A combination of watching mogswamps flatworld series from the start and seeing a fic on ao3 called This Isnt The Flat World by TheoSpooderBoi, which has a really cool premise and looks like it'll explore the isolation of living in a flatworld for 11 years, has got the brain microwave in overdrive.

Taking the idea that mog was alone for 11 years roughly, surviving in a flat expanse of a world and truely thinking of the implications. Like he was 15 at the start and also mans was primarily eating rotten flesh by ep 17 (thats as far as ive gotten so far, so probably farther too). It took him a good few episodes to finally make a wheat farm lol he was not eating well. Which bring up a pretty wholesome idea where the villagers started to trade him food like cookies n stuff (ep 16 or 17 i think is when he mentioned it) but ye.

With him living through the 1.3 update where villager trading became a thing, in my head thats when he started to learn how to talk with villagers (which is a concept brought up in the fic mentioned above and makes me crazy). Im so excited to get to the episode he meets wandy t lmao.

i hate the narrative's half-assed attempt at giving ethan a retroactive redemption arc for a lot of reasons, and one of them is that like. five is literally, non-metaphorically a survivor of human trafficking. he was just passed on to an alien cult instead of the kind of people he'd have ended up with in the real world. and that is before you add in the blatant, BLATANT thinly veiled metaphor for sex trafficking in specific.

(fun game: go through just about any scene of his that mentions power or importance once ethan comes in, and replace it with sex, sexuality, and being attractive/desirable. bring one bucket to heave into and another full of bleach for your eyeballs. enjoy!)

and like, there's so much to unpack here. so much! but the fact that these books try to make you feel more compassion for--try to get you to absolve of WAY more guilt--a sex trafficker who did it for his own gain, and to save his own skin, than the child we watched him traffic is just utterly, breathtakingly magical

i know at least part of it is that there’s so few mcyts with glasses on their skins (that aren’t sunglasses) out there- i assume partially because of the stereotypes that come with glasses but mostly because they’re hard to put on skins generally- but also kind of a hallmark of mcyt fan art is making characters look wildly different than just the basic skin (and thank god for it) so why doesn’t that extend to glasses. sometimes creators who have glasses in real life (like grian or cub) will have glasses on their characters but far from regularly. (i feel like legundo and joehills are the main outliers i see for this, though the glasses people draw joe in tend to be sunglasses, and he has had sunglasses on his skins before). but also there are characters played by mcyts who wear glasses who i’ve NEVER seen their characters be drawn with glasses, like fwhip or martyn (yes i know why no one draws martyn with glasses, i’ve seen the post. i’m not. discussing that here.) and i can’t really identify a TREND or anything here i’m just sort of musing but. idk man. it kinda sucks.

i’m not really insecure about having glasses (far from it tbh i think i look kinda strange without them) and never really have been but every once in a while i remember how few mcyts are drawn with glasses and i get sad

okay since i have felt i've been really negative i am going to be positive and talk about something near and dear to my heart. fanart redesigns!

this design of braius by @phi-guy is delightful, including the mustache variant. i'm not a big fan of him as a character, but this is a great compromise with the holstein patterns on his humanoid face that previously left a few furries disappointed.

fcg is a very tough character to stylize, given the whole... aeormaton of it all and that they're so intricately designed that any attempts to move any part of their body around tend to make things they do in-game not make sense. the blades of grass emblem being revealed as bloody fingerstreaks, for one. but this design by hugo cardenas strikes a good balance between canon and fanon where you don't have to sacrifice accuracy for imagination or vice versa

imogen sadly doesn't receive a lot of redesigns in fandom and even got hate (?!) for people putting glasses on her. but for the people that do a little more than that, i would have to give my favorite design to @rokiie! it's subtle, but i love that she's musclechubby and mixed, and her curly hair and ponytail is adorable. @jadequarze also has a nice looking mog, though theirs is more angular than bulky.

ashton is another character hard to redesign... because his original design is so damned complex it feels like a downgrade to change it. so not a lot of people do and focus more on his outfit and body type. so that's why these two, by @magscherer and @ladysantos are so great! little tweaks that make him fat or simplify him are so nice

@lyadrielle has the most complex chet redesign i've ever seen. i love how in-depth it is, and even if full head of hair chet isn't canon, i still adore the fluffiness of it. also quick shout out to @colealexart giving chetney a mustache because i love it.

conversely from her girlfriend, people love to redesign laudna, if not just to pump up her creepy factor over her "bizzarely beautiful" factor. @astoriacolumnstaircase and @paragonraptors do this in a fun-scary way! i love how spindly they make her, like a praying mantis. for a more scary-scary way, @cpprcoyote's laudnas are stunningly creepy and lovely. @galacticjonah's take on her is also very cute with her billowing fabrics surrounding her like a security blanket. good stuff!

being the mixed orym truther guy, naturally i love art that makes him a man of color, and this art by @therosecleric hits the mark for how i see him in my head. i love his curls, his jaw, and his strong nose, and it's always good to give him muscles in a way that don't make him look like a tween who powerlifts. the previously mentioned @magscherer's art of him is a bit more hobbit-y but still scratches the same itch. love me a brown eyed orym. @jennydolfen also gets points for her terrific hobbit/halfling proportions

@jam-etc's critical role redesigns might not be for everyone, but i love 'em all. dorian here looks so friendly and seeing his native culture depicted so overtly in his outfit is awesome! no whitewashed dorians allowed. on the same token, here's a repeat of @therosecleric's dorian art because it also is great to see him with curly hair and a wide nose. this design by @caitmayart with dark cloudy speckles on his body is incredibly nice as well.

and of goddamn course fearne gets the most art. it's fearne! there are so many good pieces of her i could not choose one. i love ones that play up her goat-y nature, like @willowbirds, @rainbow-roll-art, and @phi-guy again. and i love fat fearnes, like these two by @marmadelin and @countslimeula. this one by @maluspumilaa is so beautiful, making her a little more fey and extremely animalistic. all fearnes is good fearnes

I have many theories actually, I’ll probably forget a few.

so there’s this one brief paragraph where Morrigan is having a nightmare, I’m pretty sure it’s in hollowpox and it talks about broken glass, plumes of smoke, a snatch of a song that seemed familiar, and the feeling of losing something like having it slip through your fingers, oh and it also mentions button black eyes. I think that this is a piece of a memory from when Morrigan was a baby and she lost her mum. And I think the song that was being sung is the one that Ezra sings to call wunder, because it mentions that she knows sqauls song.

I also think that potentially morrigans mum may have been a member of Jupiter’s unit. Because he talks a bit about morrigans mum when he brings Emmett back to her. And also how in the seven pockets did Jupiter even know Morrigan existed, he’d had employees watching over her for years, but if he’d known her mother maybe he was watching over her for her or because he was worried about her.

also I don’t really believe this one but what if president wintersea is secretly Morrigans mum. I thought this because she’s described as looking ordinary “like she could be someone’s mum” just like how lam had been described as looking as elegant as royalty. And also she’s apparently the most powerful person in all the seven pockets, so it would kind of make sense that she’d have such a powerful daughter like morrigan. And also since Ezra is so scared of her and he says he needs morrigans help to stop a bigger enemy it would kind of make sense to use her daughter against her. Also I feel like president wintersea knew to much about morrigan before they had met.

and another theory is that Mabey morrigans mum is Ezra squeals daughter, I had some reasoning for this but I forgot.

I also had some thoughts about her secretly being alive and hiding somewhere in nevermoor like maybe the silver district.

I may have more theories but I can’t remember right now so I’ll end it here.

he logs in and has to choose an origin. seems very dnd-esque? but ive never played dnd so. im guessing here.

he spends 10 minutes choosing just to settle on half elf. he gets to pick 2 skills so he picks quicker regen and most movements wont trigger sculk sensors.

he spawns in :D cleo is there :D but jim hasnt set up voice mod so. they dont talk yet. cleo just starts circling him and its really funny to me

they spawned in like a tower thing. cleo goes down and dies instantly to a bunch of mobs. after cleo dies jimmy goes down and also dies instantly. theres some weird spawn protection thing going on meaning they literally cant beat the mobs

fwhip joins and he chose one of the small classes. jimmy starts making fun of him so fwhip crits him like 3 times. jimmy then steals fwhips wood and fwhip tries to kill him again.

it takes establishing that jimmys a half-elf and sausage is a high-elf before the elf superiority starts.

katherine joins and shes ALSO a half elf. sausage starts calling him their daddy. its been 20 minutes

jim and oli meet up (and katherine follows) and olis like. im gonna show you my secret if u give me 6 things. so jimmy gives him 6 things and turns out oli can. go invisible????? and jim and katherine are like :o and are surprised he didnt pick bard. olis like well i already did that. im a mushroom guy now. and takes off his armour to show his skin (he says something about it being similar to his larp outfit which is cool) and jimmys like whats with the glasses. and oli full on whines and goes JIMMMMMMMH :( theyre my mushroom glasses.

they both die within a minute of exploring. cant say its unexpected. they get their stuff back easily enough though

after talking to like everyone jim splits off. he finds a zombie playing bagpipes and i lost my shit

lizzie mentions jims large weapon. jimmy voice "nothings too big for me" oli voice "nothings too big for jim" why have 2 separate groups made the exact same joke.

lizzie crashes and oli calls her and it goes to voicemail and he leaves a message and he ends it with a bunch of chappell roan song names. when jimmy doesnt know what he means olis immediately like THIS GUY IS NOT AN ALLY.

It was about that time where everyone can relax and unwind. It was about that time where everyone can reflect on their day, laugh and talk about moments that have happened throughout the day. It was about that time where everyone can just enjoy each other's presences and company without a worry for tomorrow's 'what ifs'.

Everyone looked forward to this time of day after dinner, where the day really set in and tension is finally released.

You were walking towards the couches in the dorm's common room to finally unwind and relax, minding your own business as usual. As you plopped down on the couch, you quickly came to realize you did not plop down on the spot you were going for. It was definitely vacant right before you sat down, so, why are you in your boyfriend's lap?! You felt heat rise to your cheeks as you heard him giggling from behind you, you rolled your eyes. Despite his mischievous actions and playful intentions, his hands were comfortably resting and holding onto your hips as if they belonged there from the beginning.

"Denki," you start trying, to keep up that annoyed façade, though his dorky giggles were making it extremely difficult to do that and you had to fight back a smile.

"Whaaaat Mama? It's not my fault a pretty girl just happened to fall in my lap!" Kaminari chuckled pulling you closer to him. You understood he'd probably just wanted to cuddle, which was most likely going to be his next question, it went like this every time.

"Can we cuddle? Pleeeeeeaaase?" He begged as he does every time. There wasn't really anyone around right now, Isabella was seen giggling and messing around with Kirishima some distance away, but they seemed to be going somewhere else shortly. You pretended to think for a moment before sighing giving him another eyeroll.

"Okay." You say, turning around to face him and he flashes you a big grin. You felt that same heat rise to your cheeks once more as you thought about the way he grinned at you when you said 'yes' to something as simple as cuddling.

He laid back against the couch bringing you with him so you laid against his chest. It was times like this you appreciated, when he wasn't being a total dunce. While you loved him for that it was nice to wind down after being pushed to your limits all day, winding down with him was even better. He removed your glasses for you so the frames wouldn't get in the way, and for once in his life he was careful with it. He set them on the nearby table and allowed you to take up as much space as you wanted against him. It felt nice to have your hair played with, and the fact Kaminari was doing it felt sooo much nicer.

You closed your eyes listening to his heartbeat thumping against his chest reflecting on the tiring day you had silently against him. At one point he started whispering sweet nothings to you, and it made you realize his eyes are on you, and only for you. Nobody else could walk in and change that.

You hear Stella's voice in the background, then Isabella's, and you hear them quiet down as they get closer. You didn't have enough energy to open your eyes anyways, and judging by Kaminari's calm breathing your boyfriend was asleep. Damn.

"I think they're asleep guys." Bella whispers sarcastically, you could hear the smirk in her voice, Kirishima was heard a little farther back.

"No shit dumbass." Selle giggles taking a picture of the two, Bakugo scoffed also seemingly further back.

"Right, c'mon they're both knocked out as fuck." Bella mutters, not before leaning towards Kaminari, "I'll give you 50 if you pinch her right now." Not a twitch. "Damn." They both walk off giggling with each other as if they'd done something childish.

Their voices fade away as you fully succumb to the sleep nagging at your brain. You didn't know it but he looks at you everyday and wonders how he'd ever gotten so lucky.

"Denki where'd you put my glasses?!" You call out to him not being able to find your glasses. You heard a nervous giggle getting closer and you turn around to face him, crossing your arms.

"Relax babes! You don't even need them! You look super cute even without 'em!!" He says thinking he's solved the problem, obviously proud of himself.

"I need them to see!!"
