped on the half glove and pointed with his coat billowing behind him and ingo looked shocked so it was prolly after realising organisation h is BAD but emmets still working for them. emmet stays just because he doesnt want more of his friends and family to get involved/hurt despite being forced to work for the bad guys </3
some of the organisation members also wore like.... masks with creepy smiles on them?? to hide their identity when stealing pokies obviously skhgkgsh but i dont think emmet wore one since hes a figure head and is there to "keep up appearences that everything is TOOOOTALLY FINE AND NOT EVIL <3"
their (organisation h) whole thing is just. white basically but they also have pinks and plant related colours because their logo kept coming to me as plant based some reason
theyre called harmony because they supposed to be there to help and calm but obvs thats jsut a cover for their fucked up deeds </3
think they have a colour based clearence system and for those that are gym leaders/ powerful trainers etc.... powerful trainers like emmet are given green clearence so they can come and go between the poke holding docks to help since theyre tasked with collection because you have to be strong to catch a frenzied mon without pokeballs... frenzied mons specifically cannot be caught and have to be fainted to like... lead into a cage or summit for transport so the organisation saw emmet joined and was like "ohohoho yesss- you are working on collection and dealing with particularly dangerous mons okay? ^_^" and he was like ":D okay!!! that is the best situation for me because i am very strong you know! :)"
Okay that is all if you read all of that youre insane but also I hope you enjoyed  lmao <3

Nobori and Kudari AUs At a Glance pt.1
Hello! Hi! So, I made a long post about the Dead Dove AU, and it got me to thinking! There's a lot of AUs floating around between me and Riso, and honestly not all of them have been talked about publicly! You might have seen some art from Riso but!! I thought it might be convenient to make some "at a glance" style posts discussing the slightly different angles of each AU.
Some notes may be vague, both because some things might have to stay secret for maximum impact, but also because I may not have thought of it yet.
Also, although I call select AUs 'shared,' Riso and I collaborate on all of the AUs. Shared ones are simply the ones we conceived of together, instead of coming up with the idea and subjecting each other to our brain worms.
~~~*~~~*~~~
Bot Emmet AU: Synopsis: Ingo wants to be everywhere all at once, so he decides to build a copy of himself. During the process, he realizes he's actually deeply lonely, and turns it into a brother, friend, and companion instead. Waking up before Ingo expects it, Emmet builds his own personality and becomes a real companion to Ingo, instead of a fabricated one. Spin-offs: Horror Amnesia 'au.' Nobori: Excellent with all things of a mechanical nature. Because he has felt emotionally isolated from others his whole life, he has trouble understanding his feelings and emotions; this also leads to him going quiet when he doesn't understand what he's feeling. Incredibly dedicated to his job and providing excellent experiences for everyone who comes to the Subway. Wants to do the best for Emmet as well as the employees in his charge. Rather serious, but he also loves to discuss electronics and programming. He will info dump if given the opportunity, and enjoys deeply discussing topics of interest to him. He is also incredibly wordy. Has a penchant for continuing thoughts out loud, not realizing that others have not been hearing his thoughts and being suprised when they confused. Kudari: Ingo is more important to him than anything else, regardless of his programming. He enjoys supplementing his knowledge via searching the internet. Has an overwhelming and inexplicable need to learn how to use nun-chucks. He's capable of taking pictures with his eyes, and has dedicated folders of pictures of Ingo. Because of how he was built, he is unable to stop smiling. Since the agents of the Subway are Ingo's guys, they are also his guys. He considers the subway agents to be like ducklings. Sometimes he will stand stock still in corners because he has found a strong signal and gets distracted with searching for things he finds interesting. Doesn't understand Ingo's verbally continued thoughts more than anyone else, but he joins into the conversation anyway. Romance Dynamic: Emmet initiates. Ingo is initially shy about it, and worries that he forced Emmet into it by programming him improperly. Ingo's entire sexuality and comfort with his body expands upon sharing his feelings with Emmet. Extra Tidbits: Ingo is trans and Emmet does not identify with any gender (and has completely interchangeable genitalia attachments). Fics: Build a Companion for Yourself, Nobori_Search.exe , Meet
Bride of the Black Dragon AU: Synopsis: Emmet has been chosen as the Bride for a ceremony which gives someone to the local deific figure, The Black Dragon. Unfortunately, Emmet does not know much of what this entails, and fears that he has been sent as a sacrifice. However, when he arrives... Nobori: Honorable and strong, Ingo is well-versed in all aspects of being a gentleman and a scholar. His background is similar to a prince's upbringing, so he speaks formally and with poise. When he is more comfortable with someone, he relaxes some, but still speaks overly formally. Has a playful side, and likes to thump his dragon tail when he's in a good mood (this translates to his human form as well). Kudari: Just wanting to live a normal life, he's at first intimidated with being forced into such a dramatic life. When left to himself, he's naturally curious, and likes to explore. His self-esteem is somewhat low, and he believes deeply that he's painfully normal. Gets extremely bashful when given compliments. Romance Dynamic: Ingo initiates. In the beginning, there is a size difference ( ̄y▽  ̄)╭ ehehe 🤍 At first, Emmet is shy, unsure, and Ingo gently builds his comfort. It's a respectful and soft love (with lots and lots of sexy times). In order for Emmet's body to adapt to special changes, he needs to take in the energy he and Ingo will share once their bond is complete. ( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧ Extra Tidbits: The fic series is still in progress. This has the potential to be a verrrrry horny AU. Any horny entries will exclusively be on Ao3 when posted. Fics: A Gilded Bride
Hisui AU: Synopsis: Ingo has certain memories that, no matter what he does, slip away the moment he tries to recall them, almost as if they are being taken from him. Despite this, for the fleeting moment he can experience them, they feel so very important. No matter what, he will find a way to remember. Nobori: Determined, he will fight to learn what his dreams mean. Although he does not seek out the help of others, his friendship with Akari allows him to accept her offer. He does not wish to cause trouble for others, and so he tends to push his own worries to the back of his mind, and instead focuses on ensuring others are safe and happy. Knows in his heart that he is missing someone deeply. Kudari: Because he is helpful to a fault, he will try and assist anyone as much as possible. Fiercely protective of Ingo, he will tear himself apart before he allows anyone or any thing to bring harm to his brother. Has a weakness for sweets. Although his speech is stilted in his native language, he takes rather surprisingly to the language in Hisui, and learns it quickly. Romance Dynamic: To be seen 🤭 Extra Tidbits: The twins have not admitted their feelings to each other in this AU yet - Ingo was thrown into Hisui before it could happen. The fic is still in progress! Fics: No Such Thing as a Bad Omen, Bonds Forged Long Ago Dead Dove AU: Synopsis: Built exclusively to explore dead dove topics, it has bloomed into something much bigger than that. Ingo is a controlling figure who explores all the interests and kinks he can think of, using Emmet as the one who experiences it all. Contains many dead dove topics, and the base AU is mostly centered around their sexual experiments. Connections: Mermmet AU Spin-offs: Death Train AU, Angel Demon AU, Pet AU, Royal4 AU, Quadruplets AU Nobori: Believes deep in his core that he and Emmet are two halves of the same person, cruelly split at birth. Incredibly high libido to the point where it is almost always in the back of his mind. Has a high need for touch, as well, and does not understand personal space when it comes to Emmet. Does have something of a mean streak, and will antagonize people when he finds it fun. Exceptionally calculating, he will plan things for weeks in advance before he acts on it, anticipating every outcome until it is acceptable to him. Kudari: A true empath, he can sense and is effected by the emotions of others. Despite this, he doesn't expect Ingo's treatment of him, and continues to hope that Ingo will stop what he's doing and they can go back to being happy like when they were young. Struggles to understand why Ingo doesn't listen to him, and tries to object to any of their activities that he does not like. Finds it difficult to not trust Ingo, and often falls for misleading words, stumbling into new scenarios. Romance Dynamic: Ingo initiates. Ingo is obsessed with Emmet, and shows it in unhealthy ways. Ingo, despite being well-read, does not understand sub-drop, and only provides the most clinical of comfort after their 'scenarios.' There is love in there, but it is twisted. Extra Tidbits: The growth between these two is instigated by Emmet's escape into another universe. Fics: Decoupled, Date Night
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Shared AUS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Royal AU: (shared with @glassesblu) Synopsis: A royal spin off of the Reverse Ages AU, Oemmet is a king who has lost his brother many years ago, and has withdrawn into himself. While he tries his best to rule the kingdom in a manner that his lost twin would approve of, he remains closed off to close bonds. However, with the appearance of a young prince, perhaps he won't be closed off for much longer. Connections: Reverse Ages AU Nobori: Young and idealistic, Ingo wants to impress all those around him and prove he is a formidable prince. When he meets Emmet, he's immediately struck with the need to gain his attention. A skilled swordsman, he is still learning the depths of court life as an adult, but is endearingly eager and determined. Despite this, he is very popular both in his own kingdom as well as in neighboring kingdoms. He is quite charming, and not prone to being bashful. One of his greatest enjoyments is making Emmet smile. Kudari: Emmet is well educated, and acts in the best interest of his country; he is a beloved king, and well-respected by surrounding nations. Because of his hard-work, his kingdom flourishes, but he is still incredibly lonely. He misses his twin, and considers Ingo's death to be his fault. It's hard for him to accept gifts because of his guilt. Able to see when someone is trying to take advantage of him or his people, he does not tolerate attempts to destabilize his kingdom. Romance Dynamic: Ingo initiates. It's very courtly, with exchanged letters and gifts and romantic poems recited to Emmet in beautiful, scenic locations. They like to flirt in established court manners, and be as romantic with each other as possible. Extra Tidbits: This AU instigated the Death Train AU, because Ingo did *not* accept that Emmet was left behind and unhappy after his death. So, he jumped off the Death Train, where normally Ingo and Emmet wait for their counterpart to join them, and forced his way into reincarnation to rejoin Emmet. Fics: Back to Back on the Battlefield, Double Heading
Unicorn AU: (shared with @glassesblu) Synopsis: Ingo is a humble hunter in the service of the Queen. He is highly skilled in navigating the woods, and makes sure to not disturb nature beyond what he must. However, those woods contain a beautiful being that the Queen covets among all things. When Ingo captures the unicorn of the woods, he does not realize it will bring harm to the creature. Meeting the unicorn years later, he realizes that he needs to free him, so as to save the unicorn from wasting away. Nobori: Down to earth, Ingo is very self-sufficient. For a very long time, he was loyal to the kingdom, and followed the Queen's commands to the maximum of his ability. Although he is a hunter, he's very kind to the forest, and offers words of respect when he needs to hunt any animals for any reason. Although he is usually straight-forward, he gets tongue-tied at Emmet's beauty, and becomes incredibly bashful in certain situations. Has a great sense of honor, and is dedicated to anything he sets his mind to. When the situation calls for it, he will fight to defend that which is important to him, but he prefers a more peaceful approach. Very strong physically, and loyal with all of his being; it was difficult for him to stop being loyal to the Queen, but his devotion ultimately lies with Emmet, who he chose in the end. Kudari: Sweet beyond measure, he protects the woods he lives in, though he does not do it through force. Simply, his presence cultivates gentle plant growth and healthy animals of the forest. He does not resort to any sort of defensive measures, and is kind to all who approach. Because negative emotions are fleeting to him, he quickly and easily forgives, providing the offender apologizes sincerely or seems honestly repentant. Does not like the feeling of clothing when in human form, but seems unconcerned with shoes that completely cover his feet (open shoes such as sandals cause many sensations that upset him, since he is used to hooves). Misunderstands when things are temporarily offered to him - considers them to be gifts. After Ingo offers his coat, he begins to consider Ingo his Knight, and shares his magic with him. Romance Dynamic: Emmet initiates, though both are quite inexperienced in matters of romance, and Emmet truly believes that Ingo instigated by giving him the hunting coat. Emmet is open to most anything, but does not understand innuendo in any capacity. Extra Tidbits: Due to becoming Emmet's Knight, Ingo becomes immortal. They make cameos in the Death Train AU, because they must check in on occasion. Here, Emmet frequently holds tea parties for any visiting Emmet and Ingo. Fics: None yet, but Riso has made so much good art!!! (this is just a sample because I love his face here!!!)

I like to think about how yandere!Kudari handled Nobori's disappearance in the serial killer au. A big feature of the AU is the trust that the brothers have for each other, Kudari is still overbearing and possessive but that's because he genuinely believes that other people will steal his brother if he gives them a chance. Nobori winning the Nimbasa's bachelor popularity poll didn't help with this and he brings it up whenever Nobori tries to reassure him that no one is gonna steal him.
'Nii-san is so amazing that everyone wants him for themself. I have to protect him' is a common train of thought for Kudari to have. It's easier to pick up on Kudari's red flags, too, since Nobori is much more subtle. So people have tried to intervene and 'save' Nobori before and that reinforces Kudari's paranoia. No one knows how to take care of his brother like he does, they're the only ones that understand each other, it would kill them both to be separated.
So when Nobori disappears, Kudari's convinced that someone kidnapped him. He relies on his brother a lot for mental stability so once the two of them are separated, he starts to act more erratic. Rumors start up that Nobori ran away because of him. It absolutely kills Kudari inside and in his darkest moments he genuinely considers it. He thinks about what he'll do to make sure Nobori can never leave him again. He's never once hurt his brother but in those moments he considers it if it means he can keep Nobori by his side forever.
But Nobori promised that they'd always be together. And Nobori never breaks a promise. Something MUST have happened.
I think there are two potential routes from there. One is that Kudari ends up killing someone and because he's so distressed, he's not nearly as careful. He ends up on the run and everyone thinks he must have killed his brother. He dodges the police while searching for Nobori and the two of them end up in Hisui together. Hisui is a great place for them! It's so easy to get away with murder. But Kudari definitely needs time to recover and he probably gets sick from all the stress. Nobori nurses him back to health and in the process starts to regain his memories.
The other is that he manages to hold it together until Nobori gets back and then they carefully plot out revenge against everyone who hurt Kudari while his brother was away <3

oh the idea of emmet wearing flashy accessories is so cute!!! like imagine their darling complimenting him and saying how cute his hair clip is and asking where he got it. and of course he’s like oh do you want this here you go no no you like it more than i do here do you want to wear it. and of course they wear it to work all the time out of appreciation- it is really cute! and makes them think about emmet
He probably has some very elegant barrettes that he uses to keep his hair out of his face; I also think he and Ingo like jewelry; They can enchant it with magic and protective spells, and also- it's shiny.
But I get off topic and somehow wrote a drabble about this? So here ya go-
Under cut because long

Emmet takes off his hat very rarely when he's in the station- Both he and his brother are always so strict and rigid in how they carry themselves when working at Gear Station, especially among the public. When they're alone in their office, as you've noted, they tend to become more relaxed, at least, to a certain degree. Ingo would be as quiet and serious as ever, and his frown never gone from his face, and he usually stays seated at his desk, filling in papers and talking loudly with depot agents on his X-transceiver- But you noticed more than a few times when you'd quietly entered the office without alerting him that he'd play with tossing his pen up in the air and trying to catch it in entertaining ways, leaning back in his plush chair and swiveling around- And more than once you caught him breaking into his brother's mini-fridge of decadent sweets and stealing one for himself.
Emmet definitely relaxes more when he's in private- Whether it's just out of sight of the more public areas of Gear Station, or happily relaxing in the privacy of his and his brother's office- You can tell from the way his shoulders drop sharply and his eyes and smile soften, and how he starts happily swinging his arms and legs that he's genuinely lightened up. But, one thing you'd noted was that they never ever take off their hats or gloves so long as they're on the job. Ever.
Until one day.
You've were told to bring them some important documents from the archival rooms- Boring paper nonsense- But still, an excuse to see you nonetheless, from their perspective! And Emmet was alone in the office while he waited for you to come by. Happily sipping his excessively rich and decadent chocolate milk he'd come to love so much- Human sweets could be quite tasty, he'd realized, if you just increased the sugar and fat content by a little more than double what's considered normal.
He fiddled with the brim of his hat. You'd be in the office soon. Disembodied eyes opened and shut around him, inspecting his coat. White, white, perfectly white- Not a stain, not a speck of dust would be allowed! What would it say to you, his beloved darling, after all- If the wondrous, all-powerful, radiant Kudari allowed himself to appear before you in such an uncouth state- His perfect appearance marred by mere physical dirt? He would not stand for it. He fidgeted some more- And stood up, pacing. Ingo was off finishing some battles on the Singles train, he knew- And here he was, desperately studying himself with a hundred of his eyes floating around him, checking- Any and all dirt removed, every stray fiber from his perfect coat- And no extraneous feathers or limbs or mouths- Perfect! His teeth looked human, too.
Now when would you be here, and- Ah!
He noticed it, and a ring of his disembodied eyes suddenly opened forcefully- circling 'round the offensive detail, focusing and staring intently-
A small tuft of his silver bangs had gotten messed up from fidgeting with his cap so much. He swiftly removed his hat, revealing a pretty pair of hair clips that held his bangs up under his cap. They were a deep, crimson red, and decorated with lines of gold and a strange, opal-like material. He removed them, and the bangs fell down- Messy, unkempt! Simply awful, he thought- And obscuring his normal, human eyes- Quite a safety hazard!
"Hello, Station Masters?"
You hadn't even knocked, and Emmet flinched harshly- The eyes around his head forcing themselves shut painfully as you entered-
"I am- I am in here-" He exclaimed rather nervously, torn between asking you to step out for a minute and just shoving his hair under his hat so messily-
"Ah, Station Master Emmet?" You asked again, stepping into the office- And you nearly gasped.
"I am Emmet. Yes. Why- Hold on- a minute." He hissed, not turning to look at you- He grabbed his hair forcefully and shoved the clips back in place- Why oh why had you walked in just now?
"I am- er, fixing- my hair."
You stared in amazement, unaware of the embarrassment Emmet was going through. This was the first time you'd seen his hair down! And the first time you'd seen it for longer than the split seconds when his hat came off, either briefly fanning himself or the hat falling off from a blast from a pokemon's attack-
It wasn't fair that they had such pretty silver hair- And he didn't have it held back like he normally did! You thought it looked quite striking- So that's what he was hiding under his hat? It looked so different, being used to seeing his cap on his head-
To poor Emmet, however, It looked like you were judging him and his terrible hair styling- How awful, he hadn't wanted you to see this! He quickly readjusted the cap on his head. "Sorry. I did not- Sorry. I normally keep my hair clipped back. It appears the clips are refusing to do their job. I am sorry-" The words tumbled out of his mouth, unsure of what to say. How humiliating.
His smile was tense, and you finally realized he was embarrassed- Over what? That he was wearing hair clips to keep his bangs out of his face? They looked so fancy, but you only saw a blur of color as he tried to hide his silver locks again under that silly hat-
"Oh, no! It's alright- Your hair is quite nice, Sir!"
Emmet's face turned red- But of course you should like his hair! Why not? But it was disarrayed- Imperfect- Unfit for you to look at right now.
"It looks really nice all tousled like that, you should wear it down more, when you can- And those clips looked quite nice too!"
Emmet turned his attention to you sharply- The cap came back off, and he removed the haphazardly placed clips- And his bangs fell forward.
"You think- this looks nice?" He asked; Was it not messy? You'd said you liked things orderly... neat. Clean. The fact you were complimenting his hair was pleasant in and of itself- But were you just trying to be nice?
"Mmhmm! Though, I guess your bangs are getting in your eyes like that? That's a shame. Are you thinking of getting them trimmed at all?"
Emmet flinched. T-Trimmed?
"You know- a hair cut?" You offered apprehensively- Emmet sounded- How to put it, concerned? That you had suggested a hair cut?
Emmet's hair was not made of normal human hair materials.
Emmet's hair- and Ingo's for that matter, could feel things- Could humans not? He was suddenly quite worried- But he'd heard other humans remark on how nice it felt to have their hair brushed or played with! But-
Human's hair- Human's cut their hair? He tried to recall- He'd never seen you get a hair cut. Had Miss Elesa ever mentioned such a thing...? She'd mentioned hair styles, and having hair appointments, but... cutting?
He and Ingo looked human, alright- But the underworkings of their bodies were certainly not human. His hair was like the fluffy tendril-feathers that some of his wings bore. He understood reshaping it, but-
Cutting?!
"Do you get your hair cut often...?" He asked apprehensively. How would you deal with that? That would hurt-
"Not really... mine grows slowly. Once a year, maybe twice; I get a really cheap cut so it's not like I do anything super fancy, ya know?"
"But-" Emmet began, and cut himself off. No, he'd need to be smart about this before he said something dumb- Doesn't it hurt?
"N-Nevermind..." He trailed off, running his hand across his hair.
"No worries, Sir- I'm just going to drop these papers off over on- Ingo's desk? And then I'll get going." And you went to return to the task at hand- Dropping the small collection of archived documents on Ingo's desk, studying the space briefly. Ingo's desk had a certain... antiquarian air about it, you noted
A strange quill pen adorned with a beautiful, white feather sat next to an ornate ink well- And there was a small stack of old-fashioned letter papers and envelopes, alongside documents and papers for Gear Station... And a massive ledger and binder, and a small stack of books that didn't appear to have anything to do with work. Ingo certainly liked old-fashioned things, you noted; the lack of computers on the desk proved that- And how most of Gear Station's clerical work was still handled physically rather than electronically.
Emmet turned his attention back to the mirror- You said his hair looked pretty, all "tousled" like this?
He pulled it back, getting ready to clip the bangs again- Two extraneous eyes were staring at you from behind, watching your movements intently. You kept glancing over at him! Why? Were you admiring him secretly? He blushed, trying not to direct more and more of his gaze on you- Miss Elesa told him you wouldn't appreciate him secretly spying on you, but- He couldn't help himself! You were verrry cute- And were you not spying on him right now as well? Stealing little furtive glances at him while you straightened and sorted the papers you were delivering on his brother's desk...
"Sir..." You began, looking at him still-
"Yes?!" He returned, jolting upright again- Had you noticed...?
"Would you like some help? You've been futzing with that clip for a while now..." You asked, almost bashfully. You hoped this wouldn't be overstepping your boundaries.
Emmet's eyes widened at your offer, though the rest of his face remained rigidly happy. "Yes, I would like that verrry much!" And he moved rather quickly towards you; leaning over his brother's desk and propping up his elbows as he looked up at you, he handed you the pretty clips and you studied them for a minute.
"Gosh, these are really nice hair clips! They go so well with your hair, Sir." You remarked, turning them over in your hand. "Do you like them?" He asked.
"Yeah! The color's really intense... Where'd you get these anyway?"
Emmet thought for a minute- He'd acquired these rather recently when Ingo insisted they pay a visit to one of their acquaintances in another realm in the name of "maintaining friendly relationships". You certainly wouldn't be able to visit an arcane jeweler in a distant world quite unlike anything you knew- What would you say, he wondered, if he told you of worlds where pokemon did not dwell? Of worlds where the stars were living things, dancing over an infinite dome across a infinite, unending plain of water and land masses where day was illuminated by a ring of suns and night by moons and dancing lights of clouds of nebulae- Where humans dwelt exclusively in strange towers with exactly 12 windows each, no more no less, with roads underground and gardens on the surface- And a quadrillion other infinite differences and possibilities? He was almost giddy at the thought of taking you to other places- And away from the dreadful God of this realm. Or perhaps a world where the species of pokemon were not measured in the hundreds or thousands, but in the tens of thousands!
"I ordered them." He answered. Technically the truth. He did order them; Just not the way you were probably thinking. "I see. You have excellent taste!" Aw well, you thought- If Emmet wouldn't tell you where he was getting his attractive hair accessories, you'd just have to go searching for them yourself later. They looked expensive too, so perhaps he was a little embarrassed about revealing to you where exactly they had come from...
Emmet asked you a question, though you didn't hear at first- You were already preparing to put the clips in his hair, and your hands were running through his excessively soft, silken hair, gathering up the bangs- And you'd flinched.
His hair was luxuriously soft. You couldn't quite process it, if that made sense; Thinking to yourself that yes, it was soft, and then realizing, no, wait- It was softer than merely soft- silky and light and how was it not all greasy and falling flat against his head? Painfully soft- Almost like the fur on a Wigglytuff, except even softer- The sensation of the silken hair ghosting upon your hands as you pulled away sharply.
"-Hellllo?" Emmet asked, looking at you closely. You were looking dangerously entranced, he realized.
"Wh-What was that you just said?" You asked, returning your attention to your bosses words- How embarrassing, did you really just start practically petting your boss' hair?
Emmet's smile had relaxed, yet he looked quite sheepish- trying to hide the blush spreading across his face, the delightful pleasant feeling of your fingers against his feather-fur had set him on edge, the sensation trailing through his body like a jolt of electricity-
No, he needed to stay calm! Like Ingo. Like his wonderful, far cooler, big brother always was- calm, collected, and human. He could feel his wings and hands and mouths twitching excitedly, being so close to you- And having received some semblance of physical affection. He needed to stay human. Which was difficult.
"I asked- I asked if you would like them. They are verry nice clips, no?"
"What? But- They're your clips, Sir! I have plenty of my own, I just don't wear them usually..."
"I would like for you to have them! I have many, manyy more." And with that he moved to press them into your hand- "Actually," he began, pulling back- "I have a better idea."
Without even waiting, he flicked your cap off. "I want to put them in your hair! They will look verrry cute."
He seemed quite serious. You were rather bashful about such things- But- Well, Emmet had let you touch his hair- It wouldn't be too strange if you let him put the clips in your hair, right...? Especially if he was being so insistent.
You sat down in Ingo's chair as Emmet hummed to himself quietly, gathering up your hair gently and soothingly, pushing it all to one side and clipping it in place before placing your hair-tie back in.
"How verrry cute!" He remarked, his voice rising with happiness. He thought it was cute? You blushed. He grabbed you by the arm and pulled you in front of the mirror, smiling brightly as you admired the two new sparkling crimson hair-clips, elegantly holding back your hair.
"Wow, thank you Sir! It's just- They'll be hidden under my cap for the rest of the day, are you really sure it's alright if I just wear these...?"
He nodded vigorously. "Yes yes yes, They look much, much cuter on you! Verrrry cute. Verry pretty." More gifts from him to be placed upon you, his darling little love. What other lovely little gifts could he give to you, to mark you as his own, to show the world that you belonged entirely to him and his brother-
But Ingo wasn't here right now! And- Hmm. Emmet wondered. You had his feather in your cap. Now you also had his hair clips. And you had Ingo's scale against your breast- Which made him verrry jealous, but- He had two gifts you now wore from him, and Ingo only had one! That wouldn't do.
He'd have to talk to Ingo about it later, of course!
