Skin Diary: Whitening Laser Treatment Review (for Minor Scars) at Glam & Fab Aesthetic Center

One of the biggest downsides of being fair-skinned is that scars take longer to heal (for me, at least) and they are also very noticeable because of the drastic difference in pigments! This has always been my struggle, especially when I deal with acne or when I undergo skin procedures.

When I had my mole removed in 2014, it didn't scar badly but it took a year for it to completely match the natural color of my skin. Last August, I went to Glam & Fab for a warts/skin tag removal treatment and usually, this process has no significant downtime at all. But because my skin heals slower than most people, I had to deal with dark spots (brown scars).

They are not pitted, so they are not serious scars at all. But I have to admit that they are extremely annoying especially because they look so obvious on my lighter skin tone. I consulted Glam & Fab as to what treatment they would recommend to address this problem. They recommended that I do the "Whitening Laser Treatment".

Procedure

Whitening? I was skeptical too at first because I personally don't like undergoing any treatments that would change my natural complexion. But as they have explained to me, this laser treatment aims to "whiten" dark spots to even out the complexion and deal with the spots left by the scars.

The treatment is very simple and it only takes around 15 to 30 minutes depending on the scale of the area you'd like to treat. Check my IG reels here to watch how the procedure is done. It basically just involves facial cleansing and then straight to the laser treatment.

Aftercare Serum

I'm advised to apply hydrocortisone cream twice daily for 5 days after the laser treatment as per usual. Then to help lighten the scars quickly, they gave me this serum that I should apply after the 5-day hydrocortisone streak.

I used this twice daily as well, one in the morning and one in the evening. I had no problems using this under makeup because this serum is super fast-absorbing! I think this helped so much with the scars so it made a perfect skin treatment companion for the laser treatment.

I'm in love with it and I've been using it regularly up until now.

3 months after the 1st treatment session

I wrote *2 months* in the photoset caption below because they were taken 2 months after the last whitening laser treatment. But basically, it's been 3 months since the 1st one I got.

I have no doubts about the results! The dark scars on my neck that would usually heal on their own for nearly a year were all gone in just 3 months! Of course, if you zoom in pretty closely, you'll still see some leftover marks. But they are barely noticeable compared to how dark they were in the beginning (refer to the first photo).

🎀 gold n pink jewelry - this combo is so pretty on everything else so why wouldn’t be just as pretty on my personal adornments? ordered three gold and pink belly rings and i can’t want to mix the metals once my piercings heal.

🍨keeping a physical lookbook in my fashion diary - this year i’m not holding back. the looks are coming. the photos are coming. i want to document my fav looks, accessories, and details in real time. almost like personal portfolio.

🎀 sexy and grownifying my closet - investing in a luxurious, cohesive closet that says grown. gonna be using high heels and casual glamour to achieve this. the fabrics and cuts are extremely crucial too.

🍨 staple designer bags - if you know me you know i love designer purses. especially if they’re neutral colored and essential. i definitely plan on expanding my repertoire of bags.

🎀 customizing my wardrobe - i’m getting a sewing machine and i’m learning how to hotfix rhinestones to personalize and bedazzle anything i want to. i’m so so excited!

🍨 making my own jewelry - i’m so excited to talk about this! i’m making a kit of chains and threads along with beads and charms all in my color palette and i’m going to start popping out with so much custom made shit! body chains, waist beads, charm bracelets, just so exclusive + #prissy.

🎀 new makeup styles - been loving smoky eyes and black waterlines, overlining with a muted brown, lash clusters, rhinestones, and more sultry details.

🍨 interior lingerie - the goal is to have a boudoir that is just a sexy and alluring as my lingerie closet! sweet n sexy kitten! ❤︎︎

🎀 currently healing my gut - psyllium husk supplements, fiber, kombucha/prebiotic soda, chia seeds and an adequate amount of water have all become a part of my routine over the last month or so and i definitely feel different.

🍨 #prettiedup - bleach my hair, signature makeup routines, regular nail appointments (found a tech that i can rely on 🎀), korean skincare + african black soap, and anything else to boost my beauty.

🎀 got a personal trainer to maintain my “skinny bbl” look - i’m a tall girl with long legs and that with a tiny waist and round butt is so my look. currently training for it and i’m pretty happy so far. at this rate, by the end of march i’ll be at my goals.

🍨 building my vitamin and supplement routine - collagen, probiotics + prebiotics, maca, berberine, + some hum essentials.

🎀 my love of teas - cannot live without tea. it’s my favorite form of caffeine. and herbal teas always help me feel as if i’ve boosted my health. my favorite teas right now are green tea, matcha, and double spice chai. also love black, spearmint, and raspberry teas.

🍨 weekly digital detox - one day a week i go out of my way to avoid my phone. i simply rely on other things for entertainment, radio for music and try to interact with those around me.

🎀 hair extension wardrobe - tape ins in natural black and honey blonde, vixen sew ins with 30” bundles (i’m a tall girl so long hair to me is at least 26”)

🍨 cycle syncing - i’ve changed the way i eat depending on where i am in my menstrual cycle. i find my gut responds to the things i eat better. even with the time of day, being intentional with the way i live my life is so important to me now.

🎀 new personalized diet - high protein and low artificial sugar is pretty much what i’ve been following. what i typically eat in a day is berries, rice, oranges, lots of water, almond and peanut butter, etc. my fav sources of protein are grilled chicken, sushi, steak, salmon and eggs. of course i still like sweets they’re for sure few and far between.

🎀 trust in my intuition - it’s taken a while but i’m finally learning to trust myself. if my body is telling me to do something i do it, i don’t try to force what isn’t there, and i respect my mind by honoring the discerning abilities i was blessed with.

🍨 gratitude and thought reframing - so many things in my life changed for the better when i learned to flip my thoughts. in a glass half full fashion. it’s literally the law of assumption. i’m forever grateful for everyone and everything i have. and miss universe has only blessed me with more because i’m now so much more receptive.

🎀 no bull shit + not easily impressed - i literally have the shortest tolerance. i expect a certain standard of behavior from those that wish to be in my presence and this is because i give a certain level of care, consideration, authenticity and respect.

🍨 manifestation journal - my literal best friend. everything i write in my LOA journal comes true. i’m not exaggerating. i read it in the morning and tend to write in it before bed. i keep it right next to my bed along with some stickers and gel pens.

🎀 semipermanent beauty treatments - making appointments for lash lifts and brow microblading as we speak. also super interested in finding a great medspa in my area.

🍨 youtube #vloggingbabe🎀 - i finally made my long awaited comeback and i’ll actually be recording some of the things in this post on video. i love recording and editing. it feels like the best form of self expression to me right now! subscribe!

🎀 glam squad (esthetics, hair, nails) - i’m so anal about things being seamless and easy to remember. i like to go the same place for particular services and i’m determined to find a reliable hairstylist and esthetician that i can stay loyal to (i already have a bomb ass nail tech)

Designers and tastemakers

Very Ralph (2019). The preeminent American designer of our time, one of the very few who can stand toe to toe with the titans of Paris and Milan. To call Ralph Lauren's work "sportswear" is to call the Sistine Chapel "kind of a big painting".

Halston (2019). Speaking of going head to head with Paris, Halston did it first. Skip Ultrasuede-- this is a much better doc about the king of American 70s disco glam.

McQueen (2018). When people talk about fashion as an art form, chances are they're thinking of Alexander McQueen. Worth watching for the pulse-pounding runway shows alone.

Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist (2018). Obviously you already know about this one, but it's gotta go on any comprehensive list. Without Vivienne Westwood, punk would have been nothing but a handful of noisy assholes.

Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel (2011). My icon, my north star, my personal hero. The empress of taste and high priestess of personal style. Watch this doc whenever you need encouragement to do and wear whatever the hell you want.

The Gospel According to André (2017). Diana Vreeland's protegé and a godfather of style in his own right. If it happened in fashion in the last fifty years, André Leon Talley was there for it.

Lagerfeld Confidential (2007). I have a high tolerance for difficult and unpleasant people as long as I like their work. Your mileage may vary, but Karl Lagerfeld's immaculate, relentless taste cannot be denied.

Crazy About Tiffany's (2016). Another luxury jeweler whose name alone is the stuff dreams are made on.

Still on my watchlist

Salvatore: Shoemaker of Dreams (2020). Directed by Luca Guadagnino, which is enough to put this Ferragamo doc at the top of my list.

Advanced Style (2014). Portraits of seven women aged 62-95 with truly fab personal style. Top Letterboxd review is seething about how out of touch they are with the real world, which means I am probably gonna love it.

Suited (2016). A study of gender through clothing in modern culture.

Dries (2017). A year-- and four collections-- in the life of Dries Van Noten, who, interestingly, doesn't see the point of clothes that people can't buy to wear, and so does not do couture.

Yellow is Forbidden (2018). This doc about Guo Pei appears to use her career as a framework to understand the gatekeeping of global culture by the West. Dope as hell, if it can pull it off.

American Style (2019). The political, social, and economic history of America through its fashion. Another one that could be really awesome if done with insight and panache.

Quant (2021). She may share the credit for inventing the miniskirt with two other people, but it cannot be argued that Mary Quant invented 1960s Swinging London. And for that we say thank you Dame Mary.

My current daily glam:

I use hot rollers to set my hair into 1940s big Hollywood curls. I use a vintage brush and comb to take it them down and really get into that vintage glamour mood. Do I put on some louboutin heels while I’m doing it? Yes. Why do you ask?

I’ve become a red lipstick wearer. Crazy how such a small change in this one detail of my makeup routine has made such a huge impact. I feel 10x more polished and put together when my lips are red. I’ve been a lip tint girl for so long that it felt crazy at first, but now that I’m used to it, I can’t go back ♥️

A cat eye and blushy cheeks are a must. I love looking rosy. Lashes when I feel like putting them on, simple brows, some concealer and a touch of powder. Easy but impactful.

My favorite part of my outfit is the thigh high stockings and garter underneath, especially when paired with a cute pair of panties. This has also become a daily thing for me and I am not going back. Skirt, dress, pants, pajamas, doesn’t matter. I love the gentle pull of the garter straps and I love seeing it peek out the top of my skirts, or just looking at it straight on in the mirror before I’ve put clothes on. I’m very leggy and wearing stockings and garters add such a huge va va voom. Literally obsessed.

My collection of vintage marabou heeled slippers is ever growing but I can’t help it! Click clacking around the house is way too fun. And when I’m wearing my long floor length robe and satin nightie it just feels so incredibly fab.

I always have something Chanel on. Chanel perfume has been my staple for years now, but I also love their body lotion, body wash, and (some) skincare items as well. Sunglasses, bag, shoes, something must be accounted for. I don’t know why but some cute Chanel earrings and a spritz of perfume puts me in my “on” mode, even if I’m staying at home. I’m just not quite done without a touch of something Chanel.

this girl went from a trailer park to well...a bigger trailer park. but shes the most fab bitch there with her pink dyed poodle and juvaderm filled lips. she learned to be glam from her grandmother, who passed down tips like always wear matching underwear in case of a car accident and never give out an accurate number of lovers. proudly trashy and cheap, but never mean-spirited.

lotion: VS strawberries and champagne smells like it wants to be fancy but just can't quite get there. a bubbly strawberry that brings the party.

perfume: prada candy gloss is a juicy sour cherry. it opens like sour candy before it settles down to a more lipglossy cherry scent. unabashedly flirty and fun.

Skiing in Courchevel: Fun, Glam, and a Side of Drama 😮‍💨

So, I just got back from my fab skiing trip to Courchevel, and let me tell you—it was a whole thing. 🏔✨

First off, we’re talking the chic-est start ever: a business class flight that was all Champagne and relaxation. Literally the perfect vibe to get into the snowy mood. 🥂✈️

Of course, as soon as I landed, I had to make a beeline for my favorite nail salon in Courchevel. 💅 It’s like, part of my routine—relax, glam up, and set the tone for a luxe time in the Alps. But, girl, I made the rookie mistake of posting an Insta story while I was there. Big sigh. 😩

Next thing I know, some creepy dude decides to track me down. Like, what is with some men? Sir, this is not a vibe, and no, I don’t want to share my mani-pedi moment with you. 🙄 Worse, he somehow figured out where I was staying, so I had to switch hotels to keep things safe. Ugh, sometimes being a girl is just insane.

Luckily, I had my peeps with me, and we made sure the drama didn’t ruin our trip. We totally slayed on the slopes—perfect powder, sunshine, and chic ski fits. (Think après-ski vibes with attitude 🐾).

And afterward, we headed to Geneva to cap things off 80s-style, because why not? ✨ Think Madonna, neon, and a lot of hairspray energy.

Anyway, just a reminder to always keep safety first, babes. And shoutout to the people who make you feel safe and loved. Life’s too short for creeps, but it’s also too short to let them ruin your fun. 💕
