Nervously but determinedly, Caruso went to Dulce's parents to invite them all to Scotland with him. Noemí and Erick still weren't quite pleased and needed more time to reassess their opinions on him. Several days stuck with a guy they didn't like didn't sound very appealing either. Anyway, it was a generous offer; they could not deny that. It wasn't until Dulce's graduation when they came to the realization she was not a little girl anymore. Noemí and Erick were beaming with pride, especially considering how far their little girl had come and all the hardships she faced. She's ready to make her own choices. They thanked Caruso for the offer but decided that Dulce should go on this trip alone with him. He was willing to make things right, which they highly respected. Now Dulce is ecstatic to visit a new country for the first time ever. Living in Tartosa, she’s always seen tourists coming and going from all over the world. She would spy on them and wonder about their lifestyles, cultures, food, languages, and their dreams. Now it’s her turn to take in new sights. If things go well with Caruso's interview, Dulce is willing to move in with him. There's an entire world out there for her to see. No more boredom and daydreaming!

Can't get this AU out of my head, I need to let it out:

Muggle AU where Remus moves into a new neighbourhood. He notices his neighbour is almost constantly in his garage, working on his motorbike with the garage door open for fresh air. Remus, an avid gardener, is setting up his new garden beds and finds himself often glancing over to watch his neighbour work (he's impossibly handsome and Remus is just trying to figure out if he's real or a figment of his imagination conjured from lonelieness, alright?), and suddenly he's become incredibly clumsy.

The neighbour stretches his back, the tips of his fingers reaching the high ceiling and his shirt riding up - Remus fumbles the watering can and spills it all over himself. Neighbour lifts the hem of his shirt to wipe sweat off his forehead - Remus trips and dumps a wheelbarrow of soil on the driveway. The neighbour looks up and notices him one day and sends a friendly wave and smile his way - Remus promptly drops his sad, sick aloe vera plant into a bucket of water, sealing its death.

It's quite inconvenient, really, having a smoking hot neighbour who either doesn't seem to be aware of his good looks or doesn't care.

However, it comes in handy when his car won't start one day, and Handsome Neighbour hears the pitiful stutters of the engine and pokes his head over the low fence, asking if he needs a hand.

Remus promptly smacks his head on the open car bonnet and while he's busy protesting that he really needn't trouble himself as he gingerly presses the tender spot on his head, turns to find his handsome neighbour walking up the driveway. He grins, introduces himself as Sirius, and asks if he wants some ice.

"For the car?" Remus asks, bewildered and maybe a little concussed.

Sirius bursts into laughter. "No, uh, no, I meant for your head. Let me take a look."

"Oh, it was just a smack, I'll be right. No need to-"

"Actually, this time I meant the car", Sirius chuckles, peering into the engine.

Thus begins the horrible, embarrassing fumbles with Handsome Neighbour Sirius Black.

(It's entirely possible that Sirius keeps finding minor problems with Remus' car and offers to fix them for free just to have an excuse to chat to his shy, and frankly adorable, neighbour who is living proof that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, because while he's always wearing a wide-brimmed sun hat along with 3 layers of sunscreen more fitting a retired senior, and always seems to be dropping something, he has a wicked wit and cutting opinions on national politics, and God, Sirius could talk to him for hours. Remus' car has had a full logbook service done by the time Sirius gets invited inside for a cup of tea and they kiss in the kitchen and fuck nasty on the counter)

Thinking about that one moment in Kamen Rider Blade where Kenzaki mentioned about having a crush on a random girl he liked in elementary school and how my ace headcanon for him was initially based solely on vibes and self-projecting but looking back on his character flaws and growth throughout the show alongside my own experiences with realizing my ace identity helped validate that even more.

I like to think (and I'm definitely reaching here) that given how Kenzaki has struggled making lasting relationships or friends especially after his parents died and the constant betrayals he experienced prior to the show's events, he never really got to develop the time or a high need to form a strong intimate (let's call it that for the sake of simplicity) connection to someone for him to actually consider a crush that he pretty much lied about doing so because he thought everybody else needed to have someone they're really into (you know, that one preteen/teen phase where a lot of people get more serious about falling in love/romance in general).

On a related note, I did have a similar experience in middle school where I thought the same thing about how everyone has to get into a serious relationship since I thought it was the right time for that (it's not actually lmao) but nothing worked out for me outside of developing what I thought were crushes just to fit in. Additionally, none of my friendships went beyond being just platonic, which combined with my overall introverted personality and the trust issues I developed upon reaching adulthood made me feel very distant from intimate relationships specifically.

Ultimately, Kenzaki needed that strong connection to someone who would understand him despite his initial inability to do so in the past (including having crushes) and fears of betrayal. Hajime (who I also headcanon as ace) was one of the people helped make that possible despite their inevitable fates, and he himself learned to develop strong connections through the Kurihara family and later Kenzaki himself despite not being human, hence him wanting to defy his prophesied role as humanity's destroyer. Shiori and Kotaro also helped Kenzaki in developing that strong connection to Hajime, with Shiori telling him that he needs to look after himself out of worry and Kotaro saying that he'd "rather befriend someone who has been betrayed 100 times than someone who's been a traitor 100 times."

In the end, Kenzaki's arc can be viewed through an ace lens as yearning for someone who would connect and understand him despite his inherent loneliness and trust issues in the past that prevented him from forming lasting friendships (or any relationships in particular), and both his growth throughout the show and interactions with his friends and eventually Hajime would contribute to his final decision to protect Hajime at the cost of his own humanity instead of sealing him.

In other words: I love my ace (of spades) son 🖤🩶🤍💜

(On a related note: as much as I want to think that Kenzaki and/or Hajime might also be demi given how I've basically worded things here that's a conversation for another time lol)

I'm sick so I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense, but I've been thinking about the nature of myths recently as I've been exploring hellenic polytheism.

For context: I'm ex-Mormon. I was raised in the church and, because of that, was taught biblical literalism but in, like, a more subtle way than most? I was raised believing that Adam & Eve and Noah's Ark, etc., were literally true, but that the story of Job specifically was not; I also always knew evolution and the Big Bang to be correct, despite there being a verse in the Doctrine & Covenants (a Mormon-specific religious book) where God apparently told Joseph Smith that the world is 6,000 years old- a passage I didn't know existed until my senior year of high school. I didn't realize I had believed in biblical literalism until I'd left the church, actually.

Now that I'm aware of it, it's a mindset I'm actively trying to combat while I explore Hellenic polytheism. It's definitely been a task to separate the nature of the Gods from their myths, as brutal as they often are. And it's something I've noticed within the community, too, which I think is interesting. It makes sense: Christianity, at least, has had a chokehold on much of the world for a long time, and so many of us have experienced literalism as our first interaction with any sort of holy text (though, of course, Greek myths as a whole aren't that) alongside our first experience with divinity as a wrathful God whose flaws are waved away, or ignored, or twisted into positive attributes. This also means that I'm trying to re-approach several deities with an open mind (Zeus, Hera, and Ares in particular, but many of them to some extent) while also trying to un-condition myself. I was already in the process of doing this, of course, but trying to figure out how to interact with a completely different pantheon has made that especially clear.

It extends to things like prayer and offerings, too. Prayers were very formulaic growing up, even though most of the time there wasn't a strict script to follow. There was always something you ask as part of the prayer, even if it's just 'please help me do better tomorrow' (alongside giving thanks, of course), so trying to craft a prayer without adding *everything* I'm used to including in makes it feel incomplete and, therefore, disrespectful. And daily prayer is something I'm resistant to because of prior experiences with it. I don't want to offend any of the gods by asking for something or asking for too much, especially so early on, and there's always a promised offering the few times I *have* asked. Add worries about exact obedience on top of that and it's proving to be a difficult thing to untangle. And I know that the gods are difficult to offend, figuring out how to do this takes trial & error and that's okay, it'll get better the more I do it, etc., etc.; this is more an issue with my own overthinking than anything else (hooray for ✨ mental health issues ✨). I'm not really asking for advice here, necessarily, just thinking out loud because I'm not comfortable talking to people in meat space about it yet.
