I think the kiss...it was hard to make it real. I really had to let go of myself and be Five. It's really not easy to give a kiss and make it real. There's a lot of the relationship with Lila that we filmed but they cut it. It took weeks to film it and they used a few minutes in a montage. That wasn't right. It also made it very hard for viewers to believe when we spent weeks filming scenes to set up that scenario Ritu and I were there for weeks before someone else came to Canada to film our secret scenes first

There are also articles online that are not true. For example, David never had any problem with the romance between Lila and Five. Neither did Ritu. That's completely made up to attract clicks.

We also didn't know how it would end. Steve always hides the last script until the very end.

Steve basically wrote what he wanted and we were paid to do it.

No cast member has a vote on anything.

I would change it back to the original 10 episodes that Steve wrote.

When Netflix told him to cut it down to 6 episodes and remove all the expensive scenes, I'm sure that hurt the season a lot. It's like reading a well written story that has everything you ever wanted to explain about the show.

I mean, I understand that the show was no longer profitable, so it was a business decision.

We were lucky to be able to get a fourth season; it was actually a gift from Netflix to the fans because they didn't make any money on it

Actually, you should thank them for season 4. Any other network would have just cancelled the show. I heard they tried for years to fix the deal with UCP to make it profitable to move forward and UCP didn't do it.

OK, so UCP owns the show and struck a deal with Netflix to distribute it on their network. But with each season, the show cost Netflix more and more money from UCP. By season 4, it was no longer profitable

Anyway, I'm glad they made UA. It almost never got made. For years it was going to be a movie

in seasons one and two, the colors of ted lasso are bright. vibrant. it’s one of the things that helped the show stand out when it first released - so many shows nowadays are dark, and i don’t mean in terms of their content. i mean in terms of their color grading. everything is muted, washed out, shrouded in shadow. ted lasso was the opposite of that. it was rich, colorful, to reflect the show’s optimism and inherent joy.

i first noticed it when the theme song rolled in s3e1, but the color grading has been different this season. user @strawberryswords mentioned it too, that the beginning of the season didn’t feel the same as the rest of the show, didn’t feel like a comedy, because ted wasn’t living in a comedy anymore! his depression was sinking into the foundation of the show, right down to the color grading. the team hasn’t felt like themselves all season, distracted by zava or by their losing streak, but this episode, they FINALLY figured themselves out.

and i GASPED. when the color grading was fixed. if you look for it, you can tell - after richard scores the goal against arsenal, the colors are vibrant again! the green of the pitch is warm and bright, the boys’ yellow kits are almost GLOWING. they figured it out. they’re a team again. multiple people have mentioned how episodes 6 and 7 have felt so much better than the beginning of the season, and that’s intentional!! after each of them individually being in some kind of funk, they have found their optimism again. ted lasso is once again about joy. and i’m so, so, so glad to see it.

Buck & Eddie:  Two emergencies in 7x1 illustrated Buck hasn’t dealt with his death

It appears the first call with the older onery couple and the second call with the burned car relate to Buck’s death and they seem to illustrate how he’s not over it yet.

These are my OBSERVATIONS and INTERPRETATIONS of two scenes included in 7x1 and other people’s may differ since everyone consumes and interprets media differently.

Now back to the regularly scheduled program…

Before I delve into this, I have to mention that I don’t think Buck’s over his death yet.  Does he want to be?  Yes but the fact is he hasn’t dealt with it and the first two emergencies in 7x1 alluded to it.

For those who read my post about my frustrations surrounding the fact that TM (showrunner) said Buck was tired of talking about death and he just wants to be happy (linked here), I’ve elaborated on why I believe he hasn’t dealt with it yet in this post.  I found two things in the first episode of season 7 that seems to prove my theory associated with the way TM might be saving Buck dealing with the fact that he ACTUALLY DIED in season 6 until after 7x6 airs since that’s Maddie’s wedding and the Buckley parents are scheduled to return.

I live blogged during last week’s episode but while doing so, I noticed so many things that I wanted to expound on but I wanted to analyze them first to see how they connected to previous seasons and episodes.  I watched the episode three more times for multiple reasons but mainly because I wanted to make sure I understood all the callbacks, hindsight, metaphors and foreshadowing.  This post will not include everything I found because it’s a lot but I will do several posts to cover the others.

While Buck and Eddie were in the locker room talking, Buck said all ND wanted to talk about was his death, it got boring after a while and he didn’t know why he thought dating a dEaTh DoUlA was a good idea.  Eddie responded, “Well you had just died” but then he said something else that caused me to pause because it was JARRING.  He said, “Welcome back to the land of the living Buck, you were missed” (more on this topic below).

Be clear, I’M GLAD SHE’S GONE AND I WISH THE SHOW WOULDN’T HAVE SHOVED THEM INTO A RELATIONSHIP.  If she would have helped Buck with the fact that he died like she was supposed to then all that screen time spent on whatever they had in season 6 could have been used to SHOW how he arrived at a point of just wanting to be happy at the beginning of season 7 but the audience didn’t get that.  The truth is, if he wasn’t opening up and talking about it (it’s likely he wasn’t since he’s not in therapy) then of course it got boring for him because he was doing what he always does, avoiding dealing with his own issues by trying to fix everyone else’s.  Reminder, he’s the guy who likes to fix things except for when it’s his own problems.  He avoids them the same way he avoided moving on from AC in season 2 which equates to the way he avoided talking to TK for a week so he wouldn’t have to break up with her at the end of season 5.

Also, Buck hides his true feelings and he said so in 4x2 when he was in a FaceTime therapy session with Dr. Copeland.  He said, “How I hide my true feelings from others”.  Additionally, in 6x15, he told Eddie, “The truth is I am different.  But I feel like I have to be the same old Buck, mostly for the sake of everyone else.”  These two statements he made along with the way he avoids things further substantiates the fact that Buck is hiding the way he really feels about his death and he’s pretending to be happy.

IMO, the first and second emergencies in 7x1 the 118 was dispatched to appeared to show where Buck is mentally.  I’ll start with the chair and the car metaphors in this post because they’re the ones I couldn't forget when I watched live.  After my initial viewing, I kept wondering why the man in the first call was not only sitting in a reclining chair but he was ALSO TRAPPED IN IT.  Additionally, I couldn’t get over the fact that Buck and Eddie were the only two on the scene of the second call with that burned car.  Not only was the car destroyed from the inside out; it was the question the owner of the car asked Buck that I couldn’t forget.  The chair and the car are the two items I’ll expound on in this post to illustrate how they relate to Buck’s death and I’ll include my opinion to explain how they might relate to what could possibly happen with him before the end of the season.

Call #1

Do these two GIFs look familiar?

They should because Buck and Abe are both sitting in arm chairs that are suited for only one person and they mirror the way Buck’s life could end up if he lives it the way other people want him to instead of him living it the way he wants to. The darker color in the suede of Abe's chair is similar to the color of Buck's leather chair. Also, Abe's chair is outdated but he still uses it so he doesn't have to deal with Edna.

In 7x1, Abe just wanted to be at EASE with his life while sitting and relaxing in his chair but his wife wouldn’t let him.  He was trying to watch TV but she kept knit picking at everything he was doing.  She was doing the whole “pay attention to me or else I’ll force you to do it and make your life a living hell while I'm at it” dynamic and it was annoying AF. They had been married for more than 30 years and they never had any kids but they were also miserable.  They hated each other and it appears they were in a marriage neither of them wanted to be in.  After the 118 arrived, Edna said, “He loves that chair more than the loves me”.

Furthermore, they had a couch in their home but it was just sitting there which means ABE REFUSED TO SIT ON IT WITH HER.  He told Chimney the fighter jet should have put one of them out of their misery.

Was the depiction of their relationship reminiscent of one from season 5?  YES!

In 6x1, Bobby told Buck he needed to take inventory of his life so he could be at EASE and when he did, he sat in his chair but at the time, since he had already given TK the boot, he didn’t have to worry about her doing to him what Edna spent 30 years doing to Abe.  If Buck would have kept on clinging to TK, then that could have been his fate.  TK was shallow and wanted all the attention on herself the same way Edna did and she proved it with her raggedy and immoral journalistic behaviors.  She had planned to throw the 118 under the bus in 2x6 but she didn’t get the chance to do it then since the LAFD’s lawyers were more powerful than her news station’s lawyers.  However, she jumped at the opportunity to do it a second time in season 5 when she didn’t have anyone to stop her.

Abe’s relationship with Edna gave the audience a future flash forward of where Buck could end up if he follows what some GA viewers want him to do.  Before he died, in 6x2, Lev told him his life went by in a blur and it was the reason he went to the happiness convention with his friends.  Abe chose the life he felt like he was expected to live with a wife and a house too but based on the way he was acting; it clearly wasn’t something he would have chosen for himself.  And he was so far from being at ease that he was miserable.

Additionally, Edna was a combination of every woman Buck’s ever dated.  She was older and had red hair which coincides with AC.  She didn’t care about what Abe was doing because she wanted him to do what she wanted which coincides with TK and also, she had red hair.  She was frustrated with him and what he was doing which correlates her to AM, reminder she didn’t like Buck’s job which is the reason why she left him with a cast on his leg after the ladder truck explosion.  Finally, ND was fascinated by Buck’s death the same way Edna was fascinated by the fact that Abe might not be ok.  She cared more about the chair being out of her house than she did about his well-being.  Their lives were miserable but instead of ending their relationship, they clung to each other just like Buck and TK did in season 5.

IMO, the couple represented the life Buck would have if he follows the path some people in the GA want him to.  Believe it or not, there are still viewers who want everyone to do things the way they did them, i.e., get married, have a house, have kids and work a job until they die and instead of wanting Buck and Eddie to experience the true love they clearly share to flourish and grow, for WhAtEvEr ReAsOnS, they’d rather they stay in relationships with the women who wronged, abandoned and ignored them. It appears they're choosing not to see how much they love each other and they would prefer them to “stick it out” in relationships with people who clearly make them miserable.

Reminder, in 6x15, Buck told Eddie, “I still don't know how to act. I am different but I feel like I have to be the same old Buck, mostly for the sake of everyone else” and I’ve always believed he was saying that directly to the audience.  It was aimed at the women who wanted him to keep waiting around for AC or those who wanted him to stay with AM because she had an adult conversation with him before she dipped.  Then there are those who wanted him to stay with TK because she was career driven (that’s a bunch of BS because journalists can be driven in their careers without being immoral, vindictive, callous or using people to get popular by writing a crappy book) and then there are those who wanted Buck to stay with ND (I know this may be hard to believe but there are posts that indicate “he knew what he was getting into when he dated her” 🙄).  Like seriously, they wanted him to stay with her because in their minds, she was perfect for him but haven’t all his girlfriend’s stans said that?  They have and the question they should ask themselves is, why haven’t any of Buck’s relationships worked (related post linked here and here) instead of acting like the women who treated him poorly deserved to stick around.  Also, Buck’s a ticking time bomb waiting to explode the same way that dummy bomb would have if it had gone off. However, just like on the call, Eddie’s going to be there for Buck but it’s unclear when or if he’ll be able to stop it from happening.

Call #2

The burned car was still smoldering but it was also hollow and charred to the core.  IMO, it was included as a call that only Buck and Eddie were allowed to extinguish as a way to illustrate how it’ll take both of them working together to repair Buck’s charred, burned and smoldering insides.  Reminder, in 6x10 he was struck by lightning and he died which means he’s probably feeling hollow on the inside and I think he feels all cored out just like that burned car.  While they were in the locker room, it appeared he was ready to talk to Eddie about the way he feels which is the reason why he may have invited him to go out so they could be alone and he could speak freely.  But he backed off when Eddie mentioned “Big date” and reminder, Buck was the one who assumed Eddie had a date with M (more on this below) but Eddie was talking about Chris' date.

After Eddie left, the audience didn’t see Buck leave so apparently, he went somewhere but who knows where since he wasn’t shown again until the next time they were at work.  If they had gone together, it would have been a date but IIRC, other than the poker date in 6x13, every time Buck and Eddie hung out in the past, they were at Buck's loft or at Eddie’s house.  Additionally, Eddie admitted he’s a nester which means he’s ok with them staying in like they did when they played video games and drank beer in the past.  The one time they went to a bar together in 3x11 doesn’t count as a date because the rest of the 118 was there with Albert.  I think Buck was extending an olive branch and trying to let Eddie know he needed him the same way Eddie tried to let Buck know he needed him before his breakdown in season 5 but when he finally broke, Chris called Buck and he came running.  I’ve always wondered how it will play out if Buck breaks down while he’s alone in the loft and I have an idea of how it will happen but I haven’t decided if I’ll post it on here.

When they were done, the car owner asked, “Is it a total loss or is…?” and Buck responded, “Uh… not total.” then he smiled, held up a pine tree fragranced car freshener, which is symbolic of an actual family tree because of the ROOTS, then said, “Have a good day”.  Buck’s biological family roots are about to come into question AGAIN (related post about the Buckley parents other deep dark family secret linked here) and guess what?  When they do, it’s going to rock him to his CORE and the only person who’ll be able to help him is EDDIE!  Buck’s not a total loss as the phrasing in the scene alluded to and Eddie KNOWS that! However, Buck will need for Eddie to tell him that over and over again until he starts to believe it.

I think the confrontation OS mentioned that’s supposed to occur between Buck and Eddie will be in relation to Buck’s self-worth and how he views himself.  There are a lot of people who want to move on from the fact that Buck died and rightfully so since he along with the viewers had to endure an entire season of him not dealing with his issues.  But the truth is 9-1-1 hasn’t moved on from it either and even though TM said Buck’s ready to find happiness, the fact still remains that Buck hasn’t dealt with the reality of his own death.

IMO, he will find happiness when he’s in a relationship with Eddie and reminder, Eddie’s the one who’s always trying to encourage him.  He did it in 7x1 too after Buck said, “You don’t want him to end up like me” but Eddie was quick to respond, “You didn’t end up like you”.  It was soft, pure and so full of love that it took Buck’s breath away.

Now be honest, would AC, AM, TK or ND have said that to him?  The answer NO!

I stand by the things I included in a previous post because Connor and Kameron are supposed to return some time around or after 7x5 and that’s when I believe the proverbial $hit regarding Buck’s self-worth will hit the fan since it’s likely they’ll have some devastating news for him about the baby.  Then the Buckley parents are set to return for Maddie’s wedding and nothing good ever happens to Buck when they do so it's looking like a trifecta of bad news for Buck (related post linked here).

Other than the time he spent talking to Chris at Eddie’s house, Buck was only shown at work during the entire episode and I believe that was on purpose.  It’s unclear when he’ll be shown in the loft again but when he is, that could be when the audience sees he’s not doing as well as he’s trying to get people to believe.  It’s likely the way he really feels about the fact that he died will be shown and if he feels like that burned car… it’s not going to be pretty or pleasant.

Eddie KNOWS Buck’s not doing well but he’s not going to push him to talk just like he didn’t in 6x12.  He’s going to wait until Buck’s ready then, he’ll have the heart-to-heart talk with him the same way he always does.  Reminder, Eddie takes care of Buck (post linked here) while Buck listens to Eddie and makes him talk (post linked here).  In 7x1, Eddie said, “Welcome back to the land of the living Buck.  You were missed” and I kept wondering why he phrased it like that but then I realized it’s because he knows Buck hasn’t confronted the fact that he died but he’s not going to push him, he’ll wait until he says he’s ready then Eddie will be there to take care of him like he always is.

Make no mistake, Buck’s happiness is with Eddie but he thinks he’s off limits since he’s “dating” M (please understand I don’t think Eddie and M are "seriously dating" and that's based on RG's responses about the character of M in his interviews. I’ll do a separate post on it explaining how the show and the actors have explained it in so many words).

TM used two BOLD contrasts in the first episode, a chair and a car, to show Buck has to deal with his death and it’s likely he'll continue to include these types of metaphors until he does.  Also, TM's comment about Buck being tired of talking about dying seems to be a bait and switch and he's trying to get viewers to look away from Buck’s death so they’ll forget he’s been hiding it, then they’ll be blindsided by it when he finally breaks. Reminder, after the Madney wedding, there will still be 4 episodes left in the season and what exactly will TM fill them with🧐?

Will Buck finally deal with the fact that he died this season since he didn't in season 6?  Who knows but based on the chair and the car, it appears his process of dealing with it has just begun.

Y/N, a school teacher, meets Robert "Rosie" Rosenthal in the village pub.

“Oh, Lord, be careful, Harrison,” you start, already running towards the small yet gangly boy hanging off the tree branch. He laughs at your frightened expression, showing that he was just teasing you.

“I'm fiiiiine, Miss Y/N,” he giggles, swinging on the branches like a little monkey. “Look at meeeeee!” You can't help but laugh at the young boy, the sunshine on his face as he swings to and fro. His other classmates are milling around the field, playing games together such as tag, jump rope, cats cradles and someone had even chalked a hopscotch grid on the small patch of cement exposed towards the end of the field.

A rumbling sound causes everyone to look up, seeing ten planes flying up into the cloudless blue sky.

“There they go,” a girl says, the string of the cats cradle on her fingers untangling due to her distraction. “Miss Y/N, I counted ten. Was I right?”

“You certainly are right, Penelope. And let's count ten again in a few hours when they all return. Right, back inside, everyone,” you shout to get everyone's attention, clapping your hands thrice. “It's time to carry on with our reading time.”

The afternoon sun begins to cool down as the day progresses, which you're glad of. Keeping seventeen small children focused during the few sweltering days of British summertime sure was quite the task, but you did enjoy seeing their sweet faces light up at the mention of extra playtime, or even, outdoor lessons where you'd let them dig rocks, look through their little magnifying glasses at little critters and bugs they'd found, and read under the apple tree.

It's towards the end of the day that you all once again hear the rumble sound that had become all too familiar over the last few months. You pause at your blackboard, the chalk in your hand hovering over it as the sound gets louder, causing the building to shake slightly. You turn, smirking, with a twinkle in your eye as your students get ready to rush out the door, yet wait for your instruction to do so.

“Go on, then!” you say, chuckling at their excitement to see the planes land. A cheer erupts as the planes fly overhead, all the children counting in unison.

“One…two…three,” you look up, hand shielding your eyes from the sun and squinting slightly, silently hoping to see all ten planes arrive.

“Seven…eight…nine…”

“Just one more,” you whisper to yourself, teeth gritted suddenly.

“TEN! That's ten!” The kids begin cheering, some even hugging one another. You breathe a huge sigh of relief, glad of not having to explain the potential consequence of planes going missing today.

“Bye, Miss Y/N! Have a good weekend!”

“Thank you, Harrison. You, too! Say hello to your mother for me. Let her know I'll be stopping by with a pie this weekend. I owe her for fixing my skirts!” He nods, hand held out towards you.

“Picked this for you.” He is holding a shiny red apple, the first from the school's apple tree. You place a hand to your chest, suddenly overcome with emotion.

“Thank you, darling. That's so kind. Now, off you go before mum begins to worry!”

You begin to bike home, taking this opportunity to breathe in the remainder of the summer, the leaves of the trees blowing in the beautifully soft breeze. These poor Americans had only experienced two seasons the entire time they'd been here: pouring rain or unnecessarily humid and hot, which reminded you that at least England was sticking to its regular schedule. Soon enough, this beautiful weather would be a distant memory, the countryside once again turning wet, muddy and mostly sludge.

You're almost home when you spot your friend Sally running alongside your bicycle.

“Hi, Y/N,” she calls, jogging next to you. “Are you still coming tonight?”

You push the brake on your bike, coming to a stop just outside your cottage and fiddling with the gate.

“Yes! What time?”

“I was thinking around 7. We can walk there together!”

“Wonderful. See you then, doll!”

You settle into your favorite armchair once inside the house, the grill heating up your toast, the kettle about to whistle as it reaches a boil. Spreading homemade lemon curd on your toast and adding milk and sugar to your tea, you sit back down with a magazine, mulling over what to wear this evening. It was finally Friday, and the evening you'd venture to the village pub with your friends for your weekly catch up.

Standing in front of your wardrobe, you run your hands through the soft material of your favorite dresses, choosing the first one to catch your eye. A sage green dress, fitted at the waist and flowing into a beautiful skirt that you liked to think mimicked the petals of a flower. You let down your hair from the scarf that had kept it contained all day while teaching, running your hands through it as it falls about your shoulders, shining thanks to the evening sunlight streaming through your window. With one more swipe of mascara and a little dab of blush, you're ready right on time as you hear knuckles softly rap the wooden door to your tiny cottage.

“Hi, doll! Oh, you look wonderful!”

“Thanks, Sally,” you say, smiling back at her. “You do, too! Is that a new dress?”

“It sure is,” she replies, her eyes sparkling slightly.

“And would that be for anyone in particular?” You joke, poking at her shoulder slightly.

“Maybe…” she replies, wistfully. “Now, come on, I don't want to keep James waiting.”

“Oh, yes,” you respond, winking jokingly. “We wouldn't want to have James stood up.”

Arriving at the pub, you see James out front in his uniform. Sally squeals, running into his arms quick as a flash. “Hi, honey,” you hear him say, his thick Tennessee drawl cutting through the air, still unusual to hear around here. He kisses her on the cheek and winks at you. “Hey, Y/N. Good to see ya.”

“And you, James!” He opens the door for you both and walks over to the bar to join his friends who poke at him, making fun of him sweetly.

Your friends wave, gesturing for you and Sally to come over, and you sit down to join them. James runs back over with two drinks in his hand: a red wine for Sally and a small beer for you. You look up at him gratefully, thankful for his kindness and willingness to treat his girlfriend's friends so nicely.

An hour passes, you and your friends knee deep in village gossip, eyes wide and hands gesturing wildly when you notice the door open out of the corner of your eye. In walks the most handsome man you've ever seen: brown, soft curls that compliment his baby blue eyes perfectly. His mustache, trimmed to perfection, suits his face extremely well. He smiles towards his friends, showing two rows of perfect white teeth, his smile taking your breath away.

“Oh my gosh. Who is that?” You murmur to the table. All four of your companions turn their heads to get a better look, all looking back at you with the same expression. “Good golly,” one replies. “He is incredibly handsome. Shame I'm married…” she titters, hand over her mouth to stifle a giggle.

“Now, now, lady,” you tease. “He'll be back soon enough. You don't need to surprise him with an American upon his return.” You can't seem to tear your eyes away from this handsome man, though, feeling your body grow warm with every movement he makes, the heat going from the pit of your stomach up to your face causing you to have to press your cool hand to it.

The man turns around from the bar, taking a sip of his drink when he catches you staring at him. You look down at the table, suddenly embarrassed, your face reddening even more. You feel Sally elbow you softly. “Y/N, he's coming over,” she squeals. “Oh, goodness, he's coming over.”

Before you know it, he's stood in front of you with his hand outstretched towards you. “Ma'am,” he says nervously, a sweet smile on his face. “Would you like to dance?” Trying your best to not squeak with excitement and embarrass yourself, you nod, swallowing.

“Yes, please.”

You can't help but smile as he slowly twirls you around the small dancefloor, soft jazz being played on the stage opposite you.

“What's your name?”

“Y/N, Y/L/N,” you respond, hoping your hand on his shoulder will keep you upright. “And you?”

“Rosenthal, Robert Rosenthal. The fellas call me Rosie.”

“It's nice to meet you, Mr Rosenthal. What is it you do?”

“Call me Rosie, please. I'm a pilot.”

“Oh, amazing!” You reply. “The kids and I were watching you all fly back in today. We were very glad to count all ten aircraft.” He looks at you, confused for a moment. “I'm a teacher at the local school. The kids are my students,” you reassure him.

“Whew,” he blows out air from his mouth, his cheeks puffing comically. “Had me worried there.” You giggle at his expression, your eyebrows slightly raised. “Glad there's no need to duel a man over a pretty girl.”

The next couple of hours are spent sat together, sharing stories of your lives. He tells you of how he was a lawyer prior to enlisting, where he grew up and where he went to school. You share how you grew up right here, a beautiful childhood in the countryside and how you've just inherited your grandmother's cottage, working on making it feel more like your own. You can't help but smile at him, your eyes intently staring into his as he shares small tidbits of his life with you, you always being curious of places away from East Anglia.

“May I walk you home, Y/N?” he asks, as he sees you stifle a yawn and the landlord rings the bell for last orders.

“I'd love that, Rosie. Yes, please.” You turn and quickly wave goodbye to your friends, the girls quietly cheering as you leave on Robert's arm.

He holds the hand you've placed in the crook of his arm, his other hand holding his hat, allowing you to go slightly ahead of him in order to direct him. However, you walk as slow as you can to savor every last moment with him, the light of the moon shining in his gorgeous hair, the stars in the night sky looking so similar to his beautiful eyes. You walk in companionable silence, reaching the cottage within a few moments.

“Thank you for walking me home, Robert. I had a really lovely time with you.”

“Me, too, ma'am,” he replies, fiddling with his sleeve slightly. “May I see you again?”

“I'd be delighted,” you smile, blushing slightly. He steps forward and takes your hand, kissing it softly before repeating the same action on your warm cheek.

“G'night, Y/N. I sure hope I see you again soon.”

“Goodnight, Rosie.”

1. Loki (MCU)

As much as I love everyone on this list, there is absolutely no competition for number 1. Loki has been my favourite character of all time for nearly 6 years now (because clearly the best time to join someone's fandom is after they've just been murdered), and is showing absolutely no signs of being replaced anytime soon. I have a Loki blog, for god's sake. The brodinsons are my favourite relationship in any kind of media, ever. I love them so, so much. Loki's a million different things and feelings, all at the same time, all fighting with each other, which makes for a wonderfully complex and nuanced character. Also, he's hilarious. Look at that eye roll. This is a man who hates his life, which makes me feel better about mine. Thanks, Loki.

2. Klaus Hargreeves (The Umbrella Academy)

As will become obvious throughout this list, I love me an emotionally traumatised crazy person. Klaus is that. One of the characters who makes me laugh the most, ever, show-stopping dress sense, and a bucketload of unresolved trauma which goes largely ignored by Klaus, the other characters and the narrative itself? It was love at first sight. Their banter with the other characters, especially Ghost Ben (rip) is one of my favourite aspects of the show. Here's to hoping that Klaus won't be getting the Allison treatment in season 4!

3. Pippa Fitz-Amobi (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder)

I binge-read the entire AGGTM series earlier this year, and instantly fell in love with it. Pip is one of my favourite protagonists ever. Impossibly clever, compassionate, obsessive, badass, and a teensy bit unhinged. What's not to love? I would die for her. I'd say that I'd kill for her, but I think she's got that covered. I think she's written in a very realistic way, firstly as a genius 17 year old girl who doesn't really know what she's getting into, and later as a haunted individual who wants to stop investigating but can't. The way she politely knocks on people's front doors to dig up their traumas, accuse them of murder and all-round ruin their lives is everything to me. She is my blorbo. I am so, so excited for the show to come out, and I'm sure that Emma Myers will do a wonderful job as Pip!

4. Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games)

One of the best-written characters, in one of the best-written series ever. Reading from her perspective is such a delight- she's endlessly suspicious of everyone around her, constantly on survival mode, trusting very few people and relying on exactly no one (to begin with, at least). She's a random teenage girl, from the poorest district, and she wins the Hunger Games. She's so mentally unstable that she has to be sedated, and still she's made to be the face of a rebellion. She's rude, and kind of unlikeable. She adopts all the weakest tributes, at risk to herself, knowing that they won't win. She's doomed to fail by the narrative. She's the it girl of 2010s dystopian YA fiction. Jennifer Lawrence is an amazing actress, who does a beautiful job portraying the depth and conflict of Katniss in the films. The themes and social commentary of the Hunger Games is one of its (many) strong points, and I am so so glad that people are talking about it again, because it is my favourite book series out there.

5. Mitchell Pritchett (Modern Family)

I have no idea what to say about this man, I just love him. He just like me fr. What an icon. Impeccable music taste. I've started saying, "no my god" now, and nobody understands what I'm talking about. Even in a sitcom, my favourite is the one with issues that he refuses to talk about or fix. The episode where he's trying to hide that he dressed up as spiderman makes me cry-laugh. Claire's speech at his wedding makes me just cry. He's not a perfect man, but he's certainly better than everyone else.

6. Shin Tsukimi (Your Turn to Die)

My favourite cringefail loser! I said Katniss was doomed by the narrative in a metaphorical way. This idiot is actually doomed.

No but in all seriousness, I do really love him. Before the beginning of the game, he was just a relatively normal young man- but, when confronted with the inevitability of his own death, he made himself into a monster to survive. He has a violent vendetta against the local badass teenage girl, who is traumatised as hell already and does not need Shin chipping in as well, thank you very much. I love his relationship with Kanna, his biological sister; how he uses her, manipulates her, and still cares for her so much that he dies for her with a smile on his face in the Emotion route. Conversely, in the Logic route, his actions are a direct cause of her death, and I just love how much YTTD hates siblings. I hope that his past with Midori is explored more in either a mini-episode or the final part of the game, because I find it sooo interesting. I'm super excited to see whether he actually has no chance of survival, or whether he makes it out, against the odds, on one of the routes. He's a bit useless, so I won't get my hopes up.

7. Rue Bennett (Euphoria)

I think it goes without saying that Euphoria has its issues, lol. Sam Levinson is an idiot. While a lot of the show (especially season 2) feels shallow and like it doesn't care about its characters, Rue's storylines always have heart and depth and I am so invested in her arc. It's no wonder that Zendaya won 2 Emmys for this role, because her acting is phenomenal! Rue feels so real to me, in the way that she's trying so hard to stay sober but she falls down and relapses time and time again. Recovery isn't linear, but she's getting there, and I adore her with all my heart. Her relationships with Lexi, her mother, her sister, and her sponsor, Ali, are my favourites, and the healthiest for her, in my opinion. Her brief friendship/ romance with Jules may have kept her more solidly sober than anything else in the show, but Jules (understandably) cracks under the pressure of Rue's mental health, and can't be there for her. Rue needs to heal for herself, which she appears to be doing at the end of S2.

8. Max Mayfield (Stranger Things)

Duffer brothers, please just let her be happy.

Despite only being introduced in Season 2, Max has, in my opinion, had the best character development out of everyone on the show. Her growth from someone standoffish, rude, and uninterested in the group (maybe I'm being a bit harsh. She was, like, 12) to someone who is willing to risk her life to help her friends and Hawkins means so much to me. The scene in "Dear Billy" (S4, Ep4) where she escapes from Vecna remains my favourite in the whole show and will probably be burned into my brain forever. Her relationships with Lucas and El are very sweet, and some of my favourites in Stranger Things. Her final line in S4, after all her struggles over the season, being that she doesn't want to die literally breaks my heart. I hope she gets some degree of a happy ending in the final season. She was my first profile picture when I joined this hellsite, and I love her a lot.

9. Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables)

The shenanigans that this girl gets up to never fail to make me laugh. The bit where she accidentally dyes her hair green and then has to hack it all off makes me feel awful for her, but. it's hilarious. Sorry, Anne. Her friendship with Diana is so sweet but also so funny to me because they really are the most chaotic duo of the 1880s. The scene where Anne accidentally gives her alcohol instead of fruit juice is so mortifying but so, so funny. Amidst all of the insane situations that Anne gets into are a lot of really heartwarming moments and relationships. Matthew and Marilla adopting Anne, even though they wanted a boy, because she's so endearing and alone in the world is probably what made me who I am today. I still haven't gotten around to watching Anne with an E, but I've heard it's amazing. I look forward to watching it when I have the time :).

10. Daphne Blake (Scooby Doo)

My first ever favourite character! Another one who I don't have a tonne to say about. She's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment. She has done nothing wrong, ever. She knows martial arts, so watch out.

I really hope Tim reels it in this season with fixing buddie in every episode. I do love their friendship but like it’s not needed? Even Ryan commented on it when he said that Eddie has really only leaned on Buck and sometimes Bobby and he hopes to see him lean on others like Hen and Chimney. By Tim doing this I feel like he is severally limiting specifically Eddie’s character because we do see Buck interact and lean on all members of the 118, yet Eddie doesn’t. Tim as the showrunners has got to stop trying to appeal to a very small demographic of the viewership because it impacts the quality of the show.

I'm glad you (and probably everyone else who's gonna read this) can remember what Ryan was saying by the end of the season because certain people STILL take issue with any posts concerning Eddie's...dependency on Buck as if the words didn't come straight from Ryan's mouth on two separate occasions. 🫠 (I think his word is only gospel when they're bringing up "I love you to the core", but y'no.) This is just my view of how last season wen down, but I think Tim saw (from afar) how season 6 was written, saw the reactions on a weekly basis (because again, he has a tendency to lurk online, unlike Kristen) and wanted to "fix it" for the fan base. Which is why, after a season of feeling like they may as well have existed on two separate planets, we were gifted Buddie in nearly every episode. (TBH I think it also helped that s7 was only 10 episodes. Expecting Buddie in close to 18 episodes - because they wouldn't be in EVERY one - when they're not canon is probably a lot harder to justify, lol)

Season 8 is a blank slate, but I think we've already seen "the shift" despite getting Buddie in the finale. If Tim were already thinking of breaking Buck and Tommy up as he was writing the finale, if Tommy was a throwaway LI the way Ana, Taylor, and Marisol were, Eddie would have called Buck during the dinner date and Buck would have left Tommy to be by his best friend's side. (Remember that even Kristen did it during the breakdown episode because she knew BuckTaylor were not gonna last through the season.) But that's not what happened. Because the focus was not supposed to be on Buddie in that moment. I think we'll still get Buddie content pretty regularly because duh, best friends, but if ABC is moving the way we think they're moving? Buddie will exist without taking away from whatever both characters have going on in their personal lives. (Which, for the record, is where Eddie having more friends more consistently comes in. If he's not dating anyone, and he doesn't have Chris back home yet, he's gonna have to talk to SOMEONE. It just shouldn't ALWAYS be Buck.)

This one is a very sweet slice of life EG Sunset x Scitwi one, its got a lovely interpretation of the characters; With the expected but very welcome pairing of cool punk girl and adorable nerd. and i plan on doing fanart of it! The writer knows her stuff nyeheh =v= This is the best "Rarity and Applejack get drunk together and mushy stuff happens" Fic i seen out there, a trope that is surprisingly recurring, ive seen others like this! But this one is the best, hands down. A mutual of mine wrote it and its just a wonderful time! This one is a super fun horror esque rarijack fic where rarity is haunted and applejack tries to help her. its got fantastic prose and its just damn lovely! I've done fanart of it before, its a sweet one, and its also just a really interesting direction to take Rarity's character that i'm almost sad to not see more of. Overpowered rarity whennnn Although i don't ship twilight and trixie, this fic of this pairing, that is still ongoing, is fucking hilarious. The comedy has wonderful timing, and the takes on the characters are endlessly entertaining

Stay tuned to this wonderful fic of Rarijack anthros (Inspired by the ones i designed, too!!) 'cause its gonna have a sex sequel that i've already gotten a sneak peek or two of, and i'm frotthing at the mouth about it. biting things even (i sketched the cover btw!)

This fic isn't rly horse yuri but its 1000 words of Sunset Shimmer being the utter insane badass i always wished she was; and I will continue writing her like so. I'm glad to see another writer also concidered the same

If you're like me, and think that sex is funny, this fic and it's two sequels are for you. Sunset Shimmer throws a party of deranged proportions that ends in debauchery and indulgence that nearly destroys the fabric of equestria; and it's consequences are hilarious. This is a rly cute short trans rarity fic, and it has a delightful amount of rarijack within. utterly adorbs. Almost sad to see it so short! Finaly, i'd be amiss to not recommend the fics i've written myself; Here are my two biggest and most awesomest i've done: The Return of Midnight Sparkle Is a take on MLP where there is no EG universe, and rather, Sunset Shimmer is brought to the mane 6 per twilight's request, and she absolutely does not feel like she belongs, and its a narrative about her desperate attempts of fitting in; and dealing with the fallout of her failings. I put an inordinate amount of effort on this one, even drawing covers for each chapter. I went DERRANGED with the idea of "what if sunset shimmer was on FIM and also it was gay as fuck." i basicaly wrote an entire season of the show and its finale. If you're a fan of Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle as a pairing, cannot recommend enough. Here's some of the art i made for it. Insanely sick chapter covers im super proud of The Princess and the Peasant is an all you can eat buffet for Rarijack enjoyers, I've taken the baseline of the story of "shrek 1" and i made it about Applejack and Rarity; And also expanded upon it and fixed some of the annoyances with the og story (No third act misunderstanding! On the contrary. Third act understanding. SEX.) The humble farmer Applejack has to rescue fair Princess Rarity from a dragon keep, and escort her across Equestria to ensure that her farm and family are safe. Of course, on the journey, those two grow a bit close... Too close. VEry very very veyr close. Here's a comic i've made of one of my fave scenes of it lmaooo Cannot express enough; If you're a fan of rarijack? This fic is EVERYTHING for you.

In light of all the bitching about the upcoming patch, I was so happy to hear you’re also not… mad at Larian, I guess? I was wondering if I’m missing something, because for all its bugs, the game is fine the way it is, to me. More than fine, it’s a great game, the first that really means something to me since Dishonored. Idk, I’m literally over here just vibing, glad I’m not alone in that 😌

I noticed there's been a trend in recent years, I think started by those media that truly DID become horribly disappointing as it went on (last season of GOT, for example), and people started just... like

There is a phase most media get where they are the Best Ever, they Can Do No Wrong. And then one day that phase ends, and suddenly, that media Can Do No Right. Everything is a mistake, everything is wrong, everything is an attempt to cater to one group of fans (who are, of course, the wrong group to cater to) and/or an attempt to spite one group of fans. I think that in this day and age, people sometimes don't understand the difference between consuming media critically, I.E., using critical thinking to understand the themes, plot, and characters, and consuming media critically, I.E. criticizing everything the creators say and do.

So instead of looking for simple explanations, I.E., "different trainings and specialties mean that the division of labor at Larian has a team that works on new animations, but that team is not the same team responsible for bug fixes, so getting new animations from the former isn't why the latter hasn't repaired Polearm Master or Shield Bash or Raphael and Mol's scene yet" they instead assume "Larian only cares about Astarion and Halsin* and are catering to their fans again at the expense of literally everything else"

*The idea that Halsin fans are receiving any kind of special treatment is laughable, but that is very much the accusation being made- i want to see their reaction when they open up patch 6 and see that their fave has new kiss animations too tbh. As for the new scenes datamined for Halsin, those are all in response to complaints made by people who HATE Halsin, not complaints by his fans. A platonic confession scene? A version of the post-breaking the curse scene that doesn't involve flirting? The only two that were made for Halsin fans were fixing his post-Drow dialogue and the ability to go with him at the end, and the latter hasn't been fully implemented yet (you can get a flag saying you chose him, but you don't get to tell him and have him respond yet). But I have seriously digressed.

IDK, it just seems like we're in the phase of fandoms where, since the initial joy of discovering what the game has to offer has worn off, people are getting their dopamine from getting angry instead, and that means making a game of who can have the best hot takes, who or what is the most problematic and deserving of shunning, what have the creators done to fuck over us poor fans, etc.

There are many legitimate criticisms to be made against Larian, I want to be clear here- their treatment of Wyll's character has been horrific, and the interactions between Durge and Astarion should have been given for ALL characters. It is appalling that they have let Minthara's romance be bugged to the point that some people can only trigger it by modding the game because the flags are bugged and that they have allowed Halsin's voice lines to be bugged SINCE LAUNCH causing many to think they don't exist. All of these things deserve to be criticized. But ascribing malice to things like having separate work teams on the game, or the pile-on people started over that "we fixed it so a glitch can't cause Gale to leave your party" patch... Yeah.

It's never a good sign when a fandom starts to collectively chase the high that comes from being The Angriest. It doesn't seem to be as prevalent on here as on Twitter, thankfully (ironically, speaking as someone who was on this site since before Superwholock, the most toxic parts of Tumblr moved to Twitter after the porn ban, and now it's mostly rational people on here) but we are rapidly sliding towards the "do you people even like this game or do you like the version of it you created in your head?" phase of fandom that everyone dreads.

hi haven’t made a post in a while. but just watched tdp season 6, and OH MY GOD I have things to talk about!!!

first, I can’t believe the ship didn’t burn!!! SO SO HAPPY that they’re back together and made up and Rayla is Callums literal light that fills his darkness

So my friends and I were mostly talking about the possibility of more than seven seasons (specifically 8, maybe more!).

One of the things that could prove it, besides this image with phase 3 is the pillars with the staves on top of the Starscraper (which as of now I haven’t seen any posts about it.

It seems to me that there is: purple, green, dark blue, red, yellow, empty (the one that K’ppar had and gave to Viren), green, and light-blue green.

Assuming that each represent an arcanum, it doesn’t totally make sense. These are just strange, and don’t match up. It might just be a perception or an angle error on my part, but to me it seems like some of them change. I already looked at the all the scenes with the pillars multiple times, but if anyone want to help me out I’d appreciate it!

But if I’m right about the colors, then the arcanum’s don’t correspond. If the empty is dark, the purple is stars, the dark blue is ocean, the red or yellow is sun, the light green-blue is moon (or sky I guess), and one of the green is earth… that’s still not eight pillars. And there is definitely eight.

And, there are too many green staves. Even if one of them is supposed to be bluer, there’s also the possibility that if sun is yellow, what is the red one? And vice versa.

Dunno if I’m totally off on a limb here, but it’s quite interesting. We also never get a shot with all the colors.

In conclusion, my friends and I think there’s going to be an eighth arcanum, and an eighth season (solely based off these pillars). It’s most likely green. But we thought the magic could be Time or Blood or something. Not sure. But this season was so good!!!

Glad Karims plan didn’t work, surprised about how Terry and Claudia’s relationship went, I thought Terry was going to actually leave her or betray her or something. Her haircut isn’t the greatest. They fixed the cello playing problem. Damian!!! JANAYAS WEDDING!! Loved Stella and Sneezles: the ultimate Rayllum shippers. The Lord of the Rings reference was funny The mushpals were super cute, we got SO much Rayllum content and that’s amazing. Virens sacrifice was a very good thing for him to do (was scared that he was going to use Soren’s heart)… And Leola and Aaravos’ story was a needed addition. We know why he’s fucked up now. So much love and family this season! I feel like I missed something, but oh well.

Ok, I know I don't really post anything Umbrella Academy related, but I binged season 4 and I have... a lot of thoughts.

Spoilers under the cut

Unpopular opinion, but I liked the ending. The entire season I was telling myself how cool it would be if the world actually ended or if Five, Viktor, or Ben died. I think it was nice seeing that the end of the world really was inevitable, and that every time they tried to fix it they just fucked it up even more.

However, I think the ending was one of the only decent parts of the season. The whole season felt very rushed and I felt like some of the characters were written poorly. 6 1-hour episodes were not enough to bring this show to a satisfying conclusion, in my opinion. I liked the idea of the Keepers, but it felt like the build-up with them needed more time.

I did like Allison, Klaus, and Claire's little dynamic a lot, but with more episodes we really could've seen how much Klaus was caring for Claire, how Allison helped Klaus, etc.

And I might be mistaken, but I felt like Luther and Diego were much closer this season than in the other 3, with no real reason for it. Of course, I haven't seen the other 3 seasons in a long time, but their whole relationship felt a little out of place.

Speaking of out of place relationships, WHAT THE FUCK was up with Lila and Five??? I literally hand to first 4 episodes going "I'm so glad they're friends, I like their friendship" because I could see the romantic tension and I was so against it. One of my favorite things about seasons 2 and 3 was the relationship between Lila and Diego, but they just felt like completely different people in a completely different relationship.

I also liked seeing new/upgraded powers, like Klaus being able to fly and stuff, but Lila's laser eyes felt unnecessary. Also, I spent that entire season waiting for Allison to say "I heard a rumor" and we never got it. (I might have missed it if she did say it)

Lastly, I did like that Ben had a big role this season, I'm especially excited that he was the cause of the apocalypse. However, I hated the whole "Bennifer" plot. Instead of it being powers or some sort of force like the previous seasons, this apocalypse was caused by a monster. I think it would've been cool to see Ben and Jennifer act more like the apocalypse in the 3rd seasons, if that makes sense.

In conclusion, I think this was a bad final season. They should've ended in season 3 with an extra episode or two, or they should've re-done season 4 and made it actually seem like it belongs in the show.

i remember starting house m.d. at the height of the pandemic; it was during lockdown and if i remember correctly, i stopped at around season 6-7(ish)?

and i was skeptical about returning to [re]watch the show beyond season 5 and post-kutner death because he was my comfort character and i had to reel back and take it all in to accept he was no longer coming back :(

but life, as of late, has been overwhelming for me. hence, my absence and my inability to come online to post daily thutner updates.

so, i decided to give season 8 a go despite the negative reviews i have read about it and i am glad i did because i would have missed out on this golden and underrated scene from the fourth episode of the season:

the way foreman just stood there and let house hold his ass for idk how many seconds/minutes this even lasted. all i know is that it made me bust into a fit of laughter. 😭

Ik it wasnt perfect and kinda rushed but we had so many cute stuff

Sorry for the delay! This took some time and I'm still not sure of my ranking because some of these were tough. We did get some great scenes despite them ultimately doing Marina dirty in Season 7 IMO. A lot of stuff brushed under the rug/put in wordless montages that was really frustrating after waiting so long for certain storylines to wrap up and come to fruition but this is how I would rank them.

This would be my top 5 and then the rest under the cut:

7x04: truth or scared scene. so good. finally got to hear them express their fears to one another. (crazy how they all ended up becoming reality during the season) and then of course the cuddling scene at the end and carina sleeping in maya’s neck like we all knew she did <3 lovely to see and bonus that it was directed by Stefania.

2. 7x05: in maya’s bunk. top tier. everything about this scene is perfect. carina waiting for maya while wearing her sfd clothes. liam there. maya freaking out when she sees carina’s bloody shirt. carina having to tell maya she can’t get pregnant and maya immediately wanting to fix it and suggesting her eggs. maya finally speaking italian to her wife. i’m so glad we got this and in the 100th episode makes it even more meaningful <3

3. 7x10: we’re pregnant. two babies. i love this scene even if i wish we got more of an initial reaction to them finally seeing each other after all the wildfire stress. but the payoff of carina finally getting to tell maya she’s pregnant was beautiful and so special. the spinning kiss parallel to their proposal scene felt meaningful also. they finally had their moment <3

4. 7x09: i’d rather focus on my hot wife. 10/10 great scene. the foreshadowing of this is definitely evil but it's probably the sexiest thing we got of the season and didn't disappoint. Danielle and Stefania truly delivered as they always do when getting the material.

5. 7x01: Hi little Liam. We’d like to be your moms. I love this scene. Maya being the one to suggest adoption, saying they can still have their plans to get pregnant, listing all the reasons it makes sense for them. Carina being so happy and the way Maya looks at her at the end as Carina is looking at Liam and Liam looking up at both of them. I’ll always wish we got more of the beginning stages of Marina bringing Liam home from the hospital/introducing him to the team etc. but this scene was really good. The start of them finally becoming moms <3

Now the rest. I don't know if the 7x09 cliffhanger technically counts because they don't interact in it but I have to shout it out/put it close to the top because it's still so beautifully done and intertwined both of them together in such an amazing way. Just such a shame that they didn't pay it off that well.

6. 7x09: scene in kitchen. mutual i love you’s finally, the ultrasound picture on the fridge, maya wearing the jacket she wore when they first met. another great scene that gave us so many good things.

7. 7x05: FaceTime maya carina liam. super cute. we got probie and babe and maya in her class A’s. 

8. 7x08: opening montage scene of ivf process/embryo transfer. loved this scene, glad we got to see some of it on tv for once that just involved the two of them. i think out of all their wordless montage scenes in the season, this is the one that actually made sense to be a montage but some of us were so frustrated with them already having a lot of those scenes already that we wished there was dialogue. but i think it was nice seeing the process being done, the way they were looking at each other with complete heart eyes, maya holding carina’s hand every step of the way and then carina explaining things to maya on the ultrasound photo. and i love that it was the first scene of the episode. and then the transition to them at the clinic and maya being all protective of carina moving heavy things? 10/10

9. 7x07: scene in the beginning with liam is adorable. maya testing carina for her meeting about the lawsuit, maya and liam both crying and carina comforting them both. all it was missing was a kiss of some sort, don’t know why they didn’t add that. also carina calling herself mommy felt wrong

10. 7x04: getting locked out of the house. peak comedy. carina saying she wants to fight. love seeing them bicker like an old married couple lol "i’m married to maya bishop, of course my car is locked"

11. 7x06: at the clinic. maya being all smitten at the idea of carina being pregnant. i’m so glad we at least got this since we never got to see maya around a pregnant carina…we were so robbed of that

12. 7x08: over protective maya about the embryo transfer at the clinic and wanting carina to take it easy…adorable. the little bits we got of her being that way since we didn’t get to see it while carina was actually pregnant but i love that carina also reassures her she’s fine and still capable of doing things.

13. 7x09: in the tent, worried wives and ‘see you at home’ short but sweet

14. 7x09: texting scene. lasagna mention. super cute and bonus carina/liam cuteness 

15. 7x06: joe’s bar. annoyed they cut the kiss which was a theme this season but i really liked this scene. maya being a cute yapper while carina amusingly listens to her wife and them talking about mason and their parents and bringing it back to them having their own kids. carina telling maya she’s going to be a good mom…it was just a cute married domestic scene at their place.

16. 7x01: talking about getting house. Carina saying ‘your apartment’ stings even if I get she’s saying it because of the bad memories. seeing Carina with Liam in the beginning and Maya saying she did everything she could to save his bio mom was cute. our house. our home. this scene is cute but the fact that they didn’t just let them kiss properly is annoying and then we got the awkward angle instead. 

17. 7x08: in the lounge talking about liam and the bio dad. love how carina leans into maya’s chest and maya kisses the top of her head. wish it wasn’t so quick but it was a nice scene

18. 7x02: Carina getting sued: Maya being supportive of Carina from the jump was cute and the little touches throughout the scene was so them. and Maya basically making sure everything was taken care of and leading the way once they got the call to get Liam? my heart

19. 7x04: discussing attachment parenting and their different styles. i found this scene to be very interesting and to hear maya's POV of why she felt the way she did and it made sense for her stance to be what it was while carina felt the opposite. thought it was nice to hear them talk about it in a healthy way despite them disagreeing.

20. 7x04: the fight in liam’s room. lots of mixed feelings with this scene. i know people think Carina always pushes Maya too hard but i also think she should be able to talk about the tough things with her wife at times. it shouldn’t just be a ‘therapy’ thing when Carina is just trying to figure out where Maya is coming from. it’s also interesting to me how Maya always goes to bring up Carina’s father whenever she gets confronted with something by Carina, i wish that was something that was addressed. i also understand Maya is still working on herself and so getting defensive and walking out is still something she does and i don’t blame her for that. but part of me does wish we would have gotten to see them grow from this as it was already a step in the right direction after the fighting in season 3 (and we all know how maya handled that) but to finally get to see them ‘fight’ and discuss something without Maya walking away. 

21. 7x08: marina walking into the engagement party and telling the team about being on track to adopt liam. glad we got this moment and the team being happy for them. 

22. 7x02: Marina Clinic Scenes (I’m just grouping them altogether as one since they weren’t technically alone for any of them but still had some moments) love the look Carina gives Maya when she says “That’s what I said” about never having kids. Carina helping Maya with her gown, seeing them work together to figure out the illness the woman had, it was nice seeing them work together in that element like that (though i still think it was a missed opportunity for them to deal with a contagious situation and one of them catching something/worrying about liam but there was already a lot going on plus the suing situation at the end)

23. 7x04: Maya with the drill in the beginning. Carina with liam was adorable but it felt a little forced that Carina just couldn’t get a diaper herself lol

24. 7x07: end scene. having the box hit Maya’s boobs so they can’t kiss? stupid and unnecessary. only good things were the hand holding and amore mio. the double standards between all the couples sex scenes were trash as we’ve all said. 

25. 7x10: the flash forwards. idk if these count but they were fine. Maya’s showing them both giving birth was unexpected but i am glad we got the vision of carina giving birth to their baby. Carina’s only showing some weirdly placed photoshoot was underwhelming though.

26. 7x02: bringing Liam to the station…the fact that this was just a wordless montage really upsets me. I think this moment deserved way more. I get that it was Jack’s moment/episode but Marina had been waiting for this for so long and we deserved to see them excited and having the team excited with dialogue that they were finally bringing their baby home with them. 

27. 7x03: montage scene(s) - if these even count…I think we all know how ridiculous it was that this it the only content they got in the Pride episode and while it was sweet seeing the three of them in their new home and getting to dance and have their moment as a family…they deserved so much better and so much more.

warning spoilers for the finale

the lo ending was honestly worse than I was expecting, it was Persephone just going down a bullet list of resolutions that just didn’t feel satisfying. Ugh it’s one of those epilogues where it’s treated as a happy ending for everyone when really it’s only a happy ending for the main characters and their friend group, honestly makes me want to do a deconstruction fic or something. Like Dio speed runs through his childhood, Semele is back but probably spent years working in the iPhone factory, the tgoem and whatever support network it provided is gone, Metis is free to go be a creep in the mortal realm (she didn’t fix the time line so Metis still slept with someone she met when he was under 19) and I’m sorry I just refuse to believe Hera will be a good queen, LO Hera spent the early seasons being cruel to nymphs and satyrs and treating her daughter as a bartender and mini me. Like I’m glad she divorced Zeus but that’s about it in relation to Hera. And of course she reduces 6 months to 3 months with the added bonus that they can visit each other whenever they want, why make Persades sacrifice something when they can have happily ever after handed to them on a silver platter. Like Gaia even hand waves the whole “Persephone killed everyone” thing away because I guess she can raise the dead now with her fertility powers.
